Cannot Check-in Online. Currently in a long line with other folks who all cannot check-in online using the new Volaris App. Interestingly, before the update… I was able to check-in online. Now it no longer functions. And there is no option to check-in on a browser — it simply directs you to the non-functioning app 🙃

Checked bag prices. Have you all seen the prices for the checked bags? They are ridiculous and cost more that the actual ticket. I’ve always used volaris to travel to Mexico, but never again. I’ll find another way to get there. Time to try a different airline.

Cannot check in. Old app forces you to use new app. The new app doesn’t allow manual entry during a check in. It forces you to take a picture with your phone but it cannot scan the codes. The website forces you to the app to check in. None of it works.

Constan Updates and unavailability to download. This application after their 2.0 update, it required another update. It was available 18 hours after release and it cannot be downloaded. Tried multiple times at different hours and it is just spinning. The checking and boarding pass are through an app, but that cannot be accomplished. Very frustrating that there is no other way besides be on the phone. Terrible!

Couldn’t check in. The app will not scan passports without erroring out … and does not let you manually input the information! Finally will error and state that due to inability to scan you must check in at airport. Not a problem as long as I am pre confirmed so that we have seats! I am attempting to check in on line however so far the website is stating that to continue to checkin it must be done by app!

Horrible Update. The old version was great- it had been refined until booking was smooth and easy and enjoyable. This new version is glitching constantly. I can’t even get it to let me book on certain dates, even though it shows flights available. Please fix this—I fly Volaris multiple times each month, both within Mexico and internationally, and this is a nightmare.

Not happy. This is confusing, the old app made me get this “new app” and now I can’t even use either . How is this “new app “ better the original one??? Now I can’t even do the check in for my flight. Another reason to not use Volaris. Keep things simple.

Worst App Update. This honestly made the most simple process more difficult for no reason. I am unable to edit when the scan incorrectly inputs my passport data. I subject to tax that the airport was unaware of and advised to not pay that VOLARIS was attempting to SCAM its users. I now unable to check in to my flight and have to do it person which is what we all attempt to avoid. I wish there was a 0 star option.

App dosnt even want to start. App keeps saying to connect to wifi even after being connected to wifi, restarted, and deleted and redownloaded, what was the point of making a new app that doesn’t even work and forcing us to use it?

App doesn’t work. Downloaded the app to try and see, but the app says it cannot find a network connection. Maybe they turned off the server? Who knows. Will be deleting this app. Why is this so much different that it needs to be a new app. Why not update the current app. Maybe the can get it right in 3.0 or Volaris 100.0 at this point.

Awful, awful, awful!. Was able to check in for one person in our party today, for the second one - the app doesn’t load. I called customer service, they said that I cannot talk to management because it’s an app problem. As soon as I said I’m going to give corporate the name of the agent who I was with on the phone, the app started working and was able to check in. I understand this is a budget airline, but needing manual interference to check in and not being able to do so on a website - DISGUSTING!

Extremely Disappointed with Volaris App and Customer Service. I’m writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the Volaris app and the overall customer service experience. As a frequent flyer, V.Pass holder and INVEX CARD 2.0 I expected a minimum level of professionalism and reliability—but what I encountered was frustrating, inefficient, and unacceptable. The app is unreliable and often fails to function properly when I need it most. It crashes frequently, loads slowly, and doesn’t provide accurate or up-to-date flight information. Booking or managing flights is unnecessarily complicated, and notifications are either delayed or never arrive. Worse than the app is the complete lack of support from your customer service team. Getting assistance is nearly impossible either on WhatsApp, phone or email. Response times are excessive, and when I do get a reply on WhatsApp, it’s generic and unhelpful. Agents seem either unwilling or unable to resolve basic issues, leaving me stuck without solutions and hang up on me when I try to ask for a supervisor. Also, some of the customer service reps English is not sufficient enough for English speaking customers. They either mumble or you can’t understand what they are trying to say. I’ve been patient, but this experience has pushed me to my limit. If Volaris wants to retain loyal customers, major improvements are needed—starting with treating customers like they matter.

Terrible. I was forced to download the app after I tried to check in for my vacation in 2 days through the original app. Now I can’t log in to my account on the app and I’m being told “to try again later”. Unable to complete my check in, continue to buy carry on, and access my plane ticket. Terrible app.

Doesn’t work. Why release a beta ?it’s so slow and it crashes out and now we can’t use the old app.

Could not connect to server?. Great new features but won’t allow me to Check-in the day of my flight & for some reason when try to check in online. It still forces you to use the new Volaris 2.0 app.

