Cook’n is the best‼️. Thanks to Don Oaks and all the Cook’n team for putting out such a fabulous recipe app. The customer service at Cook’n is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!! I will soon get a new iPad to keep in my kitchen and it will be synced with my Mac and iPhone Cook’n app. The instruction videos are beyond wonderful and so easy to understand. Putting all my special internet, magazine and hand written recipes together into one “Cook’n Universe” is a dream come true! Rona Wolbe Atlanta GA It’s 2 years later and I still think this is one of the best apps for a Cook’n fool like me❣️helps me stay so organized when I’m preparing for guests and for when I’m tired of the same old meals…. I go to my recipe book I’ve created and get inspired ‼️ happy 2022 to all🍾🥂Rona Wolbe Atlanta GA

Excellent program!. I first bought Cook’n on CD in order to organize and possibly print my own recipe collection. Over the years, it’s capabilities have grown and I have come to appreciate many of the other features, particularly being able to access my recipes from all my devices and being able to capture recipes online. Gone are the days of stacks of magazine clippings and printed recipes... now I have a digital collection of recipes to search when I want to try something new. I started out resistant to the subscription model, but as I have seen the developer’s genuine investment in the program, evident in constant development, frequent updates and new features, I think the program is worth supporting and hope it continues to thrive!

Easy, Quick, and Free. Got this to share recipes across my devices from iphone and macbook to my Alexa Echo devices. Haven't actually attempted to use across platforms yet, but on my macbook it is amazing. I just copy and paste the website with the recipe onto the app's search bar and it pulls up the webpage without hesitation. Then I click "capture" in the top right corner and it saves the recipe to my cookbook. And the format that it saves it in is simpler and easier to follow than the website because it doesn't have ads popping up, I don't have to keep scrolling up and down, and it adds the amounts of the ingredients from the ingredient list to the actual instructions on its own! I love it!

Fabulous recipe organizer. I have been using this program almost since the very beginning so have seen it come so very far. I actually don’t know what I would do without it. Not only do I have all my favorite recipes that I’ve actually made (and now can easily edit and share), But now instead of having folders, binders and drawers full of recipes that I’ve torn out of magazines, I have them easily organized in this fabulous app. And one of the other really cool features is if you are a premium member, their support staff is the best of any program I’ve ever used. I always get personal responses to emails that I send asking how to do something no matter how complicated I think it is. I can’t say enough about this and highly recommend it to anyone who likes to collect recipes. With the new capture feature it couldn’t be easier to pull things from magazines, Blogs and other online sources.

Must Have App for Cooks. I have used the Cook’n app since 2010. I was allowed to BETA test it for MAC users. I was only looking for recipe cards and a format that allowed organization. But I got much more. It is easy to use. New features are introduced by videos. Newsletters provide great information. But one of the best things about this app is the support when problems arise, which is seldom. They are knowledgeable, responsive, and have never abandoned me to figure out an issue. Their instructions are written step by step. If the first instructions don’t work, they research further and send another set. This is unlike the support staff with many other apps...apps that are expensive, but have to be abandoned when they become impossible to use. Initially, I was a bit disappointed when they switched to a subscription service. But it is much easier than purchasing “new versions” since they are continuously adding new features and improving the old ones at no extra charge. Whether I am in the kitchen, at the beach, or visiting relatives in Texas, my recipes are no further than my iPhone or iPad. It’s the best.

A Trust Worthy Company and App. I have been using Cook'n since you had to purchase the software and before you could use them on smarter then me devices. I fell in love with the Cook'n program because it gave me a place where I could store my cherished recipes, grab new ones off my friends posts and from the many cooking and canning groups I belong to. I love that I can make my very own cookbooks and carry them with me on my iPad. The Cook'n cloud is easy to sync in fact they designed their program so even I can use it and that's saying a lot. With cloud I use my recipes everywhere I go. I love that I can share my recipes with my sister and have been able to collect family recipes with ease using Cook'n. I have subscribed to their year long subscription and was able to collect their wonderful cookbooks once a month. I have also used their pay monthly program I love that no matter the circumstances they can be there for my needs. Through the years if there was ever a problem they have ALWAYS fixed it honestly most companies would not have honored some of my issues because it was me and not them that messed up. Once, someone sat with me because my computer would not update correctly, it was time consuming yet he stayed until it was fixed. Cook'n has my loyalty because they have been constant and loyal to me.

Disappointed long term customer. Update: support helped me figure out how to access my recipes that they still had in my account (by signing up for the monthly subscription, synced, then cancelled my subscription. This was their idea, not mine.). I changed my review to a 3⭐️ since I have my data back. I still think it's a cool app, especially for busy moms who cook a lot, but I can't justify the monthly cost for it at this stage of my life. Original post edited: I've been a Cook'n customer for years. Paid for the desk top version then later paid for an upgrade (2011). When mobile came out they synced my recipes and I've been happily using the mobile version for years. Got a new phone and the app wouldn't synchronize to my account. Contacted support and they can't find my email or account in their system. Pulled up app on my old phone, confirmed my email address was there and magically, support found me. BUT! They won't allow me to synchronize my recipes unless I subscribe. $5-$10/mo to store my recipes??!!

Love my Cook’n!. I’ve used the Cookn app for many years and seen many changes to upgrade and enhance the program. I love the convenience of having my own recipes at my fingertips in the kitchen on my iPad. I love sharing a professional looking recipe through emails at a touch or two. I love the extra space I have in my cookbook cabinet since I have many books on my app in addition to my own.. The ease of entering my recipes and capturing recipes from the internet is a great feature. The nutritional info is a help. I’ve appreciated the support I’ve gotten from the Cookn techs when needed. I’m looking forward to printing my Gluten free book of recipes. The app does so many more things than I’ve mentioned which are so cool and too numerous to cover here.

Love this program. I have been using this app for just over a year. I have been collecting recipes for about 40 years. They are everywhere, seldom can I find the one I’m looking for. They are on my computer, in spiral bound notebooks, recipe boxes, recipe organizer notebook, and website that let you save on their site. Ugh This says nothing of my extensive recipe book collection. With that said I have entered over 1400 recipes into Cook’n so far. It’s almost addicting. I have a long way to go. I am still enjoying the process and finding recipes that I haven’t seen in ages. Oh fun! It is so easy to enter recipes and then the search is easy or reading multiple recipes and coming up with combo from all of them! My husband use to ask if this dish was repeatable. Well now YES it is. Because it’s EASY to adapt a current recipe and save it as a different name. Wah La repeatable! Oh yeah there support group is fantastic, timely and friendly. For me it is well worth the price. Have I said how much I love this program! Oh yeah it’s on my phone, my tablet, and my desktop. And it’s super easy to share a recipe when someone request it. ( it’s on my phone).

Needs work. UPDATE The developers have gone above and beyond anything I’ve experienced in the past with any software company to address my issues. They have tweaked the “capture” process to help the app “capture” a recipe in Cook’n format rather than the very busy website format. I found them to be most concerned and attentive to helping me with my issues and feel they now deserve 10 stars rather than the 5 that is possible. They even told me to keep in touch if there are any other “capture” issues and they will tweak those as well. Well done, gang! Thanks so much. PREVIOUS Like the features that are available. Really like when the app reformats what you see on the recipe website into a much more readable recipe. HOWEVER, the downside to this feature is that it only works at most 50% of the time. So unfortunately, half my recipes remain cluttered with all the noise surrounding it, including moving, shifting, changing, annoying pop up ads. Contacted the developer about this and was told it happens because of the way a website formats the recipe page. Seems to me some additional development or tweaking of the Cook’n app is needed. Reformatting the recipe from its website was one of the features of Cook’n I was most looking forward to as I despise all the noise on websites. Sadly, I’m still waiting for that feature to work well.

Makes my Cooking easier. I have been using Cookin’ for years. I stopped for almost a year when they went to the subscription plan but found I couldn’t live without it. I can search for recipes, capture them, put them exactly where I want them and pull them up whenever I need them...including in the grocery store! I keep special menus like Thanksgiving so every year I have my basic menu at my finger tips. At potlucks, when someone says “I just have to get your recipe!”, I pull out my phone, pull up the recipe and share right then. Just when I think there couldn’t possibly be another thing to add to this program, they add on another function that I love. Another year of lovin’ Cook’N. I honestly don’t know how anyone gets along without it!

Best of the best!. I’ve been using this app, first on my Mac laptop, and then finally on my phone when the mobile app became available. I waited months for the Mac version of this program to be re-developed and published. It is definitely the best of the ones that I reviewed before I ventured into an electronic version of a cookbook. I have quite a few cookbooks that I added to my collection over the years and I have hundreds of recipes that I have captured to add to my personal collections and share with family and friends. It is rare for me to have any problems with the program\app, but when they do occur, the support staff is always very helpful and have resolved all of my issues. Speaking of support, I just purchased a new Mac laptop with the latest version of the OS so I need to transfer all my books and recipes to the new device. Support was very helpful in explaining how to do that & every instruction they gave me worked like a charm. Well done!

