Great app, needs a few upgrades. I really love how this app works for the most part. I don't have to remember everything my PT gives me, I don't even have to worry about counting because all exercises are set to a timer so I can just focus on doing it right. I love that it has the videos combined with the instructions and tips. My reason for 4 stars has to do specifically with not being able to focus on the exercises I want to in my program during each session. For example, if I'm not feeling good in my shoulder and I just want to skip to the hip exercises that day, i don't have any option on my end to uncheck the shoulder exercises before starting the program. Instead, I have to skip them to get to my hip exercises, but then it marks all the exercises as complete even though I didn't do the shoulder. I wish I could just pick the ones from my program that I want to do for now and just log those. It would help me and my PT to see what I'm doing more or less of. I'd also like the option to move exercises around in the order I want to do them. Sometimes it feels better to start with certain exercises than others, but again this is not an option. Add these features and I'll definitely give it 5 stars.
easy way to keep me on track with my exercises. I like this app a lot and I appreciate the easy to follow videos of the exercises that make it very clear what I should be doing. The reason for four stars is because I noticed it does not give me the full length of the exercise. I’m supposed to have five sets of 30 second holds with 5 to 10 seconds of rest in between each hold, but the timer only gives me two minutes for the entire exercise including the rests so it is cutting my exercise down by over 30 seconds and it’s too much hassle for me to pause the exercise and figure out how much I have left to do so I’m just cutting down my exercise from what I was told by the physician.
Needs to factor in both sides/uneven. Each activity needs to be done on each side to keep things even. This app doesn’t do that on its own. I have to manually get up and switch it and go back to do the other side between each exercise. And when it’s one that isn’t easy to get out of position to go grab my phone, it gets really annoying. The app has made improvements. It didn’t use to even give the time to do the exercise. Just showed what it was, said how many reps and then you would have to pause it to do and then get up, grab phone, go to the next and so on. So I’m really glad that got fixed. It’s halfway there. This one fix would make the world of difference in me using the app. In essence, for it to play like an exercise video you follow along with. That is my biggest pet peeve on some exercise videos that aren’t in real time essentially. I hope this makes sense. So it can play through, all reps equally without having to get up and change things between.
A chore to use, on top of my exercises already being one.. I use this app to keep track of what exercises I do and when, and it’s fine. Barely. I consider myself really good with tech, especially phone apps, but this is a nightmare to use. Half the time it won’t even log me in. I have a few different sets of exercises I’ve accumulated through my recovery, and switching between them is a pain. Almost always, when I try to log a different set, the exercises available to log are from the previous set I had pulled up. I have to close and reopen the app at least two times to not get the “An error has occurred” message. It wasn’t this broken last year when I first used it—sure the colors of the UI have changed, but that’s not worth it if it usually doesn’t work. If this app can’t handle switching between multiple sets of exercises & multiple codes, there shouldn’t be an option for it. It has somehow become more broken over the nine months I’ve used it, which I didn’t think was possible. Yes, I’ve rebooted my phone, reinstalled it, etc. It works—sometimes—which is why I’ve given it two stars and not one. But if my PT recommends I use this app, should I need it down the road, I will refuse to use it.
Ap is not at fault for lack of stars.. Probably, the biggest thing wrong with the app is the fact that I have not learned how to use it yet completely. I hope that it will be more comprehensive in the future. And I hope that I will actually learn how to use it effectively and provide feedback effectively and in a timely fashion. I have been significantly injured for most of the time that the app has appeared to me and limited and the number of exercises that I could perform at any given time. I wish I knew how to provide feedback that is unique to my situation. Maybe this is it. Chances are I’ll get better at this and future reviews will reflect improvement in the Therapy team of which I am the most failing part. Don’t give up on me thank you.
If only they could multiply. It seems that the app developers are not very good at arithmetic. The simple math of multiplying hold time and reps to yield the total duration of the exercise seems too complicated. I am intentionally being a bit obnoxious because of my frustration. There are two exercises in my list that have a 32nd hold duration and three reps and two different total exercise durations. One is 30 seconds when it should be 90 and another with the same metrics that has a duration of 48 seconds. I am also not sure if the application support some thing as basic as doing an exercise on your right side and then your left side and having the reps represent both right and left which would double the total duration of the exercise. I am using this app because my physical therapist uses it.
Loved this until recents errors. I have been using this app for six months & Have been very happy with it. Until recently, the last three or four days it has worked fine but all of a sudden every time I try to save my logged in exercises I get an error that says “oops! Please try again later”. I have tried it several times, over two days and nothing seems to work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app & still cannot get it to work. It does not show up in my list of apps needing updates. I’m writing this review in hopes that the developer will comment & give me a clue as to how to make this work. I googled the issue and I cannot find anything on this specific app. Update - Seems the errors have been fixed in the app has been working perfectly. It deserves five stars now.
Great but could tweak a bit. I really like the convenience of having this PT app. It is much better than the old school printed, static exercises. I especially like the instructional videos. Super helpful to remind me of what the movement looks like once I leave the office. One thing I would improve is to give both the therapist and patient the ability to move the order of exercises around to their preferences. I have some that require shoes on and other that are shoes off, so coordinating them together would be more convenient. Also, being able to group together exercises that focus on a certain area would be helpful. I asked my PT and she said she would have to start over and reload all my exercises in the exact order I want to see them to accomplish this. I didn’t want to hassle her for that. Seems like an easy fix.
App says I already completed exercises when I Didn’t!. For some reason the app works on an older model phone, but not on a newer model despite it being fully updated. Secondly every 7 days I get a message telling me I’m all caught up on the exercises, but hasn’t done them that day. The first time I figured the therapists didn’t want me to do it that day but I was told by them I should 7 days a week. Months later I decided to contact MedBridge. The agent lacked very easy comprehension and even told me they can’t even try to fix every issue and will take them as suggestions. She finally told the development tam but told me the next day they couldn’t replicate it. Of course not as it hadn’t been 7 days. She wouldn’t listen to that. A manager then told me I was condescending when it was the agent as well the manager that was as neither listens. He also told me they tried and couldn’t replicate it also ignoring that it hadn’t been 7 days so of course they couldn’t. I had to tell the therapists that I’m doing it 7 days regardless of what the app says. When I finish therapy with them I plan to keep doing exercises for my back, but will look for a better company as these people don’t listen and don’t want to fix the issue. They’ve proven to not care whatsoever.
Not very customizable or user friendly. My PT gave me exercises but he has to put in reps rather than time, which is clunky for me because if he has told me to do an exercise for 60 s but the reps only adds up to 20 s then I have to stop the program, put on a timer, finish the exercises. He says there’s no way to just input an amount of time. Also, the program randomly unchecked an exercise and moved it to the bottom of the program. Why? No idea. Finally, the “rest” time between exercises should be customizable. At 5 s, I don’t have enough time to switch to an exercise with different positioning and have to pause the program. It should be possible for the patient/user to change the amount of rest. In short, this is a great idea with great potential that is poorly executed. Making it more customizable and user friendly would go far.
Like and frustrating. I am pretty happy with this app. My current frustration is that sometimes the exercises are going too fast of a pace where I can’t adjust it. Along this line I need to do some exercises longer than is given I.e the pec stretch in doorway. My provider tried to change the length of time from 10 seconds to 30 That didn’t seem to work. Sometimes I need a longer break between different exercises to put on bands or change location and the stopping is a bit awkward. I could just stop and close to have a longer break. In some shoulder exercises it’s hard to tell when the person in the picture is moving. I often wish there could be an optional audio. I’d like to be able to know what to do by just listening so I could attend better to form in my body. The feedback information I can give my provider is limited. I’d like to tell her that I can’t do as many as she prescribed etc. on the other hand I don’t know if she really reads it anyway. These things would all really help. Thank you for this app. I am getting most of my exercises done with it.
