Best game I've ever seen !. Easy but challenging and very easy to use

Too hard. This game is much tougher than the original. All the enemies have too much health and have too overpowered abilities (like the cannibalism ability of the savage warrior). You need to nerf some of the enemies.

Great game but BOY are flying heros a pain to use!. Great game with different mechanics for each level to keep you on your toes. Only complaint is that flying heros (dragon heros) have a terrible time auto attacking. They only attack things directly in front of them, not under, to close, or behind them. It would be nice to have the ability to tell what their range is. Maybe a little indicator of some kind.

Extremely Fun. All of the Kingdom Rush games are terrific, they are classics for a reason

This is more of a complaint then a review.. So the game is great it works fine, but there was an issue when I updated the game. For some reason unknown to me it deleted a character I had, kutsao to be specific. I had the same issue on the original kingdom rush game. I don’t know if you guys can give it back or something, but if you could that would be greatly appreciated.

Five Stars. Perfection.. From its humble beginnings in Flash on Armor Games, Kingdom Rush still holds that same charm that made it so popular to begin with. Superb quality, surprisingly deep story, and challenging gameplay. If you haven’t played any kingdom rush games before, any of the original three would be fine places to start. Vengeance is a bit different, but still an average game.

As good as Kingdom Rush 1. The same concept, different weapons and enemies. Addictive. Love it.

way too hard i dont get it. my kid generally loves these games but this one for some reason they way overtuned. i had to take over for him and i couldnt do it. basically forcing you to buy items to get through even on normal really done w the series now

Frontiers. Simply well designed. Very addictive.

My childhood. The kingdom rush franchise has always been in our [true fans] hearts. However, frontiers need one more mini campaign that takes place in the jungle. Preferably all about the reapers and parasites (or aliens in general).

Great and Money Grabbing. You get a small number of gimped heroes and they try to charge way too much to purchase the good ones. Lame

One of the best games on mobile.. I’ve loved all the KingdomRush games. I’ve played and beaten all of them. Frontiers is probably my personal favorite out of the series (although the original is a close 2nd) The heroes, they’re all really fun to use. Their abilities are interesting and they are strong but not insanely op. They’re balanced well. The towers are diverse, you can have sneaky assassins who can steal from enemies or tanky and bulky crusaders who can survive mighty blows. You can have a tower with marksmen with crossbows or magical tribesmen. There’s always something different which was so cool! The levels were also pretty darn challenging. I enjoyed figuring out how to beat this darn stage. This series is so much better than all the dumb random ad filled mobile games now. 10/10. One of the greatest games and company’s on mobile.

Solid sequel but original is better. I loved the original kingdom rush and this is a solid sequel. The gameplay is just what you remember, and the heroes have actually been improved (they actually survive and help). The new hero leveling/upgrading mechanic is an improvement. You get 3 heroes with the game purchase, then have to spend a small fortune to unlock the rest. The storyline isn't as entertaining and witty as the original, but it's still good. The towers looked a lot better in the original, they're kind of cheesy looking in frontiers. Overall it's definitely worth the $5 for the game, but all the money to unlock all the heroes depends how fanatical a kingdom rush follower you are.

Love this game. Make more sequels!. I’m not much of a gamer, but I do love the Kingdom Rush series. I’ve played through the 3 current titles a few times over the past years and would gladly shell out for a new version (based on the same engine).

Amazing. The game is so addictive and it’s so fun to play it and challenges me.

Frustrated with app support. I have sent a message because I like to listen to audio books or podcasts when playing but for some reason the apps mute music and sounds does not work. Very frustrating since the buttons are there but just don’t work. No one responded after contacting app support.

One of the best. I love this game because the designs are awesome and it’s a strategy game. For anyone who would like it, I suggest you would buy it. = )

A good old game. I remember playing this game back in 2013. This game is still as good as it was back then. I really enjoyed the nostalgia Thank you Ironhide Games.

Addicting Fun!. This game is so addicting it should require a prescription. Have time to kill? This is the fun way to do it.

Increased difficulty. Use to rate this at 5 stars but they have obviously increased the difficulty a lot. To advance beyond a certain point you will have to make additional purchases where as before you could beat the whole game, at least at the end in casual mode if nothing else. Forget about that or pay out some more money. I beat it twice before and have been trying to again but have hit a wall in the middle. Changed.

Loved it but. I loved this game the graphics are great but it would not let me buy any of the characters

For the Kingdom. I have played these games for about 2-3 years now and I still find more things to do in it even though kingdom rush Origins is my favorite and The original kingdom rush is my second favorite I still find a big place for this one in my heart btw go check out the new space Marines it's amazing .

THE BUG. Why don't you fix the bug?! The shape of the arrow is reversed! Should our archers use the tail of the arrow to attack the enemy?! This bug has not been fixed for 2 years!

The definitive tower defense game. I’ve never played a better one.

The Best Game Ever. I am a huge fan of the KR series and this one is definitely my favorite. I do really hope and kind of doubt that they will add any more levels but I really want them to do it. I love all of the music inside of the game and I am always humming them every where. The graphics are really cool in my opinion. The small price is totally worth it and I got hours of fun playing this game. Totally recommended.

Love it!. This game is up there with best tower defense games. It’s so entertaining and there’s actually a reason to replay levels. The game is also visually pleasing and has a cute but scary design to it... somehow. It’s also hilarious because there are so many references in the game, and if you look hard enough every level has 2 references to something. It would be very interesting if you could make every level endless instead of only the challenge levels. What would be even cooler is a level designer where you could make and share levels with the community. 5 stars 100%👍

Favorite out of the trilogy. This is an incredible game. It's very well formatted and very addicting. In my opinion this is the best one out of the trilogy.

Scams to steal your money. These games are just scams to get you to pay more and more money to “win” their silly game, the difficulty of which they control. Buy more and more “coins” so you can buy more and more weapons. Even in doing this, you will still lose more than you win. Get out while you can.

