Great DAW, bad upgrade option (no upgrade option). Great DAW however would never buy anything else from them given that they “rewrote” a whole new app (Cubasis 3) and won’t give people who recently purchased 2 an upgrade path. Most software companies do. I understand developers need to be paid and fully support it but be realistic. If someone purchased Cubasis 2 within the past 3 months, you should just understand.

Next logical step up from Garageband. Have been trying out a couple apps in recent weeks in an effort to expand my mobile recording skills beyond iOS Garageband and this is the app I’ve decided to start learning and using. I tried n-Tracks Studio 9 and liked their interface but that app sounded terrible when recording audio tracks. I’ve actually had this app on my iPad a good while but couldn’t seem to quit messing with Garageband, so after the disappointing results with n-Tracks, I decided to give Cubasis another try and it sounds great. Garageband has SO many bad-sounding and useless virtual instruments (I still think the Alchemy Synth sounds were MUCH better before Apple bought them) and Cubasis’ virtual offerings seem to be much more impressive from the ones I’ve tried so far. And it records audio tracks beautifully. 4 stars for now until I’ve had more time kicking the tires with it, but I’m looking forward to doing a lot of recording with this.

Audio editing stopped working. When I hilite a piece of audio and it opens up the editing bay the problem starts. The little triangles won’t move from the beginning and end so any changes I want to make apply to the whole piece. I can’t trim any specific parts, I can only fade in or out the whole audio clip. I can move the little triangles on the skinny bar above that that allows me to loom in on the audio but the other triangles won’t move anymore. All the other functionality works but I can only apply it to the whole part. So, unless I’m normalizing it’s pretty much useless. ..and I’m using Cubasis 2 instead of 3 that I bought for $50 bucks because 3 crashes all the time, usually within the first five minutes of any project, even simple ones with like 3 or 4 audio tracks and a few midi tracks that are all syncopated so not stressing the iPad…Meanwhile version 2 used to do fine with much bigger projects. I’m running a 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9 inch, the last one with the audio jack (btw special considerations for the iPads with the jack would make a lot of people happy) Please help with this audio problem, I’ve bought some in app purchases so it would be a shame to lose close to $100 just off you guys. If 3 crashes and I can’t edit audio in 2, it’s some alternative like BeatMaker 2or3 which work fine. And if you sort this out maybe you can help me to export projects to Cubase. I picked Cubase because compatibility. The iPad was my gateway to music production.

This is what I’ve been looking for!. I’ve been struggling with Auria for the last few years as it becomes buggier and buggier and destroys more and more of my work. Cubasis solved all of that. First up is the interface which is very intuitive. I use midi and synthesizers almost exclusively and it’s so easy to add an instrument from my very long list of ios instruments and it just works, every time. Auria often crashes when working with linked synths. The media explorer is so simple and makes moving sounds around and importing midi files simple. The midi editor is also simple and powerful, no easy task but Steinberg pulls it off. And then there’s stability. I don’t care how many features a DAW has, if it crashes it is less than useful to me. Cubasis has never crashed on me. And finally, one nice perk that I didn’t expect is that the ‘undo’ function persists through sessions. In Auria, once you close the sessions there is no going back. Being able to ‘undo’ across sessions is extremely useful. So if you’re a hobbiest or amateur musician, this is the DAW/sequencer I would recommend. You’ll be up and running and making music in no time without having to take a course in sound engineering before you record your first track. The one feature missing is a tempo track, just to warn you after this glowing review. It’s not perfect. Yet. Thank you to the developers for such an awesome product and for making music production fun again!

Believe me... It's NOT expensive!!!!. This is what you as an "Audio producer" or "musician" are looking as a portable "ProTools kind of app" for your iPad. Cubase make me switch just with it. It is so easy and stable that it will scare you. For broadcasters or radio station producers, this is the tool that will let you work anywhere and be productive everywhere!

I’ve been around since Cubasis/VST32. Yeah I’m old and I can’t see any ways to give this a 5. They constantly update they don’t over price {under priced really} it works unlike half the junk out there, they obviously work with other developers to help us make music. Steinberg thank you from Nashville Sharade

Dope iOS DAW. I really enjoy using this app to create ideas, music production. This is my main go to for those purposes. One of the few things that I dislike, it crashes too much! Need to have regular updates! Other than that everything else is on point. It can use an update that’s for sure!

The Most Stable Music App in the AppStore. I purchased Cubasis and Auria at the same time. Before Auria was known as Auria pro. I was making music on the iPad since the first beat maker app in 2007. I have to say that Cubasis is the most stable app there is of all the music apps in the App Store that I have and I have hundreds of dollars worth. I love the power combined with the simplicity that this app offers along with its flexibility to use IAA and AUs. But, all that means nothing without reliability. Which is what this app has when I save a project it is saved. When I put it in a zip file off load it to Dropbox or store it in an external drive erase it then reload it another day it is there!!!! So many other apps I have lost projects not Cubasis now even if I create in another app I export the stems to Cubasis for mixing and saving I don’t trust any other app for saving my projects. If Cubasis had a sampler section like Beatmaker 3, if they get more Waves plug ins and get rid of their channel strip plug in and eq plug in taking up 2 slots, better levels meter, and the ability to do punch in recordings that record over audio the moment you hit record (the last one is not a biggie if you re-record until you get it right but if you love doing punch ins it’s a biggie). You will no longer need anything else but Cubasis hands down I promise you that!!!!!

B@ND 0£ ON€. I love how Cubasis tracks audio and how you can set a loop hit record and it will keep on over dubbing as many times as you want. This is a feature that is sorely lacking in other IOS DAW’s, and makes for a smooth work flow if you record a lot of audio. Huge thanks for Cubasis for keeping their game strong on IOS allowing for professional quality even on a device where people tend to be skeptical at first. I hope that they can add track bussing sometime soon in the near future that would be amazing! Over all you won’t go wrong giving Cubasis a shot. And again everyone’s work flow is different, but the ease of use definitely shines through in Cubasis!

Ok...... wow.. Long time D.j. who now spends most of his “adultimg” working for the IT department at a major bank. It affords me more time to sit in front of a monitor and make music rather than spin it for others. Heavily into ableton and logic since I use a MacBook Pro, but this app is so good if it is anything like Cubase proper I want to switch to it right away. Are there any discounts you can offer for me to purchase the full suite standalone version for PC?

Cubasis is why I own an iPad. The “home base” app for iOS music recording. Very intuitive, runs very smoothly, can integrate with almost any other app, excellent customer support, continually updated and improved, and most importantly to me you can pass projects back and forth with Cubase on Windows 10 (please continue to improve this process as I know you will).

Former fruity loops user, Cubase wins. Went from using desktop fl studio for the last 10 years or so, straight into Cubasis 2 on an iPad, work flow is way better and makes more sense. I highly recommend this app for serious production, yes, can still do more/process more on pc, but Cubasis and audiobus and related apps have really come a long way, don’t need the pc for much these days. Works flawlessly with Arturia Audiofuse, very low latency for life effects while recording external instruments. Keep it up! And thanks for the resolution increase!

