CBT-i Coach App Description & Overview

What is cbt-i coach app? CBT-i Coach is for people who are engaged in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia with a health provider, or who have experienced symptoms of insomnia and would like to improve their sleep habits. The app will guide you through the process of learning about sleep, developing positive sleep routines, and improving your sleep environment. It provides a structured program that teaches strategies proven to improve sleep and help alleviate symptoms of insomnia.

CBT-i Coach is intended to augment face-to-face care with a healthcare professional. It can be used on its own, but it is not intended to replace therapy for those who need it.

CBT-i Coach is based on the therapy manual, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia in Veterans, by Rachel Manber, Ph.D., Leah Friedman, Ph.D., Colleen Carney, Ph.D., Jack Edinger, Ph.D., Dana Epstein, Ph.D., Patricia Haynes, Ph.D., Wilfred Pigeon, Ph.D. and Allison Siebern, Ph.D. CBT-i has been shown to be efficacious for insomnia for both Veterans and civilians.

CBT-i Coach was a collaborative effort between VA’s National Center for PTSD, Stanford School of Medicine, and DoD’s National Center for Telehealth and Technology.

CBT-i Coach works with the Apple Health app and Fitbit.

Thank you, VA. Needed this app so much after suffering postpartum depression and anxiety with awful sleep as an active duty mom. The app is great but there is an issue with the sleep prescription and entering prescribed wake and sleep times. The version I have will not let you update those two fields and default to midnight for both and this you cannot have a sleep prescription without them.

Helpful. I’ve been using this since July after seeing a sleep doctor. I like the app. The only thing I wish they’d change is the time options. It’s in denominations of 10. I wish it went by fives are all numbers would be better to have an accurate assessment.

Pocket guide for your sleep issues. I was introduced to this app many years ago by a sleep therapist and have been using it for the progressive muscle relaxation. Recently I started having sleep issues again and turned to it for the sleep diary (while reading Hello Sleep book) and it’s been wonderful! So easy to use. And my sleep is getting better already. It’s probably more helpful if you already have some knowledge of insomnia, like you’ve been though a CBT-i or are aware of the concept. Anyway love this app and really appreciate all the tools it provides.

Two things. 1) please allow me to view graphs of all my data, not just the last 7 days. This is paramount to identifying patterns and breaking habits. 2) for the love of anything, stop the notifications warning me that I’m not getting enough sleep to function. I KNOW!!! Why do you think I downloaded the app?!?! This garbage is making me not want to use the app and making me want to punch my provider in the face!

Extremely Helpful App. This app has made my life better. I really believe it’s helping me get better sleep. I hope the developers will keep working on it. I’ve noticed that the last night’s data doesn’t appear when I graph my sleep. Also, the app doesn’t look good on my iPad since it doesn’t fill the screen. I really appreciate this wonderful tool.

great app. i was using an expensive app for 1 month and i am struggling. especially with Srt and waking up many times a night. i just found this on in an article i was reading online about cpt -i therapies. this app is so much better! it goes in deeper, answers more questions provides more choices in the therapies. and its free!!!! i am switching now!

Decent app. This app was recommended to me for sleep apnea. The app seems pretty straightforward on the surface, but the layout could be better. One feature that I highly desire is being able to access/input data using any device. That feature seems to be missing. Since I use multiple devices the data stays with the device the data was input to the end result being a mish mash of data on multiple devices. A simple user name/password and account would solve(?) this issue and would allow data to be compiled and provider access. I'm too new to using this app to give it an accurate assessment, but since I am made to, a neutral rating. I will update in the future.

A very helpful part of my insomnia plan. I’ve been using this app for several years. I’m not a veteran; I just stumbled on it while researching insomnia apps. I’ve had insomnia since childhood and am now being treated with CBT and medication. This app helps me track my meds, caffeine and alcohol intake, sleep hours, naps and everything else that potentially affects my sleep. Definitely recommend.

App is great, reminders are not. This is a great app to improve your sleep. Be aware, the reminders to do your diary do not work consistently so I recommend setting a reminder elsewhere on your phone.

App stopped working after 1/1/19. But, it lets me enter sleep diary info as usual. However it shows no record of entries after 1/1/19. I have been using it flawlessly since August. I cannot find any way to reset for the new year, or any reason for this issue.

