IVerify Basic Comments & Reviews 2026
Uninstalling. How can I uninstall this app? It cost $3 and then $16 a month after that. I’ll pay for this month but I can’t see this in my subscriptions on my phone. I like the app! I just don’t need it now.
Trusted Computers section. I am surprised tat this area has not been updated in the guide. Apple changed the mechanism of trusting a computer or not and removed the developer section from iOS. If you previously had a trusted computer but want your phone to quit automatically connecting to it you need to go to settings/general/reset/reset location and privacy. Then your phone will no longer trust any computer. If this was updated I would give this app 5 stars.
Removed background monitoring. I originally bought this app because it was recommended for continual background monitoring. They have now removed this feature in the latest update. It literally says contact sales. It’s no longer worth a dime and shame on them for doing this to people that bought the app for this reason.
Very informative but nothing special. Bumped down because I sent a question and never got a response. The app says I’m using DoH but under wi-fi settings is says I’m still using xfinity dns???? Leave on automatic or set to manual and 1.1.1.1. For dns server? How do I really know where my dns queries are going?
My phone is so hacked. When I bought this app I didn’t expected to do wonders, what I did expected was to the least tell me is something was wrong not even what it was. The hacker can, read it very well, can read, spy in any shape and form delete etc, remotely and you tell my everyday that my device is secure. I am quite sure he can even review your app and laugh at it as I sen you this message, all this on an IOS platform. This bad is your app.
Waste of money.. This app was installed just to see if it worked. It doesn’t. Mine and my husbands phones have both been hijacked. This has been confirmed by Apple and Verizon! Just to see if this would have saved us untold headaches I installed it to put it in our new phones. Simply out, it didn’t work! Not a single issue was found on not one, but two hijacked devices. All thumbs up. Ha! All hands out - wanting my money back.
Outdated app. Some good initial instructions on how to secure my iPhone 13 pro. However, some instructions are outdated and work for previous versions of iOS, not 15.3, which I currently have. iVerify Trail of Bits, please update instructions to the most current version of iOS. Also, DNS does not work correctly in iOS version 15.3.
IVerify.. I had a T-Mobile employee clone our phones and get our bank and personal info. Since iVerify. we have no issues.
It was once an okay app. But then they suddenly switched to a model where you have to now pay for what once was their most basic services. I would stay away from this app. It was barely worth what it cost several years ago to download. Now they cannot be trusted to not make you pay for more for the basic features. I am deleting the app after this review.
Recent update removed features. Since it launched this app has had the capability to scan your device in the background regularly. The latest update removed this, and now you can only do so on their enterprise app only available to organizations. Removing features people paid for is never a good look…
Price a bit steep for what you get. Of course, the only thing this app can tell you is your security posture because iOS is a walled garden. The only way to have true insight into security of an iOS device is the enterprise grade level. Nothing wrong with that for non-security minded people. However, I’ve offered all of this exact information on my personal website for free for the current and past two iOS firmware versions, not to mention the same material. I paid the $5 knowing it would be worthless for myself, but even for non-security minded people, it’s a bit steep to pay.
A great, “must have“ app!. I tell anyone who cares the slightest bit about security and privacy that they must use an iPhone and get this app. It’s terrific. One area it could be improved however: it would be great if it explained exactly why to upgrade iOS versions and what security improvements each release has incorporated.
Needs a non-paranoid mode. Some of the stuff suggested (disabling Bluetooth) is overkill even for many of the people who use this app. Most people like using their airpods. The stuff that adds inconveniences should be kept in a higher category.
It’s good but …. How is there not a single option to reset all the guides? If I reset my settings or if a software update causes a toggle to reset I have to go through what is already “marked as done”. It’s like the developer wants you to use the app only once. If I am missing the option to reset all guides then I will make changes to this review. Until then it really makes this app a Google search away from being replaced (a free alternative).
This is great. I’m pretty savvy with my iPhone settings but I’m learning quite a bit more with this app. Easy to use, quick to the point explanations, and well designed.
