Excellent and Convenient. I love the presets! This app is very versatile in the work that I do. As a healer, I use Solfeggio tones for healing and this app makes it very convenient to go from one tone to the next immediately, when using a Caduceus Coil. 😊👍🏼👏

Best frequency app I have found. I use 440 all the time and I like combining it with 73 and the different background noises. I use your app to study and to sleep. Feature request: I would like to identify a few to many different frequencies and play them in order backwards and or forwards or loop and set the length of time to hear each sound. This could be great for practicing scales though this wasn't my original intention. 😊

Super audio function generator. This one does it all. The usual waveforms, sweeps, combinations, etc. Easy to set accurately by the numbers or quickly/roughly with sliders. I don't give top ratings lightly; fewer than 100 in my 70+ years.

Frequency Generator. Your basic Frequency Generator with nothing spectacular or special, but I do appreciate how many options come with its basic layout from the gate on the free version. Extremely important to individuals such as myself to set Amplifier Gain Levels correctly in Car Audio installations…….

Useful. Good at randomly checking coworkers ability to hear high frequency in quiet office settings. Adding fart noises would be an improvement.

Seems legit. Using the free version. Most likely I’ll purchase the paid version.

Does the job. Does the job, didn’t crash. I used it to isolate a rattle in my car, the app worked perfectly, rattle happened at around 80 Hz.

Multiple tone adding is fantastic. When doing sine wave addition with amplifiers. This app provides the signal and the ability to see an ideal sine addition. Then I can measure the actual frequency wave addition in an external scope and compare the two. No other frequency generators that I know of allowed me to do this. With DSP I can send in a combination of 5 sine,cos,square,etc. waves then watch what my DSP. algorithms , say run a Fourier (FFT) I wrote or came from the OEM and check how good it is. Amazing tool from my iPad.

Excellent. I use it in the pub to bring millennials and younger to tears when they like to play their foul WAP music on the juke box. I don’t hear it as my hearing is <10K ( I’m old) But it works great for that!!

Works great.. The app is free, but it is well worth the pay version to unlock the other features. Only $2.99 Can you develop a microphone activated tuner? The world needs it, can you provide it?

Attention to detail by an expert developer!. This is an excellent audio frequency generator app with a TON of parameters to play with! The interface is intuitive and well organized. I like everything about this app!

Great but two pieces of feedback for Developers. One - on the sweep setting, it always resets to 440 hertz so you have to manually adjust it every time. And also would be nice if the start/pause button were bigger so you could use it without looking at the screen.

Excellent Frequency And Noise Generator. I have been working in professional audio for 30 years. I tune rooms and speaker placement, set up EQs, tune subwoofer boxes, find panel resonances, etc. This handy app has all the features I could ever need, they are really usable, and they are geared toward the pro audio user. I tried 3 other frequency generator apps and this is superior by far. Free version is fine, but for $1.99 just go full. Thanks!

Very useful app for many tasks. I've used it often for testing speakers, woofs and tweets same time with the split function. Speeds up my testing time. I frequently use it to check my pitch recognition. Plus a lot of other functions that I do not use as much like the noise generators. Great app.

Deep dive. I got the app solely to “see” some waveforms generated by specific pitch, and found myself learning quite a bit more as I dug in. There is a table of pitches with sharps and flats that is IMPOSSIBLE to press accurately and might have been implemented far better, that’s my only gripe.

Very handy app. This is a good looking app aesthetically and delivers solid, intuitive controls. All the functions are easy to use and provide more tools than the average person will use. That means it won’t run out of functionality as you learn to use it for various things. I love the inclusion of various types of noise which I can use to burn in speakers or relax and fall asleep to. The sweeps are great for testing and recording impulse responses and impedance curves. So many more uses that I won’t take up your time and will just say that it would be hard to find a better all-in-one tone and function generator out there. And it’s super affordable for even the tightest budgets. 5/5 stars!

Very good program. This program is a real bargain for the money if you go with the pro the features are amazing you can do all kinds of healing techniques with this program by Bioral beats scans etc. easy to use and works perfectly plus you can program rife frequencies into it and listen with headphones and do all kinds of amazing things I love it!

