PayByPhone Parking Comments & Reviews 2026

Kind of does what it’s supposed to, but horribly designed.. It’s hard to believe this app was chosen by cities to handle public parking. The entire app is poorly designed, has an ugly interface and barely any useful functionality. The notifications are laughable. It only confirms that you parked (which is obviously redundant to having just confirmed that in the app), and doesn’t give a 15-min expiration warning or anything that would actually be helpful. Turning on location seems to *remove* the ability to locate via map; instead it just shows me a wallpaper of a city landmark. These are design choices that frustrate users because they’re so far outside of normal app functionality. Parkmobile is 1000x better and if you have the option, I highly recommend using that instead. Update: Thanks for the response from developers recommending to turn on location settings and to… read up on notifications. They are both enabled but unfortunately neither feature works regardless.

Not user friendly for those not tech savvy. If you are in a hurry, you may have issues with setting up the app at your parking spot. It takes some minutes to set up your profile and car. That’s frustrating. Used for 1st time last summer and not again until this year. I forgot that it logged a specific vehicle. So this year in a different vehicle and ended up paying for parking for a car I wasn’t in. No way to fix. Added todays vehicle and paid again. Sigh. I will say it’s nice to extend and pay while still away from my car. However, once I did have to go back because it wouldn’t extend. App need to have you verify your vehicle before paying. Recommend setting your phone to remind you to extend. The app reminds you but my phone was not set to vibrate so I missed one reminder. The app is ok once set up but needs a few tweaks. Overall my feelings are mixed. My main quibble is with the town of Gettysburg that gave no pay with credit card at the meter nor ahead info you need the app and extra time to deal wi it.

App doesn't work. Can't add vehicle. Online and Phone support are non-existent.. I'm so frustrated after 30 minutes of trying to add my vehicle license plate to the app. It's just 1 letter and 3 numbers and it errors every time, error 400, or it tells me it has to be a 1-12 digit combination of let's and numbers. I can add any other combination of letters and numbers as a vehicle, EXCEPT MY DEAL LICENSE PLATE. The chat bot is awful, and the rep phone numbersdo do anything for technical support. The one menu option I got for technical support just automated me to a satisfaction survey instead of a person and ended the call. Broken app. Broken web page. Brown phone numbers. And I will now get parking tickets because I can't pay for it and it's not my fault.

App is great, customer service not so much. I did a parking purchase in pay by park app for 8 hours, I stayed about 30 min in the parking because I was trying to call them couple of time since they say the customer line is busy and can’t take my call, I have an emergency and had to leave right away, tried to call them couple time to change my duration for parking and a refund but they said if it’s more than 20 min parking they can’t do anything about it and I have to pay the full price, the person on the line said she understand but wouldn’t resolve my problems and there’s nothing they could do for me, I even asked them to charged me for the duration I stayed instead, Maria is her name, she’s not professional, doesn’t understand to be a customer resolution means, have to ask a lot of my question with her supervisor, without me talking to her supervisor, and she doesn’t fit to be one. I’m not the type of person who will write a bad review, because i’m in the customer service industry myself. I love the app, it’s very convenient, I just hoped, I had a better customer service experience.

Ease of use. This app is phenomenal! It sends me reminders that I need to add time or hurry up and finish what I’m doing. In addition - no receipts to carry, I have multiple cards on file for personal or business expenses, and the receipts come via email! But the single best thing about this - I don’t have to wait for the meter/station to take care of my transaction. 90% of the times I parked and then tried to pay, it took way too long - and then, half the time the transaction didn’t even go through! The people you have on phone duty are wonderful! Thanks!

App works, rate info totally wrong. I’m standing in front of multiple signs installed by the parking company that’s using this service. Assuming they’re the same company, they need to learn how to sync up with the parking rates here. In Kirkland, WA there are signs everywhere that say 0-2 hours free to park, then $3 an hour after that. Well, if you go to register your vehicle, they want $3.50+ per hour immediately. So I didn’t bother paying because I’m not being unfairly charged if nobody else is paying for up to 2 hours parking. Someone should really sync this up and get this right. Take photos of your vehicle and time you parked just to have some proof in case someone wants to try towing.

Exactly what an app should be. I love this app. It’s the greatest type of app because of its simplicity and time savings. The first time I used it, setting up my account (entering car license plate and cc number) took less time than if I had walked to the pay station. The second time I used it, it took me approximately 10 seconds to open the app, enter the location number, select my time needed, and hit pay. Plus, it’s saving me money because I don’t have to do the max time “just in case.” If I need more time, I just add it. And I get reminders right beforehand. I wish more apps were as simple and intuitive as this. It actually DOES save me time. And the interface design is really nice. I really like the clean white and green color scheme. Congrats to Seattle for choosing the perfect app.

Good, but where is the map?. It works pretty well, but why am I always typing in codes? It knows my gps. Just show me the map and I can pick the pay station with one tap! Or QR codes on the signs - especially now that iOS supports QR codes natively in the camera app. Could be so much faster to use. The other annoying thing is I usually want max time - and unless you can calculate the exact total minutes, it’s a lot of taps to switch to hours and then type in the correct hour. Could be just one tap! Ironically, the physical pay meters are easier to use in this way - they have an add-time button. A few taps and you are at max time.

Avoid This Useless Parking App!. I am absolutely furious and feel completely ripped off by this so-called "phone parking" app. I paid $2 for what should have been 4 hours of parking, only to encounter a nightmare experience due to this app's incompetence. Here's what happened: After parking and paying the $2 fee through the app, I assumed everything was in order. However, just 3 hours later, I returned to find my car had been towed away. There was no warning or notification from the app about any issues. To add insult to injury, I had to shell out a staggering $650 to retrieve my towed car. On top of that, I received a ridiculous $110 parking ticket. All because this app failed to inform me that the parking spot's zone had changed to white after 6pm. I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT use this app unless you want to waste your money and endure unnecessary stress. It is incredibly frustrating that an app supposedly designed to simplify parking could fail so spectacularly at its most basic function—keeping users informed about their parking status. Save yourself the hassle and financial burden. Look for another parking app or stick with traditional parking meters. Anything would be better than risking hundreds of dollars due to this app's incompetence. I hope this review helps others avoid the frustration I experienced. Trust me, steering clear of this app is the best decision you can make.

Doesn’t work well. For the supposed convenience, this app is a step down from the old pay machines in our lots. The camera functionality to add a credit card is unusable. It takes the photo way too fast to center the card in the box and requires multiple clicks to retake a photo. The app doesn’t let you park before enforcement hours start, you have to either set a reminder to pay right at the beginning of enforcement hours or pay for time you don’t need to. I’m also not a fan of the business model of passing the convenience fee on to customers, but that seems to be an industry wide thing.

Beyond Confusing. Ok, so I payed for a spot in the UCSF lot, but the app provides ZERO info such as the address to tell me which lot or what the address is. Is this pass good for any UCSF lot? Just one lot? No way to tell, no phone number, no info, zilch. Oh, and the map is beyond ridiculous. You can’t even search for the venue number. Just look at a map of the area, which seems to show parking locations. But you click and click, and most of the time you can’t select one, or it zooms in and several icons appear in the place of the one. And you have to be able to click on one to see the number. So I guess I’m supposed to just try clicking these throughout the hundreds of locations in San Francisco until I happen to find the location? I mean, at the very least, if you refuse to list the address of the garage, and not allow me to search the location number, the least you could do is have the location number visible as you view the map. It’s a great concept, but definitely needs some work.

City ripping of its residence. The city clams the only reason there are meters in the city is to make parking spaces available. If this was true they would give refunds if you give up you space before you paid time is up. Why does the city make me pay for 3 spaces at the same time? If l leave one space and I still have 25 minutes left why can I not apply that 25 unused minutes at the next space I park at? I am freeing up the first space but not getting any incentive to do so??? The city needs to stop being disingenuous or stop ripping the residences of the City!!

