Its difficulty is polarizing!. This is a great game, with fantastic Game Boy art. But it's also a very difficult game! It takes a while to get familiar with the controls. Don't give up, though—the game is not unfair. Unlike other challenging games, this one is built to teach you the controls, with great level design. It's pretty rewarding when you pass a certain point in the difficulty curve. I'm loving it!

Love it or hate it. I love it. I really like this game. I'm surprised it's not more popular. The look of it reminds me of playing on my old black and white gameboy which is cool. And I like how the difficulty isn't too hard but it's definitely a challenge. This game was most likely inspired in one way or another by flappy bird but it's very different. Don't pass this game off as just another flappy bird knock off because it's not. Thanks for reading! May God bless you all!

Cool controls.. Try it. Really. Very neat. Hold phone like a gameboy, one finger left, one finger right. Alternate holding (or tapping) each finger. Each finger always corresponds to its unique direction of rotation. If you get overwhelmed at any point, get into an infinite loop by just holding one finger. Music is soothing and familiar feeling. As you play, you notice more and more art as if in a 3-D space. The concept with the birdies and dreamlike flying is really neat. The menu is super intuitive.

Good game! Don't listen to 1stars. A great game, easy to learn. The one star people that crashed into walls for "25 minutes trying to beat the first level" are sadly either mentally handicapped, or really too stupid learn that pressing the right side of the screen makes you turn clockwise and the left side of the screen makes you go counterclockwise. ALSO, GRAVITY EXISTS! If you don't press a button, the bird will turn towards the ground, turning whichever direction is closest to facing 180* downwards. People saying mastery is impossible probably play minimal challenge games meant for 5-8 year olds, just learn the controls, learn to use the wide open spaces in the levels to prenavigate the thinner corridors. Yeah you'll hit walls every now and then, but keep trying. I can agree that they should implement some kind of reward system such as costumes for your bird and whatnot, but that could be a future addition. Took down a star because apparently when it's not featured it costs 2.99, I wouldn't pay that for this game, maybe .99

Infuriating!. If you enjoy games that leave you feeling frustrated and unsuccessful, this may be the game for you! Do you look for games with difficult, confusing movements and controls? Do you like to get so angry that you throw your iPhone across the room due to a momentary lapse of reason?? Then YOU should download 8-bit doves today! Reminiscent of Flappy Bird, not only is this game next to impossible to advance in, it is also completely pointless! Have fun destroying your phone and other valuables in a fit of rage because you can not get past that level! Warning: do not download this app without first purchasing insurance on your device. 8-bit doves is not responsible for damages.

Deserves 5 stars when free. App of the week made this game accessible and boy am I glad I not only played but also waited instead of paying. 8-Bit Dove has the Immediate feel of Flappy Birds when you start off, having to tap to fly up or down. After level one, the comparisons to Flappy Bird cease (and if your over the age of 5 and enjoy actual gameplay, is a great thing). This game has just the right amount of difficulty. As the levels progress, the difficulty increases. It became addicting because each level seemed beatable but was just a little out of reach. After 50-60 try's on a level, when you finally beat it, you are left with a feeling of accomplishment. Another pro is the speed in which the level starts over. No need to hit replay or X out of an AD. You die and then simply start again 1 second later. Only negative I'd say is length of game. It consists of 3 sections of 10 levels. Since many of the levels can be beaten in 10 seconds, this game ended quick. I downloaded last night, beat it today, total gameplay about 30-45 min. Well deserved 5 Stars for a free App of the Week.

A Perfect Tribute to GB.. Now.... I'm sure that this may come as a shocker to Angry Bird fans everywhere... but handheld games were once in... BLACK AND WHITE! (gasp) They weren't something you could just "download" onto your smart phone. We used to pay a decent amount of money on things called "cartridges"... these little square little things that you would load into this thing called a Game Boy. It was much heavier than an iPhone... and it required new AA batteries every two hours. This game-- is a tribute to that time long long ago. The game is literally a journey into the mind of an old school gamer. It crams everything we old school gamers experienced from Game Boy games-- into a beautiful little nightmare. The constant restarting of a level, when I "almost had it"... that's one of the things I loved. One of the things you don't really see in games anymore. The game is beautiful... innovative... and eerie. For those that want to experience what it was like to play handhelds in the 90's (or if you want to relive it all over again)... download this title. Cheers to rechargeable batteries!

To the "Flappy Bird" enthusiasts.. Flappy Bird? Why do you keep saying that word? I do not think it means what you think it means. For people who keep saying this game is exactly like flappy bird or even similar to flappy bird, go play flappy bird before you make wildly idiotic assumptions about this game. Also, play this game past the first 5 seconds before you give it a one star review. This game is nothing like flappy bird other than the fact that the main character flies and there are also birds in it. This game has a difficult but accomplishable structure. The controls are intuitive and the level design is fantastic. The graphics look very nice and fit with the style and theme. If you don't get it, then you ain't from there. Most people base there bad reviews that this "free" game is too hard for them or is exactly like another above said game. Well, they're half right. The game does have a high level of difficulty which quickly scales up. But failure never feels like it comes at poor game design, but rather user error. It is a fair game. I enjoyed the 20 minutes I spent playing it before I realized I had other things to do today. So I say try it. Why not? It's free.

I got as far as Level 3-9 before I threw my hands in the air like I just didn't care!. This game... My goodness this game is an artistic masterpiece. The "hints" of a plot given throughout most levels of the game are absolutely tantalizing and very deep indeed. For those that want a quick fix of distraction from their daily life, this is NOT your game. Do not play this because you will end up more stressed before your next interview, office duty, exam, or class. I compare this to the game "Fez". It is just that good! Cryptic, difficult, simple, yet keeps you wanting to know more... What happened... The controls are perfect. If your fingers aren't sore after playing this for an hour or two, you're not doing it right!! I love these types of games. I wish it weren't as difficult as I really would like to finish the game and find out the story, but alas, I could only get so far before the difficulty got too high for me. Great game! Truly deserving of 5 stars. Excellent work!

Unnecessary Difficulty. This game would be fine with me if it actually rewarded you. It's very, very difficult to figure out the controls in the beginning, as there is no tutorial. Instead, the one guide that you get is 2 hands poking at your screen in boxes. It took me (literally) 15 minutes to barely figure out the controls. After completing the first level, I was sure there was going to be some reward, and there wasn't. I have to be honest; this isn't how to make a game, simply because of its pointless difficulty with no reward. I'm fine with a hard game, but if all I get after 25 minutes of pointlessly running into walls and finally completing one level is nothing but a higher spot on a scoreboard, then I can't say I'd spend my time playing it.