My experience. Over the website you will find places where it will tell you that you can sign up for a cloud account for free … it is for free but if you want to sync your recipes to multiple devices and to the cloud (so that if you ever have to change phones or a different device) then you have to pay a membership fee ($5-$15 depending on what you choose). I got a new phone and lost access to my recipes. I had to buy a basic membership for a month so that I could get them back … this was fine. It was hard for me to get answers about how to get them back until I wrote a review that was honest but not exactly nice (I am rewriting that now-thank you for your help!). Once they responded to me I was able to get help but normally you have to pay a higher priced membership fee for technology help (I understand but just wanted to know if there was a way to get my recipes back before I paid money). A way to call and explain your situation might help? The bad thing was that only some of my recipes came back! I have no clue how that is possible because apparently I should have access to my recipes all of the time but I have done everything to get them back. I at least have a starting point so I am working to retype up my recipes. I suggest doing a backup on your computer as a file as well as a cloud backup. :)

Scam. I generally turn off auto renewal on every subscription so that I can make an intentional decision to renew. In the year that I had Cook’n I really liked it so I moved all of my family recipes to the app. About 6 weeks before my Cook’n subscription was to expire the app suddenly wouldn’t synch with the cloud and I couldn’t access my recipes. I contacted technical support who after a time emailed a potential solution. That didn’t work. A week or so later they offered another solution and when I tried to implement it, I could no longer even log in to the app. I notified technical support and they didn’t respond. A week later I emailed again. No response. I emailed yet again adding that all of my family recipes were in the cloud and I was very worried I would lose them. No response. My subscription expired preventing me access to further technical support, so I had to pay $99 for another year. Low and behold as soon as I paid I could log in and access all of my recipes. Coincidence? Absolutely not.

Almost perfect!. This is really close to what I was looking for in a recipe keeper app. I love that you can save recipes from the internet and create your own cookbooks and categories for them. What it’s missing for me is a notes section at the bottom of the recipe page, so I can add my own notes without editing the original recipe fields. I find I often make little substitutions or additions from while following a recipe I saved, or after cooking a recipe I like to note some adjustments I’d make for next time. It would be nice to add this as a separate field by the star ratings. Also would love the option to categorize/move recipes in bulk rather than one at a time. Not a huge inconvenience but would be a time saver. Lastly, would love to be able to see my star rating by the recipe title from the folder of recipes, so I can open a chapter and easily see which ones I’ve cooked and liked already. Might also be great to be able to sort by star ratings as well as alphabetically, and have the star ratings automatically categorize so I could go see all my 5 star recipes in one category. Overall, love the ability to save recipes and organize my way, and love how easy it is to add recipes!

This app does it all. I love Cook’n! It’s easy to import recipes from the web. They have different ways to print out recipes. I use 5x8 cards and am able to print to this format without a problem. I like the ability to set up chapters in cookbooks. So, it’s easy for me to see all the casserole recipes in my Chicken Cookbook. You can also categorize stuff to quickly find it. They have a menu feature that has lots of options. Have used the shopping feature because I like the other app I currently have. It works on my iPhone and on my PV and syncs immediately. I’ve looked at lots of recipe apps and have used a few others and this is by far the best. And I’m pretty demanding when it comes to features in my recipe app!

Cook’n review. I have had Cook’n for years now. I use it literally every day. I love being able to be at the store, at the spur of the moment decide I want to make something, open a recipe & buy what I need. Today I was buying the turkey for Thanksgiving and decided I would buy things I need to begin Christmas cookies after Thanksgiving. All I had to do was opening the Cook’n app & I was set. Last week I had a small problem with Cook’n on my Mac. I emailed support, tried what they said & it still wouldn’t work. Matthew contacted me, did a remote access, & got it working. He worked diligently to make sure I was completely happy & everything was working correctly. I was so thrilled when he got it working correctly. This time of year is especially busy for everyone & my Cook’n is my #1 help. Thanks to Matthew for making my Thanksgiving preparations a breeze.

Awesome recipe organizer and SO MUCH MORE!!!. I’ve been using Cook’n software for many years on my laptop, dating back to before the existence of an AP! Over the years the developer has continually improved the program with many new, helpful features. It’s evident he has consulted with cooks to determine needs and applies logic. The portability alone allows me to carry my recipes with me on my iPhone so that no matter where I am I have access to them all and no longer need to pre-plan a menu for trips. I share recipes easily via multiple methods and am able to print from my iPhone as well. The cut and paste feature is awesome and entering new recipes is a snap when fields populate automatically. Talk about convenience!!! There are so many great features I haven’t even used yet. Highly recommend subscribing. Customer service is responsive and works hard to resolve issues on a timely manner. You will NOT be disappointed.

Awesome!. I’ve been using Cook’n since 2000 - when all recipes had to be typed in by hand and there wasn’t any way to add photos. It was very basic back then. Over the years they have added so many new wonderful features! And they are constantly adding new features to make a great product even better. When I was expecting house guests who were gluten free (no one in my family is gluten free), I downloaded the Cook’n Gluten Free Cookbook and also captured several gluten free recipes from the internet complete with photos. I used the Menu Planning feature to plan out my menus for while they were here and also used the shopping list feature! These were huge time savers. On the few occasions that I have had to contact Tech Support , a Tech has gotten back to me quickly to solve my problem, even contacting me to be sure their suggested solution worked for me! I have been cooking for over 50 years and Cook’n has helped me to be more creative when I cook. I had used 2 other recipe programs before I started using Cook’n and I have found Cook’n to be the BEST recipe software!

Don't buy. The apps do not work. My ipad will not sync and when recipes downloaded from cloud missing all of the units eg 1 water, 2 flour. It will download one time and then Never sync again it just freezes. I bought a notebook downloaded the regular version to it as it runs Windows 8 downloaded the first time from the cloud and all recipes are missing units like the iPad app. I went back to the desktop which is where the original is and the recipes are correct in it. Don't waste your time it is too frustrating although I will say it works well on the desktop. But I would like to use my iPad in the kitchen not my desktop. Don’t buy this is a bait and switch after paying approximately $79 for it they required you to have a subscription they kept all my recipes in the cloud wouldn’t let me have access to them unless you paid, my review stands as it is your product is a bait and switch. I would give it a negative one if I could.

Really disappointing.... With the good reviews and all the hype of the videos on “capabilities “ that seemed too good to be true, they are. I scanned a recipe from a very old cookbook we had here and it did okay at getting the information into a workable form. It did take some work, but it was pretty unconventional formatting so I understood. When “capturing” any website recipient, and this includes anything I tried “pinning” on Pinterest, it didn’t capture it at all. It simply would load the website up. When I would try to “edit” the recipient, it didn’t have most of the information filled in. It didn’t even “see” the ingredients....a little important for a recipe. This was a tool I so wanted to work and would have gladly paid for the subscription, but like so many, it’s too good to be true. Sadly my family will continue to look for solutions for preserving over a hundred years of recipes.

Great app and great service. I have used Cook’n since the software first came out. I was looking for A recipe organizer would not become obsolete. You see at that time one had to go to the software store and buy a disk. I had tried a few that either no longer ran on my computer or the author simply didn’t support the product any longer That had to be a least 10 years ago. I can’t even remember how I found Cook’n. I took a hiatus from recipes organization for a couple years, right after version 9 came out and before the cloud backup. When I accidentally lost all the work I put into my cookbook (when we went to Windows 10) I decided to look up Cook’n to see if they were still around. I was delighted to see that not only was Cook’n going strong, but also better than ever. Since then I have needed some help for the DVO tech support. They were great and got me up and running. Where many tech support people say you need to get the newest upgrade the my support engineer fixed the problem. I am now back to scanning in my recipes. Thank you, Dan Oakes, and all the Cook’n staff for sticking with your fans. Nancy

Amazing!. It is amazing to be able to search for recipes using the Cook'N app and then capture. . . like magic! It works on my ipads and my iPhone. Using recipe software program for me began in the early eighties. I’ve owned and used most all of them and abandoned all except two. Cook’n is by far the greatest software I have used. It works flawlessly to capture recipes on the Internet, allowing me to choose to which cookbook to use as well as the name of the chapter. Cook’n syncs to cloud enabling me to sync with my iPhone, iPads and my four computers. One thing I use often is when I am shopping and decide I want to make a recipe in my database, I can do a search on my iPhone to bring up that recipe to see what I might need to purchase in order to make that recipe. I’ve had quick and excellent help from support over the years.

