Ralphs Comments & Reviews 2026
Total crap. I’ve tried using clipped coupons several times in stores, and most of the time it does not automatically add the discount even after I add my rewards number in. I find out after I leave, and it’s not enough to warrant returning to the store to fix this. This seems like unethical marketing practices. I end up buying a more expensive products thinking I’ll receive the discount, when I could have just gone with a cheaper option. Also, there is no clear and easy way to find the “clipped” coupons from the app, so instead of standing at checkout holding up the line while I check each price of the clipped coupons, I choose to trust that the discounts were included. Clearly there is something faulty with either the checkout system or the app.
Gave up and went back to ordering from my PC. This app is impossible to navigate to actually buy something for pick up. It lets you put items on a list BUT that is not the cart and then you have to place items from the list into the cart. One by one. It makes no sense to have to do these multiple steps. And it’s very hard to find things. On the PC, through their website it remembers what I’ve bought and makes it super easy to create an order to pick up. The app is shockingly bad. My 13-year old could design a better one. Don’t waste your time trying to order food from the iPad - just go get your laptop and use it.
Recent updates are problematic. I really enjoyed using the list function in the past because it sorted items by location and was really useful...but now if I make my list at home or on the go, for some reason, my list disappears once I close and restart the app. I’ve take to adding items I need to my cart to preserve my list but this is tedious and doesn’t give me the great functionality of that the actual list provides when it is working correctly. Also, I will second those reviews that have said to please get rid of store mode. It interrupts my use of the app and I don’t really understand the point of it. Searching for individual items has become problematic as well with recent updates and I have having to tell the app with every search for every item whether I want to search for all items ( I presume for shipping??) or in store. I’m hoping some of these problem will be fixed with the next update. Prior to the recent set of updates I really liked this app.
Good app, but still needs a few key things. I use the app on a weekly basis and so far so good, but it lacks one super important feature that all customers would totally agree with me on. The ability to scan in the Kroger coupons that Ralph’s sends you weekly! Theses coupons are usually specific to your buying habits and Ralph’s knows this. No one like to carry the ziplock bag full of them every time you go shopping. Why not add this feature, it will save us from having to sort for them while at check out and it will save the cashier the time it takes to scan them.
Too many updates, trying to do too much. I despise using the Ralphs app. There are too many mandatory updates, which break the functionality of previous versions… Today, I opened the app, and wondered: “is it not loading because of an internet problem or is there another update?” It was the latter. After the update, I then had to log in, again, once I remembered my password. If that could be saved in my phone, I would do that, but the app/login page seems to be designed in such a way that it’s not a possibility. So many of the updates don’t seem to make the app any more intuitive. As is, Ralphs is trying to pack in too many suggested lists/promotions/“quality picks”/“top deals”/“featured” products that feel like ads, etc.
Once you become a regular customer it’s hard to change.. I’ve always been a Ralphs shopper and don’t like when I have to go to Vons, and Vons customers don’t like Ralphs, strange since they’re both similar, and stores like Albertsons carry more sku’s so they have a better selection, but I still prefer Ralphs, go figure. People follow their habits, and for some reason grocery stores are extremely habit forming. When Albertsons bought Lucky they changed the name of the stores, causing a good percentage of them to go out of business, because people hate switching grocery stores. Nowadays, when a grocery store buys out a competitor, they leave the competitors name on the buildings, they’ve learned. So I give a five star review out of default, whether they deserve it or not, because it’s the only store I shop.
Not very user friendly. This app is not very user friendly compared to the other grocery store shopping apps I’ve used. It’s better than what I used to shop for stater bros. Target by far has the best user interface and then Albertsons and vons comes next. I found it very annoying that once you would click on an item that there was no back button to go back to your search page. The only back button provided was the general aisle the food would be in. So once you went back you had to restart the search all over again and if you had filters you can forget about those. The setup was not pleasing to the eye. Lastly I needed to see how much I had in my bank account so I left the app. Mind you I spent 30 mins shopping and picking out everything, making my substitutions, using the dumb interface that doesn’t have a back button causing me to constantly restart my search for A) the system to have logged me out after only 10 mins. If I can actively stay logged in to a concert site buying tickets without losing my place in line that long I should be able to come back to my place in the app but I couldn’t that’s fine. No problem at least they would’ve saved my cart. B) The app DIDNT EVEN DO THAT. So now the 30 mins I spent using this DUMB interface was wasted because this interface is well dumb and poorly thought out. It is unfortunate that due to my schedule online shopping is what’s best for me so I will have to use this again or go to another store. But ralphs has a few things that vons and Albertsons dont. So this is a truly unnecessary pickle that I hope the program engineers fix soon. To bad my time is getting wasted in the process
Not Happy we should all boycott. I am very unhappy with Ralphs because they don’t take Apple Pay but yet they have an iPhone app. What makes these people think they can absorb the benefits of being in the App Store but not allow iPhone or Apple users to simply use Apple Pay in the stores like every other vendor. I have copied another complaint that another person has here about the app and as I took the time to go through other reviews I see a lot of complaints so hopefully we can get some thing done here. I have an app as well it’s more of a social media app and I have hundreds of thousands of followers and I am really looking to start a boycott with this not having Apple Pay thing. We just can’t stand by and let stores behave this way. I don’t care what the reason is they should offer this for the consumers who have iPhones there are millions and millions of us out here with them and we use Apple Pay. Now below is the pasted complaint from someone else that I agree with as well so here goes… “11:45 4 « Back Ratings & Reviews Review of your website and phone app! 大大大公众 Jan 2 Upset old school You guys got a lot of work to do!!! The website and the app are a pain… these are not user- friendly!!! There's too many pop- ups and too much crap getting in the way!! There has to be an easier way to look at my previous orders and cross reference the items that I would like to get again without having to open each particular or individual past order!! Furthermore, when you search for things the search mode won't find certain items that I know are there because I've been in the store a dozen times even on the same day I've placed a delivery order!!??? As an example, for hard boiled eggs you only list the organic when I know. there's the Kroger brand there too!!!??? Wow is that an Today Games Apps Arcade Q Search”
Cart has persistent bugs. The shopping cart has persistent bugs. Items you order disappear from the cart list, but when you go to re-as the item, the ap shows 1 already in cart, even though it doesn’t appear in the cart list. This has happened to me on three separate occasions. Also, the search is quirky. If you search “coffee beans” it returns “no items”, but a search of “whole coffee beans” returns a nice selection of beans interspersed among a bunch of semi-related and unrelated items. You can work through it, but it needs some tuning to be a competitive product. Service at the store is great, and overall door pickup is a very helpful service which I appreciate, but Kroger needs to put in some work if they ever expect to charge a fee for this.
On the right track, needs lots of improvements. I love being able to get groceries delivered. Convenience is awesome! Ralph’s app supposedly applies the coupons once the items are checked out, and supposedly credits my Ralph’s cards with points. But like any other online shopping experience, I want to know what I am really being charged BEFORE I check out. Sure, I get that if I’m buying a chunk of meat, the final weight and price will be different, but please acknowledge which coupons were applied. The free delivery coupons are almost never applied. Which then require me to call customer service, which has me waiting, and talking on the phone. People use apps because people don’t want to talk to people! There isn’t a button on the app to make inquiries about the charges or to ask questions about missing items or poor substitutions. What happens when my bananas show up smashed? What if the milk didn’t get delivered, but I got charged? I have to call Ralph’s and wait for someone to answer. Also, the search engine needs improvement. Smart search is a must. It shouldn’t matter if I use the singular of plural version of a word. They should both work. As for the actual delivery, I’m puzzled why some reviewers are complaining about the service here. This is about the app, not the actual shopping and delivering. Yes, there are mistakes and annoyances, but that is what happens when we ask someone else to shop for our groceries.