Great app, but issues. I love the app, but whenever I haven’t quite finished the last exercise in the routine and I hit end anyways, when I go to hit save it tells me “oops, there was an error” and won’t save it. It then tells me that I haven’t done anything ever on the app, and shows that I have nothing logged. This is the second time this has happened, the first time it went away after about a half hour but it has now been quite awhile and still isn’t working. Another problem I have is that my exercises are prescribed for one set twice a day, but the app interprets this as two sets at once when you play the program. I didn’t realize this until too late, and it actually pushed back some stuff in my leg because I was doing too much too fast. I can of course skip every other set, but not only is this annoying, it ends up saying I did more than I really did. These are my only two problems with the app, however.
Where’s my data?. First: I like the tracking and tutorial functions of this app a lot. It helps me track which exercises I’ve done at home and during physical therapy. And my physical therapist can see what I do on the days she doesn’t see me. The videos are clear and easy to follow. The latest update was disappointing though. I used to be able to move back and forth one day at a time using the arrows in the activities screen. Now my only option is to navigate through the calendar. The calendar is great if you want to check what exercises you did on a specific date 2 months ago, but it’s not as friendly if you’re just trying to check your activities over the past few days. The most disturbing part of the update is that it erased all of my activities prior to the date I installed the update. I’ve been using the app for 3 1/2 months and my physical therapist had changed my routine a few times. None of that is available anymore. That’s a lot of data to lose.
Almost perfect. I love that you can see and track all of your exercises and that your therapist can see your progress as well. Fantastic app in those regards. What would make it perfect? 1. I wish you could add comments. It would be great to track that you did a certain exercise, but that it was a bit painful or felt extra stiff, etc., or to comment if you needed to modify at all to complete the exercise. Comments would also allow you to specify if you used a certain color resistance band or utilized assistant devices to complete the exercises. 2. Add an adjunctive therapy section. Items in this section could include rest, ice, elevation, pain creams (like BenGay or Voltaren), anti inflammatory medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, nabumetone), and pain medications (Tylenol, cbd or cannabis, and prescription pain meds). 3. I do wish you could edit the time you completed the exercises. If I forget to track right away it would be nice to be able to adjust when I completed them so it doesn’t look like I’m doing them twice in a 5 minute period. All said, excellent app. It has the potential to be perfect.
Seems to be haphazardly-programmed. Once I found the timed exercises, I started using the app that way. Problem is, out of my five exercises, three do not follow my PT’s directions. Instead of a stretch that requires 5 reps at 30 seconds each, the app seems to play one minute and one rep, then that exercise is over. The other problem is that it does not pause between exercises. If you have a seated exercise and the next is a standing exercise in another part of your room, there isn’t enough time to switch and be ready before the activity timer begins. It needs to pause between activities with a click to start the next series. It’d be nice if the rewind button could move you to the previous exercise, too. Once you complete an exercise, you can’t go back to it without starting a new session (which gets sent to your provider).
Better than nothing but seriously flawed. It works great when there are only a few exercises and timing doesn’t matter. Violate that and it is a consistent hassle. Hold times are not supported and the video timing is rarely close when hold times are involved. This such a pain since I am always doing multiple exercises with hold times. If you have more than a couple exercises, chances are you want to optimize the sequence to minimize equipment changes. To it’s credit the app does allow the sequence to be modified but it can’t be saved so the ordering must be redone for every session. Lately, I am finding that if i pause after starting the sequence and don’t unpause soon enough, the app forgets everything and I have to redo the ordering. This morning i had to edit the sequence three times.
Please Fix the Timer for Reps. Let me start by saying my issue could be a result of how my PT is inputing up the program on their end (say, not taking enough time to fill in the proper parameters), but if it is indeed an issue with the app itself, or with the interface for providers, I would love for the developer to fix it. Let me give an example. For stretch X, the app knows that I have been assigned 1 set comprising 3 reps (per side) with a 20 second hold of X. The app knows to remind me to hold. But then… after a 26 second timer (random — could be the PT set an arbitrary time)… it moves to the next exercise in the sequence! It does not repeat for the other two reps.* So I have to keep swiping back to the previous screen. *Note to potential users: there is no way to modify this on your own. You are stuck with how the PT programmed the exercise, and can only modify the order in which exercises appear, not their frequency. Let’s say that exercise Y has 20 reps. The provider probably isn’t going to add in 20+ entries of exercise Y for each rep; they will add in the exercise Y and just set reps and assume the app will take care of the rest. So in short, the app should include a rep counter (to keep track), with an accurate hold timer.
This app isn’t that good. I’m using this app to keep track of what PT exercises I need to do, and I’m using it as a sort of checklist as I already know how to perform each of the exercises. The app has no checklist feature so I just have to go through the program which is fine. Pretty much every exercise I have programmed has a hold involved each rep and instead of the timer taking this into account, the app asks me to pause the timer during each hold. How is that considered practical when I have 15 reps with 5 second holds. It would be great on the other hand it there was an audible cue for the holds, but as far as I know, there isn't. This app has a really good concept that I see could be really useful for people who have trouble performing certain PT exercises, but it needs a lot of refining and it remains in what almost seems to be an unfinished state.
Pretty good!. *Written after a handful of sessions. My PT assigns the exercises, and this app puts them in order. I have had some excellent relief as I strengthen and loosen up tight hurty places. I appreciate the little demo videos and I move along with them. They do go pretty fast between each other with a few moments rest in between. You have to pause the video or it charges right in. At some points towards the end of the exercise, there’s a beeping sound, and I’m not sure what that means. No explanation I’ve seen. What I’d like to see is a way to replay an exercise from the beginning in case you fall behind or get interrupted and didn’t pause in time. It just plays the next video with no going back (?) I worked with Hinge before which had sensors you put on and it’s own iPad. (Option to not use sensors). I appreciate what they’re doing but when WiFi is wonky it doesn’t record the session well and you don’t earn your points. Compared to Hinge, this Go is easier to use. May not be gamified but I’m not here for that. Let’s see how this goes as I keep trying this app. So far ok!
App lacks important cues and instruction. In the past I have had PT and was simply given a piece of paper on how to perform my exercises. I did not find it very motivating at all. However, your app makes me want to perform my PT daily and nearly at the same time every day. But your app lacks instructions as to how the PT is to be performed (other than visual) and requires the patient to focus on a video to ensure they are keeping up. I believe this is counterproductive as the patient takes their focus away from the task at hand. In my case I’m dealing with my spine and alignment. I should not be looking over to the side with my head not in alignment. Why make a patient count cadence when you should be doing it? Your app should give audible instruction every time a rep is to be performed. The instructions should include when you start, tell the patient what they should feel, count for the patient, and when to return. Your app only gives audible cues for the last three reps of a particular exercise. Of course, some people may not want to hear instructions and you can have an on off switch in the menu to accomplish that. I do realize instructions are there but they are only once and done. They are not there during the entire PT session.
The timing is off.. You asked… The app is good but could use some improvements when it comes to some obvious functions. 1) Odds are anyone using this app is doing PT. We need to put the device somewhere we can see it (maybe hear it, or ear phones) and touch it, mostly because the timer is not fully customizable between the various exercises. Some exercises require a little setup time others don’t. We’re recovering from something. Give us flexibility between routines to add or reduce the rest. 2) If the physical therapist gives an exercise that requires a hold, please make sure that the length of the hold is able to be reflected in the countdown timer. Seriously, hold for 20 seconds and I get 12 seconds on the clock for each rep. 🤔 3) It’s a good thing we get to change the order of the exercises, because most of us are doing these exercises at home and getting down and up and be a challenge. Again we are recovering from something… 4) Lastly. The beeps that accompany the count down clock. When they occur make little to no sense. How about giving a setting that allows us to select a beep every second, or maybe allow it to be customized with the time required for each rep (for a hold, when required).