The Perfect Cook’ Program. I have been a loyal user of Cook’n since their early days and continue to find it to be the BEST software on the market. It is remarkable to see the advancements Dan and his team have made over the years. I recently upgraded to the latest version of Cook’n and can’t believe all of the wonderful things you can now do with this program. The newest features make using Cook’n a dream. The ability to have all of my recipes at my fingertips anywhere I go is just fantastic. I love the ease with which you can import recipes from the Internet or Pinterest, add photos or videos to your recipe or scan directly into the program. It truly makes cooking for my family so much easier. There is always a way to find answers to whatever questions you might have by exploring their website or contacting their support team. They are very responsive and eager to lend a helping hand. The videos that Dan has created make it easy to learn all the functions of this powerful program. I highly recommend Cook’n to anyone who is looking for an easy way to become more organized, to have the ability to capture and share recipes or even make your own cookbooks. You won’t be disappointed with this program!

I love this app. I have been using the app for a few months now and it has changed the way I approach cooking. I enjoy looking for recipes that use ingredients I already have and then saving them for the next time I want them. In the past I would look up recipes and the next time I’d want to make them I could never find the same one. This takes away that problem. I’ve got all my recipes organized and I even added some of granny’s old recipes to the mix. I look forward to exploring new recipes with this app to help me clear up the clutter because once you capture the recipe it cleans it up to the bare essentials of ingredients and instructions. Today I’m looking up recipes for garlic roasted potatoes and rice pudding. So excited!

Love the app but need help with a problem.. I bought the pc version years ago. Can no longer use it cause of other problems with my laptop. But was excited that i have the app on my ipad. But the last few times i have tried to use it to put recipes from family members my contents pages are all jumbled and i cannot read them . The contents lists are lots of missing words and lots of words on top of one another. Unreadable . Need to know what i can do to fix this . Or is it a fix Cook N needs to fix. Thanks and love to hear an answer soon. I thought about deleting the app and reinstalling but afraid i will lose a whole lot of family recipes . Thanking you in advance Will give bigger rating once i get help. I paid 60 dollars for the software several years ago .. it is of no use to me on laptop anymore , enough said.

Best App Ever!. After 25 years of cooking my recipe collection is massive and worst of all, scattered amongst many different types of recipe a as is a mess. Luckily this app solves my recipe problems!!! All my recipes, regardless of source, in 1 place! Awesome! The “capture” feature makes transferring recipes a breeze. It doesn’t always work perfectly so I usually view this e recipe, after I’ve captured it, to be sure it is accurate. I haven’t loaded all my recipes yet but I’m working on it.😁 At first I thought the “auto sync“ feature seemed convenient but I had to disable it. For whatever reason, it doesn’t accurately capture just the recipes from my detox, smoothie and fasting programs/recipes Pinterest board. If it worked properly it would be a great feature ~ who doesn’t love an app that allows for laziness? Until then, I’ll have to pass on using it as I have had to delete page after page of articles from my recipe book too many times already.

Best Recipe App!. I’ve been using CookN from their early days and have watched it develop and transform through the years. I love all the latest features like importing Pinterest recipes, scanning recipes, adding pictures to recipes and a cool new feature where it lists the ingredient amount in the directions so I don’t have to keep scrolling back up to the ingredients list when my hands are messy from food prep! Most of all I love having my recipes sync on all my devices so I can see them anywhere especially while at the grocery store! I recently had an issue syncing w Pinterest and customer service was quick to respond w step by step directions how to fix the problem. Dan’s how to videos on all the newest features are really helpful to learn all that the app can do! I researched many recipe apps and am happy I found this one and have stayed with it to benefit from all the latest features it offers.

Great recipe program. I’ve used this program for a very long time. When they made an app for it, it was way beyond cool. It’s on my phone now. So when I go to the store, if something is on sale, it may trigger a recipe that I want to make. Now I can check my recipe on my phone and get everything I need for it without going home, check recipe on my computer and then go back to the store! It’s also very easy to send a copy of a recipe to a friend too. Love the app and the program! You can set up your cookbook, your own chapters and make your own notes on each recipe you enter. You can search the internet for recipes from this program also, and they can be sent to your cookbook too.

Lengthy delays for customer service. I was an original buyer of Cook'n many years ago. I have used it to save/update my recipes. In late 2020 when Apple made the big sur upgrade, the app continued to work but with one huge issue - it no longer displays all the hundreds of recipes I stored. I contacted tech support asking for a way to recover my recipes. Their reply was to upgrade to their cloud based subscription service version. I asked if that would not destroy my local database, and got no reply. I sent more emails, with no responses for close to 2 months. After filing several negative reviews the owner (Dan) contacted me. He said that they only had my original message and none of the responses, although all went to the same address. He said the new installation would work with my local files. I was able to get my recipes back. I should not have to file negative reviews to get a customer service reply. I like the app.

The One App I Use Almost Daily. I have been using Cookin since it was a program you bought on a disc and had to purchase the upgrade discs to install every year. I have thousands of recipes saved and am constantly adding new ones I come across from friends, on social media or by just browsing the internet. I love Cookin Cloud and the fact I have an auto backup of all my recipes should my laptop crash. By now I have all my mom’s family recipes safely saved. I really love being able to easily share a recipe with friends right in the moment with just a couple of clicks - it always amazes my friends to get my recipes text to them in seconds of us talking about them! As you can tell from my review, I am completely hooked on Cookin!

Love Cook’n. I love Cook’n! I like having on all my devices, desktop, Kindle Fire, iPhone. I always have my recipes with me. It is very convenient to have recipes when in the grocery store to refer to, when something is on sale and I can’t remember all the ingredients I can get all additional ingredients without having to return to the store to purchase that one forgotten ingredient. The ability to share recipes with others in a second wherever I am when asked for a recipe. When on vacation I have access to all my recipes via the cloud. I have made cookbooks for each of my children with their favorite recipes, when they move out I will give them their own cookbook. Whenever I have had an issue, the tech department has been very responsive in helping resolve the issue. I have had several since I am not very tech savvy! I am enjoying minimizing the paper clutter of recipes from magazines, food boxes, friends. I’ve just started to use the menu planner, love having a plan for the week, has saved a lot of time during the week deciding what to have. Still learning all the details of the menu and shopping list, but liking it. Super easy to capture recipes into your cookbooks from the internet. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful program!. I’ve had this program since the “dark ages” when it came on a CD. They were very helpful when I switched to a Mac and needed to know how to transfer all my information....or any other time I’ve had a question. It took a while in the beginning to enter all of my own recipes, but it was so worth it. I’m not sure what I would do without it. I pay a monthly fee so I can use the sync feature which I think is my favorite feature. We have a vacation home where we often spend weekends and it was always a pain to pull out recipe cards to take there and then re-file when we get home. I just pull out my iPad or phone to get a recipe! Or, if I’m in the grocery store and think of something I want to make but can’t remember the ingredients I just pull out my phone! I’m excited that my good friend recently got the app and we are now Cook’n friends so we can share recipes!

Cook’n ... the best!. This is THE best application for finding, saving and sharing recipes. I share recipes with my daughter and have access to her recipes. It is extremely easy to capture recipes to your cloud account from the internet. If you are, say at a doctor’s office, by just taking a photo, you can capture recipes from magazines and even your old handwritten recipes for safe keeping in the cloud. You can custom make and print your own cookbook and maybe give it as a present to your family and friends. A feature I just love... you can access your recipes anywhere and make sure you have all the ingredients you need to do the cook’n. Another great feature is how the software will analyze the nutritional value of your recipes which is great if you are watching your weight or are on a diet. It is worth the annual fee (I have the Standard Plan), and to top it all, they have wonderful service and support! I urge everyone who likes to cook or is interested in this type of software to give it a demo trial. You will love it, and, like me, will be hooked! I have never written a review before, but this is so good I could not let it go by without writing about it.

Greatest recipe app ever. I’ve been using the Cook’n software for over 20 years. In fact, when I started using it, the program came on a 5 1/4” floppy disk! I originally got it to help us keep track of favorite recipes to help with menu planning. But as the program evolved, so did the way we used it. We used to keep Food Network shows on our TV until we had time to go on the Internet and track down the recipes. Now, as we are watching the episodes, if we see a recipe we like, we jump on the Cook’n app and download it immediately! It is so much easier, and has resulted in us trying more of the recipes that we download. I also can’t say enough about their excellent customer support. Dan and the staff at Cook’n have been great to work with whenever I’ve had a question. Cook’n is a great app.

A very happy long-time user. I have used Cook’N from the very beginning from just a pc software with no app integration. They have grow tremendously over the years and always looking for ways to improve. Being able to captures recipes from the internet directly into Cook’N is wonderful! I have also gifted the software to relatives, including my mother who is not the most technically-savvy person and she loves it, too. Even though I like to be able to “call” technical support, DVO’s email support has never let me or my mother down. It’s nice being able to see my recipes while shopping last minute at the grocery store so I do not forget any ingredients. This is a great software/app and I do not hesitate to recommend Cook’N to anyone!

