Date and time dial do not match. App is excellent. It’s pretty obvious the developer gave this careful thought and thought of everything that would be involved in developing the polar application. I would give more than 4 stars if that was available. — Tom

Very clever and useful. Thoughtfully designed app packed with unexpected and useful features. Really surprising depth for a free app like this, and the inclusion of tips for getting more accurate polar alignment out of old-fashioned Celestron/Skywatcher/Orion alignment scopes is extremely helpful. The battery saving features with the temporary "force GPS" mode is extremely clever. Also much better night vision friendly app design than even a lot of much more expensive astronomy apps. Kudos on every front.

So happy this app exists. I have a 34 yo Meade scope that used a small rotating card to help polar align the scope. That card became useless by 2000 and I then struggled to polar align my scope. A friend showed me this app and I was surprised to see my scopes viewfinder was one of the options. I can now easily polar align the scope again. This app is fantastic. I hope it’s stays around for a long time. Thanks again.

Awesome App. The free version is awesome. I’ve been using it for years. I’m going to get the pro version partly as a way of expressing my gratitude to the developer, and partly to get one of the pro features. Really grateful for this app. Thank you to the developer!! (I believe this app would be even more widely used if there was a good online video demonstrating all the features.)

Super helpful. With this app I'm able to get a much more precise polar alignment than I would just eyeballing it. This was a direct contributor to getting 1 minute subs unguided on a recent imaging session.

Excellent. I use this app with my iOptron Skytracker and it gets me on target every time. I use a Manfrotto 410 under the Skytracker to really dial Polaris in right where the app says to and I have shot many frames at everything from 16mm to 300mm with excellent results. The more careful I am the better... but I've shot even up to a minute or more at 300mm and 3+ minutes at 16mm with minimal tracking error if I really get close. This app plus the level on the iPhone makes for the perfect setup kit for the SkyTracker--even in the dark. An absolute must have for us Astro guys.

Nice effect but…. It’s not accurate. Wish it worked better but limitations with the phone and inherent problems like the mount being made of metal. The accuracy is not reliable. Alignment Changes every time I try to align with this app. due to the steel on my mount or tripod.

Great app!. Not only does this app help me align my Skywatcher Star Adventurer motorized mount, but it also has a very accurate clock with seconds (which is lacking in the default iOS clock). This is essential to time ISS transits of the moon & sun...so glad it also has this feature! Keep up the good work.

Font too small... the font is so small that it is hard to use.. plus the specific color red, while necessary for this purpose.. needs to be bold . At least making the latitude font much larger and bold with be helpful to align North Star.

Great help when polar aligning. This app is very easy and straightforward. When you begin your polar alignment just open the app and it tells you, based on your latitude and time of day, where Polaris needs to be in the reticule. Just that simple.

LST GMT Switched?. It looks like the times for GMT and LST are switched.

Amazing Reticle Options. This is one of the few apps I’ve found the a ton of options for reticles. Has all the mounts you can think of.

Fantastic app!. The creators of this app certainly have an eye for detail! Each reticle style has excellent instructions for setting up. This really helps alignment be beginner friendly!

Best free polar alignment tool!. Always accurate and gets the job done with no added fluff or things to get in your way. I really like that it can geolocate to get exact polar alignment for your area!

Great app. Very helpful for setting up the scope and getting accurate polar alignment.

No instructions, no idea how to start it. Unusable. Can’t find a way to make it work. Downloaded the app. Set to southern hemisphere and it shows me a fixed drawing of sigma octantis. That is it.

Best Polar Alignment App. When I found out that the recent solar eclipse was not going to be total at my observatory, I had to shoot closer to my home. I used this app to align my old C8 the night before (with no polar scope). It was so accurate that it kept the sun centered for over 5 hours. I then discovered that it had a reticle for my G11 Gemini permanently mounted at my observatory. Now it's aligned better than I was able to get by drift aligning. Works great on my iPad too. Amazed it has my 1989 Meade LX6 9x60 Polar Alignment Scope reticle!. I recently took a chance on a dusty dirty 10” Meade LX6 (f/6.3). It works! It came with the Meade 9x60 Polar Alignment Scope. I was amazed to see it available as one of the reticle options in this app! I look forward to exploring this app and am sure I will upgrade to PRO version very soon. INDISPENSABLE!!. This is my go to app for not only planning an observation session but also helping me setting up my telescope. Polar Align Pro has so many features. It’s amazing that Dimitrios has managed to pack everything you need into this one app. Not only moon information, but deep sky catalogs, are at your fingertips. There is even a built in “Astro” calculator for anything you can imagine you may want. The app also has weather and observing info to help me determine if I should set up my scope or not. Add to all this: in my mind the most responsive developer on the App Store. Dimitrios has never let me down and has an answer for any question you may have. The best out there - and worth many times more than the asking price.