Difficult and Rewarding. This is my favourite game since Duet. It is challenging, but not to the point where it gets so frustrating that I want to stop playing (like Mr. Jump). The controls are simple, but they are perfect for the game. Right spins you clockwise, and left is counter-clockwise. They made it interesting though; if the character flips over, the controls invert. This is the reason people are complaining about 'random controls.' This game also has a surprising level of depth. Every level is a new challenge, and most have a new mechanic as well. I completed the whole game with all the doves in ~4 hours spread over 3 days. That is not the mark of a game that is too hard. If I had to pick one thing to change, it would be the number of levels. I wish the game was longer (or at least had replay value beyond collecting all the doves).

A retro gamer's paradise. This game is great. I love the coloring scheme and the music. It's just like I'm playing a Gameboy again! Also this game is not easy. It reminds me of games like castlevania and mega man. It's hard but the controls are tight, and if you master them you will go far. All these whiners giving this game 1 star are all but hurt because they are used to being handed everything in life on a silver platter. Video games weren't always so easy and whining will get you no where. I'm sorry so many of you didn't take the time to appreciate this game.

Gr8 Game m8. I don't usually write positive reviews for games, but this one is great. The controls aren't very good, but if you get used to them, the game is slightly easier. The only problem I have with this game is that it doesn't have that many levels. There are 3 packs, and each one has 10 levels. You should also add some sort of story. When you complete the last level, the doves take the mask off that guy on the title screen. There is also a message in some level (I think 2-6) that says "WAKE UP", which might imply that the main character is in a dream. If you don't add a story, some sort of explanation would be nice. For those of you that want a challenging game, you should definitely download this.

Good game. Yes it's hard. Really hard. But it's still a great game. There's nothing wrong with a game being incredibly difficult. The concept is simple and the graphics are nostalgic, what more could you want? Admittedly it's not my style of game and a lot of people won't like it a lot, that doesn't mean you have to bash it. Two thumbs up to the people who made this game 👍👍

Honestly Pretty Good!. So I hear a lot of you saying this is a clone of flappy bird. While it is similarly difficult, this game deserves much more coverage than flappy bird. Unlike flappy bird, this game has an actual goal other than "OMYGODCANIJUSTREACHANTHENEXTPIPETODAYPLEASE!!!" I love the gameboy inspired design (To those complaining about it not being in color: you're missing the point). The control scheme, while challenging, much more intuitive than flappy bird's. However, this game does not deserve a five star review. I am honestly sick of all of the "OMG SO DIFFICULT!!!!!" games that have been flooding the App Store. Overall, Nitrome have delivered a new high-difficulty game that's better than the croud.

To those controller freaks. The game is absolutely fabulous! And to the people that are saying the controls switch at random, (news flash) they don't. Pushing the right side of the screen will make him turn clockwise and counterclockwise for the left side of the screen. Whenever he gets to 12 o'clock, he will switch directions. When there is nothing touching the screen, he will go downwards whichever way he is facing. You are haters. The controls are actually quite smooth.

Lovely game! Very entertaining!. This game is loads of fun to anyone who plays it. The retro style is lovely, and reminds me of the old cartoons similar to Felix the Cat. The pixelation also reminds me of the Game Boy I had when I was younger. It's very entertaining, and the calming atmosphere and difficult gameplay give it a good blend of difficulty, yet not mind boggling frustration. It's very fun, and I could play this for hours! Lovely job, keep up the great work!

Two Thumbs Up & Two Thumbs Steady !. This exhilarating game is a very exciting one where there are several variables in the aerodynamics category; which makes it challenging , addicting and overall fun. 8Bit-Dove has mastered it's retro style pixel art which has extraordinary graphics comparable any first generation hand held games, and sega games such as your favorites - Pokemon or Zelda. Yet there's no story, but you take on a heavy sleeper who's not so aware of his surroundings and yea.. Just don't wake him up. But remember it's all about the doves. Go back for doves. And to the first comment, I agree... This is nothing like "FLAPPY BIRD" BUT... It's like a rebirth of "RETRY" a other good game, that you should try... Except I like 8bit-Dove better...... You can do figure eights in this one!! Except it's no retry points, no upgrades and nothing to slow you down... Good Luck ! Happy Dove Collecting !

Love it!. Like others say, it hearkens back to days of 'ol with the great graphics and hint of a story. At first, I did not like it, because I, too couldn't "figure out" the controls. When you start, it makes it seem like you have to tap the screen to make the character fly. I finally figured out "oh…! You keep pressing on the screen! Duh." When I figured that out, it didn't become easy, it's still very challenging, as someone said, the controls aren't "random," if you flip the character over, it reverses. I am really enjoying this game. I have actually never played Flappy Bird, so I can't comment, but I do like playing it on my iPad more than my 5s. YMMV.

Why are people complaining?. I see a lot of people complaining about the controls and how the game is to hard.. It's suppose to be difficult! People say it is impossible, well I beat the game after two days of playing it so obviously not impossible. Maybe instead of complaining you should go play he game and practice.

Frustrating but really fun. First off, this app is not for people who get hilariously angry over a game. I'd argue that most, if not all, of the 1 star reviews are people who got way too frustrated because the game is more challenging than they are used to. With that said, if you are not one of those people, it can still get very frustrating at times, but I found it to be very entertaining. The controls can be quite difficult to get the hang of at first (I don't say master because, as others have mentioned, the controls aren't something you would expect most people to master, merely get accustomed to). Once you do get the hang of it though, the game becomes rather fun.

People complain too much. People need to stop complaining and giving the game low ratings because they can't figure it out. Ever play an NES game? Or an arcade game? Or any game that doesn't hold your hand and allows any unskilled player to trip through the game to completion? The point of difficult, yet simple, games is to make the player feel accomplished because he actually builds skill and works for the completion of the game. An example is Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Only three things for the player to do: punch high, low, and dodge. The game is hard for many people. When someone finally beats Tyson, they get nothing, just a screen that says "good job." Yet, when I first beat the game, I freaked out and felt like a god. If a game is difficult or hard to understand, figure it out.

Great game! Tight controls!. This game has good music, nice Gameboy style graphics, and really tight controls. It's a deceptively simple game that's easy to learn but takes time to master - as a result It's a pretty hardcore game in the difficulty dept. Learning curve aside though, it's a really short game once you've mastered the controls - however the dev did make an endless version available for free called ENDLESS DOVES, which has other birds that you can unlock - it's worth checking out.