Great game. Great game awesome hero’s (even the free ones) great story a few bugs but great. One bug was my game got deleted but after awhile My game for some reason came back. Hope you fix some other bugs. (Ps make Another game please)

Great game, one question. The game and gameplay is great, ironhide is one of the best game studios I've ever seen. But i do have one question, whats the difference between frontiers and frontiers HD? I found that a long time ago i bought HD on my old iPad and now i can download it for free, but what's the difference? I wanted to know wether or not i should buy the original frontiers or just keep hd?

I have even seen the newest game “vengeance” that seems really cool. I really like the idea of equipping 4 out of 16 towers. I already have plans to purchase that when it comes out. 😂😂😂. Unplayable without numerous in-app purchases. I’ve played this game multiple times through in multiple different levels, and you can forget about beating it unless you pour a blasphemous amount of gems or real life money into gameplay.

Game Center pop up. Every time I open the game a pop up for Apple Game Center appears. I am forced through two windows and select who can see my info, and then there’s an error and it can’t save the results. To the best of my knowledge the Apple Game Center hasn’t existed for years?

Amazing.. Arguably the best in the kingdom rush series, we meet again frontiers. It’s super balanced with the heroes being cool aswell with the enemies and towers. So much content; however much you spend, it’s worth it. Thank you kingdom rush.

👍 I recommend this game. This game is fantastic and I really like it, from the different environments to the super cool towers, It really is enjoyable. there are some issues. Just like Origins, the bosses are way too easy in this game. Every boss is super easy to kill (I am having difficulty beating dusk chateau tho) also like origins, there are not enough extra levels after you finish the campaign. Besides these things it is a Nice game which you should totally play.

Let down. Almost identical to the free version only a lot more difficult and must use a lot of diamonds to get through levels. Stick with the free game it’s better.

Gem system ruins the game. It’s artificially difficult to frustrate players into buying gems. I shouldn’t have to play the same level 10 times on casual to lose enough games, to get enough gems, so that on the 11th playthrough I can purchase extra gold during the match. I regret my purchase but now Ironhide will never see another $1 from me.

Amazing game!!. Absolutely love the kingdom rush series! Unlike the previous game, this one adds a lot more detail and better mechanics. Such as fighting a giant leviathan and having stronger hero’s! This game also has better aspects and feature like having the hero training bar and..... more hero’s! Over all, this is one of the better Neanderthal more enjoyable kingdom rush games. I am thinking of creating a new kingdom rush game and am working on it right now.

Great game. This game is extremely addictive and challenging, but there needs to more ways you can spend you stars. As soon as you get 65 stars there's nothing else you can spend them on and this takes away the desire to play the game, I think an update with more levels and maybe a tower is needed. :)

Great Game A+. Just like the first kingdom rush but with different maps. Lots of fun, great graphics & continues on with similar game play. Well worth the money for the hd version. I'm not happy that I have to fork out for the iPhone version. I prefer playing on ipad anyway.

Great game but.... Great game but I wish that when they advertise how much storage the game requires it's actually accurate. I have well over 600mb left on my ipad but the game only require 340 odd mbs and it still won't install. Frustrating. Great game as said though, both on iPhone and iPad.

The best game ever. I love this game, every time i play it i never realise how much time i spend on it, it's so addictive, i would give it a 10 stars if i could. Having say that i payed $6.5 on the app store while on Google Play i got it for $1.1 How can justify such a price difference, it's unfair

A great game. I love this game and think it is a great tower strategy game,however for the people who have kingdom rush 1 than it takes a little time to get the great towers that you get in number 1 but once you have done the first few level you get the good towers so enjoy this pro game!!! :)

An epic come back!. I was a big fan of the first Kingdom Rush, and I played it religiously! I heard rumours about another one, and it turned out to be true. Ironhide has done it again. They have provided yet another greatly satisfying game that had enormous changes from the first one.

Fantastic game, polished and balanced - should be universal!. Only great things to say about this game. Great music, gameplay, purchases are 100% optional and don't affect gameplay. BUT - should be universal for iPad/iPhone. So I can play mostly on iPad, but still have a quick turn on the iPhone in a queue somewhere.

Incredible. This game is incredible. One of the very few apps that never gets deleted cannot fault the game. Only wish there was something to do after beating all the levels !

Unbelievably addictive. Incredibly entertaining, well designed units and upgrades. One of those "easy to learn but difficult to master" games. Fun factor's off the scale. Great replay value by simply increasing difficulty and victory conditions which make you think more about where you deploy your units. I've sometimes spent up to 10 minutes considering strategy and tower placement before even starting the level! Fun colourful graphics and humour. I can't wait for the next release. Worse part of this game - the Zombie Tricksters...AAaarrggghh!

An AMAZING game!. Again a fantastic game. But I think it was a bit hard. I love the idea of interactive things in all of the levels but I wish there were more interactive things to do. I also think there needs to be a few more levels.

Love it but.... I love this game but a thing that could be improved on is how the artillery tower becomes either a ground pounder or a mech. Why not an expensive upgrade for it to make it a more powerful artillery mortar? I'm fine if they don't implement this but would be nice. Other than that this game is perfect, and full of secret references I love it. oh p.s READ THIS----> if you get the combination on the giant monkey level with the buttons on the right Indiana jones comes out and squashes the alien eggs YAY!!!

Like everyone else says, Simply flawless.. You gotta love a game that inspires you to write an epic tale of a 30 second battle you just witnessed. Your wizards and enemy witchdoctors will fight over corpses either turning them into animated skeletons or zombies, respectively. This is what the Lord of the Rings should have been, had Sauron gained the Ring of Power, but maybe we'll see it in Day Z 2. 8). .. Haha, I mean World War Z 2.

Can't believe it's better than the first. I give my hat to the team that made this game, I love playing on hard mode in both kingdom rush and this one and it feels even more challenging than the first! Excellent strategy game I really recommend this to everyone. It's my favourite game on the iPad, it's lasting for ages aswell!