Bad App and Worse Customer Service. On two occasions, although I had paid for parking using the app, I received a parking ticket. When I contacted them for a refund, they refused to refund the money and instead requested that I resolve the ticket with the parking court. So, instead of refunding the money as a show of good customer service, they preferred that I file a notice of appearance with the court, spend at least three hours of time at court waiting the have the matter addressed, and ultimately risk having court fees assessed. This app has a wonderful racket going on. You give them your money to park, they won’t guarantee it gets paid, and if you get a ticket, they won’t refund the parking payment. Instead, you’re left to waste time at the court. Come to think of it, there might be a good class action lawsuit here.

Recieved parking ticket Using this app. Recently I received 2 parking tickets from using this app!😡😡😡 it was not even on the correct dates that I parked there. I was still living in Framingham and on Christmas Eve I had parked in Wellesley hills train station! However I paid these 2 tickets because I was leaving the country for 3 months! No I had to use this same parking location one other time and still recieved another ticket. Mind you the date was still incorrect. Today I am forced to use this location due to the Corona Virus outbreak. Our usual garage is closed. If I receive a ticket today I will be appealing it and filing a complaint to the better business bureau .

I was reluctant to try, but oh yes this is better. I was reluctant to try because I felt these apps could turn into “use this app to park here, use that app to park there”, but it’s not like that and it’s soooo much better than kiosks or individual meters. It’s really great not having to leave your car and walk over to wherever the kiosk is in bad weather only to wait behind clueless people. Likewise it’s really cool to get the alert and just add more time. And a special thank you for using OCR instead of ugly QR codes on the signs.

Payments In App. This app is one of the best I’ve used and having said that, I have a developer request. Please add in app payments for citations or missed parking incidents. The MBTA has a two month notification delay on missed parking and in most cases I realize it next day and could just pay it then. They send out a paper notification and I have lost some and had to pay fines for non-payment. I’ve never gotten citation, but paying inside the app would pull everything together in one place.

Works well unless you have an unauthenticated wifi connection. Has been great for a few years especially being able to reload parking from afar. My only heartache was once running late and the App continuously refused to find the zone I entered and without any sort of error message. Turns out my phone had camped on a WiFi from the office building without bringing up the sign on page. So the app couldn’t reach home to validate the zone number. Once I turned off WiFi it worked fine but had me wound up for 15 minutes before I figured it out. Had the app given some sort of connection error I would have been set.

Don’t too small and faint!. I just installed the app and haven’t yet used it for parking payment. But I’m concerned about its usability because of the very small and faint text font used. Even with my reading glasses I have to squint and make effort to read the text in the app. And in real-world parking situations the ambient light might be bright, making light gray or light green text very hard to read. Interestingly, when I took the survey on the site my text answers were in larger/thicker black font and were easily readable! Please honor real-world usability needs rather than the trendy design fad of almost unreadable text.

A great concept, however…. Being able to pay and adjust how much is a great concept. However, today, when I overstayed my limit, for some reason, the app disconnected from my parking space, not giving me the option of adding more money for more time. I think that we users should have to sign out manually before we are disconnected. After I wrote the paragraph above, I discovered that PayByPhone had alerted me via text message, and then by tapping the link in the message I could get back to my original parking arrangement. So I take it all back and now find that PayByPhone is a great app!

Drawback. Although it’s very convenient to pay by phone, especially if you’re at the beach I decide to stay, don’t be fooled by the purpose of this app, which is the bag you when you’re over time. My meter ran out and I reloaded the app four minutes after the time but when I return to my car I had a $30 ticket waiting for me. The people who run this, get on their computers expiration is so they could immediately run to the car and give you a ticket. I bet if I had the old printed ticket on my dashboard they would’ve never even gone to my dashboard to see it. Keep that in mind. Of course I’m pleading not guilty to my ticket and have proof that I paid before and after with a four minute lapse between times of reloading. We’ll see what happens.

Pointless app unless you have location number 😂. So I paid the first time manually through the parking meter. Later when I tried to pay through the app since I’m away from my car, the app asks me for my gps access which I grant since I assume I could still try to use my current location to find my car since I’m still kind of within the area. The problem? It doesn’t use gps for you to try to find where you park and it doesn’t let you enter the location where you parked, it asks you specifically for the “location number”😂 what was the point of asking me for access of my gps if you still need the location number. And if you forgot to take a picture of the “location number” or if you have to park longer then the time you thought you would need, then you wouldn’t be able to search up the street you parked at since you need a “location number” to pay for parking 😂 this isn’t convenient to use 😂

Why no flexibility?. Decent app, but there are a couple of things they should add to make it friendly. 1. The ability to transfer my parking from one location to another. I may be running errands and not sure how long I’m going to stop at one spot, so I pay for an hour and then get in and out quickly. Now I have to waste that time and then pay again at the next place I stop. Once I pay, the time should be valid for any space that costs the same rate. 2. I should be able to set a maximum time in the app, so that if I don’t hear the notification telling me my parking is about to expire, the app will automatically renew it up to the limit that I set.

Clunky. Had to update my review because the latest updates keep going further and further in the wrong direction. I park in the same place with the same car and use the same credit card every work day; this app has always made that a chore and it has only gotten worse with the updates. Two big problems, one; even though they have a captive audience (most locations force you to use this app and only this app if you want to park), the makers continue to try to force you into using location services -presumably to sell your location data. This is clearly bogging down their servers at peak times. Problem two; the designers of this app have no clue about frictionless design and require the same inputs day after day instead of being smart enough to consolidate those inputs into one “repeat previous” button.

New users beware. This app and the meter maids that work with it are all about making sure that new users to get a ticket on their first use of the app. The app is not clear on times of rate expiration, and initially allows for a three minute parking, giving the sense that the metering portion of the day is coming to an end in three minutes. that is not the case. Also they do not allow addition in hours, you have to do it in minutes. It’s very deceptive. I parked two rented cars for my family and I got two fines on the cars because I did not understand what this app was talking about. each ticket was $50 so I get to pay $100 plus whatever other difference the app is going to charge for paying it because I’m not a Florida resident. I will try to contact Customer Service tomorrow because today I’m celebrating the wedding of my daughter! and spent nearly an hour trying to park two cars and get all of the app coverage correct and extending the time of parking the vehicles. that two is not user-friendly.

Best app. I remember hearing a friend say that this was the best app. Hard to figure how a parking app is the “best app”. I now 100% agree. Once you park, you open the app, it finds the closest meter # (and if it doesn’t you can just look out your window for the closest numbers you see and type them in), you enter the amount of time you want to park, you get to see the cost before paying and then you pay. You get reminders when your time is running low and you can just up the time from your phone. It makes paying for parking and upping your time super easy. And I haven’t had it glitch out once. That’s what makes it the best app: it’s easy to use, it makes an annoying experience less so, it’s expeditious, it’s convenient, it’s free and it’s reliable.

Good app. Zero star customer support if something goes wrong. Have been using this app for a few months with only good things to say until tonight. After I paid to park and walked out a different exit I saw a sign on the lot explaining that it was permit parking only / tow away 24/7. I’d already paid but didn’t want to risk it and get towed. Annoyed, I moved my car and found a spot at another lot. Called customer support to explain (and suggest that they change their signs in that lot). I expected a quick fix refund - but they told me I’d need to call another number. Their customer support couldn’t transfer the call to their own refund dept... and the person I was talking to couldn’t authorize $3 refund - ugh. pathetic. Don’t waste your time

Worthless. After entering all the necessary information - car registration, two credit cards (the location apparently didn't accept amex, which the app might have mentioned before letting me enter one), and email, the app kept telling me my "quote had timed out." I retried a few times, ensuring the time from quote to being told it was timed out was < 20 sec. Incidentally it worked fine on the website, I spent a fraction of the time there. Lesson: pass on the app, just use the web directly. Update: questionable privacy claims. It says location id both linked to you and not – wouldn't those be mutually exclusive – and it says that financial information is not linked to you, in which case it shouldn't need any information at all (if the app interacts with the parking sites payment system directly). It uses a *lot* of third party APIs (including Google Analytics) – as in, a boat load.