Awesome game but frustrating. I love this game my only problems are the controls. They are so freaking hard to control. But besides that, I love the design and music and how it all seems that (game theory time!!) he's not really sleeping but uses some system like the game boy and inserts these cartridges to travel these cool different levels and worlds. But all in his mind. Idk it's just a thought. Right now I'm on the second cartridge but I think I'm gonna delete the game because I just want to break my phone with a sledgehammer of how diificult it is.

Its a guessing game. The controls will switch depending on the level and has random difficulty spikes to make it "challenging." The moving platforms don't reset when you die so if they are off screen you cant time yourself to go at the right time. Some levels are annoying because everything is too close together so instead of trying to deal with the problem like moving at platforms the real challenge comes from your narrow pathways and confusing controls that are impossible to get use to because there will be a different challenge in the next level so you cant expect to stay consistent. I guess you are supposed to collect doves but nothing directly says that or maybe i didn't read it but its still kind of fun which is why after that I will give it a 2

I'm giving it up. Too hard for me😫. This game is for hard-core players. It needs time and effort to adapt to the game control. So I practiced quite a bit and finally managed to get to Pack3(I didn't count but I think I died like hundreds of time to get there). I did it only because I really, awfully wanted to see the ending, but Pack3 was literally a night mare😬😬😬 and it wasn't fun anymore. I stopped playing it as I was too upset to keep going. And now I'm feeling terrible and frustrated😩😩😩 I shouldn't have downloaded it...

Really, people?. If you are stupid and stubborn, don't get this app. I got it when it was free as app of the week, but would pay to have it if I had to. The controls are simply you tap left to make the guy go to his left, right to make him go right. The reward is you beat the level, and you may feel some accomplishments when you gather each of the doves. Beautiful graphics even on my iPhone 4. Don't let the stupid people influence your decision. Get this game.

It's not THAT bad!. I don't normally write reviews, but because this game is getting such low ratings, I felt it was my duty to tell the world to GIVE THIS GAME A CHANCE! Yes, it does bring out the same emotions as Flappy Bird (blinding rage), but that's where the similarities end. I would label it as a puzzle game; each level has it's own quirks and needs to be mastered individually. This is the total opposite of Flappy Bird, where you can master the controls once and be set to go. Yes, it's challenging, so if you're looking for a brain dead game to just help you pass the time, go download the Kardashian game. I personally don't like the old-school gameboy graphics, but that's just my opinion. I can see why some people would love it, since it's very nostalgic. Anyway, just give it a chance. It's free. Don't like? Delete. But you might end up loving it!

Lovely game, all in all!. My game experience: When I first downloaded this game, I played it for five minutes, then deleted it. This happened twice or so. After re-downloading this game for the third time, I thought, "it's the app of the week, how hard can it be?" So I played it again, first tapping the screen rapidly, then realizing that you HOLD THE SCREEN DOWN TO MOVE. I laughed at myself a few times, then started to enjoy the game! I played it more and more and I liked it more and more each time! A lot of the bad reviews are about how this game is too difficult. Or how the controls are impossible to learn. Well I've learned them, and so has most of the school that I go to as well! About the game: The graphics are mesmerizing, the music is wonderful, and original. And the game story is funny and extremely creative! A hobo dreaming of flying and obsessively collecting doves? Hilarious! You can't find a flaw in a made up story! 😂 To be real: Every game causes the player to come to their breaking point where they badly fail at breaking their device. But I love this game so much that I figured out, to make it easier to play, 😘turn off the games sound😌 the music is peaceful, but the sound of yourself dyeing over and over is enraging. So turn that feature off! I do wish that had made more levels, fingers crossed for an update! 😊

You have to be an idiot not to understand the controls. I'm reading the reviews and I constantly am seeing people saying "The controls are terrible." THE CONTROLS ARE LITERALLY TWO FREAKING BUTTONS. One button is to move left and the other is to obviously move right. You have to be either a mental patient or an extremely stupid person not to understand the controls. People nowadays are so used to crappy pay2win games like Angry Birds, Candy Crush, etc. that they can't fully enjoy a game that IS FREE and does not have a way to buy your way into winning.

Beautiful, Fun, Challenging. This game seems very polarizing, but having beaten every level with a perfect score I can say that it just takes a little practice to improve, just like any good game should. It's a perfect mobile game, utilizing simplicity and increasing difficulty to enable quick gaming sessions with great reward when a level is beaten. I also love the gorgeous art style, a staple of Nitrome games. There actually is an intriguing story aspect too, though minimal, which I didn't notice until I had almost completed every level. I loved playing as this 8-bit "bum," eventually descending into darkness through his dreams, and releasing myself from the captivity of the doves. Yeah, this game's design is head and shoulders above the rest of the app-store crowd, while still managing to fit in... I just wish there was more (though Endless Doves kind of fills that role).

Wonderful, difficult, polarizing.. The difficulty was unexpected; this game is brutal and does not hint at that fact in the least bit. And that's okay, if minimalistic presentation and try-try-again style gameplay is your thing. The game creates a wonderful fantasy that is like finding an unmarked, unnamed Gameboy cartridge in a garage sale box. The pixel art isn't 100% true to the GB era, but it is gorgeous and the chiptune soundtrack is whimsical. Beware that if steep difficulty is off putting for you, this will not be enjoyable. There are no McGuffins to spur the player on; completing each level is its own reward. This is a refreshing approach to the modern gaming landscape where pay walls, achievements, and social media integration take attention away from pure game mechanics.

Mind-bogglingly mesmerizing!!. I totally agree with the people who compliment this game's music and graphics and story; they are all well done and very charmingly put together. However, I think the biggest selling point is the gameplay that is, while actually very simple, joyously difficult! Holding left on the screen makes the hobo fly one way, and holding right makes him fly the other way, get it? For the people who are criticizing this game on its "random" controls, I'm sorry, but it's no more complicated than left and right, seriously. That said, 8bit Doves is still a fantastically challenging little game, the best I've played in a long while!

Haunting and Great Game!! Nostalgia!. Rewarding! And no guys this isn't a flappy bird rendition, this is much more memorable and satisfy. The jamming 8 bit music just makes you want to break a tear. Jesus people, a little challenge gets you in a bunch? This is just to show how rewarding video games back in the day were. Welcome to the games like mega man, hard as heck! Beautiful graphics, nostalgia, and gameplay is greatly challenging like back in the day. Hey guys, a throwback to the 90's! With beautiful 8 bit music and amazing visuals. What more would you like? And free ?!

