POMELO Photo Editor review.. This is by far one of the best Photo editing apps I have ever tried. Fast and simple menu is what defines it. The app it's easy and self explanatory about how to use. Moreover, it is very dynamic and has perfect filters for almost every kind of photo. My final comment: Flawless. 👍🏻👏🏻

Pomelo Filters. I love the filters in this app- I deleted all my other filter apps because this has the best ones.

Update to app = no good. The recent update to this app is VERY disappointing... I had used this app for over 5 years and these updates took away all the great prebuilt filter options and even if some of them are still there the names are completely different. The cost seems hefty with it too.

Update will be your downfall. This will be my first app review ever. Sadly, just like others, I LOVED this app. I loved the filters. Used them for nearly all my photos. But I open the app today with a new update and find that the filters are terrible, and pretty much no different to each other. All my old favorites are no longer here - and I even checked through the pro filters, which are just as bad as the ones offered. What the heck, pomelo? Why fix a good thing? I know plenty of people who, like me, have used this app for YEARS and will have to find a new filter app, unless this magically gets reversed.

Major Downgrade. I’ve never thought to leave a review on an app before, but the recent update to Pomelo actually compelled me to. As many others have stated, the previous versions of the app where nearly perfect; this was my go-to for editing all photos. I understand wanting to make a profit and whatever else, but the way this upgrade was rolled out is a major disservice to loyal users. Unfortunately, I’ll probably delete the app soon as I don’t intend to pay for features that were previously free (looking at you, “Saturation” slider).

I’m kinda annoyed. 3 weeks ago I published presets as filters, I filled out the form and everything. Guess what never got reviewed and published? My filters. It’s really annoying. So please fix it or send out like an average amount of time it takes to review so I know the general time it will go up in? Idk I just wanna be a creator.

Offers different filters than other apps. This app offers different filters than other apps.

Photo doesn’t save the same. I really like this app! I use it to edit all my photos with a preset filter I have the only issue is when you save the photo, it isn’t identical to the one u edited. Most of the Rome it isn’t as bright and I’ll screenshot the photo I edited on the app and compare it to the one that was saved and they aren’t the same!

Give back the old update!!. Ive had this app for years!! It was my go to for taking amazing pictures! So many filters to choose from and such great quality no matter what phone I had but this new update is not it. I’m not a fan of the new update where I can’t use the filters and take pics simultaneously. This is just like any regular editing app now and it’s boring. Please return the old features. I regret updating now. :(

My Go-To Photo App. I've been using this app for years and to this day, it's the first app I open to edit my favorite shots. I've got some gimmicky apps that do fun stuff but for serious pics, this is the best. A lot of "easy functionality" that creates great results without the loss in quality that other apps cause. I can always print these photos after editing and have no worries: they come out crisp.

No stars for you. The first star an app gets is for just turning on. You get no stars because you crash when I try to open the app. 2 stars to open up and be be useful to perform some things but not well or bad UI. 3 stars would be if you have problems but look promising. 4 stars if you deliver what you say you will. 5 stars if you go above and beyond and are excellent app.

Did Love. Used to love this app, but I see that it hasn’t been updated in a year. Some filters are now causing issues with my iCloud library... When I use the Porta filter under film the photo won’t upload, I can’t share it, and I can’t go back and re-edit. Other filters appear to work fine. No longer using app and will not do anymore testing for fear of losing more photos.

Great Filters. I have been using this app for years. I love how it improves my pics. I have noticed that there aren’t as many free filter choices but I’m hoping they will bring them back. I would recommend this app for all picture lovers.

Horrible Update. I’ve always given Pomelo the credit that it was due, praising it and sharing the info so others could download it. But now they’ve completely wiped out all of their wonderful content that was offered for free, and now charge for it. Extremely disappointed, and now definitely would uninstall.

My GO-TO. I have had this particle editing app for going on 3 years now. I LOVE IT.! Many many different opinions to choose from. Professional.! Definitely worth a try.

Not able to save photos. I just renewed my subscription, but I’m having problems saving edited photos. I’ve tried deleting and re-downloading the app, but still the same. Help a girl out pls because this is the only editor I like to use.

Pretty Cool App. I wanted something that was similar to the Instagram filters for my regular photos. It's perfect! IMO, There filters are actually better. 😁

Prep version was way better. I used this app as an action extension to add film filters to photos. It was great. The new version doesn’t have action extensions and the format has changed for the worse. The filters are all named very rudimentarily. It’s all a navigational mess. Too bad, I really liked the previous version.