New version removed important feature. Overall, a great app and a time and money saver. I'm giving 4 and not 5 stars because they removed a feature that I liked a because the new version is very slow to load. The app use to allow you to select the time period with both an hour and minute selection. For example, 1 hr and 20 min. The new app version removed this and only allows one to enter hours or minutes, but not both. Again, the load time is slow so if they could make it load faster, that would save time.

Didn’t work. App wouldn’t process my transaction when I was parking. Tried different cards, but to no avail and despite many repeated attempts. Verified my information was correct, but my transactions would not go through. Tried my cards out in the store late and they worked just fine. Had to scrounge up cash and was lucky I had any. (Paying with cash turned out to be another little nightmare, as the kiosk kept rejecting my dollar bills that were not perfectly flat. I had to keep ironing out a tiny crease. I know the kiosk’s temperamental nature is not at fault of this app, but it certainly didn’t help the situation. If this app was an option and this app is supposed to be smart, convenient, and useful.... well, it wasn’t this day.) Really disappointing. The interface is just short of pleasant and intuitive. It ran slowly. I also wonder if the app struggles to process payments, then how it would do when you need to quickly park and move on, or when you need to modify your parking transaction. This app has left a very poor impression on me.

Disaster. Unable to set up an account using my mobile, because system doesn’t seem to recognise a 6 in a license plate. Just shuts down data entry: error message tells me to start again. Unable to create an account using the app. Tap “register” to create an account and error message says log-in information is incorrect. Tried to contact Support but can’t submit the request - error message says I need to enter e-mail address (which was entered correctly). I have never come across such an awful process. Update: account now set up and it seemed it was partially set up already, even though no prior indication of that. Not a straightforward process, but hopefully I can now use the service.

Good app only with good connection. The app is easy and works well but when you are located in a marginal cell service area, as many places are along my train route, it would be nice if the app stored attempted payments and reminded you to later on that payment still needs to be processed to avoid penalties. Also, it would be extremely useful for the app to send notifications if you arrive at one of the Pay and Park locations reminding you initiate the payment. These are very common and simple programming tool available on multiple apps. Other than that it’s a simple payment app.

Pay By Phone is a must if you live or work in the city.. Pay By Phone is a must if you live or work in the city. I live on Market Street in the Civic/ SOMA/ Hayes cluster f of San Francisco. It's nearly impossible to park on the streets in my neighborhood without getting a ticket at some point. I can't believe I waited so long to download PBP because it's so much easier to avoid getting 👆that ticket I just mentioned and it makes parking cheaper than paying for a garage. Granted, I'm not working rn so I guess (? 🤨!!) I can make time to deal with a meter since I can't afford garage parking. Thanks to all involved with this app. Its incredibly easy to use, takes me (waaaay) less than a minute to pay my meter, and I don't have to go downstairs (!!). I can't live and I won't park in San Francisco without PBP. Ever. Again.

Latest release major feature regression. In this latest release, you cannot extend an active parking session. This is a huge loss of functionality. Until this is restored, the app gets 1 star. You pay a premium for paying via the app vs paying directly at the meter. Part of the justification for this, on the user end, is the convenience of being able to extend a parking session without returning to the meter. With this patch, the user has to watch their parking session like a hawk, and start a new session when the first is over. But you can’t even just choose repeat parking. You have to enter the location number all over again for select it from the map. Really poor update. Restore extend parking, and it gets 5 stars. Right now, this version is pretty bad.

They are stealing money. Be aware! The app will show you an accurate parking zones around you, you with your best intentions will pay for the parking and when you’ll be back you can find an “unpaid parking” receipt on your windshield with fines. That’s what happened to me. I have contacted the support at the receipt and got a response that they don’t work with Pay By Phone app. So I contacted the support of the app to hear “it’s not our fault if you confused similar looking parking apps”. Ok, BUT they never answered my question, even if I made a mistake of opening similar looking app why Pay By Phone give to its users like me the opportunity to book the parking and collects the payment for the parking in a correct zone even if they don’t work with that lot? Doesn’t that mean they stole those money I paid for my parking from me?

Will take your money with no receipt. I've used this app paying my commute parking for over a year. Once every couple months I get a notice in the mail from the MA bay transit authority (MBTA) saying I haven't paid for parking for a couple days that I actually paid for. This app doesn't store your receipts and its transaction history gets randomly deleted, so I've had to comb through my credit card statements to prove that I have paid. Couple recommendations to PayByPhone: (1) fix your transaction history, and (2) communicate better with the Parking authorities on who is paying.

Payment method is quirky. Overall the app works well. I use it three times per week at a Boston area MBTA station. The minor annoyance is the payment system. I pay using a pre-tax commuter parking benefit card. When there is not enough balance, it correctly rejects the card. But when I select another card on file, such as a regular credit card, it rejects that one too. It does not accept payment unless you add a new card from scratch. I. Other words, it keeps rejecting payment until a new card is added, even if you delete a valid card on file and reenter the same one. Also, it does not allow you to edit a card and enter a new expiration date; you must delete and reenter.

Very convenient. Easy and very convenient to use. For some reason the location services providing the location number doesn’t always work. Very often pay while walking away and have to return because the location was not provided by the system. The feature about the last parked places is great yet it would be better if the explanation would be clearer. It’s difficult to figure out the location especially when parked is close by places.

If you don’t have this, you’re over complicating your life. This app is the best. It saves all your vehicle and payment information, so you can pay for parking before you even leave your vehicle. So easy to use! Picture this: you go to a restaurant, park 8 blocks away, and pay for an hour of parking, but while you’re in the restaurant you see your dearest of friends you haven’t seen in a year, and you’re neck deep in catch up sauce when you realize parking is going to expire. This app will notify you that parking is about to expire, and will let you add time from wherever you are. No more sentimental experiences being interrupted by pesky parking restrictions at an inconvenient distance. Also, if a parking area is only metered until a specific time, the app will not allow you to overpay for those free minutes. Additionally, if you desperately need four hours of parking in a two hour parking spot, you can start with a printed ticket at the stand, make note of the parking indicator, and two hours later initiate two more hours of your parking with the app. Not sure if this is regulated somehow, so use this tip at your own risk. Cons: if people know you have the app, you’ll just have to be honest about why you’re leaving your friends. You can no longer use parking meters as an excuse to leave a conversation just so you can go Netflix and chill or play with your wii

Lacks the ability to choose minutes or end parking early. How app works is great, HOWEVER, there is one problem that I have encountered couple times. I don’t know if it for US only, but the only time I can pick is hours or days, which isn’t really useful feature. Already two times I overpaid for the time simply because there is no option to end parking for the ACTUAL USED time. Sadly, this app is the only one that is used on my campus. I know that it is relatively cheap parking, nevertheless, the couple dollars went to waste can be donated to help someone.

Camera scanning option does not work. This application has a ton of perks and is easy to use. Bravo. however, the camera function for scanning the numbers on a parking meter does not work on my iPhone 13 Pro. Forgive me for being lazy and whining but it’s 2023 for Pete’s sake and this is a feature that the developers of this app intended for the application to have, so either remove the feature since it doesn’t work, or update the app to make it work! Thanks

Horrible interface for regular user!. Some really bad UX on this app. First, if you use this app regularly for the same location, e.g., MBTA parking lot, you still need to go through six different button clicks to do it. Should be easier to have a “speed dial” type of option to fast track the purchase. If you don’t add a vehicle description when you first set it up, you cannot edit the existing car and update it. You need to delete the existing car first then add it back in. Take a screen shot or remember your license plate first though! How long should a description be? I don’t know if there’s a perfect answer, but trying to add “Subaru Outback” as a description and told it’s too long, seems like they need to rethink their field lengths! If you don’t add a description, you will need to know your car just by the license plate - there’s no other means of identifying it. Overall, a poor execution on what should be an easy app to create.

