Excellent and Worth It. Easy to use and worth it, I went with the pro version in the end. Great product! Mahalo.

Extra charged for feature. It clearly states the extra features are 0.99 cents each not including the big package. I bought the replay feature and it said $0.99 but then right as I purchased it said charged $1.99 Trying to scam me out of my money.

Noise reduction. Anytime I try to use the feature I get an add and there is no way to close the add. I tried to even pay for the app but can’t figure that out

Great for musicians. Best recorder app I can find for saving song ideas. Has high quality audio options, allows you to name the file after you record it, folder organization, great app.

Great app. Definitely does what it says it will enjoy using for practice before being ready for the studio plus when ever I think of some great lines I can just record them with a quick and way press of a button

All Audio Files Corrupted on Export. If you keep files in the app, it works okay, but every audio file I tried to export was corrupted on every computer/other system I played it on. This isn’t even to mention things like Google Drive aren’t accessible because the app isn’t verified on Google, so I spent an hour just trying to figure out how to get files off. Do yourself a favor and go get a different audio recorder app.

Excellent app. Using my Bluetooth headset, I was able to record the songs I sang at church with great quality in the sound. My wife requested I do this. She loves to hear me sing!

Great app. Just downloaded and seems to work just fine so far. Been recording off the radio and the audio is very good I had another App but only could record for one minute at a time so that wasn’t to good for recording songs

Scam app do not download. They make you buy an extension to be able to listen to it playback. So you can’t even listen to your recording after you make one.

Poor Email Sharing. Very good App in general, but trying to share by emailing an mp3 file almost never works, or is very, very sloooow before the file arrives in Inbox. Tried a dozen times with a single 25 seconds recording, exactly the same way each time, and got ONE file, 35 minutes after hitting “send.” No idea what happened to the others. Very unreliable sharing by email.

Tests Failed. I needed to test this before doing professional interviews. Only 1 out of 5 actually recorded which was the shortest clip of 10 seconds. Upon playback the rest of the files, one of which was 20 mins, recorded 00:00:00. In fact all of the rest didn’t record at all. The files showed data was used but no recordings.

Best recording device. I used this recorder for choir Pratice when we rehearse new songs as well as recording my own self live. Great sound quality. Love it.

Excellent app!. Been using this to capture song ideas and it’s awesome. Super fast and easy to use. I can choose the type of file I need for either just capturing an idea or recording in a higher quality for more serious use. I highly recommend this app for anyone needing a high quality recording from your phone or iPad.

Just wanted simple—to listen 1.5x & interface well with iPhone—this does neither. A lot of adds, then I paid $1 in order to listen 1.5x and the option isn’t there—jumps from 1 to 2.5x!! Not easily paused & restarted from iPhone. That’s basically I was looking for, disappointed and deleting.

Love it!. I’m a radio broadcaster. I use AVR to record interviews, using my iPhone. I don’t even need an external microphone! The quality is very good!

Great mic modeling but…. I love the various microphone models in this app. But the folder hierarchy and the file naming conventions are frustrating and confusing. You should be able to name the folders what you want, I think. And I don’t think you need five different folders, for “imported” or “default” or “unknown.” Just let the user record their file and file it where they want By the name they give it. I deleted the app and I am just using the stock voice recorder now. It doesn’t have mic models but it lets me name the file what I wanna name it and file it where I want to file it.

Easy to use. This app is easy to use and for when I need the record quality is great!

Great App. As an author I’ve used so many apps to record my audiobooks and this one is the best. I did a small upgrade which doesn’t cost much and it gave me more access to different things. I’ve been able to record my audiobooks and get them onto my website, definitely worth it!

Egregiously horrible app. This app just does NOT work. Don’t waste your time and data downloading it. These guys can’t even elegantly upsell you anything. How they got into the App Store is perplexing. Perfect example of “aggressive mediocrity”.

Lexgocountry. Writing songs has been my passion my whole life, back in the day cassette tape recording was the bomb!! (As the kids would say today) AVR has made a revolutionary breakthrough in recording, I take AVR with me when I record in the studio, it keeps me on track and actually cuts studio time almost in half thank you AVR ...,

Good app. I like it for recording voice files to email. It works very well for that function. Just wish it offered a lower sample rate. Audacity offers a 16 bit 8 kHz sample rate which makes nice compact voice audio files when converted to MP3 for emailing. The minimum sample rate on voice recorder is higher making the files considerably larger.