One Major Issue Ruins the App's Value. While this app is useful, there are free apps that offer similar features. To make this app worth it's price the developers will need to add the ability to use a custom DNS (similar to what DNS Security and DNSecure offer) or at the very least offer a DNS that blocks ads and ad-trackers. So far they only give you 3 choices, none of the 3 block ads or ad-trackers AND one is from a company that not only collects an ungodly amount of user data but is also notorious for going against their own ToS. Of course I'm talking about Google's DNS. If you value privacy, you're not going to use Google DNS So if the developers are truly serious about security and privacy they can easily prove it by adding the ability to block ads and trackers on a systemwide level by either allowing users to choose a custom DNS or offering an ad blocking DNS such as Adguard or Mullvad DNS. For the record the best DNS right now is NextDNS but you have to pay for it's ad blocking feature thus why I would like the ability to add custom DNS's so I can add it.
Changes. This was a great app I’ve used for years. It’s disappointing with current changes. Similar to others now having to learn the removal of metadata option no longer available with several other options previously available.
Amazing. Amazing application for individuals who favour internet privacy, would prefer a FAQ stating what the differences are between the basic and advanced EDR features and a payment portal where we can pay a monthly subscription instead of contacting sales representatives
Silently removed main feature. The whole point of this app was the automated background scanning. That’s what I paid $5 for. Recently they _silently_ removed this feature. I only discovered this because I noticed the icon had changed. Now you have to run the scan by hand. This is not the product I paid for. Very shady move. How do you trust a security company that silently removes the security scanning feature you paid for?
Solid Security App!. Finally, I have found an app for my iPhone & iPad that I trust to keep me safe. iVerify is a solid security suite that offers protection across every aspect of your device. And it is well worth the few dollars they ask to gain access to this premier security app. I would recommend iVerify to anyone. Period.
2 DNS icons. I needed to factory reset my phone recently. When reinstalling Iverify, I found there were 2 icons under the VPN & Network setting. This also happened when I first downloaded for the first time, but at some point was corrected. How can this be rectified? Is there an update needed? Thanks, I’m God’s
Impressed. After having my Apple ID and iCloud compromised, l am impressed with the safeguards iVerify offers. I’m still going through the security measures l can implement to hopefully eliminate any future hackers from violating our privacy and compromising our information.
By and for elderly by privacy ascetics. This is a good app in a lot of ways, but a bad one in others because it was done by privacy ascetics. There are nice things in it, like that they will warn you if your software is out of date. In other cases; they want us to be elderly boomers who neither have a smartphone nor participate in the world. They recommend turning of Bluetooth. Fine, whatever. Do you have a watch (🍏 or otherwise) or AirPods? Well, they don’t. Do you have speakers you want to play music on? Don’t do that. Obviously they don’t do stuff like have a watch, play music, at least not without wired headphones. They want you to turn off airdrop, too, not just make sure you don’t accept things from everyone. This is an app by people who only do serious things with serious intent. They are the scolds who hate fun. Abstractly their advice is good and yet it is the digital equivalent of being told to eat brown rice, no red meat, no alcohol, and certainly no chocolate. Sure, the advice is good, but who wants to live like that? Oh, you do? You’ll love this app. It is the stern parent of the digital age.
For non tech savvy only. Save your $ A majority of this is just advising you. It can’t see what security measures you have already put in place and advise you on what’s missing, it’s just a$5 run through of what you can do to secure your phone better. The ‘limit software exploits’ section could not detect that my auto updates were on. You get a content blocker for safari basically.
App not reflecting suggested changes. I’ve gone through each of the suggestions and have either toggled on or off, according to the recommended settings, but every category continues to show “0 of x marked complete”. If these changes aren’t reflecting, how am I to trust that the app is even functional???
Best Security tool for IPhone.. I have been getting harassed by an advanced cyber bully for months now and this app makes it impossible for him to target my IPhone. Seriously you get advanced threat defense like enterprise protection for price of a coffee.