New version is worthless!. I have used this app for a year, and it had some flaws but was helpful. The old version looked old school, but it worked. The new one is awful and full of bugs. Data export no longer works, which makes the app useless: I cannot read charts with no data point and with data all smushed into a tiny screen. When typing into the notes, the app doesn’t automatically capitalize anymore. If you create your notes in a different app and copy/paste, you have to give the app permission to paste EVERY time instead of just allowing it in settings. Saving an entry no longer shows you your sleep stats; you have to search for them instead. The app creates duplicates if you try to edit an entry. All of these are new issues since you tried to fix a perfectly good app! Please fix!! The one issue I had with the old app is that creating an entry requires that you focus on the sleep issues instead of on good quality sleep. You need to know how many times you wake and for how long, as well as what time you finally awoke. People who struggle with insomnia should not be focusing on these things. Developers, please create a sync to a sleep device that will automatically record this data!

Can’t even begin because it is too limited limited. My job begins at 1:30am. I tried to submit a sleep log off getting in bed at 6:30 pm and walking 3 hrs later unable to go back to sleep before getting up for the day at 1:00am. The sleep app thinks the wake time was for the next day and there isn’t any way to let it know it was for the same day. It will not accept the entry. So I can’t even begin to use the app because I can’t complete the first task.

Good App but lacks integration. Good app with all the data collected but the lack of integration with apps that actually track your sleep makes it tedious to have to fill in data points from one app to another. Publish an api to the app and let the sleep tracker apps integrate to it. Then it would be 5 star.

Staying on task. When you suffer from insomnia the app helps you set goals and stick to them.

No nonsense app. I’ve been using this app on and off over the past couple of years & nothing is straight to the point like this one. The information in here is concentrated, straight to the point and, readily available; the reason I give it 4 instead of 5 is because it lacks a little utility in sleep track as compared to using garmin app. Overall, I’d give it a 4.8 if I could.

Useful but buggy. Updated from 2 to 4 stars for fixing the issue related to the audio stopping when the screen shuts off. If the notification system works consistently I will revise my score to 5 stars.

great and helpful tool. Easy to use and helped me discover and understand my sleep patterns, giving me insight into my behaviors. With the help of some good study and consulting with a sleep therapist, along with other good health practices, this app assists me in tracking, improving and maintaining good sleep hygiene and better overall health. In my mid to late 50s, I’ve cultivated a more pleasant and less stressful life by giving up more abusive aerobic and anaerobic practices in favor of sustainable stretching and gardening, to include lots of push lawn mowing and weeding, augmented by seasonal yoga, golf, swimming, bicycling and handyman work. The cumulative effect is increased flexibility and decreased wear and tear on tendons, ligaments and cartilage along with lower blood pressure and pulse rate. Quality sleep is a big part of my overall improved health: mental, physical, emotional.

Dont use the sleep diary. If use have a abnormal sleep cycle then don’t use the sleep diary because no matter what you do unless you go to bed around so called normal times the it wont work at all it literally tells me the total hours are a negative number but i slept for 11 hours

Made problem worse. All that entering in the sleep diary caused me to fret more about my insomnia. Nighttime awakenings increased in length as anxiety increased. The app is also like a scolding school teacher e.g. “warning!” “looks like you have insomnia (duh) talk to your provider”. Tells you NOT to look at the time but how are you supposed to know how long you were awake in the night (worrying about not sleeping)? If you have anxiety and some OCD tendencies, I cannot recommend this app. At all.

April updates. I’m have been using this for a few months now, the updates it got in April have Mede the app worst. Is was nice and simple before. The dates are not automatic anymore, the Home Screen can be buggy. Wish they wouldn’t change the layout or at least let the user choose how they want it.

Easy sleep logger, but entries disappear. I’ve used this for a couple of months now and find it very easy to enter details of my previous night’s sleep. I found it helps to use the 24-hour clock instead of the 12-hour am/pm as it defaults to morning times during entry. But my larger issue is that entries mysteriously just disappear. I make my diary entry, save it, close the app until the next day. When I go back the next morning, I see entries from a few days ago are just gone and just 4 or 5 of the last 7 days still exist. No idea what’s going on here. Doesn’t happen all the time, just when it feels like it. This is a major annoyance and reduces the value of the app. After entering and saving the sleep details, and then losing one or several, the graphical outputs are not as useful as they might have been with all data. All my data is entered into this app on my iPadPro 4th Gen with current versions of iOS, now on v16.2.

