MacroFactor Workouts - Tracker Comments & Reviews 2026

Great App!. I’ve never reviewed an app but I was so impressed with the app that I wanted to share my positive opinions of it. For context I like in an apartment building with limited equipment but definitely gets the job done. The fact I could choose the equipment for the workouts I plan to do was surprising. Jeff’s hundred of videos of the techniques across all types of equipment is a real testament of his commitment. I’m enjoying the fact the app over the last three weeks has helped me really push my effort and the RIR has been really accurate with when I’m at failure or maybe I can squeeze out one more rep. All in all if you have the MacroFactor app give this a try as well or at least do the free trial. It is worth giving it a shot.

Decent programming. It’s a pretty decent ai workout program. Very easy to use and most of the exercises have videos demonstrating how they are performed. Still has some bugs that they are working through. Some of the programs are designed a bit odd. For example I had it design a 5x week split for me, first thing I noticed is each day it had 3 sets of leg extensions often with a rpe of 8-9, then also having 2 days of barbell squats with each day having 1 set of rpe 9, in addition to other lower movements such as rdls, curls, leg press etc that’s quite a hefty amount of volume for quads with little time to recover. While other isolation movements were skipped all together such as curls. The 5x week had no curls at all built into the program, I mean what else am I supposed to do in the squat rack lol. Only had indirect sets with rows and pulls for biceps.

Coach on my phone. This app does an awesome job of both recording my workouts and recommending how to do the next lift based on the previous efforts. It takes on all the calculating and thinking, I just have to execute. It also provides amazing detail on how to do each exercise including videos for each exercise. It does a good job of balancing automatically created workouts based on my goals and equipment while keeping it fully customizable so you can alter the automatically created workouts to my liking.

Confusing. OK, so I’m not a big reviewer but I’m not I’m not a big fan of the UI I don’t I don’t understand it. I don’t get it. I don’t understand how it works. I’m not saying it’s not a bad app like it probably could be a better it probably would be like transitional. I just don’t understand the UI. I’ve been trying to make workouts and I’m like what and then ask for multiple ABCD workout and I’m like what and then I try to make my own workout and it doesn’t do it like easily. It’s like I have to make multiple or duplicate it. I don’t know. I don’t understand that you I don’t understand how it works. I don’t get it yeah I don’t know. Could probably be really really good, but I usually prefer to create my own workouts and yeah, it would be nice if I could create my own workout and just you know be able to auto generate itself like that like oh I want to do this work out and just plan it for the next day and the next day and the next day and the next day in a way that you know I like to make my workouts. I don’t know if that makes sense, but yeah, that you are really confusing to me.

Massive Fan. I absolutely loved the nutrition app. Was so excited for this to come out and it did not disappoint. It’s already improved my training in a few short weeks. The programming is super helpful and customizable to goals and the auto progression has shown me that I may not have been pushing like I should be with my lifts in the past. But I am now. Can’t recommend it enough. Also love the team behind it. They just produce excellence across all fronts.

Good starting point but overly complex UI. The pros are what I trust to be really good algorithms. The team nailed the diet app in terms of math so don’t doubt the numbers here once the kinks are worked out. The cons are an overly complex user interface. I don’t doubt I could get it to do what I want in terms of my own program, but the barrier of entry is too high. You either take what the app gives you or spend a lot of time tapping away hoping you do it right. No in-between. Ended up using an auto-generated program with a lot of like for like subs. During workouts the fonts are too small and some integrations like rest notifications don’t work. Plan to finish out this cycle then decide if using it going forward.

Best workout app with room to improve. I’ve given the app 5 stars because it really does stand out especially on release. Fully featured in terms of exercise selection, building out a program, connecting with macrofactor etc. Gym profiles makes it so easy for me to select different gyms like Planet fitness, Work, and Home. Makes it super easy for me to get my workouts in. I don’t know if this was by “happenstance” but I started a very aggressive cut in MacroFactor. The workout app program reps and sets decreased quite a bit I noticed and my weight load increased a bit. HUGE help and made my life easier but again I do not know if this was a freak deload or what. Super useful and convenient timing for the start of my cut. That being said there is room to improve. I’d like to see recommendations for cardio. I saw equipment get added but I think all programs should get optional cardio available to add as it would be nice to account for. Another glaring problem which is being worked on I’m sure is program options. Bro splits and PPL missing was a huge surprise. You can always import or make workouts but it is odd to be missing on launch. Noticed some equipment has pictures but no videos but I’m sure the team is actively working on that. Overall great app and look forward to coming updates.

Bland at best.. MacroFactor is a great app at tracking, and that’s what it’s meant to do… as is this app. Think MacroFactor slimmed down but monotonous and bulky-feeling. Considering what’s going on in the app-based workout world as of Jan 2026, this app ranks mid to what’s out there. Extremely bland, even compared to other workout tracking apps. Does not incite joy when I go to work out, only incites “here we go again.” I was happy how customizable it was at first glance, but when getting into the app it doesn’t sync with many services. I suggest Strongsplit if you want to track, Gravl for workouts, and Strong if you like to input data/doing it your way.

Raving Fan. I am not new to working out and being in the gym. However, I am very new to lifting and what I should be doing. This app and its integration with Macrofactor’s nutrition app makes everything so easy and seamless. I am working towards leaning down and building muscle. I was able to integrate the program I am already working on into the app by making a custom program. This app makes tracking the workouts so easy. On top of that, after you adjust the RIR targets it will automatically coach you as to what you should do for your next set. Well done. I’m so thankful for this app. It gives me a new thing to look forward to when I head in! 5 stars all around.

Really like the app but has a glitch. So far I’m really enjoying this app. It’s intuitive and the UI is so easy to use. I love how I can customize my home gym so it knows what workouts I’m able to do. My one complaint is there seems to be a glitch where if you’re sharing your health app info with it and use the apple fitness app at the same time as this app to track your calories then your active calories will not be counted towards your move ring. It’s a minor inconvenience but if this was fixed then I’d give this app 5 stars easy.

Lets me focus on just doing the workout. Great app, takes a lot of the thinking out of both the planning and the workout itself and the demos and explanations are fantastic. A couple issues I’d love to see addressed: - Many exercises call for band assistance but the way bands are quantified in the app isn’t helpful. It will call for an exact weight but my bands have a range. I wish I could input the bands I have with their ranges and colors and have the app work with that rather than suggest -125.5 and force me to correct it every time. Also I don’t think these band ratings are even that accurate so the suggested reps are always way off. Perhaps focus on progression rather than exact weight for bands? - Very minor but I have 8 and 12 lb dumbbells but I can only specify 7.5 and 12.5

Fantastic app. So far it’s the best workout app I have ever used. The progression bar always being visible is great, making it larger (the screen width) would’ve made it even better. The infographics with how many plates or what kind when clicked on the weight are genius! So helpful! This app really need an Apple Watch companion, it’s the only thing that stops me from recommending it to others. Logging on Apple Watch is so much easier than doing it on the phone. I hope you make an Apple Watch companion with the basic log features.

Awesome & Worthwhile. I am not new to working out, but this app takes a lot of the stress off of me. I have an extremely busy schedule, I have very little time to work out, and this app allows me the freedom of using my time to spare to get stronger. I first used the MacroFactor app to get on the right path with my calorie and macros-counting; I couldn’t be more thankful and appreciative. I cannot wait to see the progress that I made with this new app from the same developers! Thank you.

It works. This is a great app. It has pretty much everything I could ever want in a workout app. It’s really easy to use and super intuitive. You also put in the equipment you actually have and the weights of those things and it pretty much always tells you exactly what you need to do which is helpful on things like a 125 hack squat machine or whatever where my head struggles with how much you put on. The update to weight/reps based on previous RPE and intended RPE is also really nice. I truly recommend this app.

Work in Progress. I’ve used it for about three or four workouts or so, and I can say it’s pretty decent. Importing workouts from previous Jeff Nippard workout plans via a xlsx file (excel spreadsheet), worked decent. Some of his workouts that are on the program aren’t yet on this workout tracker, which is unfortunate. The videos describing how to do the workouts are informative if you have the internet to load them. On the overhand grip barbell inverted row specifically, the first video is wrong, as it’s showing a weighted tricep dip. Making your own workouts from scratch is a bit clunky and hard to learn. I think where the app does it’s best (and probably what most people will mainly use), is creating a workout program for you. It does a fair job, but with all AI workout planners it’s pretty much selecting the workouts somewhat at random.