Great idea, mediocre execution. This app SHOULD be very useful for keeping track of your home exercises when undergoing physical therapy, and in some ways it is. But it’s also got some very annoying features that you CAN’T do, or at least are so hard to figure out that it’s equivalent to not having them. For example, when doing an exercise during a session, how do you view its video without playing videos for ALL of the exercises in your program? How do you look at your routine without jumping into a session? Just not a great user interface, not intuitive and no overview of how to best use the app. I’d direct the developer to one of the better workout apps, e.g., Fitbod, for how it should all fit together. On the other hand, the app is very useful for keeping track of all the exercises in your routine and when you’ve done them. It allows your therapist to add and subtract activities when needed and to see progress. So I recommend it, but would just like to see the developer make it great.
Mediocre with Potential. The app is good for reminding me what exercises I need to do on any given day. Beyond that it falls way short of its potential. Some exercises I am told to hold the position for 5 minutes. The timer runs for 5 seconds, so the remaining time of my exercises for the day is consistently way off. If I don’t do an exercise one day, I cannot go back to the day before to see what I missed. It only shows what I completed. If all exercises were required every day, that would be sufficient, but that’s not the case. Some exercises are required 4x per week. Others 2x per week. Some 3x. Some 5x. Some 7x. When the app schedules the remaining days, missed exercises are not taken into account. Once the predetermined schedule is set for the week, that’s it. No auto-adjustments appear to occur mid week based on actual progress. If an exercise gets checked off accidentally for a day, there is no option to undo it or enter a correction. Plenty of potential if some very basic improvements are implemented. But the provider enjoys a monopoly status (after surgery, my PT said “our software connects to this app”). This built in monopoly based on what the PT office bought access into leaves patient users with no real choice. Will the provider advance beyond mediocrity?
Too fast!!!. I’ve had physical therapists give me work to do with this app twice and I hate it. It moves too fast and assumes you have everything all lined up and ready to go all in one place ready to jump to the next exercise in two seconds. I’m at the gym, sometimes I’m at home. Sometimes I’m working with a massage table and a countertop. Sometimes I’m improvising. The set up of these workouts gives no allowance for the fact that you need to get up off the floor, get down on the floor, move to a chair, put something under your back, put something under your knees, put something elastic around your leg. Bear in mind, we are doing physical therapy because we are injured somehow. It’s not always easy to leap from one position to another. And for what it’s worth a robot voice telling me to take a rest and giving me five seconds is NOT a rest. Just give me a printout of what the exercises are that I can look at and then start them. How long since given up on using the app as something to keep up with and let it log my exercise as I do it. Not practical.
I’m not exercise savvy - need a tutorial. I like the sounds but I am confused. I have instructions on one of them to do 1 to 2 reps and 1-2 sets. I did 2 and 2 manually for a few days and then downloaded the app. Is it giving me one rep one set? It was so fast. I wish it said you are doing or you just completed one set. And one of mine had a hold. Am I supposed to have the phone in hand and manipulate it? If so when? There are pleasant alert sounds but what do they mean? Could I set the hold time to 30 sec in advance? I’m afraid to play around with it because it might report me as doing things too much when I am just looking at it and trying to figure out the options I really want to be able to use this but it makes me feel stupid. Like a lifelong exercise failure. And I think it’s probably a great app. Maybe a tutorial is all I needed.
Great idea, needs better functionality. It’s great to have app rather than carrying around paper printouts from my PT; but, definitely needs work in term of user settings. I was given 6 leg stretches and supposed to do a certain number of reps and sets and then a hold at the end of each one. The app apparently does not have the ability to modify these options by the user. As a result it just did one set of reps for each stretch and was done with everything in 4 minutes when to should have take 10 or more. And, as I improve and want to add a rep or two, it keeps racing along as I can’t adjust the number of reps. Also, should be able to adjust the amount of time between exercises if I need to get a chair or band or something , rather than playing through them all without any pause at all. Just not user friendly, hopefully it gets improvements soon.
Confusing and missing key functionality. I want to like this app but it just isn’t that good. Example 1.. If you try to log your activity and do it wrong you can’t delete nor can you edit it. And it saves the log whether you hit save. Example 2.. when it states that “selected activities are still on your plate to do” it is logging deselected as done even after you deselect them. I thought I was just doing it backwards but I did it both ways (selecting what is did and deselecting what I did) it still doesn’t log it correctly as I have no logs that just show me having done two exercises at a time. Example 3.. it is impossible to accurately log that you have done 1 set of a select number of activities. I found where I’m supposed to be able to do it but it still logs them incorrectly in your activity log. As someone who has 10 or so exercises that I am supposed to slowly transition into and do throughout the entire day this program just doesn’t make that possible. I do like the feature of showing me how to do the exercises but it isn’t slow enough to actually go with me. It doesn’t repeat even though I have it set to do so. It seems like there is a bug in this functionality too. I really hope that they make this app better bc Kaiser uses it for all PT patients and a lot of us have trouble with it.
Ok but…. I appreciate that this exists, and the videos of the exercises, and the logging. But it’s frustratingly poorly implemented: The instructions clearly say one thing, but the timer does another. For example, I am supposed to do 10 reps with a 5-second hold each. It should count down at least 50 seconds (more if there is a transition between reps). But it counts down from 38. It has a similar discrepancy with another of my exercises. And the app does not let you configure it to fix this. And it doesn’t have audio or visual cues for each rep. And it’s buggy: it says I have a 48-day streak of doing my exercises, but I’ve only had the app for 5 days. And it says I did my exercises 5 times today, but I only did them 3 times. So this is hardly a bug-free app, plus it has a critical flaw that its countdowns don’t even match the instructions it shows for you. But it’s not totally unhelpful, so I’ll give it 3 stars.
My physical therapist doesn’t deserve an app this bad. My excellent physical therapist wants me to do some of his exercises for a specific amount of time, but MedBridge won’t let him. (As Grovel76 noted, he’s not allowed to select the time.) Some of the exercises he’s submitted are still not available on the app. Even for the available ones, he can’t specify which arm I should use. (Workaround: Prop up the iPad backwards, facing a TV I’m not watching, so that the reflection is using the correct arm.) For me, the biggest irritation is that the app keeps logging me out; re-authenticating on the old iPad I keep in our exercise rooms takes forever. (Perhaps literally, if I ever want to exercise without internet connectivity.) If I pause too long, or move the iPad between exercises and close the cover, it also discards the exercises I’ve already completed. For my wife, the biggest irritation is that I can’t control the audio volume, so unless I kill all sound on that iPad, it irritates her as well as me.
Poor execution. I find this app very frustrating to use. I used the recovery one app for many months and it was much better. This app has a woman’s voice that says ready begin and that’s it. It’s got random beeping sounds that should signify the end of a set for example 10 seconds left, but instead, it just beeps at random times. My physical therapist didn’t seem to know how to add the correct number of sets, so I have to manually pause the app and do the sets on my own. This means that my lock screen comes on while I’m on the floor, which is extremely frustrating. I mentioned this to her, and she told me to look at the pieces of paper that she printed out instead. So in my mind, the whole idea of having the app is so you don’t have to look at the papers.. I suggest the developers take a look at the recovery one app and make some changes. The physical therapists don’t seem to be aware of the patient experience with this app.
No easy way to see your exercise and time bug. There has to be an easier way to see how many times I have exercised recently besides going into each day in the calendar. Turn the days I have exercised at least once a different color or something. Also, something about one of the exercises (simple leg stance) must be wrong because it does not give the full amount of time that the therapist clearly wrote for me to stand. It’s supposed to be 90 seconds, it shows 90 seconds on the screen, and it only goes for two sets of about 25 seconds. I’ve tried to fix it with my therapist, but no luck. I end up having to skip it and then go back and enter that I completed it afterwards, which is unnecessarily annoying.
