files lost. great except for when it won’t play my old files—a lot of them have been lost. the file is still there, but when I try to hit play, nothing was saved.

Simple to use. Well designed. Perfect for the unorganized songwriter.. This app is well designed, simple to use, and functions just as advertised. It’s great to be able to see all of the songs you’re working on and then order them based on different criteria. Looking forward to other updates and functions in the app!

Transcends Functionality. Simply the best place to store your song lyrics. The user interface is surgically efficient and sorting your lyrics using the built in methods for classification is quite satisfying. That being said, I still use Apple's voice memos app for recording the melodic ideas that pop into my head. But for writing lyrics this is a must-have.

This is the real deal. Great App!. This app is simple and intuitive. I've been using two different apps to get audio and then text. This is exactly what I needed. There is room for this app to grow and add some features that I think would be helpful. I gave this five stars because this app is very useful as is. The app currently only lets you record one audio file and attach it to the lyrics. I would like to be able to record either more than one audio file, as songs grow or just be able to append a new recording to the end of the old recording. One other option I think the makers of this app should consider is having a one button chord player. Basically, have all of the basic chords show up on the screen as a small button per chord. Pressing the button on whatever chord you want would create a piano or guitar sound of the chord. This would be really helpful if I'm writing on the road without my guitar or piano. Being able to select or create more intricate chording would be a plus. For two bucks, this is a no-brainer if you write songs.

Wow. Just wow. I've been using Hum from the jump, and can honestly say that this update is a game changer. With the horizontal support, and the streamlined interface everything on this app is wonderful. I wrote an entire project using this app, and I cannot imagine writing music without it now. The creators are super receptive to feedback, and answer back any comments, concerns, and feedback. The only reason I didn't give it that 5th star is because I still think that this app would benefit greatly from iCloud syncing, and a Today view widget for throwing quick ideas would really take it to the next level. Other than that by far this is the best song writing app on the App Store!

Excellent iPhone App; But Request for MacBook Support. I’ve been using this app here and there as for when I’ve suddenly got an idea or tune on my mind out of the blue, which will dissipate very quickly if no action is taken. This app allows me to hum the tune and write the lyrics ASAP along side each other so you can see both at the same time. Sweet! I’ve never seen that feature before. One HUGE complaint/request I have is if there can be a version of this you can get for MacBook or other Apple laptops/notebooks, where Hum “ideas” could be imported through iTunes? Please? That way I could transport all my small stuff to a laptop where I can really sort it all out and such and use there. Thanks a bunch! This is a great app.

Grateful for Hum. I have been a hard core, verbally supportive user of Songwriter HD for gong on 4 years. I talked countless songwriters into buying it, and now, unfortunately, the developers sold it to someone who is not updating and has no intention of updating. Getting notifications from Apple and Dropbox Songwriter HD will soon be useless. I get no response from anyone when I look for answers. Thankfully there is an heir to the throne with Hum. Does everything it should do and everything it claims to do. This is the new songwriter's dream and my new go-to tool. The price absolutely can't be beat for all it does. I am very picky about the app I use for writing my songs, and believe me, if I have suggestions for improvement, I hound the company. For now, though, Hum is on the right track. I hope they plan on sticking around. It says this is iPhone only, but it works on my iPad Pro, it just looks weird. All my support is here. If you are a songwriter in need of an app for writing, Hum is the way to go.

A little bummed. I paid for this app right away based on a youtuber’s review. It’s easy to use which is great Buuut when I did a test Email I saw that only Lyrics were sent, the Song Writer app sends lyrics and audio (free app). Also, I wish this had lines so I can write out tabs,(if other apps can do tab so can you:) other ideas requests: Can take photos of the ideas I had already written in a journal (then I would get to fixing things later) ummm and Apple Pencil/OCR capability 😄 ... I can change rating when the emailing audio issue is fixed

Wrote an album with this app. Seriously. Just finished with the recording sessions and it's in post production, so I was looking toward the next project and seeing if there had been any updates to this app, because I wanted to use it again. Very glad to see that development is continuing, however slow the pace may be. It has its downsides, but they are outweighed by the usefulness of the songwriter-oriented features. Buy the tuner IAP. I know you have a billion tuners around already, just throw them a buck and help to support this great app.