Insane value. MAKE sure to coach yourself too!. I had been using MacroFactor, the nutrition app, on and off for about a year and was excitedly waiting for the workouts app to come out to have cohesion with the data and user flow. The app is a dream and such a natural extension of the regular MacroFactor app, which has been receiving a lot of support and updates over the time I've been using it as well. There are waay more things to like and love than dislike about both of these apps. One thing to keep in mind while doing the workouts is to *stay present in your body* and be aware of when you're starting to feel: 1. Any pain 2. Lower range of motion 3. Tingling or other sensations in your muscles It can be easy to push yourself with this app since it wants to help you get stronger and stronger, and it often puts higher and higher weight loads on you in ways that can seem pretty fast for me at times. YOU are your ground truth, not stats and plans in an app.

New Strength Unlocked. The team has done it again! Workouts has completely up-leveled my perception of self-strength. I thought I was pushing myself with solid progressive overloads and hypertrophy training, but that changed in the first week of using Macrofactor Workouts programs. I’ve been challenged to alter my routine, try new movements, and push sets to failure to discover untapped potential. I can’t wait to use this all year and see how I feel in 2027. Thanks to the Macrofactor team!

Honestly great app. I never really review apps, but this one is so well done I felt the need to write a review. 2 things I don’t like/need a fix: it should be easier to switch gym profiles. When I change the gym I’m working out it won’t change my suggested workouts for the week, so I had to delete the two other gyms I go to because it was bothering me. Second thing is sometimes it suggests weights I don’t have or aren’t available on the pin machines. I put in my ez bar weights (which are jump by tens) sometimes it suggests weights like 35 lbs Besides that amazing app

I’m all in on MacroFactor!. I started using the MacroFactor (food tracking) app at the beginning of this year when I decided to embark on my first honest-to-God cut in 5 years and I instantly fell in love. Fast forward a few months and I decided to get the MacroFactor Workouts app and being impressed continued! This app is phenomenal! Tracking your workouts, seemingly unlimited machine and setup variations, and so much more. I love the ability to upload/import other programs you have excel/Google Sheets for, the exercise/equipment swap feature, and so much more make this such an amazing app. There are a few changes I’d love to see, but none are enough to hurt the 5-Star review! Highly recommend this app for workout and training tracking/progress. Be prepared to have to edit some of the weights and ranges that are prescribed in your first few weeks but once it learns your strength, etc. Additionally, I HIGHLY recommend coupling this with the nutrition tracking MacroFactor app because the combined price is unbeatable! Highly recommend both across the board!

Awesome app, some tweaks to make it perfect. 1. I turned off rest timers in settings, yet they still go off and notify my phone when it ends. I have double checked settings in each workout and rest timers are off. Please fix 2. Workout videos are great, I’d suggest shortening the first video to the workout movement, and erase the walking into frame. Keep the long video there but as a 2nd or 3rd option like you already have for the secondary angles.

4 soon to be 5. So far so good. App is working well and is smooth. Missing HR integrations which most other apps have… thinking peloton and runna. Familiar UI to MacroFactor which makes adoption easy. Solid job for a v1. I have two, maybe three issues that are all pretty easy to fix. I realize easily is highly subjective. Anyway here are the three things that could use some UX tweaking. 1. When entering my own programming - it would be great if I could progressively add the sets reps and weight without having my template wiped out because I added another set. It’s really frustrating. 2. I’d love to add warmup sets as a part of my template. That way I don’t need to remember how many warmup sets I need. 3. More feature request than anything. I’d love to see a way to start the next set of my workout without it just flowing into the next set by default. Could open the door to some interesting analytics for you all. - UX engineer with opinions

Bad. Nearly unusable as is. First, it created a workout plan with an absurd amount of volume. Second, the smart progression feature is useless. After painstakingly editing all the weight counts for every machine and weight set it still recommends stupid amounts of reps per exercise OUTSIDE of the rep goal window it recommends! Or weight that isn’t within the weight parameters I set. So I had to disable. All said and done what I ended up with after all the editing and feature disabling was just a workout tracker app like Strong but with a far more complicated UI. Not worth it. Really disappointed. I hope this reaches a developer as I have been a long time Jeff Nippard fan and a daily religious macro factor user.

Finally, an algorithm that understands hypertrophy (Bye Strong!). I’ve been a die-hard user of the MacroFactor nutrition app for years, so when they announced a workout companion, my expectations were sky-high. MacroFactor Workouts exceeds them. Most workout apps are just digital notebooks—you have to guess when to add weight or add sets. This app is different. It brings the same "smart coaching" philosophy to the gym. True Auto-Regulation: The "Smart Progression" feature is a game changer. It adjusts my targets daily based on my actual performance and RIR (Reps In Reserve). It pushes me when I’m recovering well and pulls back when I’m not. No more guessing if I should add 5lbs or hold steady. Jeff Nippard’s Library: The exercise library isn't just generic animations; having technique videos from Jeff Nippard built-in is incredible value. Seamless Integration: Syncing body metrics and recovery data with the nutrition app makes this the most complete fitness ecosystem on the iPhone. If you are serious about muscle growth and want a program that adapts to you rather than a static PDF, download this now. The bundle pricing with the nutrition app makes it a no-brainer.

Love it. 1 week in, and I’m loving it so far. I’ve been strength training for 2 years and I’m making the switch to hypertrophy training. Really loving the rep/weight and RIR suggestions. I used to push weights so hard so it was difficult to determine my lighter loads and volume. This app is making it a breeze and I have way more energy throughout the week because 1)I’m not constantly straining my MRV and 2) I’ve been eliminating a lot of junk volume. Too soon for progress photos but I’m feeling sore in new areas which is one of many great indicators that I might be unlocking the “next level” for my physique.

Overly complicated-Too rigid. This app had promise, but it collapses under its own complexity. Instead of enabling training, it actively gets in the way. Basic workout creation is unnecessarily constrained, forcing users into the app’s logic rather than supporting how experienced lifters actually train. I paid for a tool and got a maze. The hype leans heavily on “science” and optimization, but that clearly didn’t trickle down to the actual user experience. What’s presented as intelligent design feels more like rigid dogma wrapped in marketing. For anyone who already understands programming and progression, this is not just disappointing, it’s unusable. I’m cancelling and returning to something simpler, faster, and actually intuitive.

Outstanding initial release. Been using the app for 10 days, and am already really impressed. The workout it built based on the equipment I have in my garage gym is spot on with the time window I requested, and hitting all the muscle groups I want. I love the ease of tracking each set, and that it recommends RIR for each set. The exercise explanations and videos were easy to access and view for the couple exercises I wasn’t familiar with. Only small gripe is it sometimes recommends a dumbbell weight I don’t have, but it’s easy enough to update to the lbs I use. Loving it so far, and excited to see the data it presents over time. Keep up the great work, and keep the great features coming! 😄

Amazing app by awesome people. I’ve been using the nutrition app for about 6 months now, and it has helped me in so many ways. So of course, when the same team announced a workout app, I was stoked. I thought I was relatively good in my workouts, and with a custom made workout routine that I was very comfortable with, I was hesitant to try out the app’s workout plan. However, I figured I could give it a try for a week at least, and if I didn’t like it I’d just go back to my old routine. Well, the week is up, and I am absolutely sticking with the app’s plan. Somehow my body is tired in ways that it has never been tired before, but I don’t feel worn out. Does that even make sense? I love the adjustability and the ease of use. All I did was pick a few focus areas, tell it how long I wanted to work out, how many days, and if I preferred full body or split workouts. Boom, workout plan done. It has targeted my selected groups well, while still making sure that the rest of my body is getting trained. I’m doing exercises I’ve never even seen before, but the video tutorials and written explanations make them easy to accomplish. Granted, there are a few minor bugs since the app is still new, but the team behind this app is beyond responsive. If you do download the app, I highly suggest following their Reddit page as well. Any time I’ve had a question I can look it up there, and someone has already asked and gotten an answer. Very excited to see the results I get from this workout app, I’m already pushing myself much harder than ever before!