Great. Why the hate?. I don't get the reviews that say the controls are bad. They are extremely simple. Touch left go left touch right to right. The game is hard. It takes practice for timing but the controls are perfect. Who wants a game that's so easy you can play through it in a matter of minutes? Look for preschool games if that's what you're after. Just keep playing and you'll get the hang of controlling the character via the (SIMPLE) controls. Like anything in life, you need to practice. Fun game. Great design. Challenging. Ignore the bad reviews especially regarding controls.

Wow!. I was surprised at how fun this game is. Many people are complaining about the controls; this is only because they are not good at the game and want to blame it on something. The controls for the game are very simple. The game was challenging and fun. The only problem was; this was the shortest game I ever played. I beat the game and got every dove in 30 minutes. If you added like 100's more levels I think that would make the game a challenge. Thank you for making this wonderful game!

Fun and addicting. Controls are really simple, Hold left or right to rotate in one particular direction. I don't get why people think the controls are difficult and why they said its unforgiving. It just takes patience and timing. A timer would make it more interesting, or global speed records for collecting doves; like a shadow you follow of the best times runs would be amazing.

Fun! Fun! And more FUN!. Here's how this game goes... I'll just try and beat this level then I'll be done for now. 100 deaths later and it's a win! Well, I might as well see how this next level goes. Oh, that's not so bad. I'll beat this in no time. 100+ deaths later. Okay, okay I'm done! Character dude flops to his death at which point you notice some doves sitting at the bottom of the map you hadn't noticed before... Oooh, I've got to try and collect them! Some time in the future, "mom, what's for dinner?" LOL! This game's great fun! Do not play if you get easily frustrated thou and can't handle a LOT of character deaths! It's a game to be taken lightly and to laugh at yourself when you send bird dude flying into a wall... for the hundredth time. I'd say it's in the genre of Floppy Bird but so much improved and so much better! No one ever complains, after all, that World of Warcraft is just a copy of Ever Quest. One reviewer said the controls change. They don't change, just your perception of them. If flying dude is going up controls are one way, BUT if he's going down they reverse because HE has reversed. It's part of the gameplay and what makes it so challenging and I love it! Hope this makes sense! I love the old gameboy like graphics and game seems to run without flaws. I'm on an iPad Air 2.

Challenging, but rad game!. I normally never write reviews, but I've felt the need to take the time to write this one. To the people saying that this game is similar to "Flappy Bird", please, go play Flappy Bird, and then go play this game. Where you shall notice, these two games are NOT similar in any way. Now, many people are saying that the controls in this game are "too complicating" and make the game "unplayable". I will admit, the controls do take some time getting used to, and do indeed make the game challenging. However, the controls do not make the game unplayable at all. The controls actually do have a pattern when you're playing the game. Meaning, they don't unexpectedly change or anything! You just got to actually take the time and use your brain a tiny bit to figure out how the controls work. The game is completely playable. I've gotten quite far into the game, and it doesn't take rocket science to get pass each level. You just can't let your frustration get the best of you. This game is meant to make you think and use strategy. If you're not a fan of using your brain a little, then, this game is not for you. The graphics are really great and remind me of older gaming days. I think they really fit this game and are just flawless. This game does deserve five stars.

"Too Hard". So, the game is not hard and the controls are fine. it's really not bad if you give it more than two seconds. Actually all the bad reviews are about how the player couldn't get passed a certain level, not because they were bad at it, but because (since they couldn't beat it) the game was made unreasonably hard. Well, I'm proof the game isn't that hard, because I've beat it and collected all the doves. That being said (spoilers) the ending sucked, hence the 4 stars.

makes me want to sledgehammer my phone. Beautiful graphics alone cannot (rather, SHOULD not) make this App of the Week. And I wish it hadnt been, because now I want to throw my phone against a hard surface. So thanks, App Store. Thanks a lot. I second everything everyone else has said: the controls are ridiculous. There is no way to master this game. It would be fun if it was like the game it's clearly ripping off of: (we all know it, dont lie) the great HELICOPTER GAME. You need to be able to actually figure out the controls to make this game fun and rewarding. Instead, I made it to level 5 before deciding I could no longer crash into the same floating square without going insane. I am hoping they update it due to the onslaught of negative reviews and make it actually playable, because I will be the first in line to re-download it. I have only limited space on my phone so I will be deleting this until it is improved. So get on it.

Add a Story?. Thank you dearly Nitrome for such an incredibly gorgeous and inspiring game. The graphics, the music, and the theme of flight are all extremely incredible, and I've beaten this game so many times that I want more! Adding a sad and interesting storyline could really make this game something else, and I think the dark and apocalyptic world sets a perfect layout for a story and character development. Overall a fantastic game an definitely worth the money. I love it!

The right kind of difficult. Let's be clear: this is not an easy game, and it's not supposed to be. It will make you curse, but at your failure and not the developer's: for the most part it's the right kind of hard, where there's a lot of luck involved but victory is both achievable and satisfying. The Game Boy graphics honestly aren't that appealing. There's a reason we moved past that. Some games make sense in a reduced color scheme, like Limbo; this isn't one of those games.

Okay for a few minutes…. Fun premise/unique controls/nostalgic atmosphere = fun…. That is, until the controls become frustratingly awkward. Seriously, this game lloked like a real winner at first, but after crashing into a wall after a half-second of playing about 10 times in a row, it gets old quick. With better controls or different modes or abilities, i might would consider picking this up again. After all, I love the graphics, music, and idea… but if this is all there is to it, I cant imagine how bored I'd have to be to ram my head against the wall with this for 20, or even 10 levels.

What the developers don't understand. If a game is supposed to be difficult then the player needs to feel rewarded. The controls are very random and will switch at random points which makes replay ability almost none. As you go along you aren't mastering the game more, you are just mastering one level and forgetting the rest. I also played enough of the game to notice that the turn radius while flying can be completely different between levels and sometimes between parts of a level. Now back to the point of feeling rewarding, when you make a challenging game people need to feel like they accomplished something or else they are not going to want to continue playing. The reason for why completing a level isn't rewarding enough is because throughout the level you die so many times to the point when you finally beat it you are still angry about the other deaths. Why 2 stars? The art design is beautifully nostalgic and brought me back to the days of the original gameboy. If the controls were better this game would be more fun and would feel more rewarding.

Awful controls. Charming design and music, but the controls are frustratingly difficult to master (I guess this is the point of the game, but I just don't need this kind of frustration in my life). The problem lies in the directionality of the input --- pressing the left side of the screen makes you go up when flying horizontally, while pressing right makes you go down. What flux this all up is when you must fly vertically, and then end up flying to the left of the screen: all the controls are reversed. The first few levels were enjoyable enough until vertical/opposite directional flight comes in, but after that, you quickly tire of slamming into the same obstacle(s) over and over and over... [DELETED]!

