Best Greek App for Free. This is the best Learn Greek app for free. But, some of the phrases are kind of difficult to understand, like 'please, you're welcome.' Overall the app is great. I love that you can play the audio, and progresses as you set it too. If you are looking to learn Greek, I recommend you download and use this app.

Great app. I used this after 5 years of Greek school, which did not teach me anything. I finally am getting to the level I have been trying to for 3 years! Now I can communicate with my cousins in Greece!🤗🌈😁

Incorrect spelling. I would’ve gave this a higher review, because it is convenient and makes learning fairly easy but I noticed some of the words(at-least for the Greek version) are spelled incorrect, I’m Greek and got it to touch up on my skills so it was definitely a curve when your uncle calls you out for not knowing how to spell. Kind of defeats the purpose of the app if you’re essentially learning how to spell wrong. If you payed for the full version, like me, it makes you question your purchase. If an update came that went through and corrected everything then this app would be ideal.

A good learning tool. I married a Greek so she's my best source but this app is great when I have time on my own. Recommend it for sure.

Terrific for beginners. I've used this app for about a couple weeks, and I really have been enjoying it. There are several ways to use flash cards, and many options -- playing the recordings hands free, pause time Adjustment, etc. This is by far the best language app I've ever tried

My favorite language app!. I have been using this app for about 6 months and have learned enough for a basic conversation. Perfect to listen to while walking or driving.

More languages should be this simple. Every week I get a set of words and I can just listen to them over and over again until I get the words :) pretty easy

Wonderful app!. I have learned more usable and necessary words in three days than an online class or Duolingo! Duolingo is helpful for learning how to read the alphabet, but this app is helping me prepare for real life situations

The best of all. I am so happy with this app. It covers all the basics and much more. I will be buying the full after I master the challenges they have given for free! This is an update. I decided to purchase the full version. I only wish there were some quizzes. I think it is a great way to learn but I feel boredom setting in.

Great tool for learning but serious bugs to work out. I had been using the free app and recently purchased the extended version so I could get more serious. My complaint is lack of explanation of what tile temperature means. Two default settings have these on and if one leaves them on, not all words in a category appear in the player to practice or appear less often because they’ve been deemed cool words that don’t need as much attention. While that may be helpful after one builds a vocab—deciding what are important words to emphasize—the default shouldn't be to exclude words, or at least offer an explanation of what that means so a user can choose what fits them best. I thought it was a buggy program; turns out I just didn’t like the app’s choices.

I LOVE it. Does what it says. I happily paid for the upgrade and I've already learned 300+ expressions in record time. Great app!

Good App to start a language. I always wanted to learn Greek and this app has been a great tool to use as an introduction and to help with vocabulary memory. It really is very easy to use on the go through a mobile device. It's been great in the car on long trips or commutes. Lots of different settings for customization too.

Great start. This app is a great start to learn basic Greek. I’ve found no way to ‘favorite’ the words you want to focus on learning. The only method I’ve found is to decrease the temperature of all OTHER words so they appear less often in rotation which feels backwards. I also wish I could ‘link’ words to always practice them together (for example hello and goodbye, yes and no, good and bad), I’ve found it easier to remember those types of words (opposites) when learning them at the same time. I would recommend this app!

Love the app. Traveling to Greece so downloaded this app to help familiarize myself with the alphabet, vocabulary and pronunciation. It works very well. I like the various options it provides for learning. I really love the ability to record my practice and then hear it played back with the proper pronunciation from the player. Very helpful to hear where I need to change inflections. Love the app.

Better than other apps. I’ve been using Nemo Greek for several weeks and found I could progress faster with the Player and reversible Flash Cards features than I could with Duo Lingo (which had problems with recognizing my Greek inputs by key and voice on iOS). Nemo Greek is inherently motivating because I’m able to move ahead and view my stats across several simple metrics. I got quite far on the free program and then bought additional content. I was never motivated buy more on Duo Lingo even though they kill you with ads and invitations to upgrade to the subscription every few minutes.

Great app!. 30 minutes a day and you will be speaking Greek in no time.