Worst App. I’ve seen junior high students make better apps than this. The app has so many problems it’s not practical to use in the store. It not only continuously logs you off the account every time you switch screens, it gives you an error when you try to log back in…that is unless it doesn’t completely freeze and force close first. When it does work and you find a coupon you want to use, you must re-log in even though you’ve already gone through the pain of that, except you cant use the coupon because now it’s asking you to confirm your email address for the 3rd time. And when you do click the link to confirm your email address, it just takes you to a website where you have to face log in yet again. And nowhere does this “app”, which appears to be a wrapped web browser in many places, ask you to save your login information. Worst app I could think of. Its the opposite of well designed. How hard can we make this was the motto behind this design.
The biggest blessing to SAHM!. Now that I have a 2 year old and a3 month old let’s face it. Nothing is harder than getting them both grocery shopping ready. From last minute melt downs to a dirty diaper as I load the car seat it’s hard doing anything easily. Ralphs delivery has been a HUGE blessing and totally lifts some of the stress when needing to get grocery shopping done. I have used the delivery system 4 times already and it’s been a game changer! I don’t mind the fact that they substitute some out of stock items and like that you can choose which ones. Also, applying the coupons is easy and saves you more time and money! All the shoppers I’ve had have also been awesome and tip is included in the price. I would recommend anyone with kids, a full schedule, or home bound to use this app and service!
RALPHS HAS MAD THIS DIFFICULT TIME TOLERABLE. We have ordered from Albertsons, for delivery. Everything worked out. However, never had a slot available for second order. Next we ordered from Vons. On line ordering very difficult, can not update. Vons time slots, well if you stay up until after midnight, it may take days to place an order. Then to top it off, you get 50% of the order you place. Ralphs is wonderful. Site is easy to use. Order is perfect. You can update. If there are substitutes, they are perfectly matched. I can’t say enough wonderful things about our on line shopping from Ralphs.
Greatness. You guys have improved since 2020 let me just start off with that. I am very pleased to know that you do delivery straight through the mobile app instead of another Ralphs app which is fantastic. My guess is... it only gets better from here! So if you continue to be great you will be the #1 app and that means "wow" Great job for the IT department, great work! Thank you for making life easier and convenient for all! Sincerely, Matt G. Update March 28th 2024 The pop up notifications in the app regarding technical issues is amazing. We are so excited! Great job IT team this is amazing work! It's the best or nothing! You guys ohhhh i'm so excited. 😆 Best, Matt G.
New Update is AWFUL. The new update has made adding items to the grocery list extremely complicated and difficult. Seems that they want to focus on pickup and delivery, but I used it mainly for the grocery list. Where you used to be able to quickly tap the little blue button to add items to your list, now you have to go through a whole messy procedure to bypass the “Cart”. They replaced the List button at the bottom with “Cart”, and now you have to tap through a bunch of buttons just to find your list. I hate everything about this, as it makes the app basically useless for anyone who wants to select their own groceries. Just awful. I’d give zero stars if I could. UPDATE 89.2.0 App still does not allow to save directly to the List. You have to tap the item, then tap the little List icon, then when you return to the “Your Favorites” screen it returns to the top of scroll so you have to scroll all the way back down. Also, the Cash Back section in savings keeps disappearing. The only way to bring it back is to update the app. This app didn’t used to be this bad. They really messed it up. Whoever the developers are need to be fired. UPDATE 91.2.0 App still terrible! Still can’t add items directly to a list, still insists on focusing on “Cart” which is for pickup and delivery. In-store shoppers are still massively inconvenienced. In the upper right corner there’s a way to set whether you’re doing delivery, pickup, or in store. Seems like it wouldn’t be hard to change the blue “Add to Cart” buttons to “Add to List” if the user has set “In Store” as the shopping mode. Really disappointing how bad this app got. Every update seems to get worse.
New Update Took Away Shopping List Shortcut. I used to be able to add my items to a shopping list that showed each aisle the items were in. They’ve removed the shortcut and made it officially the “cart” tab. This only lets you see items that are for “Pick-Up,” “Delivery,” or “Ship.” This would’ve been useful during COVID times, but come on. Everyone does their own shopping for the most part. Now there’s a tiny little option on the right hand corner to “Save to my list” and the only time I can access the shopping list is when I click that button. The “View List” option appears, but it’s annoying that it doesn’t have its own tab. Literally who cares about adding anything to the cart? It’s not helpful. The shopping list feature was the best part but now it’s hidden within the options. So freaken annoying. Please change it back.
Ralph’s. I’m no longer shopping at my local Ralph’s since a month or more ago. One of the older checkers always seems too busy chatting with other employees and seems to be annoyed to be interrupted by any customer. The LAST TIME I was there he gave me sale prices NOT MY COUPON ON MY IPHONE PRICES. When I questioned him, his sharp reply was that he gave me the sales price, kind of throwing my change and/or and receipt in my hand. He seems to quickly return to his conversation to his co-worker. For instance, the angel food cake was in sale for ? $1.99 or ? $2.99; but with my iPhone savings already scanned in, it was ONLY $.99. I did NOT get that great price then on that item plus other deals that day! On the Friday special free items, they are not FREE because I often spend 1/2 hour searching up and down isles, hunting high and low, spending more than $10 of MY TIME FINDING AN ITEM OF LESS THAN a dollar or two value. TIME IS MONEY. The clerk’s continued hurrying attitude, acting like my time does not value my net worth, has driven me away. I have not been back and do not expect to be soon, even tho it is the closest food store to me. One boss I had almost 35 years ago had a saying that I try to follow as good advice, “I vote with my feet”. I have done so, and I feel it is warranted! Sir Shane
What happened to my purchases. I have been using the app I first saw it when looking for grocery store apps. So far, it is the best of all the ones that I have tried. A feature that I really love is the purchase history. If I neglect to enter a receipt, before I lose it, I can look it up in the purchase history. Since I use Quicken to track my spending, it is a huge help to be able to look up the receipt when reconciling an account. This feature stopped working yesterday. I noticed that an update was available. The problem still exists. An error message appears saying that I should try later. Still not working after the upgrade. Is there a limit to the history? Mine goes back over a year and this the first time that I have had trouble with the app. Now not much actually works on the ap
Sitting on the couch doing my grocery shopping. I used to spend at least an hour every week pushing a cart up and down the aisles. Now I spend about 10 minutes a week using this app! Just the fact that it shows me the last 50 or so items I’ve purchased before saves me so much time, because most of them are things I buy again when the current supply runs out (I.e. milk, juice, coffee, yogurt, etc.) I order and pay using the app, then use it again to let them know I’m on the way, and one more time when I arrive at the reserved spots in front of the store. I never wait more than a few minutes and I can even give them additional paper coupons right there in the parking lot. Sometimes I miss pushing the cart, searching all those shelves for my items, standing online to checkout, and then getting home and realizing I forgot something on the grocery list…. JUST KIDDING! I don’t ever plan to shop that way again.