Fantastic cookbook!. I have used this cookbook and app for about 3 years now. I even made a family cookbook for my son. It is nice to be able to share the “family secrets” with him. If you ever have a question you can always write to them. They get back to you within a day. This is the best cookbook app ever! It is great to be able to check your recipes while you are at the grocery store too. You can access your cookbook from your computer, tablet and phone. You can even send a link to your family and friends. How can it get any better or more convenient than that. The monthly newsletter is very helpful in showing tips to get the most out of your cookbook. That shows they don’t sell you something and then forget you. Great company. You can get great ideas from seeing what other recipes others are searching for. Now you can save searched for recipes without having unorganized scrap pieces of paper all around. We have all done that for years. 😊 This is worth every penny. Good going Cook’n!

A Good Value. I’m fairly new to the Cook’n family, but have quickly become a big fan. I do have some experience with other recipe programs; none can compare. I haven’t thought of a thing that is missing from the Cook’n experience. The app is quick, very well thought out, and has excellent tutorials available. If you can think of it, you can find a way to do it with Cook’n. It is constantly updated and improved. Most importantly to me, recently, is their great support service. They didn’t stop trying until my tricky problem was solved. Sometimes, computer software just doesn’t play well together. The Cook’n elves detected my problem and got me back into business. I highly recommend Cook’n. —Nan of the South

Great program...in the past! Has recovered well!!!. I used this program for several years and loved it! I started with the 6th or 7th versions. This program was great even when you had to copy and paste to get the recipes added to your collection. I upgraded to this version (from version 10) thinking that the cloud would be great! I synced to the cloud and ALL of my recipes disappeared! I could not access my recipes from my iPad OR my computer! I backed-up my info and just restored it! How does this work?!! This is the worst! What happened to this product?!!! Update: I have recovered all my recipes except for one cookbook. (It was one I may not have used anyway!) The website help page got me back in track! This app has improved so much and helped me become a MUCH BETTER cook! Let’s just say that the hubby is happy!!! ;-)

Best recipe organizer!. Love, love, love this app and software. I’ve had this for many years and would not use anything else. The developers are always improving it and the support staff is very responsive. No overseas miscommunication, here. I love that it works over all my devices, so I can have my entire recipe collection with me at all times, whether I am at the super market, figuring out what to make for dinner or at a friends house, giving her my favorite recipe for banana bread. Very easy to capture and import recipes, scale existing recipes and organize all my cookbooks. My sister has it in Hawaii and we are alway’s sharing cookbooks back and forth. I like that I can view the shopping list “by recipe” though I use a separate grocery list app, because I have that listed by store. I do wish there was another way to organize chapters, besides tagging a recipe via “categories.” For instance, I have a “Chapter” for “Main Dishes” but I would love to organize that chapter into categories like meat, fish, chicken, etc. Still, I’ve looked at other apps over the years and this one is still the BEST! Thanks Dan and crew for continuing to improve this app, at a time when we need it most.

Great Company, Great Products. I started out using Cook’n a few years ago...toyed around with it mostly. I began using it heavily just a few months ago to make a cookbook for a group of friends, and one for my family. I really like the Cook’n Recipe Organizer (the desktop application) and the iOS app. They work seamlessly together. Importing my already typed up recipes is a snap with the Snip-it Quick Import Tool. The Snip-it tool also imports recipes from websites, including pictures and links. What a powerful, time saving suite of products! ❤️. Once imported, my recipes show up in my own personal cookbook webpage. What’s not to love? Customer Support has been excellent! I’ve had quite a few questions and each question/concern has been quickly and patiently addressed.

Great software. As an owner of a Bakery for 5 years one of the best gifts I ever received was Cook’n. My daughter surprised me at Christmas one year with an app to keep all my recipes in one place and to help me better organize. Little did I know what a gift this would be. It is so much more than storage! I am able to create cookbooks to include all the recipes I want to keep. I can scan them, imbed other recipes in them, move them to other cookbooks... I can also create cookbooks for my family that I can print or have professionally printed. I can capture recipes from the internet and direct them right into the cookbook I want. I use Cook’n almost daily for my Bakery and for whipping up dinner. I love that it shows me recipes I recently viewed, recipes recently added or most viewed recipes, but perhaps my favorite feature of all is the amazing tech support. Technology is not my strongest suit. No worries with this app—if I can’t figure it out there is a support page that has all the common questions and if that doesn’t help I can send an email and usually within 24 hours I have the answer I needed. Thanks Cook’n for creating such a useful tool for me.

Great program. Over the years I have used a few different recipe programs and each time I upgraded I brought all my recipes into the new program. I was always looking for better ways to scale recipes up or down, to automatically create shopping lists, and calculate nutritional content. Cook’n gives me the features I need to keep my recipes safe and now my kids want recipes of their childhood food memories. Cook’n allows me to do so either by printing to PDF or they can actually get Cook’n and I can share them electronically. Now, for health reasons, I have made a dietary change to eating whole food plant based with no added salt, oil, or sugar. I have a whole new world of recipes to create and explore and Cook’n is perfect for this project!

The Best Recipe Program. I’ve been using Cook’n for many years now. In fact, I used to purchase the Cook’n Software. I have found the Program is really easy to use and also to keep track of your own personal recipes. It allowed me to capture recipes off the internet when I found one I want to try. I really enjoy having it on my Computer, iPhone and iPad. It has made it so much easier in planning meals and in preparing meals. When my schedule was too busy, I was able to look a recipe up, so I knew what ingredients I was going to purchase when stopping at the store before going home. When I was away from home and someone asked me for the recipe for the dish that I made for that event, I was able to share it with them right then. I love receiving the free Cookbooks as well each month. When there has been any issues, they have been so supportive looking into the situation to get the problem resolved.

Cook’n Support. I’ve been using Cook’n for about 11 years now and find it is an excellent program for all your recipes. I have it installed on both my iMac and iPhone and it works great. What’s even more impressive is the support I get from the technical staff. By subscribing to either the premium or standard membership, whenever I have a problem, and like all electronics, problems do arise from time to time, - the assistance I get from the support group is excellent. Also, by subscribing, the program is always up to date - you get any new features automatically. The operation of the program is also very operator friendly. I love the Cook’n capture ability using the capture plugin attached to your browser when you want to copy an online recipe - it really makes it easy to get recipes. Also the ability to adjust recipes to fit the number of people you’re cooking for is a great function of the program. Overall, this is a program you will love if, like me, you enjoy cooking and you want to share recipes with others - the program makes it easy to email whatever you have with them. Great Investment!

Cook’n App The digital kitchen appliance you didn’t know you needed!. We have used this app on our phones, tablets, and computers for quite some time. We use it daily for meal planning and to save favorite recipes. Our “Friends” encompass not only family but close associates and all love the ease of searching for favorites as well as adding new recipes to share and try! We also easily share recipes by email or text messages. The attention to comparability is evident in the cross platform utility, (we are waiting for a better ‘Safari’ browser plug-in and “177 Milk Street” capture functionality 🤔). Milk Street embeds so much content that I imagine it is quite challenging to develop a means to capture. That being said it isn’t that difficult to manually copy and paste their recipes! One caveat, it takes some planning to embed a recipe into another. Once you get the hang of it you will find that you use that function often! We have also used this App for grocery lists as well as occasional meal planning. We often shop for bargains and then browse our personal recipes for suitable use. This App is a bargain. It is easy to use and we have collected many new favorites as well as preserved family recipes that would have been lost. We recommend it for all, even a casual use will have you relying on Cook’n! We have a dedicated ancient iPad that sits proudly in the kitchen ready to display today’s dinner.

My second time around.... This is my second time using Cook’n, let’s just say the first time wasn’t pretty. I am so glad to be able to recommend this app. They have really made some great additions to the software. A couple of features that I use and love are the easy capture feature that lets me pull recipes off of the Internet and get them into my cookbooks. Also great is the scan options that let you take a picture of a recipe that has been printed or even hand written and get it into your cookbooks with minimal effort. I struggled for a while trying to figure out how to sort recipes so they would be easy to find (I think I might have too many!). Using the Category option lets me sort and find recipes based on a number of options. Very helpful. So if you are looking for a cooking app, this is the ONE for you.

Thief’s and Liars. I bought this app years ago and used it to store several recipes. All was well for some time then I started getting bombed with requests to subscribe. I had no interest beyond how I was using the app so I ignored their requests. Last week I opened the app to add a new recipe and could not find ANY of my previous recipes. When I first tried to reach out to support I was told I could not get support unless I “joined” for a fee. I finally got an email out to them and they did reply. In the end, they told me my data was gone because I never upgraded and to go pound sand. If not for people first buying the app they would not be in business and this is how I get treated. So, I posted this note and I heard from the developer!! He was sincerely interested in helping me and making sure I was happy. Dan was a class act who cared. Cannot ask for much more from a developer.