Completely broken and ads that locked up the app. The wav files wouldnt work or transfer to another device to be used and the files were either fake or corrupted. There were ads as well that couldnt be exited and forced me to shut down the app to start again.

Nothing works. Naming files after recording doesn’t work. I write the name but it just saves with the default metadata name anyway. m4a recordings don’t work. I press record and it records a fraction of a second before automatically stopping. I can’t reduce background noise in the app. When I try I get the error “this audio format is not supported. or there is a problem with the file” (for WAV recorded on iPhone). When I email the wav file with myself, I can’t open it in Praat to do analysis of the file. I get the error “File X not recognized. File X not finished.” When I open the shared wav file in Audacity, it just plays very loud static noise.

Fantastic. I am enjoying the use of this AVR. The quality of sound is very good and it’s clear. The only problem I have is I can’t go back to put the name of a saved recording that was previously done, other than, no problem at all, love it.

no back up! if app gets deleted, so do your files. i’ve used this app for a long time. rly liked it and never had an issue with it until i had to get a new phone. i downloaded the app again thinking my files would transfer but lost everything. heartbreaking!!!

Stops at 3 minutes even tho paid unlimited. Paid for the unlimited recordings but it keeps stopping at 3 minutes telling me to pay for unlimited.

Pity. I used this app frequently, but apparently after the last update, every recording I do it comes out recorded slowed down to the point you can’t understand a word recorded.

I like it.. Takes a while to get used to but I use it for school a lot so I got used to it. I would recommend it

Good app but.... I got this app because in a pinch I needed something to record audio and it worked great! However, the developer wants to upgrade you to a pro version and it is a completely separate app and you cannot move the audio you have already recorded. In addition when I went to purchase in app extentions they were listed as .99 but actually cost 1.99.

Just what I needed. Easy to use. Love that I can save the file as an MP3, which is what my dictation software requires to transcribe. Also love that I can easily upload the file to my dropbox account.

Simple, fast, easy to use, barebones. If you need something, to take quick recordings, that you don’t have to mess around with and you just want the sound, then this is the program for you. Open it, click the circle, and it records. Easy to email them or export the files in various formats onto Google Drive or whatever so you can edit them, I’ve never really tried edit them within the program, but the files worked perfectly well for what I need. Normally, you get what you pay for, but it is free, and it rocks.

The free version isn’t worth it. It constantly interrupts to upsell you to the pro version or to some other app. I made a short test recording but couldn’t get it to play back. Useless.

Big money app. Prepare to spend money on various in app purchases yo get any thing done

Useless. Won't let me play any of my sounds back unless I pay. So you can record and then can't ever listen to them. From other reviews I've read said that even after you pay and upgrade, anything you recorded before upgrading can't be played either. Avoid this!

HUGE waste of time. recorded one thing fine, then i tried again & it would say it was recording but after finishing to listen to it there was no sound & 0 seconds of recording. what a waste of my time yuck.

Nice app for basic recording. I use this for mostly voice recording or taking vocal samples/speech samples for my communication disorders classes. Works great for me and it's easy to send to iCloud.

Terrible app. Should just make you pay before downloading. You can’t even listen to a recording without purchasing an upgraded plan

New to the Recorder. It appears to be easy to use but I’ve only been using it a few hours.

Absolute crap. You pay for a “pro” app and there are no instructions how to use it, and it is certainly not intuitive. What a joke and waste of money. They could have at the very least provided some sort of guide. STAY AWAY from this junk. There are others that are far better and make sense. Sorry I bought it.

Playback feature. Unfortunately the playback feature somehow does not work on my iPhone .. the button is unresponsive. Needed this recorder for musical group. Very disappointing.. especially since I also purchased the pro version.. the developers are also unresponsive.. emailed them with this problem and no answer. Would give a zero

Simple and easy to use. Nice interface, easy to use recorder. Would prefer to be able to ditch a recording as well as being prompted to name it after recording, especially as deleting is a bit tiresome. But overall, a slick app.