Limited. I updated the app and all of a sudden available ranges disabled, unless i upgrade to paid version can’t use it the way I always used it. It’s useless to me now. I’ll find another app that doesn’t limit the frequencies. Dev; instead of crippling your software, introduce new features and offer them in a pro version. You are giving a middle finger to everyone who downloaded your app before you decided to cripple it.

Does just about everything I need. I love this app. I've been studying and using frequencies for over 10 years now. I finally found an app that not only let's me go beyond whole number to decimals, but also let's me type in the exact frequency I want to run. No inaccurate sliders to fiddle with here. I use it regularly. I love the new sets feature. One thing I would like to see added is the ability to name the frequencies. I use different frequencies for different purposes. It would be nice to name Schumann Earth freq instead of having to memorize Earth is 7.83hz.

Great Sound Function App. I searched for a functioning generator app and this one looked interesting. I still have the free version, but I’m seriously considering paying the modest price to upgrade to the pro version because of the additional features. I love the various way forms and the other options, the app offers. Next I will use it to test my car stereo!

Excellent!. I was looking for just a frequency generator, and the other apps I tried made it difficult to pinpoint on a single frequency. This one not only allowed me to pick any specific frequency very easily, it had many additional features that I was very pleased with. This is a great app!

Useful. I have a foreign low frequency (around 60-70Hz) messing up with my ears in my home and I wanted something to easily match the exact frequency I hear. Being able to fine tune the frequency in the free version it allowed me to precisely match the noise that is troubling me (but I still can't identify the source, though) This app is perfect, and the plethora of options in the free version made me review it without being asked to.

Where is Adjust Offset ???. I like this app. It works and has a lot of customization however, there doesn’t seem to be a way to adjust the offset. Would love to be able to use controls to set a positive offset value of 100%. Hope this helps !!

Great Functionality. This app works as described. The UI makes navigating all of the options simple & fun. Kudos to the developer. The developer was also very prompt to respond when I contacted him for what I thought was a hidden charge. Turned out it was just a coincidence with the timing on my notifications. He handled the situation in a professional & respectable manner. So I give an additional A+ rating for customer service as well 👌🏼

The best app. Love that this app exists i asked about phase shift and you answered me with the solution thank you. I have anther question/request is there a way to add a rest period between the siren repeats. I’d love to have 5 seconds of rest time between each up and down. Sincerely, Stephen

Almost perfect. Fantastic generator, bought the pro version, but unfortunately the volume slider is terrible. Never works, I have to use the ipad pro hardware buttons. This slider is very thin, close to the bottom, and always opens, when I touch it, the window to enter manually the volume number.

Looking for Notes. This app is great! Quite a lot of functionality. I am very impressed. However, I’m looking for an app that will generate note frequencies relative to alternate tunings. A-432, A-444. This app has the needed note thumbnails to select all of the notes, and the sound indeed generates. I would have given it 5 stars if it incorporated an ability to change the reference frequency.

I love this!. I just received a cochlear implant two months ago and after being deaf for decades it is such a joy to “see” how much I’m hearing! I have so enjoyed discovering more of my new hearing through the music page - especially identifying between what i can hear and tonal differences! This is absolutely fascinating! And so worth paying for the pro version! Thanks so much for creating this!!!

Excellent. Instead of searching for frequency tracks online that is corrupted with random music, I was able to use this tool to generate the sound I needed. This has everything and buying the premium version was so worth it.

Better than the others!. I tried about a dozen frequency generators and found them to all be junk. This one works great!

Best tool for an unusual problem.. Something was rattling in my car when playing music through my stereo. Problem was it would only rattle on certain bass notes and no song would create the rattle long enough for me to find it. It had driven me nuts for months! I picked up a cassette adapter to pipe my iPhone audio into my car stereo. Then I purchased this awesome App and immediately pulled up the Musical Note menu. Starting at the bottom, I began stepping up the note scale until BAM! There it was! I was able to reproduce the rattle. You won’t believe what I found. My spare garage door opener was vibrating inside my plastic glove box every time a bass guitar hit that note. From that moment, this Audio Function Generator from Thomas Gruber became worth 100 times what i paid for it. Thank You Tom! You rescued my driving sanity.