Best Software for Recipes out there!!!. I have been a Cook’n user for many years even when you had to purchase the software for every major upgrade and I love this app. This app put it over the top in my opinion. Nothing out there is comparable. It is so helpful to be able to look up a recipe while I am at the grocery store so I can make sure I have all the ingredients before I get home. Since I always have my phone with me, it is easy to look up a recipe when a friend asks what the recipe was for a dish I brought to their house. Also it is helpful when planning get togethers with friends. We all sit around planning who will bring what as we scroll through our recipes on our phones. This is a great company with hard working employees that work tirelessly to keep this software very user friendly and up to date with the constantly changing iPhone operating system. If I ever have problems with it, I can check their frequently asked questions to see if the answer is there, If not, i can shoot off an email and usually receive an answer within 24 hours. I do not hesitate to recommend this software to my friends.

Excellent!!!. This app is GREAT!!!! When I first opened it I thought I liked it but the price scared me!!! (I found out later it is free!)BUT after PM the creator of the program I was TOTALLY impressed and amazed!!! I started using it and ran into problems!! He personally helped me out and got me moving forward again!!! My daughters are away from home right now and they PM me and tell me which recipe to put on next because they want that recipe!!!! We have been searching for such a program and so glad we found Cook’n. I love the videos. It is so easy to add recipes to my cookbook. The only complaint I heard was that my DIL said that if she used this app she would never be calling me for a recipe!!! Thanks again for the good job!!! Thanks THANKS THANKS!!!!! For the great job!!!!

Crashes constantly.. I downloaded this app because I wanted to test it out before paying $80 for the mac program to go with it. Unfortunately it was too good to be true and the app closes every few seconds. Could have been great.

Keeps crashing. Last update keeps causing the app to crash. Can't even get as far as opening the app before it crashes.

Awesome!!!!!!. It’s a amazing app and is an easy way to get recipes without searching up “Vanilla cupcakes 🧁 with vanilla buttercream frosting”. Just an amazing app for people who love 💕 to bake. GET IT!!!!!!! Jess

So much potential. I would love to give this app a great recommendation as it has everything I would like in a recipe app. But it crashes so much just on opening let alone when trying to enter a recipe or sync. Lots of problems with the app which means I really don't want to fork out $80 for the computer software. Sorry - needs some work.

Cook'n. Best recipe app ever.

Glitchy. Disappointed by the frequency of crashing. I have paid for full software but can barely use it as it crashes almost immediately on iPhone, iPad and PC.

Great App. After some troublesome years these people have finally got it together. Would recommend highly now. Keep up the good work.

Greatest recipe app. I LOVE Cook’n, it’s amazing to use across desktop, iPhone & iPad. I can make a shopping list anytime anywhere & use my recipes easily in holiday too. The Menu option is cert handy. It’s sooo easy to capture recipes from the internet, my old ones & even from my grandmothers books. The Cook’n support team are amazing too, always there to help out with any query. 🥰

Best cooking app ever. Love the features. Just would be great if you could automatically generate shopping lists from recipes. Perhaps something for the future. Di

Best ever!. I’ve been using this app on my phone and on my pc and tablet for years, and is the best thing out there to manage your recipes, and find many new ones. You can even share them with friends and family. If you become a premium member, the technical support is outstanding - they do whatever it takes to fix any issue you might have, but those are few and far between. Don’t hesitate!

Pinterest won’t work. I am getting a little frustrated because it won’t work to link up my Pinterest to the app...every time I try it does not give me enough time to sign into my Pinterest it just keeps redirecting me to the app....it is getting soo annoying

Advertisements!. Great update if you don’t like convenience, but love watching ads! Ruined this app!

Curried chicken insta pot. Easy cooking for 4 people

Best app..EVER. We have tried several recipe keeper apps but they were not user friendly and my husband has no patience when it comes to learning curves. This app is SO user friendly, even he is not cursing when using it. It imports recipes seamlessly from the internet with the tap of a button or two. The little phrases that pop up are very amusing and give me a chuckle. Support from the developer is very quick and helpful. I am more then happy to pay the fee with this app. It is worth every dollar to keep our recipes organized and no more looking for “that piece of paper”! Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Does not work properly. When trying to log on to my iPad it tells me a sync is in progress. Won't let me do anything. I tried different things on my laptop and then iPad and nothing helps. Lots of bugs to work out. Also keeps shutting down on me

Great app so far. Still learning it, the more I use it, the more I love it!

Crooks. Need to send money if your data gets lost unless using pic version. Just not honest

Excellent app. I have used Cook’n for several years to store my recipes and to search out new ones. I am very satisfied with this app. I have it on my computer and sync it to my iPad for easy use when requiring a recipe in the kitchen. Any time I have had to contact customer support, I have found them very helpful and easy to deal with. There is a free version but that version has no technical support nor are you able to sync to other devices. I pay $4.95 monthly and are able to use all the functionality of the app; capturing new recipes, software updates and syncing to iPad.

Doesn't work. I imported two recipes and created two chapters and it crashed and won't open at all.

Sweet app. Great app.

Why the hate?. I can’t understand the negative reviews. I have had the desktop app for almost 20 years, so was happy to get this app for my iPad. I can sync all my recipes between the two which makes it easy to take the recipe to the kitchen or create a grocery list to take to the store. I love the ability to capture recipes from a website and save them. The technical support has been great for the odd occasion I’ve had to use them. Yes, you have to pay a monthly fee to get the full benefit but there are some payment options. My only complaint is that they are constantly adding new features and making it better that I have a hard time keeping up with the changes.

Lorna T. Love it

Great App. Love Cook’n and love the app. Have been using the program now for a very long time. Always improving. Just keeps getting better.

Good. A good way to keep track of all your recipes and than some. I use this app to clear out all my recipe books that I only like a few recipes from. Love it! With the free app I can scan up to 5 recipes a day, which is all I need.

Cook'n. I'm just new to this app, but so far I love it!!

Love this app. Easy to use, easy to find recipes to try, easy to save, can't say enough positives. Use it daily.

Cook’n. I love this app. It’s very easy to use and capture recipes and organize cookbooks electronically. And their tech support is awesome. I’m not “techy” but in the 5 or so years that I’ve had cook’n they have always worked out any bugs that I had encountered. I highly recommend it.

Seriously disparaging.... I loved using this app, but I now need a cloud account. I hate cloud accounts. I don't want a cloud account. I paid for 10 copies of this app for my family and now I can't use this mobile app because I need a stupid "I own your soul" cloud account. Leave me alone! I'll decide if I want a cloud account. If I can't use this app without a cloud account, I want my money back! You get one undeserved star because I can't leave this review with anything less.

A really useful app. I needed to clear out shelf space in the kitchen that was taken up by cookbooks and file boxes that I rarely used. Cook’n allowed me to scan 1600 recipes and convert them to a standard format. I was amazed how well it worked even with hand-written file cards. It’s not perfect, and you have to make some corrections by hand, but it makes the whole process fast enough to be worth it. And now I can search those recipes by name, by ingredients, or even by which cookbook I took them from. And after cooking something, I can immediately change the recipe to make changes. I use Cook’n all the time now.

Cook’n App. I have used a number of different apps to collect and source recipes that I copy from various on-line sites together with recipes that I create myself. It is desirable to have these recipes categorized by me so I can access them readily, all in one place each with their beautiful photos of the prepared recipe. It is also important to me that I can alter recipes by changing the ingredient list when I adjust the number of servings, and with a shopping list ready to sync from my IPad to my mobile phone. This App has the flexibility to meet all my needs and the final text, when captured, is of such high quality and really well formatted that I could compile my own cookbooks printer worthy. I rate this App with five stars and I use it daily.

Cremeschnitten Austria. Excellent program, excellent dish

Works great but now will need subscription. This is a good companion to the desktop app but a recent email from DVO stated that as of 5/2016 you will need a $14.95 monthly subscription to be able to use their cloud syncing service. Plus some components of the desktop app, which cost $79.95 have been crippled unless you subscribe. Too bad, I would avoid. Also there is nothing at the App Store indicating the hidden cost. Should be listed as In App purchase.

Crap App. Don't waste your time downloading this. It just doesn't work. Will not sync with the cloud account. I've spent a long time trying to get this working and have now given up. Not sure why it was released before they got all the bugs figured out. Uninstalling immediately.

Cook'n. The app keeps closing within 1-3 minutes an once it's closes won't open for more than a second

Cookn. Excellent app works great every time!

Love the flexibility. My Dad got this for me initially, and I've used it for a year now. I love that I can search recipes in the app, download stuff from the internet into a cookbook (rather than copy/paste into a Word doc for printing), and use my tablet as my cookbook. The app isn't without a few quirks, and I have had to contact support, however their support team is excellent, and got me through the issues in no time!

Upload screenshots. Can you please make an update where we can upload screeenshots of recipes??? Please??? I often take photos of recipes from magazines or newspapers or have someone send me a screen shot of a tried and true family recipe. I have so many in my phone’s photo album I’d love to be able to use Cook’n as my only go-to when trying to find recipes. Thanks a lot. Other than that the app is great!