Very easy!. To be able to just open up the app and plug in your sleep hours every morning it’s too easy. Awesome.

Good App. A free application with no ads! Yay for that! On a basic level it’s a really great application, providing opportunities to look at sleep and factors surrounding sleep differently. With a new view comes the chance to make changes to improve sleep and sleep satisfaction. I use this in conjunction with another app that helps track my sleep, which helps give me some of the info needed for my sleep diary. I have not started using several of the tools offered, but enjoy the sleep diary and graphs. I recommend this application to others. Thank you to the VA for making this widely available. * Note to developer: Bug fix needed on the graphs. The numbers along the graph axis are not match up with the information put in the sleep diary. Ex. Went to bed at 0200h, but matching the data point to the left axis looks like I actually went to bed at 0300h. Otherwise graph points seem accurate relative to one another.

Better than nothing but needs a lot of work. I’m a provider that does CBT-I and this app has so much potential. The Sleep Need Questionnaire needs to be added to assessments. There should also be an easy way to access average bedtime, sleep latency, awakenings after sleep onset, wake times, etc. Also, the sleep efficiency average given is total, not by week, and the graph does not expand/it’s too small to read exact numbers at each data point. It would be a much more useful, convenient app if it had these features. Hopefully they can make improvements soon.

Critical Data Missing. CBT-i app could be a good app if: Modified to add you low/high SPo2 and HRV value to the Sleep Diary. Additionally, the PDF export is really inadequate to determine your overall sleep values. Suggest app be programmed to allow PDF export of a summary that provides the average: Total time to sleep, times you wake up, total hours of sleep. Also add to the Sleep Diary capability to add SPo2 low/high, heart rate and HRV values, which would also be included in the summary. A one page summary of the above would be beneficial to individual and Care Provider. No Care Provider is going to gain needed info provided in the current exported PDF format. As many have smart watches that track suggested new data, please consider.

Works really well. Tried so many things for insomnia, this is the only one that works

Cannot find where to enter my email. Need to export data, for this the app prompts That must have email entered, but click and searching cannot find where to enter my email. If could please give directions on how to enter/store my email in the app

Fantastic. This program is the first “non-pill” isolution to insomnia that studies have shown works as good or better than its control arm. Warning for contraindication to cbt-i is diagnosed bipolar disorder so speak to your healthcare professional before attempting the program. So glad we have this resource at our finger tips and for free!

10/10 recommend. I have been struggling with insomnia this year and was feeling really hopeless with it. The educational resources on this app have helped me feel validated with my struggles. I regularly use the sleep diary to feel like I have more mindfulness and control over my sleep again. I am deeply appreciative that this resource is free and easily accessible.

Sleep. I’ve enjoyed all the tools. It’s hard to determine when I actually go to sleep but the sounds help. I have it set for 20 minutes. If I’m not aware of it silencing, I know I went to sleep within that 20 minutes. I’ve used the relaxation techniques and they help. Still can’t quiet my mind all the time.

Useless if you’re going to sleep early morning. The app requires you to keep a sleep diary for five days before you can get into the sleep coaching. However, if you are an insomniac who cant sleep or can’t even get yourself into bed before 12 am it doesn’t work. If you enter a bed time after 12 am it thinks you went to bed on the morning of the the PREVIOUS day and therefore slept for over 24 hours. There’s no way to indicate that you went to sleep early that morning. I can’t make accurate entries in the sleep diary and therefore cannot use the app for its intended purpose

Good, but needs some things. This is a decent app for tracking sleep habits but needs some improvements. 1. It needs a much better reminder system, something that will constantly show up on your lock screen until you’ve entered your data for the day. 2. Put the ‘Add new entry’ right on the home page. There shouldn’t be any need to cycle through other pages to do this.

Excellent app for insomnia. Working with a Psychologist and this app has been very helpful and beneficial for getting me more restful sleep and actually getting some sleep….

