Global Entry Mobile App Reviews
Global Entry Mobile App Description & Overview
What is global entry mobile app? The Global Entry mobile application enables active Global Entry members to report their arrival at any supported airport in the place of a stationary Global Entry portal. You must be an active member in the Global Entry program to use this app.
Simply choose your arrival airport from list of supported airports and submit a photo of yourself to CBP for verification. Be sure to complete this process while you are physically located within your arrival terminal. Once you’ve successfully submitted, you will receive a receipt of your submission that you must present to a Global Entry officer upon arrival. Be prepared to offer further travel documentation upon request. If you are unable to obtain a receipt using the mobile app, you can proceed to an existing Global Entry Portal and proceed with the normal process
The Global Entry mobile application also allows existing Global Entry members to store their CBP Pass ID and (if applicable) select their preferred Class of Admission that will be used by all Global Entry services.
Note: If you are not enrolled in the Global Entry program, you are not eligible to use this mobile application. This app does not enable enrollment for the Global Entry program. You must either proceed with the normal entry process or use the free CBP Mobile Passport Control app.

Global Entry Mobile Comments & Reviews 2026
I spent less than a minute!. I had used the app before through Tom Bradley LAX and I still had to physically present my card and passport to the border official which defeats the purpose of the app. However, on this occasion, passing through Dulles IAD (which is my favourite airport, by the way) was a breeze! I had used the app to take the foto and got a number. I looked for where the GE line was, the lady was asking me to go to the machine to take a foto. But, as soon as I told her I had used the app, she directed me to the border official. He asked me to show him the foto from the app and he waved me through. No inspection of any document. It was so surreal. Everything took less than a minute. This app made all the difference.
Not for families w younger children. You can only have one profile per mobile device. So if you are traveling with children who do t have their own cell phone or mobile device they can access this….it won’t work for you. I have not used the app and probably won’t because I typically travel with my child who does not have those
App is great, some agents do not know about it. As I was taxiing at airport, I easily filled out and received my global entry clearance. Make sure location services are on. The only problem was at sfo, a few of the agents were unfamiliar with it. Once I found the right agent, it was a breeze. I assume with time, that will change.
Snap a photo and go. While heading towards immigration, I selected my port of entry and snapped a photo of myself through the app, submitted it, and then literally walked through immigration. I just showed my phone with the submission screen as I walked past the officer at the exit. Doesn't get any simpler than that.
Never works. I keep getting a message that I am too far away and am unable to submit. Most recently, I was literally standing in the passport control area and connected to the airport’s WiFi and still kept getting this message. My location services settings were set correctly.
Long over due. No easier way to get through customs. But lines are longer now in the short term.
Bye bye kiosk!. This app further streamlines an already streamlined process of expedited entry from international trips. No need for a passport! Just take a selfie when you land and queue up to get your exit card from the Global Entry agent. This last step should also be automated and bypass an agent - let’s go!
Couldn’t be easier!. We arrived in Miami, walked to the passport control, had our photos taken, and finished in under 3 minutes. The longest part of the experience was the walk from the gate to passport control. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Excellent - including for non-US citizen GE members. This app was a pleasant surprise; easy to set up and register and the arrival/entry process using the app was very smooth - I felt it worked even better than the sometimes finicky kiosks. The user interface is clean and easy to use and the selfie/face scan worked smoothly. Great job, CBP!
Still New to Some CBP Personnel. Used the app for the first time departing from Ottawa, Canada back to the US. Used the app after landing in Ottawa. Snapped a selfie of my wife and I, submitted and got a confirmation back in a few seconds. Used the GE line but when I presented the application receipt to the CBP officer, he had no idea what it was. Said he had never seen it before. We had to present our passports and he asked if we had our GE ID cards, which we did. Not sure the app did us much good. Will try again at a different port of entry.
Worked Great. Recommend it. Did it in mine when Global entry kiosk line was jammed. Took me 90 seconds. And then I showed the agent my receipt from the app and I was out…
Not universally usable yet. While I can see the potential of the app, it did nothing for us (in fact, it was just the opposite) in Dublin. Apparently Dublin has yet to implement integration of the app and we did not know until we got to the GE agent. One attribute which I hope is improved is the expiration time of your submission - currently an hour. We submitted just after arriving at the airport, but the lines at the airport took so long, the app timed out without the ability to “refresh” your submission - you start over from scratch. We planned sufficient time for unplanned delays, so this was more an inconvenience (for us and others in line behind us) than a dire situation. I recommend the list of “active” app-friendly airports worldwide be more actively curated rather than just a file dump of Global Entry airports. Hoping to experience the potential usefulness of the app on another trip. A friend used it on his way back from Peru and said it was great. Note - I DO highly recommend Global Entry in any case - very easy and otherwise streamlined even without the app.