App Makes it Easy to Park; Suggestion to Make Even Easier. The Pay By Phone app has dramatically improved the convenience of parking on city streets. I love being able to extend my meter without having to go outside. My one recommendation would be to add support for iOS live activities. This would make it easier to see how much time is left on your parking meter at a glance without having to go into the phone. Overall this is a great app, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

Spyware. This app requires a verified email address and a phone number to use. The reason? Notifications and the sale of your habits. They know when and where you park, and actively sell that info to other 3rd parties. This company is awful and it is incredibly disappointing that the local municipalities have gotten in to bed with them. Prices are stupid high. End users see no benefit to using this app. Literally no benefit. It’s all marketing and they and their partners will spam you with stupid “offers”. Avoid if you can…IF…(impossible as they have a monopoly on the meters and garages in my area). Update. To the dev. This does not stop you from selling my verified info the the highest bidder. You are part of the problem

Seamless. This app is extremely user friendly, and after the initial setup , is easy to navigate. It will tell you if you exited the app before your transaction was completed.. handy. Just wish there was some feature that could help find a vacant spot to park, like when someone leaves their spot. I drive a full size big pickup truck, and even though I am a master parallel Parker, it still takes about an acre to completely turn around. Something that would figure in the size of your vehicle, and match you to a parking space that fits. But closes-ish to your intended destination.

Seattle Parking Made Easy. I work installing communications equipment in Seattle and Olympia WA. The parking app allows me to easily pay for parking and then submit the parking receipts to my employer at the end of the week. The app has become one of my “tools” when I work in Seattle or Olympia. I have told other people who park in Seattle about it and they tried it and love it too. Additionally, when one of my jobs takes longer than expected, I can easily extend my parking time on the app without going back to the street and putting more money into the ticket vending machine. Really makes my life easier.

Works poorly with congested bandwidth. The commuter rail station I park at is in a small town an hour outside Boston. Cell service is fine except for when it hits high saturation levels as is the case in the 10-15 minutes prior to an inbound train arriving. That’s when this app doesn’t work at all. It seems like it always has to talk to a server for every step of the transaction: pick location, pick vehicle, retrieve parking rates, make financial transaction. However, my banking apps, train ticket app, other apps still work in the same situation, although slower, but still work! I have to wait to do my parking transaction until the next train stop which is at a bigger city center and had more cell service capacity. Seems like work needs to be done on the app to make it more efficient on the backend. If I mark a location as a favourite (spelling intentional) then why isn’t the favorites tab presented to me first? And when I pick a favorite location why does the app have to go verify the location exists? Maybe you need to work on your analytics and caching.

Don’t work all the time. I usually don’t have this type of problems and I’d like to get good reviews but just because of the incident that I had this morning where I actually got a ticket because I don’t know what happened with the application either it took to long to process we didn’t process at all he doesn’t work all the time I went to the courthouse by the time I got out I had a ticket I can’t explain how does that happen I don’t know if it’s because the application was not fully loaded Jessica’s of that incident I actually didn’t give a good review.

Lacks basic functionality. Doesn’t support native password managers to make login easier; doesn’t support auto-filling and pasting content like phone numbers and passwords into input fields; has pointless character limits on vehicle description fields; purports to support ApplePay but, for me, it didn’t work at all; and (last but not least in this app’s deficiencies) doesn’t allow auto-filling of credit card information, which means I had to stand on the sidewalk awkwardly keying in every detail of my credit card just to pay $1 for 30 min for parking. Cities should be ashamed of abdicating parking payment to an app that can’t do the most basic things in each of its key workflows.

College Student Here. You know, the convenience of the app is great. It’s super easy to set up and input all of your information. Once you get your parking location it’s just a few clicks but the one big issue I have is that it’s hourly. I go to college and the campus took out the money meters for this app and there are multiple times where I just need 20 minutes or less for parking. It would be amazing if they figured out a way to charge per 20 minutes instead of charging me $1 at least every time I use the app. It’s only $1, I know but I’m a broke college student like many others and would like to not spend $1 most days per year just to park for 15-20 minutes. Great app though!

Be sure to read the fine print. I was a big fan of this app - until I started getting charged for parking options I never chose. I park in the same parking zone often but for a short period of time. I would choose 30 minute parking and it would give me 1hr30 parking and charge me for the extra time. The app continues to show me the 30 min option, but every time I choose that, charge me for 1hr30. I finally saw that there is tiny writing at the bottom of the option page saying that I would be charged a certain tarif for 30 min the first time, but a different tarif thereafter for 30 min. The large print options never change though. I find this quite misleading. This is unfortunate for an otherwise very useful app.

Does the job well. I've used this app only a few times but so far has worked flawlessly. Not only does it take away the need to carry change but I really like being able to buy more time without having to go back to the car. Very happy using it

Unreliable. I have had confirmation come up on screen and still get a “parking ticket” and only on opening my email when I get home do I find that payment was not in fact processed.

PayByPhone. Easy to use, cheap and easy

Good but needs more payment options. App is great and easy to use but I don’t like having to pay by the hour. Should have an option to add 30 minutes or even an option to just press ‘start parking’ and ‘end parking’ and just pay for that amount of time.

Nice different unusual. The app functions quite well but it would be cool if you could choose the time by an hour (eg 6pm) as an end time to your parking, as well as still having the options of hours and days. Otherwise, pretty good.

Never managed to get it to work. Not intuitive and didn’t show most of the parking stations I was looking for, even though they had signs to use Ringo. Save yourself time and frustration by having change on hand (usually no notes).

Convenient app. Happy with what d app can do. Useful feature to add is a geo location based reminder. Where as u arrive to ur usual parking lot a notification to remind d driver to open d app and pay the parking for the day.

Ordinary. The App is a great idea but it simply never ever works properly. Never. Ring the phone number and that works well, but don’t waste your time trying to purchase parking through the app.

Half hour increments please. Be better if you could pay in half hour increments!!!

For money hungry councils. This app is so much worse than paystay. With this up you have to designate an amount of time and pay for that full allotment, so if you get back to your car early you have already paid in advance, and you don't even get the small amount of joy of providing time on the meter for another patron. With paystay however you only pay for the time you were parked which saves me almost $30 a week. If your council is using this app they are revenue hungry and deserve to be exploited as much as possible.

Quick & easy!. Have been using it all this week & am loving it!!! Would like: 1. A separate area that displays current parking. So I don't accidentally pay again 2. Access to the pay invoice from the app

Shocking support for Australian users. I have tried to update my debit card details … by phone, online, I tried deleting the app and reloading… to no avail…. No decent support either. Will go to cash to pay for parking

Pay by app?. What a ridiculous way to run a parking lot. This is a disgraceful joke of a system.

Not secure. I had multiple small payments taken from my debit card as soon as I downloaded this app

Parking made easy. I find the App easy to use and it simplifies the whole process. I especially appreciate the warning that my parking is coming close to expiring. I’m notorious for accidentally overstaying. Too bad you haven’t got fuller coverage in all municipalities

Not intelligent. Stupid app doesn’t allow you to pay for parking in advance of when parking time for the car park commences. Resulting in needing to go back to app after you park the car at the time parking start to pay for parking. Miss it by a few minutes and you end up with a fine. This looks like a deliberate strategy so that they can rack up parking fines as they always seems to get you at 1min after the time starts.

Super good App. Quick and convenient! And cheaper than equivalent parking meter.

No advantage to using this application. Does not give you the option to pay for real time parked, you still have to pay in decimal increments like one or two hours. So if you pay for two hours and need to leave after half an hour you don’t get a refund. This could easily be fixed with a simple algorithm where you log in once arrived and log out and get billed when you need to leave. Real time parked would make sense if paying digitally.