Date picker worse than before. There are a number of good things about this update but the date picker is worse than before. Previously the default date was today’s date meaning I’d have to scroll back one day for every diary entry. Now for some reason the default is in February so I have to scroll forward two months and then select the date. Please just make the default date YESTERDAY. Most people will be entering their sleep from last night — not from two months ago.

Great sleep app!!!. This app is wonderful not just for veterans but for anyone who has trouble sleeping. It appears to use many scientific and evidence based measurements, Travis multiple dimensions for sleep and has a notes section. This is exactly what I was looking for!! I’ve already recommended it.

Buggy new versio. I recently updated the app to version 3. I wasn’t told to back up data so I lost the previous data saved in the previous version on my phone. I know can’t enter any new sleep entries and I tried importing a previous CSV exported file and it uploads the data but isn’t displayed on Home Screen. DO NOT UPDATE TO THIS VERSION AS IT STANDS IT IS BROKEN.

Very useful. During a CBT-i course provide at the hospital, they suggested using this app to take my usage and compliance. I have found this app very useful and easy to use. I’m grateful to have this on my iPad, it’s much easier to discuss my sleep patterns with my doctor with this tool. Printing a report is a major benefit for my. I need to check if data can be imported from my CPAP app.

Clunky technology and obvious education. 1. It is impossible to forward a day to enter “yesterday’s” nap on the day it is taken. Not helpful for people who can’t remember yesterday. If one has to make paper notes to use the app, what’s the point? 2. Most of the advice is about sleep hygiene. Chronic insomnia is not caused by, nor cured by things like sleeping in a cool room. 3. If you think a worry time is effective for PTSD then you don’t understand PTSD. As usual this is just good advice for normal people. Sure think about how you can’t pay your light bill then stop thinking about it, you’ll probably feel better.

Calculator.. The sleep calculator does not seem to work correct. But the information. Guided breathing etc etc etc. all is great stuff. Almost fell asleep in my chair in my office.

best app ever. this is a rlly good app.. my doctor told me to get it and it actually works…it helps me when i cant sleep, or even if i haf a rough day…. but you should add more relaxing storys, but other wise you should definitely get this app if you are up late and cant sleep or even through the day times. trust me it works.

New version is way too buggy. I have used this app for a year. The old version looked old but worked. The new version is riddled with bugs. When I first updated the app, it wiped ~8 months of sleep data history. I talked with the developer, and they said there was no way to recover the history. I continued using the app, but it’s so buggy. Export data doesn’t work. Editing sleep entries creates duplicates. The sleep charts are hard to interpret because there are no values/data points. Overall the new version is a downgrade from the old, reliable version.

Part of my self-care routine. Started using this app 2 years ago as part of VA sleep therapy program. Excellent reminders and tools for healthy sleep, but really focus on the everyday logging feature. Gets me back on track quickly. Never had any of the issues other reviews have mentioned. Stable, easy to use app.

Nice electronic log. I have not really delved into this app outside of the sleep log, but I did want some kind of record of my daily sleep. This is providing that. Very easy to use and it also reminds me to fill it out each morning. Overtime I will have a record that I can use as I try different methods of sleeping better.

Some bugs. I’m not able to change prescribed sleep and wake times, which I’m supposed to adjust weekly in the app. I wish the app gave me a recommendation vs me having to self assess. On a positive - I’ve stopped using my phone in bed and wake up at the same time every day now.

My god, please fix yr new version - catastrophic errors. Please fix the gross errors of the new version. I’ve used this for years and now it’s kaput!!The old version was old school but it worked. New version— doesn’t work on iPad landscape mode so that you might type. Doesn’t save entries when you press SAVE. Opens the Sleep Diary in some random date in the past, instead of Today. Once you finish an entry you don’t automatically see your sleep efficiency stats— you have to go back home and search for it! Surely you know these things! All the VA money and labor just to break a priceless tool???

Effective app but…. I find the app fast and easy to use. One difficulty they should fix: When I choose “Went to bed at 10 PM”, the app should pre-load “PM” as the time I fell asleep. It doesn’t. It defaults to AM. Also, and a big one that I will remove if someone will tell me how to do this, I had a sleep doctor appointment the beginning of June. It appears to have lost all my May data. Can the diary be made continuous? There are very few instructions included with the app, and it includes no way to contact the creators for help.