Tracking Flaws. I planned to use this app for a few main reasons- pacing of the exercises (because I speed up when I’m not with a video) and to track my completion. While this has been helpful for the former point, it’s been close to useless for the second. When I complete the exercises after my child goes to bed, the exercises don’t show up on the correct day of the month, tracking-wise. They will show up on the next day. This is not helpful for determining when I have and haven’t exercised when talking to my provider. I reached out to support who (after making me uninstall, clear cache, and delete cookies) informed me that it was a known issue because of my time zone, and that there was no time frame for a correction. This makes the app far less useful to me, and I find myself using it less as a result.
Exercises are not done as told or shown in the Video. The videos show to do so many reps and how long to hold it. The video is doing something in seconds but the app says to hold each rep for 30 seconds. So I have to pause the video and do the exercise as stated, not as the person is showing. So the videos are useless except to show how the exercise is done, but isn’t really because the person doing them is not holding each rep for 30 seconds. Then in the exercises, the person is only doing half the exercise. When an exercise is doing something one leg at a time, the robot is only doing 1 leg and not the other leg. The videos are stupid When I go see the therapist and she has me do the exercises showing in the videos, she’s having me do them differently, not as seen in the videos.
Correct time to complete the exercise. This app has the right idea. Either this is a bug, or I am using it wrong. My therapist gave me some stretches to do. Take “Isometric Dead Bug” for example: The hold time is set to 30 seconds per set (1 rep) for 3 sets. When the exercise comes up in my routine, it gives me 5-6 seconds on the clock before it ends. Does the app even use the hold time parameter or is it only looking at the reps? Currently, I am using the app, but I have to also use the timer on my phone to supplement the unusable hold times in the app My therapist and I played with it today and it seems to assign a number of seconds to a rep. So, we chose the amount of reps that got us close to the prescribed time, but this gets confusing. Some exercises I’m supposed to pay attention to reps and others I’m looking at hold time within the same exercise session. Also, there is no way to know how much time is allotted for a rep unless you test it over and over again. This user experience could be greatly improved if it would just use the prescribed hold time. Is there a way to fix this and give the provider a way to signal the app to set the time based on reps or hold time? Please let me know if there is already a way to do this. Thank you.
Could be so much better with a little work. This has the basic building blocks for a good tracking app but they fall well short. When I go to do my exercises and call up this app on my phone, I then lay the phone down on the floor while I’m typically laying on my back doing the exercises. It’s not enough for them to simply, have a female voice, saying, begin, rest, and have a bunch of bing bong’s. If I have a list of four exercises, the program needs to call out which exercise I’m doing at the number of reps and hold times. When I move onto the next exercise, it needs to tell me. Doing that, by simply announcing the title of the exercise, and how many reps I am to do. the way it is organized right now all it does is start flying through the different exercises going to start, stop, begin, bing bong, bing bong. I don’t even know what exercise I’m doing, unless I reached out and grab the phone and take a look at it. Also, the videos that are going along side. The timer are not actually tracking their reps at the correct speed relative to the timer. Again, the building blocks are there, but they just have an executed very well on this. Try taking your own app sometimes guys do the work lay on the floor. Listen to your app and then ask yourself whether this is really cutting it. I think you’ll figure out how to make it better real quick
Needs lots of TLC. The core function of the app good, there are nice videos and explanations of the exercises. After using this app for a long time, I can say it definitely needs work in multiple areas of the app. My previous activity no longer shows. Sometimes I can only see a few days back, other times I can see a couple of weeks. It says I did exercises on the achievement tab but there is nothing there. Having to uncheck 18 of my exercises just to track 2 stretches is tedious day after day and it's further damaging to my hands and arms. You can't remove an accidentally logged exercise. The built-in "Exercise GO" tab is way too fast. Some days the load sync when logging in is really slow and other days it's better. Thank you for updating the app so you can view more than 8 exercises in one session. Your updates are appreciated.
Needs enhancements to prompt user through workout. Good at showing how to do the exercises, and in allowing user to select and reorder them. Unfortunately, it is not useful for assisting a user in actually performing the workout. The app needs to use the assigned number of reps, hold time, and add a rest time to prompt out loud the user through start/hold/relax and repeat for the assigned number of reps, then let user know what the next exercise is and verbally state the start/hold/relax steps for that one, etc. Since I cannot watch the video while performing the exercises, the app needs to state aloud the timing with verbal prompts. I deleted the app because I can look at the exercises online or printed out, and don't need the app on my phone if it doesn't step me through my exercises. Also, the chosen synthetic voice is horrible and makes me want to scream!
Voiceover Accessibility. Visually, I have noticed that the video blinks in some exercises. As a blind user, I depend on audio clues to guide me through exercise routines. The MedBridgeGo app only says “begin” and “take a rest”. These cues are only given at the beginning and end of each exercise. It would be helpful to hear which exercise is being started and have a sound cue signaling when a repetition should start and end, whether that is a count or a word such as “go” and “release”. In landscape mode, the pause button is unavailable. If you need to move from a bed or Matt to a chair, you need to be able to pause the video long enough to get where you are going during the rest. I have not been able to enable the pause button during the rest or restart a particular exercise efficiently
Still needs improvement I need to go back to school. I’ve just started this app and find it frustrating and confusing! First week I would try to pause it so I could get to the next stretch but when I clicked on my iPhone, I had to reopen the app. I couldn’t get to the stretch I needed so I just went with the reliable paper copy. This week I can’t see the animated exercises, everything has been marked as completed though they’re not. Different exercises have been suggested due to current inability to do a couple and the old ones still show up but not the new ones. Having experienced a Fischer level Iii SAH I need a bit more guidance on how to manage the app so my exercises are in the correct order and they are all there. Also this week. I cannot pause it and have to log back in every time my screen goes to black. Who is supposed to be teaching patients how to use the aggravating contraption?
Useful but two problems. Does not allow you to edit activity. If you did your exercises and want to log them later you can’t change what time you did them. It’s automatically saved as 12am. It also automatically saved activity that I didn’t do when I just played the video to watch when I was still learning and there is no way to delete it. Does not play the exercises the way my PT wrote them (wrong number of seconds and wrong number of sets). I wish I could customize the playlist so that I can choose how many sets and for how many seconds I need to do each exercise. It seems to have chosen random times for each exercise to last because when I view the exercise individually the instructions don’t match what happens in the playlist.
Hard to control mid exercise. The exercises are great, and I appreciate that my progress is shared with my provider. My provider has entered hold times for many exercises, which are displayed in the app, but I have to pause manually in order for the app to not get ahead of me. That's virtually impossible in many positions! Please consider adding an automatic pause and resume at the correct moment in the video for the specified duration, so that we don't need to get out of position just in order to ensure we've properly held the position. This would also propagate to the overall timeline, and give a more realistic estimate of the time we will spend. Additionally, it would be nice to get an audio cue at the start of every rep (not just the last three) so that we can know the timing even when the stretch has us looking away from the phone.
My second review??. I thought I wrote a review and submitted it but it doesn’t appear in the history. I was frustrated but I didn’t understand I the page where it says how many exercises that session and by pushing log session instead of GO it would log something I hadn’t done. I have it now. I also like you can order the exercises in the way you want. I need props for some and try to put those using the same together. I like the how many seconds between sets option but I would like to see how many seconds between exercises so I can switch props. I haven’t tried pausing because I see some users had problems. Overall I’m happy with the app. I’d much rather use an app than keep track with paper and pen.