Not particularly user friendly but good recording.. Having trouble finding basic instructions, recording is easy, accessing it after isn't..

Deleted every recording by accident. I keep forgetting that the bin icon is to delete EVERY recording in the library, not just the ONE I want deleted. I've done this three times now and have lost roughly 30 recording every time. I would like something to make single recording deletion easier to spot, and the 'delete all' button to be smaller/less obvious. Other than that, great app. Extremely useful.

Great fun for the family!. I'm recording some music to share with my son currently living abroad, he's using it to record music to share too. Heck even my niece joins in and she's 8! Great fun.

Great app? Read MY comment..... This is a really good app to use but the only bad thing about it was that you have to pay $8.00 just to get the pro version........ I personally think that it should be free or when you open the app it asks you if you want to be able to add files or crop and do all of those things you can do on the pro version. I know I’m not that old to be saying this but if I was the person who created this app I would make both free. But other then that this app is absolutely useful , handy , quick at recording , easy to use. Before you get the app matey read other people’s comments as well. I hope you enjoy using this 75% good app.

Not happy. I pay top dollar 💵 for zero adverts that you agreed to maker so did I I paid for zero adverts. And now a few updates later damn adverts no good fix this problem clear all my adverts.

Easy and very useful. I've used this app to record a lecture. It was easy to download, setup and use. It wasn't restricted to short recordings, and allowed me to easily name and save my audio file. They are easily offloaded from my iPad, and being in MP3 format, ready to be posted for my students. I highly recommend this app.

Not easy to work out. People who say it's intuitive must be using an old version. Can't even find play, and I'm a pro at figuring things out.

Perfect. Exactly what I needed

Open in no longer supported. With the upgrade to iOS 13, the ”open in” function for audio files no longer works with awesome voice recorder. This means files created in awesome voice recorded by my colleague can no longer be imported or played in my iPad or iPhone using the “open in” functionality.

Disappointed. I purchased the playback option as well as the tag time option however neither work together. The playback option only works in simple mode, but the tags are not available. The tags are available in expanded mode, but the repeat option is not available. I need to use both features together. I contacted support a week ago and nobody has replied to me. Great concept but disappointing in action.

4 stars. This is a pretty good app I drop some songs from this app on SoundCloud. The only thing I didn't like is you can't upload to YouTube.

Seems strong, until you try to save: dreadful. I recorded a 40 minute audio track in this program, and the app claimed everything worked perfectly. Once I saved the file, only seven minutes survived. This negative result was on that a brand new iPhone 6 Plus, so it was not a hardware error. Additionally, most times when you try and save a file, the save button moves so far away from the on screen keyboard, that it is literally off the screen, only a sliver touchable.

Frustrating. Had a hard time finding the file I recorded and then couldn’t play it back unless I bought the pro version. That isn’t going to happen if I can’t test out how it works first.

Great. I enjoy using AVR; it is easy to use and somewhat intuitive. I make sure that each file is under 10 minutes which is a pain to have to record multiple times in one interview but at least I can relisten as often as necessary.

What the ..?. While I was finishing recording, this app won't let me hearing my voice! I recorded about 15mins for my exam's and still won't let me listen to it or repeat it! That's some crap cuz I have to pay to do that! Screw that!

Not user friendly. I can find where the folders were however you have to do in app purchases if you even want to listen to playback. At the very least it requires a pay version at 99 cents just to edit it.

Jammer's dream. I use it for just throwing in the middle of a jam. I notice, and you can hear it a bit, It kind of just auto equalizates. Easy to just throw down with decent, very decent sound quality. It's captured a few gems, and they sound good!

DR. Subman. Appears to work fine. I like the audio files on the Watch very much but you need to have your phone connected to operate the recorder. There are other audio recorders for the Watch that work WITHOUT your iPhone connected. Perhaps they will do a little upgrade and make this program work even better.

Waste of time. I wanted this app for the speed control and then found out I needed a $6 upgrade, no thank you, waste of my time!!

Waste of time. My file was under 10 mins, and it still wouldn’t let me speed my file up. Doesn’t even make sense.