Great app for vets/first responders. This is a great sleep app for veterans or first responders. The sleep tracking section is very helpful. Also the suggestions are not annoying like with some sleep apps. Some of the sleep prescription stuff could be hard to understand if you are using it on your own without a therapist. The notifications are buggy but there’s a way around that which is every time you get a notification if you click on it (like to open the app) then it will work correctly.

Sleep tracking portion needs major overhaul. I’ve been using this for several months on my own as I’m not affiliated with the VA. I can not set the sleep prescription and when I try it has me waking and going to sleep at 12 am. On the home page I try to set the sleep prescription and am unable as I am told my sleep percentages are too low for the past week and I need to see a provider. We’re told not to look at the time we wake, but this is required for the tracking (how long were you awake). I can only see one week of data on the graph and so am unable to track longer periods of time to show patterns to the person who is trying to help me with sleep. So, the major functions of your ap are flawed. Being a mental health professional, I find the helps to be a very nice addition, but know that some of them aren’t appropriate for chronic insomnia. Sadly, I’m unable to find a compatible program that would allow we to download/view the sleep tracker information to share with a provider. This ap needs major work, but is the best free one I’ve found to be available.

Why did you change?. I used app for awhile and was happy with it but one morning the icon had changed and the functionality changed also. Calendar is set to 2022 so I can’t track sleep accurately and years of records just disappeared. If I were working with someone I would have no data. It’s become an annoyance since it doesn’t track anymore.

Still not there yet. This app *looks* user friendly and aesthetically pleasing, but it’s really clunky and still very basic. I appreciate the effort to get more of these tools out for people who need them. But the things I found that I liked were either removed, or it took way too long to find them again. It’s not easy to navigate at all, and you’ll find yourself in loops of trying to get back to the 1 or 2 things you might find useful or unique. Again, thanks for the effort - I was getting stressed just trying to get back to the tools I liked. Maybe they were removed? So it’s making me feel crazy too! Eh, not good I guess.

m. This is a great app

Easy organised app. Easy to follow and access. Very well created. Easy to navigate through organised tabs and options. Stable app Thank you

Ok. The interface is not appealing but it’s otherwise good

Export doesn’t work. Seems good, easy to use, but export of data doesn’t work for me. Annoying to have to screen shot each page to send to my doctor

ugly. dude why this app so ugly

Helpful. I like having my sleep data in one place. The reminders do not work consistently from day to day. Days go by when I don’t get my reminder to complete my sleep diary, then I randomly get a reminder for a day or two.

Need to add more features. It would be nice to have the option to export the data. It would also be helpful to be able to view more than one week on the charts.

Difficult to understand, can't use. Not sure how this works

Sleep Diary Suddenly Stopped Allowing Anymore Updates. Was working fantastic, I was gaining so much insight from the sleep charts, then one morning it just stopped accepting entries, leaving me and my sleep Dr high and dry - our work relied heavily on the info & feedback provided by the charts. Such a disappointment. Update: this bug was fixed, but as of last night it won't go into 2024, i just get the prompt, "date out of range"!

Good info but flawed functionality. The data collected is great and the insight I get from it very helpful. However, I can’t update my sleep prescription nor will I receive the exported reports. Went on the app support website and there is no information on troubleshooting these 2 issues.

Crashes. This app always crashes. I can never same my sleep. So frustrating

Understand your sleep. I got this app at the recommendation of my Occupational therapist because I had not been getting enough sleep. The app allowed me to track how I was sleeping as well as track my sleeping habits. Seeing my sleeping habits like when I go to bed on a graph really helped me become more aware of where I could improve personally to try and get a better sleep. It also allows you to track different things that can affect your sleep and can be hooked up to your smart watch. I definitely recommend it even for people without sleep disorders.

Shuts off. Trying to evaluate this app, however, the visualization tools cannot stay on if the screen is off. So if the phone shuts off automatically within a minute or two to save battery, the visualization programs also shut off. Dark is important for meditation and rest, and you are asked to close your eyes, so it doesn't make sense that the app stops playing if you turn off the bright screen. Looks like a good collection of tools. If you apply a fix, will edit review.