Great game, screw the one star raters,. As a fan of Nitrome games I had to give this one a try even if it had quite a few bad reviews. Most of the low ratings are based on how hard the game is and how bad the controls are. The controls aren't that hard to understand, tap right to go clockwise and left to go counterclockwise, with gravity pulling you down for extra difficulty. I have not played a level yet that couldn't have been won with small changes in the timing of my taps or the path I followed. The game is great and I feel that you should play it before giving in to a few bad reviews.

Just perfection. This game has a charm to it, that even though you rage at the game you know it's your fault, and you fell even more proud when you beat a level because of the mistakes you've been through, making you more interested in the next level. this is something that little to few games have. So if you're bored and you want a game to challenge you and still fell like a great game, then download 8 bit doves.

So addictive 😳. This game is extremely difficult, and fun at the same time. I usually don't play any games on my phone that require much attention, but this game has captivated me. The sounds and music are cool and remind you of something that you used to play on your GamBoy years ago. No lags or glitches, and the controls are a lot more fun to use than the type you may expect for this type of game.

8bit don't!. This game contains ads. Paid games should be ad free.

Nice concept. Although a bit repetitive, so might be better with a story

T. Colour would be nice and to hard

8 bit dove. This game is hard and is not recommended 6 out of 10

Debonair. An amazing game that is worth every single cent. The graphics are nostalgic and stylish, while the gameplay is splendid. There is no quirks that make the game bad. I would recommend to everybody.

Not fun. Sorry, the gameplay just doesn't do anything for me. Controls are frustrating and it and it gets very repetitive, very quickly. Lovely graphics and sound, nice theme, but the gameplay just isn't fun.

Hard to steer. I appreciate the old school graphics but after a bout 20 seconds of play the steering started to $hit me and I deleted the game.

8-Dove. It's annoying how it's hard to steer

Really fun game that needs an update!. Very fun retro style game. It’s a bit difficult at first but you get the hang of it. I know this game is a million years old but I just found it now so here’s a couple of suggestions anyway: - Add in a haptics for the controls. This is really simple but would greatly improve the experience. When I play GB/GBA on an iPhone I always turn off the on-screen controls and enable haptics. This way you can get a better sense of where the touch target actually is without intruding on the game. I think that would work really well for this game too. - Update for iPhone X style phones. Right now the aspect ratio looks off, and it makes the controls feel cramped. Otherwise this game is challenging but great fun!

Childhood memories. I love this game for the pure fact it reminds me of my first gameboy. The graphics, the scene transitions and the controls all make me feel like in 8 again, staying up late, playing my gameboy late into the night.

Somebody owes me 30 seconds. Awful game. Already deleted.

Ugh. This game is fun at the start but after about 3 levels of the same thing it gets SUPER boring and it's VERY hard to steer!

8BitDoves. Love the retro graphics but it is to hard to steer the guy like there's to controls down and up and it gets sometimes confusing so I reckon give it a go and say what you think😄

Retro Dopeness. I originally brushed this off as another Flappy Bird ripoff, but downloaded out of curiosity. I was pleasantly surprised. It had clean retro graphics and music and even though it got very difficult i couldnt stop going back. In other words "Was gr8 m8 i r8 8/8."

brilliant. Love the art and mechanic. Tough but rewarding

有意思. 操控很灵敏,很锻炼反应,界面复古

What a surprise. Oh nitrome, you never fail to surprise me, I never saw this one coming until you announced it, it bit hard but there is a lot of content which adds up to hours of fun, well done, I take my hat off to you nitrome, I really do.

Fun one hour game. It's a fun game that should take you an hour to beat. Smooth controls and quick gameplay.

Decent Game. Contrary to the popular opinion this game is actually pretty decent. Firstly, the graphics are nice and I like how they emulate the original GameBoy style but they would benefit from some colour. Secondly, the controls aren't great and need some tweaking, currently they don't feel very responsive. I encourage the devs not to give up and I would love to see a platform er done in a similar graphical style!

Infuriating and Addictive. Just the right mix of fun and challenging, getting progressively more frustrating as it goes along, I felt a sense of accomplishment after finally beating it 100%. Amazing graphics and sound for a nostalgic feel, and just like the Game Boy days I spent way too much time going for that perfect score.

The controls ruin it. I love the look of the game. It looks and sounds like what a Game Boy version of Little Nemo on NES would be like. Unfortunately, the controls ruins it. It's hard to understand how the buttons will move you, and you turn far too slowly at the speed you're travelling to adequately navigate the levels. The challenge should be from the level design, not from wrestling with the controls. Dev, please heed my words. This game is far too pretty for you to let the controls ruin it. Fix them and this game can be great.

A flappy bird wanna be. Stupid game, waste of time, control is awful. Not fun. Why can't devs make fun games any more. Gone are the days when you pay $1 for a game you don't have to keep retrying or pay for in-app stuff.

It's free, but I want my time back. It's really that bad.

Not even good at all. So stupid! Don't get it because it's garbage

Garbage. One word .. Garbage

Useless. Play a game boy themed game on the most expensive HD tablet... Be real, Play bike baron instead, at least they dont do a bunch of idiotic games.

Bad. This game is really bad. The controls are awful and so frustrating. It's a flappy bird wanna be and don't waste your time.

Love this game!. Not sure why this game is getting such harsh reviews- it's a simple game with a beautiful yet subtle narrative with graphics and soundtrack that will take you back to the 8-bit gameboy era. The controls are dead simple (despite other reviewers opinion) and the levels are well designed. I only wish there were more levels as I was able to beat all of them, with all birds in a few hours. All in all, wonderful game.

A good game!. This is a good game, for all of you complaining about the controls, yes it's challenging, that's the point. I think it's neat! It would be nice if there was some sortif reward for collecting all doves.

Junk. Yes instructions of some type would have been nice. No instructions and horrible controls must be a game feature. Even after figuring out the controls I'm left wondering why they even bothered to let you try and control it.

Fun. Beat it in an hour, the controls were easy to understand. Good art, music and a good difficulty progression! Only complaint is it's too short.

Avarage. An above avarage game that limmited by poor difficulty progression. Pros •Stylish •Controls provide a good challenge Cons •Adds on a pay app •heavy learning curve due to control difficulty and poor difficulty progression All in all, this game is worth your time. If you enjoy challenging games, that are at times rather unforgiving, yet rewarding.