Opinion. Overall really well gave it a 5 stars because the app is very well managed and easy to understand, you can also adjust the workout based on the equipment you have , there is a variety of different workouts and after a month I have noticed a bigger difference. My favorites part is the body diagram where it shows which muscles you workout the most and it breaks down how many sets you did for that and you can prioritize different muscle groups and it also syncs really well with the MacroFactor app.

Early Review, but impressive so far. As a long time user of the Macrofactor nutrition app, my expectations were high and have so far been met. Excellent functionality and attention to detail, as with the nutrition app. Currently only utilizing the custom program option. It is fairly intuitive to use, with a very comprehensive movement database from which to choose. Creating a custom movement is a bit clunky relative to Strong or Hevy, but not by much. It easily syncs with other apps and automatically transfers data from the nutrition app. The AI suggestions for added sets are spot on with regard to RIR targets. So far my only (minor) complaints are the inability to create sticky notes that follow custom workouts and are visible on the workout overview screen, and the timer sound is chosen in the “sound and haptics” menu in iOS settings. I would prefer a more aggressive bell like Strong. The reliabilityod the timer sound has also been inconsistent, periodically going silent despite being activated. Minor complaints. Overall loving it. Obviously a meticulously designed app. The lack of sticky notes is key though, its very cumbersome to require opening past sessions to review cues/reminders/notes.

Beta Tester Perspective. I’ve been beta testing MacroFactor workouts for about a month, and it’s exactly what I was hoping for. It doesn’t feel like a generic workout tracker-it feels like smart programming built for real lifters. The strength, hypertrophy, and hybrid options are well thought out, progression is logical, and fatigue management actually makes sense. I train 3 days a week at maintenance calories, and the hybrid setup has been perfect for maintaining strength while driving hypertrophy. Clean UI, easy to use, and it fits seamlessly with MacroFactor’s data driven philosophy. If you already trust MacroFactor for nutrition, this feels like the missing piece.

Love the smart progression. I’ve tried a bunch of different workout apps (including some from those who are generally respected in the fitness space). This one beats them all in my opinion. The progression is realistic and I’m surprised at how spot on it is most of the time. It’s easy to log and I love that it’s seamless with the MacroFactor app (which I also love). I like the customizability and they’ve got good reports too. If you’re waffling on whether or not to try it, I think it’s a no-brainer. And if you do food logging anyway, the bundle price is a steal when looking at similar app combos (workout + food logging).

Dumbbell workout. This is the best workout app I’ve encountered. I’ve used Strong and I also have a lot AthleanX programs. I tailored my workout to Dumbbells only to be more time efficient (I’m a teacher limited time) and it has been great! From the program adapting the warm ups, weights and reps to the exercise demos and the ability to upload Jeff Nippard’s workouts has all been fantastic! I like AthleanX programs they’re great, but they have no app. I’ve used Jeff Nippard’s Essential programs and now to have them on an easy to use app has been very beneficial to me.

Fantastic. Been using the macro factor app for food and it’s been amazing. This workout app is even better. Used it for the first time this morning, the library of exercises is huge, app is super clean looking and very easy to use. I built my usual program into it and the app really pushed me, and I am excited to see my progress with this app. Hopefully they add widgets to the Home Screen, and strength tracker or something would be cool as well as a feature to see if your homemade split is optimal or not. Def a 10/10 so far.

Excellent!. After what seemed like an eternity, MacroFactor Workouts is finally here! Workouts is a polished and skillfully designed workout app that combines astute AI generated programs and workouts with the seamless ability for users to tweak and customize what Workouts generates. The result is an extremely flexible platform that intelligently learns and adjusts as it learns when users log workout sessions. It’s still early, but as usage continues, it will be interesting to see how the app learns and uses data to adjust workout programs.

Great, not perfect. I’ve used more than a dozen hypertrophy, strength and mobility training apps from all the big personalities and companies in this space. The MF Workouts app is very very good. Two things hold it back. One: I can’t add/track cardio and or mobility work easily. This is, by far, the single biggest flaw in almost all of these apps. They all track one thing very well, but none of them track an entire fitness regimen end to end. There are some apps that will do this, but they’re so clunky that a 45 to 60 minute workout takes an extra 10 to 15 minutes because the in-app workflow is horrible. Two: Poor Apple Health integration. Right now you have to track your workout on your watch separately to log heart rate, workout length, caloric burn, etc. I think it’s on their roadmap but they don’t earn five stars until this is done.

The best workout app I’ve used so far.. I’ve been using MacroFactor meal tracking for about a year so when they added the workout app, I thought I would give it a try. It’s excellent! The videos show you proper form and technique for each exercise. You can customize your workout or see what the intelligent app gives you to do. The library of exercises and gym machines is vast so most every machine your gym would have is in the app. Swapping machines and exercises is easy and the swap recommendation choices are great! I have used Body by Science, MyFitCoach, Fitbod and Stacked. This app is far superior.

I want to like this but it needs work!!. While I like a lot about the app, there is more that I don’t like that has me hesitant to switch. Here are the issues I keep running into: 1) when I try to create a custom exercise I almost always get a message saying “this used to be a custom exercise, but it is no longer on our radar.” So it will not let me add any data or use it as an exercise. 2) the naming of exercises is all over the place. 3) the suggestions for weight and reps often don’t make sense. They will reduce weight it reps even if I was within the set rep goal on the previous workout day or even the previous set. 4) this is small but there is nothing that tells you that you just set a PR. It’s nice and can be motivating to see that when it happens. 5) when searching for an exercise and trying to filter them by a specific muscle, it will show you every exercise that has that muscle listed even if it’s listed as a secondary muscle. So when I search for a rear Delt exercise I get just about every back exercise. This makes the filter about worthless. There are some other minor issues but these are the main ones that keep me from using this as my main app.

Already the Best!. I’ve used other apps like Boostcamp & Strong but I’d have to put in a bunch of extra steps to make the apps work the way I wanted too. This one already knocked most of my problems with everything else out immediately! I don’t really leave reviews but this app is already great and I haven’t a good feeling about it! Immediately porting in my cycle from Strong to this so it’ll be my main app. You can be as involved and custom as you want or you can just let it do everything for you which I think is so sick, haven’t seen it done in other apps without it being super clunky and unintuitive. So many cool quality of life features like the way cycles are structured, the custom gym setups, the target RIR vs actual RIR, rep ranges, rest timers, the smart weight/progression adjustments (interested to see how it takes my training overtime), adjusting machine specific weight stacks/plates amount, planned deloads and a bunch of other stuff that I haven’t had a chance to mess with yet and I’m sure they’re add more. Also ties in with MacroFactor too so that’s neat :) I’d need time to see what I’d like it to do differently but overall already better than literally everything else Ive used Super beginner friendly with videos and stuff in case you don’t know. But if you’re not like me and just want it to do everything for you it will too it looks like. Shoutout to Jeff and the MacroFactor team for the app and looking forward to seeing how they evolve it! 10/10

Very good, and challenging. This app is very good and I like the AI that’s in it and supplies me with what weight to hit next and the workout. Only complaint is that the App only pulls info from the health app and doesn’t put the Workouts in the health app, and also no smart watch functions to record heart rate during exercise. I came from the Hevy app and really enjoyed these 2 features as I’m a record junky and like looking at that stuff, and also my gym (crunch) has monthly activity points (points don’t mean anything besides showing you put work in) from completing workouts. So if this app once completing a Workout can be put into the health app and record heart rate that would be fantastic

Best App for Strength Training. Having used most all the major players over the years such as Strong, Liftin Hevy, , FitBod etc, thankful for them all for helping me our my journey but always saw so much for improvement. When heard MF was brining their design and dev chops and customization to a Workout app backed by incredibly responsive and transparent devs, I was hooked. Have been using their beta and now the final version and truly exceptional. They are some shortcomings for sure but most all will be resolved very soon and the team continues to hammer out fixes and improvements every week making it worth an app that requires a subscription. Not being able to yet import all my years of data from my previous app and no timetable on when that important feature will be added is my only challenge, but so long as it is coming eventually, fully recommend this app for those with existing plans but want the best in class tool to execute them, or for those who want a science backed program generated for them with lots of abilities to customize now, and even more in the future.