Doesn’t work after update. Just like the VA, fix something that isn’t broken. Now when I tap on it, it doesn’t operate.

Great as part of full program.. This app is great when used along with Gregg Jacobs cbtforinsomnia.com program or his book “Say Good Night to Insomnia.” Same diary, calculators, content as the program.

Not so great 👎🏻👎🏻 Completely useless app. This app doesn’t sync with Apple health. There are also bugs. You can’t set a prescribed sleep or wake time. It’s just defaulted to sleep time 12 am and wake time 12 am. There is no way to change it. There are many better apps out there.

Great Sleep APP. As a former Air Force medic with PTSD and sleep cycle disorder, I found this app. My doctor at the VA asked me the very same questions on his paper log. This is excepted psych evaluation analysis, and it really works to evaluate your sleep. There is only one thing my doctor had on his list of questions that is critical in evaluating a patient's sleep that is missing. What time I took my Meds. You might want to consider this important piece of data. Thanks for a nice suite of APPS VA!! I am using others too!!

Shuts down while using. It doesn't stay on when the screen shuts off having to press it every few seconds kind of defeats the purpose

Good. It's a good app, but the current version is kind of annoying. I wish they'd go back to the minutes instead of every 10 minutes when entering information. And when you enter the previous night sleep should go back up top.

Needs work. App needs to allow for shift workers to input their sleep appropriately. e.g. I cannot put 0600 as my bed time and 1400 as my wake time; I'm told I woke up before I went to bed.

B. Very good

Apparently Not for Night Shift Workers. I tried entering my sleep time into the Sleep Diary (10am to 8:30pm) and when I tried to save, it told me that my calculated sleep appears to be a negative number and I should check my entry. Apparently it doesn't understand night shift workers and sleeping during the day - which is a big cause of insomnia. Wasn't able to move forward from there.

Help. I was using this app and switch phones and none of my data is on here I’m getting out soon and I needed the info to provide to my healthcare provider for my va claim for sleep apnea and insomnia

CANNOT SYNC HELPPPP. I love the App however the big problem I have is not being able to sync data. I downloaded the App on my IPOD and IPAD. all the data entered on is not updating at all to the devices. Is this being looked at? In addition, I agree with others about being able to share data. Thanks!!!!

Curious Mountain. This app is not designed to be used alone. It needs at least a self-help book to go along with it. The sleep diary and helps are quite good. They are better than the ones offered in some apps I paid for.

Alarms don’t work. I am affiliated with the VA and was recommended this app by one of my healthcare providers. I like how I can track my sleep but that’s it. All the alarms and reminders on here work for a day or two then stop.

Cannot access sleep prescription. Can’t edit prescribed wake/sleep times - the numbers are in blue, but unchangeable. This makes the sleep prescription function inaccessible.

Logging has serious bugs. I have been using the app on the iPhone just to show others how to use it. I found we cannot find how to review previous weeks. Also after only no entries last week, and 3 entries the week before, this week does not show at all. I don't have a sleep problem is why I'm not logging everyday.

Great app! Needs a little tweaking though. I've used this app for sleep diaries and has worked well. What I am frustrated with however is the audio files during relaxation stopping every time the screen blacks out. I should not have to change settings on phone every time to keep the app open long enough to go through an entire session. Enable it to play in the background please. Otherwise a great app!!

Disappointed. I was disappointed to see that this app does not have the key component to CBT...tracking your negative and positive thoughts about sleep. I'd hoped this app would be identical to the sleep diary I'd seen in Say Goodnight to Insomnia but it isn't.

Good could be great. For instance why is everything in ten minute increments? I am not awake for ten minutes when I get up in the middle of the night.