Not so awesome!. I haven't been able to find out how to get it to playback. And every time I stop recording it creates a new file. But where are these files?

Suits my needs. The free version has allowed me to record and play back several audio presentations successfully. The sound quality is good and I can name the files. It only let's me save the files in the Default folder, and I don't think I can edit them, but for free, this is all the functionality I expect.

Not being able to listen to the test. How can we buy the pro version if we are not able to listen to our records? What a poor marketing approach! 👎🏻

Listen Again. Excellent, simple, quality. I love it better than my hand-held digital voice recorder that came with a hefty price tag. No difficult transitions uploading to computer for transcription. I love it!

Easy to use, solid performance.. This app was a very simple product to use. Great clarity, easy to trim and modify, and very easy to upload. Would like to be able to change the name of the MP3 file but I have to upload it first. Other than that it's a solid app.

Not working. Error with every sound. Test before recording a bunch to see if it works with your phone.

Looks cool but doesn't work. The app offers some great features like recording editing and sharing, but it requires upgrading to the paid version to work. Whenever I try using the features a message asks me to purchase the app to work on recordings longer than 10 minutes, but the recordings are shorter than 10 seconds. It won't even replay the recordings.

Great app. I like all the features in this app. The only thing that could be changed is if you have multiple recordings and want to delete one it should have that option in the default folder rather than only delete all files. I lost several because of it.

Amazing App. The wifi share us the best feature for multiple file transfers. I have used this app to capture sound bytes for a variety of reasons. Great for recording sound for systems that require WAV formatting. Only quirk is the .5 second delay before recording actually begins. Took a second to adjust. But amazingly simplistic to use by very elegant in features for a free app. Highly recommended!!!

Garbage. Free version is totally useless

Memos don't get saved - WATCH OUT. Definitely have a horrible time with this application. It will let you record and save to files, but you MUST select which file you'd like it to save to before you record otherwise it'll save it to an invisible and imaginary 'default' folder that is nowhere to be found. It's a terribly utility for someone who wants to record something on his or her own device on the fly. This is an app that should open up onto itself ready to record and be able to competently save said file. Five thumbs down, developers.

Wave recording is non-existent. MP3's record fine but wav files were corrupt every time I tried to open them in any file editing program. I went through the trouble of trying to record WAV files several times. They should just be honest about this lack of functionality so users would not be wasting time on that.

best so far. after trying several other apps which claimed to work on the Apple watch as well - but did not - this one really does what it says. I am really satisfied.

Great app for voice overs. Downloaded this app to help my wife with a theatre project. Works great. Easy to use. The free version has many options that other apps only offer in the paid version, like being able to save files in multiple file types. Only downside is that when I name a file and then email it, the file name of the detachment shows up as the apps default name instead of what I named it. Other than that I highly recommend this app for voice recordings.

Academic life saver!. I was stuck in a crazy situation trying to make a presentation for a college course with a computer that's not mine, and a program that wouldn't accept M4A and WAV formats. This app let me chose to record as an MP3, which was accepted, and let me narrate my entire presentation. No other voice recording app I looked at had that capability!

Little buggy. It does record. My old app stopped working and so I'm happy that this one was able to record my Japanese class. But it doesn't link up with Drop Box like it's supposed to do. It fails. I tried numerous times. Ultimately, to get at the file I had to use the usb and iTunes.

Great app. Using my iPhone, I can make professional recording and save them in a variety of formats. The app is easy to use and allows you to make minor edits to your recording. It's a great, free recorder that will save .wav files. Thanks!

very objective!. Practical and light!

Not completely forthcoming. I got AVR, not knowing there was an AVR Pro. I used AVR to record stories told by my 90 year old mother to put together in a photo story. The app itself looked excellent. But when I went to play the recordings I was told I could only play once unless I got AVR Pro. It was five bucks, no big deal. Except I can't transfer the files over to Pro, and now my recordings of my mom are completely missing. I made a point not to listen until I could get them into Pro, but they have disappeared. Really disappointed in what I thought was a great app.