Pay Parking. Great concept so much better that going to the terminal/paystations to line up to pay particularly when cold and raining

Clayton campus parking. Very easy, convenient way to pay for parking

Can only pay in one hour intervals. Let us pay in smaller intervals. If parking ends at 4:00 and I park at 3:40 I still have to pay for an hour

Fraction of an hour.. Let us pay at least in half an hour increments. Charging me 3 hours when there’s only 2:15 left (until the parking restrictions are up) is ridiculous.

Well it works, but barely. Well, the app does work to pay for parking in my local area, but it’s barely functional. It comes across like an app that was built by a school student for an assignment, in about 2 hours. Though it’s been out for ages, I’m still waiting for someone to finish it. Apart from the clunky design, the reminders and notifications of impending parking expiry never seem to work. The one time they did, they arrived exactly 12 hours late! By all means use this to pay for parking if you can be bothered, but definitely don’t rely on it to remind you when your parking is expiring - you’ll just end up with a parking ticket. Set a separate timer instead.

Can’t pay by minutes. Would be good if we can pay by minutes or even half hourly.

Update doesn’t work. Since updating the app I cannot login and the password reset doesn’t work. Prior to this update it was a really good app.

This app ensures motorists get fines. (1) Unlike PayStay there's no reminder when your time's about to run out. (2) Unlike PayStay you can't just set a limit (say 2hrs) and then ONLY pay for the time you've actually used if you come back to your car earlier. The only reason a council would use this service over the ones which WORK is (like Yarra City Council) that they want to earn money they're not entitled to (see point 2) or want to catch motorists out so they can issue lucrative fines (see point 1)

Rip off. Won’t let you pay for less than an hour. It’s a rip-off

Nothing special. This app works fine, but it does nothing more than put a parking meter in your pocket. The parking tab is simply a HTML container, so it lacks productive functionality that you might hope for. Simple things like notifications when your fee is about to expire, or not having to wait for the app to re-load when you switch back to it could be simply solved. As far as usability is concerned, Park Mobile is a much better app. But your hands are tied by what's been put in place. A bare-minimum effort.

Scammers using this business. I provided a credit card as a method of payment and within half an hour 140 dollars worth of unauthorised payments were made from my account .

Update doesn’t work. I can’t use this new update - it keeps giving me a failed log in screen over and over no matter what I do. Even when just trying to use the app. Please fix it! I like using this app.

Great App!. So much easier than having the right change. Plus if u r not near your car and need more time you can just extend the time from your phone without going back to your car.

Very convenient. Love that you don't have to carry change around with you anymore. If I don't know how long I will be, I just choose 10 minutes or so and I can extend that time without having to go back to my car.

Me. Sometimes I need to leave earlier, can you make this option (like other companies) so people can stop parking whenever they want?

Dangerous app with major privacy issue. This app collects and sells data about you and your location to third party data monetisation firms.

Brilliant app!. Just discovered this app today. How good is it!! Used to be nervous of never having the right change but now it's all so simple. Also no more walking back to the car to feed the meter. Love it!!!

It's great.. I think the App is great.

Abysmal. Only accepts increments of 1 hour

Improvements suggested. Love the. Stop is payment apps but can we save our top 5/10 parking spots on login page so it's one tap and we can change in settings 5/10/1 hour options etc Like the new. Making apps etc

Easy Peasy. Why can't all councils adopt this very easy to use method when it comes to paying for your parking - or someone else's for that matter? It's so much better than fumbling for change or trying to use a credit card at a meter. If only I could pay for my other council services with it!

Dodgy. Wilson parking are a pack of dodgy thieves

Very handy. Super simple app. Easy to add a car and find recently used car parks.

Solid but some probs. It's a good app and no fines so far so obv working well. Sometimes it will erase a car I've added for no reason and some places with all day parking will only give you the all day price if you pay in one go. Paying a few hours and extending will not give you the good price which is a shame

Is it illegally dodging GST?. I downloaded the app and used it at Monash Uni in Melb, Australia as I couldn't find a parking machine. Managed to pay ok, but couldn't work out how to get a tax invoice. Contacted their email address and asked if they could email it to me, Adrian advised best to download it. The phone doesn't have this ability. He then advised that I needed to log into the net, but mobile internet via smart phone can't get there either. He then advised to log in via a PC. Did this, downloaded receipt, but no mention of GST, only VAT. I emailed him again but to date no reply. I will take this information to both Monash Uni and the Australian Tax Office as it feels a bit shifty! Needless to say, I have not used the app since.

No alerts without SMS!. I’m traveling and only using WiFi - no mobile network connection. The app does not send alerts without a mobile network connection. I was expecting a notification as o had allowed notifications via the app but none came through! It also fail to alert users that the car park may have a minimum time before it is permitted to return. Very high risk of incurring parking fines if you use this app and just expect it to tell you what the limits are and when they expire.

Great. Although I need to set up a phone reminder to pay for my regular parking I really like the fact that I don't have to be in line, stay under the elements or have coins to pay for parking!

Easy to use, works well.. This app makes parking easy. Just wish it would do push notifications as I didn't sign up for SMS reminders which are an extra fee and got some penalty charges =(

Send alerts from pay parking app. A good app. Would be even better if the app can send an alert when the parking limit is up. That way user can extend the park seamlessly without risking a fine because the parking has expired.

Useless. What a joke of an app

Need half hour increments!. Great app otherwise. Very user friendly.

15 min blocks. Would be better if you could pay in 15 minute blocks or half an hour. I have an hour long class but have to pay for 2 hours because it takes me 5 minutes to walk to my class and 5 minutes to walk back

Park by map view no longer works. I used to love this app but it no longer allows me to select a street and pay for parking. I now have to look for the street number instead of being able to select the street from the app map view. Worked great before for Winnipeg, is basically useless now - could just pay using the meter since I have to look for the parking code there anyways.

Parking Issue. I’ve made every reasonable effort to pay for parking but the PayByPhone system would not allow payment. I was parked in the correct lot, and the posted sign clearly identified the payment zone .When I entered zone number in the PayByPhone app, it repeatedly displayed the message “Parking unavailable. Change your vehicle or location and try again.” To confirm that the issue was not caused by my location settings, I verified my GPS using Google Maps, which showed that I was correctly located in Parking Lot I’m supposed to park. Despite being in the correct location and entering the correct zone number, the app still prevented payment. FIXX IT

Surcharge is ridiculous. Paying with this is more expensive than using the meter. Avoid this app

Easy. It is so nice to no longer have to run back to a meter to add money- love it!

Information overload. This app needs to be able to set up once and work seamlessly at least for one day at a time. Every time I go in, I go through the entire rotation of inputs all over again. It’s very frustrating.

Ads every time I park?. Why am I being bombarded by ads in this app every time i want to park??? Cash grab central.

Great. Love this app, being in a wheelchair, I can’t get to meters in winter or high curve. Great app 👍🏻

POOR customer service. Wrote over a week ago about a problem, I’ve not heard back.

Charging more. A rip off

Screwed Up My Phone. The parking meter at the local hospital wasn’t working so I was forced to download this app to avoid being ticketed. The gentleman behind me in line did warn me he had issues with this app but I didn’t have any choice. It was either use the app or get ticketed. The minute I loaded the app and paid for my parking, my phone started acting up. It was freezing up, my camera stopped working, my phone kept shutting down. I deleted the app as soon as I was done with it but the issues continue. There is no question it was this app. I don’t know what it’s done but my phone is messed up.

Scam. It’s a scam. Max was supposed to be $31 for the day. I got charged $47. Get another app instead.

System Update Resulted in Parking Ticket. Do better PayByPhone. I received a parking ticket because they updated their app and it wiped all my information. I entered all my information to pay and it didn’t go through and I received a parking ticket.