Fatal flaw for people with sleep phase disorders. I like the design of this app and appreciate that it exists, but it is completely useless for people with sleep phase disorders. My sleep schedule often gets shifted later and later until I'm going to bed late in the morning I'm getting up in the afternoon. There is literally no way to enter this information into the app. For instants if I go to bed at 9 AM and get up at 2 PM in that or how I enter the data, the app tells me got up earlier that I went to bed and won't let me save the entry. The only workaround I've found is to shift every entry earlier by four hours or so then add a note to myself saying to subtract that many hours, but this completely negates the diagnostics feature, so I'm better off with a pen and paper sleep log. The app is great otherwise and I'm more than happy to upload my sleep data for further study, but it's difficult to believe that sleep professionals would design an app that is impossible to use for people with particular sleep disorders.

sleep phase disorder. I'll second what Pforan said, this is not working for people with sleep phase disorder (or shift workers). My doctor recommended this app as we are always looking for something new to change my sleep but this app needs work. I enter 7am-2pm and get an error.

Works pretty well. Needs 5 minute increments. It’s just 10 minutes (went to bed at 1140 VS really at 1145).

Save button does not work anymore. I have been using the app for a month after which the Save button became disabled and no matter what I do - reset all data or reinstall the app, it does not work. Please fix it asap as my doctor needs this app to work!

Needs ability to mail log/journals. The app is exactly what my mental health care psychiatrist wants me working on for my insomnia and cgt, the down side is that the app is only good for me and my phone and has no ability to share or mail the weeks log to my psychiatrist which makes it useless for my progress. I still have to go fill out a piece of paper. Give the app the ability to share logs and assessments with your doctor and it would be a 5 star app !!

Excellent app!. Love this app!

Good but could improve. The relaxation exercises are wonderful for people with anxiety disorders, but you have to keep your screen on to listen to the directions. If your screen shuts off, so does the sound. Please fix because it would really help!

Love this App. I am an ER doc and don't have time to do CBT. I am well aware of the benefits, so I downloaded this. It's worked well. Thanks Stanford and VA.

Great app...free!. Fixes needed : 1- move add data entry to the top 2- round off minutes to 5 at least or option to enter your own . How do you know if you don't look at the time when you wake up during the night? 3- guided meditations shuts off unless user changes phone settings. 4- time shown taken med( I usually enter it in comments section)

Great app!! Needs one little fix. This app is the best free app out there, and better than nearly all the apps you would pay to do the same thing. In addition to the sleep diary which tracks your sleep efficiency for you, there are several relaxation recordings that are very well done. Simply put, this is the top of the line. There will have to be something groundbreaking to take its place. Addendum: I have been using this app for 15 months and use the Diary every day. Yes, every day. I take my sleep very seriously. This week there was an update to the software. There is one problem (amidst all the great updates with charts that I like): in the new sleep diary, the button to add a new entry is at the bottom of the page (used to be at the top). Here's the problem with that change: I have a sleep diary that is about 400 entries long, so in order to add last night's sleep to my diary, I have to scroll down and scroll down and scroll down and scroll down to get to the button to add a new entry. Can you please move that button back to the top, please?

Looks good, but fix the time divisions pls. I second the comments of another reviewer--this app has a lot going for it, but it's annoying and inaccurate to choose between 10 and 20 minutes when the truth is 15 minutes. Thanks for the rest of the good work.

No plan. No help.. After recording sleep for a week it’s suppose to give me a plan. Instead it says see a doctor. No help at all.

Left me hanging. Hey, thanks for making the basic breathing exercises require a connection to use. I enjoyed staring at a white screen for 10 minutes as I was having a panic attack

Breathing tool not as effective. The new narration on the breathing tool is not as “rhythmic”. The previous narration was much more effective. I just couldn’t find it relaxing as before.

Some of the "fixes" were ill-advised. The app as it was before the last update was great and the addition of the graphs was awesome, however, putting the "Add new entry" button at the bottom of the list is confusing and inconvenient, particularly when the list starts getting long. Please put it back where it was. Also, I don't like that you've "rounded" the time entry to the nearest 10 minutes when entering in sleep and wake times. If you MUST round it, please do it to the nearest 5 minutes or put it back the way it was so I can enter it by the minute. I already have a sleep issue I'm trying to work on, please don't screw with my OCD in the process.

Sleep diary doesn’t work or make sense still. The prescribed sleep and wake times are exactly the same 12am no matter how you fill out the entries.

Too much manual input. The other sleep app I use is all automatic, utilizing the features of the iPhone. Manual input allows for skewed data results and too much time and effort to input. Check out SleepBetter app. I'd like to see the VA adapt this tech