Useless App. If you’re looking for an App that can’t do anything, you’ve downloaded the correct app. For anyone else looking for a functioning app that will allow you to book flights and check in, keep looking, this isn’t it.

Great Airline, Bad App. I love Volaris, but the app has always been challenging. This morning I tried to open my boarding pass and was forced to update the app. I haven’t been able to open since. Thankfully I took a screenshot of the pass a few days ago.

Passport scanning. Please give us the option to scan or type in passport information manually. I usually have get boarding passes for my parents when they travel and their passports are not with me. So what im having to do is have them take a picture of the passport and send those pictures to another phone so I can try to scan them with my phone. It’s a mess, PLEASE fix this.

Bully you into paying $$. All the reviews are correct. The app does not work. When I arrived at the airport Volaris asks me to check in through the app to get my boarding pass. I told them them it didn’t work. They said I needed to pay an extra fee in order to get my boarding pass because I did not have it. Again, told them it did not work and the only solution they offered me was to check in through a computer. I’m at an airport. I don’t have a computer. I had to act very aggressively and raised my voice and the gate agent. They finally printed our family’s boarding pass. Do not let them bully you into paying more money!!!

Awful.. Why do we need to download a second app when we already had one? Should we all delete the first one? I cannot do check in without scanning the passport for my grandma who is abroad right now! Only thing they cared about in this app was the visuals when opening it.

Bug fixes on 2.0 are super glitchy. I keep getting notices that I have no seats when I already paid for and books seats. Now my flight leaves tomorrow and I get a cryptic message saying I need to login and accept the changes - but when I log in it appears it’s the same flight same time - I’m already checked in with seats - there’s nothing different and nowhere to approve the non-changes. Very unsettling. Don’t like the new app at all. Needs fixing.

Ridiculous. The fact that it won’t let you enter your document manually is ridiculous. I’m trying to check-in for my parents but it wants me to scan their documents. They’re not with me. It should allow me to enter it manually so I can check them in, instead of forcing one to scan the documents.

HORRIBLE. So many issues… glitches where the prices do not show right, the reservation can’t be found, cancellations without any notification, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t… simply the worst experience

Doesn’t let you check in. Honestly this new update is not helpful at all, I am trying to help a family member check in but I am not able to do so since I don’t have the passport with me, because it has to scan the passport. Now they’re not able to check in. Horrible app.

Electronic Voucher. Frustrating using the apps to try and purchase flights and error message pops up. Also, when trying to purchase flights it doesn’t give the option to add electronic vouchers. Very frustrating using this new app

Horrible do not fly on this airline !!!. I had a flight scheduled and one week before the flight I had to cancel or even change my flight dates. Regardless of either option I had to pay for another set of tickets. You will never get refunded or helped. I will never use this airline ever. A bunch of thieves. All so I can go see my dead father’s grave. SHAME ON YOU

Getting worse…. This app is terrible. The old app worked a lot better for me. It crashed multiple times while trying to reserve a flight. When I finally did book it, it automatically charged me in MXN causing my cc to charge me a foreign transaction fee. I’m sticking to the website moving forward

Not good. When up dated I lost all my trips info, it was very frustrating especially that you talk to a Robot, I was able to find some ,but I still can ged one , It just give me the reservation number but I already have that it just will not take it. The trip is in 5 days .

A big improvement. I’ve been using the Volaris app for years, and the new Volaris 2.0 update is much better! The interface is much more intuitive, making it easier than ever to book flights, manage reservations, and check in. The app is now faster, more stable, and provides real-time updates on flights. Overall, this update makes traveling with Volaris smoother and more convenient. Highly recommend!

Crashes and never works. I try to get on and it crashes every single day. I wish I could go back to the old one but it won’t let me . I can’t check the status of my flights or look for new ones. Website sends me to the app so I’m stuck not being able to do anything. I have an iPhone. Nunca me funciona la app .

The updates are infuriating. I keep trying to use the app, and it pushes through an update and bars me from seeing my reservation. I’m literally on a plane right now, and I can’t check what time my plane is landing because of an update from three hours ago. This is insane. This is the third time this has happened. I’m hours away from WiFi. The updates need to allow the older version still to work!