Sloppy, rushed app. Do not download!. This app is missing some very basic functionality. Somebody sold an unfinished beta to medical providers, then fired the dev team. When logging a session, there is no control over the number of sets completed. When viewing completed activities, there is no way to see set or rep details. There is no way to scroll to see the full list of completed activities. There is no way to edit completed activities if they were logged incorrectly. When using the timer, there doesn’t seem to be any clear relationship between the time given and the number of reps in an activity. Some activities give me ridiculous times. There is no way in the app to edit or adjust this. When using the timer, some times are long enough that the phone will enter sleep mode. When this happens, the app logs out and all progress is lost.
Almost Perfect: A Great App Missing One Key Feature. I recently started using this physical therapy app and have been impressed with its comprehensive approach and great visuals. The detailed exercise instructions and on-screen animations are helpful and easy to follow. However, I’ve encountered one significant issue that impacts the overall user experience: the app does not allow for rest periods between reps of exercises, such as stretches and dumbbell reps. For example, when stretching for ten seconds, there’s no built-in time to rest for a couple of seconds before moving on to the next rep. This means I have to manually pause the timer to accommodate these brief rest periods, which disrupts the flow of the workout. If the app incorporated these rest periods into the animations, it would better reflect the reality of how to perform each exercise and significantly improve the overall experience. As it stands, I can only give it 3 out of 5 stars. Addressing this flaw would easily elevate my rating to a full 5 stars.
Bad user experience for patients. I’ve been using this app for 7 months for both OT and PT exercises, so I’d say I’m very familiar with it at this point. It technically works, but there are so many things that it fails at that it just is an all around frustrating experience for patients, particularly patients receiving care from multiple therapists who prescribe multiple home exercise programs. First of all, this app shows exercise programs differently to patients than it does to providers. Because of this, you’ll frequently have your program videos only show the exercises for one side, or for not enough time, etc. Secondly, if you have multiple programs from multiple providers (e.g. I had one from my OT and a different one from my PT, and now a third from a new PT), you cannot keep your old programs. You have to erase your existing program to load a new one onto your device, even if you make a new account. Thirdly there are bugs, such as not being able to go back to an old exercise if you’re on a “rest” portion between exercises. So many frustrating things that could and should be fixed. Technically it works, which is why I gave it 3 stars. But the above things make it a really suboptimal experience for patients, and it’s frustrating that providers often don’t even know because MedBridge looks so different on their end.
Sets and timings are off after app was updated. I was told to do two sets of twenty reps for each of four exercises. After the update, the app allots 45 seconds per set for the first exercise, which is not long enough. Conversely, the second exercise, which is really hard, the app requires me to do for six minutes per set. Impossible! The third exercise is about right. The fourth, which is moderately easy, the app wants me to do for twelve minutes in all. That is at least six times more than two sets of twenty reps. These timing errors mean that my exercises are always marked incomplete because I can’t keep up. Info is supposedly sent to my provider. But I can’t raise these issues through the app because there’s scope for only limited types of feedback. Finally, the device screen constantly reverts to vertical orientation, which is not what I want for video.
Was a lot better.. This app has helped me recover from a couple of surgeries. I followed it religiously and used the demonstration‘s to make sure I was doing it correctly. I just had another surgery and In the last few weeks I found that some of my exercises will not register. I’ve also contacted support when I accidentally said I completed some exercises when I didn’t. I wanted a way to remove them and support just said tell your doctor that you didn’t do them. I replied to say my doctor doesn’t look at it. I use it to measure my own performance. Any questions I have tells me to refer to my provider. I feel this product is more oriented towards the system and to providers than it is to patients and their requirements. I am disappointed and I may stop using this if these problems continue
Stop!! Whew, it doesn’t count sets!. I prefer to use this rather than go to a gym as I recover from Reverse Shoulder Replacement. BUT…I have a mere 4 Exercises prescribed by OPT, for 2 sets of 10 reps. The characters in the app go on and on. There is a random DING that doesn’t seem related to anything. Four exercises/2 sets each should not take 18 minutes. Right? Before I start my exercises, it shows how many minutes my therapy will take. Wish I could send you a screenshot. Unfortunately it is the weekend and there is no help available. Also it would be nice to have the characters count reps. Or at least sets. I’m keeping up with the characters and they’re doing like SIX sets If I quit after 2 sets, the app says I haven’t finished my assigned sets of reps. So I don’t get credit for the work I have done.
Timing badly off, no way to tweak. First of all, the content is great. The videos and Descriptions are very helpful. However, the timings for some exercises are badly off. For example? My pt has indicated there modified Thompson stretch for 60 seconds. Unfortunately the app still only gives me about 20 seconds to do it. And there is no way for the user to tweak this, or for the PT either, according to them. It’s not so bad when the time is short, because I can just pause and continue to there next exercise when I’m done. But when the time is too long, I cannot simply skip because the app then says I’ve skipped reps and I have to adjust in the log before saving. And then as others have noted, there’s no way to change later after the exercise has been logged. So overall it’s a great way to SEE what it is i have to do, but it’s a poor exercise training companion and logger.
No option to edit. This app has been more frustrating than helpful. The amount of time allowed for each exercise does not match the timing I was taught by my physical therapist. If the time is much longer than needed, there does not seem to be a simple way to move forward to the next exercise without permanently skipping the one I just completed. The editing feature is also confusing. It appears that you can edit a session after it is posted, but instead it records an entirely new session, which cannot be edited. This makes it look like I completed the program more times than I was actually prescribed. I do appreciate that the app shows how each exercise should be performed correctly. However, because the timing does not match the prescribed reps, it becomes difficult to keep track of where I am in the routine. It would be very helpful to have an option for a tone after each rep, or a visible rep counter that shows which rep I am on. The current tones near the end of the timer do not help me pace the exercise. It is possible that some of this is user error, but I have not been able to find answers through the AI feature or the articles provided in the app. At this point, I would rather track my exercises in Notes and email them directly to my physical therapist.

Excellent app. The app works really well, the exercises are explained and shown making it easy to follow. Only one fault with the app, is it will log you in then record your session before you actually do it, then closes down. So you end up having to log back in again to find out the session is already recorded, you have not done any of the rehab exercises.
Seems it was OK 4 years ago. I find this bewildering and unusable. It seems to automatically submit stuff to my physio even if I’m just trying to work out what to do. The video link is good, having reminders is good. But I find it unusable. I’ll stick to another fitness app which allows me to actually log what I’m doing - reps, weights, sets.
Great targeted exercises. This is a really easy app to use to assist with regular targeted exercise. I would probably like it more if they announced the exercises before they start a new one in a program. It usually just says "take a rest... and begin" so you don't realise it's changed exercises unless you are looking at you phone which isn't always possible whilst exercising. Good reminder system to keep you in track though!

Great app. Before I got the app I just couldn't get into a routine and wasn't doing my physio. Since I've starting using this I haven't missed a day!
No clear directions. It has all the sets in the same side of the body, although I have to do right and let, and 3 repetitions but I need it 2 or 4 for right and left. One exercise was wrong it should be a different one as per my physiotherapist Now I have to do my own routine If the video matches what you have to do, it will be great My review actually was 2 but I could’ve smites because all the nicknames were taken

Program. I have been very pleased with this program as it helps me to keep up with my exercise program through reminders as well as ensuring I am doing all correctly. It is important for me to maintain & improve my strength, flexibility, mobility and balance to better enjoy my remaining years. Although I no longer live in Whitehorse, through a recent visit I have been able to visit a clinic I have attended in the past and have great faith through the results I have achieved in a very short period of time. I had no idea where to go here in Nova Scotia so I feel like I am able to remain in touch with a clinic I am familiar & comfortable with.

Not user friendly. For held poses the app asks you to pause the routine, use a separate timer and then resume the routine. It also beeps at you 4 times in the last 30 seconds. No idea why.
Not easy to log exercises completed. Once you finish doing the exercises the app asks if you want to review what you’ve done. If you press no, your exercises aren’t logged as completed. If you press yes to reviewing them, you have to notice a small, barely visible message in the top right corner asking if you want to log the completed exercises because otherwise it still doesn’t log the exercises as completed. Your physio has to take your word you’ve been following through.