An interactive notebook. This app is like a scratch book for your songs. You can write the lyrics, hum a melody, and sort by all sorts of tagging options. It's definitely a good run for a first version, but it's pretty involved. You have to tag the mood, tempo, and key of the song. I would love to see an update that would let me anchor chords IN with lyrics, since right now that's up up you to do. It would be especially useful if one could shift the key and automatically shift the chords. All in all, this app is mostly to keep you organized...don't expect it to so any of the work for you. That being said, it's nice to not have a million half written songs in my notes app.

Easy and intuitive. I like to start with lyrics on paper, once things start to come together, this app makes the details so easy to capture. I love this app!

Still needs sharing. I enjoyed the app because of my songwriting ability. I love creating songs, however, it needs to add social media for sharing peers who is interested in any song. Maybe if there's an upcoming upgrade, sharing via social media will be better

This App is straight up Dope.. This App is straight up Dope. As an avid songwriter I have tried multiple song writing apps. All fall short. This app is very very simple and clean. The guys behind this are killing it on the updates as well. Bringing bigger and better features, such as the ones mentioned. I would pay much more for an App like this.

Hum is gonna be #1. Definitely my favorite and most used app. Has so much potential to change the on the go songwriting. really friendly and easy to talk to team over at hum and they seem to be addressing all the areas that are lacking. I've recorded 500+ demos this year with it. Would love to be able to mass save on Dropbox, be able to not lose a beat when opening different songs because the interface thinks im trying to record, record multiples on one idea, import a beat to record to as well when recording it turns off your iTunes. Can't wait for the future with hum on my songwriting took belt!

Songs vanish. Spent 7 hours working on a song today. Had the lyrics, key, color, mood, speed and audio in Hum. When I went for a drive I tried to listen to the song and it completely vanished from the app. It is nowhere to be found. It’s not on Dropbox either. Please make sure you use another medium for storing for material, since this app is not trustworthy...

Super sicc. This app is fantastic, I’ve used it for years now and I recommend it to all of my friends that write music. Thank you to the creators!

In LOVE. I have had him for about a year. Every week it gets better with consideration from the users! I’ve been able to lock down and reall organize my pieces. New idea: multiple recordings within lyrics to separate segments I.e intros, verses, choruses, outros, miscellaneous ideas? One long recording is powerful but Segmented multiple recordings a piece would be PHENOMENAL!

LOVE it.. For some reason this review seems to not be appearing on y'all's page and that just ain't right--you guys deserve some recognition for this product. I literally use it DAILY. constantly coming up with silly melodies or song ideas and this helps me keep it all collected. One of the few apps i consistently recommend to my friends. Does exactly what it's supposed to without error. Very fast. Conveniently raises the volume on quiet recordings (or maybe im just crazy...). Incredibly easy to use and share recordings with friends. I just love it, man! My only wants & desires: the labels are nice but SO small--it would be nice to have thicker/name-attributable labels in the future. while that's just a minor inconvenience, a full-fledged folder system would be great for organizing what will soon be 200 hums in my library. AND FINALLY...the holy grail...being able to save multiple takes/audio tracks on one Hum!! That would be a lifesaver. I have one song with multiple ideas stretched out over six different Hums right now hahaha. It's certainly not debilitating but it would streamline my use of the app SOOO much better. Keep up the great work guys. As again, i've been raving about this thing out here in Chicago. It's just too good (and cheap!)

So bummed. I too have been faithfully using this app for many years, but now my files are suddenly disappearing without a trace. It’s beyond frustrating, but I have hope. Devs please help ASAP, so we don’t have to move on. Save HUM! ✌️❤️

LOVE IT!!. I’ve tried a lot of apps. This one is by far the best. So easy to use and I don’t have to think... open, hit record, and write. Thanks Hum!!!!

Needs updating badly!. Hum makes better recordings than Voice Memos, but lately has been very spotty when attempting to share files. The sharing is a big part of making the recordings in the first place, so I’m really wishing the developers of the app would update it so we can get back to making sweet music together. This review turns into 5 stars once it’s updated!

The best!. I really really love this app, I’ve been using it for about a year now, and it’s absolutely fantastic. I would love for it to have to ability for multiple voice recording in one file. I find it a bit annoying when I have to record the voice again when I change my mind about the guitar.

Awesome!. The app is great! Definitely the easiest to use and most intuitive of the songwriting apps for iPhone. Love the new Dropbox sync, which works great. The developer is super responsive to questions and feature requests. Can't wait for future versions! The only reason it gets 4 stars is because I really want an iPad version and support for in-line chords. It would remove steps for taking my material into the studio to work on. I'd give it 6 stars then!