Missing Pitch Correction and Time Signature Automation tools. Also can’t join the regions.. I am using Cubasis for a long time. It’s an excellent app I found. Besides Cubasis, I also use Cubase where I frequently use Variaudio. Meanwhile I expected that this very very important tool would come in Cubasis. But still they haven’t incorporated the feature. Same is true for Time Signature automation. Sometimes it seems to me that Steinberg has developed Cubasis only for light use purpose and not for serious audio production. In that sense Cubasis is not a complete DAW. I suggest you to kindly add these features as soon as possible so that we may not loose interest using it.

COOLEST DAW EVER. This is my first impression, I’ll probably leave another review in a few months, but first impressions: Awesome! If you are used to using GarageBand but want MORE capability, this will be a great transition. It has nice factory instruments already included, great fx, automation controls. Even the effects that you have to pay for are cheap too like the waves plugins for example and waves plugins are great and WORTH IT. This app is great for midi composing and audio recording and mixing. I also want to note that for people who don’t learn daws fast, that this is very easy to use and it’s very practical. The only thing that some people might need and that it doesn’t have are Mixer buses but I think they will add that eventually. Other than that, great app! Reminds me of Logic Pro, reaper or pro tools for iOS. I don’t see why one couldn’t finish a whole song from start to finish in it really. Edit: It seems that you can only add 5 effects to a track, if we could get at least double that, that would be great too.

great update! Amazing new sounds and more!. Strongest DAW on iOS. EASILY.. The new sound drum kits sound amazing. The ability to duplicate your tracks is phenomenal. Saves so many problems trying to keep effects on duplicate layers, but the 'chords' pad doesn't copy. I spent some time adding chords for a sound, duplicated it to layer another sound on top, and it went back to the default pads. Obviously my fix could be to learn how to play but thats why those are there. LoL Youve really made this more of a go to for creating music within it for this update instead of just sending stuff to it. Thanks!

Still not formatted for the iPad Pro 12.9!. iPad Pro 12.9” has been around for two years now. But the developer still hasn’t created a version of Cubasis suitable for use on that device’s larger screen and higher resolution. As such, I only use Cubasis for brief periods of time before my eyes start to hurt from the blurry text and interface. This is supposed to be a pro-level DAW! (Guess what gentlemen, pros are using the 12.9” iPad Pro!)

Nice sounding but needs UX refinements. I like it but the layouts are bland and bulky so to better the workflow it needs these features implemented: 1.) A scalable Mixer view so more than 8 channels can be seen. 2.) A fullscreen mixer view with the addition of effects controls above each channel. Currently a very basic Mixer gets overlaid on top of the Project View and most don’t need to see waveforms when mixing. It would be nice if the main effects parameters came out of a drawer above the Mixer. 3.) The effects should clearly indicate which channel is being worked on. It’s too easy to think that you are tweaking the effects of an instrument while mistakingly doing it to another. 4.) There needs to be a channel lockdown. When scrolling through the Project View it’s too easy to mistakingly pick up and drag a track around - which you then have to undo. 5.) Narrower channels in the Project View. Only 6 can be seen at a time. Lastly, there are effects plugins that look better and pack more radio controls into a square inch than Cubasis. If they can do it I don’t see why Steinberg can’t.

Needs time signature & tempo change tracks. While this is one of the better IOS DAWs out there, I’m still absolutely baffled this nor the latest Cubasis 3 do not have either tempo change or time signature change tracks. All premium Windows & Mac DAWs have these options. Considering this app retails for $50, you would think it would be modeled to mimic those as far as professional grade features. I realize 4/4 dance music is probably what most musicians make with Cubasis. But as a fan & player or more progressive styles of music, Cubasis does not enable that type of creativity in iOS music production. I don’t understand how Auria Pro, NanoStudio 2 & MMS (Giel Bremmers) can have these capabilities, but not a top brand app made by a prominent company. Will NOT be upgrading to Cubasis 3 either, unless these changes are made.

Speeds up my songwriting process!. Now I can sit at my keyboard within 'touch' of my DAW (Cubasis) for rapid drafts of songwriting ideas on my iPAD. The sounds and loops are a nice start; if you don't like the instruments you can use AudioBus or IAA to bring in your favorites. The default Microsonic sounds are average, but there are some nice instruments in Micrologue. I really like the new ability to add some automation within my audio tracks. The delay and reverb is also excellent. I would give it SIX stars if there was an effortless bi-directional sync of projects with desktop Cubase. With Sonar now discontinued I'm looking for my next full-featured DAW.

Shame. After so many years owning this I can’t believe I don’t have access to iPhone version since all other apps like NanoStudio and others have universal versions. Pandemic has crushed all of us. So don’t tell me about poor developers who at least have jobs. Many of us lost ours. But using this app for years I have to re buy same app full price for iPhone version. Not cool. I normally don’t put negative reviews but this is a huge company who did the wrong thing and messed up. Many people who use Cubasis and were ever going to get Cubase now didn’t be of having to rebuy entire app no discount for iPhone version. Maybe you will grandfather us long time Cubasis users for YEARS so we can have iPhone version. Then I can remove this.

Incredibly buggy! Please refund!. $50?! I’d expect pretty well coded software for $50! But it’s one problem after another with Cubasis 2. First it won’t record audio. Garage Band and even Cubasis LE 2 (the demo) see my interfaces and record from them and my mic. I tried buying Audiobus to route through there, but it wouldn’t see it. Eventually I uninstalled and reinstalled Cubasis. After that it would see Audiobus, but now it only records through that which is a huge hassle. Then, after reinstalling it won’t see or record my midi devices half the time! And to further make things worse, the app icon in the dock doesn’t work. It just sits there dead. I try to remove it but it won’t let me. I have to go to the home screen to load Cubasis now. Minor but annoying and a testament to how buggy the software is in general. Did I mention it froze and crashed on me while recording once too? I tried through the App Store but it says I have to ask The author: Please refund my purchase!

Needs tempo and time signature change. I used cubase on my Atari computer back in the nineties professionally. I use cubase on my windows computer now. In order for me to be able to use Cubasis on the iPad professionally, I’ve got to be able to CHANGE TEMPOS AND TIME SIGNATURES !!! Cheaper Apps like “Notion” can change time signature and tempo. What is taking Steinberg so long to accomplish this? You guys have got me looking for a new app. The changing of tempo and time signatures are basic features that you cannot get around, you have to provide them. The longer you wait......the more pros will go elsewhere. TIMES UP!

Great iOS Integration. I love how this app allows you to view/edit files in the Files app (On My iPad). This really completes this program and makes it feel more like an actual DAW on a desktop. Kudos to the developers on this one. Keep up the great work! This is by far the best iOS DAW on the market, coming from the team that introduced the world to VSTs.

Impressive!. Cubasis 2 is impressive to say the least. What your able to create and then master with this app is pretty amazing, especially considering the budget friendly cost. I would recommend this DAW to any young writer or composer, you won’t be disappointed. One feature that would make this app perfect, would be a tempo edit track. Other than that, loads of capability.