Ralph’s Manhattan Beach. I have been a customer of Ralph’s for over 30 years and cannot say enough sit the staff and management. The week of Thanksgiving, the store was jammed and Jose in produce went far beyond the call of duty to find two items in the back. Feeling guilty for asking for his help at a crazy time, he was gracious and went beyond the call of duty. And then there is Karen who is a phenomenal ambassador for the store. I go out of my way to wait in her line because she is a ray of sunshine, greeting my family bu our first names. We have Gelson’s Bristol Farms, Von’s, and Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s in our small town but my loyalty is to Ralph’s because of the employees and management. Thanks for listening.
Review of your website and phone app!. You guys got a lot of work to do!!! The website and the app are a pain… these are not user-friendly!!! There’s too many pop-ups and too much crap getting in the way!! There has to be an easier way to look at my previous orders and cross reference the items that I would like to get again without having to open each particular or individual past order!! Furthermore, when you search for things the search mode won’t find certain items that I know are there because I’ve been in the store a dozen times even on the same day I’ve placed a delivery order!!??? As an example, for hard boiled eggs you only list the organic when I know… there’s the Kroger brand there too!!!??? Wow is that an effort to force us to buy more expensive items maybe… perhaps??? You guys are living up to your nickname which is “Rip Off Ralph’s”!!! You guys can fix this!!! And why doesn’t Instacart deliver chips or pretzels what the Hecks going on with that???
Text size. If you have the text size adjusted for your app, when you clip a coupon a message pops up about enabling notifications. Unfortunately, the options disappear off the screen when text size is adjusted, meaning you have to force close the app in order to get back to any of the menu options. It took me awhile to figure out why this was happening. Once I set my text to “too tiny for older eyes to read”, I was able to either enable notifications or tell it to stop asking me, then readjust text size. Other than that, app works fine, except for in my Ralph’s where they seem to block any kind of signal making searching for items next to impossible
Ralphs, Foothill Blvd. Sadly after 25yrs plus, I am shopping elsewhere. Suffering through a year and a half of outdated merchandise (during the “remodel “) then constant price hikes I am done!! Celery stocked with rott on the bottom, condiments over a year old, peaches and fruit that when opened was either rotten or not ripe at all, vendors not willing to give you a loaf of “fresh” bread off of their cart 🙁, no real butcher in other words looks at you like you’re crazy, when asked if he can a piece of meat for you. I asked three times why there was NO date in the nest package and was told that the price gun was broken... pathetic. Nice store manager, great cashier Sandy, and box guy( talk af guy ALWAYS willing to help me!!! They are why I guess seas the reason I stayed and kept giving a Ralphs another chance, and convenience. I drive a little further now, but their produce is fresh... and I have not thrown away any meat at all! Blkomlos&gmail
Bad new app and service-What Happened?. The new app has a lot of useless links, junk info and inefficient tools that don’t work effectively (like the shopping list that doesn’t correctly move items to your shopping cart). Too many items now not available for delivery through the app any more. NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!! They took away the best parts of the old app: 1) flexibility with substitution (able to easily select the substitute) this was essential- last time I ordered on the new app I got tart shells as a replacement for raw sugar!!!! Really?? 2) ability to request special item and include photo (this was essential since not all items show up on the app) 3) ability to add/modify until the buyer started shopping Also I hope someone looks into the new buyers; if this is still an instacart service- I question the credibility and hiring of these new buyers, if these buyers are hired by Kroger (i.e. Kroger only buyers), you did not get it right. Ugggh! What a pain - I use the service because I can’t easily carry groceries up my stairs so I am very thankful for that; but I pay good money for that convenience- the app and the service needs to go back to the quality it was when I moved here a year ago. The problems started with this new app.
So helpful and convenient!. The Ralphs app is on point. I love viewing the weekly ads each week and the fact that they offer different forms to view it. It makes it easy to add to my list from the ad or by searching. Just about every item is available upon lookup. I also love that when you search for an item, any available coupons in relation to that item pop up for you to know. I ALSO love that the app keeps track of your purchases, the items and the total/ savings per purchase. So if you want an item you bought recently and you forgot what it was you can easily look it up. It’s also great that the app has a section for your weekly items so you don’t forget or can be notified of sales on them!! Thank you Ralphs for designing the app to be easy to navigate through for your customers!!
Terrible. The old app was so much better. This on makes it difficult to search and find items, you can’t talk to your shopper if your order for delivery, it also makes the substitution options really difficult. There is no tracking while shopping like in the previous Instacart app. I also noticed that sometimes they advertise coupons for 2 for 1 or similar but then they aren’t applied when your checking out.... I honestly don’t even know how this app got through testing because it’s buggy and way more difficult to use than the old app. I also feel like all my carts are significantly more expensive than when I used to order on instacart. This app took away the ease of being able to order groceries in then palm of my hand. Ralph’s is going to loose a ton of delivery business if the app doesn’t improv. I’m planning on switching to another app for any future grocery ordering.
Lots of glitches. This app requires a lot of refreshing through out your use. I was making an order for delivery and it erased my cart items 3 times, each time I would make another list. Then all of a sudden my list appeared with 3 of everything. Putting my address for delivery was an issue too because I added my billing address and then once I hit submit it didn’t acknowledge that I had just updated my address and would ask me to update my address even though all the correct fields were updated. I had to refresh the app after imputing my billing address and then hit “next” and proceed to checkout. At the end of the day I was able to put my order in for delivery but it was confusing to place the order because of the app glitches.
Somewhat Satisfied at the moment. I'm super bummed I can't use my physical coupons I receive directly from Ralphs when making a delivery order. Or, I don't see an option for it. I'm Also bummed that Ralph's app tricked me into thinking I can add items to my order. I went to check order status, It asked me, "Forgetting something? Add items". I added items, but the App created a new delivery order with a new delivery fee of $9.99, and assigned a new shopper. My Instacart shopper said next time she is able to add items, so next time I will be letting the shopper know what items I want to add to my order via text message, instead of using the "Forgetting Something? Add Items" selection. Thanks for listening
Had no idea it would be this simple.. I love this! I may not go back to the other way even after quarantine ends. This is super easy! The substitutions are simple and automated so I’m not worried about not knowing what I get. And it asks for approval before so if I don’t want a substitution I just decline it. It was fast when I picked it up. And oh my god the produce was perfect and not one egg was cracked. That’s what you worry about, ya know? you worry they’ll pick bruised stuff and not care as much as you would. But every piece of produce looked like I bought it for a still life art piece. I loved the service and will use it again.
Easy to use!. Love the easy to use features It’s way better than the Vons app Ralph’s let’s you modify your order afterwards and Vins doesn’t and what’s really great is when I pick up I can give my paper coupons that I get in the mail and they can apply them manually. Speaking of which, that’s my only complaint, it would be nice to be able to apply my paper coupons myself beforehand. I also LOVE the feature that allows the store to text me to alert me to out of stock items on my list and they give me the choice to either accept the alternative or deny it altogether and just go without. That’s like the BEST because VONS doesn’t do that. They actually ignore my No Substitution preference (every time) and give me another product that’s twice as expensive or completely different altogether and don’t bother notifying me. Then I have to call and complain, get a credit back to my card which takes forever and it’s a total hassle. So now I do all my ordering from Ralph’s They have it together there
Digital Coupons not presented very well. Quick view descriptions of digital coupons are tunicated and the pictures are too small. Showing a small picture of an item with the with the only part of the description that can be seen as “Simple Truth Organic” is not helpful. In order to know what the item is the shopper has no choice but to click on the item to open the full picture and description. The shopper winds up looking at items in which there is no interest in purchasing. It is slow and is a frustrating experience.