Good start but needs backup options. This is an app idea that I’ve been waiting for someone to build… Very nice tool that is much better than the built-in voice recorder. However, like other reviewers have said it needs to have some kind of iCloud or Dropbox backup/sync because I don’t want to lose any ideas...

Doesn’t work. Won’t share with voice memos or messenger. Wondering if this app is even supported anymore. A few years since last release. How do I get my money back.

NO support response. I have emailed support to no avail. The sole desire in using HUM , lies in the functionality of importing a music file and recording over it.

What a great app. I don’t write many reviews, but I love this app, and I hope it is a success. Like probably every songwriter over a certain age, I used to record all of my ideas using a portable cassette recorder. This app makes it incredibly fun and efficient to get your ideas down, including whatever tunings, keys, lyrics, and other details you want to remember. It’s not incredibly complex, and that’s what makes it great. It’s sleek and fast. I love it.

Great concept, poor execution. Love this idea. In theory it's much better than my current system (built in voice memos app). Interface is beautiful and if it were a little more stable, this would definitely be 5 stars for me. As is it crashes very regularly, particularly when recording. As you can imagine this is not ideal. I would greatly appreciate a fix (iPhone 5s iOS 7.0.6), because there is a lot of potential for a really helpful tool here, it is just too unreliable at the moment.

Good Start. Clean, clear and responsive but certainly missing some key features. For one thing, I'm hesitant to invest any time in this app without a way to backup or export my content. I would love to see a backup option to Dropbox or even iCloud and in addition an option to simply create a backup file that can be downloaded via iTunes or a web browser, similar to how awesome notes handles this process. I would also love to be able to create more recordings per song. Currently I just use the iPhones voice memo app to capture ideas for songs- melodies, harmonies, guitar parts, lyrics and often many alternates. My voice memo app is a giant list of musical ideas with only the names as organization. I would love to keep all my recordings within their respective "song" hence the option for an iTunes backup file. Some import features would also be a great addition but I could start fresh in Hum if I had to. Just please. Add a backup feature and some more powerful recording options with organization. Holding on to this one for awhile anticipating updates.

Hum is my total jam! Love it.. I would be lost without HUM. Fast, easy, intuitive, I love this app. Wherever and whenever I get a musical idea, I sing it or play it into Hum, synched automatically to my Dropbox, and I never will lose it. Keys and chord notations, lyrics and riffs, all get saved. Get it!

A Great Start. I am also a long time user of the Songwriter app as well as SongHub. The Hum app is very simple and easy to use but lacks some key features that would make it a great songwriting app. What I Like 1. It's simple and easy to use. 2. Clean modern design. 3. My favorite feature is the notes section. This is a feature that I have never seen in any other songwriting app. It gives you a place to try new lyrics and lines without messing up the basic lyrics you already have. If you could see some of my works in progress, you would understand why I love this. Needed Features 1. Folders so you can have your Ideas, In Progress and Completed songs separated instead of all bunched together. 2. The ability to create song sections within a song that can be rearranged. 3. The ability to hide the recorder at the bottom to give you more screen real estate. 4. An iPad version with syncing to use when performing. This is my first take and I will probably update this review once I get more time with it. Enjoy!

Simple, Smart, and Songwriter-Focused. 25 years playing music and writing songs, and - as game-changing the iPhone and a few solid but limited recording apps were for the process - this app feels like the natural evolution of that first step. Easy and accessible, yet intuitively deep for keeping musical ideas from becoming the usual disjointed mess. No more "Where did I put those lyrics?" or listening to a separate track as you flip between paper or a word processing app. Hum gets it right, and it's pretty clear they've been through the messy side of the process before, and simplified it in the best way possible - by condensing it to its most fundamental needs. Extremely well done to start, and I can't wait to see future upgrades...but it's so darn good, I will, and happily. Only suggestion, and it's not a gripe or criticism: if you can enhance the audio fidelity via adding flexibility to each song's bitrate or file type, you'll cover every base need and then some. Kudos are we deserved here, so thanks to the dev team for this one!!