Great, but.... This app is the best way I have found to learn, that is inexpensive. My only complaint is that: having recently returned from Greece, some of the phrases are not really used the way they present them. For instance: there is no reason to have 'ola' in front of 'entaksi'. I only heard the latter used. It is not really detrimental to learn it that way, but seem a little inefficient.

Pick words to learn. My only frustration is wanting to select the words I want to learn. Maybe I just don’t know how.

Great app!. I use this app while driving and it is excellent! Currently I'm only on very basic words however I hope that the words increase in difficulty as time progresses.

Infinitely impressed -- easy, fun and it works!. This app has thought of EVERYTHING and made learning Greek super fun and easy. I'm up to over 500 words/phrases in about 2 months time. I leave for Greece today and can't wait to practice what I've learned. Def worth the price for the full version.

The free version is a great way to learn basic Greek and get around in Greece.. This was the best Greek app I found. The Greeks speak English in most places, but we’re happy to hear me try and speak some of their language.

Easy to Use. I downloaded this app in lieu of a recent trip to Greece. It was very helpful and what I like the most is the simplicity of it all. The pronunciation is very clear and also available in Greek as well in English so that you may familiarize yourself in terms of reading in Greek.

English voice. The app was fantastic. Out of all the learn Greek apps out there it was the best by far. In a recent update the English voice turned from pleasing to Steven Hawking’s voice. A robotic voice that is extremely distracting and hard to understand. I have emailed support 3 times and received NO reply.

Very useful tool for improving basic Greek. If you can already sound out the Greek alphabet this app can springboard your vocabulary. Easy way spend 5-10 minutes each day, or whenever you have a break. Helps keep your studies front of mind. Use as a supplemental tool while you tackle Greek Grammar separately.

Very useful so far. I just downloaded this app a couple of weeks ago and can see it is a very good vocabulary builder. Unlike regular flash cards, this app varies the presentation, mixing recent, old, and new words in a way to make word learning interesting! I am looking forward to getting to the phrase and sentence building sections.

Helped me win the family over.. My girlfriend's family is Greek and while they never pushed me to learn the language, the surely appreciated my attempts. This app had everything that you could ever seek out as a new speaker other than the alphabet. Because of the fantastic layout and tools that accompany it, it's still a 5 star app to me.

Does its job. Its great- this app really frustrated me though until I learned a good bit off duolingo. That gave me the skills to use this app properly.

Simple and effective, could use some tweaks.. Great app! Simple to use. Effective learning systems. Could use more groupings, since a jump from 10 most important to 50 most important words is a big jump. Also could use better pause control, with shorter pause between English and Greek, yet longer pause between words. Currently only one pause option rules them all. Still a great app.

Very helpful. So far this app has been great. The voice recorder is a nice touch. You can record yourself and hear it with the correct pronunciation. I thought it was too good to be true that it was free. You do have to pay to get the full version or you are only scratching the surface. It was very affordable considering how expensive some of these can be. I am happy so far. No complaints.

This is great!!. This app is fabulous!!! You get new words to learn each day! The auto feature makes it so easy for me to learn new words even though I might not have time. If you don't know the word well you can review it multiple times!! I love this app and I use it everyday. You do have to buy the full version after you learn all the words on the free version. But I think it is worth it!!

Wonderful education tool. I enjoy this application after living in Greece for a few years and now living in the states and helped me hold on to my Greek when I don’t have great friends around me to speak Greek. It’s like a friendly reminder with kind slow patience and happy to repeat as much as needed. 😊🌈

Simple & Effective. After visiting Greece once, I’ve dreamed of going back with the ability to converse in Greek. This app is great! Highly recommend. It helps you learn phrases and words (with the right pronunciation!). Just pick a category and click play. It will shuffle through words/phrases, adding new ones as you go. Continues playing even when the app is in the background. Listening to words repeated frequently for even 10 minutes daily ingrains then in my mind— both Greek pronunciation and English meaning. Since I have no Greek friends to immerse me in the language, this is the next best thing. It’s easy, fun, simple, and incredibly effective.

