FUN AND EDUCATIONAL. I got this app a little while ago, works great. I am already great at calligraphy so this app doesn’t bother me and actually works exactly like real calligraphy. I do think that the down and up strokes should make more of a difference than how fast you move. For anyone having any trouble at all, please... practice and learn calligraphy. This app is only fun if you can already do that.

Very Good. A very good app for writing, drawing, practicing any type of new writing or signing your signature. Between the different brushes and the cool writing style this is a must get drawing and letter practicing app! I do have a suggestion. 1: Make a delete this page button. I always have to pick my brush again. That's it! A great app for drawing and for someone who wants to write on the go or doesn't have a calligraphy pen!

Looks nice, but not nice to work with. After testing it out, I had thought it became a bigger brush size through speed, but I had thought wrong. You can't even change pen size, though you can control type of pen. Definitely not formatted for an iPhone 6 or higher. Not a good app to learn calligraphy/brush lettering- try Adobe or Procreate if you want to learn digitally. Or a decent drawing app that recognizes stroke sizes.

Don’t waste your time. This app stinks. Everything except the worst brushes cost money. You can’t change the color without paying. Ads pop up nonstop. And two of the four “free” brush options are so thick you can’t even practice calligraphy with it!

Charged too much. Update: I already paid for this app 3 years ago for the full upgrade. I was overcharged at the time. Now I open the app and it is trying to charge me again. I hit “restore purchases” and it still wants to charge me for an upgrade. I already paid for it once. This is the second time I report this app to the Apple Store. Scam. Previous Review: In app purchase says $1.99 to purchase this app. I was charged $2.99. Reporting to Apple Store.

Poor app. App has poor response. Brush strokes get altered when doing curves. Waste.

Worthless. The basics don't even work properly. You can write but cannot erase, undo, or wipe the board as those functions are either disabled or are buggy. Don't bother downloading.

Cuul i guess. Well this app isn’t that bad, I used it for about .5 seconds for mild entertainment. It’s not for learning actual calligraphy, but it’s not that bad, ok? For the record I do know how to spell cool but I just wanted to spell it like that.

Not as Bad as You'd Think. I got this app because I have anxiety issues and writing names, words and letters helps calm me down. I want to start calligraphy but I don't have any fountain pens at the moment so I try to make do. I found this app, which at first I thought was just an ad for the deluxe edition because of how the opening screen is set up. You can't do anything but write, which makes sense. When you're writing however, there can be a bit of a lag between your finger and the line. But you get used to it. If writing random stuff is what you want this for, I'd get it. But for anything else, I wouldn't.

Don't bother. What the...? 2016 and totally user unfriendly? - just a big add to install Google every time - has to be rebooted each time - uninstalling immediately Useless, sorry iPad Pro - Apple Pencil

Laggy, boring. This is my honest opinion: It’s really laggy and it only offers 4 brush types which are essentially the same except different opacities. No color choices too. Not very helpful if you want to learn about calligraphy or how to do it...

Let me play if you want me to buy. If you want me to buy your app, you need to give me something to test it with! Every option I clicked on just brought up the purchase screen. Apparently you don’t think it’s worth buying since you won’t let us try it first.

Bad. The brushes glitch and i cannot close the ads i have to open the ads and then close the window to get back to the app plus there are way too many ads

Should not be on AppStore!. (I tried this s/w on my iPad) This program has several severe flaws. A) The GUI is not intuitive B) most buttons don't work C) the ads are too blatant The author should refrain from releasing such childish nonsense. Apple should filter such apps out. Shame on Apple for tolerating such ...(bleep).

Nice, but.... I like the way the brushes work, but erasing is nearly impossible! This app has a LOT of bugs.

Lame.. I now understand why this app is rated poorly. It’s a waste of time.

Crashes. The main screen is a "table" with pens on it to choose from. Once a pen is chosen, the app needs to be closed to go back to that screen and choose another. When I tried in-app it would freeze or crash. Nothing seems to get saved in the app either. I was also unable to clear the sheet or erase without it crashing.