Checklist App. Honestly this app is just a checklist of things you can do to keep safe. Most of the things i had already done way before this app came about. I wish i could get a refund. This app is how to keep your phone safe for dummies kind of thing.
Useless. The only thing this app does is tell you to turn things off like Bluetooth, etc. When you do so even if you’re selective, half of the things you rely and don’t work. I don’t really need an app to tell me that Bluetooth could be a potential security threat. I balance that against the usefulness of having my car radio receive phone calls when I’m driving. I think this is a total waste of money.
Not useful, No notifications. Just learned about iOS 15.3 from Matt Green on Twitter, not iVerify once again. I’ve been using this app since it came out and not once have I learned about an update from it (notifications nor widget). So, finally uninstalling. Reflects incredibly poorly on Trail of ____, the company behind it.
Great security app. Simple and affordable security app for your iPhone. While it’s hard to crack into an iPhone, it’s still possible, and these people will help you catch it if it happens. Definitely recommend the small payment for all the features it offers.
Rocky Dog. Most excellent app with superb content ! Not being very tech savvy, I would easily become confused. With the jargon and the functionality of same. This app gave me the guidance to reasonably protect my devices. And as I’d follow their guide lines along with their explanation of the process as to why I was being directed to change things. I began to understand and relate. All while feeling at ease my devices were reasonably protected. Now am researching the cause and effect of of all user end security info to try and remain secure in the quagmire of today’s digital world. Thanks iVerify for putting all this info under one umbrella.
Excellent app. Piece of mind. Excellent app. More features than expected. However within the past several day the app started saying that my iPhone needs an update which upon checking it doesn’t, my iOS version is current. However besides that I highly recommend
Much needed. Even though there is security info/training available most of us only do rudimentary or no levels of learning what and how to secure our devices. I feel this app takes it a step or two further that is much needed by a lot of people. Based on other attempts at providing a tool like this that have eventually been remove from the store I am hoping this one isn’t. Good start to addressing a serious problem.
Helpful tips. Since the app has limited access to the iPhone, I imagine that limits the “scan” feature greatly. So I don’t put much faith into it. Still, it provides some reassurance. The tips and suggestions provides a wealth of information. I’d say it 99% matches what I’ve read elsewhere at various places online. Although, it’s great to have all of this in one place and in a format that helps keep track of everything, like a checklist.
DOES NOT work on this iPad. This might be a minor annoyance, but Apple should not indicate that an app works on this iPad when it doesn’t support landscape mode. I use my ipad almost exclusively in that mode with the attached keyboard, and to have an app that doesn’t support landscape mode is, well, annoying. Redundant, I know, but there it is.
Maybe worth $.99. It’s innately limited in what it can do, so it’s understandable that it can’t do much. But most of it is just a manual checklist that will create a troublesome phone for a non-technical end user. Can’t help but feel the description oversells what the app can do and how much it can help on its own.
Amazing Product, A must!. Amazing product, highly recommended! Easy to follow, easy to secure your data and privacy.
Allows for a secure device. This application keeps me on track for keeping my device secure. It has been well worth the money.
It’s all about our intent and willingness to help. I give it 5 stars because the intent is to keep our personal information and our belongings safe from cyber creeps. Unfortunately some get pleasure off scamming the innocent. IVerify, Cloudflare, and Trail of bits has helped me stay confident in having a safe environment for my family in a digital world
Does nothing. This app really doesn’t do anything. The selling point for this app is that it gives you lists of what youre able to do to se yes your phone……. All these lists can be found online by Google searching how to upgrade your internet security doesn’t do any deep scans or anything of that matter. Don’t pay for something you can Google for free
Good advice, Good app. I’m an IT Consultant. I bought this app knowing Apple’s way of sandboxing limits how security apps work. It’s simple, but great for reminders and education about how to secure iDevices. The information on how to best secure the phone by using the built-in settings is great. Having a shortcut for Cloudflare DoH is great. Update: dropping to two stars DoH not working on iPadOS 14. Not installing profiles for any DoH provider. Reinstall not working. Also, app needs to be updated for newer models. It recommends I upgrade to iPad Pro 2018 or newer despite having a Pro 2020. Needs landscape mode for iPads with keyboards. Will bump back up to five stars when issues resolved.