Helps with organization. I really like this app. It helps me be organized. I haven't used it to its full potential at all, but I'm getting there. I really like the relatively new feature of scanning a recipe from a photo. It's super easy and fast. And, it's made by a company that cares!

Ontario Canada. Great App for collecting recipes and organizing them also taking them with you on your mobile device with in app shopping list. So convenient.Love it. Support has been so helpful on numerous occasions plus friendly prompt response.

Best recipes software out there!. I have been using Cooking for over 10 years. This family run business has come a long way in this time. I love all of the new capture abilities and the cloud service tops the cake! I have my recipes where ever I am... phone, IPad and computer. Couldn’t be happier!

Really bad idea. Loaded the app, could not get any of my recipes over to the Ipad, although I have a cook'n cloud account, unless you buy a membership you can use the app or the software... Stay away from this software there are other that are more user and less money hunger....

Best recipe app!. I absolutely love Cook’n. We use it almost every day. Our kids know how to find the recipes that they love with the search options, and by using the star ratings we are able to remember our favourite recipes. The team at Cook’n is quick to respond and help fix any little glitches that might happen, and they are continually making improvements to the program and app to make our cooking experiences easier and more fun. Thanks Cook’n keep it up!

Best App. I now have an organized place for my favourite dishes I’ve been using for a few years now. Absolutely love it. With the new update the other day I can’t access the app any more. 😢. My iPad is around 8 years old. But everything else is still working just fine

Great cooking app!. I’ve been using this app for years and love it. I have such a huge recipe library now, I feel guilty.......almost!

Cook’n app. I really like the Cook’n app. It’s genious. What I don’t like so much are all the pop up’s and all the adds

This app won't work unless you sign up for Cloud. DON'T DOWN LOAD UNLESS YOU SIGN UP FOR THERE CLOUD SERVICE THIS APP WILL NOT WORK! UPDTE: As far as the cook'n program not working without the cloud! Dan from DVO helped what happened was that the last update caused virus program not let cook'n run Thank You Dan I have been a Cook'n customer since 80's and was a big fan and put up with all the problems while they were developing their cloud losing recipes and only aggravation that went with up until they extorting and forcing you to sign up for their cloud and that was the only way I could get my recipes back and what makes it worse when I purchased my first program from them I was supposed to get lifetime support and now that they have the cloud and now the only way I can get support is if I sign up for The cloud I text them for support over a year ago and I am still waiting and I did get a reply that they will support me but they're going to take care of their paying customers first even though I bought the latest version of Cook'n and been a customer since Version 5.5

So glad I found this!. I love to cook and at my age grew up getting my recipes from magazines like bon appétit, gourmet, or from cookbooks you need to purchase. Fast forward 20 years and the Internet is maybe the best thing that ever happened toAmateur cooks allowing people to share recipes from their family collection as well as those acquired throughout their life. This app is the perfect tool to leverage the advantages in recipes sharing the Internet has provided . It doesn’t get any simpler to find and capture recipes. But beyond finding random recipes on the Internet but I’m really enjoy is reading, tips and commentary from other amateur cooks.

Love my Cook’n. I’ve been using the PC version for a long time, and began using the app on my iPad/iPhone as soon as it came out. Everything syncs on all my devices, which is important to me. I have printed my cookbooks and if I want I can use the books or my iPad. If you need it, support is excellent, and has been since I began using Cook’n. My latest project is to put my mother’s recipes in a cookbook. It is time consuming but will be worth it for our family, as she was a wonderful cook who had the best recipes. As you can read, I really do love my Cook’n!

Couldn’t Be Without It!. I love Cook’n! So many features to love! One of my favorite is how portable it is. No matter where I am I can pull up a recipe and see what ingredients I need to make it! Often I will double check the ingredients just to make sure I have all of them while I am shopping. So handy if I forget my shopping list! Another feature I enjoy is how easy it is to share a recipe. This is so such a wonderful feature! I have a friend that often asks for my recipes and I can share them with the click of a button! I use this often because I live several hours from family and friends. So many other features with Cook’n! Best software available!

scam. I bought this software for my PC many years ago. Was excited to see there was an app for it. I opened the app and it asked me to register, so I did. What they wanted me to register for, without explaining it, was a paid for service that costs $5-$15 PER MONTH. Now they have my email address, the better to spam me with. You should have been upfront about what you were asking me to sign up for. Honest businesses don't have to mislead people into giving their personal information for something they never asked for or wanted. I'm not confused. Other apps are upfront about selling extra services. They don't wait until AFTER getting your personal information to tell you there will be additional fees beyond what you've already paid. And they don't continue to email you after you've asked to be removed from their email adverts. Have you noticed how many complaints there are and how much explaining and blaming the developer feels compelled to do instead of being clear, direct, and honest upfront and treating people (especially paying customers) right? Also, marking their spam as spam works when they ignore your multiple requests to be left alone. Thank you gmail.

The premiere cookbook software and support. I have been using Cook’n for several years. It was an excellent piece of software and it has just gotten better and better. The owner of DVO, Dan Oaks is involved with the implementation of additional functions. The support of the application is second to none. Most times if it isn’t a holiday or weekend the support will get back to you the same day. They are knowledgeable and easy to work with. Sometimes the owner, Dan Oaks, answers your questions. This is an experience you will not find anywhere else. The functionality of the software is endless.

Been gathering recipes in Cook’n for over 30 years. I bought Cook’n when it first was debuted and converted all my recipes from MasterCook. Was a chore back then to type in some of the recipes, then be able to find them. Since those early days, DVO has updated and improved the software. It’s now easy to spot a recipe in a magazine and find it using the search engine in Cook’n and save it along with its picture. Recently, I bought a new computer and had issues with Cook’n not opening on my desktop. Their technical support department receives a score of 100+ for responding via email until we got the issue resolved. I use Cook’n on my MacBook, my iPad, and iPhone and all my recipes and meal plans sync amongst all the devices. Now, with coordination with Alexa, I can view and hear my recipes on my Echo Show in the kitchen. Echo will read the ingredients and pause so I can gather items from the pantry or fridge, the proceed to cook. I can’t praise this app and DVO Enterprises enough. Be sure to get a Membership Plan, premium, if you can. Free tech support is really cool.

Awesome software, GET IT NOW!!!. I have been using this software for many years now and on multiple devices (PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone) and it is awesome! I cannot imagine not having it and using it to organize all my magazine and online recipes! I will say it doesn’t replace the personal family recipe binders I still have and always will have and cherish with my mother’s, aunts and grandparents handwriting! Or the ones I will leave to my children with my own handwriting but to be able to access a lot is newer recipes form any device and share so easily with friends and family. And to be able to access quickly while at the grocery. Their customer service is very prompt and fantastic! I HIGHLY recommend!!!

Love/hate relationship. I love this software, I have used it for many years! When it works well, wow, how much fun! When it doesn't, I want to pull out my hair. I don't know why it messes up, maybe it has been my computers, I have been through a bunch😖 I have managed to make this software do crazy things over the years, the technicians usually get me straightened out, they are real patient. I have an app on my phone and on my I pad. They mess up occasionally, I re download the app and I am good to go. I would love to get the software on something other than a computer. I don't use mine for anything but Cook'n, it is old and I don't want to buy a new one.

Wonderful company and product. I’ve used Cook’n for several years now and it’s worth every penny of the subscription price. I’ve been able to scan old paper recipes, ones from friends and ones from the Internet seamlessly into my cookbook. The developers have done a great job in creating new features that make the product much more user friendly and powerful. But what I like most is that whenever I’ve had a problem, they have responded quickly. They have even logged into my desktop when I had a database issue. That kind of support is almost priceless. They are a dedicated team!

Game changer for cooking. I’ve been using this software since 2010 when it was only computer software. I now have thousands of recipes stored in the program and use a combination of the ipad and iphone apps and mac computer software. It is fantastic to always have all of my recipes literally at my fingertips. When a friend asks for a recipe, I just have to pull out my phone to share it with them. Fantastic app, dedicated customer service if you run into issues and a company with a long track record of success. Thank you for all of the hard work to keep our recipes safe, secure and accessable everywhere!

Excellent cooking software with exceptional support team. I have had this program for years and I cannot imagine being without it. There are always new improvement and updates. Anytime I have a problem the support team is very responsive and immediately helps with my trouble! Never received this much assistance from any other company. If you love to cook and have recipes you want to keep or even print your own cook book to pass on to your children or family members this is the software for you! I don’t think there is a better program available on the market right now. Try it for yourself!!

Love this app!. I was looking for a place to keep my recipes and easily adjust the portions/servings. This app is amazing! Easily import recipes from the internet that you find and like, enter your own recipes, print them, share them, even scan recipe cards to enter. As a new user, I know I haven’t completely experienced everything this app can do yet and am loving the learning process. The other thing I absolutely love is the app keeps the recipe open and active on my phone or tablet instead of it going to sleep every few minutes. Love it!