Go exercise. Videos are poorly demonstrated. Descriptions and details of each exercise poor. The whole program is not very user friendly and takes more time to enter info than doing the exercises .
Could be better. This app does what it’s supposed to, which is to guide the user to a series of exercises. On the way, though, there are a few things I would like to see changed. First, I have two different sets of exercises with two different serial numbers. I can’t find any obvious way to store both serial numbers in the app, so I always have to look one up and key it in manually. Second, for exercises to be done with each arm as a separate series, only one arm is shown. Third, nothing at all is said about breathing. Correct breathing is a basic part of any repetitious exercise. It’s an important omission.

Honest review. This app was really helpful with my physical therapy. Having the visual and the timer to guide you through made everything easier to do and you can see if you are doing the exercises correctly. The only change I would make is to add a notification/reminder feature so it will send you a gentle reminder that it’s time to do your exercises. Give this app a 5 out of 5 stars.
Needs to show sets remaining. - App needs to show sets remaining for each exercise, not just exercises with at least one set remaining - Also need a way to "uncheck all" when logging activity, so user can more easily select only exercises done I was hesitant to download this app because the other two apps I've installed for this clinic are so bad they're pretty much useless. However, this app is helpful for demonstrating and logging exercises.
Great app, could use additional features. I love having my PT information I my phone and available wherever I am. The videos are also helpful and great to make sure I can have good form. I wish I could edit the timer as some stretches/exercises take longer than the timer allows. Now I pause the workout, my phone goes to sleep, wake phone back up and continue. Not world ending, but after doing it for 4 of 7 tasks it gets a bit frustrating. I also wish I could turn on and off the exercise narration.
“Adding this program will delete all previous program videos and exercises”. I have been assigned two separate programs by my therapists. And apparently they are incompatible in the app in a way that makes it impossible to have both in the app at the same time. What, do the developers just expect me to get two phones so that I can use one program on each phone? Or keep logging in and out every time I need to use the other program? Something like that just *destroys* usability. Heads up, you idiots - some of us have more than one health problem that we need rehabilitation for.
Lacking Basic Features. This app could be amazing, but it strangely has a calendar to view your progress, without any demarcations indicating which days exercise has been logged, leaving the user to tap randomly through 30 days to view what was logged for that specific day, but not see at a glance how regularly we’re logging exercise. Additionally there are no notes for any exercises or workouts in general, to log resistance level, weight, additional/ leas reps on 1 side, pain issues/ reasons an exercise was stopped/ skipped. With these two very basic changes this app would be fully functional and comprehensive.
Essential to my healing. Many years ago, I got a back injury. I went to physical therapy, but had to keep track of remembering the exercises on my own. I had someone take photographs of me after I got home because I wouldn’t be able to remember them properly. This app changes everything! it provides a real person giving a demonstration the correct way and advise on proper body alignment. I’m so grateful for this app. It makes doing my therapy routines, so smooth and simple! And, by the way, my healing is progressing beautifully!
Difficult to use. Should pause between exercises. Very difficult to use. It just jumps from one exercise to another. I have to hit pause. It should pause with cues. Is difficult to watch flat on my back. Should also count the reps. Otherwise I have to both watch the exercise and count. Is not well thought out software design with user stories how us patients actually use it. Just a convenient way for a therapist to prescribe a set of exercises. Have any of them actually even used it?
Simple and effective. Simple yet effective app. Does the job to log the exercise, sync activities with the therapists records and be able to log comments regarding the exercises. One improvement - the therapist makes specific comments and modifications for my specific needs in the records. Would be nice to have that show up for each routine, so can watch out for these personal recommendations.
Used to work correctly. Have been using this app over the last 6 months. Up until about a month ago it worked fine. Recently it loses track of the exercises, and it will not update the log at the end. It gives the Oops try again error. Also it used to allow you to pause the exercise and then view an example video which was very useful. Now if you pause there is no access to the video.
Needs some upgrades. I love this app because it holds me accountable to do the exercise my PT assigned to me, and it sends that info to her. But while some exercise repeat the video for the number of reps/sets assigned like “Heel toe raises with unilateral counter support,” others like “Gastroc wall stretch” and “Soleus wall stretch” do not. It’s very inconsistent. The first time I used it I was confused because it didn’t give me the right number of reps that were entered correctly by the PT. I had to time it manually to finish. The video timer is so much more convenient. Please fix!
Useful but backwards. The app is useful. However, they have things backwards. Instead of logging the number of reps/set per exercise and the exercises you completed, you first have to choose which exercises you did then go through several screens to get to the one where you can log your results. I’ve started unselecting all exercises, then going through the necessary screens to get to the one where I can select the exercise I’m doing. As I complete a set I document the number of reps and then start the next set, if I can or move to the next exercise.
Good app. Needs tweaking.. The app gets the job done but it’s the way it does it that needs work. In portrait mode the exercise demonstrator is too small to see proper hand positioning etc. When you turn it to landscape mode the demonstrator gets bigger but you lose sight of the countdown timer. The countdown timer is another issue that needs addressing. In between reps you’re only given 5 seconds to rest, which means you have to pause the video each time to get a proper resting time. This is not easy to do when holding a pulley or dowel, etc. Perhaps there’s way to extend the rest time but I haven’t noticed how yet.
Erin Riggs. Initially meeting Erin she presented herself to be-concerned Thorough and made an informed assessment of my back issues and what our goals are I’ve missed a couple of sessions or two I went to chiropractor one more time and I was back to were I started 7 to 8 weeks ago so I’m trying to do my best because I think if nothing less I'm confident I will walk away with the best instructions possible Thanking you in advance Rick Freeman
See rep details & customized alert. Love the app! Even showed one of my doctors and she was amazed. Like someone else mentioned, it would be great to see rep details in the app for each one. Also, if we could customize the alerts. I can just put a phone alert to remind me but if I could put in alerts and select the exercises to connect to that alert. That would be awesome. I have a number of exercises and only required to do them three days. I would love to set half on tue/thur/sat and the other have mon/wed/fri but just select the alert and play all those specific videos. I am sure a lot to ask but it would be awesome. ☺️
Finally home PT that works. I will admit that I have had PT before and the sheets with the exercises went in a pile of papers on my desk. Once in a while, I might do the exercises I like this app because you can set reminders. I also like it because it shows you exactly how to do the exercises and for how long. In someway it hold you accountable. I have been much more diligent about doing my exercises with this app.
What Crap. It gets 2 stars because the videos are pretty good, but definitely not great. It loses 3 stars because everything else about the app is terrible. Videos: The app doesn’t count. Even though the prescription is for 8 reps, the video does 12 no matter what. I mean, my prescription calls for 3 sets of 8 reps. I mean, it’s a struggle just to do the exercise, and it’s even harder when I’m doing it at the right speed. I always lose count, and the video doesn’t help. Schedule: My prescription calls for each exercise to be done 3 days a week. There is no way to set a schedule for which exercise should be done on which day. Logs: All the exercises are marked by default. If you mess up and mark an exercise as done, when it isn’t, there is no way to edit it. Also, while you can add an exercise as done to a previous day, you can’t enter the number of sets or reps. If my PT therapist didn’t want me to use this app, it would have been deleted already.
So easy to use!. In the past, I would come home from physical therapy with several sheets of paper with exercises on them. They were hard to keep track of and harder to follow. This app is awesome! It tracks everything I do and times me and even tells me when to take a break. I like it so much better than numerous sheets of paper to work off of. It’s a great improvement!