A great organized resource for a process that is often disorganized.. For me, songwriting has always been a disorganized process. Different ideas come in different ways; including lyrics that will sit for a year, guitar parts that don’t have any accompanying thoughts, and sometimes full songs that come all at once. This process wasn’t helped by needing to use multiple services to capture ideas in many different places. Hum has really helped me localize all of my ideas and processes in one area to be able to see the canvas in whole and work on ideas for as long as inspiration is available. Additionally, seeing ideas along side one another in a list, I can look for thematic elements and work to either eliminate duplication in songs or look for areas to combine ideas. Within minutes of using Hum, I knew it where it would add simplicity to my process. That simplicity helps me utilize tools in the most efficient process so I can get out of my own way when I’m feeling inspired.

Best App for Songwriting on IOS. I love, love, LOVE this app. It has everything I want except I just have one suggestion - it would be great if I could create multiple audio files for each file! Because sometimes I have to add onto the audio file later, and if I could either edit the existing one or create new ones I would be happy with that. Thank y’all again!!

Very Useful. I use this all the time. The best thing is you have everything in one place for a song you’re writing. Highly recommend this app!

Waste of money. I’m a professional songwriter. Was hoping this was great, but it lacks and does NOT imports audio files.

Ehh..... There's so many more useful songwriting apps out there on the market - just do your homework. I bought this because of the high ratings and I hope this review helps bring the rating into reality. How about some actual musical features- like an integrated tuner? The default Apple iOS "voice memo" is just fine for quick ideas... So what it doesn't tell you the key of the song or what alternate tuning you might be in- you can just say that info at the beginning of the of the track when you when you record. This one gets a big whatever.

+1 for multiple recordings. I realllly really love the app and everything it does and even just the appealing interface. But it really needs to be able to group multiple recordings for one song, it's an app for ideas, and the first idea you record certainly isn't going to be the whole picture. Even recording variations of the same part to compare them would be another function of being able to record multiple clips under one project. That's the only thing keeping it from five stars, so PLEASE listen to this feedback we're all giving

Excellent!!. I've been looking for an app like this for a while! So stoked to find it. Perfect for recording songs and lyrics and keeping everything organized. I have a lot of spontaneous jams and lyrics and I find it difficult to keep them all in separate apps, unorganized. This eliminates that problem. Fantastic!

Great tool for songwriters. I really enjoy working in this app and the user interface is truly well done. It looks great now on iPhone 6. There are a couple key features that I'm still waiting for such as the Dropbox syncing and multiple audio tracks for each song idea so as to able to record new parts and revisions without losing work or having to create a new Hum file. If it had those features, this app would be just about perfect, and when those features come, I'll enthusiastically go out of my way to give it 5 stars and review it whenever it updates just to help promote it. Even as it stands, it's well worth the money and it beats using voice memos by a mile.

Simple and effective. This is like voice memos, but it adds some basics that are essential for keeping song ideas organized.

Dropbox sync broken. The app has been crashing within 30 seconds of being opened. This is consistently happening until I turn Dropbox sync off. The app works without it, but I’m concerned about not having my work backed up, and also not sure how I’m going to move hundreds of song ideas from this phone the new one I want to buy, without the Dropbox functionality. Currently looking for a new songwriting app solution until the dev is able to address the sync issue. I emailed them a couple of times over the last week but received no reply, so I’m not hopeful at the moment.

Game-changer. Hum has been an amazing tool and it’s totally changed my songwriting. I’ve used it for many years and absolutely love it. Only problem is that it keeps crashing recently...not sure what’s going on but it usually crashes upon opening the first time. Sometimes it starts working fine the second time, but not always :/

What every true songwriter should have. Seriously, I've pretty much got all my stuff spread all over different apps like Voice Memos, Evernote, 4Track, etc. (and they're all great app). But NOTHING like an app which suits songwriting on the go. Don't think it twice. BUY IT! Other reviewers are crap writing about too specific features that really would just make the app not simple or minimalistic as it is now. Although, I definitely support the idea of recording several sections of a song. At least I never get the good/final idea at the first time. So something similar to what Instagram does with recording videos would be great (just turn that into audio recording). Nevertheless, GREAT APP!