Horrible “update”. The previous Ralph’s branded Instacart application was so much better than this “improvement.” The prior app function was very transparent. You could contact your shopper and make adjustments on the fly, you could update your order right up to the point they started shopping, and many other very usual flexibility features. Now you don’t know when they start shopping, you can’t update your order once submitted, you don’t know if they made any changes, you don’t know what’s coming or when, they just show up at your door. I have stopped using Ralphs online because of the update. Truly terrible changes.
The update stinks and customer service is terrible. I tried chatting with someone to ask why the app is constantly making me log on every time I open it. It didn’t use to be that way, and every other app on my phone remembers me. I didn’t even get a single response on chat. The agent disconnected and left the chat immediately. What?? Terrible app, terrible customer service. I then went to the “email us” section and tried to submit the above text and received the error message “send failure: body not allowed”. Guess they don’t tolerate you sending a message saying you’re dissatisfied? It’s not like I’m cussing anyone out. Really horrible customer service. Since their carts are also the worst (they’re all broken and dilapidated all the time!) I think maybe it’s time to just stop shopping there altogether. There are so many better places to shop.
The app takes over. I’ve been going to Ralph’s for over 20 years, but I don’t think I’ve ever been as frustrated shopping there as when I tried using the app in the store since the new “shop in store” feature was added. I was in the middle of shopping at the store. I wanted to find a product in the app like I had many times in the past. Suddenly, the app detected I was in Ralph’s and the “shop in store” feature took over the entire app. What I wanted was right there on the main screen of the app when I first opened it, but I couldn’t get to it. I did not want to try to figure out this feature of the app right then and there. I had never seen it before and I just wanted to get to what I knew since I was trying to do this in the middle of the aisle and didn’t have time to learn a new feature at that moment. I could not get the “shop in store” to close. I finally found a buried link that said “exit shop in store” but it didn’t do anything except break the app. After tapping exit, it just froze. It didn’t exit and it didn’t respond to any other touch. I forced the app closed and tried starting over. Same results every time. I gave up. It was disappointing because I had previously enjoyed the app and found it useful. Please don’t present a new feature and then not allow me to opt out of it. I should have been able to swipe down on it to dismiss it after it popped up over what I had been looking at on the main screen. When I got home I disabled the app’s location services to try to prevent this next time. But I’d rather you just fix the app.
Using this app since it started last year of 2020. So far it’s been great! The app itself is good, it allows substitution, the cons is that not all items available through the app. As for the Kroger/Ralph’s support team, they are very responsive when instacart drivers dropped off at the wrong address or if the items did not meet expectations. As for Instacart, not all deliveries are equal, some will go way beyond my expectations and others.. well let’s say I got a bag of 10 cherries, a rotten cantaloupe and my kids were sad because of the delivery was missing Kinder Joy treats (that I was charged for!)... That was probably only 3% of the deliveries so far. Ratings are important so if they didn’t meet expectations please make sure you are honest about it, I notice the quality of deliveries tend to change as they weed out the bad apples and adjust their service to meet the needs of their customers. Thank you for keeping us safe at these times!
APP issues and Circumventing. Since my phone requires an iOS of 15.2 or higher, I should not have to be forced out of getting access to my Ralph’s coupons and other offers. I have been shopping at Ralph’s for over three decades and with all this electronic mumbo-jumbo, I am having to circumvent. Case in point- my purchase of cherries this morning. Thanks to the wonderful checker, he adjusted the price because I was ready to show him whatever I needed on my phone with the special price and he was very kind to adjust it in a jiffy! Customer Service great, app access cumbersome and sometimes unnecessary. Thank you. Happy 4th! God Bless America.
Deserves Zero Stars. I rely on this app to update my shopping list throughout the week. It WAS so nice being able to run out of bread, instantly add it to my shopping list, and have it sit there until I removed or purchased it. The other nice thing about the app was the ability to see what aisle each item I needed was in, making it quick and efficient for me to do my in-store shopping with my 3 young children. If not shopping in store, I could easily schedule a drive-up for my groceries. But NOW- there is no better way than to say this app is absolutely WORTHLESS! It doesn’t save my list, constantly evaporating into nothing every time I open the app. So I can never remember at the drop of a hat everything that I had previously entered onto my shopping list and I end up forgetting items which results in extra (aggravated) visits to the store or incomplete meals at home. And items that the app says are in store are nowhere to be found. I’m done. I’m about to abandon Ralph’s altogether because the app pisses me off so much! FIX THE APP- IT WORKED JUST FINE BEFORE! NO MORE STORE MODE- IT’S USELESS!! PLEASE, PLEASE FIX IT!!!!
So, u don’t care about people w older phones!. Basically pretty good, but some problems. I don’t know why they ask to set my store, because a lot of the availability or locations (aisles) of the items are incorrect for my store. Also, on the page where we can select to pick up or get it delivered, the pickup line is so short that I can barely read it. I really like that we can see our receipts, but when I tap the button in the top right corner, the app crashes. I’m guessing that that icon is for printing or downloading. That would be useful if it didn’t crash every time. I tried to download the receipt from Safari, but there was no way to download it. So I selected the text of the receipt and copied it to a pages doc, which worked, but what a pain. We should be able to download it as a pdf or even a text document. You were the only store to stop mailing out flyers for about a week until you realized how many people use them. You wanted us to use your app. And now the app doesn’t work on an iPhone 6. I’m not gonna buy a new iPhone just to use your app. If you want us to use digital resources, give them to us.
Ralphs App Is Not Intuitive / Digital Coupons Are a Headache. I really wanted to like the Ralphs app, but it’s frustrating to use on a regular basis. The interface feels overly complicated and not intuitive at all. I frequently have to ask store staff for help just to navigate basic features, which defeats the purpose of a convenient shopping app. The digital coupons section is especially cumbersome. It seems like they’re heavily pushing digital offers, but actually using them requires adding items to your cart and then clicking through three or four different buttons and pages just to get your coupons ready for checkout. It’s not a smooth or simple process. I’m not sure if this is a technical “snap”/glitch issue or if the app is intentionally designed to push people toward ordering through it, but either way it doesn’t feel user-friendly. I’ve used other grocery apps that are much cleaner, simpler, and more straightforward. From my perspective, the Ralphs app is trying to create a “different” experience, but it ends up being more frustrating than helpful. It would be much better if they simplified the navigation, made coupons easier to access and apply, and focused on making the whole thing more beginner-friendly. Suggestion to the developers: Consider starting over with a cleaner, more intuitive design that actually saves customers time instead of adding extra steps. Simplicity would go a long way here.
Cannot log in at all so just stick to using the browser. The app will not log in whatsoever, you enter your credentials and hit “sign in” then absolutely nothing happens aside from the “sign in” button fading in color after it is pressed. It doesn’t even give you the audacity of giving some sort of error message. However logging in straight through the site on the phone browser works fine. The app itself does open a browser to log you in but again, it does nothing but sit there for all eternity until you force close it. After downloading it, then 5 minutes and about 20 attempts later, this is getting deleted. Just stick to the actual website and not this poor, probably untested by any type of QA, effort of an app. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Coupons removed from item page. I just updated and the cool feature you just added that when I clicked on any item, it showed me all available coupons (instead of me wasting time searching for any) is gone!! I was so happy you finally added that. And in one month you remove it and screw it up and a bunch more crappy info instead? We want coupons, not just a manufacturers description of the product. I do not want to waste time flipping back and forth in the app. Please add the eligible coupons back to the items page when you are adding them to the cart, not just what items are eligible when you are looking at the coupons! We don’t all shop by looking at coupons. It’s like you don’t want us to save any money, and that bothers me.