The new version is terrible. Do you have a feature I can use my old version? If not, can you develop? The new version is terrible and not allow camera have direct filer, what is even worse - those added back filter is charging 50$ for full time. This is totally rip-off and I don’t know what and why you guys are doing so.

Bad upgrade. I used to have this app and it was the best. Now the latest upgrade is terrible not friendly user and just not the type of a quick edit photo app. I don’t know if with the previous version there was no earns, just consider going back, I’ll (and probably more people) definitely pay. This app is better than the Instagram. This app is seriously better than all the Instagram filters and VSCO cam filters combined. This app is BEAUTIFUL. it is magnificent. It is wonderful. Thank you for creating it. I seriously love it. It is the best.

Used to love. Never thought I would be writing a review for a camera app but I paid $50 for a lifetime of POMELO but then had to continue paying again just to use it? Totally a rip off I shouldn’t have to keep repurchasing for an app I already paid for. And then with the new update you had to connect to Facebook to use certain filters even after you paid for?? Insane, used to be my go to app but now I have to find something else.

Help!. I love this app, but I’m having a problem. Every time I go to put a filter on a video, the video turns to a blank white screen. I’ve tried re downloading and updating. Any suggestions?

Camera not working on iPhone X. I have used this app for years and I just updated to the iPhone X and the camera screen doesn’t show up on the full screen and the filters do not work. Pretty disappointed because this is one of the few apps that doesn’t flip the picture when taking a selfie. Please fix!!

The new version was 🤦🏾‍♂️. I’ve used this app for long time and love to use their interface. It was user friendly and simple ... unfortunately from this version they changed all the interface and functionality ... that’s make the app not special anymore ...

The older version was better. I used to absolutely love this app to death! I put all my friends on it. You were able to select a filter before taking the picture just so you get a feel for how the pictures would look. I had some amazing pictures with the “Iceland” filter. Now you open up the app and you’re forced to either load a picture or capture one off their own camera without the already installed filters. Anyways 6 years boiled down to this... no thank you. If you switch back to your old filters, I’ll rethink about using it :)

Outstanding. Everywhere I would go, on Instagram, sc, Facebook, my friends camera rolls, they all had amazing pictures. I wanted to create some of my own but doing that is so hard. I searched high and low, left and right, literally everywhere for the perfect app and I could never find it. That was until I found Pomelo. The first picture I took I was very pleased with. This is an excellent app. Tysm

Works amazingly well. I've been able to produce some amazing photos starting with my originals and using POMELO. I love it.

Bug?. First of all I would like to say how much I’ve enjoyed using this app. However just recently (yesterday) I can’t seem to edit my photos anymore. Every time I click on my phone it says “image does not exist. Please fix this, I want to use this app again! Thank you!!!

Please at least add the old filters. This app used to be really great. I loved the filters that were available and used the app to edit a majority of my photos. However the update is awful. The market was already oversaturated with paid apps and for the original filters to be taken away as well basically made this app useless to me. I’m hugely disappointed.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I agree with the assessment of the other user. This updated version is absolutely terrible. It’s like you completely ruined the entire app. I have even paid for filters on the older version and now they are gone and I can’t restore them. Total rip off! New filters are mundane at best-tepid- and have rendered this app utterly unimpressive. If you knew what was best for your users you would restore what you previously had immediately!!

the update is awful. Please switch it back! The new update has completely ruined the app. Maybe I’ll re-download it when it gets changed back. The old filters were beautiful and these new ones are useless; you might as well use the instagram filters.

Disappointed. I’ve had this app for years and I’ve loved it I could touch up my pictures just the way I wanted without it being over board. I opened my app today and the update is awful I have to go and delete the app now because if I don’t pay I can’t use it the way I used to anymore. The new update is very confusing and not likable. I’m very disappointed that the one photo app I’ve used for years I have to get rid of unless I pay an extreme amount of money.