This is Excellent!. I downloaded this app while I was in line for Global Entry at EWR last Monday. I was able to enter my info, create an new submission, and skip the line altogether in less than 5 minutes! What a great experience.
Don't use. I attempted to use this app it did not work, on Arrival they could not locate me in the system was sent to secondary no explaination there after bag search they said everything was ok and they let me go fast forward two weeks I was crossing the border was sent to secondary and I was told my Global Entry card would have to be confiscated and to set up an appointment with a Supervisor to find out the specifics.
Love this app. Just used the app at Dulles. I was through in less than five minutes!! Worked perfectly.
JDM. Was made aware of the Global Entry mobile app last week while traveling internationally, downloaded the app immediately used it when I arrived at the airport for my departure flight. It was quick, it was easy, and I would highly recommend.
the new “clear”. Apparently, people who have downloaded the app and gotten pre clearance get to skip the Global Entry line. Yet, it requires you to be at your port of entry before submitting for clearance. But I’m currently literally in line for Global Entry at IAH and the app tells me I’m too far from Houston. Verified location services including precise location are enabled. Tried restarting. This makes the app useless.
5, for now... I just downloaded the app and went through the process of setting up my profile. So, I didn’t actually use the app for its intended purpose yet. But I WAS impressed by how straight forward and easy the setup process was. With all due respect to my fellow workers of the IRS, it would be wonderful if filing your taxes were this easy. It was literally 1- Enter first name. 2- Enter last name. 3- Enter known traveler number. (Plus some minor optional questions such as “participate in optional survey”, “voluntarily use a face picture”, etc.) Next time I travel internationally and have a chance to actually use the app, I’ll revisit. For now, great job developers!
Wake up people. There is no info to input. Global entry has been using facial rec for years now. It submits your picture in the background and you get a receipt if approved. If not approved, use a kiosk. If You people would actually use the app before reviewing we would have better information to base a decision on.
Impressive. I’ve used this twice now in Seattle. Global Entry, itself, has always made customs easier, but this has had me barely breaking stride. Just show the digital receipt to the agent and through you go. Really, really well done.
Needs WiFi. I tried to use this app at SFO July 2024. But I forgot to turn off airplane mode so was not able to connect. No problem. Went through the stationary version easily. Love the idea of this app and will definitely remember how to use it next time.
Bug at the location verification. Today the app asked for an update, post the update I could submit my submission even though I was at the airport. Actually even after I cleared security it did not work, the error message was the location is not at the airport. The bug appears due to the recent update
Speeds up a relatively fast process even more. Full disclosure, I’ve only used this once so far but it was coming off of a 380 into an old terminal (so a setup to overwhelm the capacity). I was able to use this for myself and one other traveler. It allowed us to skip the line in essence. You still have to stop and have your picture taken, and had a brief verbal conversation, but we were not asked to do anything else once we were in passport control (ie, no kiosk needed). The one thing I would add has nothing to do with the app but rather signage at the airport. We had to ask people what to do since we had already used the app. We received verbal instructions to bypass the passengers who would not use the app, but still had Global Entry.
Works great, if you’re at the right airport. Still only available for a few airports, but if you’re using one of them be sure to grab this free app. Even faster than just GE.
Just Awesome!. On a recent international arrival at Seattle, I had a very short connection to a domestic flight to PDX. In Seattle, one had to pick up bags first before proceeding to passport control. While waiting for our bags to arrive, I snapped a picture of myself, wife and son and submitted it. Almost immediately I got three cards with a photo, name, class of admission and a green check mark. I showed them on my way through the GE aisle to the CBP staff and just walked out. Hardly took seconds.
Amazing app. The best of the best Just i would like to place my favorite photo on the profile page instead my initials on this app🥇
Update failed. I’m a pilot I fly international all the time and I have global entry. The app was working but now it tells me I’m to far from the airport when ok literally in the terminal waiting to clear customs. Whatever update you all did to the app for iOS failed and needs to be fix immediately
Will not be able to do interview!!!!. Used this app for interview at customs like it said I could do and it did not work when I was in line. Months and months for an appointment .