Excellent but needs more colors, perhaps a color wheel in addition. Calligtaphy HD is excellent with the $ upgrade - but just needs aditional colors - an orange, pure blue, bright yellow & especially pure white to make corrections to errors that creep in one needs to clean up. An optional color wheel would even be better allowing for more sophisticated use with an infinite color range.

Not pay to get features, pay to maybe make it useful. I’m lucky the basic version is free. It’s a monstrosity more than an app. Everything but one brush is locked. And by that I mean that there’s one brush at an unusable size with one color. I couldn’t even seem to get it to erase without a paywall. Now I’ll admit that eraser problem could be me. But with so may pay screens I couldn’t navigate the App far enough to get that figured out. But the one pen I got to try was a mess. Can’t figure out if it’s supposed to be speed sensitive or pressure sensitive (I have the Apple Pencil). I spent far too much time on that. And even then it’s a grainy brush. Like, I could see how it rendered the pixels and every edge was jagged. Lines uneven the flow of the stroke rendered on screen kinda made me wish I had just had the actual stroke

Needs Improvement. I think the app works fine but for me I couldn’t really do calligraphy with it. It also lags when trying to go back and undo. Also I really think we should be able to change colors. These are just some ideas.

Huge Let Down 👎. I don’t like judging, but for this I have to be honest: it was awful. It only had one brush with one color. The color didn’t bug me so much, but the brush was terrible. It was so inconsistent, you would TRY to make one line of a letter and it would have bumps, if you did the slightest thing wrong the ‘ink’ would fill the whole screen and you couldn’t make anything. Now the premium version might be better, but I’m not even gonna try.

Not Good. I don't like this app because it isn't nice for EVERY TIME i click a brush it BLASTS an ad in my face and my ears hurt! There are also too many "premium" features! At least give us access to the rainbow colors! It's not fair if some of us can't spend money on these in-app purchases

So far it doesn’t work. Every time I try and type anything it closes. No matter what button I push. It’s happened 6 straight times. Either money back or fix the issue.

Useless. Can't erase, can't save, can't undo, can't start over, can't change pens. To do anything, you have to quit and reopen.

Cool. I don’t see why so many people are upset about this app! It is awesome!(I am not payed to write this review.) the people who don’t like this app are probably just making up problems because they are jealous of the developer and those people probably wish they had made this app. There are absolutely no problems with this app! The pens work perfectly. I have never seen a inappropriate ad in this app. Why are people so upset about this app? It’s awesome! I’m 10 so sometimes apps are kinda hard to use but when I write using this app it works perfectly! But it could use some more space to write though. Please add a setting that allows you to change brush color

so many ads. you wanna be overran with advertisements and refused access to basic tools? get this app! it’s “free,” but as soon as you open the app, get ads thrown at you, and realize you can’t use even a fraction of the tools provided without paying money, you’ll grow out of it fast. avoid at all costs. not worth your time.

Wipe it from the app. Its not good for me i did wipe it from my pad

This app is a scam. This app was not helpful if I wanted a sketch pad I would have just used the other apps I have. Please refund my money.

Wow just wow. I’ve had it for only like 10 minutes, after I go back to brushes, BAM! And ad, every single time I get a new brush I get an add. It isn’t fair, I’ve already gotten like 15 ads and I haven’t been able to draw anything, when I first got it, i chose a brush, then wrote something. Not even close to looking like a letter because..an ad!!! It’s so annoying to get ads in the middle of the app.

Free version works better than paid.... When i do a sharp circular movement on the paid app it gets glitched and the stroke is not smoot as it should be. This doesnt happen on the free app. What a waste of money

Refund please. This app is not worth it. It doesn’t really help you to learn how to do calligraphy. Please refund my money because it’s really not worth it.

Buggy and low resolution. This app doesn’t do anything it’s meant to do. Frequently the brush would make a crazy line not resembling what I drew, and the actually brush is so resolution to make it worthless. You’re better off downloading Adobe Draw or similar to get a better quality result.

Bad business. I bought and paid for this app. Later on and just because I was using it, I was asked to pay again! Greed is wrong !

Dont waste your time. You have to pay to unlock anything, so the app is useless when free

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I downloaded this thinking that it was an app to help me with my calligraphy skill, but instead it was a game. Literally a word game.