Hum is a total game changer. Guys if you are a songwriter you need this app, seriously. I can’t imagine where I’d be with my songs if I had this app years ago. ALL OF YOUR SONG IDEAS EASILY ORGANIZED IN ONE PLACE. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. No hassle, very intuitive. I make a folder for each song I’m working on and then record my song ideas into that specific folder, and it makes it extremely easy to name your recording and write notes or lyrics with it. No more searching for your ideas in a giant list mostly unnamed recordings. You literally never have to loose or misplace a song idea again with this app. Come on, 3 bucks just get it! So worth it, it will make your life so much easier

I haven’t ever rated an app, but.... I have never rated an app just due to laziness i guess.. lol BUT i was moved to rate Hum. I have tried ALL songwriting apps and I just keep coming back to Hum! I will say i have only had one issue since 2015 when i got it first. That was just recently when it started shutting down after a few minutes. I emailed support and the short time it took for them to respond and fix my issue, i had to use another app for my ideas. I swear it felt like a fish out of water. Hum is my comfort zone! It was very odd feeling of something not right. It really cramped my creativity! I just love everything about it and how easy it is to just get what you need out of it. I will say i have a deep southern drawl and most speech recognition deals cant understand but Hum is the best at quickly figuring it out. Just thought i needed to let them know. Thanks for a great app! Curt

Just what I've been wanting. This is exactly the app I've been waiting for and wanting. I have no interest in making multi-track recordings on my iDevice; I just want a quick way to get ideas down. And this app fulfills that function perfectly. Great, simple app. PS - another reviewer complained that the app doesn't allow you to give each recording a name, but that's not true. The song is named after the first line of the lyrics.

Songwriters Must Have. This app has changed my whole writing process for the better! Instead of a zillion voice notes to come back to on my iPhone I have Hum. The organization is flawless and transfers easy for copyright & to send to producers, teams, etc.

Only missing a few things. I love how pretty and simple this app is but feel a few things are missing. There is another app just called songwriter and it is extremely ugly (can barely use it because of this) but has these key features I would love to see. 1)Chord input (that changes keys if you want it to so you don't have to manually adjust each typed out chord) 2)synonym/rhyme feature when highlighting a word 3)and this isn't completely necessary but something cool is the ability to create separate song sections and arranging them. Also being able to record separate parts for the same song for ideas instead of just one audio track per song. Thanks guys! I love the other app as you can see but it has not been updated in over a year and with your design you already have it would clearly make this app the best in the songwriting department.

Hum is "humazing"(haha). Seriously though, this app does all what it says it does. There are no lags and ads and bugs. The design itself is simple, yet effective. You can sort your "hums" by keys and give your "hums" notes and such. The only thing I would recommend is if in a future update, you could make folders and put certain "hums" in certain folders. Otherwise, it's a great app!

Just one thing.... This app is perfect in every way (UI, graphics etc) however if you could incorporate a more user friendly way to add chords to lyrics (as opposed to having to manually add a line and space across it) and if you could have an account based cloud system that would also be incredibly helpful, otherwise a wonderful app!

Useful for Songwriting but Has Issues. Good app but Bluetooth support is lacklustre. Will work for one song and then disconnect.

Decent app. Very helpful app. It could use some more features such as a system of writing down chords more easily, and perhaps more than one recording spot per song. Overall a very cool app that has a ton of potential.

Not enough. I can’t believe I bought this app without getting more information first. You cannot even edit the song you either save it or delete it which is not even as good as the default app on the iPhone. As for the musical features, for somebody who’s only just starting with music theory it is useless and too complicated for me. I thought they would be at least the musical tones of the note to help you compose but there’s no sound at all.If it if it becomes possible to edit the audio file I will up my rating.

AMAZING. Oh GOD THIS IS AMAZING GET IT EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THIS WOW IM SPEECHLESS

Not the same. I was a huge fan of this app for years. It was my primary way to write songs. But recently I find files will revert as I'm editing them. It's frustrating to write an entire paragraph only to have it vanish at random.

Amazing. Guys, Guys this is a great app, please I am number 1 reviewing this app, you guys are making my songwriting so much easier with this app... The App works Perfect and is the best for what it does... Now the only thing i would like to see in the next update is the possibility to make multiple voice recording "Hums" under one song, this way i can write lets say the Verse and Hum, record the verse idea and move onto the chorus etc... And been able to record each time like this if you got a melody you can record it and then comeback to it and write it or vise versa! Thank you guys... love your App, which just replaced my Voice Memos App! Keep Up the Great Work!