Unreliable. This app loves you waste your time a lot. I attempted to pay for parking but no payment method was accepted so I had to risk getting a ticket. Entered 2 different card numbers, neither accepted. Apple Pay also not accepted. Quite a pointless app really.

Hidden Fees. You’ll be charged for allowing the sms confirmation and again for agreeing to sms reminder.

Trash. Every time you go to park you have to update the app. Couldn’t be less smooth or convenient.

Ai bot support. The app works, but good luck trying to get customer support from a human. The website has no phone numbers and the chat is an ai that refuses to connect you to human help or provide a phone number to contact. They used to have phone numbers for help but not anymore

Parking. Easy to use than the other apps

I have to pay to see ads. Constant sign ins, nickle and diming for sms notifications when push notifications are free and better, and I have to see ads when I am the one paying you. Get a life jeez

It is full of obtrusive adds gets really annoying.. Used to be good for paying for parking it is now an ads machine. So sad.

Doesn’t work for me. I can’t install this app - it continually says: “poor network connection” - NOT impressed.

Quote different from charge. Tried to get ahold of a person and the bot could not answer my questions and no 1800 number so frustrating

Disappointing. Love the app. Very convenient BUT hate the .35cent surcharge. Not sure why but they should be ashamed charging people to use their app.

Absolute garbage. Crashes, unintuitive, can’t easily renew a session - need to restart. Not sure how they have such high ratings. Will start using coins.

City of Regina down down parking. Great price.

ruined by update. ruined by update unuseable

“Screw You” with the Ads and SMS cash grab charges. What happened to this app? It’s cheesy and annoying

Service Charges. Great app but unfortunately you’ll be paying more parking this way since a service charge applies.

Great App. What a great way to pay for parking! Absolutely love this!

Relied on notifications but suddenly stopped working. For the past 2+ years of using this app, I relied on notifications on to notify me when parking is nearing expiration so that I can extend my parking. My most recent parking sessions I did not receive a notification and I received a ticket. After contacting customer service, they mention that notifications are not guaranteed. I don’t believe this is surfaced to the user high enough, and now being left to pay the ticket has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Fee lies. Says no additional fees, then charges additional fees

Parking for the ferry. Tried to park using this app in horseshoe bay and Langdale . Never worked for either of them.

Legit method. Fast and comfortable way to pay for parking

Meter. Your app is useless and slow

Almost Perfect. Works every time. Need ability to recover funds for unused time We all know this can be done I’m sure the city wants otherwise

Usage. Very Happy with ease of use From yvr to Kooteneys Easy for us don’t have to pay on site and Computer remembers vehicle 😊 Thanks Very nice site

Didn’t do what it says on the tin. App description says it has native notifications and/or SMS notifications. SMS notifications have not been arriving to my phone since last summer, despite having sent through a proper confirmation of my phone number recently, and there is no option to turn on native notifications. either in the app or in iPhone notification settings. I have received tickets as a result of these advertised features not functioning. parking authority blames the app company and will not discuss remedies whatsoever. Developer has not responded to my inquiries. One star

The definition of ensh*tification. All I need from a parking app is an easy way to select the spot, pay for it, and hopefully the app will notify me when it’s about to expire. That’s what this app used to do. Now it’s bloated with ads. Expiry notifications don’t work unless you pay for SMS messages and every time I try to use it I have to login again. My city has just approved a competitors app for street parking, I am thrilled. I will never have to use this app again.

Convenient? Maybe not. Imagine having no other option to pay for parking and have to use this app, so they can charge you a “convenience fee”. Then on top of that, they charge you for SMS message reminder. What a scam!

Great!. Great, convenient & extremely handy service, no fuss, no mess & doesn’t require me carrying change or small bills…thanks..

Seriously??? Ads??. So you monopolize parking in my city, charge me %20 up charge on parking you greedy bozos. Now you think it’s acceptable to show me ads?? I’m paying for the service already you stupid greedy a*****e’s

Why no push notifications?. Why is the only option sms notifications and why is it $0.13 for the reminder and another $0.13 for the confirmation message?

Great, just one flaw. Fairly intuitive to use. Frustrating when they don’t explain why parking isn’t available, even when the parking lot is empty.

Easy to use. Easy to add a new plate

DO NOT USE. Won’t accept payment

Application payment advice didn’t match meter. I entered meter location into app on a Saturday. Application said there was a 2-hour time limit, whereas sign said 4 hour limit on Saturdays. I paid for 30 minutes through app. Disappointed to find that physical meter station provided notice that there was 2 hour free parking on Saturdays. Therefore wasted my money and time because info in app did not match requirements on meter station. Next time I will not trust that the information provided in app is correct compared to signage and information on meter station. Poor data integrity!

Good service. Love this. It saves remembering coins.

Completely ruined a great app. Amazing how you can take a smooth, simple, and reliable app and turn it into something that makes you want to give up halfway through parking. Every update seems to make things worse, but this one takes the cake. Congrats on fixing what wasn’t broken, mission accomplished. Lost a loyal customer to your competitors….

Unable to load my cell phone number. Unable to load cell phone number

Pay by Phone. App works well, however, it won’t remember my login so I need to constantly log back in.

Horrible. Spent over 10 minutes trying to pay for parking while my party was being seated at our restaurant reservation. After finally getting through the slow vehicle and credit card addition page (no Apple Pay, seriously?!), it says my quote expired and I have to go back and start over. So I do that and create an account and finally complete the process. Then I needed to add some time, so I reopen the app and ALL of my data is missing! So I re-add my vehicle and attempt to add my card again, and it just hangs with a spinner. I kill the app, try again, and the same thing happens. I ended up just having to hope that I didn’t get a ticket for overstaying my time.

Just what I needed. The pay stations are all in French and if you don’t speak the language, how would you pay! So this is extremely helpful. I paid and extended several times with a few taps of a button. No need to walk back and forth to pay stations… that’s ridiculous. Also the app alerts you when your time is up or near. I loved it. Extending is even easier 😊

great app but for one thing. It is very convenient to use this app. No need to hunt for a machine to pay, and you can extend your time from wherever you are. My only criticism is that one of two credit cards I have associated with the app is expired, and I can’t find a way to delete it on my phone. So I get this annoying warning constantly that my credit card is expired. Yet the one I am using is not expired. Other than that, it’s a great little app.

Great Overall. Works really well, and easy to use. One ask would be for better integration with the parking limits for each lot so that you have the ability to add a day. I often find myself needing to add an extra day but need to wait until the current parking expires. There’s a 14 day limit at the lot I usually park in, and I’m usually parked for 5 days so adding that 6th day shouldn’t be a problem. For that to happen the app would have to know about the limits of each of the lots as far as I can tell.

Usually works. Once your card is connected, the app usually does a good job of finding where you’re parked and having you pay for the right parking spot. I’ve had a handful of times though where it just wouldn’t accept my payment. Money in my account, in a parking spot I use every day for work, and it just says “can’t complete your payment” and I end up w a ticket for the day. So ya, 4 stars, the app usually works

Kinda of a necessity app but still a flaw and dumb features. Nice app and all for quick parking payments but the fact I accidentally paid for a parking spot and not be able to cancel it early or even get a refund from customer service is kinda annoying and mind blowing how the don’t have this planned out or thought about someone doing wrong payments. I sent a message to customer support about my accidentally $10 payment on a parking spot opposite side of me and they haven’t even responded for about a week and a half.

What would we do without Pay and Park?. That title/subject is a obviously a rhetorical question. Love avoiding the need to walk to my car to refill. Love that you can pay even if you arrive before the meter start time and it will only start the clock when the enforcement period starts. Thanks much for this highly effective and easy to use tool.

Support is amazing!. So I never suspect an app will actually have any support people behind it, but this one does! I had trouble parking at a new location and so I called the support number - I had instant help, giving me a couple of other ways to pay and was good to go. I also received a long detailed phone message from Bill who gave me every way possible to make it work. I did get it working and it’s now fine (my location just wasn’t coming out). Terrific!