Balanced and beautiful, but hard to customize. I’ve been using the nutrition app for over a year now, and I am a big fan of the app’s design, intuitive interface, and the wealth of data and insights it gives. The same is true of the workout app. Using the app while working out is great. The instructional visuals are so helpful for exercises I’m unfamiliar with, and I’ve yet to run into an exercise that isn’t in the database already, no matter how obscure. My big gripe and the reason I knocked off a star is if you don’t want to follow the program suggested by the app, and instead log workouts from your own pre-existing program, there doesn’t seem to be a way plug that in. It’s a great experience if you’re willing to let it do the driving, but if you want to do your own programming the app doesn’t make room for that. It also takes a few steps to view the most recently completed workout (if it’s not one that’s in the plan). I’m going to keep testing out the app to see if I can make it work for me, but for what I use a workout logging app for (inputting my program, viewing my last workout to make note of progression or tweaks) I’m having a hard time with it

Best Workout App!. Right at launch, this is the best workout or fitness app I have ever tried! Hands down. The app is very intuitive to set up, I like how the workouts adapt as you go based on weights and RIR. Three days in and I can already tell this will be one of my most-used apps in 2026. Some feedback for the developers: I find the notes for each exercise to be too long. When I am at the gym trying to keep rest periods to a minimum, I don’t have time to read all of the notes to learn a new exercise. The videos of Jeff are extremely helpful (A+ for the 3 angles), so I rely on the notes mostly for exercises without video. I also have found that despite a very extensive database of exercises, it seems to be missing some basic ones (like simple dips, but not on a machine). Perhaps they are in there and I am not searching the right terms? And finally, perhaps to come in a 2.0 version, but I wish this included some basic cardio tracking. I don’t need anything fancy, but if I spend an hour on the bike after lifting, it would be nice if the app could take this into account to track muscles used. But overall bravo. Really this is a 4.5/5 review.

Needs a few tweaks. Better than other weight lifting apps i tried. I have two other “premium” apps. Though, it does some more options, such as dynamically adjusting workouts. Some weeks i have more free time, would he great if i could have an option to automatically have my workouts tweaked with a new day open. Unless that feature is there and I’m not finding it. Also would be great if we had an option if we want to prioritize certain heavy lifts. Would also be cool if the ai coach could identify muscle imbalances and can suggest to the user if we want to focus on our imbalances.

Pretty Good Workout App. I’ve used several other workout apps over the last several years and this is one of the better ones. It has all the right things. I really like the plan it made, there are good high quality videos showing how to do the exercise from multiple angles, and I like that I can make edits to the plan for exercises I prefer. I’ve only experienced a few things like glitches because it’s so new. It asked what equipment I have but it tells me to use a weight it acknowledges I don’t have - like 22.5 lbs but in the equipment log it shows I only have 20 & 25. The timer settings say it’s supposed to make a sound when time is up but it doesn’t. I’m sure these glitches will be fixed in some updates soon. I’ve been using MacroFactor for years now to track my calories so I’m currently getting this for free but I’ll gladly pay for it in the future.

Almost perfect. If I could give a 4 1/2 I would, this app is almost perfect. The only thing that has held me back from a 5 star is just a few things. 1. This app kind of just expects you to understand the fitness world and lingo. I don’t. I didn’t know what RIR meant, so I’ve had to figure something’s out I wish it either explained or if it did, explained better. 2. As you work out and put in your sets it will adjust the reps and weights it wants or recommends you lift, the only issue with this is that it’ll sometimes recommend weights I don’t have, and the app ask you what weights you have. So for example if I do a dumbbell curl for 30 pounds it may suggest my next set be 27.5 pounds, I do not have that kind of dumbbell and I’m not experienced enough to know how to adjust that. I hope in the future it can know what weights you have available and consider that when making adjustments 3. The last thing is that because I am not experienced I do not know all the work outs, it’s recommended me work out it doesn’t have videos of her. I’m sure the app is going to work on doing that across the board and will be fixed. But as of right now having it tell me to do a work out I’ve never done and not being able to show me how to do it is inconvenient. Overall it’s great and if you’re someone who is experienced and understands all the lingo, this app will probably be a 5/5 but as a rookie, it took some adjusting

Initial thoughts. Developers/SBS idea people - I think this is an extremely detailed app with a lot of great features and information (s/o Jeff for recording all of the videos). Currently giving this 3 stars but will edit this review as time passes. Obviously take this with a grain of salt as this is one man’s opinion and there are my first impressions as I am still getting comfortable with the app. Priority 1 improvements: 1a - Iphone lock screen / “island” compatibility. Having the ability to see what movement you are on without having to toggle the “always on function” seems like a no brainer. I imagine this is coming in future updates. 1b - The UI in workouts feels a little clunky. I think having the videos up top is the main cause. This is a great feature generally but it would be nice to be able to toggle to a “condensed mode” similar to your ability to “optimize for detail or optimize for speed” / remove untracked hours in the diet app. The other general thing contributing to the “clunky feeling” is that workout edits and swiping to the next workout use the same gesture. For example if I’m swiping through the workouts there is a greater than 0 chance I swipe on a set and the red edit button pops up. All that to say if you implement a “condensed mode” having it scroll vertically might be a good move. Priority 2 improvements: - L/R should be a feature you can put in to the workout plan not just when you start a workout. If I’m doing a single arm lat pull down I will always want a L/R split. - There are WAY too many exercises not to have search functions for all of the places that you have to scroll. Dashboard customization become difficult when I have to scroll through all the exercises - On the swap exercise in workout, it would be cool to have the video function / info function still work. Nothing worse than swapping an exercise and realizing it was the wrong one because the name is similar to another or I was incorrect in choosing.

One of the best lifting apps!. My original review had some features at launch that weren’t there. The MF team doesn’t disappoint in regard to continuously adding features. Im coming from using “strong” for ~4+ years — and I can confidently say MF Workouts is one of the best apps there is for lifting. 🔥 1. More splits — PPL, 5-day ULPPL, etc. *** UPDATE: MF team has confirmed PPL & UL-PPL 😊 2. Cardio? *** UPDATE: they added basic cardio functions!! 3. Would like this to track in apple health for a workout. *** UPDATE: done!

Complicated UI and Auto changes reps and weight in the middle of a workout.. The app auto generating a workout plan is a neat feature, but I didn’t use it after seeing how it was structured. I had to make my own which is complicated with how the UI is. One gripe I had is not having the app save the amount of sets per exercise. For example, I have two leg days a week. I had to individually put the amount of sets and min. and max. On both instead of editing one and it updating both exercises. Another problem is when I am in the middle of my workout and I enter in my first exercises weight and reps and it auto updates the rest of the sets. It’s frustrating, why would I go 100 pounds 8 reps on chest fly, to 100 pounds 6 reps and then on my final set 90 pounds 10 reps. I’m new to working out so I may be missing something but it’s frustrating.

Like it, needs work. I was very excited for this app, but it doesn’t integrate other programs the Jeff Nippard offers. Any time I try to set up a suggested program, it offers only full body or UL. That has me disappointed as I was very hopeful there would be more options. Also some exercises I use frequently or want to use as a substitute do have the video demo. I do run my own program and like the features it has from sessions to session, such as the suggested weight and reps. I will continue to use this since it’s included with the MacroFactor subscription, but I am hopeful some improvements can be made. I do believe this app has promise.

10/10. I’m just getting back into working out after 3 years off and with limited equipment available to me I find this app extremely easy because you can select the things you have available and it gives you workouts that you can do with that. Also the exercise selection is very good and intuitive to swap out for anything else that can also hit the muscles you want. Love it!

It isn’t very complete yet. It’s a decent app, but if it were not included for free in the promotional bundle, I wouldn’t pay for it. The program builder will not be of much aid to someone unless they are an absolute beginner and have no idea what to do, and that type of person is unlikely to be interested in a gym tracker. The other features of the program are also not very refined yet. I don’t quite recommend it yet. I will update it if/when the app improves and gets updated

Feature requests- this app is great!. I love this app so far, although the learning curve can be a bit steep. I would like it to be able to add exercise notes from my into each exercises. So far I can only have note exercise exercises whether it’s the notes for the session or it’s for the exercise in general while I’m training. And after I’m done with the program, I can’t add any more exercise if I suddenly decided to train something additional. Would it be possible to add these features in? Thank you.