App and website are screwed. This has been an exercise in frustration. Built A pickup Order. Tried to input my credit card eight times trying to different cards on the app it wouldn’t except it. Called customer service first time got wound up with virtual agent for 15 minutes and couldn’t get to a real person. Second time I calledI eventually got to a live agent but I was disconnected after about 10 minutes. Third time I called I got an agent who had me go back to the website on my laptop to put the credit card number in which was successful but when she directed me to go back to the pick up order her directions had me go back and it cancelled The entire order. Went back to app and started to rebuild entire order. I Had accessed $20 pickup discount but the bill Was not reduced by $20 When i went to pay. The virtual assistant is Impossible to WorkWith. This took me almost 2 hours of frustration. Not a happy camper.
Right Idea. I like the concept of this app & use it regularly for digital coupons. I wish it was a little easier to navigate when it comes to using it for shopping. Also, the prices on the app don’t always reflect the prices in the weekly ad I receive & I never know what price I’ll be charged if I’m ordering online. $3 for 12 cans of Diet Coke if you buy 4 is great, but when the cans are listed as $6.24 each online, putting four in my cart is a risk I’m not willing to take. Lastly, I’ve attempted to use the click list function multiple times when the app wasn’t working. I fill up my cart (a somewhat time consuming process), go to check out & something happens & my cart is empty. I’ve wasted hours online to end up having to go to the store because the click list just won’t work.
Frustrating. It’s more affordable to shop at Ralph’s through their app than the InstaCart app so I put up with it- but it’s annoying. If you click a department (such as bakery) and search for items, it will only display items that are in that department. If you want to search for something else, you have to leave that department, select another department, and search for the next item. You can also search all departments from the cart, but then it displays items that are only available via shipping. Once I was checking out, I was informed that multiple items weren’t available. It would be helpful if the out of stock items were noted before I was ready to complete the order. The app works, but it’s more time consuming than it needs to be. Why can’t I just add my Ralph’s Club number to Instacart and get fair pricing? The order is fulfilled by Instacart anyway.
Pretty Bad. Ralph recently updated their app and the new one is horrific. When ordering my groceries for delivery I am not able to communicate with the Insta cart shopper like I was able to before. I am also not able to modify my order once it’s placed, even if the shopper hasn’t begun shopping yet. With the old app you were able to upload pictures of the groceries you needed in case they did not appear using the apps basic search, with this new app you are unable to do that. On top of all of that, the over the phone customer service is pretty useless in helping you with any modifications or concerns you may have using the app. I don’t understand how this is supposed to be an updated version when it’s really a downgrade. When spending nearly $1,000 a month on groceries and delivery fees one would think they’d have a decent shopping experience.
New versions make things difficult. As of 11JAN26 the recently revised app still makes ordering far more difficult than it used to be. Just to search for something requires multiple clicks, just as does finding coupons and specials. You used to be able to do these simple things right on the main page. Now you have to navigate to new pages and buttons. Just waaaaay too much complexity for what used to be simple and straightforward. Additionally, now when looking at your cart as you’re shopping the total requires a slow scroll to the bottom to see it. My lord, why in the world was that done? For multiple generations of the app the total of the order always showed immediately when looking at the cart. For the life of me, I cannot understand why this app has become so complex and cumbersome. Just sad. Previous review: I’ve reported this problem several times via their feedback and it’s still not fixed. Just tried to place my weekly order and several times several items that I had selected were dropped from the cart. VERY unreliable. I don’t have this issue using the web browser version but it routinely happens with the iPad app. Just wonder why in the world they won’t or can’t fix it. App has nice format etc. but not reliable. You just may not get what you ordered and wonder why. 😫 Previous Review: Once again broken. During checkout could not get the dropdown for the afternoon pickup times. Once again, had to redo the order on my computer. Does make me wonder if anyone actually tests the app before they release updates! 😩
Overly complicated now. I utterly hate the “new“ app! I do not use your app to shop online, but I use it constantly for digital coupons to use in the store. You have disorganized the app in such an arcane way that it is overly complicated to do what used to be just a simple step or two. You had everything front and center before but now it’s a scavenger hunt to find coupons and the online ad. Why the additional steps? Additionally, you have also made it impossible to swap between the coupons and the online ad, which was a simple, elegant hop to access each before. Oh, and it remembered your location in the ad while hopping over to coupons—it’s now an absolutely unnecessary two steps each direction and top of the ad every time! Again, why?? It proves that the designer was NOT a USER of the app.
My Ralph’s experience. I have ordered delivery from my local Ralph’s, and I feel bad that I have never left a review, I’m big on reviews because there is so much competition out there I believe good or bad experiences people have a right to know! All of that being said, I have never had a bad experience at my local Ralphs, it’s at the corner of victory, Boulevard and Buena Vista Street in Burbank, about a half a mile from my house, and I have been shopping at “my” Ralph’s store for about 25 years, I am kind of an expert, not to say that I don’t sometimes shop at other stores locally, but this is my go to, majority store, everybody is always very kind to me, I am always greeted with smiles and quite often I hear “how are you, Mrs Johnson“? I feel very welcome! I know the store, like the back of my hand, and occasionally I’ve had to return some thing, and there is never a problem, sometimes I haven’t even had the receipt, and they are very kind, and very apologetic when they don’t need to be, it’s kind of like family there! They are my fave!!
Infuriating. Placed three online orders and went to multiple stores that showed baby formula in stock. Every. Single. One. Was out of stock. I was told, ‘We don’t update the stock online.’ Not helpful, and really critical when buying things like… food. Would give 0 stars if possible for having to wait for them to confirm then tell me it’s out of stock. Went to Target instead. I was then contacted by Kroger saying, “Please know our app/website is not an active inventory. It will show you what the store carries, not what’s in stock.” Then WHY do you show ‘in stock,’ ‘out of stock,’ and ‘low stock’ in the app? That’s absolutely unhelpful. How is the customer supposed to know your stock levels in the app shouldn’t be considered or used? Why have them in the app at all if they are not accurate? It places the burden on the user, and ends up wasting the user’s time.
100% Complete failure. Do not even bother with this app or store. Multiple times my husband and I have tried to order groceries to be delivered when we were too sick to go out. Multiple times it has failed. Every single time. A ONE HUNDRED PERCENT failure rate. We will get an email message saying order is confirmed. Then we get text telling us a person is at the store getting our items for us, and then.......nothing. No more text. No emails. No groceries. No communication. Just nothing. I have to dig into the app multiple layers deep to find out after all that the order has been canceled. WHAT? Why? It never says. I am OVER trying to buy groceries this way. I guess Kroger does not want my money. Fine. You shall not have it then and I will shop elsewhere. And I suggest everyone else look elsewhere too. They are just too unreliable and don’t communicate properly.

Too Good To Be True!!. Easy Peasy! 2 simple steps! I love this process. The staff delivers the groceries directly into my car. I simple drop items into my cart online the night before and pick it up the next day anytime that I have scheduled with Ralphs. The staff has been very happy and responsible with choosing the items. Clicklist is so much better than “Instacart” - which continually made wrong choices from my list. I think the Ralphs staff just has such a better grasp of the aisles and the products & so Clicklist works so much better!!