Great app. Can use in many places and don’t have to stand outside in the rain to pay for parking. Sends a text reminder 10 min. before expiring and allows you to pay for more time from wherever you are without going back to the car. Can add different vehicles and credit card numbers. Would be nice to be able to adjust the time the reminder text comes!

Doesn’t work with shared vehicle. I’ve never had any problems with this app and have otherwise been satisfied. However, this evening, my daughter drove my car which is registered as one of the vehicles in the app. She set up her own account to pay for parking but because the vehicle already appears in my account, it would not let her use the app to pay for parking. Surely we are not the only family where this could happen, so please allow vehicles to be registered to more than one account.

More features would be nice. It would be great if it could give some type of notification when a monthly pass expires, or when you have one day left. It’s hard to keep track of when a monthly pass expires and that has burned me a few times because I forget to check. It would be a great added feature. Otherwise this app is easy to use.

Horrible. This app used to work well. After I was forced by Apple to update iOS11, it has been absolute trash. All of my vehicles, locations and cards history were erased. I was rushed to re-enter all the information in the parking lot. Then, no matter what I tried, it would not process the card number producing an error that it failed fo connect. I tried 2 different cards from 2 different banks. I had to leave my car in the lot without paying or else I would have missed the train. If the I was as bad at my job as whoever was responsible for rolling out this new update, I would be fired on the spot. I wish I had another option at my lot to pay. I would give negative 5 stars if I could.

Be careful when using it in downtown Olympia, WA. I've tried using this application to pay for parking three times over a 12 month period. Each experience has been the same. I enter the location number. I enter the stall number. The location number changes. If you decide to give it a shot and pay, the meter next to your car never updates to reflect as being paid. Hello parking ticket. Also, if you pay for 1 hour, and decide after 30 minutes to go somewhere else and a few blocks away and pay for a different spot, the application won't let you because it thinks you are still parked somewhere else for another 30 minutes.

Handy, but laggy. I wish this app didn’t ask so many questions and make a sloooow round trip to the servers every time. It’s jarring to use: open app, wait for nearby stations to load, pick, wait for my cars to appear, wait, wait for prices to load, pick one day, wait for submit button, click it, wait…. I think I missed a step. I wish this was smoother. Either fewer questions or just don’t make me wait every time. Otherwise very handy, I’m glad the T stations use this app now..

Didn’t work. I have used parking apps before and find them a real bonus, and I’m sure this one’s great when it works. We encountered it at a park we had gone to, so I downloaded it and tried to use it. I entered my credit card information, but when I tried to pay, my card was in there but appeared as “not valid for this location“. It’s a major credit card and I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t be valid. I checked my email to make sure there were no confirmations I needed to click on, but there was nothing. We waited several minutes and tried several times but it wouldn’t work so we had to leave. It was a real bummer.

Love love love. I love this app. It makes life so much easier- allow location finder to figure out the car park you’re in and sort it out via Apple Pay. You get reminders a as to where you parked and how long you have. So much better than struggling with long lines of people struggling to work the machines (that often times don’t work).

Great App!. First time to Seattle and first time using this App. Great UX, no learning curve and helpful to know when and where parking is enforced to a specific time frame. Well worth the effort! With that said, clearly Seattle city and surrounding areas are collecting money from parking fee effectively and efficiently. Why aren’t they putting money on the homeless and desolate on their streets. Even the Bay areas of San Francisco doesn’t charge as much as Seattle but at least they prioritize money correctly.

Awful user experience full of convenient bugs. App is designed for confusion to drive parking tickets. If I had any other choice I would use that instead. Can’t edit vehicles already added. Can’t delete current vehicles. When you add again to put updated details it says the vehicle already exists. Can’t edit payment details. Constantly logs you out. Does not retain recent parking list, make sure you favorite your spots, it will never keep track of them for you. Good luck looking it up after you leave, they make it difficult to find you location.

PayByPhone. Outside of sometimes not being able to get A signal on my phone, the app works perfect. I love that it sends me a receipt for each transaction that his date and time stamped. I was able to use that to get out of a parking ticket in San Francisco from an aggressive parking meter maid. I sent a copy of the ticket and my receipt showing that I still was within the Paid parking meter time and then I got a notice back that my ticket had been voided.

This app is life-changing. This app is life-changing in a very positive way. For those of us who have made sure we have coins in the car for years and years and years, the ability to pull up to a space, pull out my phone, and within a minute pay for my parking is truly a pleasure. It’s also wonderful that I get alerted if my time is running down and from my phone I can add money to it.

Convenient. This app is incredibly convenient, makes parking very simple. The text message reminder is a life saver, as is the email confirmation. I recommend turning on notifications, as the app will send you a reminder, or two, that your paid parking time is running out and give you the exact amount of time you have left. The aforementioned reminder also gives you the option of adding more time.

Tickets given within paid time by parking authority. I really enjoy the system but you should fix the problem with the city parking authority. They give you tickets even within paid time. It has happened to me already 3 times. Is this the way they make the money? Do they think people will pay anyway to avoid the trip? Well the answer is no and please train them to use the system correctly to avoid affecting residents like this. Waste of time for everybody. Thanks

Software is terrible.. Software is terrible. The photo system to take a picture of the credit card doesn’t read the numbers correctly and takes the picture too quickly to allow for adjustments and the system says the cc on file has expired while I have a valid cc in the system.

Impossible for refund. I parked my car and finished the payment. Then I notice that I used a wrong distinction address. Hence I drive alway immediately and make a phone call to PayByPhone. They record the care and asked me to call the parking lot for refund. I made more than 5 calls to the parking lot numbers and left two voice message. I got no reply after four days. It is terrible!!! I pay paybyphone and they are not in charge of refund. It is totally unfair! Horrible experience!

Love Love Love this App!. This app is so convenient and so amazing! I no longer over pay for parking because I’m never sure how long I need to park. Now I can just do the minimum and if my appointment runs over I get a reminder to add more parking. No more running to the car to pay the meter. No more standing in the rain to pay the meter which adds more time to be able to get to the appointment. Everybody’s crazy busy these days so it’s all about convenience!

Scanner won’t read. The photo option and the scanner option never work on my phone. I will be at the location and type in the location number but the App says the location doesn’t exist. I have to physically go back to the meter and pay with the credit card. It never lets me replenish the time either. The app does not work.

Good update. I wrote a bad review previously based on the last update. I wasn't alone in sharing my frustration with the changes and lack of thoughtful UX/UI. The most recent update addressed a lot of these issues and is moving the app back in a good direction. Still a couple items remaining like having a different color differentiation between sections, changing vehicle later in the process, etc. Overall, a good (again) app.

Fantastically Convenient!. The Pacific Northwest is no friend to frou-frou hairstyles. Instead of standing at a meter in the rain, snow, wind, etc., you open the app, punch in the area and stall number and pay! It even sends a text reminder when it’s time to move your car. This is a wonderful invention for people who manage parking and getting small children in and out of a vehicle, as well as those of us who are attempting to give our hair a fighting chance against the elements. - Erin, Olympia

Missing too many features. The app looks amazing and is very user friendly .The problem is that is missing A LOT of features. 1. Vehicle Management: there’s no way you can maximize the photo taken (which I needed to verify that the license plate entered match the description) 2. Parking History: If you go under any of the transactions you’ll be able to see the parking location you paid for, however you can’t use Google/Appel Maps to check where’s that location (you literally have to google it) 3. There’s no live chat support for the app (or even by phone) 4. Technical support/Submit request : By far the worst section for one simple reason: “choose parking operation” option. I doubt 99% of the users know the answer of this and there’s no “what’s this?” section. 5. If you need this app to pay your parking and you don’t make a mistake it need anything extra, def the app is great. Otherwise it’s a nightmare.