Beyond Disappointed. I’ve been using this app for years...it used to be my favorite...till this recent update. The userface is terrible, the options are garbage now and in order to even have some decent options, they want an arm and a leg from you. I would’ve paid to continue using the app how it was previously but this...I won’t ever use it again. #sadface

Bring back the old version. As many others have stated, the updated version is terribly disappointing. I would pay for the old filter I used all the time (I think it was called Lomo but I have no way to verify!). Nothing similar to it in the new version, even if I paid.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!. Pomelo used to be my go to editing app, mainly because its nice interface and gorgeous filters. It was easy to use and gave me nice, colorful pictures. The new design is annoying and the filters are sort of washed out. Half of it is for premium users, which imo renders the app even more useless.

Update is whack. I have had this app for years and always make sure it’s on my phone. It was the perfect touch. This update removing basically every noteworthy feature is a huge bust. Considering it was done without warning, and the new layout being basically unusable compared to what it was (and the new filters are total garbage???) I have no desire to see what’s behind the paywall. I have a feeling that paying for the app isn’t going to bring back what I loved about it. Exceptionally terrible choice on your part guys. I have no choice but to delete and find an alternative.

New Update is Horrible. What happened to the old Pomelo version? I opened my app today and everything was completely different and not in a good way. All of the filters now look like garbage, like cheap filters you find on Facebook or something. The old version had a few filters that looked amazing and I used them constantly on my edits. Now this update I cannot find my favorite filter or anything that looks even close to it. This is trash. I will no longer be using this app as my favorite app for filters, I’ll have to look elsewhere.

Great to GARBAGE. This USED to be my go to app for editing my pictures. I loved how it WAS built in to edit the photo right from my camera roll. NO I DONT WANT TO TAKE MY PHOTOS FROM WITHIN YOUR APP! They updated it and now it’s horrible. No longer allows you to edit within iOS camera. It lost its ease of use and is difficult to navigate. Deleted like the rest of them. Don’t fix it if it’s not broken. You’re not reinventing the wheel.

Deleted app. I’ve had this app for a very long time and i updated it and don’t like the new version. This was always my go-to app because it had the filters on the camera (instead of taking the photo and then putting a filter on it) and had a great variety of filters to chose from. But now, I can’t even use a filter on the camera, and I have to pay 50$ to have it for a full time. That is ridiculous! More advanced camera apps that have more features cost 5$ mostly. The app without the ‘pro’ is just a regular camera so nobody will even use the app because most are definitely not going to pay the full amount and probably not even monthly. Probably too late , but the creator should change it back, the ‘new version’ was a bad decision.

Produces Stunning Photos!. It's a beautiful app; convenient and easy to use and comes with magnificent filters. There seems to be a really small display bug: I have quite a few photo/picture folders so when I tap the 'library' option on the page and it shows the different folders I have, it overlaps on itself = so I'd have my folder of Spiderman Memes displayed but it says 'Much Makeup/Hair' over the Spiderman Memes caption. Maybe it's just me? Other than that, once again, it is a really good app.

Favourite photo edit app!. So many different filters as well as options like temperature to customise your own perfect filter. Would be nice to be able to use a filter as well as a leak on the same photo though. But great app!

Terrible service. I downloaded the app and signed up for a free 3 day trial. The app was easy to use with some great filters but not the best out when it comes to editing photos - I need a little more. Once you signed up for a free trial and you don’t like it. They give you no options to delete your account and they completely ignore emails about account deletion. Which means now I will be scammed a membership fee each year/month for an app I do not use because you’re not allowed to ever delete your account.

Filtres défectueux. Impossible de diminuer l'intensité des filtres. Lorsqu'on enregistre une photo modifiée, l'intensité du filtre reprend son maximum même si on l'avait préalablement diminué. Décevant car c'était mon application favorite pour modifier mes photos..

I can’t edit videos anymore. I really love this app, I love the filters and also you can create your own I’ve created a few; but there is a detail I can not edit videos, I can apply them any filter I don't know why and before it used to do it, every time I click “Export” doesn't show anything saying “downloading video” or something, I deleted the app and re-downloaded again but the issue still there. Please and thank you.

For great selfie-ing, look no further.. I think they could use a 16x9 selection; that way you can stylistically more crazy with this app. But overall, perfect filters. Great controls. I highly recommend.

Great app!. A lot of free filters with different effects that you can choose! My photos looked so much greater after applying the filters.

What’s with the new update?. I can get past the new look and layout of the new update, but I think it’s so cheap to try to charge us for filters that were available for free before. This app was my go-to when editing, my favorite filters are now part of the pro package. This makes no sense, I would’ve considered paying for more filters, more editing tools, more effects etc but to charge for the same thing we had for free before makes it clear to me this company just cares about pennies.