Ralph Pick Up. I have been using Ralph pick up for over a year. It has always been a great experience, with the quality produce being picked and the other items mainly being in stock. Alternative Choices are available, which is nice. The workers have always been friendly and timely. Thanks for this feature and the employees.
User interface is horrible. Once upon a time you could view coupons and there was a simple button to add the coupon to your list. Now there’s only a button to ad an item to a shopping list. Well guess what, I don’t need another shopping list I need a way to add a coupon to my list so when I check out the cashier has it. As it is they have to adjust it because there’s no button to add the coupon to my account. Why do I need to add it anyway? The price should be corrected to the coupon price when I put my phone number in the machine. Why this extra step is even needed is beyond me. All coupon pricing should be automatically available to those with an account.
Forced Update for iOS 12.x Not Working -Loss of Customers. Ralphs believes the tail can wag the dog. Customers with iPhones incapable of updating to iOS 13+ are forced out of using the app to shop and obtain coupons & savings. Including backwards app compatibility to iOS 12 is simple, but app developers arrogantly refuse to include this. Well, this dog is no longer a Ralphs shopper as my Vons, Whole Foods and other grocer apps work just fine on iOS 12.x and they gladly welcome former Ralphs customers to shop at their stores. Stupid & clueless app programmers decided they can force shoppers to buy new iPhones to remain customers and Ralphs management is ok with that, but guess what? Hasta la vista, Ralphs!
Great app and easy to order but…. The app was updated recently and does not work correctly. I’ve contacted Kroger numerous times with no interest at their end. Be careful when you add an item, usually the item before you ordered that item comes up together so you ordered an apple, then orange it’ll come up as apple orange? If they would fix this defect I love shopping at Ralph’s and using their app! Also the entire app freezes so you have to close the app completely and then re-open it to get it unfrozen.
No recourse for wrong delivery. If you order delivery through this app, the delivery is done by Instacart. If you have a problem, Ralph’s says Instacart is responsible, but when you contact Instacart, they have no record of your order because you ordered through the Ralph’s app. Most of the time you get what you order, but when your shopper goes to the wrong store , doesn’t buy a third of what you ordered and buys six things you didn’t order and they are on your receipt but not in your bags, good luck finding help.
Like this so much. I buy for three households—for us, in laws and my parents. It has been quite stressful during Corona to do this. I often have to do several trips because I just don’t have the basket space for three houses. Now, Elderly family place their orders throughout the week independently and I just go pick up for them. It’s a dream. Such a relief during these Covid times.
First time ordering. Well I have moved to Victorville and no Ralph’s are within distance for anything but 1-3 days shipping. Sending the order to a friends which is very convenient since I spend lots of time there and not home. My issue is a few things I know is in the store were coming up unavailable and today is the last day. Also the coupons I have did not show up in my total, I like to see the dollars come off, now I’m left wondering will I get the Saturday coupon deal. There needs to be an option to add the coupons
Like asking your neighbor to go to the store for you. The app itself is fine, but I was hoping that my order would be coordinated with the stockroom and incoming deliveries, and that the items in my order would be set aside and then delivered to me. Instead, Ralphs pays someone to go shopping for you, and with everyone panic buying, the shelves are mostly empty. I can go to the store and walk around and not by things myself; I don’t need someone else to try and fail to buy things for me. That said, I’m sure this app is great when everyone isn’t panic shopping.
One star minimum. I only gave one star because that’s the minimum allowed. As an extremely frequent visitor of Ralph’s, I looked to this app to provide current information in goods and sales, with an easy-to-use platform for assistance in acquiring those deals. Fortunately I was able to use coupons when even the store staff wasn’t sure how, but more importantly- inventory was not up to date. When choosing where to go to acquire goods, most related apps provide relatively current information. This app does not- at all. It’s more like what they carry versus what they have in stock. This app is virtually useless except for the seemingly unnecessary requirement to download certain coupons when shopping in the store.
Love Ralph’s !!. I love shopping at RalphS and the Ralph’s app is so nicely put together and has so much detail. Makes it very easy for customers and makes me a happy shopper knowing I can find everything easily. Only thing I would change is when I make my grocery list I wish to see the total of it ! I know that had this once before and now it isn’t there. Hopefully comes back with some new updates !!
Please have shopper let me know if I want substitute. Please do not put items in my cart and make me delete. Don’t assume because I ordered before, I want again. I liked your user friendly previous app. I swear, if I missed eliminating any item u decided to put in my cart, I will make the delivery person return and it will be the last time I order from you. Shame on you making it hard for the buyer. I’ve used many times and liked you had previous items that I could choose to select or not. Don’t like that u put in my cart without me choosing.
Game changer for busy family. Easier and cheaper than prime fresh. We can swing by on the way home from work and don’t even need to get out of the car— which means I don’t have to drag my 3 kids into the store where they want to touch everything and beg for candy. So much more convenient and less stressful. I hope this option never goes away.
Love the app... but... I am so excited about this app, I really do love it, however, it saves items in the wrong category. I press the save to list button and it adds cabbage on the beverage list. I can’t change the list and save to the veggie list. There’s no option to add certain things to matching lists unless that list was already chosen and you happen to be shopping and saving in that same category. Very frustrating because I want to stay organized so I can shop better.
Favorite app on my phone!. Hard to describe this kind of greatness! Best way to shop! The list is organized by aisle, so you never have to go back to an aisle you’ve already been on. The Weekly ads are easy to view and you can add items right to your list from them. (Note to app developers: Wish you could add them to your cart.) A+++ overall!!
It’s pretty good, except..... I think it’s great that the app links up to my Ralph’s online account. Very handy for recalling items that I have purchased in the past. Great selection of items and great pictures that help solidify my memory. The hang up? I went through and created my “list”, but found no way of putting them into the cart for curbside pickup. Very frustrating!!! Had to start over again. This would be a handy and very convenient fix please. Regards, A.B.
I hate the new July 2019 app - what happened?. I used to love shopping with the Ralph’s app. But now, the new app does not allow you to approve/disapprove substitute items AND I cannot communicate with the shopper anymore. If items do not perfectly match the price at the store, Instacart is forced to credit ALL the items. I had many items not delivered even though I requested the substitute option! What a waist of my time! Even more frustrating: I found later that the store had all the items on my list. I will be trying other stores and their delivery options.
Ordering is Difficult. I have used this app many times. Each time it can take a couple of hours to place an order. It’s easy to make mistakes and it’s difficult and confusing to correct them. There’s no training app. I will keep using the app because I want to order for pickup or delivery. I have resigned myself to take the time, knowing it’d probably take longer to go to the market.
Better than Instacart, no extra fees!. Instacart charges an additional 15% per item. I have proof: paper receipt for $67 from Ralphs, but Instacart charged me $80 for the same cart on my account. I showed Instacart the receipt and they stood by it. They blamed Ralphs, saying Ralphs makes them charge me more per item. But I found out Instacart charges Ralphs for its services; too shady. I buy direct from Ralphs now. Pick up curbside. No delivery fee. If there wasn’t a choice, sure I’d stay with Instacart. But why pay more if you don’t have to.
