Towelfight 2 Game Reviews

Awesome. Need one of those heart racing, phone throwing, fun games? Then this is what you need. This game has that feel of a classic, rouge, and role playing game. Though the controls can be kind of hard to adjust to, but after you get that down you're on your way. The game isn't too hard which keeps you playing but just hard enough to test your skill. Overall a great game and is money well spent.

This game. Is Awesome

The Binding of Towels. This game is a procedurally generated whirlwind of flying animals and chainsaws. Occasionally when I stop firing for a moment I can briefly gain a moment of respite from endless explosions and unicorns flying in circles only to begin shooting again. It's like a bullet hell with animals instead of bullets. And then also bullets. Good stuff: + Lots of fun. + Lots of places to go. + Lots of enemies + Lots of animals to throw. + Moderately challenging. Not so good stuff: - Game asks to review the game every time you go back to the home panel. Super annoying. - Can lose track of what's what on the screen really easily. Would be nice if enemies had a red outline or something. - Magic enchantments don't last nearly long enough. - Can't actually shoot towels (yet).

Towelfight 2. Towelfight 2 was the second Butterscotch Shenanigans game that I got into. Quadropus Rampage clicked with me so much that I just had to snag it. It's a fantastic dual-stick adventure with quite a bit of originality, loads of humor and some great mechanics. If you're a fan of the genre, you should really check it out. Hell, even if you're not, it might just win you over.

Controller support please.. Would be a lot more fun if clunky touch controls weren’t killing me. And there’s no such thing as touch controls that aren’t clunky for a game like this.

Totally fun surprise. This game is the perfect example of why you don't need to use 1gb+ to create a game with good graphics and excellent game play. Tons of rpg elements and good as a dual stick shooter. My only complaint is that the control area is too small on the iPhone. On my iPad however this game is a blast.

Awesome Arpg. So i came across this game while searching for The Binding of Isaac, and as it was described by several reviewers to be similar to said game i decided to give it a shot. And boy am i glad i did. TF2 is similar to The Binding of Issac in terms of gameplay, though far easier than that game. Its an action rpg, but though its been described as a rogue-lite by some i wouldnt really agree with that assessment. The levels aren't procedurally generated; the map is fixed and when you die you start at the same beginning screen, but every screen youve beaten on the map will be devoid of enemies when you respawn (and when you backtrack through them). The loot consists of a bunch of different animals that you can shoot as balls of ammo. Each animal/ball is a different type of weapon basically, they all have different effects. And each one has two upgrades that can be found or purchased that affect their abilities. There are also a bunch of Relics that can be found that supposedly have beneficial effects when used, but i cant figure out how to activate them for the life of me lol. The game is very addicting and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I paid the $3 to get rid of ads personally, but it is a free game and its not a necessary purchase.

One of the best games in the app store. Don't know how much this game is worth, but it is definitely worth five stars even if it costs upwards of 3$. No IAP and a great amount of content alone is extremely worth it. However, it also has a decent story and great gameplay. I have played it for 10+ hours and I'm about two thirds done with it. There are side mission "dungeons", that don't take too long, aren't ever required, and actually contribute content like projectiles and augmentations. The retro graphics are pretty good. All in all it is not lacking in any department, though its best attributes are the amount of content, no IAP (one of the only games out there where the devs haven't gotten greedy and ruined a perfectly awesome game), decent story(you're not just mindlessly completing mission to achieve three stars in every level---type of thing), and lastly to is semi original(basic concept enhanced enough to where its a completely different gameplay experience). I couldn't think of any legitimate cons, but its repetitiveness would be one, if the majority of games weren't as repetitive as they are. Stop reading these reviews and get it already, I'm sure it's better than the other game you're thinking of getting.

Interesting concept, superb play!. This. Game. Is. Incredible! The gameplay and action is quick and fun. The humor is absolutely hilarious. I've never played a game that I've laughed so hard as well as enjoyed. I believe they've created a new genre of games here: "Humor-Action" Can't wait for towelfight 3!

Wow. If you loved Towelfight 1, you're gonna love Towelfight 2.

Lots of potential.. The game would rock on the iPhone if only it supported rotation. In portrait the controls are too small. The movement control is constantly triggering the pop down menu but its coming from the left side and not the top for some strange reason. I move to my iPad (1st gen) to get a better look but it crashes before it gets past playing with the pug in the park. There is some true comedy gold to be had and the music and art are great. Please fix the bugs so I can get back to shooting what-sits out my wherefore.