Read this before you buy... This is a four star only because, I have a question. How can the preview use cyan ink? We can only use withering gray.. please make more colors and you know those viral “Satisfying Calligraphy Writing” videos? Can you make it more like that app? Anywhoo, this is a good so far except add more brushes but otherwise, GOOD GAME FOR WRITING!!

Worst. Can't save any work. Must go back out to change pens/brushes. Won't respond correctly to pressure when using the brush. Waste of time.

Not that bad. It's actually pretty nice. Easy to use, and fun to write.

Works fine. I honestly don't understand why people are giving bad reviews for this app. On my phone there's no lag between my finger and the pen and there are barely any adds. I think it works just fine.

3 Star but I also really like it.. This is a 3 star because the ad has cyan and we only get black... I would also like more brushes. It makes it hard to know what every brush does so maybe put a little “sample” to show what the brush would look like. Otherwise this is an amazing app!!!!

DON’T GET IT. This app is absolutely worthless for $2.99 YES $2.99 - I thought i was getting it for less and i was immediately charged more. You will learn Nothing from this app other than is not worth your money.

Don't get!. Unless you do the money upgrade it only let's you stay on one color and one font which is really big.

How can I get a refund. I thought this was a different app and I got tricked into purchasing the app. After downloading I went to click on the menu buttons thinking there was a home button to lead to other in app options and it lead me to pay $1.99 and I clicked purchase thinking there is more and boom it charged $2.99. That is just WRONG! Do not buy this app it should be free and it is pointless. I want a refund to purchase a real app

Does not save. Also one area of canvas does respond. But this app has been abandoned so my comments are moot.

Bad ui. UI doesn’t look good

kind of weird. the brushes and whatever are alright there is very limited options to the brushes and pens though and with that the canvas size is very thin and long and hard to work with as well as anytime you try to undo something it sends you back to the home screen and gives you an ad, and dosent let you load it back or anything those are the main problems of it but other than that it’s fine??? i guess it’s alright it gets 3 stars

Terrible. This is a terrible app. They could have done much better. You have to pay just to switch colour. Also crashed instantly. Disappointed

Good but needs more. This is really good but it would be better if you could change the paper and ink colour but you could do things like challenges to learn different types of writing and to earn coins or something and not have to exit to use a new pen but love it 👍

Low Resolution, dissapointed. I thought by purchasing the app, I can get higher resolution for my writing. Still the same with the free version Asking for a refund

Pathetic. Not made for Apple Pencil. Buttons like undo and cancel on the bottom don’t work half the time.

V. 1.1.3 doesn't work. The app needs to be restarted everytime I make a mistake as there isn't a working button on the UI at all. Only the brush works. And they look like they'd be nice brushes too. Pity...

Not right. I wish they would give colours. Also, calligraphy is hard to do when you go fast so the fact that you need to speed up to get a thicker stroke is not a good design.

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!. Don't bother; this app is useless and all it does is throw ads at you every time you try to do anything! Biggest rip-off I've ever encountered! Shame on the creator who promised a lot, delivered nothing and wasted our time! At least it did not cost anything monetarily!

Quite Disappointing. As a digital and real time calligrapher, I was very excited to try out this app. I’m very upset to give you 2 stars. I felt that the amount of ads that were presented was ridiculous, almost impossible to express creativity when suddenly some random ad pops up to distract me. In the spare minutes without an ad, I kept getting messages like “Remove Ads for Only $1.99!” How do you expect people to use this, anyways? Definitely not worth it. Also, I noticed when I was trying to write, the ink was kind of gooey? It wasn’t free flowing like ink should be. It was like digital clotting...odd. Please improve the app. It really needs to be better designed.

Messed up pricing. Went to buy it, in the app its 1.99, but was asked 3.99 for it. Nope. Its worth 1.99 to get rid of the constant ads. Getting support is next to impossible. Its sad cuz it could be useful.

Laggy. There’s not much you can do. You can’t learn calligraphy from this. No colors, guides, lettering, .... and you have a limited variety of pens to use. also, when I try to undo, it’s quite laggy and doesn’t work very well. Complete and utter waste of time.