An excellent little game. Manages to have real character and charm in a tower defence game. Small decisions have a large impact and the outcome, particularly on harder difficulty. One of the few games I am trying to 100%, would definitely recommend.

Best Tower Defence Game!. An 'un-put-down-able ' game that has a variety of content and addictive gameplay, Though I thought the heroes were expensive. The tower upgrades are awesome and I like how you have a choice of upgrading 2 level 4 towers. The levels are always so entertaining and challenging. Strategy is the key in this game. A must-have game for the Ipad!

Worth it. This game is by far the best game I've ever played on the iPad or phone. It's gameplay and graphics are stunning and it's addicting nature will have you sitting on the couch playing it for hours. I strongly recommend this and can't wait for others to come out. Also if you have the money I would buy the others as well, it's that GOOD

Kingdom rush & frontiers. These two games are hands down the best games on my iPad. I play either of them every night to switch off. They are a blast and I am on my fourth play through on each of them. Well worth your few dollars considering the hours of playtime.

Tower defence at it's very best. Kingdom Rush Frontiers is my favourite of the Kingdom Rush series. It has endless playability - and keeps your mind occupied with hours of challenging gameplay. Each tower brings an intriguing style to way the game plays out. Highly recommended.

Awesome Update .. Please fix bug on level 3rd new level. Great game .. Love the update .. But please fix the bug in the 3rd level, you get to level 15/15 and you kill all the enemies, but there is always one enemy frozen from level 13 or 14 .. No more enemies combing .. but the game will not end, so I've wasted a heap of coin and it does this every time you play...

Reasonable. In the original Kingdom Rush, before all the updates, there weren't any heroes. I kinda prefered it that way because I feel that the game is much less balanced with heroes. One particular skill of a hero when maxed out, just makes the game trivial. Introducing heroes is fun but at the end of the day it's another way to offer in game purchases. Like some, I thought it was rather expensive to purchase a 7 dollar hero. But then again, we don't need it to play the game. This is still one of my favourite tower defense games but I just thought the developers were kinda focused on trying to make more money.

Everything the first had to offer and more!. Absolutely adored the first Kingdom Rush, hands down the best Tower defence mobile game on the market. Then came along the sequel Kingdom Rush: Frontiers which has everything that made Kingdom Rush so amazing and added a bunch of extra towers, enemies and heroes. If you're a fan of Kingdom Rush or a fan of tower defence in general, then do yourself a favour and buy this game.

Great all round!. Great gameplay, solid levels, fantastic tower defence game. The cute cartoony graphics and clever pop culture references hidden around the levels mean you keep finding little jokes throughout a few replays. And you always want to replay it because of the way the upgrade system is setup. Well worth the purchase, and I wouldn't mind buying a few in app things, too, just to say thanks for the effort the developers put in!

Excellent game but short. I find this to be one of the better games I've played on the ipad, I'm disappointed in the levels though, I believe their should be at least twice as many... Otherwise great graphics, feel, tower content and the rest.

Love it. This is my favorite TD games , it's unique , innovative and challenging . It's a rare defense game that you never get bored on every level . It's definitely my top 5 must have iOS games . But beware is addictive and hard .. 10 stars . Keep the updates rolling and hope the developer is working on another big titles . Ps: hope the developer can make equipments , such as weapons , armor or increase more lv for the hero's for there next update . It's simply fun training and increase the strength of your hero's.

This game is god. They managed to release another great game game. I’ve been playing since the first kingdom rush and I’ve never been disappointed. There are great level and the art style is sooooo good. There is a lot of diversity so you won’t get bored. But you actually have to have a strategy which is good because it’s the whole point of the game. But seriously get this game!

Great game, just wish there were more updates. Best tower defence game I've played on the iPad. It's been ages now though since they've released any proper new levels (not just a survival mode). There are inapp purchases but you don't need to buy any to finish. Highly recommend but if the developers read this please make more levels :)

Makes the original look small. The new game is great it has plenty of gameplay, technique and fun involved. The only bad part of the game was the amount of money you have to spend to get the hero's one of them cost more than the game but these features are worth it and I recommend buying them for the best experience Overall great game I hope to see more updates and levels coming out for t.

Awesome game, played again and again, but.... Love the game, challenging and addictive. Thanks for the 3 Halloween campaigns, but it seems to have a bug where an enemy is visible but can't be attacked, it is " stuck" on the screen and the level cannot be completed. Pls fix! Thanks

Best Defensive game since the first Kingdom Rush!. Not only it has the addictiveness of the original Kingdom Rush but it also added more cool Heroes, Villains, towers, etc etc! Please , if u can , add an infinity mode. The game gets pretty interesting if u have built and maxed out all your towers but then the game ends. So pls. Make an infinity mode.

FUN!!!!!. This game is just as great as the first but the casual setting could be a touch easier not a lot just a little bit and there should be upgrades that let you get more gold for killing enemies not just for the assassin tower but for every tower.

Kingdom smash. Really good series of games. Super enjoyable when just chillin on the couch. Pretty to pick up

On the A List. Exceptional, there's no other word for it. A perfect balance of intense 'just one more go' gameplay. Plenty of challenges and additional hero characters to bring you back for more. Iron hide improve on an already winning formula. A must buy for fans of the first!

Brilliant once again. THE BEST TOWER DEFENCE SERIES EVER!! This second installment is just as good as the first, with some favourites still there but new heroes and different game plays and tough enemies. I love how veteran (hard mode) is HARD! Finally a great challenge! *LOVE the new Halloween update - excellent as usual and very funny graphics and animations ! LOVE THIS GAME

Best game ever!!. I thought the first kingdom rush was unbeatable, but I was wrong. Good job!! But can you please add more levels or upgrades for the heroes, it was too easy to max them out. I got bone heart as my hero and I just maxed him out in ten minutes, kinda a waste for just 4 levels.

great game, but unrealistic AI. The game is just an expansion to the previous Kingdom Rush, but still on full prize. Still a great game, but impossibely hard even on the easiest level. They say the "casual" mode should be selected by someone new to tower defense games, but even it's set to such a difficulty level, that I think a seasoned fighter would find it hard to play through this game...