This is a 5 star app.... This is a 5 star app for learning how to make your own music but it’s missing a several things.... the easiest thing you devs can fix is the sustain wheel. Make that an internal effect because it doesn’t carry over when recording. It makes piano and guitar sound robotic and the transition from one note to another extremely harsh (I want my guitar rifts to flow not sound choppy)! Another easy one is drawing on your sound to make it gradually louder. Please make it possible to do that with left and right speaker input, I want to make a binaural beat. Also the devs (developers) should allow you to cut and chop your own melodies and make it possible to create your own “instrument” by putting your chopped up melody on pads. I know you guys update constantly! Also isn’t there more than just attack and release? Anyways great for learning! (I bought all in app purchases and I would say don’t get the classic machines unless you’re an old school fellow but the effects are f*$#ing worth it) I’m making some sick percussion and I might put it on sound cloud for funsies.

Used to work graeat. The last update seems to have messed up mpe midi. Now if I have mpe midi tracks running in cubasis it seems to trigger random voice changes. This is most obvious when I am using ppg infinite, but I have similar problems with animoog and others. For two years this has been able to replace my laptop DAWs, but these new bugs make it totally unusable for me. I know it’s lame that I didn’t post a positive review when it was working great, and I only was prompted to review the DAW after I had a problem, but I was deeply embarrassed in front of an audience tonight and that’s a powerful motivator.

Good But Missing Some Basics. This app has lots of robust features and is so complete in many ways. That being said, it is severely compromised for its lack of support for changes in time signature and tempos during a song, features promised at least from 2013 on the company’s message board. Really disappointing for this price point, and it doesn’t seem to say much for the developer’s response to users or the real-world application of a DAW for musicians. I would have passed on this purchase had I realized this limitation.

Screen problems. I recently updated to iOS 14.4 on my 12.9” 2nd generation iPad Pro with 512 gig capacity. Now when I go into Cubasis 2 and try to use a Waves plugin (which I purchased them all except the newest) the daw goes away and all I see is the plugin. Black screen above the plugin. When I use my fingers to “pinch” the screen, I see everything but can’t control anything. Suggestions? Jim

Purchased right before 3 was released..... ...so I just bought this version 2 pretty recently, barely getting into it now that winter break has started, and seeing now that Cubasis 3 is out. Any kind of upgrade discount for previous owners? Or can I return 2 for 3? I can’t really afford to buy two full Cubasis apps within a couple months! Seems to be a mostly functioning DAW, especially for an iPad.

Never again!!!. Steinberg you are a bunch of crooks! Charging full price for Cubasis 3 for those who own Cubasis 2 instead of offering at least a crossgrade discount when really you should offer upgrades for free!!! I spent a decent amount for Cubasis 2 (A Mobile app!) Then I find you update the product and want full price again! I see others complaining and you respond with excuses and justifications! It's black and white! You're IN THE WRONG! Logic is coming to PadOS so enjoy ripping people off while you can! I want a refund!!! if I knew how dirty this company was I never would have invested in the previous mobile DAW! I want my money back!!!!!!

NO LOYALTY!!!. I’ve paid for this app I believe twice now but for I spent $50 for this Cubase 2 and being that you guys came out with cubase 3 it’s sad you don’t offer a discount to loyal customers who have already giving u $50 for this version. Now people who have never givin your company $1 arguably get a better version for free with cubase 3 LE than us paying customers get for our $50 with cubase poo I mean 2. Almost all major software offers a discounted upgrade version for there new software. I hope your company can make it into the big leagues like these companies who are smart enough to understand what loyalty to existing customers and making sure your core customers keep coming back and are always happy with your latest product is worth.

Clock can be flakey. Cubasis is my preferred DAW on the iPad Pro 12.9, and I’ve used it since it first came out, but please Steinberg fix the clock! (and give us finer resolution), also needs tempo change ability like the other major IOS DAW has. As iPads get more powerful and more ram I’m finding myself using them more and more in my synth studio than my desktop computer DAW’s .. the relative simplicity of Cubasis takes me back to the 80/90’s when I was using the old toaster Mac SE30 and Opcode Vision .. a good time back then. I’m hoping Steinberg keep pushing Cubasis to the limit of what these newer iPads are capable of. As it is now at the end of 2019 I’d give it 5 stars if it had a more stable clock, finer resolution, and tempo change like its competition. Looking forward to the next update. Thanks Steinberg.

Dang I hate being a poor starving artist!?!. AHHHHhh!?! It’s about that time again!?! Apple tax, and apparently many dev’s are asking for their fees again... unfortunately im a bit less fortunate, and have grown comfortable with the constant misfortunes. Anyways, These guys (or guy) deserves more money for gracing us with the ability to create mobile music via a freaking iPhone?? Seriously, thank you guys for all your hard work and persistent updates. You are neck n neck for my MOST USED APP. (According to screen time reports)!?! Hopefully Cubasis 3 goes on sale soon...

I wish this app had one BASIC functionality. I don’t use this app. It simply doesn’t work for me, because it lacks one of the simplest functionalities, one that dates back to analog recording: Punch-ins. You can’t ‘record over’ in the traditional sense. Instead of punching in and hearing what you are recording, you hear what was previously recorded mixed with what you are recording, which is very distracting, and dare I say, idiotic. Consequently, there is no comping functionality. This has been on the ‘wish list’ for like 5 yrs. It’s ridiculous, sad, and a shame, but it is what it is. Pass.

Great iOS DAW. I have been using Cubasis for a few weeks now, and I have to admit that I took to it rather quickly. Works well, interface works as expected, no surprises. I use it to perform with MIDI tracks on my Montage. Now that Yamaha has released v2.5 of the Montage OS, that includes DAW control (Cubase is supported), it would be great is Cubasis also was supported.

Room for improvement. I go back and forth a lot between Garage Band and Cubasis, and my conclusion is that it’s a lot easier to use Garage Band than this app. Lately I’ve been making Hip-Hop instrumentals and it’s just easier to do in Garage Band. With that being said, if Cubasis were to update with a tool that would allow the user to preset a key signature, I’d use this app more than Garage Band. I’ve been holding out hoping that the app would update with this feature for months, but for now you have to preset all chords individually. Don’t get me wrong, Cubasis is far superior to Garage Band in terms of production quality and automation. Unfortunately, though, it’s pretty hard to knock out multiple song when you have to constantly preset a key signature by programming each individual chord on the chord pad. Please fix this issue with Cubasis! Thanks.

Cubasis 3. Another $50. No Thank You.. I was excited at first when I learned about Cubasis finally going to be available on the iPhone. I have enjoyed using Cubasis on my iPad. But I quickly discovered they want me to pay another $50 for a DAW that I already bought (along with all the in app purchases) just to be able to use it on my iPhone. No thank you. Thanks to NanoStudio 2 (universal app from the start) and BM 3 soon to follow, I don’t need to pay another $50 for a app I already paid for. While I enjoy using Cubasis, NS2 does the same and more and its on both my iPad and iPhone for a one time purchase. I’ll continue to use Cubasis on my iPad as a secondary DAW, I cannot in good conscious, pay another $50 for something I already have. No thank you.