Don't waste your time.. Bad controls and ridiculous difficulty. Don't waste your time even though it's free.

Beautiful art but frustrating controls. The art is really wonderful in this game reminiscent but not a complete copy of the early gameboy era. The downfall in the game is in its controls. They are interesting but hard to get a hold of. The controls feel like the old Helicopter game but "gravity" affects your character in multiple directions which makes navigating vertical corridors very difficult. I would say give it a shot due to the lovely art direction, but I won't be playing this again until the controls are improved.

Great. Contrary to the belief of most other reviews, I actually really really like this game. I never had a problem with the controls/responsiveness or any other aspect. The graphics suit the game and the level design is challenging. I've played through all the levels twice now and I still enjoy it. The only thing I have to say negatively is that I find it sort of short, possibly a future update adding a new world or maybe a new mode would shed some new light on this wonderful game.

Challenging game. I think the control instructions displayed at the start could be more clear. At first I thought I had to tap left and right over and over but after a few minutes I was able to figure it out but I think for most ppl they can't be bothered to get used to te controls or the game is too challenging at such an early part of the game. I personally kinda like the challenge.

Why the hate?. I don't get the vitriol over such a simple, attractive, challenging game. I mean, Flappy Bird was cheap and it showed. It was basically broken but people loved it for some reason. This actually works, the aesthetics are gorgeous, sound pleasant, gameplay hard but far from impossible. My only beef was, like Gunbrick, it's short on levels but not so short you feel robbed. Plus right now you're getting it for free. So again, why so angry?

worst game ever. This game is the worst game ever it is bad because you can't move right and at least give us a tutorial the left and right controls are mixed up and dump the controls swich every game.👎

More frustrating than Flappy Bird. I give this game credit for its lovely retro Gameboy graphics and sound. But that's really the only redeeming feature it has to offer. The controls are clunky and unresponsive. You'll end up flying into walls repeatedly. It's like Flappy Bird, only more frustrating, and without the inexpicable addictive quality.

Stupid. This game is stupid it should be free.

Pretty Bad. I feel bad for those who actually bought this garbage. Should be at least in a pack with something else, not a standalone.

All retro style; No substance. The controls in this game are horrible. It takes way too long to change direction due to the long animation which seems to take priority over everything else.

Update iOS 11. I want to play this game in iOS 11. Update 8bit Doves now, please!!

Ignore the reviews, it's great.. The controls are honestly not that difficult, and the game has a great nostalgic feel to it. The controls do take some getting used to, but I got it down in 5 minutes, and now it's a blast just flying through obstacles. It's very precise if you get the hang of it. Kind of reminds me of flappy birds, the way the controls work.

Please update it!. Please add iOS 11 support for the app to make it 64 Bit compatible!

Difficult But Fun. This is defiantly one of the hardest full games I have played, however it is a fair difficulty which makes completing levels feel like an achievement. the controls function well, the levels are well made, and the app is stable and bug-less and the graphics look good.

Addicting.. I love it! Amazing app!

8-bit nostalgia goodness. The reviews aren't giving this free game any justice. The work on behalf of the dev team is great, good artwork and spot-on 8bit nostalgia. The mechanics are simple to pick up yet hard to master. I recommend anyone who is in there mid to late 20s and grew up with a game boy pocket to check this game out.

Okey.... Gets boring after 2 mins

Retry clone. Remember Retry? This is the same game, but with 1 extra button

Terrible. I would rate it 0 stars if I could. I hate this stupid game!!!

Awesome game. This game is the best

For an 80s-90s crowd. When reviews are divided as they are here, it usually means it's a niche game. Which it is. If you are under 16, you probably won't appreciate or enjoy this. If you are a little older however, this game is a gem.

Worst Game. I have no idea what this game does

Ignore the bad reviews. So many of the reviews have been saying that the controls are terrible and that it's too hard ya well guess what? My 4 year old sister beat this game in like a DAY. In other words, if you are bad at this game , you have less intelligence than a monkey

Impossible. Every great game must strike a good balance of challenge and triumph; of gating and new content. This game... has a nice look and sound. Good luck trying to get all the doves on level one.

Epic. Lol those haters being poor

Hard and short. I just aced the game. It's really challenging and it's fun to replay the levels to get all the doves, but it's super short and it's definitely for a niche crowd.

Ode to 1-star reviews. Old-school gamers, rejoice. This what video games are supposed to be. I'd pay a dollar for this app. To those screaming for a tutorial or lacking the intuition to figure out the controls, you made my day with your tears.

Flappy Bird, with nicer aesthetic and controls. Let me start by saying I don't think I would pay for this game. But as a free app of the week, im liking it so far. I figured "what the hell, even with these reviews, its free." You go up or down by pressing both sides of the screen, guiding your way through levels of gameboy-ish graphical quality, optionally collecting (as far as i can tell so far at level 6) doves that follow you. It has the same mechanics as Flappy Bird, but it somehow doesn't feel nearly as rage-inducing. Perhaps im just easily entertained but the darker colored visuals and 8-bit music actually make me feel relaxed. The controls also feel very responsive, despite what other people are saying (Im on an iPad2). I really don't think this game deserves its somewhat low rating, especially for free. Give it a shot!

Really hard. This is not an easy game, and the controls take time to get used to. But it's beautiful and challenging and worth a shot.

Fun, simple, and interesting. 8bit Doves has a very simple control scheme yet is still fun and challenging. It's easy to pick up and play for a few minutes to a few hours. Although the amount of levels might be on the short side, it's still a captivating game with nostalgic graphics and befitting music.

Controls are awful. Need I say more?

Challenging game!. I guess haters gonna hate! I don't get the wave of negative comments and ratings, this game is really fun! It might not be for everyone though as the level are REALLY challenging, but not impossible. I'm already at the 3rd world and I LOVE IT! It a perfect example of a simple game (short levels, "simple" but nice graphics, easy controls) that shines through the perfection of a simple gameplay mechanic! Good job !

Too basic?. Learning the controls on the first level took me 25 minutes! After I learned them I soar through the great game. (For those who don't know the controls like me it's hold left click to fly up, and hold right for down.)

The next Flappy Bird. This game is so addicting and frustrating. I love the art style and the gameplay. I would like a shop option where you can customize your character and the birds. Good job!

More levels. Great game but I really hope they add more levels!

Great Challenge/Excellent Throwback. Sincerely enjoyed the challenge and aesthetics of this game. Really felt great when completing challenging levels and found only one level that was pretty punishing. I did beat the game though so I feel the difficulty was obviously something that could be triumphed! Thanks for this awesome experience!