Doesn’t work.. I’d give zero starts but that wasn’t an option. This app is unable to scan the passport. Too bad the developers decided it was a good idea to have to scan as the ONLY way to input the information. What it would be a very simple process of typing the info directly, was made impossible by poor design.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - wasn’t even able to fly. I wasn’t even able to fly with Volaris on March 30, 2025, at 4:45 PM because they overbooked the flight and canceled two of the three seats I had booked months in advance—one for my brother and one for my sister. When I tried to check in, they allowed me to check in but didn’t let me check in my siblings, instructing me to go to the front desk. When I got there, the agent told me that I, along with my two minor siblings, had been bumped off the flight due to overbooking—this happened three hours before our scheduled departure. To make matters worse, Volaris made no effort to help. They didn’t provide compensation, a hotel stay, food, or any kind of support. I was forced to book a last-minute flight with another airline for the next day since there were no available flights that same night. This cost me over $2,000, plus an extra $100 for food and drinks while I had to stay up all night and all day at the airport. We were stranded there for over 14 hours, and during this time, both of my siblings suffered from dehydration due to the lack of proper rest and resources. The lack of professionalism and customer service from Volaris was beyond frustrating. This was my first experience with them, and it will definitely be my last. I strongly advise others to think twice before booking with Volaris.

Disappointed. I purchased a ticket on Thursday 3rd for a family member once they got to the counter she got told her plane ticket wasn’t purchased ??? How is that possible when I see here on my bank transactions that it went through and I received the email and everything. Be careful!!

I been use Volaris for years and this new app does not give you discount or promotion options. We’ve been using Volaris for many years and now with this new app that’s rip off and jacking up the prices in the tickets for less than two hour flight is ridiculous. I’am not going Hawaii or Rome. Almost $800 usd for 2 hr flight. And customs service super awful. I like old app where give options and discounts not just rip off app stealing money from you. From long term🤬 dispointed customers .

I never learn. Every time i have flown Volaris , my flight always gets delayed , changed, canceled or something happens. My fault for still booking flights with them every once in a while. I don’t know how they’re still in business. People say its because their flights are cheap? Maybe but they screw you with the luggage fees.

App does not work. Trying to check in for my flight and the app will not let me. I tried calling customer service, the first number was disconnected, the second number gave me a 3rd number to try, the 3rd phone number could also not help.

2.0 is better.. The Volaris update was needed. I like it personally, and it’s been very convenient for my flights. I love it.

Cannot Purchase Tickets. Redownloaded “new and improved” app but cannot book a flight. First and foremost prices increase by the minute therefore I am trying to book a flight at a okay price but cannot book it on the app. Then I go to book online but prices for the same flight show a $200 increase. This needs to be fixed so I can book the flight I need at the price that is shown on the APP.

Functional. I love the new update. It doesn’t glitch as much and doesn’t change to Mexican pesos currency options

Unable to use features. I tried multiple times to check in for my flight and it kept indicating “unable to connect to server.” Also, need to take multiple steps to find option to select seating. Hard to find customer service contact information

Even Spirit’s App is better. You can’t check in unless you scan your passport with your phone, how am I checking my mom in?! I should just be able to put the information in, the same way you took my money when I was booking. 😠

Terrible app—do not trust its accuracy. The app is terrible and incorrect. It showed my flight as on time and ready for check-in even though the flight had been canceled three days earlier. I didn’t find out about the cancellation until I got to the airport that is an hour away from my house. It is true that it would not let me check-in successfully but it said nothing about my flight being canceled. It just said that I should check with the ticketing counter when I arrived at the airport. The Volaris employee at the airport said that bad things like happen all day every day. The airline itself is already unreliable and now their app is too. Shame on them.

Just let me put in my information Manually.. This app is very bad. You cannot check-in without having to scan your passport with your phone camera. You can’t enter information manually. You go to their website to avoid this and you have to download this app in order to check in. How does that make sense. This is BAD decision. How am I supposed to help older family members check in when I physically have to be with them to scan their passport.

What is this??. This is the 3rd update and it hasn’t even been a week. They should focus on their app instead of focusing on raising their prices every 3 seconds. You can never check in on the apps anyway. I tried to purchase airplane tickets twice and it denied me. It wouldn’t even let me the third time cause it kicked me out…. Fast forward to THREE minutes later the flight went up by 80 dollars EACH ticket. I’ve been hunting a good deal since. I dislike how you HAVE to be a member to purchase but I am, but I can’t purchase tickets for just my kids, an adult has to be on the flight mine you my parents are on the same flight but they purchased the tickets on their own. Long story short I dislike this app, always kicks me out, never does the payment correct

Check In process HORRIBLE. This is my second time reviewing the app because it’s gotten SO BAD. You are no longer able to check in for your family members if you normally do. I check in for elderly family members traveling since they have trouble using electronic devices. Now, you CANNOT check in without having the documents in hand to SCAN. There is no option to enter manually and the scanner glitches at times forcing you to check in in person - possibly risking the airline to give your seat to those in standby despite you purchasing your ticket in advance. HORRIBLE UPDATE! They need to go back to the old process or at least let manual check in accessible on the website. When you go to the website it directs you to download the app..