Fantastic language learning app!. This is not your mother's flash card app. It is a very comprehensive and highly polished vocabulary program that absolutely delivers on what it says it will do, and then some. The 'record your own voice' feature is so tightly integrated into the fabric of the app that one cannot help but improve upon one's accent. It is truly remarkable. It seems as if a lot of time and technical expertise were put into the development of this app, and the developers are to be commended.

Great app, good sound quality.. I think it's the best inexpensive app around. It works great. I have a few suggestions though. First, it would help to see a word in Greek and be able to tap on it and hear it (would be useful with practicing reading). Currently it starts pronouncing a word as it turns a tile from English to Greek side. And Second, some kind of flashcard logic could be useful, too (the tiles do resemble flashcards, but there's no way to indicate if you actually got the answer or not)

Almost perfect!. This works great and I’m quickly adding to my vocabulary. The only thing I would highly suggest is to some how mark a word when you miss it or can’t remember it so it doesn’t go down a heat level. Instead of just swiping to the side, swipe up for correct and down for ones you got wrong so the app knows to give it to you more often still.

Love this App. I’m Greek and I needed a little refresher course this is super user friendly and great for everyone.

Great app. And it would be much better if you had the choice of hearing the Greek word first and afterwards the translation. I don’t give 5 stars because the email for feedback was kicked back…

Great for first time learners ( very easy). Excellent all. Easy to use and it starts with useful words and phrases- I tried another app and it started with complex grammar which I found too difficult. This one is great and has lots of options for how to learn - I really like the one where you record the Greek and compare it to the teacher so you can see where your accent needs improvements, and the one where it just repeats it loads of times (great for when I'm busy doing something else like cooking dinner). Highly recommended

Ms. Simple and easy to use. Very clear pronunciation and written Greek. You can search for a phrase and start practising and building your phrase or vocabulary. We're learning Greek for our 3-week holiday in September, and confident we'll be able to impress a few Greeks.

Not what was expected, wasted money. Paid $18 for the full version to find an app that’s free that actually teaches more than 1.4k words and also teaches how to put sentences together, how to type and is a much easier and child friendly app to use.

Greek app. Great app. News words everyday. It's user friendly and no need to pay.

Very Easy. I love this app! Unlike the other greek apps the words are written using the English alphabet instead of the Greek alphabet. It is impossible to try and learn Greek using the Greek alphabet when you are an English-speaking person.

Rito. I know some basic Greek already (less than 10 words) and want to learn the language for a while now. I have used other apps, but this one, already in the first 30 minutes of using it I have learned so much. Better than learning from videos as you challenge yourself to remember every word and the meaning. I would only wish they had some sort of quiz/writing/other kinds of test to challenge you further but there is already some good features on this app that will help people of all skills and abilities surely learn the Greek language! Excellent!!!

Excellent. I am trying to learn a little Greek for an upcoming trip. I have tried a few different apps, and this is, by far, my favorite. For me, simple repetition works well. I don't like fancy apps with lots of pictures. So, this is a really great fit for me. Thanks!

Educational. I found this to be a fun way to practice vocabulary. I was disappointed by how few words there are in the free version and will continue to look for a Greek-English dictionary with the same functionality as SpanishDict!

Well designed app!. This is the best designed language app I've found on the AppStore. The ability to record your pronunciation is outstanding, the graphics are simple and easy to read, the app is responsive and easy to learn and explore. The vocabulary is well chosen, options for adjusting introduction, speed and pauses is great! I'm deducting one star because the option to exclude words doesn't seem to work. I don't want to repeat the 300-500 words I already know. Second, I'd really like to be able to add my own words to it. Third a number of words/phrases are repeated, lowering the actual number of actual new words learned. Despite that, this is the most helpful of the language apps I've tried and I bought the $10 upgrade to get 1400 words. I've tried Duolingo and Vocabulary Trainer, Learn Greek Delux, iLang's Basic Greek, and a couple others, but this is the one I like best. Thank- you for a responsive elegant app that works seamlessly.

Good App. I have been using this app for two weeks in iambs learning the vocabulary. It has a number of features that are helpful especially for use while driving. I think I would like more phrases and examples of conversation, but maybe that comes later.