Solid set of tools. Pretty solid set of basic tools to measure with. Wish they had a feature that included noise generation and blocked frequencies to test for reverb decay times, but for now this will work.

Great app, fix background battery burn. My battery consumption shows %73 used by this app despite not using it at all in the past 24 hours and not even seeing it in list of apps allowed for background refresh. However it is managing to run in the background, it is killing my battery. Once you fix this bug and properly incorporate background app refresh integration, I will bump to 5 stars.

helps with tinnitus?. I’ve been testing a new idea to reduce tinnitus, ie to listen to the pitch that matches the pitch i hear due to tinnitus. this app has easy to use features and good sound quality. i just wish it would run in the background so i can multitask while doing this therapy. i’ll let you know how well it works to reduce tinnitus. (the idea is the brain creates ringing in the ears to compensate for frequencies compromised due to damage to certain parts of the cochlea. if the auditory nerve can be stimulated at these frequencies, so the theory goes, maybe the brain will stop simulating them)

Need to pay for what I want!. Not good! I needed to pay for all of its features including to extend the frequency range because the free version of the app only has a frequency range from 100 Hz to 10 kHz and I don’t like that! This app also has frequency sweeps but the free version of the app only makes it so the frequency sweep setting can only be set at 440 Hz to 1 kHz which I do not like! There are so many more features that I needed to pay for to even do those! The price for all those features is $8.99 but my mom and dad does not allow my to pay for apps that are like these!

Has Everything. Not only do I find this app very beautifully designed from a graphic viewpoint it’s also very functional and easy to use. The features are basically what everybody needs for testing and calibrating audio equipment. It’s a generator not an analyzer so you need to keep that in mind. It doesn’t give you THD distortion measurement or anything like that but it is a great source generator. I found the pro version well worth the small price. Congratulations to the author of this program - very nice job!

What an amazing app!. Many sound engineers and musicians would be happy to use this app! Engineers had to buy an expensive CD set or equipment to train their ears in old days, but not you can get this free app with lots of practical features! Blessings to developers of this app! :)

Won't Work With AirPlay. Something has changed with this app. It is a great frequency generator and I use it all the time to set up speakers and especially for balancing my subwoofer and speakers. But something changed and now this app will not work with airplay. That is unacceptable to me. Please fix this.

Super fun app if you have an O-scope to play with. Great how you can pick different wave forms, and do just about anything with them. The time divide slider is cool too can make it match my scope :) Although the sawtooth wave the image shown on the app seems to be inverse of what the actual wave looks like on the scope.

This is THE app you are looking for!. I tried several tone generators and any trap of them allowed for actually selecting a specific tone. This app is by far the best one available. AnD that is what I think of the free version, which did all I wanted and more. The only reason I purchased the pro version was to support the developer for doing such great work. I wish more developers made apps this useful. Thank you very much for a great app!

The update has created issues. This has been a great app. The most current update stops/pauses when the screen locks or goes to sleep creating many issues especially for those who need to pop their phones in their pockets or have power saving/security modes on their devices. Please adjust ASAP!!

No 432hz Option?. Great app, five stars except...the musical notes are all 440hz based and there is no way to change to 432hz, which is a "natural" frequency. Please include the option to allow users to designate a natural base frequency. That way the note chart becomes more useful for everyone. Thanks.

Best of class. I've used 3 other similar apps and this is one is by far the most comprehensive. I particularly like the ability to enter exact numbers with decimals for frequencies, rather than scrolling up or down. Well done, Tom 👍

Awesome! For the Renaissance man!. I like to have a grip on all the fundaments of the world around me. I want to be able to produce a sound down to the hertz, know the direction of north, or know the percentage of the Moon’s surface illumination, and that is that. Power to the people!