WARNING. If you are about to download this app...I warn you...be prepared to waste 3 hours of your life because this game is great! I was checking this game out to see how butterscotch shenanigans made their games and they are all great! I'm already thinking about getting their newer game crashlands I think is its name, but anyways, Good Job! Was surprised with this game and how good it is!

Amazing. You three brothers ate bs make some of the best games ever and Crashlands is actually my second fave game and this game is close up there too

Probably my favorite mobile game ever. This was the first butterscotch shenanigans game I’ve ever played and I was so impressed with the care to detail and story put into this game, from the meme-orable characters to the large map and surprising amount of weapons and augments for such, makes it for a time consuming, but enjoyable and memorable experience. I also enjoy that this company connects its games to where achievements can earn you bonuses and extra missions in other games on your bscotch id thingy, something they never really explain but I feel it should be highlighted because it’s really cool

Sequel please!!😭. Please butterscotch make a sequel, you did it for crashlands, now this? Pleeeassee

Amazing game!!!!!. This game really reminds me of the binding of Isaac but it is unique in its own way and I love it! One thing I have to say is that I wish this game was on pc like crashlands was because the controls would be a lot easier otherwise this game is perfect!

Great game, horrible update.. I can't say enough good things about the game itself; besides this the update has ruined the game. The developers decided to slop on a 2.99 paywall after I paid them 2-3 dollars before when the game was first released. This removes newly added ads that pop up at random times way too often and are extremely disorienting. I know they are offering the game for free now, and that's great for new players, but for people that adopted the game early and previously paid for it, it's very disappointing. I'm not sure if I'll continue to play with these new additions. Or if I'll ever download another app from Butterscotch Shenanigans because it's that disappointing to me.

Yes!!. Finally a great original game on iOS I just love the weapons menu I will have to say I saw this game when it came out and failed to pick it up but I also love it when I download a new game not expecting much and then right when I start I am hooked no "unreal" powered engine just good old fashioned fun. Great game. Fun and funny gameplay, unless you’re an animal/magical creature, then you might not. I played all of Butterscotch Shenanigan’s games that are on the AppStore and I recommend them all.

Game has incredible potential but.... Controls are too dodgy that it can't possibly live up to that potential. If you can't play a game, all the work that went into it is pointless. Developers, clean up the controls... It's the most basic element and important prerequisite of any video game. Could have something great here if you fix this issue. This should be your highest priority. Believe me. --15 in game design/development.

SIX STARS. This game will warp your mind muscles and loosen your bowels - prepare for fits of uncontrollable giddiness and occasional maniacal laughter as you control our bemonicaled hero and guide him in laying down the fiery law of nature. Retro soundtrack and gameplay that will remind you of classic games of yore, but all the witty nonsensical humor you'd expect from a Butterscotch title.

great game but one slight problem. This game is really really fun and I would say that the comedy in it is pretty good. But me saying this that the graphics aren’t that good might feel like a slap in the face to the people who made this so sorry but I have to say it that the graphics need a bit of tweaking. Hopefully no one who worked on this takes offense to do this, otherwise the game is just really fun to play normally so on a game mechanics standpoint it’s just incredible.

Butterscotch knows what’s up. This group of guys are amazing from the whole bu tteeeer scotch shenana giiiins to the games they make is all so clever . It’s a happier version of binding of Isaac . I even watched these guys movie about the loss they experienced . This isn’t a mobile game, more of an all platforms kinda games like their others I’ve played . Good work guys, best devs out there for this type of stuff .

iPhone 5? DON'T BUY THIS.... yet!. The review for this game on Toucharcade and here make it look pretty good. They mention it is bugged and only works in portrait mode.. no big deal right? WRONG! On an iPhone 5 this game is not playable in portrait mode. It does work but you cannot see anything, your own thumbs get in the way fully. They say there is a patch in the works to fix it and it is scheduled ASAP. Well we all know what it means when a game developer says ASAP instead of actually giving an honest real date. It means... as soon as they decide to eventually get around to it after they finish counting their profits from releasing a game that doesn't work. Hopefully ASAP means soon... I'm really eager to play this... but let's stop fooling people Butterscotch Shenanigans. Openly reveal this game will not be playable on iPhone 5, at all, til it is eventually fixed. Being honest and up front will get you a lot more good will and customers then downplaying the seriousness of this bug.

