Keywords not working with photos. This does NOT display keywords added on macOS (searchable on iOS). Keywords entered using this app do NOT show up / behave like those entered on macOS photos.

Doesn’t work in iOS 15.2 & Video Issue. App doesn’t work in iOS 15.2. Fix it! App has no problems reading GPS data from pics sent through text or iMessage, but it cannot do the same with videos. Asks for permission to local photo library and the video isn’t even saved there. Not only that, but even after you grant it that permission, it still doesn’t work. You need to figure this out because it’s always had this problem or shortcoming.

Can’t handle large collections. Blows up upon launching. Can’t deal with iCloud library

Does not work on iPhone X. When you open the photo to zoom in it just crashed over and over

Disappointed - lacking. I wanted something easy and cheap for location. This app appeared to be the solution. It was not as the free version of photo investigator proves the location with no problems or issues. This only provides four basic indicators. A waste of 99 cents. Live and learn.

Exactly what I was looking for. Perfect, exactly what I was looking for. Shows most important information (which camera, focal length,…) on first glance on your local and your icloud photos, and more details (e.g. location) can be shown if desired. Works well on Iphone 12 Mini (ios 16) and M1 ipad pro 12.9 (ipados 16)

2023 - Not worth paying for.. For an app with a paywall it doesn’t allow you to batch edit photos or videos. Save your money and look elsewhere for a metadata and EXIF remover.

Total waste of time. Worst app of its kind I've come across.

Amazing App. Fantastic application, does exactly what it claims. ISO, location, aperture, etc have been accurate every time thus far. The option to not share your EXIF data is a great convenience as well. Well worth the $99 price tag. Props to the developers.

You can’t edit Exif data. Misleading description. You can see exif data but can’t edit.

Overall good, missing one thing. Very useful app. I like that it can be used directly from photos with the action extension since I don’t want to open another app or give it access to all my photos. There are several of viewers/editors in the App Store but not many allow you to view description in IPTC. Make sure there are no line breaks in your description or it won’t all show up. One shortcoming is this app cuts off long descriptions. * PLEASE add the ability to copy text from the description to the clipboard (extra points if you include 3D Touch). This would make it truly useful.

Nice, but a bit limited.. Nice implementation. Access via the share function is a good idea. Formatting the data displayed into a more familiar format is good too. One limitation I see is the date/time displayed is not the captured or digitized time, it appears to be the metadata time. Another limitation is the number of EXIF data fields that are displayed is only a small subset of the EXIF data available on the iOS platform. A third limitation is the inability to edit the EXIF data. iOS doesn't allow editing of EXIF data in the original photo but a copy of the photo with edited EXIF data can be created. I will check updates to see improvements but this app has a long way to go before it would take me away from EXIF Wizard Pro.

gives most info l need. data details like file size. its a shamefor app to hide this info from everyone. and make ppl purchase an app for it. no file name change. no video description. turning device 90* buggy. no list files. but works for ios9.0. and it's small. Does it really charge me 1$ every month??

Cannot edit EXIF data. Misleading description. You can delete EXIF, but not edit it.

Great EXIF Tool. I use to remove EXIF data, very effective.

No sidecar api support for GPS tagged photos by GeoTagr. I use GeoTagr to add GPS data to my photos. It stores the GPS info in a sidecar or seperate file next to the photo. Some apps, as an extension in photos, using the newer API’s from apple - can view the photo and the gps info (for example Metapho), but this app doesn’t. Which is a shame, as I liked the position of the map at the top (as shown in the screenshot promoting this app).

Almost Perfect. Just add FPS in video and it will be perfect photo and video meta app but other than that it is perfect for photos!

Simple and practical. Checking the EXIF data of a photo or a video is essential if you want to get more information about the photo, the camera setting and of course the location of a shared photo. However, this app lets you share a photo without the EXIF data as well, improving security and privacy in certain situations.

A seriously great app. It allows you to easily share your photos without sharing where you took the pictures. If others share their photos with meta data you can see what camera they used and where they took the pics. Simple to use and essential if you're taking pics and sharing them with the world. A must have.