Keep up the good works!. This is bay far the most usable DAW on iOS. But I do think there are some key features missing from Cubasis. 1. It would be nice to control Cubasis using MIDI controllers. Mapping MIDI CC to control Audio Unit parameters, write automation for plugins, and of course do the transport. 2. Real loop function for MIDI/Audio regions instead of Copy/Paste. This has been the PITA to me for a long time. 3. Full-sized Audio Unit window. It is somehow limiting that the Audio Unit window can only be large as half the screen, especially when you are using an external keyboard and want to get hand of more controls of some complex plugins (let's say Moog Model 15). 4. Re-order the insert/send effects. Currently it can only be done by removing plugins and then adding them again, all parameters will be lost unless you save the paramaters as preset first. 5. Direction lock for the Piano Roll that allows us to zoom along just one direction. 6. Slide up/down to change velocity/aftertouch/modulation for the on-screen keyboard. I know I may ask for too many. But I do love Cubasis and want it to be the best DAW for mobile music production.

IOS Production. Starting to rethink this, I had to reset my iPad, (Not Using ICloud) don’t really trust clouds, and I lost every bit of music I created, you would think your music would show up by just re-downloading the app, their should be something associated with your email that banks everything you create in the app! I too much, I mean too much! The amount that would drain the average person

Great DAW .. with room to improve. I’ve tried a couple different DAWs on my iPad Air2 before switching to Cubasis2, and I’m happy I switched. Since I have a good amount of experience with recording apps I have found Cubasis2 to be well laid out and intuitive in design. But I do have a couple points for improvement: 1) no on screen level meter when recording ( when recording there’s just a swirling symbol, I have to do a test recording, stop and check to see how high my levels are), 2) the undo button directly above track one, (kinda picky, but how many times I’ve hit that accidentally) 3) Using a year old midi guitar app and having issues with it being available in the track Inter App Audio Input prefs section; received this response from the developer “We’re aware that Cubasis’s handling of IAA is somewhat cumbersome. Garageband’s handling of IAA feels totally different and mostly better imho, so there is room for improvement there on Steinberg’s side.” Just passing that along .. Bottom line I like the results when I use Cubasis 2, and am looking forward to future updates.

Best DAW for iOS iPAD. When recording live drums via a digital mixer no matter the model, it’s compatible. You can record multiple tracks at a time with no latency and great sound. Steinberg did good on this and you can mix on the fly on a plane, a boat , a car wherever and send the stems to Dropbox, Google drive and import to your other favorite DAWs. This is a game changer for me.

Not happy so far. I had been really excited to use Cubasis 2 on my iPad Air 2. All other daws and apps work flawlessly! Cubasis however crashes every time I try to use inter app audio. Which is the most important feature to me as I have invested a lot into other apps. Granted, I can import recorded patterns or samples but being able to do it within the daw is what I want. I’m hoping an update may fix this. So far my main two drum apps will not work at all without Cubasis crashing, iMpc pro and BeatHawk. I am on the latest version of the app as it’s a new install as of today. I’m also on the latest version of iOS. Please fix this!!!

The best DAW. First I got Auria. But I did not like it. I did not find it friendly. Then I got Cubasis 2. This is the bestDAW for iPad. The big problem of Cubasis is that you cannot map it. This is very very very sad. When I say map I mean using a foot controller to select tracks or modify volume or other settings. There is no mapping in Cubasis, why? it like a man in a nice suite with no shoes. People has complain about this but nothing has been done about it: you cannot use Cubasis live with a foot controller. Sorry!

Almost perfect. Simple but powerful. I understand it wasn’t designed to be used in the studio, although it is absolutely capable of. MY ONLY REQUEST is that I’d love to see some kind of MIDI control protocol integrated! Mackie HUI or even just a MMC and MTC M@ster/Sl@ve would put it in a different league, enabling users to connect it with pro control hardware. The touch screen is absolutely awesome when after a studio session you are fine tuning mixes in your sofa using headphones, but for serious work, one can’t just fumble around those tiny icons, need real faders and transport controls, at least. Like Auria, which works like a charm in that regard. Except, it’s too complicated, and with outboard MIDI it has a p@inful l@tency, Cubasis is waaaay tighter. Cubasis never crashes, seems to be just rock solid and much more reliable than anything else on the i platform. Of course, I never used it with Audiobus, that stuff is only good if you use apps only an no hardware. I don’t even use the MIDI sequencing, instead I do it all on an Ak@i MPCX, which is then controls a couple of an@loge and a couple of digital hardware synts and an e drum set, so I use it practically as a 21 century reel to reel, rather. 😀 Please tell me you guys are working on something like that! I hate computers so much, and an iPad Pro with Cubasis is so fully capable that its actually scary.

The Best iOS DAW Ever!. I’ve had Cubasis 2 for some years now. But it’s a beast hands down. I can make some really good starters of ideas as far as production and export it to Ableton or Maschine 2 to complete the production. The workflow is just so smooth. Even the factory effects are decent. I love it!

Better than 3. This is my updated review after using for over a year.I really like this version. I tried cubasis 3. But asked and got my refund from Apple, because Whatever issues i had previously with 2.8 were small compared to cubasis 3. I like the new interface and it seems smoother but not without glitches and new changes that are pointless. Some things like scrolling in piano roll you have to get used to . Its like learning a new DAW. The new improvements like fine editing are ok but not worth the 50 bucks. So i will stick with 2.8 until they figure out why their review ratings are going down to 3.2. And make the necessary improvements and build on what was working , not merely change just for the sake of change.

Nigh on perfect. I love this app. I really do! If you have any interest in making high-quality music on your iPad, you owe it to yourself to invest in this app. Of course, you'll need to invest in several other apps also, but this is a fantastic DAW, and can easily become the workhorse of your music production.

Superb. I have been using Cubasis now for four years and it has rarely let me down. It will always be my favorite composing and production app on the App Store. The developers are clearly working to make the app better every day, as there are updates frequently, and new instruments/effects are added often as well. My only request is that the tempo could be rigged to changed during a project instead of being stuck with one tempo for an entire song! Nevertheless, until it is resolved, I will work around the issue!

Neon Taylor Approves. I’ve been using Cubasis/Cubase to too long now to not have left a review until now, it wasn’t until more than a handful of ppl started to ask me to start doing tutorials for cubasis that I really started to think how powerful it really is for an iOS device, I have been making music strictly on the iPad since 2011 so I’ve seen how the iOS music scene has developed over the years rather then just stumbling upon it now so I guess the wow, shock and awe has faded a lil and with these music apps doing updates here and there sometimes it would be more feasible to work with one specific daw because it has feature another doesn’t at the moment but cubase/cubasis has never let me down, the workflow is so smooth and proficient that it leaves more room for creativity and time and the sounds that come with it are some of the most lushes sounds that I’ve heard from any music app I’m a Beatmaker3/Reasons kind of guy but cubase/cubasis will always have a special place with me

Why no option to upgrade from the previous version?. Considering projects won’t transfer without the user connecting an iPad to a computer, then coping projects to said computer, and copy them back to the new app’s file using iTunes or some cloud storage. It’s a major hassle, it also means that you probably won’t delete your previous projects from Cubasis until you then open them and the ver3. Which means lots of extra storage is needed to accomplish this procedure. Moreover, you’ll need to buy all the effects bought in Cubasis ver2 again for ver3. Some of these effects were just released six months ago. I have repeatedly supported app developer that provide paid updates while not supporting developers that don’t. I have been using Cubase for 15 years, yet because the last two years on my Mac I’ve have issues with their copy protection slowing down productivity and now I can’t use my iPad as a sketchbook without transferring everything and hopping it all works, I think I’ll skip any more options to use their products.