Good scare. Something very strange happened to me with the last update of this application yesterday. I could not connect to many internet sites, some even required me to send email to their help site informing that they had blocked my IP due to many requirements. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and everything was back to normal.
Great App. This is a great app that walks you through a list of settings to help setup a more secure iphone. It’s a great app that explains why you should use those settings. It is getting a bit outdated but most settings aren’t far off from where they were. I’d give it a 4-5 Star if it was updated. I do recommend it to everyone and would love to see a list of recommendations for Safari Experimental Features.
Good But Needs to be updated. It gives you a lot of information but requires you to manually make all of the changes. It's a shame that it can't pull up the settings and just allow you to check or uncheck and then apply all changes at once. Besides that, the instructions are dated. iOS 14.3 is out now and the steps given by this app do not match what you see in the menus and the screens which is somewhat confusing. You have to try to go and figure out where the setting is by yourself, for each one of them and there are Many settings it suggests changing. It really needs an update to the latest (current) OS in use today to be less confusing.
??. So I received an email saying my info had been compromised via a data breach with iverify. Can you please explain why I was never informed about this directly from you? Rather, a well known data breach site? Thanks...
Invaluable tool. I found the name of this App looking online for help dealing with a neighbor who’s a software engineer criminal hacker. So many of the directives have helped me deal with this ever expanding cyber world where our personal lives are at the mercy of some really evil people. Thanks for being of help.
App Recommendation. An app in which I can recommend to people to use and run through several exercises that promotes training and awareness. For years I have used a collection of links which at times change or are no longer available. This just simplifies this process. Recommendation for the developer - as IOS changes and users install different IOS versions, will the app detect the version and provide the instructions accordingly or will this app prompt the user to select their IOS version and provide instructions for that specific version?
Meh not worth it. This app does not go beyond the standard basic checks seems like. Basically enable lock your phone, face recognition, update your stuff and thats it. If i see anything that goes beyond the very basic analysis i will update this review and rate. For now i think is an overpriced app that reminds you to lock your phone and update it. No offense to the developer, theres no real use case here specially since the iOS Apple store provides pretty good security controls since iOS is not open source. Pro: well made app very easy to use.
Don’t waste your money!. This is a referral app only! Meaning it points the user to vulnerabilities and suggests remedies, but takes NO ACTION towards said remedies. In my case it claims to have scanned my entire device in less time than it took to purchase the app, yet finds it to be secure. For a PAID app, it behaves as though it is a freebie. After reading other reviews, it seems as though the developer has standard canned responses, no solutions, and does not appear to be in search of any. Disappointing...money down the drain. Yes it is only $2.99, but it was MY $2.99...remitted for services that were NOT rendered.
Very simple, clear, and relevant. App is well designed and works well. The concept of both doing automated checks as well as education is great. Anyone following through the checklists can make appropriate judgements of what risks they’re willing to take and they’ll be more secure for it.

Save Image W/out Metadata Removed in v37?. Title says it all. A really useful feature - saving images with out metadata looks to have been rm’d in the latest release, v37.
Great app. We are all suffering from scam messages and trash trying their best to get their hands on our money, so if this app can give us some peace of mind it’s well worth it
No longer happy. I have used iVerify for years. Not happy that I have an ugly app icon, plastered with “ basic” when I payed for the app. And furious that the new features are shoved in your face with the new interface but home users can’t access these features, why not?!! You don’t even offer the opportunity for an in app purchase. Did iVerify give any thought to the users that supported them all this time? I think not.
Overpriced. This basically tells you what settings to turn on/off within the iOS settings menu for better security. All of which most people have done and can also be found online. Also gives you tips for better security across different social platforms. Not worth the hefty price tag!