Been great for years. This is a great geeky toy to see where a photo was taken or how large a video is. Other useful data is provided as well. I use this app regularly.

Excellent Little Tool!. This app does exactly what it says it is going to do, and it does so in a very straightforward, intuitive, and helpful way. It is NOT fancy, and it does not have a bunch of advanced features, because that is not what it is intended for. It is just a valuable little tool that gives you the information that you need, as simply and quickly as possible. Thank you for making it available to all of us!

Works great for multiple photos, just one issue. I use this before I share or send out any photo. I can select multiple photos and remove their EXIF data one at a time. The biggest issue is that the photo’s brightness levels are affected. I suspect it’s HDR, and ViewExif can’t handle it.

DOES NOT WORK! (iOS 17.4). Keywords and descriptions do not show up in photos metadata on iOS or MacOs

Extremely useful - should be native to ios. ...but it would be even better if it weren't limited to Photos. For example, is there a way to make it work with the Dropbox app? Frustrates me to no end that I can't easily see the exif data on my uploaded photos from the iPad; this would be such a great tool for that.

Doesn’t delete metadata. I wanted to remove inaccurate metadata. When I selected “Save without Metadata” the new copy it made still had some metadata from the image, and also added today’s date as the image date, which was also incorrect. I had hoped that the app would result in a metadata screen that was all blank, not add false data.

Doesn’t save Live Photos. This app will strip the exif data, but it only saves as a still photo; no Live Photos.

Everyone should use this on all photos to remove metadata. Nobody should be sending/sharing/posting photos without using or going through this tool to do so. Safeguard yourself and loved ones by removing metadata

Can I revert to the old version?. Great app. Latest update has additional XML format of the EXIF but likely made the app heavier. The Photos app has crashed multiple times since the update a week ago. I had 0 crashes for the past year of using it. How can we revert to the old version?

works conveniently mapping geotag data. it works as advertised. 👍 to qb748's review about the app being broken, it's not. i had the same or similar issue but figured it out. btw, i am no way affiliated with the author but sharing what i found out on my own... under settings, turn location services on, then choose 'camera' and change the setting from 'never' to 'while using the app.' then take a picture. it should be geotagged. go back to this or any other exif app and see if the location data is there. obviously, any photos taken before this settings change - whether location services were on or not - won't have any gps data. it was off at the 'location services' -> 'specific app' to begin with. also, this app in particular does have a way to contact the author. click on the app, then 'about,' then 'contact,' which pops up an email draft with the email address & subject line already filled out.

It’s useless app. It doesn’t give you ISO, Aperture & Sutter speed. It shows only the size of images like height, width etc. it’s absolutely useless.

Not the same. Unable to load new photos. Something is missing

One photo at a time. Nice app, works OK, but it only allows you to work on one image at a time. Want to add a tag to a bunch of images? You’re out of luck.

Excellent App!. I can go into All Photos, select one, hit the up arrow at the bottom of the screen and select ViewExif and have instant access to all of the key data and location information regarding that photo. This app is so easy to use and has so much info- I'm amazed at its functionality ever time I use it!

Love the simplicity of adding metadata. It’s so easy to quickly add a description, keyword(s) or star rating to a photo or even screenshot. I use it daily

Does not work on my iPhone XS Max. Does not work on my iPhone XS Max and I cannot contact the seller as they think I do not have an email address set-up in Settings.

Nice design, displays bad info. This good looking and well-designed app doesn’t work for many images. Apparently can’t handle when other apps modify images. For example, I have a Shortcut that converts images to HEIC. This app thinks they’re jpegs and provides bad info about file name and size. Not sure why it does this, but Photos on Mac or other iOS apps report correct info.

ViewExif has been a great tool for quite some tiUnfortunately the app is not working correctly.. The app opens and crashes right away.

True gem!. Absolutely excellent. I've loved EXIF Editor for years, & nothing beats it for easily copying geo info from one pic to another. This gem gives me easy access to the otherwise hidden metadata... golden! BTW, you'll see lens used & geo info only if it's already embedded in the pic's metadata, eg Sony a77v/a99v/hx90v, Nikon p990. Re the p900, ViewEXIF even shows the 35mm equivalent of the maxed out 83x optical zoom -- 2000mm. Sweet!!