Almost replaces garageband.....almost. The bad, so far: Sustain doesn’t lock, so its kind of useless No arpeggiator The triplet delay sounds nothing like it’s counterpart in gb. In gb I can whack on triplet for instant dub vibes, not happening here. No bass amps No scale selection, or scale layout for keyboard Freezes playback when you hit undo There’s a distortion issue with my interface that is isolated to Cubasis and I can’t figure it out Don’t think I can save custom instruments (remains to be seen) Basically, stick to garageband, it’s the lesser evil, unless you really need one of the very few additional features this app provides.

No NanoKontrol support. I paid $65 for this app to replace Garageband because I expected it to respond to my Korg Nanokontrol. It doesn't. I am fed up with trying to find out if I am doing something wrong or if the app is at fault. It looks like a decent app but I can't use it.

Great but no time sig or tempo freedom. Great app, really easy to use but there are two glaring omissions , the ability to use any time sig or tempo in a composition. Hopefully we will see that in an update and my rating goes to five stars.

Do not buy. Inter app audio does not work, or even appear, when using on the iPad air2 64gb. Cannot sign into the forums where others have made the same complaint. Asked App Store to take app back and give me a refund but got no reply.

Honestly. I love Cubasis. Thank you the product team for bringing this to reality!

Intuitive Workflow, Updates Often. The best DAW on iOS for me and I’ve tried most.

It doesn't get in the way. It's not accurate to say Cubasis has everything included. It's missing some absolute standards amongst desktop DAWs. Automation is perhaps the most glaring example. For me, the lack of time sig and tempo changes are the most significant. In its current form it is by no means perfect. Having said that, I still absolutely love it. Unlike other iOS DAWs I've used and seen, it's not cluttered, and the power is not hidden behind menus behind menus. It allows my creativity to flow without getting in the way. That's one of the most important functions a DAW can perform - getting out of the way of the creative process by making things easy for you. Steinberger has nailed this philosophy with their iOS interface. No iOS DAW is perfect yet. It comes down to what the individual finds appropriate for their own music making. For me, Cubasis is great, and I'm sure the appropriate changes will come with future updates. If you're thinking about iOS DAWs, Cubasis should be very near the top on your list.

Great!. The GarageBand app is enough for most people, but if you’re serious about recording on iOS then this is the app to have until Apple produce an iOS version of Logic Pro X (which they should have done by now, seriously). All I wish for is that the free virtual instruments were a little better, the drum kits are particularly unrealistic.

Quality!. Without any reservations I can fully recommend this app. Easy to use and fully featured. Faultless in midi implementation and stability. Sure it looks expensive at first glance but there is absolutely everything included. No in-apps are needed to make it a complete DAW. Head and shoulders above the rest and surely the benchmark.

Brilliant app - very fast, very capable. The latest update has fixed all issues I had, and the dev team are all over the forums picking up suggestions and working on improvements. The app itself is brilliantly designed - and the Audiobus integration is TOTALLY FANTASTIC. It feels like all the apps I use are now one whole. Must buy. Do it.

Very good indeed. The main strength in this app is the lack of clutter-it's streamlined to make getting ideas up and running quickly-I use it with hardware synths via midi and find the timing to be very good-something I was never able to achieve even on windows desktop machines-it occasionally crashes-mainly when tapping "undo" too quickly-it's not super duper in terms of effects but I find I get music done a lot quicker than other apps I've tried-I look forward to updates (automation...drool..)-if you want lots of flashy gimmicks this not the app for you but if you want a good workhorse app for getting arrangements done then this is it.

Great. the new update resolves so many issues. automation will be the next big step but this is great work so far.

Good app but with issues. I have the new 2018 iPad Pro and got this app to work with, however when I load more than five tracks the app starts to make popping and crackling sounds during playback. Everything works great but it does not seem to be able to handle that much. Please work on this.

Cubasis 1.8. Arguably the best DAW for iOS just got so much better :) Just wish there was a native support for iPad Pro

Frustrating. I bought this because it does some things that Garage Band doesn't do. Unfortunately once I get a few tracks done it fails to work properly, behaving strangely. One instrument appears on all tracks, my project disappears from the list, tracks refuse to play and so on. I wish I hadn't wasted my money.

Where is General midi sound support of all the standards.. Lacks the basics, and that is general midi sound fonts so you can play your midi files from various countries and have them sounding great. No Accordion! Are you serious!

for $50 i expected more - constantly crashes. this app has great potential, but keeps crashing, files end up getting corrupted and wont open, very unreliable. for this price i expected so much more from a big company. theres no midi clock, and no automation, the midi editor also needs some work. If these issues were fixed id maybe give it another two stars.

Best DAW in the AppStore. Great DAW app and very versatile. There's nothing like it in the app store. Real easy to use and get ideas down. Would like to see additional features like chord tracks.

Must have..!. What an awesome app. An essential addition to every musos arsenal. Well worth the price. Synth apps I have tested and that work with Cubasis include: 1. Magellan 2. NLog 3. Arctic Keys 4. Sunrizer 5. Animoog Drum machine apps I have tested and that work with Cubasis include: 1. MoDrum 2. Funkbox Will update as I discover more... Unfortunately, KORG apps aren't compatible (more's the pity). Running on iPad 2nd Gen. Four instruments comfortably.

Getting close to the iOS musician's dream. With the introduction of Audiobus, this app is amazing. I've used Meteor, Auria, Music Studio, Nanostudio and others, and Cubasis is by far the easiest to use in terms of midi and audio editing, and so far seems far more stable than the others. The fact that it easily communicates with Core Midi and internally to other iOS apps on your iPad makes it really usable as a midi sequencer with that can record the output of Audiobus capable apps. For example, you can sequence iMS20 in Cubasis, tweak the sounds in the iMS20 app in realtime and record the output into a Cubasis audio track. The limited set of plugins work well for what they do (it would be nice to see in app purchases of 3rd party plugs a la Auria). Another really great thing about this app is the many ways to get mixes, loops and projects in and out. You can use iTunes, a web browser with a supplied IP address, soundcloud, Dropbox, Audiocopy or even email! I don't have Cubase on a computer, but apparently you can open Cubasis projects in the latest versions to tweak your ideas further. The fact that this app automatically senses any available midi or Audio i/o is also great, saves you having to scroll through menus etc. The input keyboard and drum pads are very usable and have some velocity capability, but of course are still no match for physical input devices. Future improvement list would have to include some kind of mix automation, as currently this is non existent. Might be a deal breaker for some, but if you want an iOS DAW that allows you to get your ideas down super fast and with a high level of stability, it works really well. It would also be good to have MMC or Midi Beat Clock, to sync other apps with. All in all, very impressive. Can't wait to see what future updates bring.

Expensive for an app that continuously crashes. As Ian Bruce has previously stated, the app has wonderful potential, especially with the Audiobus compatibility, but the crashes are extremely frustrating. For an app, $50 is quite a price to pay. Normally for the kind of potential that this app has, I wouldn't mind so much about the cost but with the amount of hours that I've spent trying to make tracks with Cubasis, on several occasions my work has been lost within a split second without being able to restore from a backup file. How easy it is for files to get corrupted makes this DAW somewhat unreliable. What a shame. Steinberg, please fix the issue ASAP.