They have done it again. I have been waiting for a sequel for ages and Frontiers is once again keeping me up at night! They have done a great job extending the game with new monsters, towers, heroes and more. I cannot wait to see the aliens!

This is a lot better than the first one!. They made everything better but one thing that disappoints me is that they reused sounds and monsters like the wolv turning into the hounds overall still the best td game and nothing will ever change that

Great game however. Unique and enjoyable TD game that for awhile at least keeps you very interested and engaged. It doesn’t take long to work out however the player must be blessed with steely resolve and an infinite amount of patience to get through the middle levels. Is it a leader in this genre?, maybe, is it worth the download?, definitely!.

A lot of depth. I do enjoy playing this game and have had it since it came out. Lately, the game updates have increased the difficulty level quite a lot and I can only assume it's so that players buy more jewels so they can get special weapons. I like the challenge of playing without these "cheats" but I don't think they want you to play without them anymore. They have done this with all three games in the series. To be fair, they have also added extra content over the years.

Well worth it. A very fun tower defence game

Amazing Experience!. This game was amazing. All the heroes are unique and fun to play with, but you have to pay a tiny bit to get some. This is an offline, no ads tower defence game. I recommend to get all the Kingdom Rush games because all of them are great!

Recommended. If your getting a cheap hero, I would recommend Captain Blackthorne. If your getting a medium-priced hero I would recommend grawl. And if your getting a high priced hero for 6.99$ then I would recommend kahz or Dante. And finally for the dragons for 9.99$ I would recommend bonehart.

Great. Oh I remember pls ing this when I was 5 (I'm 10 now) it was great and it still is and some random YouTube video brought this back to me and I will finish the game this time

Great. A bit repetitive, and not many levels. Especially if you play it right after you complete the first KR. It's really fun tho. Not worth going for all 110 stars it gets boring.

Fun for the whole family. As with the first kingdom rush, there has been a certain amount of squabbling over who gets the iPad next :-) The levels get tough pretty fast compared to either of the other two KR games, which is more fun or possibly more frustrating depending how much you relish a challenge.

Best game I've played. Super fun and easy to understand right from the start. Brilliant. It's too bad that unlocking characters is outrageously expensive. Also, there are not enough levels and upgrades to max out heroes without having to repeat levels. Please add more levels, maybe with path selections. Also, would it be so terrible to allow TWO heroes at the same time? You could even develop some kind of dynamic between the two.... Also, please please please add some type of endless mode to build upon the replay-ability of the game. I've completed the game, but want more of a challenge. An endless mode with increasingly difficult and numerous enemies would be great.

Another Quality Ironhide Game. Certainly another hit from Ironhide Games. In this edition, they adhere to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" model, bringing back the same great gameplay of the original while tweaking the flow just enough to feel like a polished sequel. In this version, more emphasis on upgraded towers and strategy make your top towers feel much more powerful (which you need, because enemies are plentiful). The new hero leveling structure is a refreshing upgrade, as I feel that my hero really has an effect on each map, and their super powers feel more significant than in the last. Also, kudos to Ironhide for understanding the "in-app purchases" model...I never felt like I was required to buy anything extra to get a full game experience. The value added for purchasing new heros is completely optional. All in all, this is an A+ game, what I expected from an excellent development company. BEWARE: The final boss fight is a huge "dick" move that might make you hate the game, it certainly had me cussing at the screen. (Only part of the game that gems are required.) Update: New levels are a pass. Difficulty is ratcheted way too high. I just became frustrated and ended the game.

Excellent. Really one of the best tower defense games I've played, on any platform. "Frontiers" is a must-have if you liked the earlier one. Extremely well designed, and the pacing and humor really make it stand out. Its worth the initial money for the HD version on the iPad, and I don't get all the whining about the IAP's since they really are optional. I bought the original Kingdom Rush for $1, got several hours put of it, loved it, finished it on "normal" difficulty and didn't bother buying any if the locked heroes to do so. I'd be ticked if I felt I had no choice in buying a few heroes to finish it, but they chose to make it truly optional. I paid $5 for Frontiers and I'll probably buy one hero just because they clearly put a lot into making these hero-guys fun and entertaining. If I come away having spent $10 for both of these games plus a hero, I think it was all well worth it because the game is that good. There's a lotta garbage out there in app world! I payed about $10 in the late eighties to buy a Nintendo game called Urban Champion. Look it up, kids. It was a cartridge, we didn't have apps back then. That was a lot in 80's money, so I know what it's like to get burned on a crappy game. If you're a casual gamer who loves a good tower defense, the Kingdom Rush games are awesome. I'm definitely hoping they will continue the series.

I have an awesome idea. Ok I think I might have thought of the best idea EVER! You should be able to play campaigns as different teams example : play in the caves as the dwarves or maybe even play as the um green things BUT WITH TOWERS derp. You could play as the pirates on the beach or the lizard/fish people,or you could play pvp where one person gets to use the towers and the other gets to be the invader guys (you know the people you've been killing for several hours) and there should Be a map maker that you get to test out too. Sorry that I have so many ideas and you're about to die from reading but I honeslty think that these ideas are AMAZINGLY AMAZING!!!!!

Tales from the Front (how I got off the fence and into the game). Here's the bottom line: I let all the complaints about In-app Purchases drive me away from more than one game. Then, I began to wonder whether I was being paranoid. I think I was. The game does cost something, after all, I thought to myself, so that ought to translate into some kind of fun. I decided to try and see whether or not my experience was so limited by not buying into IAP that I felt bounced out of the game. The short answer is "not so far." Granted, I am not all the way through the game, but I have a hero and I can upgrade towers and abilities, and it seems that I can succeed at levels and have a fun time. I'm sure buying more powerful heroes makes the game easier, but if it nags you as a money grab (which it is), I think it important to remember that you are being provided with the core of a stable game. I would be rating this one star if and only if I believed that I had gotten a game I could not beat without shelling out for extras. I may not get perfect scores forever, although so far I have on normal mode, but I am having fun. If you like tower defense games with the feeling that you are in control of customizing your towers and hero, then this should please you. If you're going for perfect scores, be prepared to retry levels a few times to get it right.