This app helps me achieve my PT goals!. It almost seems silly, but it is so helpful to have the voice commands in the app telling me what to do and giving me a count down. I absolutely love it! The only part of the app that I would change is that if I make a mistake and accidentally indicate to the app that I finished a full set or part of a set, I can’t go back and delete that error. I think it would be easy to create an update that would allow me to left swipe the errors before submitting to my provider. Thank you for making this app! It is making a difference in my commitment to my home exercise program!
Great app, but…. It would be nice for this app at add in the gold times for each rep so that it would be a seamless workout. And adding in 30 second rest time would give us the extra time to change positions for the next upcoming workout pose as well as 15 second countdown before the next workout starts would be ideal. Other than that, the videos on how to do the workouts are great.
Helpful, but could do better. I like this app. I don’t have those sheets of paper showing the exercises all over the house. Very handy. BUT, when my therapist adds a hold to an exercise, the timer is not adjusted accordingly. I just pause the program, but that’s a little annoying. I’ve also found that if I accidentally close the app (as opposed to minimizing it) partway through my exercise program, my progress is not saved.
Okay, but has errors. This app is a great idea, but execution is not strong. The holds for 30 seconds are on the app, but they only hold for 3 seconds. Finally, it would be nice to have an option for verbal guidance in order to keep good timing. I am always changing the stretch to turn and watch the screen to see if my timing is correct. If these issues were fixed, this app would definitely be a 5 star. By the way thanks for the rapid response. Good luck with the updates.
Mediocre / very Frustrating, TOO MANY errors and glitches , It’s not even Beta tea. Way way WAY too many errors and glitches. It has GREAT images and but poorly synced written and audio instructions. Nearly all the instructions are only partial. And when the sequence is set for you by your provider, IT DOESN’T work!!! It STARTS to play, but then it either stops or only does one side of your body, or goes way way too long. There is NO way they had a quality team checking everything, they just rushed it Toto market and then kept selling to make money. They HVe to go back and fix everything so it s a smooth, working ap.
Great start but it has a lot of issues. I think this app has a ton of potential when the developer fixes some key issues. Most notably the timer does not properly account for the number of reps and hold time, for example giving me a timer of 30 seconds for 10 reps with a 5 second hold time, and no option to adjust the timer, so I have to pause the sequence to finish the set. The user experience needs a massive upgrade but there is a lot of potential.
Enjoying better life.. While living on a barrier island in NEFlorida, I was enjoying my best life until I began falling. It was probably a life saver for me. Because of the falling I quit life🥺. Happily my doctor ordered PT and I’ve been working with my therapist twice per week. Your website is a big part of where I am now. I’m back driving, walking, etc. Thank you for the fine work you do. Tracks my activity progress. I’ve been prescribed to do 6-8 sessions per day. I use GO app to keep track of the sessions I do. The videos are nice for the first few days but after that I use the option of just logging my sessions. Of course the PT person modifies the instructions slightly, which pose no problem, as long as I remember. What I don’t like is when the PT-ist changes or adds an activity during the day, is that all sessions logged to that time are erased. I would like to have the ability to split the day into two different routines.
The timer doesn’t work with hold. Hi, I’m supposed to do 6 times an exercice than needs to be hold 30 sec. So the timer should at least be 3 minutes. The app gives me 1 min to do it. On another hand 1 have 10 repetition of an exercices that last 3sec. It should be 30sec, the app gives me 2minutes. We should be able to adjust the time if the health provider enter it incorrectly. As a result I’m not using this app, I switched to seconds which allows me to customize. It’s a bummer because I liked the fact that the provider put the exercises to be done on an app so I don’t have to remember what to do. The idea behind this app is very good, unfortunately the app doesn’t work.
Good for what it does, but can’t use it now. I’ve been using the app for PT, but the developers released an update 1 day ago and now my app is telling me I can’t use it without updating. I’m at the gym without great wifi I guess, and the update isn’t downloading, so I just can’t do my new exercises. As a developer myself I understand that some updates are critical and sometimes you need to block access to users who haven’t updated, but there’s nothing in the release notes here that indicate this is one of those updates. Please don’t make the app block me if Im just one day out of date- I just want to do my exercises 🙏🏼
Awkward design - frustrating to use. The design and functionality of this app leave something to be desired. It feels like an alpha version. For a start, the user has to uncheck an exercise when it’s completed. This is contrary to convention. Checking an item should mean that it is been completed. The size of the sub-type face for details of an exercise, when used on an iPhone, is too feint and far too small. It seems that the app can only be used in the strict order in which it is presented, and lacks flexibility, unless used manually. And getting back to the description of the app, exercise, including the numbers to do (reps and sessions) requires the user to back out and come back in through the entry page. The videos are helpful, although not every exercise has a video. And if one partly completes a prescribed set of exercises, the status is not always saved for when the user resumes that particular set.
Solid. The app is very user-friendly. Simple and efficient. The only thing I wish I had was the ability to ask my PT questions and to have maybe a little area to make notes of each session. Reading sometimes when you’re in the moment, you realize something that you’d like to remind yourself to tell your PT about, but then if you don’t see your PT for a week, you might forget a little note section would be great.
The point?. This just runs very slow poorly timed videos of the exercises I already know how to do. It includes nearly 50% down time and my watch doesn’t recognize that I’ve exercised at all. But apparently if I don’t run the videos I haven’t done my assignment. Not a fan Edit There is mention of a help center with articles. Nope. It’s a collection of videos! I read faster than I can watch and don’t want to sit through the usual blah blah blah yo find out whether there an answer or not. If I didn’t have to use this I wouldn’t. Just wasting my time. I’d rather do the exercises on my own
Pelvic Therapy/Exercises. Dr. Lynn Deang recommended this app for me to implement my day to day pelvic floor stretches. So far I like it and enjoy that I have something to follow and reach my goal. Every morning on my day off the app reminds me that it’s time to get started. Instructions are clear and following up on routinely exercises is up to me with the help of the app. After I complete my session I literally high five my phone ✋🏾🙃 don’t judge me! There’s nothing better than a mini celebration of completion!
Clunky and barely usable. Supposedly, it will coach you and help you time your exercises. Not a bad idea - but it is inflexible. Trying to follow along the voice prompts will just frustrate you. If you need to use this app for your PT don’t bother letting it “help” you through your exercises. Just go ahead and do your exercises as you were taught. After you finish, record your work in the app. Of course, if you are anything like me - you might forget to do this until much later. Kind of stinks, but editing routines and times completed is not available in this app. I STRONGLY recommend he “get out a piece of paper, a pencil, and record your exercises” app. It is easy to use, allows for editing, and is much more accurate. Paper & pencil gets 5 stars from me.
Would give it a zero if allowed. Two years in with this app that has so many glitches it’s inexcusable. My Physical Therapist has used this app to manage my exercises for the two years I’ve been with them working on strengthening various parts of my body. My complaints always gets response “I know, I know, just use this part of it.” What amazes me is that two years in there is still glitch after glitch. Examples; repeatedly says I skipped an exercise when it’s in the list upon completion the program forgot it, not me. After finishing the program it asks me if I want to log/save it, 90% of the time it says “opps something’s gone wrong”. Then when I open the program THE NEXT DAY, it starts up by saving it. The therapist puts in 2 sets of a particular exercise. When the video plays on the program, it shows it as 3:40 to do the ten reps which if I stuck around to play it out, it’s about 50 reps! Oh, and there’s much more . . . This app could be so helpful, but it becomes nothing but digital frustration . . .
Good content terrible interface. 1. Why bombard the user with information that can’t use or understand until extended use. 2. You need audio cues for the exercises performed in one’s back where both hands are occupied. Duh 3. The log exercise function duplicates the automatic logging function. Each time I see it I end up wondering whether my session has been logged. Lose it. You might want to have a naive enduser vet your interface before unleashing it on the public.