Great utility. I use this app all the time. It is very useful, especially prior to apples way-too-late-to-the-scene with showing a little more info than none like they do before. I use this even just for the time the picture was taken! Apples display of the time changes is your time zone changes (like while traveling) and will be incorrect! I store the app way out of the way, it's used through the interface of ios not directly. It's in the "open in/send to" symbol, the square with an arrow pointing upwards out of it. On the bottom, the gray silhouette ones not the color ones, has the app listed. You probably have to scroll over to the right to even see it-I edit the list to have it shown up first as I use it all the time. As others noticed, the app has been left alone for a long time, and I do hope it hasn't been abandoned. Oh, and while it seems cell data isn't needed for something to simply display a photos exif data, which it isn't, it's useful to download map data for the geotagged photos to display.

Gyp. Fails to remove metadata as advertised.

One of best of its kind. I've tried several apps that show exif data and this is one of the best. It displays all of the information you could want. The developer is responsive and takes feature requests seriously. Two feature requests I made were included in a past update.

Highly inefficient. I purchased it so I could text photos without geotags. I can. And the process is cumbersome and works for only one photo at a time.

Surprisingly Fun!. This app flows well with iOS. It feels like it was, or should have been, always there. It showed the camera for all of my photos, including from family. It even has a map for where the picture was taken! You have to turn the Photo's option/button on, but open the app and it has a great instruction manual. Tip: If you have a wallpaper that is a picture, check it with this app. Many will tell you the program that was used. Some will even tell you the camera or the location. It's surprisingly fun!

Really useful. Apple makes a big deal how great the iPhone's camera is, but makes it so hard to get the EXIF data on iOS. This is a really useful tool to plug that gap.

One of the most useful apps. I never knew our photos had so much details / information recorded in them, this app tells you everything and it's so useful and easy to use too.

App crashes when used. The app just crashes when trying to set keywords and the developer hasn’t responded to emails. It may be abandoned.

Absolutely indispensable. Indispensable for all photographers. From the iOS photos app, tap the share icon, then view exif: and see all the details of the shots. Basic functionality Apple didn't include, this app solves it. Can't remember how much this app cost me, doesn't matter: I'd pay $20 for this if need be. Faultless.

Pointless. I thought this app would tell you useful information about your photos like if it's been used by someone else, the information it gives you is useless and no different from your own photos than one you saved from the internet. I'm guessing the 3 reviews this app received have been done by the maker or the maker of this app paid someone-useful was a word someone used, as if! What would you use this info for? Don't waste your money like I just did

Fantastic for getting EXIF data from all photos. I often import my raw NEF files to my iPad and this shows all the EXIF and Raw metadata from my Nikon pics as well as all data from my iPhone and iPad pics including HEIF. Great app.

Don’t get this if you use Computer or iCloud Storage. I got this app, only to find that I am unable to add any sort of description to the photos I have downloaded to my iPad. I queried this and was told “Photos in iCloud album and iTunes synced albums are not editable.” It would have been nice to know that before I bought it. Also, making any change eg to add a descriptive note on the computer, doesn’t come across with the EXIF data. Include this information, SkyjosApps. Otherwise you are misleading people.

Good Viewer, Weak Editor. It won’t let you edit the Metadata, just adding a description and a rating.

Finally!!. An app I've been waiting on for quite some time. Super useful and well done.

A must-have app for photographers. Addresses one of the most glaring shortcomings of the native iOS Photos app. Enables you to view photo EXIF info when using Photos. Also works for the Google Drive app. I still can't believe Apple and Google don't provide this functionality by default. Kudos to Steven Zhang for implementing this.

Awesome. Every possible Exif data. The only problem I have with it is it keeps showing the same map for all photos. I mean it doesn't update the place the photo is taken. Instead it shows the same position in the map for all consecutive photos. Hope to see it fixed in the next update.

Clever app!. This app makes it easy to view EXIF info right from the Photos app, using share sheets. I moved it to the first slot in the Share Sheet since I use it a lot. Updated to support HIEC and iPhone X! Even lets you add keywords now!