Great game with nostalgic graphics!. This game is awesomely addicting and equally frustrating. I love the graphics and simplistic controls. I just wish there were more level packs. 100% All doves collected :-)

Challenging, but fun. This game is not like flappy bird at all, it takes similar controls and fleshes them out to create scenarios that seem to bend physics. I encourage everyone to try this game out, better and more beautiful than flappy bird; and definitely more rewarding

Great game with actual difficulty. I'm not sure how you explain 3 star reviews for this game. It is well designed, has excellent controls, and is more forgiving than a lot of old-school games (I'm looking at you contra).

Oh, so that's how it works!. When I first started playing this game, I was confused by the difficulty of the controls. I did short, rapid clicks for the first few levels, and somewhere along the lines I learned that if you press and hold, you have SO much more control, and the game becomes much more enjoyable. Love it.

Difficult, but for the wrong reasons. I don't mind super difficult games---when they're fair. 8-bit Doves has somewhat weak collision detection, which makes it difficult to predict when your character will die. Sometimes you'll clearly be touching a wall and live, and sometimes you'll have room to spare and die. It makes success too arbitrary, and the game not very fun.

Shame. One cannot help but make the Flappy Bird comparison and that is somewhat fair. This is a well-made 8-bit game, though, with excellent music. The controls are simple and the animations are also quite well-done. Out of all of this, the shameful similarity it has to Flappy Bird is the gameplay itself. This could have been an uniquely amazing game as a platformer of sorts.

-. This game is a little challenging but after a few tries you'll get the hang of it. I think the art and design of this game is very beautiful and the gameplay is fairly smooth. I think it's very fun and I would recommend it.

Love it 👌. This game is so great at first I thought ooh look this is one of those kind of games... But then I was addicted. In less Than a week I completed all the levels and now I don't even know what to do anymore. I was addicted on my first day. For all of those people who think this game is bad. Then you don't know what a good game is

How is Deep sleep level 7 possible?. With the Deep sleep season 2 part of the 8-bit doves on level 7, A NEW BIT! There's surprisingly a key! I am having SERIOUSLY trouble with dis plz tell me the best strategy! I've got past the moving boxes-how r u supposed to get the key and get out?

Great game, but.... 8Bit Doves is a very beautifully created game that can easily help you pass time. The only problem I have with it is the fact that there's no instructions when it comes to new obstacles, also, level 9 on the last level is extremely hard, very different from every other level (it's taken me days now, I finally got close to beating it but failed).

One of the finest games on the App Store. Tight controls, beautiful visuals, good content. It's just a pleasure to play. It's on the challenging side though, just in case you don't like that (you should though). Just get it!

Great Game, Wish there was more. Cool art style and a good balance of difficulty. Only wish it was updated to fit newer iPhone screens and had more levels

Fun retro graphics but that's it. The gameplay seems ok but by the third level, it gets too difficult and I lost interest. The level design is pretty poor. There is no walk through in the beginning just pictures of two on screen buttons. Perhaps maybe ONE instruction would be helpful. The music is on the first three levels seems pretty good but like I said I got bored by the third level.

Not for everyone.. If you don't like these kinds of puzzle games, you won't like this one! Quit whining! The flight is smooth (once you get it), the aesthetics are cool, and the challenge is satisfying. Definitely worth the playthrough.

50 shades of game. I didn't enjoy much beyond the graphics. Here's why: The controls aren't very intuitive although they're simple the fact that they flip when character goes vertical makes it an exercise in frustration. If you hate your life and want to memorize tap patterns by trial and error for the sake of self-torture this was made for you (masochists).

Not bad!. A lot of people in the reviews are saying that the controls are bad. Im here to say there not bad but challenging. The controls help make the game and if you can't get used to them you should stick to tapping on flappy bird.

Amazing. Addicting.. Just beat the game. Amazing and addicting. I couldn't put it down. Just wish you could have unlocked something after retrieving all the doves.

Why so hard?. Took me a lot of tries to get through this game, and I often felt many times that it was initially trying way to hard to annoy the player. I don’t mind difficult games but between the flappy bird like movements and the no-room-for-error level design I didn’t see the fun in this at all. Graphics are pretty cute.

Effing addictive. I took me about 5 min to learn the controls but once you get to level 5 and above the puzzles and challenges are quite the knee slapper yet I can't stop playing! It you've ever played mega man, you'll understand. 11/10 would bang Get rekt m9

Too Few Levels. The reviews that say this game is impossible must be joking! I completed all levels with just 2 days of play. There are so few levels that it's almost a scam having people pay 3$ for it. Thankfully, I got it when it was App of the Week.

Best memory. This game is like the best it kinda reminds me of my childhood where i would always play these really old games without any colors on a gameboy or something .

If you like this game.... There's better out there. I found this game interesting at first, but the controls are something to leave desired. It's too whippy and random. The orientation of the flying greatly affects your control direction. This gets aggravating real quick like. I wish they would make more GameBoy'esque games like this but not with the brain numbing physics and gravity displayed in this game. It's like flappy bird that flips upside down. If you like this one, then DEFINITELY try "Retry". I won't get into all the 'why it's better'... Just play that instead. The sounds are annoying in this game even as I play. Be prepared for peers to slap the phone out of your hands if playing near people!

Old times. I love this game even though the controls might feel weird, it brings back the memory of the golden age of gaming, it brought back me playing mega man with its textures. Good job guys you have brought back my good times in the past😆

People are Dumb. Don't listen to other reviews. The game is quick and easy to pick up. Learned the simple controls in less than a minute. Mastering the controls is the point of the game so it's s fun challenge. Addicting game, well paced. Don't listen to other reviews. 80s/90s kids will get it.

Bad "Game". Ugh. I hate it when developers are just morons. "Retro" they say without any idea on what it means. How dare you mock it as "Ancient Handheld Device" when it had better games than this. D:< Listen, while older games did have difficult controls, the controls at least worked and didn't rely on guess work. The level design was sound. However, this game's challenge is getting the controls themselves to behave to win, which is NOT a correct way to design the game! It's is ALWAYS obvious on what you need to do in this game. There is no challenge in that. There is no point. There is no real difficulty. It's literally an endurance test to see when you get bored. It's not a game! Ya know, I'm reminded of an inverse "I Wanna Be The Guy" where it is easy, no memorization, and no execution challenge, but you can't control yourself. In short: not even a game. Just bad.