Awesome. I can't believe how great this game is, and I came to it by accident. I looked at my messages and one of them said that this game was available. If I had never checked my messages I would have never known about this game. Right off the bat this is better than the last one, first off you can train heroes at the start of the game; and not cough up 15 stars to even unlock them, but you still have to pay for cooler heroes. That is a bit bothersome, maybe you could unlock them by doing certain objectives or something. That aside, this is still great. The barracks are relatively the same, but have little changes. Like the barracks can have assassins; which is the coolest part, along with being able to control the necromancers. All in all, awesome.

Amazing but can be hard.. I didn't play kingdom rush 1 so I'm not gonna say anything about 1 being better. But even if the game is extremely fun, it has some faults. It costed about $25 to get all the heroes. And the dragon costs $7 or $8. And the gems are only for bonuses that you can use only once after paying for it (with gems). Some levels are improbable to beat even on casual. But the game offers core mechanics that can be better, about the same, or worse than some other td (tower defense) games. This game is basically only for pro td players, such as myself and many others. If you are new to td games and want to try them out, I'd recommend Bloons tower defense 4 or 5 on mobile or computer, as it's on both. After you think that you've gotten enough practice with beginning td games, I'd recommend getting this ( or Kingdom Rush 1, based off of reviews I've seen). Even though I say these flaws as if they are forever, this is the first version and has only been released a few days ago, and there will most likely be future updates adding better items and upgrades, and also removing some bad things. So don't fret about what I've said. There are also no bugs I've seen yet and it has never crashed on me yet. I'd definitely recommend this game for td players but just what until future updates for some extra items. Also, though the levels can be very hard, it gives a challenge to players. Overall, though this game has its flaws, it gets a 5 out of 5 in my book.

THE tower defense game to get! Charming, Challenging and Polished.. Ironhide has done a great job with Frontiers by making it comfortably similar to its predecessor 'Kingdom Rush' while still incorporating plenty of new towers, characters, and maps; along with a double dose of the charm and polish that make this franchise stand head and shoulders above the rest. This game is gracefully simple to pickup and play, and yet wickedly challenging when you are up for it. I must have squeezed dozens of hours of play time out of the original Kingdom Rush and I fully anticipate spending at least as many hours playing this gem. Believe it or not, one of the key reasons I purchased an iPad was to have this masterpiece at my fingertips. Thanks for all your hard work Ironhide, it really shows!

A worthy successor. At first glance, little appears new. But then again, there wasn't anything that needed to be changed, on the surface. The look is great, the animations & sound are perfect - so it already starts off on the right foot. It's not until you get a few levels in that the changes start creeping in. Sentences like "Oh, that's a little different... Huh, that power up totally changes things." become more and more frequent as you progress. By the time you've spent a few hours playing, you'll really appreciate all the changes. The revamped heroes, the new power ups, the clever new achievements & easter eggs make this game familiar but completely new. Well worth the money. Oh, and did I mention Ninjas?

Definitely worth buying. Very great game, I absolutely love the way this game manages to keep the basics of the first game and combine them with newer features of the game! My only problem is that I just expected "more" from the game. Im not saying gameplay wise, but more quantity rather than quality. The game has less levels and less enemies than the original. I mean for a paid game I expected it to have more than the original, but that doesn't really ruin the game for me. The new hero leveling up and upgrading system is AMAZING. Although I really think you should have made the towers more powerful (DWAARP) and made the abilities cheaper. Otherwise great game and definitely worth your time!

Very fun, but we should only pay once. I would have given this game the 5 stars it deserves had the developers not been greedy. I believe that gamers should pay just one price for a game and be done with it. But apparently enough people out there are making enough in-game purchases that most developers have gone this direction. Very sad. I knew that they would try to make it so you would pay additional in-app fees when I bought it. But having played the previous version, I knew I could get around it. Be warned, the game is slightly harder than the predecessor, even on the easy level. I suspect this is intentional inn order to get you to buy more gems. Other than that annoying feature, it's a good game.

Great game!. Don't listen to the little whiny kids below. Their poor rating is because of their own entitlement issues. Building on the original kingdom rush, this game definitely follows suite however have thrown in new elements to freshen it up. Very challenging and addictive, it's is well worth more than the asking price. The only money you will ever dole out on this game are some of the additional heroes. However, if you have a decent IQ, you will learn how to strategically concur this game with all stars and shields with out spending an additional dime. The last game, new levels were rolled out. The updates automatically opened the new levels. You did not have to pay to play them. As in this last update, they were included and I'm sure will not charge again. However, if they did charge, I would gladly pay. Don't know about the rest of you, but my time is important and I deserve to get paid for what I do. Same for developers. They've made a great game and ill be happy to support them. So please.... Those that feel you shouldn't pay to play this or other games, you don't deserve to play them in the first place. You aren't a gamer, you are a loser.

Best iPad game ever. Fun, attractive, and challenging.. People who trash this game because certain heroes cost additional money are irrational. DLC is a business model of modern video gaming. Ironhide does a respectable job with their DLC because the only thing they up charge for are heroes that are not necessary to enjoy the game for many hours. The heroes they allow you to use with the standard game are effective and fun. That being said, this is the best tablet/mobile game I have ever played hands down. It is honestly one of the better video games I have played during my nearly 20 years of gaming. The graphics are very attractive and colorful. The level design is creative and varied. The gameplay is stellar. "Rush" defines what touchscreen gaming is all about. Not only is tower placement important and logically challenging, but the order and extent of tower upgrading is also vital. Making good use of your meteor strikes and placing soldiers correctly every 10 seconds keeps the game fast paced and constantly strategic. By the way, there is no lag. In terms of tower defense this is also the best ever. The towers are formidable and awesome to watch in action. The enemies are diverse and require different approaches. 5 stars. If you like tower defense games buy it! If you're too cheap to buy a game for more than $0.99 then ask for a raise or stop smoking crack and save some money. This game is digital crack.