Fantastic App!!!!. I originally downloaded to confirm my polar alignment on my EQ mount. I do not have a polar scope but thought I’d still give it a look. I was so impressed by all the extra features this app contains that it found it way into almost nightly use. The easy to navigate design and clean interface make for quick and efficient use in the dark. There’s also more amazing calculators than I can count on two hands. I don’t think I can offer enough gratitude for such and all inclusive celestial lovers app nor can I offer enough praise to the devs. You won’t regret purchasing the Pro app. Get it now and enjoy it this evening!

Great app!. I have a sky adventurer mount and the reticle for this mount is included in this app. After aligning using this app, I was able to take 2 minute pics with a 300mm lens with pinpoint stars. This app is very accurate. It also has instructions to help you align your polar scope to make your setup accurate.

Use It Every Session. I have been using this app to roughly polar align my mount at the beginning of every astrophotography imaging session for over a year. After this I fine-tune my alignment with SharpCap, and I have found that I am very rarely over 5 arc-minutes out of alignment using this app and usually under 2. The app also conveniently displays all time and location data needed for GoTo mounts. And yes there are zero popup ads! This app is a huge timesaver for my AP setup routine and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Cell tower vs gps. Has a feature to ignore the use of cell towers and use only gps for location.

Great App, Lots of Features/Options. This has so many polar scopes in its database from Skywatcher to Takahashi, all the way to Astro Physics RAPAS, Incredibly Helpful. Plus it has an option to be red so as to not ruin your night vision.. But there’s a mega ton of other features, options, help manuals that this app provides. The Absolutely Incredible Gigantic amount OF WORK & EFFORT that went into this App is obvious. Awesome program and I couldn’t ask for it to be any better!!! Thank you!! Finally aligned perfectly with a few extra steps.. If you are not properly polar aligned everything else fails. I had a hard time doing this with my polar scope before I found this app. Open the app, pick your location and it will show you where Polaris is supposed to be. I have the EQR-6 pro mount with a polar scope so i used the alt and azimuth bolts to match it with this app. 2 Star aligned, then alignment polar which gives you Mel and maz errors then adjust according to the hand controller. I did this a few times and now my errors read 000’00”00. First time ever! I can take 5 minute exposures without a guide scope.

Accurate Polar Alignment Tool. I used this for a couple of years when I was living in the northern hemisphere. Spent countless nights under the stars using my tracker and if it wasn’t for this app, I wouldn’t of been able to track from 3-15 minutes getting the best quality possible. Can’t say enough good things. This app is indispensable if you’re polar aligning and want the most accurate alignment night to night over a big range of reticle types. I tried all the similar apps I could find and liked this one so much I bought the Pro version!

Dwight. I use this app every time I set up my equipment. I have it on all my devices (3). Since I have four mounts all with a different reticle, being able to select that particular reticle is excellent. I have nothing negative to say about this app. If you use equatorial mounts, this is indispensible.

Perfect App. I really like being able to get my specific reticule for my mount...SWEQ6. Works well and is accurate. The in,y thing I DESPISE is that I use this in my iPad and Goggle places their stupid ads right at the bottom which covers up an apps information window. That is why I took off one star.

Excelllent utility. Easier than using the controller that comes with scopes. Also easier for quick alignment when there is no controller, like with dslr tracking mounts.

Best polar alignment app. I've tried others and they have problems with location and crashing. This app works perfect every time and being able to select the view through your own scope makes it easier then ever to polar align.

Great App for my Advanced VX. The app works great alongside my polarscope to help me align my advanced vx mount. I Am able to get 90 second exposures without any star trailing! The app also gives time and location to help with set up!