(Almost) Perfect. Great app! If it had an option for multiple recordings per song idea then it'd be perfect

Minimalistic, it works for me. I've actually tried quite a few apps and none are as simple as Hum. I use this 1) to quickly get an idea down in case I wake up in the middle of the night with a guitar riff, and 2) as a place to work on lyrics for tracks. Even though this doesn't necessarily work any differently from voice memos or notes, I like having this as a dedicated go-to music app. I find that ideas in voice memos usually don't go anywhere there whereas in Hum, I can give it a name and come back to it later and jot down some lyrics if they come to me. All in all, it's simple and it works. No complaints. Would give six stars if it included a thyming dictionary while I typed like the "Rhymers Block" app. Thanks guys.

Almost Perfect. Would be perfect for me with 3 things 1. Being able to have multiple recordings in one "hum". I'd like the ability to record a chorus/bridge/verse as separate recordings in the same place 2. Ability to add custom tunings as opposed to a pre-defined list 3. iCloud integration! Some of us don't use Dropbox.

Greatest songwriting app on iTunes. Simply amazing...I've been searching forever for something this simple and eye appealing. 5/5 stars easily....worth the price I promise.

Great App. I love this app! I use it all the time. Thanks for all the updates!

Inspirational App. It's an easy way to write and organize song ideas. Great stuff! I use Hum more than anything on my phone.

Good stuff. Simple. Well designed. Brilliantly executed.

Almost there. Great app. It looks and works great, and is a much better system than using voice memos for songwriting. BUT I'm still waiting for multiple recordings within one project. I think that would really set this app apart.

Almost there!. Need to have a "Title" option for songs

Simply awesome. I love this songwriting app. It doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is--which is what makes it so intuitive, easy and helpful. I highly recommend it.

Best songwriting app ever!. If you're a songwriter who likes to keep stuff organized, here's your app. This will be the best 2 dollars you ever spend for a songwriting app.

Awesome Tool!. This is such a handy tool to have. Let's me get an idea down quickly without having to fumble through 2 or 3 apps, while the idea is lost. I can just open up Hum, hit record and put some lyrics down. So glad someone made this app!

👍. Super simple, super powerful songwriting app that gets better with every new release. Exactly what you need to capture those fragile ideas that would otherwise get forgotten.

Awesome. This is the best, most simple songwriting app out there. Amazing for recording lyrics and saving song ideas. Songwriting is amazingly emotionally relieving and honestly don't think that I would be alive if it weren't for my use of this app

Beautifully done and well thought through. Love the beautiful design. And the little details that make it tactful and fun to use. And the core features are really well thought through.

Works great. I'd love to be able to overdub tracks for songs with multiple parts

Hum is pretty cool!!. This is one of the simplest apps of this nature I've found. I don't need crazy features, just a place to get ideas down! This app does that. The one thing I wish I could do was record multiple recordings per draft song.

Great design. The only real additional feature I wish this had was the ability to store multiple sound files within a song and it sounds like that's coming down the line.

My favorite app.. Best songwriting app on the App Store.

Hum for iPad?. Would love to sync with iCloud to my iPad. That'll maybe also act as a backup as well?

Promising start. The app definitely needs a way to insert cord types easily instead of typing them out. That is one of the most tedious things having to type out chords if they could be dragged and dropped or inserted by placing a finger above a line of lyrics that would be amazing. A help button explaining what each of the features does would be helpful too for new users.

Great idea, needs work. I like the idea and I am excited to use the app but there's one major problem. You cannot continue recording on a song. Once you record something that's it. I usually build songs section by section and I'd like to be able to continue where I left off, potentially with a marker to play from that point on. If that was implemented, this would be useful but for now it's a little more tedious than the stock voice memos app.

Great but need to title. I like the app but there doesn't seem to be any way to title each recording. I will never remember what ia what if i have to look at a list of "Hum1", "Hum2" etc

Fantastic! Please introduce iPad optimized version. I'm now iPad only and the blown up iPhone app does not inspire. An iPad app could really expand your user base as most musicians I know use their iPads for music idea storage. It would also make me a happy fellow. Thanks for the nice app.

Awesome Start! Room for improvement!👍😄. Quick and easy way to write songs! A great start but I have a few suggestions! 1. Add multiple recordings per Hum (intro, verse, chrous, bridge etc.) 2. Ability to name Hums other than the beginning of the lyrics 3. Variable Auto scroll 4. It sometimes doesn't save what I write when I'm editing a song!! Huge bug, please fix ASAP if I lose a piece of a song I will be heartbroken!

What any songwriter needs!. It's ease of use makes it a must have for the songwriting community. I love that I can add notes or audio to the lyrics I've added. Great app!