Great app for storing your recipes and printing them. I have used the Cook’n app since it was first launched years ago. They have improved so much over the years and continue to do so by always updating their program, adding new features, finding ways to make it easier to add new recipes, making the program user friendly, and constantly striving to better their program. Their support team is always prompt, helpful and follow up with you to make sure everything is working as it should be. They have great customer service. They are always there to assist you.

Love this software!. I’ve used this recipe organizer for years and love it! I can keep an online version, accessible by Alexa when I’m using a recipe in the kitchen; print a cookbook for me or recipe cards for gifts; and share all my latest and greatest finds with friends and family. Even having an online cookbook to share is great fun, especially when I’ve tried a new recipe and people want a copy of it. Capturing a recipe from a website is also easy. Most of the time a recipe’s information is accurately captured, with only a few modifications needed. It’s a great tool for me to use in the kitchen!!

Even the free app is AMAZING. I downloaded this free version based on description alone. I can scan my own recipes (with very little correction), download recipes from internet & more. Easy to upload your own photos, share with friends (even if they don’t have app installed) & it has a great Search function. I can’t think of much this app won’t do that people would want. I wish I’d found it years ago! I’ve received no compensation or discounts to write this review. I just love the app enough to take the time.

Sensational app. I have never been the cook in our house. Unfortunately I found myself in that position and was frantically searching for something besides spaghetti, burgers and takeout. Not only have I found and created some awesome dishes, but this app is so easy! Dan, the creator, posts videos explaining how to use the different aspects of the app. And it’s like he’s sitting in the chair next to me. He is easy to understand, and truly excited about his product. I captured a dish yesterday, saved it to the cloud and looked at it in my recipe book in 30 sec flat. Can’t say enough good things about Cook’n!

Worst ongoing experience with this app.. I have worked with this recipe app for many years, at least six. Anytime we experienced a problem with it we would try to contact the company. It takes days often weeks before they respond and are almost always unwilling or unable to help. They always ask for more money in order to keep the app running so I could access my recipes. This latest act on their behalf is definitely unexpected and my last straw with them. They totally deleted my recipe Book and every recipe I have saved. They never gave us any warning verbal or written, and when we were finally able to get them to respond to our inquiry, they refuse to put my recipes somewhere where I can access them unless I pay more money. This app is the greatest scam I have ever experienced in an app. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this one like the plague!

The best program I’ve used in 20 years. I have more than 20 years experience using different cookbook software. This is the most advanced and best program. I have it on my iPad, phone, and Mac. It is absolutely wonderful to have every recipe you save in your pocket. It is super easy to save any online recipe and now even to scan in your clipped ones. Also quick and easy to share that recipe when asked for it. Take your phone out of your pocket and email it on the spot. Don’t waste time hunting for that recipe. Just do a search. There are many great features. Finally, tech support has been great too. I really love this program and app.

Cook’n is awesome software and support!. I have used Cook’n now for several years, and am actually on our third family cookbook. I can tell that you can always expect new features on a steady basis. The integration with the internet sites keeps getting better, as do the features to add photos, print and publish electronically. One final thing that is critically important is support. The reality is that our devices keep changing as do the software that runs them. It is inevitable that there will be compatibility issues as this happens. Over several years now, the Cook’n team has consistently developed solutions and effectively communicated them - importantly - in a timely manner. Love the software and the team!

Love’N Cook’N. I’ve been using Cook’N for over 10 years - the days of buying the software to load in my PC - and love it! Being able to carry all me recipes wherever I go makes it easy to fix something when we’re camping (uh, I mean glamping) and being able to share recipes with a couple clicks or taps is a wonderful convenience. The few times I’ve needed tech support, reps are quick to respond to requests, and reply with easy to understand instructions to fix whatever problem I may have. Thanks for such a great app!

Hallelujah!. This is the app I’ve been on the search for for what seems like FOREVER! There’s few things more annoying that scrolling & scrolling past all the blog info and pop up ads of a great recipe page on Pinterest just to finally get to the recipe card and have it disappear or scroll away from yet another ad. SO nice to be able to see those beloved recipes put into a simple, old school looking recipe index card format, but still digital and shareable. I love that it syncs up well with grocery list planning. So practical and SO useful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Only recipe database I ever use. Greatest thing ever. I capture all my recipes here. The best part is that as long as my phone is with me so are my recipes. I love scaling recipes so quickly to increase or decrease the ingredients based on the serving size. And it does it so quickly! The internet search and capture feature is fantastic. I’ve been using this database for years and am increasingly impressed with how dvo works to keep things working smoothly and efficiently. I can’t imagine being in the grocery store and encountering a glitch that would interfere with my shopping for a special meal. Never happened. It’s always there when I need it. I can’t imagine EVER using another recipe database.

Best Cookbook Ever. I am a long time user of Cook’n and it has always been my favorite app. Every time a new feature comes out I continue to be excited and impressed. I would give up every cookbook I own rather than let go of Cook’n! I have even set up set up other “cookbooks.” One example is a book of recipes for my homemade cleaning supplies. As I have gotten older, my cooking has changed, and I have set up new cookbooks with recipes reflective of our eating habits. I am so thankful that years ago I saw the Cook’n software on a shelf in a big box store, and it sounded like just what I was looking for. Who knew it would become my favorite computer program.

Cook’n made are move doable!. All my cookbooks had been packed to declutter the home for sale. Most of the pantry goods were in boxes too. Dinner must go on. I pull out my iPad and open my Cook’n - type in the few things I had to use for dinner and TaDa....25 recipes appeared some of which I knew were family loved. This continued on after the move. No computer yet, who knew when the kitchen food containers were coming (they were a week late). My Cook’n on my iPhone had my recipes & ingredients I needed and we didn’t have to eat out continually. While in all this turmoil, I found THE BEST RECIPE I had to remember. No worries- Cook’n organized it so I could try it when I recouped from the move! Thanks Cook’n designers you made the last month bearable!

Long time user. I have been a user of Cook’n for quite a long time. I am now a subscriber and love the app. I especially love the updated “capture” of recipes from the web. The constant updates have made it so easy to use and most importantly accurate. I have had several opportunities to contact support. Most recently due to compatibility issues with the latest MAC OS. Each time my issues were addressed promptly, and most importantly completely solved the issue. I will be a long time subscriber.

Love this app. I love keeping all my recipes organized and easy to access. I took all those scraps of paper with recipes from friends at work and they are now all in my cookbook and can see them on my computer or phone. I am always getting recipes from social media, also. Any time I have needed support, they respond in a timely manner and are very helpful. The only thing I have a problem with are the instructional videos. You go through the steps so quickly I get confused. I guess I do better with written instructions.

I really love this recipe organizer!. I’ve been using various versions of Cook’n for many years, and currently use the iPad version most of the time. I have never found a better or easier way to organize and retrieve recipes than with Cook’n. And by using my iPad, I can simply set it up in the kitchen to see my recipes and don’t even need to print them out. I have a separate “cookbook” for My Favorites, which makes searching for them so simple. And the Internet Recipe Search and the Capture feature are fabulous! So easy and very little typing.

Update. First, my apologies to the developers for my first review. It was my misunderstanding of an email that led to the bad review. Now the update: This app ROCKS! Pinterest is great for finding and saving recipes; actually using the recipes, however, is tedious. Cook’n will auto import the recipes and sort them into books. I’m 64 years old and never liked to cook until I received an Instant Pot for Christmas and a Mealthy CrispLid for my birthday. Cook’n will let me make full use of my new toys. Heads up: You will receive an email that your trial version is about to expire and will offer you a subscription. Don’t freak out like I did. You can still use a LOT of the features without the subscription. Again, my apologies for my initial review.

Just what I was looking for!. If you literally just want a digital cookbook for every recipe you’ve ever liked or want to try WITHOUT having the “premium” version dangling over your head just to even USE the app this is THE ONE! It’s so easy and convenient to use no bull crap AND you can capture recipes from the web AND those recipes you’ve written down and stowed away at the touch of a button! I want to give a huge thank you to the developers of this app for being so thoughtful in every function of this app for people who literally use it every day and making this busy moms life so much easier and more organized!

Excellent app. I’ve been using this software for a long time. I tried several others and this one by far is the best I’ve used. A great feature is having this in the cloud. This allows my recipes to be accessible from anywhere using any device. May not sound like a big deal but trust me, it is. One thing I’m really hoping they do is make the app running on iOS just as functional as it is running on my laptop. For example, menu support doesn’t exist on an iPad, but I understand they are working on it. Most people will use their iPad in the kitchen so to me that should be the most functional version.

Great recipe organizer and more!. I’ve been using Cook’n for many years now. They continue to make improvements and are always available to assist with any problems you might have. I LOVE the fact that I have my recipes with me on mobile devices wherever I am. So handy to access at the store or when visiting family. Automatically syncs up across all devices when recipes are added or edited. So easy to download recipes from internet sites making adding your favorite new recipes to your files. Great value!!