Good but could be a lot better. This app still does only what other apps 5 years ago do, but in the action extension. Has no one figured out how to: 1. Batch process all photos selected? 2. Batch share without metadata, right from the extension without having to save? 3. Efficient save without metadata without taking 10 minutes to duplicate the movies 4. Maintain Live Photo’s when sharing without metadata? For the above reason I think this is a stable way of just sharing a single shot at a time with friends, but it needs to get with the times and do a whole lot more, or Apple should incorporate these features in the future in the next iteration of iOS.

Waste of money. Don’t bother spending your money. All it does is delete the data from your phone. Everywhere else you can still access all metadata.

Great for showing camera info. I like that this program provides the photo info details from the app or if I am in Photos. One issue I have had for a long time is using the ViewExif app to browse albums often shows duplicate albums.

Very Handy. It's very easy to use, and using new iOS features you don't have to leave the photos app. A great addition for anyone interested in finding more info about photos.

No longer working or even accessible on latest iPhone software. Don’t bother to download until this works again with the latest iPhone software. It has disappeared.

Amazing. Simple. Necessary.. I can't believe that a 3rd party had to add this functionality to iOS devices! But they sure did it well. It seems silly that a little extension like this should make such a difference but it does. To be honest I use it less for the actual EXIF/Metadata info and more for file size. It's the fastest way to find the size of an image or video. And when you're running short of space that's important. Well done.

Handy!. Great way to finally be able to quickly see file size and dimension data. Map is especially handy to see. Feature requests! - tap map to open location in Maps app (extra credit: option to open in Google Maps also) - ability to copy any/all data to clipboard (long press maybe?) - separate line item for text of the GPS coordinates

Works perfectly. This app does exactly as it says it does. It is very useful. I highly recommend it if you want to view the metadata of your photos.

Photos But Not Videos. Great for Photos but wish it would also show metadata for Videos. Seems like it should be simple to add.

I don't get it. Literally. I downloaded this app, follow the directions to receive EXIF data on the photo, and simply received information on the file name and the size of the photo, but nothing at all on the type of camera used, the lens used, the settings, or the location. All in all, I found it to be pretty worthless.

This is not a good app anymore.. If this was a good app once it no longer is. I cannot see geolocation, share without metadata on any app, nor use any actual function in the app description beyond seeing the basic data. A year and a half since the last update. Seems like an abandoned app. Shouldn't be sold anymore. Do not buy this app.

Excellent EXIF viewer. This is a wonderful EXIF viewer. Don't forget to enable the extension for use right in the stock photos app.

Mine Is Broken. Thought this would be great... but it does not show location information at all... not on any photo of mine or anybody else's for that matter. If it really IS supposed to, the manual does NOTHING to show you... and app support does not display an email address for me to contact them. I don't use any of the popular email companies... so that automatic "contact us" bu11sh!t does nothing to help me contact you.

It just works and that's great. Acts as an action extension so it works within apps with no need to run another app to check the EXIF. Shows all the EXIF, and even allows sharing with or without the EXIF present. Simple, elegant, and works well.

Best media metadata viewer. Now that it shows video metadata, ViewExif is the best. Clean, familiar interface which blends naturally in iOS Photos.

Please fix the map issue. I'd give 5 stars as before but the map has a serious issue! It doesn't show the proper city let alone location after the recent update. I live in Iran and all the photos I've taken in different cities are displayed in the capital city Tehran! Please fix it. Love everything else about this handy app!

Freaking Heaven!. I have been looking for an easy to use app/extension like this for a while. I really wish this was a built-in feature but this app does the job just as easily.

Does not work on iOS 9.3.4!. Purchased app, and it does not show up in iOS settings, photos more menu, Dropbox more menu, or google drive more menu. Uninstalled and reinstalled 3 multiple times. If this app is no longer supported and has been abandoned I'd like a refund! You shouldn't be selling apps that don't work.

Exactly What I was looking for.. This is a great photos extension. It's really what iOS should have built in.

Now complete.. This last update adds everything I need to see with exif.