Not working. I called Kroger 3 times spending almost 3 hours because my boost is not showing boost plus membership as it has for as long as it has been offered and I couldn’t choose same day delivery and still can’t choose 2 hour delivery. The Kroger people and tech people they were connecting with would just say “we see you have boost plus and should be able to choose delivery windows” situation has been frustrating to say the least and kept me from having milk for my kid. Working mom’s cannot have inefficiencies like this. I love Ralph’s so what a shame Kroger has messed things up so badly. Sad.
Opinion of new website. I liked the old website much better. It is also difficult to find how to give tip and praise(hopefully) of the delivery person. I have been getting my groceries from you for almost 2 years and when the new site opened, all my information was lost and had to start over. After delivery there was no email for rating or tip or comment on the delivery person. All in all don’t like the new site at all. Please bring back old one or incorporate some of the good features from it. Katherine Bruce
Customer Service. I am so angry with Ralph’s. 1) I want to join Boost but cannot get a clear answer regarding who will deliver-Kroger or 3rd party. Per your website it says we can use a dropdown to choose. Talking to customer service for my area Ralph’s will choose depending on availability. Kroger delivery says no tips please. 3rd party wants and expects tips. I will join if Kroger delivers. Why bother saving coupons when you’ll lose it all on tips? 2) My Alt ID declines at participating Shell stations. Ralph’s has confirmed several times my Alt ID is correct in your system. Today your customer service said I need to call Shell and gave me their number. Shell says it’s a Ralph’s problem. Why shop Ralph’s or join a 2x fuel program that doesn’t work? Von’s fuel program always works at Chevron. I prefer shopping at Ralph’s over Von’s. Your digital coupons and savings are better. My local store team is fantastic and they have earned my loyalty with their pick up service. I wish Ralph’s corporate customer service did as well.
Total fail. The app gave me an unknown error message when I try to check out. It was right after it asked me to enable touch ID. The app dumped all the items out of my cart. I called customer service who advised me to delete and then reinstalled the app. Upon doing so I got half of my items back in my cart. I had to go through figure out which ones weren’t there and add back. When I checked out this time I did not enable the Touch ID. The order went through fine then. Customer service was very friendly and apologetic.
Shopping off the weekly ad stinks. The functionality of being able to build a shopping list or cart from the weekly ad has diminished over time. Click on an item and often you are taken to a list of all items on the page and all possible varieties of the items on the page. You wanted Lay’s potato chips? Let me show you the 500 possible selections that were on the page, of which 20 will be Lay’s potato chips. I will display these in random order. The only thing I can come up with is marketing and merchandising, not customer experience, runs app development
Good but could be better. The current area of concern is the filter. When I put in a serarch for a certain category or specific name brand only certain sizes come up but when I do a general search I have to keep scrolling to find what I need. I believe organizing the filters of the products within the brand name section and identify the oz or grams of that product will help in finding things easier. Other than that I have no issues with the app.
NEW APP AWFUL!. This new application must have stolen the five star ratings from the old app because it stinks! This has to do with the delivery service only by the way...the old app allowed me to have communication with my personal shopper as they were shopping. If they had questions or were out of something we could take care of it immediately. There were times we snapped pictures to clarify, or I could choose which pack of meat or which level of ripeness my fruit had which to me was worth everything (I am disabled NOT a diva)! Now I don’t know what I’m gonna get or not get until it surprisingly shows up at whatever time it shows up. I’m going to stop shopping here because if it which is sad for Ralphs and go back to the Vons way.
New app is worthless - nothing but problems. Store product availability is completely inaccurate. App will say some items are available to order for pickup or delivery (that I have never, ever seen in my local Ralphs) meanwhile, actual staple items that all Ralphs carry are not showing up. I can’t even order a simple wedge of ANY kind of blue cheese. To top it off, my order yesterday got cancelled while in progress due to a supposed technical issue. The app still shows the dang thing as in progress which is delaying my refund. And a $20 credit that was issued to me for the snafu still does not show up for me to redeem though the rep on the phone says they can see it. So, like I said, worthless.
Changes make it worse. I just got an updated version of this app and it’s way more frustrating to use now. The way it made lists before was working great and now it’s been made more complicated which is totally needless. It won’t let me expand everything, there’s adds blocking certain functions, checking a box off instead opens the item hand the time. And if I check a coupon to use, that should reflect in my total so I can more accurately anticipate what I’m Spending. Not great design overall.
Ingredients and Nutrition. App is easy to navigate through for pick up orders. Best parts are the drop down tabs for ingredients and nutrition information. It eliminates the need to click and zoom in on the product images. I also like how there is room for notes and that one can choose no substitutions, a specific substitution or allow the store to choose the substitution. If a product has “low stock” it is also indicated.
Don’t order groceries through app. Day of delivery changed 3 times while ordering. Continually failed to accept my address. On delivery day, several regularly available items were unable to be found. Got text saying problem with payment going through. Everything worked on my end. Asked to speak to manager and she denied. Left dealing with delivery man. Told a need to call insta cart to get refund, but not given number. Go to app and my order has disappeared, but still have confirmation email. Called Kroger, they couldn’t find my order. Finally will recieved refund in 7 -10 business days and get no groceries I’ve been waiting for. My leg is in a cast and I can’t walk there or drive. Waited days for nothing.
Poor scheduling. I have placed several orders to be delivered. The time chosen was supplied by Ralphs. Each time you were given 5 days advance time. Each time you kept texting me saying you have it under control. I am 77 years old and was counting on you o support your claims and each time at the very last minute you cancelled. If you can not deliver at certain times just say so. If you schedule a delivery on Easter for 6 pm and the store closes at 6 pm, put the order up at 4. I have an oder scheduled to be delivered between 9-10 pm. A ridiculous time but thats the choice you gave me so make sure you get preparing it around 7:30. I suspect the store will be picked over by that time but I am trying to support my local Ralphs. You might offer seniors earlier delivery times.
Going downhill.. Been ordering online From Ralphs to pick up since Covid began. Was pretty good. Some improvements happened. Now the Ralphs app flips me to Kroger! I know Kroger owns Ralphs, but I hate Kroger. Their stores are creepy. So I uninstalled the Ralphs app because I can no longer even sign in to Ralphs without it flipping to a Kroger app. I reinstalled Ralphs and the app still flips to Kroger. I called the phone number listed here to talk to someone about this app situation. The recording keeps going in circles, repeating itself over and over, even when I push a number to get to a mentioned department. I can get nowhere and cannot talk to anyone. Just a recording loop. This week, because of this app situation, I am now shopping and picking up groceries from an Albertsons app, with the store down the road from Ralphs. I may just stay with them. They are making it awfully easy to stick with them.
My Go To App. This app has been a huge help during the pandemic and I am looking forward to using it for the long term. It’s super easy to use. My favorite part is being able to save a shopping list and having my prior items available to easily reorder. It’s so easy to add or remove. Items are categorized into sections like bakery and deli and there’s a general search. Pictures of everything and prices are easy to see. Love it!
Trying to place an order.. I have found it very difficult to try to place an order. But Tevin stayed with me through the whole thing and was a big help. He’s a very patient employee couldn’t have done it without him. He’s a keeper I’m not sure about that SMS and what it does if you want to notify me about it that’s fine. It came after I hung up from Tevin.
APP HAS POTENTIAL BUT FAR FROM READY!. I like having a One-Stop-App to shop for groceries, schedule my pickup/deliveries, easily browse through coupons, manage my rewards and fill my prescriptions all in one place. However, this App is far from ready and is filled with broken links, error codes, and non-responsive pages and loads up exceptionally slowly. Unfortunately, this App is a no-go for now, and it'll likely be more of an inconvenience for you than shopping in-store. RECOMMENDATION: Dump your developers and create a young, creative, and up-to-date team that can keep up with today's technologies. This is Kroger, and this is unacceptable. Get it together folks!