Hours and hours of fun for a few bucks. Strongly recommended.. This game is better than the first game, and the first game was my favorite game on the iPad. IAP aren't necessary to win, they only make winning easier and quicker. If you are an impatient person then you might feel obligated to buy the in app purchases, but if you just enjoy the game and have fun playing... You will get the germs you need to progress to the end. In the grand scheme of things $4.99 is a meal at McDonald's. The difference is that the meal at McDonald's will give you 20 minutes of pleasure whereas this game will give you 10 hours+ of pleasure. I really hope this company makes a third sequel, I would gladly shell out another $5 for it.

Fantastic. I enjoyed the first one so much, I bought the sequel without hesitation. This game manages to keep all the good of the original while adding some fun elements. The maps themselves are more interactive and add some fun "Easter-eggs". The hero system has evolved from its original state and now feels more like an integrated part of the game. Other reviewers have complained about the purchase price of the heroes. I see why they would be upset if they felt the need to buy them all. However, you can play (and beat) the game without purchasing them so don't let that effect your decision. Also, I did purchase a hero, and can assure you that is not "pay-to-win", the hero is fun and I enjoy his play-style, but the game was still challenging. My one complaint would be that they did not keep the old advanced towers. I really enjoy many of the new towers but would have preferred to have both (and I think it would provide a good sense of continuity). Nothing to detract from the game or its rating, but would have been nice. Kingdom Rush was my all-time favorite iPad game; then the sequel came out.

KRF is better than the original. If you haven't played the original you are missing out. If you have, then Frontiers is even better. The game is a little more difficult, and I thought the original was a little too easy, so this is just right. The heroes are better (although I wish they were cheaper so I could actually buy them) because of the constant leveling up rather than resetting each level. The levels are each unique and present new strategies, and come with their own surprises. The new enemies are harder to plan for, and the towers bring new upgrades. The sound fx and artwork is great as always and the story is an added bonus. I've waited forever for this game and once it was released I thoroughly enjoyed it. KRF is the best game I have played this year!! Thank You Ironhide Games

Just... Wow.. The game is so much fun. There is hours and hours of gameplay. You can spend a good 15 minutes on one stage! It is so much fun to just pick up a game, pause, and get right back into the action later. There are lots of heroes, (even though you have to pay for the good ones, which is super annoying), and the hero leveling system is nice, compared to the old one. The bosses are all different, and I don't feel much repetitiveness. The addition of new skills for the heroes, is very nice. In the old game, it didn't even tell you that the hero had any skills to use. Now, you know, and in a way, you can control the skills that you want to be more powerful. My final note is that the game itself is fun. Because of the way they release the towers through the campaign, it is fun to test out the towers, try other upgrades, and even sell to buy other ones. Each tower is different. I don't feel the sense of the mage being over powerful, or the marksman being too strong, due to the armor system. All in all, great game. Worth every penny and more. 5/5

Excellent!. Frontiers is every bit as good as the first, and then some. New towers, maps, and enemies makes it feel new all over again. Thankfully, most everything else remains the same. IAPs are available but are by no means required. Thank you for that!! There are some great extras within the game that keep it interesting as well. In terms of difficulty, it's by no means easy, but it's a little less impossible in the higher difficulties than the first one, especially once you level up your hero. If you liked the first one, you will likely love Frontiers. If I'm going to nit pick, it would be nice if games could save to iCloud, enabling you to play on one device (like an iPad), and pick up where you left off on another (like an iPhone).

Ok, but less than you pay for. The game is straightforward tower defense with light rp elements. The initial difficulty is above average but doable. As far as fairness and balance I'd say this is above average. For the cost, the number of levels is pretty low though, and there's definitely nothing notable or new here. (And no, replaying on two other difficulties is not more content.) I purchased two additional heroes and they did not seem to sway fights my way, just add slightly different things. They are definitely not required for the first two difficulty settings. My estimation was around 8 hours total gameplay out of this app, mostly because of the fairly slow pace of play. Overall it's average tower defense at a premium price.

Nearly perfect. I love this game but I’m a sucker for a good tower defense style game. This and the previous installment of this game are definitely favorites of mine. I dislike all the in-app purchase stuff but it is by no means necessary to allow enjoying the game. Everything can be done and won without it just need to be persistent. I have several complaints that keep it from getting 5 stars: 1 - Doesn’t use iCloud to allow transferring save games between devices 2 - Isn’t universal - one game should work on iPad and iPhone 3 - Thinks it is still Nintendo days by giving THREE (and only three) save slots. I have seven people in my family and this is a real pain in the neck. 4 - I like sessions to be short and sweet and they are just a tad too long. 15 waves per level on normal can be as much as 30 minutes. More levels that with them lasting 15-20 minutes would be better. 5 - Did I mention there are only THREE save slots?!?! This game and the levels WITHOUT in-app purchases actually seems much easier than the previous Kingdom Rush. Not sure if that is a good thing or bad. I think it took me much longer to get to the big bad guy in the previous installment. Can’t imagine playing this and not liking it.