Global Entry. I have used this APP for US entry a couple of times and it is simply phenomenal! Don’t have to stop at the portal, you do everything when you land and are taxiing to gate. Head straight to the GE area and go right to the officer processing GE and simply show the app response and they may ask you if you have anything to declare or just say have a nice day.
Love this app… but. This app is great to get a jump start on the Global Entry process while waiting to deplane. However, it would be great if there was a way to cancel and resubmit the submission if the it is not confirmed for some reason (e.g., poor quality photo). Hopefully a future upgrade will offer such a feature.
Breeze through immigration. I’ve entered with the app twice now, no issues and it seemed to make things easier for the immigration officer.
Worked well and easy to use. Used it today. Worked well. Would be great if it supports multiple people in family.
Awesome app, speedy entry back into US. I used this on a recent international trip coming back into the US. You can enter both yourself and your traveling companion’s global entry numbers and skip to the front of the line. We got through very quickly. Five stars.
Simple to use but needs one enhancement. The submission cannot be made until landing back in the U.S. what I found was that most of the entries can be made ahead of time but the picture needs to be taken back on U.S. soil. The problem with this is if it’s dark out, it is harder to take the picture on the plane before deplaning or wait and try to snap it while walking to customs. Or stop and take the picture which defeats the purpose of simplifying the declaration process. The app needs to have a way to allow the picture to be saved within something like a 12-24 hour window. Then when landing merely submit the receipt.
Works 👌🏻. Downloaded in Manila and used upon approaching the gate at O’Hare. You pre-fill your name and # and wait til you’re at your destination. Open the app, select your entry point, take a selfie and voila! You receive a confirmation with a countdown. Flash your app confirmation to the customs agent and move along. Your checkin expires in 60 mins.
Works half the time. I am sure the app will be great when all customs agents are fully trained and app no longer crashes. I have also experienced that when the app gives me my entry number and takes my picture that the info does not always cross over to the agent’s screen in MCO term C resulting in confusion, annoyed customs agents, and sometimes comments suggesting I am doing something wrong till they realize it’s them and not me. Will stick to the old school machines.
Straightforward and easy to use!. This is my first time using it and I was impressed at how simple and easy it was to use. I also noted that the pictures will always be the most recent to your current appearance.
Doesn’t work at DFW. Used the app and was yelled at by the customs officer and told this app “doesn’t exist”. He tried to tell me it was mobile entry and I showed him it was global entry and he said I did not show up on the list even though I followed all the directions. And he even told me that other global entry users who used the kiosk “had priority” over me, despite me also having Global Entry. Not going to use it again.
Was great until latest update.. I use this app multiple times a week as flight crew working international trips. Ever since the app update, I’ve tried everything and it never approves my location for submission. Yes I’ve done all the suggested resets/logging in and out etc etc. Its useless at this point
Great enrollment process. Great enrollment experience, start to finish. Fully completed in less than a week! The person who did my interview at Dulles at 7 pm on a Sunday night couldn’t have been more helpful and kind.
Great app. JFK has a special line within the global entry line for app users. Walked in, showed my receipt on the app screen, and went right through. Worked great.
Parents should have add the toddlers/infants. As a relatively new member, I haven’t used the app yet however as a starter I think it should have a functionality, at least, to add toddler/infants in the app. I hope they will add this feature soon
Govt Done Right. Excellent app. Simple, easy to use. Doesn’t crash. Downloaded this in the mobile lounge at Dulles IAD. Used it 2 min later. Sped through the Global Entry control. Very very good.
This AP rocks for SeaTac. Sister was all bragging on having this App. I am a new Global Entry participant and was unaware of it. She said, no . No kiosk. Just snap pic and go straight through passport control. We both snapped a selfie on her phone and App. Collected baggage, was helpfully directed through line - some marked global entry lines were closed, but awesome staff at SeaTac pointed the way- The friendly officer looked at pics asked for anything to declare (just a bit of alcohol) and waived as through. Amazing. I love this App. Traveling in a month again and so happy I know of it….and I am flying through SeaTac
App works fine, these reviews are absurd. Almost every single ‘review’ so far (Sep 2023) is from someone who has no clue as to how the app works. This app of course doesn’t have a place to enter personal info, such as KTN, because it doesn’t use any of that, so most of these reviews demonstrate ignorance. So far, only 7 airports Seattle Tacoma International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Miami International Airport, Orlando International Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, Pittsburgh International Airport, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport, are available for using the app as of late September 2023. It only works by opening the app once you have landed at your arrival airport which is participating in this early roll out, connecting to the Internet (either cellular or by airport WiFi), and capturing a selfie picture. The app uses your arrival information and the facial scan to match you in the GE database. Once that is verified, you can skip the kiosk and go right to the CBP counter via the GE line.