Great recording studio Cubasis. I’ve been using Cubasis for quite a while and have released finished productions made with Cubasis onto Apple Music & iTunes. Great virtual analog synth, automation capabilities, fantastic drum machines and more. I love the fact that your recording studio can now be anywhere.. I’m looking to update to the latest release Cubasis 3. Thank you to all the Cubasis team for developing such amazing software.

Great v1.0. Audiobus last week cubasis this week! Great first release, midi editing is cool and sounds are good. Over the years have used cubase but mainly logic in the last few - very natural to use though if you've used cubase before, and sharing of projects as well as mixdowns is very cool.

wonderful. Works wonderfully and is a joy to use. Previous sample rate issues have been ironed out and everything works as expected in that regard. Would love to see some extended functionality as time goes by.

Outstanding app!. Another great update.

A good start, solid app and the first real midi DAW.. A good start, this will need audiobus to be useful to me. A few comments: -does not send midi start, this is a problem when using funkbox in sync mode -almost all IOS midi synths don't play nice with cubasis yet. Can only get Magellan and funkbox to reliable talk, I have tried about 12 other synths that don't work or rarely work so are really unusable. Seems like a few use too many resources so not really cubasis fault. Others occasionally appear as a midi out option but can't be triggered. -only midi out to other synths so no way to include audio from midi triggered synths in mix down or bounce to audio -too much emphasis on included box sounds. I would use garage band if I wanted packaged sounds. Let me sequence and record all the synths out there -tools and use are excellent, this will be the definitive iOS midi DAW platform. -they included all TR808 sounds but left out the Kick! What's with that? -synths tested and failed: Cassini, ppg, additictive, impactor, moog, synrizer, epic,xenon,dm1, mini synth pro, synthtonica, ims20 Great one Steinberg! Bring on version 1.1 and audiobus!

Great App - Useless for Midi Studios. Ive owned Cubasis now for 2 years, and I havent been able to use it. Ive asked repeatedly on forums for a fix to a glaring bug it has. You cannot use more than one Midi Interface of the same type. For example, if you use two Roland Um1 USB midi interfaces (doesnt matter what brand the interface is, as long as there are more then one of the same type on the USB bus) Cubasis cannot select one or the other, it selects both and transmits Midi to both when trying to only select one. ModStep, a competitor, gets around this easily by giving the second interface a prefix of 2, etc, so you can easily address either interface. I have four Korg SQ1's, forget trying to use Cubasis here, if I create a track, and select one Korg SQ1, all four get selected and all four recieve data from the one Midi track. Sick of waiting for a fix. Great app, but not for serious Midi, and its hard saying that when "Steinberg" basiclly defined Midi Sequencers.

Disappointed. Cubasis 3 release with no offer for owners of previous Cubasis versions any discount to upgrade.

Very User Friendly. An intuitive music production app which is very useable/user friendly which allows start to finish musical ideas/songs. Exportable /sharable results. Great app.

Easy to use and powerful. A bit of a learning curve, but once you learn the basics this is such a powerful way to record inside the iPad without any peripherals.

Figured I would give another star to Cubasis 2. ...because Cubasis 3 is so buggy. Sure 3 has a few more features on paper but they broke things that worked great in 2 like basic selecting and moving of audio clips. Edit: I cant stand their copy/paste reply. Annoying.

Great companion to Cubase Pro and Nuendo. Been using Cubasis on my iPad Mini since it first became available as a pre-production/writing tool and can't say enough about how handy it is. Whether you're traveling, or just keep it handy for those spur or the moment, middle of the night inspirations that were once relegated to a notepad and, hopefully, being able to remember and retain the specifics critical to recreating it later, this tool will become indispensable to you. Tapping out a quick beat and/or laying down a melody and being able to easily export it for later import into Cubase or Nuendo for further production couldn't be handier. It's an easy five out of five for me.

Solid but needs tweaking. Overall a very solid app for recording audio and midi into through audiobus and interApp. Glaring issues are the pinch to zoom feature which often does not zoom the way you want it to. Midi is a bit buggy and often produces clicks and pops, even on an ipad air. And sharing the project with Cubase is problematic in tht you have to export through iTunes, the wifi server won't effectively share your session and when importing to cubase the audio files are not imported, so that needs to be fixed at least with cubase 7.5 anyways.

Garageband on steroids!. Okay, so if you are like me and like to get your ideas sketched out quickly and easily, then this app is for you. I usually use Garageband but this app is about 10x as powerful. Still lacking some pro features but it is still very early in the development of this app. Nice Audiobus implimentation.

forget it on ipad mini 2, Sunrizer crashes every time. FINAL REVIEW: I expect things to work as advertised; description says AU’s will work with iPad mini 2 but no way, far too laggy, Sunrizer and XS don’t load at all and crash. Unusable right now even though i bought the whole system. I like exploring this app and I bought all the in app purchases, but it crashes every time with a popular synth whose specific sounds I want to use now (sunrizer), so I have to drop Cubasis and go to Auria instead, no crashes so far with it and way less laggy than Cu. Worried that other IAA’s won’t work but a bit disheartened to test and i’m discouraged; that feeling =1 or 2 stars if i forget about IAA instruments. Might as well have gotten Gadget without the inter-app support. I’ve updated my operating system, Cubasis and all audio apps to know avail, freed up tons of gigs.

Was great until it stopped opening.. I have an iPad Mini 4. Up until now, Cubasis 2 worked almost flawlessly. For some reason the app just will not open. I see the introduction screen and then nothing. I tried everything short of backing up and re-downloading, which I really want to avoid. Steinberg, please help.

Come on come on come on!. Guys I love this app, but pls, It would be so awesome if I can just import Cubase project to cubasis so I can literally work everywhere! Make it happen, plsssssss?

Excellent for editing and tracking. Sound quality is excellent. The user interface is well adapted for the iPad. Good Audiobus integration for tracking softsynth performances. Built in audio effects are surprisingly rich and useful sounding. I work with a completely high-end studio setup most of the time... and I find using Cubasis a refreshing lightweight alternative that yields 100% pro results.

Very good software. This version of Cubase is as good as we are used to expect from Steinberg. As a long time user of their PC version, I feel totally at home, event better: the user interface has something very intuitive with the use of fingers instead of a mouse. No more debutant editing limitations as in GarageBand. The sounds (halion samples) are very good, but I'd like to have sound sculpting options for the analog synth, organ etc. Maybe in a future versions or through third party VSTi? The audio plugins are perfect for the task. Finally a tool (not a toy) that allows real serious work, transferable to/from real studio DAW workstation. Jocelyn Bouchard, OreilleGauche_com

So many, several, plenty, full of bugs!!. Honestly the app is good, but bugs are everywhere!! Lost of tracks, lost of inter app sounds, change of track colors automatically, lost of track titles, many others here and there! Côme on fix this!!! It's almost impossible to have a song finished, always re-doing something!!

The best recording app on the iPad by far.. I’m here to tell the developer that I can’t hear the audio on the time line anymore. Please fix cause I use it daily.