I paid the 5 bucks for the ipad version as the one for the phone is too small for me to enjoy....but I agree with everyone...there really shouldnt be 2 versions (ipad and iphone)....from a business standpoint...think about it...more access points, more chance for people the show the game to others as well as buy the "extras" the game offers......I think your business guy may want to re-look at this financial model. Anyhow the game is very similar to the last one, which I thoroughly enjoyed.....I was hoping for some changes....but as I said its same same but a bit different. So I guess it barely meets my expectations......but I must admit I am not overwhelmed. I hope you will invest more in development and creativity or this franchise may sour.... I give it 3 stars for these reasons. Your last game was total 5 stars. Cheers

Similar to the first one and that's good!. 1) At first I thought I wasted $5 because it was the same sound effects and same game essentially. But I soon realized that it had a lot of new characters and cool little background things happening like the banta and sand people from Star Wars or the sand worm from Dune etc. fun game 2) for all those complaining about the price, it is $5 to have a fun game and the first wasn't a $1 for long, it was just on sale. I never really used the heroes that much in the first one so don't complain about adding more heroes or paying for the heroes. 3) I do wish there was a fast forward option. If it's 15 waves and I know wave 7 is my tough wave, why make me sit through that. Provide a fast forward button like most tower defense games. 4) it's a little counter intuitive to understand each of the characters weaknesses from just an icon. Maybe spell it out. "Magic hurts them". Overall - great game. I wish it was universal, but I'd probably rarely play on my iPhone anyway. Keep updates coming and think about other themes like dinosaurs or space or more medieval stuff or fantasy levels like clash of the titans type stuff or a cowboy level. Cut the rope did a time travel based theme and the new plants vs zombies will be time bases too (can't wait for that one). Time based opens up a bunch of fun levels.

More than enough.. I happen to live the new kingdom rush and all it offers and want to address some things. IAP is quite pricey and I agree it is a little ridiculous to spend 7$ in a hero but there in lies my point it's a hero. The three heroes provided are more than enough to beat the game and in my opinion very unique and fun to use. Each has their own play style and I plan on upgrading them all to level 10. I enjoyed the game without worrying about IAPs or using gems for that matter and think it is a complete experience that you can enhance if you wish to put out the extra money. I noticed in other peoples review that the game required use of the store. I've beaten every level on normal and half on veteran without using any gems. I suggest leveling your hero more and that should help with the difficulty. The only thing I will complain about is sometimes my mortar towers shoot in the opposite direction of the enemy but I am sure the bug will be fixed. The only thing that brings my review down to a four is that the IAPs have at least a subtle price drop. I love iron hide studios and the kingdom rush series and wish to continue to support it with IAPs but at the costs it is now its hard for me to take that step. I loved the new addition and can't wait to see what awaits us on the frontier with coming updates. Oh and ps .sound doesn't play on my version without headphones in try to fix that.

Great game with fun new towers!. First off, for those giving this game 1 star because of having to pay for additional heroes... just stop. The heroes are a novelty; the game can be played just fine without having to shell out more dollars after your initial purchase. Game plays just like the original Kingdom Rush, but with some nice new towers. Those familiar with tower defense games can jump right in. Ability to choose your difficulty is also nice, and the little animations and voicing of in game units is humorous. My only criticism is that the game did feel a little bit short, but going back and playing all difficulty levels does give some decent replay value. Can't complain too much for a $5 purchase! Well worth the price of admission... those griping about the additional purchases are just looking for something to complain about. If you are like this, then by all means pass on buying this gem. Otherwise, well done on being cool and play with confidence!

Unbelievable!. I've seen some good tower defense games. This is by far the best one I've ever played. You can have you bloons tower defense. I'll stick with my Kingdom Rush. I love the art and how cute and funny the enemies and troops look. Although you probably won't read this, I would love if you made a third game. I would buy it as soon as I heard about it. It would be cool to see some heroes that you can buy with gems. I think it would be cool to have at least One special upgrade for each tower path. Like having an upgrade for the Necromancer Tower that allows the skeletons to have the ability of the enemy that they came from. As this would be an extremely good upgrade, it should cost around 10,000 maybe more. You could also make this an iap. I love the storyline but I would love if it was a little bit longer or instead of a comic strip you could have little videos before certain levels. It would be cool if you could unlock the special heroes from certain levels ( I don't want to spoil them) and even buy an upgrade allowing you to have two heroes in one level! I hope you make a third game soon! Until then, I'll be playing the first and second games to death! I hope you read my suggestions! Thank you!

Awesome game, even with the extra $$$. I stinking love this game- it is simply the best out there at what it does. Do I wish it didn't require me to make purchases in game to keep enjoying myself- yes. But hello! The game only costs $2.99 to start with and you don't HAVE to make those purchases if you don't want to. I personally have never bought a Hero- I am intrigued by them, but not enough to pay- that is my choice. I do have an idea, though- why not have a few additional "prizes" unlock at the harder levels? Gems, coin, heroes, even special items would really reward those who are putting in the time but do not have unlimited funds- and might encourage them to spend a *little* to get to/through the toughest challenge levels.

Don't Fix What Ain't Broken. But.... I was ecstatic when I heard that a new Kingdom Rush was coming out. In all honesty, I was more excited about this game than the Xbox One. And having played through a good portion of the game, I can say without a doubt in my mind that Ironhide Studios has crafted another winner. But as a veteran player of the first game, I don't feel the same challenge that I did with the former. Sure, there's a little bit of a learning curve with the new advanced towers, but for the most part, Frontiers remains true to its predecessor, for better or worse, with different faces adorning the same enemies from the first game. While I can't complain about the gameplay itself, and maybe I'm just being picky, there just isn't that same spark that drove me to complete the game in three days like the original KR did. And for the people complaining about the price of heroes: Heroes aren't supposed to be essential to the game. They weren't even a part of the original game until an update. Heroes are there to make the game easier for those having a tough time on a level. (Also, no perk to reduce the cost of artillery towers? It almost makes them not worth the ridiculously steep price.)