“Great Expectations” - half useful / not-yet half-done app. It’s as tho’ someone had a Great idea … and started … and quit, LONG BEFORE FINISHING a completely useful and supportive app. a.). There are NO WRITTEN overviews introducing a patient into what they are about to Use. Or b,). Encounter, nor what to Expect … or c.). NOT TO EXPECT 1.). There is NO AUDITORY. - - - NOR VISUAL - - - indicator that ONE exercise. Is about to END. OR MORE IMPORTANTLY a Different exercise BEGIN. 2.). Even though the screen Indicates the individual patient Rx for Reps AND DURATIONS, the App does not “accompany’ the patient as they DO SO. There is No follow-along-with the app support. And TIMING and HOLDING POSITIONS. 3.). It’ll “say”, “Rest”. But the App HAS NOT STAYED WITH YOU TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE EXERCISE. There are NO TIMED HOLDS AS TH RX INDICATES. WHAT’S THE POINT ? Of a “rest”? I’m quitting my CONSTRUCTIVE critique for now. I’m tired. This app , well, the title says it all. I NEED this PT therapy. I wanted to follow, start on my own. Much, much disappointment.
Easy to use!. I really like how easy the app is to use. It’s much easier than having print outs or having to remember the proper form on my exercises. There are two issues I have that keep me from giving it a 5 star rating: the feedback for clinic reminder doesn’t allow me to provide feedback; and my PT has updated my program, but I don’t get the updated version. I have attempted to delete the program and re-add but the most updated version is not available in the app. I can see the updated version on the web.
Physical therapy exercises for shoulder injury. The videos of the exercise are helpful. I do not like that you have to do the exercises in sequence. I cannot figure out how to do them in a different order. A couple of times I’ve been interrupted by a phone call or something and it did not keep track that I had already done two of the five exercises so I had to do them over again in order to get full credit for that day.
Makes rehab easy. I am so happy to have this app demonstrate the movements for me and count down my time. With other physical therapy programs, I found that I get really distracted by my wandering thoughts and things going on around me. Soon I realize that I’m not focusing on the exercises anymore. It was hard to be consistent in finishing the work. I am also glad to be able to set a notification on my phone to remind me to prioritize care for myself. As a busy mom it is easy to take care of others and forget myself.
Ap Freezes. Every time I try to click on exercises the lower right hand corner shows a white circle and then freezes there. After restarting devices. Fully updated iPad Pro and fully updated iPhone 13, still there…. Only will go away if I uninstall ap and then install. However, happens again. If I click on the white circle in the middle….again, no info for the white circle….it goes to my exercise list, but a blank white chat window pops up but freezes then. In theory the ap looks great and I would love to use it, but dont know how to move forward with it.
Great Exercise App Except for Timing. This app is great for the required exercises and if you follow the recommended program, it’s a very thorough workout. I’ve found that the timing on some of the exercises is sometimes off, however. One set of exercises indicates a 5 second hold but the avatar actually holds it for 9-10 seconds while another set calls for 20 second hold but the avatar only holds it for 5 seconds. Other than that, it’s a great program.
Clunky and buggy. I've used other physical therapy based apps like Hinge Health and they are dramatically easier to use. 1. One of my exercises I am supposed to hold for 30 seconds but MedBridge GO just shows a one time notification that I need to pause the video and set a timer myself for 30 seconds. 2. Every morning, when I open the application to try and start another exercise set it says you have successfully looked your exercises and the app closes on me. 3. The interface while you are exercising is very complicated. It seems like there is no correlation between how long you're supposed to hold the exercise and the timer. Why doesn't the timer just go for as long as you need to hold the exercise?? 4. All of the details go away if you turn your phone to Landscape (sideways). I still need to see the timer!
Love it - but two requests. 1) allow me to pick and choose which parts of the workout I do 2) more importantly, let me break up the workout into multiple sessions and track them all. My pt gave me 100 reps/day of each exercise and told me I could do them over multiple sessions in a day. This is not supported now. I’d like to pause one exercise after, say, 30 reps and go to the next exercise, but come back to that exercise to do 30 more later in the day - and have it all tracked so I know what I have done and what still remains. Thx!
Wish I could customize!. I love this app but I wish I could do some customization. For example, when starting a new PT course, my therapist tells me 8-12 reps, 1-3 sets, 1-3 times a day. I may start out with 8-1-1 and that’s the timing the app gives me. But as I progress, I’d like to be able to change the reps to 12. Then change the sets to 2 or 3, etc. But as I cannot, I keep having to pause the program so I can get in the 4 extra reps, then second set without it showing a second session that day. Since the hold timings are so good when I follow the videos, this is a loss.
Used to be better. This app has been really useful, however since upgrading to V2.0, the timing of my workout is way off. Most notably, all of my sets have been cut in half, some went from 6 to 3 sets. I alternate legs for each exercise, so with 3 sets, one leg gets worked twice as hard unless I restart the last set in each exercise to even it out. That’s pretty frustrating. It would also be great if this app worked properly with Bluetooth or airplay. If I play workout music over AirPlay, the MediaBridge videos pause between each rep, leading to longer reps and thus a much longer workout.
Looks Nice, Functionality Infuriating. The app looks great, particularly the videos and instructions for the exercises however the timer makes the app pretty much unusable. You have to keep picking up your phone and pausing exercises so that it doesn’t move to the next one before you have completed holding your stretch for the period indicated. This means you are constantly picking up and putting down your phone which makes it impossible to maintain the stretch. Let the PT enter the duration of the stretch in numbers and use this to adjust the timer. By all means include a text box for specific instructions. This is not that complicated.
World Class Service and Professionalism. I was severely injured in a ladder fall accident, with a fracture to me vertebrae and Dr. Keith took exception care of me during my PT and continues to take care of me… I can’t thank him enough for his expertise and attention to detail as we are going through this painful process. I highly recommend him for any of your needs with regard to getting back to normal or just to improve your flexibility and strength. 10 stars
Very frustrating app with great potential. I have been trying to get this app to work properly for 4 years and with 3 different physical therapists. It does a great job is allowing the PT to set up a custom routine with videos and tips to use proper form. I love the potential it has to be a great companion to a physical therapist in supporting at home patient follow up on the prescribed treatment plan. It falls apart on the execution. PTs typically prescribe exercises with specific hold times, for example hold for 30 seconds with a set of 3 times. The timer in MedBidge GO completely ignores the hold time prescribed. For example if the Pat prescribed 30 seconds the timer may count down 7. I've called the MedBridge support number and they are aware of this defect and it has existed for a long time with no plans to fix it. For me it makes the product unusable. I'm surprised that this obvious of a product bug got through any casual product testing step. Don't plan a PT routine on this app until this issue is fixed. So much potential, so close, but a product failure from this patient perspective
Fantastic Rehab Assistant. This is my 4th joint replacement, 2 knees and now my second shoulder. This is my first experience with this app and honestly it is a great tool. I stay on track and responsible which is key to getting back to 100%. The app is somewhat customizable, I gave my ray periods 10 seconds up from 5 and opt out of certain exercises as I go. I love it and highly recommend it. Surgery is easy, professional fully trained staff do the work. Rehab at home, after office visits is now in the hands of me and this great app. Well done!
Very helpful exercises. My hip feels better when I do these exercises. I would love more instructional talking from the presenters throughout, so I don’t have to keep turning my head to look at my iPad, and so I know if I’m using the most appropriate body structure when performing the exercises. The presenters seem to alternate legs. I’m still not sure if that is what I’m supposed to do, so I use one leg for all the exercises and then repeat with the other leg so that each leg is used for all the exercises.
Review. My experience with BenchMark Physical Therapy was great!! Rob and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and genuinely care about their patients. I highly recommend BenchMark to anyone who needs physical therapy. I have had physical therapy before, but never had the same experiences as at BenchMark. Rob and his staff never make you feel uncomfortable or make you feel like you’re a nuisance. They do not rush you, they work with you.