Favourite workout app so far. Honestly it’s great to see an app that appeals so well to both beginner and advanced lifters. Personally I like to design my own workouts and I really appreciate how comprehensive the setup is for this app is. Initially it can be overwhelming but it does give you the option to setup equipment and such during a workout which means you can gradually work away during rest times etc. Moving from a competitor company to here has been great to see what I’ve been missing. The progressive overload algorithm is great and I imagine will constantly be improving over time. Looking forward to seeing what the devs come up with next.

Best workout tracker around. I’ve tried other workout tracker apps, I’ve run many different lifting programs, and done my own programming with spreadsheets. I’ve been using MacroFactor Workouts since beta and it’s honestly the best approach I’ve used in 5+ years of lifting. Well polished user experience, amazing exercise selection, the most detailed exercise info and instructions I’ve seen + instructional videos from multiple angles to get form locked in on new exercises. My favourite aspect of the app is the smart but beautifully simple approach for managing load and maintaining relative intensity to match your capacity. I’m always able to push myself to the same extent irrespective of whether I’m over worked and under slept, or lifting on cloud 9. Expectations for the session always feel realistic and workouts always feel productive.

Best Workout Tracker but missing some features. So far its the best workout tracker ive used. Not only does it offer smart programming, but you can track per side for unilateral exercises, add what equipment you have available, user friendly interface to track everything and much more. However I’m missing the apple watch app and live lockscreen widget I had when i used Hevy previously, though this is planned according to their roadmap. I also miss the live HR synched to my apple watch from Hevy which I used instead of rest timers, this is not planned. Rate 9/10

Best-in-class training app. MacroFactor Workouts is genuinely class-leading in both power and flexibility. The design is excellent - clean, intentional, and clearly built with meticulous attention to detail. The smart progression is the standout for me. It makes choosing weights and reps dramatically easier, removes second-guessing, and keeps progression honest without killing autonomy. Mesocycles are built right in, which is huge if you care about structured training done properly. Since switching, my workouts are faster, more focused, and I hit a much better sense of flow - less admin, more lifting. There is a learning curve, but it’s 100% worth it. Once it clicks, it’s hard to imagine going back.

Nothing but the best!. Everything you would expect from the makers of MacroFactor. The best there is. It just needs an Apple Watch companion app! 🙏⌚️

Like having a coach. Really like having a personal coach, I didn’t expect so much information when clicking the “info” button on each exercise, I’ve been training on my own for a while now but realised my form was off for a lot of exercises, watching Jeff’s tutorials and reading all the information put in is priceless. Thanks!

The Gold Standard of Training Apps. As a dedicated user of the MacroFactor app since late 2021, I’ve watched that team consistently raise the bar for what fitness software should look like. I had high expectations for this workout app, and Jeff Nippard and the team have absolutely nailed it. The "science-based" polish I’ve come to love is present in every pixel. From Google Sheets to High-Tech Efficiency I’ve been running Jeff’s programs via Google Sheets for years, and while the spreadsheets work, the app is a total game-changer. I’ve been using it for a week now, and the efficiency and effectiveness of my sessions have skyrocketed. No more fumbling with cells or manual tracking; the interface is incredibly intuitive and stays out of your way so you can focus on the lift. Unrivalled Form Cues The standout feature for me is the exercise library. The video tutorials are recorded from three different angles, and the ability to switch between them simultaneously is fantastic. It’s the closest thing to having a world-class coach standing right next to you to ensure your technique and form are spot-on. Top-Tier Support Beyond the tech, the support team is responsive and clearly cares about the user experience—much like the MacroFactor crew. It’s polished, easy to use, and clearly built by people who actually train. If you’re serious about your progress, this is the only training app you need.

10/10 forces you to train hard. 10/10. it’s so much simpler in the gym having the app tell you what you should be lifting. It’s already got me working harder and lifting heavier than I did self-programming.

Incomplete. The app is good, the workout suggestion are similar to other app however, there video attach the each workout but only 70% of the work out have video, the 12 exercise that suggest to me only 8 have video to show how it work, other 4 is completely text.

Exactly what I needed. App is exactly what I needed. Def worth the wait. For future updates it would be great to have a live activity and some more demo videos added. Keep up the great work 💪🏼

Peak. You the goat Jeff

Amazing app.. After looking for so long i was gonna have to learn to code and make my own. Lucky stronger by science has my back…Maybe colour label the special sets. Its easy to overlook. And The increments on some machine gym equipment is weird like +4.31 kg

Best of best. One of the best app, and I have been using MacroFactor app which was developed by the same company over 2 years. Now this app coupled with the Macrofactor is one of the best in the entire fitness industry. Great work! I’m am a great follower of Jeff’s work in this industry. Keep up the good work!

It’s trying to kill me, and I love it. I don’t know what it is about having this app but it makes me train harder, it’s like training with someone telling me to do more. I like the app, it’s good, good functionality, you can chop and change exercises, and it figures stuff out. There’s a few things it could do to improve but it just realised so I’m sure they’ll add all that stuff abit later

Fantastic workout app with one caveat. Incredible app. I am giving it 5 stars purely for the quality and ease of building and tracking workouts. As well as the detailed explanations for everything. That being said, the workout generation seems quite lacking for advanced athletes. I will continue using this app long term but if you’re a competitive strength athlete you will likely need to program compound lifts yourself.

Better than Fitbod. I switched from Fitbod paid membership to MacroFactor Workouts and I don't regret it. Reallay complete, need some improvements with apple watch and calorie tracking during workouts but it's fare better than Fitbod, I don't regret it.

Good. Great app that needs some improvements. Missed one workout week one because I was sick and now my weight suggestions even in week 4 for that workout are WAY off even though I’ve completed weeks 2 and 3 with accurate weight/rep count

The BEST workout tracker by far. This tracker is AMAZING I just tracked my first workout and I absolutely love it. I would give it a 9/10 just because there is some equipment where it doesn’t support unilateral (pec fly, plate loaded shoulder press) but it’s not that deep, other than that I don’t see any flaws yet. I love the layout, the rest timer and total timer, the rir tracking, the look/feel, everything is so exactly what I was hoping for and better, and it’ll probably only get better.

Outstanding.. Devs are super responsive. Auto progression is very accurate. Still needs some ui and use-ability tweaking, Apple Watch app is sorely missed and better Apple health integration needed. Overall this app is awesome and is likely to remain my go-to moving forward.

Need ls widgets!. App has great depth and sky-high potential! UI may be a bit more intense/convoluted for a casual lifter, but this is perfect for someone with lifting experience looking to track their lifts. The only thing missing are widgets! I already use MacroFactor for tracking my macros and calories, but the one addition that would push me over the edge to switch from Hevy for tracking my workouts is the addition of widgets. I like having a quick visual reminder on my homescreen of my consistency and progress.

Really nice app, could use more machines. I just want the app to include more Pannata machines that I use on a daily basis like plate loaded rows, seated plate loaded decline bench, super french press, converging smith machines etc.

Motivating!. I was part of the beta testing for this app and I’m so excited to see the improvements week by week! I’m a 60F who has been lifting via YouTube content for the past year at my home gym. I love this app as it is offering me new exercises based on the equipment I have access to and, most importantly, it is pushing me beyond my comfort zone. Seeing the results as I put in the work. Can’t wait to see what this body is capable of a year from now. Thank you so so much MF team!

Apps should never cost this much. I need another $100/yr subscription on my life like I need a hole in the head. No thanks. Plenty of cheaper apps that I can track my workouts with. 💪 No app should cost $100 every single year.

Cost. Would make sense to just buy an app like this for a low cost once!

Amazing workout app. Been working out consistently for over 2 years with fitbod and switched to this app when it came out im on my second week of my program and just got the biggest upper chest pump (problem area for me) of my life 10/10 can't wait for apple watch support to come and more integration with their food tracking app tons of helpful tools that help you optimize your lift too cuts out 95% of the guess work

Even better than expected. Seems like every day I find a new feature that surprises me with how thoughtful, practical and effective it is. Bravo!