Great program, great updates. I find this is my “go to” app for all my music ideas. If an instrument app doesn’t work with Cubasis, I won’t buy it. I have to admit that updates are a little slow for this app, but I have no problems with the features and functions that it does provide. I am really glad to see the inclusion of Audit Units, as I feel these are a much better option than IAA or AudioBus connectivity. The Sternberg team are great at responding on the Sternberg forums, and there is a lot of good information to be found there.

Jaryi G. If you wish to focus on dubstep and the like this is for you, though still limited as opposed to Korg. If you focus on audio and wav this is also for you, though still limited as opposed to Auria. I understand it is not possible to go pro on mobile devices yet but if you're serious about pro this is not quite there yet. In other words Cubasis is a better toy than Garageband by far, but still a toy. Price should be revised to 29$. The reason Auria is so expensive is because it will focus on a technique in detail. Cubasis is like Apple, they focus on nothing in detail in efforts to score most sales. Very good app, but overpriced. To reach the 50$ mark they need an update of EQ (especially), and other effect controls. I can see how Auria was created with a "lets change the world" approach, where this app had in mind "we are Steinberg, and that is a seller on its own". Wrong. If you're Steinberg and you're cool then give me a cool EQ control because we're all tired of Garageband mixing our music for us on its own. By all means cool app though. Do buy because it looks great and is colorful. If you want to record a live drum set though, get Auria.

Needs more RL drum kits. As a child of the 80’s, I’d appreciate a few more acoustic kits. Other wise, I’m satisfied with the functionally.

Getting better!. But still needs more to compete with apps like Auria and Meteor! Keep the updates coming

Register Where?. Just downloaded the update to 1.6. I would have rated 5 star had I not gone to register as the update description said I could only to find it is not listed in software. Also there is no email support link in MySteinberg which makes me wonder if spending hundreds in the future on a pc Cubase program is really a wise idea. No one likes digging through forums for answers.

Dark screen. Just purchased the app and since I have been using it the screen has slowly been getting darker. It is now black and I can't see anything. Is this something you are aware of and if so I there a fix in the works? Overall, with the limited time I was able to use it before it went dark, a great app and I'm excited to create with it in the future. Cheers

What's u with these these bad reviews? :(. THIS APP IS AMAZING. Truly awesome! It s worth the 50 bucks hands down. I literally have almost every single app for music in iTunes and this is the best daw type app for iPad. It's bliss ! I know that the only reviews that are Currently listed complain about bugs but since July or so cubase has done huge improvements and fixed so many of those problems.its so fluid smooth and integrates so effortlessly with any drum, synth or other audio bus or inter-audio able apps I am truly amazed at how my work flow has gone up ten fold compared to beat-maker2 and nano-studio. This daw has just blown me away with how it all flows like water. It's like the first time I owned audio bus and dumb I felt for not buying it sooner. Seriously ipad 4 crashes with many apps but not this one. Buy it it's dope

MIDI learn for external controllers?. All in all, this is a fantastic app. Been using it for 3 years solid. Best for scratching it all out. Two things: if one cannot draw automation into a stopped project- can we get MIDI learn for controllers to get more precise control in editing automation?

The engine and quality are quite impressive but.... There’s some glitches that happen sometimes with the tempo itself that bothers me wen I’m mixing sample with manual composition they are not in time somehow I figure out by putting 3 more seconds on 120.0 bpm nothing glued... perfectly but wen I put 120.3 its start to sound well on time but stills bother...

Dark screen as well. Was working great until the screen got darker....now what?

Not worth it. This app was not worth the price and I wish I could return it. The professional capabilities of the app are limited.

Strong DAW for iOS...one problem. I've been using Cubasis for at least 18 months and it is one of the best apps available with full interconnect-ability between all of the MIDI and audio routing options. The Step Sequencer is strong, recording is easy and latency is not too bad. I've used Cubasis to create full tracks produced solely within the iPad, as well as create sketches to be imported into my other systems. It works well for most everything! The only problem I've really had has been with audio editing. The level of detail and waveform resolution is low when zooming in, to clip the audio perfectly. There is a point at which there is no more zoom, and you can't quite get your cursor to the edge of your wave due to the the resolution of the wave display. This inevitably creates a space at the edge of a waveform which can distort timing of recordings. It seems like perhaps a fatal flaw as it has me considering other options.

Needs more work. This is one of the few apps I wish I could get a refund on. Boring and not worth the price.

Steinberg. 24$ instead of 50$ 👌🏼👻 I really don’t have cash atm but I’m running it love whoever’s idea that was 💪🏻

I liked it better than Garageband. The interface is logical and intuitive, a great match with the iPad Pro 12.9. I hope a tempo track is a future update

Love it so far but past week or so it started bugging out. There's some weird bugs going on with the eq right now

MIDI clock timing issues in cycle mode still needs fixing.. Cubasis has grown a lot over the years and I love all the new features. But MIDI clock timing (especially in cycle mode) is lacking severely. If this weren’t an issue, I would gladly give it a 5 star rating.

Doesn’t look good.... Just got the app and created a multitrack session. Trying to save it and open it again the app makes a new session file and calls it ”(null)”. Original work lost. As I expected, this app is totally unsuitable for professionals.

Amazing app needs. Add subgroups and sidechaining Folders and sub folders that can be created or deleted for better file management Thanks for the great app

Audio glitches. Powerful and nice UI, but unusable on my iPad, audio glitches even with just 1 or 2 tracks and a delay effect. Wish there was a way to get a refund.

Pitch fix. This app has everything; but one thing it’s missing that I think it should have is pitch fix or some kind of Auto-Tune for vocals and guitars. That would really take the app a lot farther

Fix bug with AUM. Everything is pretty good with this app. There is a bug when using AUM to bring audio in from other apps like gadget. when you press undo the app cubasis2 loses AUM and you need to change channels on both AUM and in the input for audio in Cubasis. Otherwise it’s solid.

No Discount?. I just got Cubasis 2 not long ago, now you are released Cubasis 3. Is there any discount for owner of Cubasis 2?

Refund Please. I’m Sorry I want refund this app. Thank you.

Midi sequencer mess. Add a micro sonic midi track with, say slow strings preset. The chords sometimes play and others don’t. Whats the deal here....I’m tired of this app malfunctioning here and there.

Ghost in the Machine. Had some issues early on, but I have since tracked down the problems and am happy to report this is a great app! Coupled with one of the dsp enabled UR-series interfaces, it makes for an intuitive mini studio that is capable of serious work.

No upgrade to newer version losing all in app purchases. Scamming people and saying it’s a new app built from the ground up, no need to use this product anymore.

Mostly good, But.... Please develop a proper drum machine that allows note repeat and easy loading of custom samples. The current method to utilize custom samples it quite exhausting.

Urgent update needed!. Since iOS update 10.3.3 Cubasis is not working properly anymore. Interapp capabilities are gone. MusicStudio however works fine. Needs urgent update. Steinberg are you listening?

Why pay for Cubasis 3?. I paid for Cubasis 2 a year or so ago, why pay again?? Shouldn’t I receive free upgrade, or at least a discount? Will I ever get updates and fixes for Cubasis 2, or will I be pushed towards purchasing Cubasis 3 in a near future??

always crashing after last update. i used cubasis for years and now - after a last update and after cubasis 3 - it's start crashing all the time. especially when i connect midi devices it is always crashing and i think this bug was done by steinberg's developers to make a customers quickly buy cubasis 3 without update price.