Umm. I have to rain on the 5 star parade as the game is neigh unplayable on my touch 5g . It's just too small and skinny in portrait mode and it doesn't work in landscape . I'll adjust my review after the update that fixes the problem materializes . This shouldn't have been released in this state . I look forward to playing it though . Edit : well the patch just hit and well what do you know it's fricking fantastic ! It makes such a huge difference to play in landscape . It still took me a while to get used to the controls but now I love it . The humour is spot on and the graphics shine , the whole thing oozes quality . Plus there are a ton of upgrades and different animal ammo which actually makes a difference because the game can get quite challenging . Highly recommended , hats off to Lunchchile and Iowa . See good things do come from the Midwest ;)

Love it. Love it because it’s fun

Fun and interesting!. For their first major release as an independent studio, this is outstanding. It reminds me a little of the old Zelda games, but more futuristic. The only complaint that I have is the controls; they can be a little unresponsive sometimes and make it a lot harder to defeat enemies. But it's a lot of fun and I definitely recommend trying it out!

Game is fun but really challenging. This game is really fun but when you get to the purple marsh of death it gets insanely hard so maybe make an easy mode or practice mode.

Wow!. Didn't expect the amazingly interesting gameplay or humor, but was very pleasantly surprised. Not usually into action type or shooting type games, but this reminds me of Zelda on NES. Great job, and I hope you get more coverage for this hidden gem. Only issue so far, I can't figure out how to use the tshirt power up, even though it has needed amount of souls?

Great! *UPDATE*. I think this game needs to have a built in clock. It is way too addictive. I thought I had been playing for thirty minutes when I realized I had spent about three hours on this fantastic game. It's almost exactly like The Binding Of Isaac without perma-death (thankfully), and one giant, expanding dungeon layout along with some other twists. Still hoping for more control options, but the new control system greatly improves the game.

Zelda style game meets dual stick shooter. This game has some of the style of a Legend of Zelda game with the controls of a dual stick shooter. I particularly like the way you can customize your clip with your newly acquired animal ammo, all of which have unique effects. The controls work well once you understand that the controls are four way pads and not analog sticks, this is really important and works well with the gameplay style of this game.

Not bad, but repetitive.. I also take stars away for being too annoying about giving ratings, which this was.

Glooorm. I love this game! It used to be 2.99 and I bought it. Then it went a try before you buy model and it asks me to buy it again. Well you know what? I'm ok with that cause these guys rock and this game is awesome! So shut up and take my money (again)

I got an idea that would make this game better. PLZ PUT MULTIPLAYER UP TO 2 or 4 players your choice make new ability’s and animals like an alien

Hidden gem. I have been playing games on iPhones and iPads since 2009, and have never felt compelled to write a review until now. This game is better than any other mobile game I have ever had the pleasure of playing, and that is saying something because I have hundreds of games in my mobile collection. Towelfight2 has a surprising level of depth and content. The arena mode alone that you unlock while exploring is worth the price, and that is a small fraction of what this game has to offer. While roguelike, it is also a bit more forgiving, meaning if you die you don't have to start completely over unless you want too. Every play through is different thanks to procedurally generated levels, and I simply cannot wait for the next game they are releasing. Simply put... The App Store needs more games like this, and any true gamer should buy and try this game immediately.

Awesome Game. I usually do not write reviews, but I had to in this case. Towelfight 2 is one of the best games I have played on the iOS. Don't wait just buy it! Games like Nova and Mass Effect are great, but with only 16 gb storage on my ipad 3, I would erase those games long before I would even consider removing Towelfight 2.

Wonderful, but I have one complaint.. It's an appealing game, a bit comparable to the binding of Isaac. I enjoy the humor and the gameplay massively, but... about the gameplay. The fire 'button' being only the four cardinal directions. I understand this, but I feel like it would be a bit more fluid if you simply made it a circle and you would simply change direction upon reaching said fourth of the circle. Otherwise, it's a beautiful game, and I'm still leaving a five star review.

Crazy fun game, controls much better. My only complaint about the game would be the controls, but since the last update they are much better. Great humor and great fun. If you are a fan of Binding of Isaac you owe it to yourself to check this game out.

Love it but...*UPDATED*. Games amazing. Simple as that. But just recently I cannot load my game without it crashing...every single time. Sadly I'm pretty far and do not want to restart. Really hope they get a fix for it soon. UPDATE: After emailing for support Seth helped me out fixed my bug and generally was a boss. Game is epic no reason it should not be on your iDevice.