Love Pomelo!. I love Pomelo, especially the Film filters. Along with the insta filters, you can do so much.

WHAT HAPPENED. I had my pomelo system down, and this update destroyed my system. All the easy filters I used are GONE! The update is too hard to navigate, has a lot LESS filters and is all around TERRIBLE.

Won't Work Right.. Won't let Me Download Pictures From My Camera. Says Does Not Exist. Why? Fixing to Uninstall.

Do not update!. From my favorite quick filter app to something I don’t need on my phone. They want 50$ for the filters I used for years. And the previous version was much more convenient to use.

Worked great for a day. Love all the filters. Went for it and bought pro. Was able to have full use for one day. Photo will not save to my phone after editing.

Great but bad. This new version has no front camera anymore and that's the only reason I used the app. I used it for filters as well, but front camera was the highlight of the app.

Don’t update!. This used to be my favorite photo editing app but now the UI is so confusing and they are switching to a subscription format so I’ll be deleting this app! I wish they would have transferred to the subscription but allowed us use the basic editing things

No preview on videos. If you’re trying to add a filter for a video, note the video will look blank so you can’t see how the filter will actually look on the video.

Horrible!. This new version is terrible compare to the old one, I had this app because was different to the others and the filters were awesome but this version awful! I’ll gonna delete it right now! 👎🏼🤢🤮

Great except you have to hold down a button. There is no hands free. WHY?? You have to HOLD the camera. You can’t use a tripod to film yourself from a distance. So why buy the app when I can just use IG filters? #annoying

Horrible update. I hate the update basically now you’re paying for all the features that was previously free on the last version. Please restore this back !!!

latest update. a very disappointing update. 1) previously, you could open the application with the camera already set to a filter. now you have to take a picture and then apply a filter. 2) edited pictures are now saved to small files even though the file of the original is large. 3) the name of the application is no longer given in the metadata. 4) filters of the previous version are no longer available.

Great app. Tried many apps but this is the real deal

Subscription based. The app went from free with one time fees to a subscription service. Now that Apple phones come with decent photo editing, this app is just a waste of money. The app has all the basics and a good amount of filters. It was worth the one time fees but it is not worth subscription fees.

Deleted.. HATE the new app. I literally had the original version for years and loved it. Now they literally ruined the interface and the app as a whole adding purchases and all that crap. The app looks like a cheap chinese version of Retrica. I’m highly disappointed.

Update is trash.. Had this app for years now, and loved it, it was always my go to app for pictures, and selfies. Now it’s just charging for ridiculous stuff. On op of that it’s confusing and I can’t understand how to work it. I miss the old version and feel like this app is a lost cause now. Good bye you hot mess.

NEW UPDATE IS BAD. This was my favorite editing app ever... until it got a new update. Now you have to pay for all of the good filters that you once got for free. It’s not even easy to control like the old version was. It’s just really bad now.

New update. I used to LOVE this app. And then I made the poor choice of updating. It is totally different and I don’t have my favorite filter anymore. Really upset. I wish I could revert. This has turned into another basic photo app.

Stole my money. I had purchased pomelo pro they took my money and then asked me every time I opened the app to buy it again or start a free trial even though I had already purchased it.

App Not Working. The App won’t let me save my photos. When I press the save button and most other buttons for that matter, the app becomes unresponsive and doesn’t do anything.

Update messed it up. Same as many others who have said it, but I too loved this app before the update. I don’t like any of the new filters and none of them even resemble any of the previous ones so I no longer use it.

You have to pay up to enjoy.... This used to be a fun app to play around. Now many features are locked behind a subscription or payment. Time to delete...

Sad :/. I've been using it for a long time and I loved it! but now it's no good! it's just a camera like any other .. if you want something else I'll have to pay. this is ridiculous. unfortunately I am uninstalling this App and I apologize to my friends that I indicated this ap with such enthusiasm.

Super sad. I went to use this app today and was super disappointed when I opened it and saw they had changed everything... for the absolute worst. I’ll be deleting it now. This was my ALL time favorite photo editing app, now it’s the worst.

really nice filters!. i used this app for my instagram pictures because i liked one of the filters so much (: and how you can customize the settings for each one. really good app! i just feel like it kind of ruins the quality of the original picture ):