Most frustrating game I ever played. And I have played E.T. For Atari, so thats saying something. 2 stars for an otherwise amazing game. But seriously?? I spent 20 minutes crashing again and again struggling to finish levels. At first it was comical and made me happy wanting to push through it by mastering the controls. But after 5 levels with no real change in mastery, game substance, or sense of reward, I'm just upset. Sorry but I will be removing this from my phone for now. Maybe adding a story element or some type of gratification system in a future update would help.

Very enjoyable. I really like the retro style. This game takes practice but I feel accomplished when I beat each level. I've done everything so far, hoping more levels come with updates.

Its... Mediocre at best.. This game stays true to that retro feel, which is Game Boy games, and quite a few of those things were hard as balls... But... Goddammit if the controls aren't the thing that ALSO mucks up a lot of them, so it seems you guys hit it spot on... But it makes me wonder why it seems so dark at the title screen, what the hell IS this game? Its weird as hell, thats what.

Downloading this game is like running face first into a brick wall!! Just Don't!!. Is there anything more frustrating than having to play the same level over and over again just to understand that the controls are made to make you DIE. The turning isn't quick enough so you have to make perfectly huge loops to fit into tiny spaces if you're waiting for a moving block to align with the stars so you can fart thru it barely with those stupid doves behind you. So just save yourself the mind bleeding. Don't get this free piece of dump.

Would benefit greatly from tutorial. It is a wonder that I didn't delete this game before I figured out the controls. They are so unintuitive that a tutorial is really needed. Once I didn't finally figure out the controls I really enjoyed the game, and wish they'd come out with more levels.

HAHAHAH I LOVE IT! XD just beat it!. LOL this game is funny lol and it's awesome! The music is great and so is the concept of the game! I love how it's like a spin off of NINTENDO stuff lol! The controls aren't that hard actually and it's NOTHING like flappy bird, NOTHING! Also I just beat this game and got all the doves! Took me a couple days :)

Review. You're an overgrown animated 8bit-dove that springs out of bed when the screen is pressed. With intuitive gameplay similar to Iron Pants or the more commonly-known Flappy Bird, you fly radial circles and try to swoop through the obstacles in each level while making smaller birds follow you. If you enjoy simplistic style games and on-the-go, pick-up play then this game is for you. The only rebuttal I can think of is the price of $2.99. I got this game when it was Free and I don't think it would be worth paying money for.

Oddly simple.. At first, the game is rather hard to figure out. But after you get into the flow of things, I found the game to be so straightforward and easy to beat. Every level has the same sort of "repetitive" feel to it, but nevertheless, I quite enjoyed it. I do hate the colors and music of the game though.

Extremely Difficult. This game is extremely difficult but beautifully designed. 10/10 do recommend.

8 bit is back! 👾🎮. They did a great job of recreating the 8 bit Nintendo Gameboy days, from the colors & graphics to the midi music. However the game is ridiculously hard to the point of qualifying as a rage game. I played for like 13 minutes and probably died like 70+ times. The controls react well, but are very confusing. Once you think you get the controls, you don't.

8/10. Worth the Download.. Great game. Challenge was nice, as well as the handling. Although it is an individual game. Try to compare it to anything- flappy bird, iron pants, anything- you'll end up frustrated and annoyed. Solid 8/10, for some completion errors and small glitches, as well as they could have created more of a learning curve.

Perfect game!. This game is so awesome! It looks and sounds like an actual old retro game. The controls are good and responsive. Fun to play, but also gives quite an enjoyable challenge. Must play, trust me you won't regret it!

First impressions. This game is good so far. The graphics are obvious visually appealing, being Nitrome's specialty, but the controls are hard to get used to. All the recent tap-to-flap games contradict heavily with the controls of this game, so it took me a while to figure out that you tap and hold on each side to go in different-direction circles. Still, so far I like it.

Love everything about it!. Great difficulty escalation, lovely music, and simple controls on hard obstacles. I finished the game and I want more level packs and songs! Thank you for being free!

Great throw back experience!. If you are over 32 and remember the good old days of NES and Gameboy, this is the game for you. Yes it's hard, but that's what you grew up with so toughen up! It's controls are similar to flappy bird, but everything else is straight out of the 80's. So if you like old school, give it a shot. You won't regret it.

Why 3 stars?. Well, for one thing it was a very challenging game. And not in the way that any challenging game is...the controls for the game are random and it seems like you can never get better at the game itself as it goes on because of this. The graphics were beautiful though, reminiscent of 90's early 2000's games. I would have enjoyed it more if the controls were easier.

Spectacular game!. I absolutely love this game. It has simple graphics and great music. It took some time but I finally finished every level and every stage! I even managed to collect all the doves in the process! I wish it had more levels and more stages to play, maybe in the future they could add more? I even downloaded endless Doyles! Great game!

Update. This is a good game but u need to add color and and some of the levels are so hard that they're not enjoyable but everything else about this is great it brings a good challenge I will rate this 5 stars if you fix this. Thx

Hard and pointless. Just another very hard pointless game. I wonder where did the 5 stars reviews come from ? I am sure people who gave it 5 stars are the game developers and their friends. Cause for a game that cost 2.99$ it's not worth the pain. If this is 1995 then maybe i would have enjoyed this game and wouldn't complain about the price. But sadly it's 2015, and if i wanted to play retro games my device wouldn't be iphone 6, iphone 3g or 3gs are more suitable for this type of games.

Great, but could use work!. This game is great, I enjoy the visual style, it runs great on the worst devices! But, I found that the controls feel a bit sticky and are confusing after you get into a loop. Other that that fact. I think that this game is great and is amazing for trips, it takes skill and is hard to master!

Tediously difficult, incredibly fun. Wow. The control scheme is simplistic and a bit reminiscent of games like Flappy Bird, and yet the amount of control is far mor balanced. Combined with genius level design, this game is a reflection of what is right in the mobile gaming market. A must download!

NiGHTS into Doves. NiGHTS into Dreams on iOS with frustrating controls.. These guys win the award for originality. No, this is literally NiGHTS into Dreams, to the littlest detail. You're in a dream, and you're flying. Touching walls is bad, and the controls are incredibly simple. It's hard, but ok. If you like this, try out NiGHTS into Dreams. In short, this game is ok, but a clone of a much better game.

Great game! Where's the hate from?. I started playing this game, and it certainly brings back memories. Wheres all this hate coming from, though? "Hard to control"? It's easy to get the hang of!

Hard but fun!. Big learning curve here it definitely takes a while to really feel the controls but just challenging enough to make it gratifying to beat levels. I wouldn't say"immensely" like the description, but a good game! Love the retro as well.