So great. Backed this project on Kickstarter awhile back. Glad to see this great idea come to fruition and at such a great price!

The best. The best there ever was.

Great app. I love the fact that there is a separate note section compared to the lyrics section, however I would love a thesaurus and rhyming dictionary. Also the ability to tie chords to a lyric.

It is not there yet. But I have all the time in the world if you want it to succeed.

Wow. This app is RIDICULOUS. It's perfect. I've been living life with it for about six months and have had no issues at all. I love the new color coating feature. Keep it up Hum. developer team! This app will be huge soon.

Great idea but constantly crashes. This is such a good idea for an app. I bought it as soon as I saw it. But I can't actually listen to any of my recordings. It worked for a day but now as soon as I try to open a recording to add notes or just listen to it the app crashes. Totally useless. This needs to be fixed.

Rockin!. iPad and multiple tracks soon please. I can't get enough of hum

Essential for song writers. This is essential for every song writer with an iPhone. I absolutely love it.

Better off with Voice Memos. The Hum interface is awkward, several clicks are required just to begin recording. You can't pause and then continue recording on the same track. The user interface is confusing.

Crashes while recording. Love the app, but the crashing while recording is a total deal breaker. I was recording an inspired moment, eyes closed and feeling it, only to come back and see the app crashed, losing the moment. When it's updated and the crashing fixed, I'll gladly change my review, but until then, I can't trust it to record my inspired moments.

Still no backup or sync option. Just a superficial update, and 99 cents more for a silly tuner. Also they still have not addressed this apps inability to attach multiple audio clips to a song idea.

Finally! Now this app is perfect!. Now that Dropbox support is in, this app has everything I could ask for for a songwriting app! Thank you thank you thank you for the update and for the amazing app!

Great app, but.... There is some kind of glitch that won't save your work at random times. I wrote 3 verses of a song and went back later and there was NOTHING there!!! Fortunately, I have been copying my songs to the notes app because this is not the first time this has happened to me. This really needs to be addressed please. Also, iCloud backup would be a great addition.

Great app! Almost perfect!. Seriously one of the most useful productive simple apps, my only nitpick is there needs to be a way to upload a song so you can write to your bands recordings but seriously listening in iTunes/Music and typing on hum works almost just as good.

Needs a folder feature. I would like this app to have the ability to make folders. My stuff is so unorganized and I hate that. Thank you for fixing this.

Charge for a tuner?. I hope you don't continue down this path. I'll be looking for an alternative if you start charging for added features, specially the essential ones like Cloud syncing.

This is why I rate it 3. I don't get the app and what it does...

Awesome App- love it!!. I bought this app the first day it was released and was hoping it would work well. Let me just say that it is phenomenal! I have already been using it like crazy to keep track of my ideas. Dropbox integration is in the pipeline and once that feature is available for backups I will be moving all my old stuff and ideas over to this app. I highly recommend it.

Off to a great start. Could be amazing with more features, but it does the trick for iSongWriting

Falls short. As others have mentioned it needs 2 things desperately. One is better export options to Dropbox or the likes and second the ability to save more than one file into one project. Without it it's just a voice recorder with the option to add a few more tags

Awesome App, but a Few Improvements. This app is pretty great. Awesome features for song writers that other apps have been missing. There are room for improvements though. 1. Color Coded/Named Categories. This would help artists organize songs by projects or albums. 2. A metronome feature where the user could tap on the screen of the phone to find out the BPM of the song they are working on. 3. Adjustable font size. If this app got those improvements it would easily go from a 4 star to a 5 star. Overall I'm loving it so far though.

Great tool. Amazing for keeping all your song sketches in one place. It's like moleskine++

Great for capturing song ideas. Whether it's lyrics, licks, melodies, this is a super useful app for musicians.

Rhyme dictionary. If you added a rhyme dictionary this would be perfect. Maybe even a thesaurus?

MISSING KEY FEATURES. This app DESPERATELY NEEDS the option to send AND backup files to Dropbox or bitcasa AND the ability to access the files via iTunes is a must (via a zip with the audio files and a text file containing lyrics, ideas and key/tempo info). Feature wise, the app is missing the ability to record multiple ideas in one song idea. It kind of renders the app useless for the exploratory nature of songwriting. Brilliant concept, poor execution.

Needs iCloud Feature. I'd give this app 5 stars if it had an iCloud saving feature. If it does already, I have no clue how to use it. PLEASE ADD.