Not worth it—just use the website. This app crashes more than any other app I’ve owned. My cart won’t “refresh” and it won’t let me checkout. Then it loses all my cart items. I contacted customer service and they told me it shouldn’t take that long to select food because of the suggestions they have (I was complaining that after taking an hour filling my cart it erased). Every minute counts because you lose your time slot to pick up your groceries. I use it now to find products and read labels. I don’t count on it working to actually shop. I just use my phone browser instead and go to their website. It’s slower for sure, but at least it’s reliable.
Ben E. Super intuitive and user friendly. Stores previous orders, which makes shopping take a fraction of the time that it used to. The built-in digital coupons are easy to access, and it’s easy to find items on sale. This app completely changed the way I shop for groceries, and now I can’t imagine shopping without it!
Coupons don’t work.. The digital coupons don’t always work. They are in “My Coupons” and when you buy something it’s SUPPOSE to work but hardly does. It takes it off the app but NOT the receipt so half the time I’m like eff it, I don’t want to argue with them about it when the proof is gone. I also log on for my neighbor who is old and doesn’t have any tech, I have to double or triple check it ACTUALLY logged her out and logged me back in OR else I go to the store and use her card/coupons. I have had to pay twice the amount I would have if the app worked right on couple occasions. Wish you guys would leave app alone or don’t put anything out til ALL the flaws are perfect. Stop trying to make it stylish, plain and simple are always best.
The Old App was MUCH Better. I have to say, I hate this new app. I no longer can give feedback on my order after it’s done, change my tip (even though it says I can, so maybe that’s on me) and I can’t change my order after I submit it. The old app let me track what was being shopped for and when, and I was able to specify replacements in advance if something was out. I also could see a list of replaced items and request changes if I didn’t like them. And, I used to be able to update my order up until shopping began. Now, it says I can do that, but every time, I’m locked out within a minute or two of submitting. So, if I forget to add something, even if my delivery is hours away, I can’t. The old app was so much better.
Pics too small. I love being able to clip coupons but the pictures are so small and the descriptions are truncated, it makes it really difficult to know what the coupon is for without actually clicking on each one. Would greatly appreciate bigger product pictures and have the description continue on another line rather than truncating them so it’s easier to scroll and clip coupons. The shopping portion of the app has larger pictures and multi-line descriptions so you could mirror what you did there in regard to the pictures and descriptions.
Latest Update Broke Coupons. This is the first iOS app review I’ve written ... to give you a sense of how bad this update is. Overall this app has been very useful to me, but the latest update totally broke Coupon functionality. The coupons overlap when scrolling, so that the new “Clip” button is not visible when scrolling down through the list. The button only becomes visible when scrolling back up towards the top, but the Coupons still overlap and so the product information is not visible. Worse, the “Clip” button doesn’t actually activate the Coupon, but instead takes you to a sub-screen from which you must again click “Clip” to activate it. Doing so doesn’t return you to the main list, so now one must navigate back, often returning to the top of the list rather that the previous location. So both UI and UX are a disaster. It’s now functionally broken and click-intensive rather than cleaner and simplified the way it previously was.
I don’t like the new app. I loved the old app. The new app never works. I’ve had to call customer service bc it wasn’t working. And they said. Sorry. We are having issues. The old one never did that. Also your shoppers are inconsistent and send moldy fruit and expired meat. I am a full time working mom who doesn’t have time to grocery shop. If you just trained your shoppers better and fixed your app this would be my favorite service. I spend over $100 a week with you guys. Please get it together.
App keeps crashing and losing lists I make. I swear this app gets worse with every update. When I went grocery shopping yesterday my lists weren’t loading! So I logged out and lo and behold, I can’t log back in! Ralphs needs to stop switching back and forth with shopping lists and grocery carts being on the bottom menu because it’s getting annoying how they keep losing my list every time the app gets an update. Why can’t they just make a different app for grocery pickup/paying and keep this app for lists?? Why is that so difficult?? The next time I go grocery shopping I’ll probably have to take screenshots of the items on my list just in case this happens again JFC
Update Real Time Inventory. A real time inventory needs to reflect the actual inventory in the store, not just what it carries. If not to the hour then to the day. Too many times the app has shown items available for purchase and during times of uncertainty an inventory that reflects as close to real-time inventory would be most appreciated. It would also forgo the need to substitute so many items. A lot of customers prefer specific brands and when an item isn’t available and the app reflects that it also allows the customer to make decisions on their second favorite or to alter their decisions.
Please include some helpful sort options. This app is useless when trying to find and clip coupons. All the sorting options that are currently available are not helpful at all. The most important sorting option is by category; such as Dairy, Produce, Meat, Frozen Foods, Deli, etc. Can you please update the app to include these type of options to find coupons? This is a basic option that all the grocery store app include. Seems quite strange that the Ralph’s app doesn’t have them. Perhaps that is the strategy, so customers can’t find and use the coupons 😳.
Pass. The app is difficult to use. Every single time you open it it has a pop-up asking you how your shopping and then more pop-ups on the screen about other stuff it’s very crowded and has way too much going on compared to other apps. It’s also not easy to find your Ralphs card you have to go through the settings to find it it should be something you could click on from the main screen it’s the whole reason I downloaded the app. I put my Ralphs card in my Apple wallet and then when I deleted this app it deleted the Ralphs card along with it which is like the dumbest thing ever.
Easy To Use. I like the flexibility to add things after ordering and it that it is user friendly. I like the recipes and that ingredients needed are easy to purchase when you open the recipe. I wish there was an area where I can add my coupons that come in the mail. Also, I like to buy Cactus plant or “Nopal” in Spanish. I know the store carries it, but the app doesn’t give me in option to buy for delivery. It also doesn’t give an option to buy fried fish. The seafood department usually fries for you.
Ralphs & Apple want our phones to crash!. I have been really happy with the Ralphs app on my apple phone till it recently said I must update the Ralphs app to continue to use it. I went to update it and now the app says my phone doesn’t support the new update! and I have to update my phone first to update the Ralphs app! We all know if we keep updating our phones they will eventually crash from not being able to handle continues updates! Then we will have to buy new phones! So now I can no longer use the Ralphs app!! What a racquet apple and Ralphs have conspired to take advantage of us!! Bad Evil business!
App has gone downhill. I used to rely heavily on this app but ever since Ralph’s changed their app months ago, it’s been terrible. I get messages telling me that items have been substituted when they haven’t. I’m not getting the correct quantity of items (asked for 1 lb of broccoli and got 1 stalk at 0.4 lbs). A lot of items that used to be available for delivery are no longer available, like cherry tomatoes. I’m not sure if the app is just poorly designed but it used to have it right. Now it’s just terrible. No need to waste the $10 delivery fee. Might as well go to the store with a toddler at 7 months pregnant so you can get what you actually want/need.
Easy to use. I love that I can order my groceries while my kids are eating their breakfast and have them delivered while they are at school. I love that at the top of my page it has items like milk and eggs that I frequently buy and I can easily add the bulk of my list within a minute. The app is easy to use, and when I order delivery the drivers are really good about alerting me if they have to substitute and item. I can click on the text and approve or deny the substitution.