Important App!!. I really cannot comprehend how this App that holds an important document, does not have a log out option. You close the App with all the info open. Please add a log out option to close the App…!!! I think is very important to safeguard my info before I leave the App. This is why I gave it only 2 stars… Thanks in advance for your help and resolution of this matter.
No option for multiple users (family). Haven’t used it yet however initial setup appears to imply there is no option to add multiple travelers (family members with GE) in same app. Guess everyone needs to have phone (child?) or delete profile and created new after submission of prior one? (Not sure of that would work since first submission might be required to be shown?)
Only the government can do this!. All excited, I downloaded the app to speed up my next entry at SFO only to find it’s not listed as an airport with Global Entry. Plus the app mentions submitting a photo but it’s not clear whether they want a photo from a global entry kiosk or from the phone. If there’s no guidance in an app and it’s not intuitive, it shouldn’t have been built or (prematurely) released. Wonder who the incompetent government contractor was who the CBP paid millions of $ to build an app that’s useless.
Very disappointed. I had high hopes for this app but when I submitted the form (upon landing from Jamaica), I found out that it is only good for 60 minutes. By the time we got our bags the time had elapsed and the person at Global Entry would no longer honor it nor would she let us even enter the Global Entry line. We then missed our connecting flight. I will not use the app again. Will just use standard Global Entry which does work very well.
Premature Release. Here’s a thought, don’t release an app, or include ports of entry if that particular port isn’t utilizing the app (or has never even heard of the app, for that matter). Went through ATL yesterday and the officers literally had no clue about this app. Did not cause any problems more than a 2 minute delay to go back to the kiosk, but seems to me this was rushed to roll out and should be communicated with its officers about its use.

App won’t start. Installing the app and opening it just shows “Loading Error (Retry)” screen. Uninstalling and reinstalling it does nothing to fix this. Please fix.

Will not be able to do interview!!!!. Used this app for interview at customs like it said I could do and it did not work when I was in line. Months and months for an appointment .
Speeds up entry process. Saves you and other passengers time by not having to wait for a kiosk.
Super easy. Was impressed at how easy this was to set up and use and just avoid needing to use the kiosk
Breeze through immigration. I’ve entered with the app twice now, no issues and it seemed to make things easier for the immigration officer.
Third degree in Atlanta. Used the app, took a picture, confirmed concourse F, app said I had 60 minutes to use. Proceed to global entry exit, customers officer assists there is no such thing as a global entry app, and then tells me I do not have global entry without asking for my name or my passport. Go to secondary lane, officer confirms I have global entry, then tells me app works sometimes.
Worked well and easy to use. Used it today. Worked well. Would be great if it supports multiple people in family.
“Loading Error”. Can’t tell how well it works or doesn’t work, because literally all it does is pop up a modal window saying “Loading Error” with a button that says “Retry.” Can’t proceed any further than this, and no amount of retrying achieves anything. Rubbish.
Easiest process ever. We had no wait and simply showed our photos to the officer and walked through
Useless. At MÍA airport the officers make you do everything again and take your pic again too regardless of what it says and regardless of being submitted and having a confirmation number too . It’s a waste of time - the distemper crashed 3 times within 8 mins in line.
Location needs to be improved. It would be great if it always worked. I’m at immigration, in front of the Global Entry machines, and the app tells me I’m too far to submit. Tried three times and did not work.
Loading error. I would love to be able to use this app when I need it, but it keeps giving me a loading error and tells me to try again every time I try to open the app.
Parents should have add the toddlers/infants. As a relatively new member, I haven’t used the app yet however as a starter I think it should have a functionality, at least, to add toddler/infants in the app. I hope they will add this feature soon
Global Entry Expiration Date. Including in the app profile the expiration date of Global Entry status would be useful.
Quick and Easy. Wow if I can get through the lines with this process it’s a great addition for global travelers
the new “clear”.
Stopped working after CrowdStrike issue. Worked fine for since release Until just a few weeks ago - then Stopped working after CrowdStrike issue. No help from app in trouble shooting issue so stuck each time going through customs without use of app
Highly recommended. So easy to use
Error loading after recent update. App is constantly displaying error message while loading. Please check and advise if anything changed recently that is causing this. Thanks.