VERY INFORMATIVE. It is crazy how many things that can be leaked through our phones. Excellent buy for anyone interested in protecting their privacy and data. I never knew of 80% of the things that have been brought to my attention. Good buy.
Annoying notifications. Stop spamming with update now notifications, one time is enough per update. Also definitely don’t do it when the device has already been updated!
Turned conspirationists? Or FUD marketing?. Uninstalled, the day they started spamming my phone about big bad government out to get me. Sorry not into conspiracy theories.
Your app needs an update.. The navigation and informations/graphics on your app have a different look than on MY iPhone. Not a very precise or secure verification... For every iOS update, you need to reevaluate how it impacts your app's display and how you direct us with your informations/graphics. 🙄
Must have for basic opsec. If you are a journalist or activist, you have to worry about operational security. This app helps people without a strong tech background lower their attack space.
Hm. Hm
Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. idea. is there a way to block apps from injecting cookies into your device?
Don’t waste your money if you have a newer phone. Don’t waste your money if you have a new phone
Could not finish first scan. I tried to perform my first scan, however on step 9 iVerify did not show up so that i could share and get the report 9. Select Share with iVerify. There doesnt seem to be any place i can get customer support. I guess i just wasted money
Useless. My phone got hacked and this app was not able to even show any sign of any compromise to my phone Disappointing
Over rated waste of time. Didn’t tell me anything I know
‘Detects’ Threat, then a broken link to instructions. Without details and instructions to fix, what use is the app?
Scam of an app. This app does nothing but give you a d.i.y list on how to change several settings on your iPhone to make it more secure. You'll save yourself money and the trouble if you look up an forum with this same quality of information. Very disappointed.
No bueno. Just offered basic security recommendations doesn’t do anything for you don’t buy
Very poor process. When you follow the directions to start a scan, you get 2 choices - power down or make an emergency call. This makes the scan FAIL. Very poor design - I see others have the same issue
App can not detect compromised iPhones. App is just basic security and recommendations. I have a hacked iPhone that’s being monitored by a stalker neighbor. This app cannot seem to detect a hacked iPhone. It’s not worth $2.99 it should be free as it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do.
Hacked. Phone Is a radio station now so I don’t know but feel like i need refund. I don’t text a lot just straight to the point.
Pressing all three buttons brings up EMERGENCY RESPONSE!. Why would you tell us to press all three buttons and hold? I feel like you’re working some scam or joke.
it’s very helpful.. I do enjoy the top tier background checks against detection & malware! it’s super organized & walks you through it all much enjoyed!!!
Forensics doesn’t work on newer iPhones. Will not scan, triggers emergency response call
I am impressed. Easy to use and the results don’t take long to come.
This app caused me a tremendous amount of grief. I purchased this app and when I installed it on my IPhone 11 it shutdown cellular data. T-mobile couldn’t figure it out and I had to take my phone to Apple and they were the ones that figured out this app was blocking my cellular Data.
From a Boomer. Unfortunately I don’t understand or know what many terms mean so I’m going on limited faith that I’m doing the right thing. Maybe there needs to be a Verify for dummies/boomers.
Tracks you. It says your data isn’t collected but I found 7 marketing trackers built in. I find it ironic that a security app (which I paid for) is tracking and most likely selling my data.
This app does not scan your phone for hacks. As the title said - The app lists very basic advice for security. It does not scan your phone and inform the user if they’ve been hacked. Which is a shame.
Does it do anything?. I honestly wonder if this actually does any thing.
Impossible to activate Scan. To activate a Scan for Diagnostic, the app requires you to press the two volume buttons and the Power button. This combination activates a screenshot. I’ve tried 20 times and still can’t activate the scan. Why make it so complicated?
App not reflecting suggested changes. I’ve gone through each of the suggestions and have either toggled on or off, according to the recommended settings, but every category continues to show “0 of x marked complete”. If these changes aren’t reflecting, how am I to trust that the app is even functional???