Much Better Experience. This version of Cubasis is working very well for me. Much more reliable than previous versions. Plays well with updated AUs

Kinda nice. It’s ok.. but the lack of a pitch editor like the pc/Mac versions (since 5) is crippling this otherwise great app. Lets hope the have the sense to add this essential feature to Cubasis 3. If not, oh boy...

I switched to Nanostudio 2, you dropped the ball!. 50$ for Cubasis 3....and a total disrespect to those who bought Cubasis 2 few months ago. For 50$ I update my Cubase LE 10 to Cubase Elements 10.5...on my laptop!!! BeatMaker 3, Korg Gadget 2, Nanostudio 2 they offer way more and cost less. You guys lost your minds. I took my money and bought Nanostudio 2 instead + couple of other synths. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Don’t serve us the automated response of “we gave you 30+ free updates bla bla bla, we had to rewrite the app bla bla bla” it's just not good enough to justify this let down.

Need a loop feature. NOT A CYCLE let’s hear it over and over but a loop.... I want to take a midi or sound clip and loop it as many times as I want inside the track... not copy and paste but select loop extend till I’m satisfied just like in every other DAW in existence.

One of the Best. Thanks for all the hard work to make one of the best DAWS on iOS. ❤️

Best music app. I love this app. I think it's the best one on the market. All of the updates or amazing

Good but can you quantize audio ?. It’s cool, but I wonder why one can’t quantize audio

I just purchased this app a few days ago.. I just payed $50 to find out there is now Cubasis 3🤦🏻‍♂️. I have tried requesting a refund through Apple and did not meet the criteria. So upsetting!

Top tier-. - and continually improving. This is an IOS DAW that hits a sweet spot between advanced features and accessibility. Very deep and somehow deceptively direct and homey. And backed by a steady and conscientious dev team.

Upgrade to version 3?. I guess I have been spoiled by my FL Studio license which offers unlimited free updates to the latest version. I purchased Cubasis 2, I think it’s cool but I’m bummed that version 3 is out now and it is an additional purchase, including having re purchase add-on features such as arpeggiator etc. grrr!

Overpriced for the quality. In general this is not that bad of an app, as it provides the basic functionality required. However, I think there are far better apps out there for much more reasonable prices. I have 2 major issues with this app. Firstly, the sound quality of the included instruments is poor. Compare to the $0.00 cost GarageBand and it’s night and day. Secondly, I cannot see any of my AU apps - I followed the instructions in the manual, but can’t see them to add to tracks, yet other apps like AUM can see them. Either the manual is out of date, or there is an unaddressed bug in this app. Overall I’m disappointed.

Excellent & appreciable; at least for me. If it’s possible to have ‘in-app purchase’ audio samples, or in Apple Music? not like ‘AudioCopy’ or other usual types, but “”in CUBASIS STANDARD LEVEL" Plaese answer Thank you guys in Cubasis.

Needs midi learn. I love this app but it needs midi learn so I can use my Bluetooth midi controller.

Lacking. C3 is out now and they want $50 more? This never really gives what we NEED! How about a REAL sampler! The one on here is a joke

Latest update is a complete train wreck. Soooooo many problems, can’t even begin to start where, I almost feel like it was done on purpose to sabotage us and force us to buy Cubasis 3. Really disappointed with the new update.

Update what’s important first ,the RETINA resolution interface !. This is effectively an iPhone app running on iPads . It’s been two years , what’s it gonna take , another price tier to get steinberg to update the Interface ,thereby making it possible to consider it a professional work space . Please , Before adding more plugin purchase options and such ,take care of the screen so it makes me at least associate the program to the look of the pro app that I’m running on my desktop . Thanks , Mikael

Awesome. I’ve been and still am a Cubase user since 1998..... I’ve just gotten into using my iPad for song writing and where did I go first to see what they have to offer for recording apps? Steinberg! You guys never disappoint! Love this app on my iPad Mini 4!!

It works, Its fast, Sounds OK!. Ive used Cubase over a decade, I’m pretty pleased here. I’m sure version 3 will be superb. Give us Keyboard shortcuts Please! As now there is no key support.

Absolutely the best DAW for iOS!. The most flexible and intuitive DAW for iOS period. Latest update brings it closer to Cubase! Have been using Cubase for 12 years and Cubasis for 2 years. Love everything Steinberg puts out! Simply the best for my needs!

Another solid update to a great DAW!. Loving the new usability tweaks and the Classic Machines IAP are great for quickly laying down a groove. Thanks for the update!

No buses, really?!. I was drawn to Cubasis because of its polished look and its access to Waves plugins. I was loving it at first then realized there are NO BUS TRACKS!!! What??!! How in the world can this company really charge $50 for an incomplete DAW? Mix buses are core functionality and doing any sort of decent drum mixes or grouped instrumentation is not possible without some seriously ugly workarounds. Secondly, you can’t change tempo mid song. Thirdly, well, this app leaves you really wishing it actually was worth the price tag. Sadly, I was forced to shell out another good chunk of change for Auria Pro... it might not be as polished looking as Cubasis but at least it is feature complete. I do not recommend Cubasis for any serious audio production needs.

If not plagued with crashes and freezes. Amazing app if could be stable with newer iPad and plugins. Potential but too many blocker bugs on my new hardware to have a workflow.

Version 3. I see its apple causing problems😀 for upgrading The newest version just been updated with a few new features, now written them from scratch We should get better upgrade price

No update for Cubasis 3?!. I feel like haning to pay for something I have all ready paid. Sad. I would like having midi learn for buttons like rec, mute, play, but there is not an app with MMC for the IPad. I think many musicians would pay gladly for it in the IPad. The best daw for iPad!. My name is kunan, no y U.K. an. Without midi learn for MMC, IPad is kind of midi note pad!.

In app purchases won’t work!. Revised review. Got the IAP to work and now I’m ready to go. Love this app and now I really want to jump into it. Using a Steinberg UR-RT4 (amazing) as my AI. Thanks Lars! - Jonathan

No audio routing or percent quantize.. I have many songs where some external instruments cannot be frozen or routed through Audiobus. I cannot do anything with these beats. I would have to record the song to a computer daw, which defeats the whole purpose. Why make such a huge limitations? Intentionally crippling your own product will not help your company in the long run.

GET THIS DAW. Spot on, the best DAW on IPad! It functions clean and sexy like. You will not be disappointed my friend

So sad. I literally just bought this 10 mins ago not even realizing there is Cubasis 3. Now I can’t refund this or even pay the difference to rather buy Cubasis 3. So sad. I have to pay all over again for 3

Very disappointed. Very disappointed for the price model that do not allow old user to upgrade. Good bye cubasis. :(

No Drag & Drop support. Keyboard Shortcuts Needed!!. I’m asking to please add the ability to add drag and drop support from the files app to an audio or MIDI Track, other apps like n-track 9 have it. Also, why not a full screen mixer?, why no keyboard support (smart or Bluetooth) for transport, etc. Like GarageBand. Great app, but needs basic implementations to make it the best.

My go to daw for iOS. This is my go to daw for sketching my ideas, before they fade.

The best music app for iOS. This app does more than any apps can and you can integrate all your apps in. It is the most best.. Bigly! 😂