Best app. App is good for tracking workouts and if you already pay for MacroFactor you get MacroFactor Workouts free

Support for more workout splits. Love the app overall — it’s been great to use. One area that feels a bit lacking is workout splits. It would be awesome to see more options like PPL, PPLUL, and even classic bro splits etc. Also, adding small notes or tooltips explaining how different data and features influence workout recommendations (especially in relation to MacroFactor) would be really helpful. Aside from that, the app has been excellent.

This will kill all other applications. Just try it for an hour and I found that the application has already more than any other applications I tried. I used Hevy since two months now and everything I was missing is already included in MacroFactor. Really solid work!

Honest review. Honestly I was a bit sceptic at first but first week using it, it is a game changer. I have been lifting for about 9 years and with coaches. I’ve done it pretty much all but was getting tired of the same things so it was boring (did CrossFit, powerlifting and Hypertrophy) But this, this is it. Discovered new exercises. Worth the price, takes time to set up but honestly the most complete app ever. There are videos for example, you can swap exercise, my sister has it too and our workout aren’t the same so… I Also have the MacroFactor love the both.

Worth the wait. I heard a while ago that MacroFactor were working on a workout app, and I was instantly excited. I’ve been using their other app for years, and working out with Jeff Nippard’s programs for a similar amount of time. This seemed like a match made in heaven. It mostly lives up to that expectation. The app is wonderfully simple, with plenty of other features under the hood. It’s still early days, so there are a few things that will be worked on and added (Apple Health integration, watch app, a working notification sound etc), but otherwise this app is what I’ve been looking for. I used Hevy for the last couple of years, and Fitbod before that, and using this for the last few weeks I’ve pushed myself harder than ever. The app has a fantastic smart progression feature, and it suggests weights and reps that before I wouldn’t have thought of on the other apps. It also makes it incredibly easy to import Jeff’s programs, and as I bought a few of them over the last few years, this has been delightful. No more tedious manual creation in Hevy! (It just needs to add a couple more of the exercises that are in Jeff’s programs.)

Great workout app. I’ve tried many different workout apps but none are as complete and comprehensive as this one. I’ve always struggled to find apps that include all exercises and this one does exactly that. The automatic warm up sets, progressive overload, and rest times are my favourite features. I 100% recommend this, especially paired with the MacroFactor macro tracker app, for anyone looking to get serious in the gym.

Little overwhelmed!. I know the app is so worth it and happy to pay for it to include my diet as well. But as an above beginner in the gym the app is initially overwhelming to set up for gym equipment at GoodLife and tricky to pick the equipment as the pictures are too small. I’m working my way through a routine to get the hang of it. Definitely built for the advanced gym rat! I will get there. 5 stars when it becomes a little more dumbed down for the average user to understand haha Also since I’m taking pictures in MacroFactor for eating I wish those populated over. I don’t want to take twice.

High Potential. Through beta testing the developers were taking all the feedback in stride and the app is progressing at an incredible rate. My biggest Pros - Partial reps are amazing - lots of exercises and can create your own - Auto progression is pretty accurate - Can check off the workouts in your program like a checklist to keep track - Detailed instructions and videos for every exercise - Detailed metrics for each exercise and body part My biggest Cons - AI program Creater is not good for intermediate to advanced lifters (Yet) - I don’t fully agree with some of the primary muscle groups for the exercises - Failure sets auto Progression can sometimes be weird but will probably be fixed soon. - No set Records as of now There is tons of potential in its connection with Macrofactor. And how fast it is improving in sure all the cons I listed will be solved super fast. I am personally excited to see what they do next.

Highly recommended!. This app is beautifully designed with progress in mind! Everything about it is tailored to making sure your personal fitness progress is easily trackable and consistent. The import workout program feature is one of my favourite features! Thank you for another incredible app MacroFactor team!

The best out there. I’ve tried dozens of apps and programs. Nothing has compared to this. I usually always feel like something is annoying or not intuitive. This app, along with the programming is the best out there. I have zero reason to keep searching. Bravo!

Huge potential but it’s still so fresh. MFW is easily the most promising workout app I’ve ever tried. I’ll likely buy the yearly subscription and hope that the missing features I really need for quality of life will get added soon and if they do I’ll revise my review to 5 stars

Incredibly clunky app. Many bizarre design decisions that are not intuitive at all. Very easy to just permanently delete your workout plan while you try to move things around. Hopefully it gets better soon because wow

Needs an Apple Watch App. Just started using, looks like a great app but is lacking the Apple Watch app. Leaving 4 stars to attract attention from the developers

Feels like an extension of my brain. A truly remarkable tool to track progress and streamline progressive overload. It has pushed me to complete longer workouts and be more consistent.

Thankx. I will simply say thank you . App made my workout easier and effective .

Best tracker out there. I see some reviews complain about the price. Considering this adds a lot more than just tracking, the price is justifiable. The app has the best charting for progress, smart progression built in even if you choose to write your own programs, and offers generated programming based on your goals that most beginners and intermediates will be happy with. Not to mention, if you’re already using the best nutrition app out there (MacroFactor), the bundle for both makes this app one of the cheapest workout trackers in the App Store. And it’ll only get better just like the nutrition app have proven to since launch!

Mostly Solid. Mostly solid app with a TON of potential, but some major annoyances and bugs that need to be worked out or else I'll revert back to spreadsheets. Biggest annoyances are not being able to refer to heavy sets on a certain exercise differently than lighter sets of the same exercise a different day of the week. History and automation gets all messed up. This requires I dig into the history every time which is not a quick flow, and I need to pass through the workout demonstration on the way there... which pauses my music -_- My other major annoyance is having notifications and especially rest time chimes not able to be turned off. Even if I've turned them off in the iphone notifications, and in the WO app settings, still chimes. Even if I turned off rest timer altogether, there is still a chime that plays. This seems new this past week so I'm guessing it's a temporary bug. All of my other annoyances are things I imagine will be sorted out as things get developed. All in all, a very promising app and I look forward to its future. The MF team and developers have done a stunning job overall, and my critiques are purely in hopes of continuous improvement. I appreciate what must have been insanely hard work. Thanks!

More workout splits. Can you add push pull legs on your app please. Personally I only got 3 consecutive day that I can workout in most week and upper lower feel like not enough

Needs improvement. I really want to live this app, I use the Macrofactor app and i feel this should be just as good, unfortunately it falls short with only 2 different kinds of split workout formats. It also falls short for someone who is on the road and has access to a commercial gym one day and only dumbbells the next. This needs away to easily transition from a full gym one day to only dumbbells the next and unfortunately I haven’t found a way to do that

Very much still in beta. I have used MacroFactor from the beginning but this is half baked on release. So many usability issues from the offset. I really hope they move fast Progressive algorithm is so off I dono how this ever slip through QA. Needs to have a commonly used exercises filter instead of scrolling through hundreds of exercises that look very similar. Easy swap between frequently swapped exercises for different gyms or when equipment is occupied. Needs clearer on-boarding or video series. The list goes on… this should at least have a month free trial as it’s not fully polished yet and still find myself returning the hevy after 3 weeks. Note I’m a paid member.

Fired Up!. Best thing to happen to fitness in a LONG time!

This is something great and different. We all need our personal trainer… in our pocket Great system, selection, and video instructions which are unbeatable

Brilliant. The long awaited companion workout app to MacroFactor is finally here! I have been using the app since the official launch, after sadly missing the cap for the beta :( but the wait was worth it! I love the simplicity of the interface, minutes to create a workout and get started, seamless integration with MacroFactor (nutrition). Fabulous addition to my fitness ecosystem 💖

Great app!. I was selected for the beta testing of MacroFactor Workouts, and I’m extremely satisfied with the experience. The progressive guidance is clear, intuitive, and actually adapts to your needs and performance over time, which makes training feel personalized instead of generic. One of the best features is the exercise library—there are videos for almost every movement, which makes it easy to learn proper form and stay confident during workouts. Since it integrates seamlessly with MacroFactor, it’s a perfect add-on for anyone already using the app. Nutrition + training in one ecosystem is a game-changer. Highly recommended!

