Needs free play. This is great, but for a paid app, needs much more content. It would also be more fun to have a free play areas for kids to explore gear relationships on their own.

Awesome game. I gave it a 5 star right away. It gets your brain working its free and there is no adds my kids 5 and 8 loved it and they are helping my 3 year old play. you can down load crazy gears on an Ipad iPhone and more!😀

Really?!. Ok so I just got this game for my 6 year old and he played it for about 15 mins. And got to the end.... This is it?! Really?!

Update crashes. First version was great game and highly recommended. After the update the game crashes immediately at the opening logo. Unusable.

Favorite App So Far. I bought this app for my 6 yr old and absolutely love it. She can figure it out mostly on her own with a little help at the difficult stages. She has fun and it makes her think! I actually enjoyed playing with it as well :) seriously great investment for mental stimulation along with fun.

Great fun. What a great little app for future engineers. I would recommend more for a tablet than on the smartphone just do the little ones have an easier time moving the prices around. But other than that I thought this an entertaining way to make gears fun for little ones.

Problem Solving for Kids. My kids like playing this and I like that it keeps them busy. Thanks for the new levels!

Physics motion flaw. Anyone with sense for gears and pulleys can complete all 61 levels under 30 minutes easily. Several levels connect 2 rods to same gear, and it still rotates! For educational app to teach motion fundamentals that is a serious error. (Rods should hit and stop the rotation, here they pass through each other and the connecting pin.)

Settings page broken. Broken settings page... totally useless

Brain Exercise. My sons 4 yrs old and he's already gotten to level 61 he's been experiencing a learning opportunity to work gears and figure out how to make them move. I love watching him progress and move up in higher levels!!! He loves Crazy Gears and I love watching him learn.

Fun & challenging. Bought this app for my 7 year old but I seem to play it as well. She loves figuring out how to connect the gears. As a parent I like that it challenges her and she has fun.

Great learning tool. This app is a great tool for kids. If you want your child to be able to use tools in the future and take care of their homes then get this app. It teaches them what they need to know about most tools and how they work.

Ingenuity at Work!. The Crazy Gears app for iPad and iPhone is just outstanding in its simplicity and its ability to introduce young children to simple machines and mechanical motion. Simple elements in gears, chains, connecting rods, racks, and pulleys can be pushed around the screen in such a way to meet the challenge to "pull the shade" to reveal the next puzzle. You can almost feel the torque on screen as kids learn that gears need to fit together, or mesh, just right to get the most out of them. Later puzzles help the player understand that there may be multiple ways of doing the same job. Even the youngest player can realize that a train of gears can be used to bridge a gap or to get the gear at the end of the line to turn in the direction needed. This is great fun for all ages and even those younger than the target age range of 6-8. Don't miss the handbook in the grown-ups corner for some good materials for teachers and parents that explain some of the concepts and vocabulary. Leaving off one star because we want more puzzles!

Nice, but glitchy after level 60. Great difficulty curve, but after level 60 the circles on the end of the rods don't always appear, and they get permanently attached if they touch something. I have to terminate the program and start over and hope the handles show up.

Wonderful app and fabulous parent handbook with details about the various components used and info about one of their inspirations - Seymour Papert - key creator of the Lego programming language for kids, LEGO mindstorms and more. I can't wait to read some of the resources about his work that were highlighted!

4, now 5 y/o LOVES it!. It is a fantastic app, especially if you've got little ones (or "big kids") fascinated with gears. My little one got frustrated a couple times toward the end when there were "distractions" and a couple levels that were very challenging at the end, but then we ran out of new levels, so my help isn't needed anymore...until this new update! Thank you for more levels!!!

Unusable. As of the most recent update this app crashes immediately after launching rendering it useless.

neat problem solving skills builder. I installed this on my four year old's iPad two days ago. i just looked and she is on level 52!!!

Good idea, boring gameplay. Too easy and there are about 4 unique levels. All others from 61 repeat those 4. Waste of money. Done in 10 minutes and deleted.

Really gets the gears moving. My son loves this app! He's a little over two but you can see him trying to figure it out and you can tell that it really gets the gears moving in his head :) Awesome app

Fun but theres problems. It’s fun the problem is after you get to level 55 you can’t really get past the level so if you think you are really good at doing really hard levels get it but I don’t think you should get it if your only a little good at it than don’t get it I’m really good at puzzles and it’s still really hard don’t get it my whole family tried to play it but they could not get past the level this is how many people live in my family 23 can you believe that

Like it but it’s more like a kids game. I like it but it’s more like a kids game there’s like little puzzles to solve And you have to solve them and those puzzles are like the easiest puzzles ever

Fantastic Game but.... ...same as the previous reviewer. Same experience as the previous reviewer. Crashes immediately after the intro. I know it will get fixed, this is a fantastic game! Looking forward to it!

Levels. I love this game but they should add more levels.

Addictive and educational. I wanted my girls to think mechanically. I would like it to be hands-on, but this simulation of gears gives them concepts at a fast pace. I enjoyed playing it, and even before I told her about it, my 10-year-old daughter had found it and got hooked...she is on level 30 of at least 90, and this afternoon wants to challenge friends. You can reset the progress, otherwise you always start from where you left off...nice. And good documentation too! Thanks developers!

Great. My gifted kiddos (5 and 8) both love this app!

Excellent app, needs much more content.. My four year old son was immediately smitten with this game and my two year old daughter was even intrigued. Son got through all of the puzzles in about an hour, but he's obsessed with STEM. It seems like a great app for encouraging STEM interest in girls. The higher levels have multiple options for problem solving, so this app will engage him for a while longer, but it really does need more content. It would also be nice to be able to choose to return to a specific puzzle, and to choose from different user profiles at launch. Right now I'd probably recommend this app for more of a 4-6 yo bracket. I think there's excellent potential for upgrades. Good job, developers!! Can't wait for next version!

Great problem solving app for kids!. I downloaded this for my 12, 5, and 2 year old. They’ve been using it for about 6 months and LOVE it. Highly recommended!

Fun. Until it isn't.. At higher levels, pieces become glitchy and spastic.

Buggy. This a fun little game, but after every successful level, the app crashes. At least it remembers your last level. Ugh.

Ok not very interesting. I bought crazy gears hoping that it would be a challenge for my kids but it stays the same and after my kids got to level 70 they got bored and tired of it

Interesting concept but my 5 yr old got bored quickly. After about 5 minutes my son was no longer interested in the game. Each level is quite similar so he found it too easy.

Fabulous!. My 5 year old simply adores this app so far. The graphics are absolutely stunning and I love that he’s learning science concepts while playing the game.

Lack of Levels. Very fun but I finished it in less than an hour. Would like some more levels to keep me playing for more the thirty minutes, other than that close to perfect!

Good but not enough levels. My kids age 5 and 8 really like this game but they will be “done” after a couple days. I thought this would be more of a building style game like Ball Fall Down but it’s more of a puzzle game. I wish there was an option for kids just to create with gears

Simple and beautiful. A great follow up to Busy Shapes. My 5 year old loves figuring out the gears and it's cool to see him smile when he solves a tough one. I love the simple addicting nature of solving these gear puzzles myself when I can get the iPad back. Nice one!

Fun then challenging. My 5yo really enjoys this. As she’s progressed through the levels, she’s gotten frustrated but I think that’s ok. We are starting over at the beginning until she can crack the code.