Must have against Pegasus. Amazingly good recommendations. Great interface.
Stopped Working. Paid for app and less than 24 hours, just stopped working. Won’t scan for issues. Just says no problems. How can the app tell if there’s any problem if it just does nothing. Disappointed! Want my money back!!!!
Not good. This app shows version 14 of my phone even though i actually have version 15.
What is this actually doing?. Aside from telling me to disable JavaScript in safari (breaks most sites) and other “tips” what does this app provide? Please respond before I refund this nonsense.
Great app. Thank you to the App maker. It’s awesome and much needed.
Notifications Spam. Abuses the notifications permissions to tell me daily info about the spyware market and how great Trail of Bits is. That’s nice, but I’m not interested in yet another app who thinks notifications permissions are an excuse to cram ads into their app. Also, the app really doesn’t do anything.
A great, “must have“ app!. I tell anyone who cares the slightest bit about security and privacy that they must use an iPhone and get this app. It’s terrific. One area it could be improved however: it would be great if it explained exactly why to upgrade iOS versions and what security improvements each release has incorporated.
Family sharing. Not at all clear how the app, once purchased, can be shared with family members.
Price. Why does this app say it is .99 then charges $1.99 plus .99 I don’t mind paying this but transparency is important!
Useless. Really? You pay for 10 recommendations that are for free and well known on every website? Threats Notifications? What a joke. I wonder how Apple is allowing this on the Appstore. Total disaster!
Last update. Last update says I have a Face ID problem. Face ID works fine
Another fake app. This only gives you suggestions it in it self does nothing at all your better of just searching for info online
Just read the manual. Just seems to check if your face id, screen lock and iOS are on or up to date. Doesn’t scan for virus as far as I can tell.
Changes. This was a great app I’ve used for years. It’s disappointing with current changes. Similar to others now having to learn the removal of metadata option no longer available with several other options previously available.
Doesn’t seem to work. When pushing both volume buttons and the power button at the same time it brings up the power down slide along with medical ID or emergency call. It does not trigger a scan.
No Updates. What happened to increased security news updates? None. None since July 17, 2022. Not even an article about Apple's security alert and update. It helps to be in the know.
Scan won’t run completely. Forensic scan, the feature that everyone wants, always fails. No other diagnostics other than “scan failed to run, please try again”. Waste of $0.99.
Not working on IPhone 16 Max Pro. Unable to get the forensic scan to work on iPhone 16 Max Pro. Holding the three buttons down as instructed never led to a “vibration” indicating scan began. Not sure how to get help either.
Does this work??. Does this thing actually do anything? I followed the guidelines and made the adjustments but really, does it do anything???
Very nice. Still exploring
To run a scan, hold the buttons that trigger an emergency call??. Someone there needs to rethink things. Holding down both volume buttons and the power button locks the phone and starts a countdown to an emergency call.
Great app. Great app, works well
Love it!. So far this is such great info!!
scan attempt activated emergency sos. when i hold the side buttons as directed the scan never starts i am taken to the emergency sos screen. even after i hold them down for 10 seconds or 15 seconds it does not make a difference. do i have to somehow disable the emergency features on my phone to use the app?
USELESS: please give more details on what specific items are being checked. It would be very helpful if the list of specific threats/breadcrumbs that the app checks for, was provided. Without this, it’s hard to simply trust the developer it’s doing a good job of checking for the right things.
Not viable on iPhone. Requires all 3 buttons be pressed until a vibration is felt to do a scan. All I got was the iPhone power down screen after a dozen plus attempts. Not worth the hassle.
don't waste your time. i understood that this app would proactively "protect" my device by alerting me when security issues arose, or at the least, when i opened it. i just noticed that when i opened the app, it said everything was fine. the i opened the settings app and checked to updates and then immediately closed the settings app when i saw that there was a new os available. then i opens the iverify app again and "all-of-a-sudden" my device was "not secure".