I love Cook’n!. I have tried many recipe organizers over the years. I am 70 years old and have accumulated so many recipes. All programs I have tried accomplished some of what I needed but not all. Many were clunky or just too simple. Cook’n has answered all my needs and more. The organizational elements are fabulous. The recipe capture element has been invaluable. Customer service (the few times I had a problem or question) is responsive and extremely helpful. I can’t recommend this program enough.

Buyer Beware. After subscribing to this app and using it for several months, I decided the cost for this convenience exceeded its utility. I had no intention of renewing the subscription. However without notification, the subscription renewed on March 8, 2022, and a charge appeared on my credit card. I caught the charge on the 11th of March and notified Cookin that I no longer wished to subscribe or use the app and to please refund the subscription price. To make a long story short, Cookin stated that I was three days over their cancellation timeframe so no dice. I called them today and got a recording that told me to leave a message (which I did) and went on to instruct me that if my call was about my Cookin subscription, to go to the website (??). After these exchanges, I found a recipe organizing app that performs as well for a one-time purchase of $7.99.

Get cook'n with Cook'n. I have used this recipe program for a number of years and truly think it's great. I have hundreds of recipes saved and organized. I can add recipes that I find by capturing them from the internet. I can add comments and rate them too. It has a menu planning option that I like to use for Christmas or bridal/baby showers or other special events. I can easily share recipes too. Recently I could not access the internet through the program and after a couple of emails with the support team my issue was resolved. It is great to have that support as well.

Tech Support. I was having a hard time re-downloading Cook’n after some of my data got corrupted. I contacted tech support late in the afternoon and it said it would be up to 24 hours before they contacted me. To my surprise I had received a response within two hours. I was very pleased with the quick response and the answer I received to fixing the problem. I particularly appreciated that my attention was drawn to one of the steps. I am confident that if it hadn’t been drawn to that step I would have overlooked it and it was the answer to the problem. Way to go cook’n tech-support team!

Love Cook’n!. I have been using this program since it was in its infantsy! It has evolved to suit the ever changing internet and software work in which we live! I have my recipe database at my fingertips (on my phone) while out and about, but also have it on my tablet, in my kitchen, and on my laptop. All synchronized! I easily capture recipes that I want to try, make them, then move them to my permanent category if they turned out good and even edit or make comments about changes I intend to make the next time!

Great app for saving and sharing recipes. I've been using Cook'n app for over 15 years and I have hundreds of my own recipes typed into it. I love the phone app! I can create my shopping lists and have them right with me on my phone. No more forgetting my list at home and overbuying at the grocery, or getting home and realizing I forgot to buy a key ingredient. Great for getting your meals and shopping organized! One addition I'd love to see is the ability to create menus on the app. Or to at least be able to see the recipes I've created on my laptop.

Best Customer Support Ever. I agree 100% with the review given by “A Trustworthy Company and App”, but not only is Cook’n an awesome program but it has the best customer support ever!!! I recently decided to purchase the app and had some issues with getting it to work. I contacted their customer support department and quickly heard back from Haydon, one of their technical support people. Haydon worked with me to resolve the problem and made me feel comfortable in knowing that if I had any more problems, he would be there to help. I think a company is only as good as their customer service and Cook’n ranks with the best!!!And try using the app - you won’t be sorry!!!

Dave B. My wife and I have been the Cook’n recipe app across all of our apple devices. ie: MacBook, iPads, and Mac PC. We recently update our MacBook to the new Catalina iOS and found that the app no longer worked. I sent an email off to DVO support and had a reply the next day with the solution to get the App running again on the MacBook. We really like this recipe app and how it keeps all our devices in sync over the cloud. We would highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a great way to keep all your recipes in an electronic form, that is easily shareable with friends and family.

Wish it wasn’t subscription. Sounds like Great features, except it won’t download to my desktop, you have to be a paying member to get support? I don’t do subscriptions anyway, so I guess it wouldn’t make sense to do the trial. I don’t mind paying, but not constantly.. end up paying thousands of dollars for my own recipes? Nahhh Update: crickets? I didn’t see a need to reply, I’m not sure how other apps are succeeding on a one time fee where you cannot or choose not to, but they are, and that’s where I went. AND I need something that will work on the computer as well. Cook’n will not unless ( the computer says) you update the software. So a monthly fee ( free if I don’t want the features I’m looking for) and it doesn’t work on one of the main devices I use while I cook. What are you missing? Not sure, seems like everything.

I love this app!. This is a wonderful cookbook app to easily store all your recipes, ones that are your favorites and ones that you would like to try. I’ve been using this cookbook program before they were an app and the app for years and anytime I’ve had any kind of issue it has been resolved to my favor without stress. Family and friends love that I can send them the recipe that I brought to the event on the spot from my phone. So many features that I couldn’t possibly put them all in my review. FYI...I’m not one to leave a review good or bad. You’ve got to give this app a try.

Cautious cooker. I have been using this incredible app for a little over a year now. Occasionally, I am asked to write a review. However, I have been cautious because I was not sure how reliable or consistent or beneficial this app would be to me. The time has come now to pluck down my five stars for an amazing application that has made my work at home cooking for family a delightful experience. Not only that but the support service I have been given by this application company Technologists has been awesome. Thank you all for providing me with so many options to cook so many delightful meals.

Awesome Recipe Software!. I have used the Cook’n recipe software for many years now. I absolutely love that I can easily capture and store any recipe, have them all in one place and easily access them on my mobile phone! It is so awesome to have all your recipes right at your fingertips while cooking as well as at the grocery store to obtain ingredients. They are often adding new features to make it more functional and easy to navigate. Thorough instructions are provided online, and tech-support is readily available. If you desire complete recipe organization and accessibility, I highly recommend the Cook’n app!

Great program. Absolutely love Cook’n! The new updates, especially capturing recipes from the internet is fantastic. Program is easy to use and your recipes are organized well. Had a problem with an update on my desktop computer and the Cook’n staff kept trying to figure out the problem and I only have a basic membership. Matthew stuck by me through email until the problem was solved. The problem was actually my internet and not Cook’n. Even though I use the computer with Cook’n my primary use is through the iPad. It is my personal cookbook. I also have Mastercook and they do not even compare. Cook’n is a far better program for the iPad then Mastercook.

ONLY GET IF YOURE NOT GOING TO SWITCH DEVICES EVER OR WANT TO PAY. I’ve had this app for a while using the free version and really liked it. However when I got a new phone I found that I couldn’t log in because it was on my old phone and I wasn’t paying so no more than one device. So I deleted it off of the old phone but no dice. It doesn’t work on the new one. I tried to re download and log back in on my old phone so I could get my recipes off of it and use them elsewhere but it won’t let me log in there anymore either. And no customer support unless you’re paying $100 a year? Not even for the ones paying $50? That’s why I’m commenting here, hoping to get a response. I just want to access my recipes so I can put them somewhere else.

Love this app!. Love this app! I’ve used this app for years and recently had a problem after an update, but customer service was excellent! They responded within 24 hours and had me try a couple different things to get it running perfectly. I’m so grateful they are always here for me! I especially like how I can email a recipe to someone. It’s so easy to store your favorite recipes and use them. It’s on my phone, so if I go grocery shopping and forget what I need, I just open the app and view the recipe. If you are undecided about this app...don’t be. You’ll be very happy with it!

Fantastic!. I love all this app can do! I’m so excited that I won’t have to deal with a cabinet full of miscellaneous recipes. It does get “tired” after putting in a bunch of my own recipes and acts funny, but I haven’t had any real problems with the app. I’m so grateful for this fantastic app! Edit: I have this application on my iOS devise. The app becomes a bit discombobulated after I use the scan recipe option more than a couple of times without letting it rest. By this, I mean that is starts scrambling up the sentences and lines of ingredients if the scan recipe option is used a few times consecutively.

Five stars and more. I have used this program practically since it came out. It only gets better. My life goal has always been to write a cookbook for my two sons. First attempt ended up with the pc I had at the time fried the hard drive. Luckily, I had kept all my recipes. Time marches on. Updates were waaay out of date. The Customer Service (Marisa) team got right on this to help me. I’m even able to save my Pinterest recipes. If your dreams are to write your own cookbook, look no further than this app. You’ll never regret it. Cheryl Groseclose

Reliable Company and App. I have used Cook’n for many years. I needed a place to store my mother’s family recipes and Cook’n most certainly was the program for me. I am what I call computer illiterate. I have not taken advantage of the many functions available on Cook’n. Takes me a while to catch things. Whenever I have had a question or problem with Cook’n the folks at Cook’n have been most helpful. When it has continued over several days to get things straightened out the technical support was great and continued to communicate with me. It has been the same person which has made me feel that I was communicating with someone who knew and understood my problem. Thanks Cook’n.