NOT awesome at all. Has bugs.. Not only does most of the functions only work if you purchase multiple upgrades, it is littered with ads every few seconds which interrupts recordings. Has bugs which will make your phone crash and you will have to restart your phone constantly. Worse than original app on phone, just avoid, trust me you'll be happy you did.

Repeat function doesn't work any more.. I use this app to repeat phrases indefinitely to train my bird to talk. After the last update, I can't use the Repeat function any more. It tells me to buy the Pro version because the free version can't repeat anything longer than 10 minutes. However, my recordings are all under 10 minutes. One of them is just above one minute, the others are less than a minute long. I can't repeat any of them. Frustrating. Otherwise this app is fine.

Had an issue. Well I was looking at this app and decided I would go ahead and download it, although I didn't open it and use it right away I had it stored on my phone. One night we were driving in the car broke down on the side of the highway. I went ahead and opened the app as I was talking to a mechanic and he was telling me the parts that I would need so I made a long list on this app and closed it out. The next day I went to the part store and opened the app and it would not let me play it??!! It said I exceeded the time and I need to upgrade and pay for the pro version!? so I paid for the pro version which wasn't exactly cheap, and it showed zero recordings. I went back to the old player where my recording was still at and try to play it over there, and it still won't let me open it on the free version, so I use the option to try to email it to myself so I could try to open it with the pro version well after three attempts I gave up as I never got the email, so as far as being able to recommend this app I don't know because, let me down when I needed it the most. I should've just use the default player

Not bad on Apple Watch, could be great .... The app has a clean design and lets you store apps in folders. The Watch app: - needs a bigger button with a bigger tap area (it's hard to start recording w/o tapping the button multiple times). - picks up a lot of background noise on some recordings (but some are fine). - syncs with the iPhone app instantly and seamlessly (this part is very impressive). UPDATE: Just realized that when recording on your Watch, it's actually using the microphone on your iPhone. Assuming the Watch app was built before Watch OS2 came out and allowed developer's access to the microphone on the watch ... This is obviously something that needs to be upgraded ;)

I need to convert. Hello I’m confused as to how can I convert my recordings to wav or Mp3 it shows that it records and saves as m4a

Couldn't work without it. As someone who regularly records from his phone for work this app is a lifesaver, I can record Willy nilly and transfer them all to my PC without issue using the "HTTP Server" feature which I ADORE! Thank you AVR for making my workday easier.

Can’t do anything on this app.. This app is just another app that just needs money in its mouth for it to do a simple function.

Easy to use. Very easy to record mp3 files on my phone and upload them to dropbox, where I can use them from my laptop.

No Apple Watch Version. I downloaded this so I can access it on my Apple Watch. There is not app on the Apple Watch for this. So I deleted this. I wish it did what it stated in the description. Waste of my time.

Stopped working with latest update. This app is great; I love it. Unfortunately, since the update a few days ago, I can no longer files to Dropbox (or share them at all, for that matter). Please fix this, as without this function the app is useless to me, and I’ll have to find something else.

Audio not playable. Recorded audio in .wav format, exported and... No standard player recognize the file format. Submitted support request, but they simply don’t respond. Don’t but it!

Excellent. It's tough to find a decent recorder that creates small MP3 files and allows you to email or use several options for sharing. I used to use iProRecorder, but that is no longer supported and is incompatible with iOS9. This program has several upgrades, which I do not need, but I plan to upgrade it out of principle because it is an excellent and useful program. Thanks to the programmers.

Very unintuitive. I recorded a simple memo, and this app made it very hard to figure out something as basic as playing it.

Life saving app. Could not find an app that I can record my voice and repeat it now I can record all the answers and spelling on my vocab quiz and fall asleep to it repeating!!!! Thank you so much!!!

Quality sound. This app is user friendly, and converts audio to so many formats. The sound quality on my iPhone 7 plus is just outstanding.

Love the Simplicity. I love the simplicity of this recorder but even does a great job with recording. And the added bonus that I can edit the clips within the app. Wonderful addition to my iPhone.

A life saver!. I use this app to record my VO auditions as well my commercials recordings. As a VO actor is very important to have a reliable tool to deliver to sound engineers and this app is an excellent tool for me. It has many features that you can use and change to get the sound you're looking for depending your project. Highly recommended.