Works GREAT on MacOS Monterey!. Since many iOS apps will run on Monterey, I was hoping this one would. And boy does it ever. As great as this app is on iPhone, it's even better on the Mac because there are many more ways to route the output to a device of your choosing without having to deal with "convenience" of the beloved Lightning adapter.

Excellent. Previous rating was a mistake. Sorry, I wrote the bad review on this one based on my experience with a different generator. My son and used this one to drive an amp for a homemade Chladni plate and it was awesome how it was able to move up through the frequencies. Son got an A on the project and was asked several times to repeat the experiment for others at school. Sorry again. Good job on the app.

I bet it’s great, but I can’t use it.. With no VoiceOVer support, this app is pretty much useless to me; it’s just as easy to use my physical function generator with my iPad as a magnifier. At least it has physical buttons that I can memorize; meanwhile this app isn’t useable if you’re vision-impaired. Apple makes it fairly simple to add accessibility to apps; even things like having correct labels on buttons and menu items would go a long way. It’s too bad, as the developer seems to want to make a good product, but not including accessibility, even on a basic level, makes it hard to recommend.

Hearing test. This app is amazing. You can test on a good set of headphones the quality snd range of both ears. To be able to dial up and frequency and bd happy with your hearing is a great relief Thankyou for this app

Why can’t I open it?. This app has always worked the way it’s supposed to however since I’ve updated it, I can no longer open it from my phone screen nor can I delete it. I can access the app through the App Store only

Great product. Does everything I needed and more. Was able to determine a speaker in a home theatre was wired backwards by using phase shift.

Excellent app. This app provides a flat, 20Hz to 20kHz, ) ultra-low distortion sine wave for audio testing of the amplifiers I design and build. It is easy to use, and has a 0 dBV max output, sufficient for most purposes. I highly recommend it.

Outstanding flexibility with a very useful, intuitive UI. Does everything you’d ask of it, and the pro version adds even more cool features. Lots of tweakability, and very resolute, allowing you to dial in exactly the tones you need. Sad to discover I can’t hear anything over 13khz, but that’s what you get for being an old drummer. 😭😭

I find a sound, difficult to explain to other. With this app, I could explain to our Motorola technician, what is the exact frequency that we heard some times. Without this app, it's just funny to explain with mouth : 7110 Hz. Thank's

Audio frequency generator. I Purchased the professional version of this program, and when I had to replace my iPad all of my apps and programs were loaded onto the new pad. But since this has happened none of my preset default frequencies are staying in the very first page as I have set them. This is something that should be happening with the free version. But I Purchased the professional version a few years ago. This app should be saving my presets and does not. Thomas Gruber if you were out there… Help!

I love this tone generator. Very accurate and easy to use. I wish i could find a two tone generator like this one for some radio alignement i do here. But this one, for what it does is very very good.

Just what I needed!. I was having issues with my TV where certain sounds were making a rattling noise. With this app, I was able to send a tone through my Apple TV via AirPlay, find the troublesome frequency and isolate the source. A great tool!

Very versatile app.. This app did exactly what I needed and is the most versatile of all the similar apps I evaluated for my needs. The multiple and independent generators were particularly useful to me.

WAS good. No longer free to play anything under 100 hurts. Almost useless for stereo tuning now and I am not paying for a basic sound generator. Had this app for years they just ruined it.

Developer got greedy. Just about everything in the “pro” version was 100% free before February 2025. Google has free 1hz generators bro.

Frequency control for noise generators. Great app! Is there any way to vary the frequency of the noise generators as well as phase control? Another tinnitus sufferer here. I am looking to match the noise of my tinnitus as close as possible and then play with the phase.

Basic features paywalled after update. The use of an update to remove the full frequency range without paying a subscription is absurd and unacceptable.

Get this one. I only needed the basic functions but it performed those well. Very polished app.

Easy and functional. The basic version works great. The programmable preset is excellent as is the sweep function.

Does not show spectrum for names colored noise. Why do you not show the word trim For the various colored noise? This stupid the time history icons are meaningless

Where’s the manual sweep. I would use this app if it had a manual sweep where I could stop at a frequency to detect speaker buzzes, rattling, and air leaks.