Needs work. This app has so many bugs. It’s pretty frustrating given the cost. Big fan of his calorie tracker but this one is just full of issues. Great potential but not there yet, especially for the cost.

Lean and Clean. What an epic addition to MacroFactor. Will be converting a few different workout regimes into this app to properly track gains this year. No more excel spreadsheet!!

Overwhelming. I love Jeff, what he represents in the fitness industry and everything he stands for, I have followed him for years, science based lifting it’s awesome… BUT this app even for someone that has been training for over 5 years felt a little overwhelming, DEF will not recommend for new lifters or people that don’t know what ROM or TOT means…

Just ridiculously good. If you have been creating your own programming or feel like you’ve plateaued, this app will break you through. It’s so clear that the people behind this app live and breathe lifting, fitness, and progress. It’s just as good as the diet app. Can’t say enough good things about it.

Doesn’t Work with Tonal. I’m a devout MacroFactor user (every meal, every day), so I downloaded this app and carefully went through the entire setup process to see if it would work for me. Unfortunately, it does not because I lift exclusively at home on Tonal (computerized cable machine). However, I also found the setup process to a bit half-baked. For example, when editing dumbbell/kettlebell there is no way to deselect all, instead of individually unchecking each weight). Plus, the list of selectable equipment is missing a functional trainer!?! Lastly, after completing the setup, I found the workout screens to be non-intuitive/cumbersome. To be fair, this could be because I’m simply so accustomed to Tonal’s interface. Bottom line: it’s not for me—at least, not yet—but maybe it will be helpful to anyone who currently uses paper- or app-based handwritten notes for workouts.

Changed my health and my life. This app changed how I approached my training and how I treat my body. Not only can I add my physical therapy movements in here but I can also train to meet my strength goals. All in all, this app kind of changed my life and has only improved my quality of life. Thank you Jeff and the MacroFactor team! I appreciate you creating an app that will hopefully keep changing dozens of people's lives.

By far the best. I’ve been loving the program I’m on for the past three weeks with this app after lifting for years both on my own and with a coach. Having already had MacroFactor I just jumped right into this app and I’m never looking back. I can feel myself getting better already. It’s helped me break out of a training rut I’ve been in and helped me see the value of the equipment my gym has in a new light.

Best workout app. This app has been awesome so far. Switched from Fitbod which is still a great app but using WOs is helping me progressive overload, and I love the real time coaching updates as you finish each set. It learns and adjusts on the fly and I feel like I’m making better gains the short time I’ve been using it in beta and in full release. It ties in perfectly with the nutrition app as well.

Just what I’ve been waiting for. I’ve been hoping for a macrofactor workout app since the nutrition app launched and was an intuitive and great experience from the beginning. No different here for the workout app, I very much enjoy the level of detail they put into the generated programs and the ability for you to customize it to your liking and based off of the available equipment in your gym.

Woah!. Literally the workout app I’ve been waiting for! Ease of use. Clear instructions. Step by step video guides & a full blown FAQ. What more could you want? I love that I can import my Nippard workouts into the app. Hopefully the full library will soon be made importable once you’ve purchased. Can’t wait to see how this app grows in the future!

Amazing but one problem. Amazing app. The best I have ever used except one integration issue: it does not seem to record my workout to Apple Fitness. To record my workout I have to start a workout on my watch while using this app then stop the workout when I’m done. Several other apps automatically record your workout in Apple Fitness.

Making gains!. Love the dynamic reps and RIR. I’m making more progress in the past few weeks of using the app than I have in the past few months following a basic program using a different app. Knowing it’s fairly new I’m sure they’ll make more improvements, but top of mind is having an exercise match the program setup and variability if it was added manually. Nice work overall!

BS Squat Video please. Hey Jeff and team, Great job on this app. Looking forward to more video exercises. I do Dumbbell Bulgarian split squats. I’d like to see you add a video with them and this could be a feature where you have two versions 1. With more knee flexion for quads and 2. With lead foot further out for glutes. Also I think you should rename it to Bulgarian Split Squat (more recognizable) over its current name in the app “Elevated rear leg split squats”.

So far, so awesome. I’m 48, have been working with free weights again for the first time in a long time. Been working out about a year with so-so results just doing what I think is right. Two workouts with this app, one upper, one lower, holy crow I’m sore in the best way. App has me doing exercises I would never consider, is customizable to what equipment you have access to and is easy to use.

Best Workout Friend!. Just completed my first six week program and I am eager to start the next one! This is the first time in my life that I’ve worked out consistently for 6 in a row because this app made it very easy to integrate into my daily routine. The app makes it easy to swap one particular upper body/arm exercise for another on days that my injured shoulder is experiencing increased inflammation.

Beginner-Friendly Platform with Room to Grow. I hope additional machines will be added to the exercise library, as the limited selection made it challenging to import my program from another tracking app. While the platform is well-suited for beginners, more experienced lifters should be cautious—particularly those who rely on less common equipment such as the lever incline fly, which is currently unavailable.

Happy so far. Happy in general so far. I think the explanations are too verbose tho. Maybe have the high level overview of the exercise and then allow the user to tap a chevron to find more info on a particular section. Im trying to filter out most of the info a lot of times. For example the eccentric calf raise gave several different examples of what to use for a step. Seems unnecessary

Almost perfect!. Switched from Strong after 5 years. The rep expectations are spot on and the program generation is super easy. I also love how easy it is to switch exercises when traveling and hotel gyms don’t have my home gym equipment. My only request is that it have an Apple Watch app to make it easy to check reps/weights before a set and mark a set as done.

Keep Improving. Coming from a workout tracking app, it takes some getting used to. This is not a workout tracker but an all-in-one coach that actively modifies your reps and weights to prioritize your gains. It’s fantastic but sometimes difficult to remember to do what it says, rather than what you’re capable of. It just needs smart watch integration, badly. They also need to continue updating the available machines/workouts with Nippard demonstrations.

Amazing!!!. Another fantastic app from the folks at MacroFactor. They led the industry in food tracking and now they will lead in workout tracking. I was a part of the Beta program and the developers are extremely helpful, professional, and responsive. I can’t wait to see how powerful this app will become in the coming months and that is in spite of it already surpassing most every other option out there.

Strong Start. Takes all the mystery out of programming and progression, has a huge library of exercises, customizable gyms and a beautiful interface. They came out the gate strong with this one. I look forward to the updates as they make their way down the roadmap.

Great app for first release. Definitely need to update updates. It’s a pretty good app. The only thing it really needs is an Apple Watch companion app. It doesn’t even have to be a full out, standalone Watch app I just wanted it to be able to track how many calories burnt and how long I was working out for. The only other feature I think would makes this app better is adding a search function to find exercises I’ve completed easier. That would be better than scrolling thru all the exercise I have done

It’s iffy. The app works mostly fine, it provides a wide variety of exercises and videos and how to do most of them, as well as what on plates to put on the bar, and warmup sets, however I find it annoying that it doesn’t tell you how much weight and for how many’s reps you have done in the previous session if you create your own program, as well as no way to see what weight you did in like a graph or something it only shows your 1rep max calculated from the weight and reps you completed.

Best Tracker. I used to use the notes app to track my workouts and it can get super messy with so may numbers. I love that all I have to do is log down what I’m doing here and it will do the rest for me. Makes lifting a lot easier and it’ll help me actually get stronger and not do the same weight every week

Best workout app I’ve used. Tracks almost anything a serious lifter could want. Great videos and info on each exercise. Smart substitutions. And if you’ve ever bought Jeff Nippard’s programs in the past, they plug seamlessly into the app. I’m using the Bodybuilding Transformation System and loving it!

Great!. I like everything about this app. I’ve been weight lifting for about 6 years, and I’m a little older. For me, the auto progression combined with RIR is perfect. I will say it took me a few workouts to learn the lay of the land, but pretty easy for the most part and I think is to be expected. I have also used most of the weight training apps in the App Store for comparison.

Great for Flexibility and Self Accountability. I really like how it spits out a custom workout, which can be customized. Don’t like good mornings? Sub it out for lunges. Fair pricing for the six month and longer subs. Helps me ensure I don’t sell myself short on the workouts because I like to think Jeff is checking my results every day!