Could be better. Because this is used for travel… Mostly Airlines , it seems reasonable that there should be some sort of automatic integration with the airline apps, so that verification of global entry/TSA is automatic .
Poor showing. From what I can tell the app caused there to be long lines to get out of passport control. The faces that were being cross referenced weren’t going to the checkers computer and we had to wait for a LONG time. Go back to the old system
Govt Done Right. Excellent app. Simple, easy to use. Doesn’t crash. Downloaded this in the mobile lounge at Dulles IAD. Used it 2 min later. Sped through the Global Entry control. Very very good.
New requirements 11/24. Now you need to stop and have your face scanned when you arrive in Miami even if you use the app. I don’t see any update on the users guide and was sent back to get my photo taken at the airport
Either the app doesn’t work or the TSA is clueless. Used it for the first time today at JFK Terminal 4. The officer at the front of the Global Entry acted like I was from Mars when I showed her the app and asked me to go to a kiosk. The surly TSA officer checking photos said he didn’t know or care about an app. Given their reputation leaning towards useless TSA. But regardless it makes the app useless.
Love this app. Just used the app at Dulles. I was through in less than five minutes!! Worked perfectly.
Global Entry app takes to long to connect with WiFi. The Global Entry app takes too long to connect with airport & plane WiFi, so filling out a re-entry form is useless on this app. Just have your Global Entry card in hand for faster processing which is the whole point of having Global Entry in the first place.
Brand new app has promise. Not sure how to use it though.. I can’t see a way to enter my personal information yet, like my global entry number. And I can only select 7 ports of entry. Hopefully the apps functionality will grow soon. On the other hand, it looks nice. :)
So easy to use. I literally take my photo as I am walking in arrivals hall and it has me going through in seconds.
Unable to recognize current location. While standing in the global entry line, the current version of the app continuously failed to recognize the device location (and kept saying you were too far away from the airport to submit)
Never works. I keep getting a message that I am too far away and am unable to submit. Most recently, I was literally standing in the passport control area and connected to the airport’s WiFi and still kept getting this message. My location services settings were set correctly.
Worked Great. Recommend it. Did it in mine when Global entry kiosk line was jammed. Took me 90 seconds. And then I showed the agent my receipt from the app and I was out…
All travelers should have. This is a great app. It makes re-entry into the country super fast and easy.
Global entry app. Great app and experience for more faster processing I really appreciate all the hard work and which keeps America safe
Loading Error. I just downloaded the app for my iPhone 17. And received a Loading Error message. I also deleted the app, checked for updates and reinstalled with no change, I’m still receiving an error message. Please dedicate time to fix the bug soon!
Amazing app. The best of the best Just i would like to place my favorite photo on the profile page instead my initials on this app🥇
Never been easier. Super fast — thank you!
Bug in Keyboard that pops up. When I tried to type in the known traveller number the keyboard did not let me type in the Alpha characters as it only showed the numbers
Long over due. No easier way to get through customs. But lines are longer now in the short term.
Too easy.. It was a snap to do the initial set up. Everything the govt. does should be this functional.
Very easy to use. Highly recommend. Zip through the line in no time
Miami International Airport. I entered the US on January 3, 2026 at Miami International Airport and encountered a huge, slow moving line for Global Entry. The members of my party who used regular passport control went through way before I got through. That’s not the way Global Entry is supposed to work. Very disappointing.
Great app. JFK has a special line within the global entry line for app users. Walked in, showed my receipt on the app screen, and went right through. Worked great.
Great app. The app saves time even more, you can do it right on the plane while waiting for everyone to get out.
Very efficient app. Used the app to submit our family and we avoided the kiosk scanners. Straight to the CBP officer and were waved out!!!!
Holy cow works well. Hopefully not as many people start using this as have started using global entry lines at the airport ha
Easy and swift!. So easy to sign up and makes it so quick going through
Incredibly Easy!. This app for Global Entry makes the process even easier and faster!
Perfect. Stunningly, this is a simple, straightforward and easy way to clear customs. It’s not well utilized at JFK yet, but I assume that will improve as use broadens. The app itself is great.
Easy to understand. The app was not intuitive and adding another person and pictures was confusing so I skip that. The app felt incomplete and didn’t provide any user benefit statement. Like time saving or more secure.