Terrible App. This app is no better than the first app Volaris developed. Still problems ridden. Trying to check in for my flight and it just continues to show a message that says “unable to connect to server”. Tried checking in on the website and everything pushes you right back to the app, which is absolutely terrible. All of these airlines never fix the bugs that happen on their apps. Seems like they just try to create an app the cheapest way possible. Do not recommend. And developers, PLEASE FIX THE BUGS ON YOUR APP!!!

This deserves 0 stars. New app, same issues. I can never check in because “Information does not match the records” except it never tells me what information doesn’t match. It also doesn’t let you manually enter information. I have no idea what is new and improved about this new app

Passport scanning. There isn’t anything great about this app. Why can’t we input passport information without having to scan it? It makes zero sense especially when family members do the check in process for others.

Totally useless. Volaris require you to check in ONLY on the APP ! The app has an error , can’t even reach the start page. I’ve deleted and re-installed twice, still the same. Absolute BS. You would think an airline would be running a better operation than this.

Not working at all. You can not scan your passport, it always misses the issue country. You can not correct it manually. Totally useless.

Terrible. The app is scanning my passport wrong and not allowing manual changes. Now I can’t check in for my flight because of the incorrect information and there is no way to change it even with rescanning it.

Worst app for the worst airline. You get what you pay for. This app is tremendously terrible. Forces you to scan passport doesn’t let you enter manually. Forces you to download this dumb useless app to check in it’s just dumb all around.

Worse airline app ever. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it This is unnecessarily complicated The document scan does not work and there is no other way to input the data. So no way to enter the data. Therefore the app is useless.

Needs improvement. I am trying to log in. However , keeps telling me incorrect Password.I have same login from previous app.

From bad to worse. I’m trying to run the app on iOS 18.5 on a 16 Pro Max and the app does not launch alerting me that there’s no internet connection. Ironically, I can launch AMX 2.0 on the same phone.

New app. This app is slow and sometimes freezes. If they are going to reroute those using the original Volaris app let it be for a better and improved app not a crappier one.

New version is the worst. The old version worked better than this 2.0. Yes 2.0 is design better but it doesn’t work it always gives me an error message when looking for flights!!!!

Worthless. Forced to download the app to get a boarding pass, then the app does not work anyway, so I still had to go to the counter in person. What was even the point of making an app?

SCAM. An awful app and airline. They made me download a full new app instead of a software update because they are incompetent developers. Baggage prices changes every time you refresh.

The WORST update. I have had to connect to wifi multiple times to update the app while on vacation to make sure I can check in. Then get the boarding pass for me to have to update it the airport AGAIN!!! Waste of time.

Horrible. This is by far the worst airline app I’ve ever used. The original app was just as bad as this one. This needs to get resolved soon. Volaris in general is a horrible airline as well. Please look at other airlines if you plan on flying to Latin America. >:(

Misinformation. Information on prices while looking through different devices and languages changes, even while being on the same currency. If im using the app in english, half of the buttons arent visible or work. Would like to add a checked baggage that isnt $160+

Horrible app. Only form of passport verification is through scanning your passport so if your camera doesn’t work you will be unable to check in. Very poorly designed app

Garbage. Complete garbage, the app says that can’t find internet connection. I’m trying to complete check-in for a flight and can’t do anything because that can only be done on the app.

Cannot Check In. Impossible to check-in by scanning the passport - it has a bug that it cannot read the issuing country for a German passport. Volaris is forcing us to move to this broken app. Bring back the old one, please!

Disaster app. My trips are not saved even though I logged in. I've checked into my flight and my boarding passes do not all appear for all of my family members. It shows me 3 passengers but only loads boarding passes for 2 of us.

App needs a lot of work. This App doesn’t work. When it does it kicks you out. One of the worst airline apps out there. Just go online and do your business and get it over with. The app is worthless. Needs professional help.

Horrible. New and better ? Mostly worse. They need to get rid of the Scan. It doesn’t even work and I’m trying to type. It doesn’t let me which it annoying only scanning.

Does not work!. Went to check in on the first version and they won’t let me do anything there so you go to the second version 2.0 and it does not work. It says there’s no Wi-Fi connected and there is I can’t even find it on my Wi-Fi area.

Frozen. I couldn’t buy a flight because the app doesn’t let me select the return, some how it’s frozen when I try to select the date.

Worst experience ever. They did not allow me to check in on the app. I was on time to do so too! Probably over booked & now I have to deal with their consequences. I do not reccomend traveling with them. Departure flight was great but returning(lax) is filled with issues

Can’t type in information. You can only scan your passport and can’t input it manually. Then you get to the airport and they want you to pay for checking in there 🤡