Good concept but.... I'm a butterscotch fan so I didn't wanna give this review but I have to be fair. The game has a good rpg concept and you never know what you might expect to face in each new map. One of the things that turned me off is how frequent the ads appear when you clear out all the enemies on the map. The controls are just cranky and it is hard to maneuver your character especially when the pressure is on(in other words, you will die a lot). I also do not like the description of the equipments we can use, please be clearer in what perks each equipment gives.

A lot of content!. Lots of stuff to collect. Great monocle customisation. Big map. Lots of enemies. $0.99 is a small price for a great game. Been waiting a while for a game like this on iOS. I hate to compare games but it's like elements of Oddworld's Stranger's Wrath fused with Binding of Isaac.

Crash. I don't know why but for me, whenever I try to load it crashes. It also crashes after less than 30 seconds of playing

Fantastic game!. Like binding of Isaac but more adventures and a bit less but harder boss fights the only thing missing to me is permanent death.

Please fix. I have an old ipad and it crashes almost every time i press play and the only way to play is to immediately press menu before it crashes which sometimes doesnt work and then turn effects down which usually fixes it, but it would be nice if i could access setting from the title screen. Please fix. Also i have to restart every time i close it. Otherwise its a good game

I bought this game a while back and absolutely loved it... now they've gone and made it a "free to play" game and slapped ads on top even for the customers who bought it. No way in hell I'm paying you guys TWICE for the game I already bought to right to play ad-free.

Fun and funny. I don't mind spending a little money on a game with heart. This one is free and it's got plenty of heart. Of course, by heart I mean flying animal balls that ejaculate things like "diabetes" and "dictator!" and "Sasquatch".

Great!. This game is a fairly simple twin stick shooter that has a lot of customization options and great comedy.

Love it. This game is amazing. My favorite part is how many projectiles you have. And each projectile has two power ups. That's a lot of content for an indie release like this.

Great. Binding of Isaac with a silly and well kinda irritating sense of humor. I mean I get where they were coming from but some of it is embarrassing. Great game otherwise!

OMG. This game would have my 5* rating, if it didn't nearly permanently crash my phone. The game froze and wouldn't let me go to the home screen, then I waited an hour, still nothing, then I did force shut-down and it put my phone in a permanent black state. Luckily my brother figured out how to fix it!

Used to love this game.... I really used to enjoy this game but now they've added pop-up ads and a 2.99 paywall. This is very upsetting because I've already payed 2.99 for the game when it was first released. I should be able to continue without paying another 2.99. I'm very disappointed in Butterscotch Shenanigans.

A pleasant surprise. I honestly started playing this to unlock stuff in their upcoming game crash lands but now I can't stop playing this. It's a very compelling rogue like that just won't let go.

Awesomeness abound!. Awesome game. Crashlands introduced me to BS and I wanted try everything they had! I also like how earning achievements in one of their games unlocks perks in others! Great game, great studio and great fun all around!

Fun addictive game. I really like this game. Lots of quirky humor, fun minions. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the controls are very sluggish so I get killed a lot. The first (and most recent) game of these developers I played is Crashlands which is awesome & even more fun, so check it out as well!

Epic!. Towelfight 2 definitely deserves some widespread recognition. It is not too far off from a mobile Binding of Isaac. Except less disturbing... Maybe...

Run for your life. Be ready to run for your life! You are outnumbered and out gunned so keep moving and throw your weapons as fast as you can. LOL. Screaming does help.

Fun game! Great developers behind it as well. I was humbled to have been in contact with the guys who made this game. They are hardworking (and hilarious) designers who genuinely want to entertain their audience. Check this game out. It's genuine fun.

Fun if imperfect. Fun, and deeper than it appears to be at first glance. The graphics leave much to be desired and it's not easy to tell when you're in danger, or even where you are all the time, but the game's unique style and quirky humor more than make up for its shortcomings.

One of "those games". This game is amazing. It looks stupid but once you start playing it, it gets addicting.

Character hard to see. The game screen's really small, and the player character isn't a unique color. As a consequence I can't really tell where he is in intense fights. Please do something to make him stick out.

Thanks for ruining a great game. How is it that i purchased this game and now your trying to extort more money out of me to remove ads????? Have you ever heard of grandfathering existing customers whe have already purchased your game and shown support. Either give me a refund or take your stupid adds off

AMAZING!!!. I don't usually buy that many games and don't consider myself a hardcore gamer, but I'M TOTALLY HOOKED, who knew my destiny when viewed through a monocle was SO EPIC!!! I'm a huge fan!!