Lacking Functionality with Manually Created Programs. Had a lot of great features. Unfortunately, it lacks the one feature that is important to me: while it will automatically adjust weight or rep goals, it doesn’t yet have the ability to automatically adjust RIR or number of sets for exercises in manually created programs.

Gains for Daysss. I’ve tried so many workout apps that take the thinking out of my workouts for me. This one is *chefs kiss*, because not only does it coach you for the weights you do to improve, but also integrates the ability to make different gym profiles, weight trends, make your own workouts. And the explanations of the exercises are top-tier!! Multiple angles of video to make sure form is perfect. Can’t recommend this app enough. Jeff is the GOAT.

A great app. Was going to the gym for a while but had no direction. Been using this app for many months now and it’s great, it automatically does progression and has a ton of workouts. Not buggy at all and easy enough to understand after you use it for a bit. Have definitely noticed an improvement in my all around physical fitness. The yearly pro upgrade is worth it for me

Best Workouts App Ever!!. I’ve used a lot of different apps before to track my workouts and progress. I tried MacroFactor Workouts for the first time and it has already been better than all the other apps I’ve tried. Works great for any experience level. It adapts to where you are at now and is super user friendly for any gym environment. Would highly highly recommend to anyone and everyone!

Fantastic app. I’m a long time lifter (greater than 10 years). I’ve done everything from marathons, powerlifting, crossfit. For a conventional strength and hyper trophy app, this one knocks it out of the park. The smart programming makes it easy to have a plan for your week and every workout.

Great improvements needed. Great start and appreciate the deal when bundled with the nutrition app. I understand that it is new and other features are being built out but would love to see live activities and Apple Watch support added eventually. Also more insight into why a program was selected and programmed a certain way.

Very complex even for experienced lifters. Man I love macro factor but I’m here trying to put in my own current workout in the app to track progressive overload and I think the feature of “comercial gym” or “what equipment your gym has” is so annoying, just give me the whole library of exercises, I’ve been trying to look for specific exercises and I can’t find them, then I see feature about range of motion “this and that” I think is overwhelmingly and unnecessarily complicated

Great from the get-go. I got to beta test this app and while they were working to fix small bugs here and there, the layout is intuitive and highly customizable for the intermediate to advance gym-goers and bodybuilders out there. The smart progression targets are great and keep me motivated to push harder to hit my goals. It’s great and I’m confident it will only get better with time!

Best workout app ever. Been a user of other workout apps for a couple of years now, as well as MacroFactor. I have to say you guys really crushed it with this one. Excellent execution all around, which shows every time I discover a little detail/customization I had not noticed before. I’m sure it’s in your roadmap, but an Apple Watch app to control the session would make it perfect. Thank you!!

Nearly Perfect. Absolutely love this app. It has everything I need when it comes to gym math, building workouts, and tracking muscle groups. The only thing I wish it had is integration to Strava. I can’t even get my workouts to show up on my Health app to then integrate into Strava. Would love an update for that.

Amazing. I’ve been lifting around 5-6 times a week for more than 20 years. For breaking up monotony and busting plateaus - this app has been excellent. I’m dropping the multi-decade bro-split and trying new exercises without the need to overthink and plan before every workout. The ability to craft supersets/circuits as well swapping in alts is top notch. It’s an incredibly well designed app. Can’t imagine how nice this would be for new lifters.

Been using this app for a week now. I have been using this app for a week now. I was eagerly waiting for them to launch this app as soon as Jeff talked about it. When they launched this app, this app exceeded my expectations tbh. The new AI for progressive overload every week is my favorite part. I hope they bring out challenges as well.

Workout app. I have been going to the gym for around 4 years now and i really felt like my workouts were getting stale and repetitive. this app is helping keep things fresh and helping me push past the plateau that i have hit. I do think that more machines can be added such as incline chest press (the actual machine) but other then some minor adjustments i think it’s a really good app

The standard has arrived. I have never seen such an incredible community around an app. It’s just amazing to see everyone coming together to share there love of lifting and progressing. I used this app during the beta and it had a few quirks that were smoothed out now on launch everything is running great. I love the app more by the day incredible job guys!!

Great app - Still early. Amazing app (I’ve been using MacroFactor a long time and this is just as good). Love the auto progression and RiR system. It is missing a few things I’d consider essential though - namely Apple Watch tracking (or any Apple watch version at all) and a live activity on iOS to show workout progress.

Great program. I’ve really enjoyed the first several weeks working out with this program. Take the guest work out of progressions and timings of sets and reps, loading workouts and equipment for a home gym or a breeze, including specialized movements and equipment. Was very close to giving this five stars, but I do wish there was the option to load weak points and indicate injuries and illnesses at a high level.

Amazing depth, but still easy to use. I’m only 2 workouts into this app, but I’m really impressed with the level of customization it allows while remaining easy to set up and use. I also love how it can adjust the weight and reps set to set if needed based on my inputs.

Great companion to Macrofactor diet app. A great companion to Macrofactor diet. Easy to use, quick to add workouts and good customization. What I like most is that it scales well to training level, where a new trainee has resources like video tutorials and an advanced trainee has access to RPE info. Been training for ~9 years and it’s better than pen and paper and phone notepad in a low-interference way that I like

I think I’m in love with Jeff. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a fitness nerd like me, you’ll love this app. First impressions: impressive interface. It’s easy to use and has a wide exercise selection. It will automatically create a routine for you, or you can make a completely customized one yourself. It tracks everything from reps in reserve to last set intensity technique (drop set, failure, etc.). The color coding is also an exquisite touch (points for design!). I was able to transfer my custom program to the app with impressive ease. The interface and flow of use is great. Jeff, if you weren’t single, I’d ask you to a gym date (no homo). Great app!

So Cool. This app is the Best! I’ve been using MacroFactor nutrition tracking for years and their science based algorithms and recommendations are top notch. Now with advances in AI (while still Totally science based) this workout app is AMAZING! The recommendations, the inter-set adjustments, everything tailored to You, your goals, and your perceived exhaustion/difficulty level after each set: it’s amazing. First time lifting with RIR in mind and it’s been a game-changer

Falls Short of Competition. I have used several workout apps this one falls short of the competition. No Apple Watch integration - means I have to carry my phone around in the gym. Also means heart rate is not tracked so Apple Health data is incomplete. Also cannot import workout/exercise history from other apps. Not an issue for beginners. But those of us with tons of lifting behind us don’t want to start over on our progress or PRs. I also certainly do not need confetti cannons going off every time I complete a set. These little celebrations are a distraction and aren’t helping anyone lift.

After searching for forever, finally found a solution. Great app, allows me to do everything I can in an excel spreadsheet. Super customizable, letting me plan out an entire mesocycle with ease. I would like to see improvement in the data though. For example, show me a log of my workout lengths

Amazing app — language is the only barrier. Excellent app — the best for workouts and progress tracking. The features are very complete and really help you stay consistent and see results. However, as a Brazilian, I struggle a lot with the language. There’s no option for Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR). If you add PT-BR, this app will be absolutely perfect and will definitely reach many more people.

The only lifting app I’ve wanted to use. Making an app that satisfies everyone’s preferences for lifting can’t be easy, but this is the only lifting app I’ve felt inclined to use. The flexibility of the app is awesome and I’m sure the MF team will be launching improvements for the minor pains and problems the app has on launch. With the super generous pricing for existing Macrofactor subscribers (free for the first year) there’s nothing I can complain about.

Overall fine. Decent workout app but listed exercises for certain workouts aren’t too appealing like doing two tibialis anterior excesses in one workout while other groups are only hit once. Or doing two lower back extension exercises in one workout. Sometimes rep ranges seem nonsensical where it averages 11-13 ranges but then some exercises give a random 30 to 40 reps out of no where

Great concept. I love everything about the way this does its workout routines and I like the setup of individual gyms, and I love that all the workouts show Jeff Nippard doing them haha. BUT I need an Apple Watch companion app with the functionality to advance the workout. I record a lot of my workouts on my phone so the phone is usually away from me on my tripod. Add a companion app and I will re-download this for sure.