Fantastic service. Park by phone is so fantastic and convenient and easy no more dealing with change but the best part is being able to extend your time when you need it when you’re running late without having to go back to the car :-) thank you please keep the service is coming everywhere possible

Overcharged on numerous occasions. There have been several occasions, as of late, where I choose to park for one day. I make sure to select pay to park for 1 day, the review before charge shows I chose 1 day with the correct amount to be charged, and then I hit pay. I receive my text message receipt only to find out that I have actually been charged for 2 days and not 1. There is some bug in the app that is causing this and has done this several times now. On some days I have been able to let this go if I plan to return to the same lot the next day but on others I am being charged for a day that I won’t be there. This needs to be addressed.

Great most of the time. It’s a great Application and works perfectly for parking. Every once in a while they randomly make login and reinput your credit info. When no change is warranted. It’s always at an inconvenient time, unnecessary and you dont remember your pass word so you have to call them - also inconvenient while your trying to go onto a restaurant or somewhere. You may end up just using the meter and Fix the app later

Glitches constantly even when updated. This app frequently tells me a payment method is declined even when I know the card is valid because it has gone through before or goes through the day after. It has done this with all of my credit cards until I have no other payment method to “try.” Other times I get an error that it can’t process my request and to try again later. Oftentimes this leads to not being able to pay for my parking, which in turn leads to tickets/a higher parking rate that the MBTA bills me later. It is frustrating that they use an app that is so glitchy and prevents me from paying for parking on a regular basis.

Native push notification support please. I’m a new user as of nov 22, 2019. Can this app support native apple push notifications? I would have expected a new mobile app to be developed with this core feature. I don’t have free SMS plan so it cost me extra for the notifications. Also as a first time use, the confirmation method for double tapping was not clear. And still wasn’t on my iPhone. Overall I look forward to the convenience of it , when I plan to use it.

Best thing out there. As I sit in the warmth of my car, quickly paying for my parking with the app, I see folks, in the windy rain, desperately trying to pay at the station and I want to yell ‘get the app’ !! Seriously, I even helped an elderly woman trying to make a pay meter work by just putting her car on my app and covered her parking so she could get into the bank before closing. Get the App!!

Easy and you can extend. The subject line says it all. Think about it, you have put money in the meter but your meal is taking longer than usual. Or your having a great conversation, but you have to feed the meter. Or you just did not notice when you started your park time. This app will give you a warning, And, you can add more time from the ease of your phone. No more running to the meter just in time to see the sadistic meter police writing that ticket.

cant delete old cc. Trying to make a meeting the app had two old credit cards so I added a new one with a zero balance with 60k of available credit and it declined the card. I added another card, same credit scenario and denied again, then added a debit card to a checking account with a 10k balance and it denied it again. What gives? Finally accepted the first card after a fourth try needless to say I was late for the meeting, thanks Pay by Phone😡

Awesome App!. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s so easy and convenient. It knows where you’re parked and stores multiple cars. It reminds you when parking is expiring and let’s you extend parking from the app. I hadn’t really given this app much thought until today when I contacted the developers with a needed update/correction to the self-help library. They responded quickly and fixed the issue. Very impressed.

Multiple Mistake tickets received. I’ve lived in Seattle for 110 days now and in that time I’ve received parking tickets each $44 for the reason no receipt of purchase. I travel a lot and did not have the time to dispute the first one, I plan on disputing the second. I have my emailed receipt clearly starting I had purchased a ticket for the time frame and street. I’m not sure if this is a problem on the apps, city or a lot of human error on the parking attendant side of things. As a doctor I don’t have time to go to court to dispute this type of frequent mistake and I assume no one else does either. This is a huge mistake passed onto the consumer leading to a lot of work time loss people can’t afford to take.

Convenient. I love this app because I don’t have to worry about feeding the meter. I enter the location number and go. Then it reminds me when the meter is going to expire so that I don’t get a ticket. I am not going to downgrade it but almost did one star only because very occasionally the app doesn’t work. This can be very inconvenient when you are counting on it. It hasn’t happened in a long time so hopefully that bug was fixed. Hooray for this app!

Rip off!!!. I believe this app and the Miami parking authority work together to make it easier for them to issue parking tickets. The app alerts you 15 minutes prior to the meter expiring. The parking authority doesn’t allow you to add time until the meter reaches zero. So for example, if you’re busy at work and it slips your mind, until maybe 10 minutes after the meter expired. You’ll go ahead and pay, but you don’t know there’s already a ticket on your window. So now you’re paying for a parking spot and going to pay for a ticket as well. The app needs to give you an option for you to be alerted as soon as the meter expires for situations like this.

Super helpful - no more coin digging!. The easy interface and notifications make it great to use. One extra that would help is sometimes I am running from the car so would be great to be able to take a pic of the meter number and the app know automatically which meter id so you don’t have to enter it manually. I do this outside the app with my regular phone camera already but have to retype.

Horrible annoying nagging app. It’s bad enough I have to use this to pay for my commuter parking every day, but now after a recent update this app has become even more incredibly annoying! Why is it trying to sell me things after I park? No relevance to parking and I have all offers turned off! Utterly ridiculous that this would even be allowed in a parking app. Nags constantly to try to get me to turn on sms and now half the screen is wasted on these totally useless features making less space for what is actually important. Get rid of all the garbage you are shoveling into this app and just focus on parking only!

It’s Thinking so I Don’t Have To!. An awesome lil app with a sharp design that empowers and puts control into the hands of people who park. The app conveniently recalls previous parking data making the process faster and worry-free. The notifications keep car owners aware of the parking countdown while offering a link to extend parking seamlessly. After years of submitting to the Parking Demon, I’ve broken from the chains with the tech-leveraged magic of PayByPhone!

We are all just people. Most essential app for San Francisco. Parking is difficult and expensive. With this app you can sit in the car and feed parking meter while it is raining. Long lunches are not a problem then can extend without leaving the table Best use of technology I've seen. And now supports near field communication. The only uncertainty is when there’s a broken orange meter. Still, must have app if you live in SF Must have where available

Get better systems. If you put your license plate wrong and realize 1 second after you pay, they can’t simply update the reservation which should be super simple to do. You can’t update it in the app while you have an existing reservation. Instead you have to call and they have to change it there, then you have to quit the app and sign back in and pay AGAIN and then, even though they said they would give you a refund, they can’t. They want you to call the Miami parking authority like it’s going to be simple dealing with a government agency. Also you have to do full hours, not 15 minutes at a time as with the parking meters.

Easy park. Pay by phone is probably the most convenient way to pay for parking however, I do wish there was a way to extend the time without it expiring. It often causes a panic because if you’re in an appointment and it expires, you have to wait until that exact moment, which makes it difficult. otherwise it’s a great app.

Very Convenient. This app makes paying for parking so convenient and easy. The ability to extend parking without having to go to your car is amazing! They also notify you when the parking meter is almost expired so you never have to worry about it. Adding a car is super easy too even if you are in the middle of paying for parking. I’ve added 2 cars now. Both done in less than 60 seconds. Great work all around from the devs, to UI/UX, features decisions, everybody. Thank you!

Stop asking for my CCV. Every time I park it asks for my ccv from my card. I guess their worried someone is going to steal my car, steal my phone and then go park somewhere! If I put my card in your system on my phone, stop asking me to get my wallet out and try and remember which card is on file. This app is supposed to be convenient and it’s not convenient to take my wallet out and search through cards. Other than that it’s fine!

Great job Seattle Parking App Team. This is my first ever review on App Store (been an Apple user 10+ years) and this app deserves it. After having to deal with multiple poor technology infrastructure with government and utilities functions, my expectations of this app was very low. However I was impressed by the easy design, auto populate parking spot numbers nearby, saving car details, seamless Apple Pay integration. This is an incredible app and will make parking machines a thing of past.