My personal least favorite Kingdom Rush game, but still very good. Kingdom Rush Frontiers is a great game, as well as a worthy sequel to the legendary Kingdom Rush, but I am disappointed on some aspects of it. I will start with the positives: 1. The heroes are much better in this game then they were in the original. They actually level up and don’t reset with each try. Thee are also upgrades for them to strengthen their abilities. Origins further improved this by giving heroes their own Hero Spell, and thus perfected the formula. 2. The gameplay is as great as ever. Fun Easter Eggs can be found in pretty much every level, and the towers offer many play styles. Every tower is amazing if you see their true potential. The voice acting is also nice, but I suggest adding a “Mute voices” option. It honestly can get very annoying to hear “Reinforce!” every time you summon reinforcements. 3. Bosses are much better than the original too. They no longer just walk slowly to the exit; they all have their own abilities to keep you on your toes. Quincon is probably my favorite of them. Leviathan is way too easy though, but that’s just a nitpick. Unfortunately, now for the negatives: 1. The difficulty. This is no doubt the hardest game in the series, and I like a good challenge, but WOW. The game starts ramping up when enemies such as Dune Terrors, Giant Scorpions, and Sand Wraiths are added. Their abilities are too dangerous for the early game. Later on, there are enemies that revive others, and even can become invisible! I don’t even need to mention the Saurian Deathcoil. There are others too, but that’ll take way too long to mention. The stages “The Sunken Citadel” and “Dusk Chateau” are pretty much the hardest Kingdom Rush Stages ever. They’re beatable, but more casual players won’t like this very much. I can beat them without losing lives, as well as without using items, but Holy Moly. 2. On the subject of Heroes, some of them are more overpowered than others. Most of them cost money, so I don’t use them; I only use the free heroes. Captain Blackthorne and Bonehart are broken. Blackthorne generates lots of extra money when enemies are defeated around him, while Bonehart has an ability that does lots of group damage across an entire path. Watch gameplay and you’ll see what I mean. Other heroes such as Kahz and Mirage seem too weak. Kahz never stops fighting and thus dies often, while Mirage has weak HP and damage. Perhaps they could be balanced out? This is still a great game though, and I have fun playing, but it’s my personal least favorite in the series. Tower Defense fans will love it, but casual fans might get turned away by the difficulty.

Great game but..... I really enjoy this game a lot. I don't think it's the best TD game ever (TD is my favorite genre) but its definitely in the top 5 if not the top 2 (sorry but FieldRunners is #1). I have 2 major complaints about this game. First, it's too short. I beat all levels with 3 stars in a few sessions over a few days. I want more levels! I don't think the "challenges" are that interesting either. Yes they're challenging but just not that interesting. Second, some of the IAP heroes are ridiculously over-priced. There's no way I'm paying $3-$7 for a single hero. I have a feeling the most expensive hero probably makes it darn near impossible to lose. What fun is that? Plus why would I pay MORE for an IAP hero than what I paid for the game? Especially a game that's over so fast. If this game had more than the 21 some odd maps then I could definitely see it but as it stands the game is over much too fast for such expensive IAP's. Heres an idea. Why not make the heroes acquirable by some other means like crystals or stars? Or have it so that the player can use his/her crystals or stars to reduce the expensive heroes to 99¢? That seems reasonable and it adds replay value (something this game is not terribly strong on is replay value). I like the game a lot but feel the game price-to-value is way off. Reduce the prices or increase the value and you've got a home-run!!

Heroes don't matter!. This game is great! I don't get all these people complaining about costly heroes! Just use the three heroes provided or you don't even have to use them at all. I remember when the original game first came out and there were no heroes, now heroes are just add ons you can buy to help make levels easier. The levels ARE complete-able without crazy strong dragons or warlords to help you. Sure, the purchasable heroes are very flashy and cool, and range up to seven dollars apiece, but that doesn't mean players HAVE to get them, or HAVE to whine about the prices. The game is an excellent sequel to the original, although five dollars for the game is rather expensive. Still this company has managed not to succumb to adds, and many customers, including my family, would pay any amount of money to keep it that way.

100 percent amazing but.... Please put in more levels and heroes. I also do not appreciate the fact that heroes are paid for, although this is one of my favorite games I wish that special heroes like the black corsiar and Rurin long beard were availible for standard gameplay. More towers and enemy's please and bosses. Please make the towers like dwarf soilders that Rurin long beard commands and dwarf sharpshooters normal towers Just an idea but maybe you could Make an endless mode starting out with ten thousand gold and have a larger battlefeild. It wold be cool if you could have a mode were you attack the monsters. I have more suggestions though doughtful you will read them or want to read them so I will leave them untouched.

Don't worry about the price!. I really enjoyed the original and this is no different. An excellent sequel to a very enjoyable tower-defense game. Good defense variety and the new leveling system for the heroes is a much needed change. I've already gotten my $5 worth and I haven't even beaten the main story. For those of you worried about the in-app purchases, don't be. They are completely unnecessary for the average player and really just a bonus if you want a new hero. The three that you can play without paying more are plenty, I'm still using the first guy. I admit that the prices for the extra heroes is a bit steep ($7 for the dragon), but since you don't need them you shouldn't let that stop you from purchasing this game. Although if they were $1 a pop I would be much more likely to purchase them, but I believe they would detract from the challenge of the game. Overall, a wonderful gem of a defense game with some nice rpg aspects. Should have some decent replay-ability if you want to give yourself different challenges as well.

Great Sequel. Kingdom Rush is a great Tower Defense game, and Frontiers is a great sequel. Whole new artwork with dynamic backgrounds, new towers, new Hero-leveling scheme, and new baddies. All of it combine to make a very worthy "part 2" to Kingdom Rush. My sole complaint lies in the challenge... perhaps I had spent so much time becoming a seasoned veteran of the original Kingdom Rush that my strategies have naturally allowed me to progress through the levels with relative ease, but I feel the new game comes up a bit short challenge wise. I've completely passed all levels at all difficulties, leveled up my heroes (no extra heroes purchased) within about two days, whereas I remember spending several days trying to pass some of the "Iron Challenges" in the original. I suppose there is a happy medium between a game being too challenging that it becomes completely frustrating, and being so easy that it's not really engaging... I wonder how others feel about the challenge level presented in Frontiers. Admittedly it took some tries to really get that last level, but after each success I found myself wondering "that's it?" Great artwork, great design, I love the screaming as my towers knock climbers down, but I'll be waiting for some additional levels presenting something a little more rewarding for the 'seasoned' players out there :-)

Lovely. My favorite strategy game for the meantime 😍
