Seems pretty bare bones. Needs notifications.. I think apps like these are what makes smart phones and tablets shine. However, I didn't notice any settings for notifications. Yes, you can follow the link to the cities website but notifications when a snow emergency is declared would put this app in a much better position. Get that taken care of and I can easily do 5 stars!

Great!! Easy to use!! Very useful. This is a great app. I haven't experience any issues or glitches. Everything is tip top shape. Saves me the time to search or hear the news if there is a snow emergency delcare or not. Thanks guys for creating a useful app. Can life get any easier!

Used to be great, terrible now. I used this app fairly consistently last year, I’m not sure when it was updated but it’s pretty awful now. Many links redirect you outside of the app and the few that don’t are riddled with error messages.

Doesn’t work. The old version worked just fine for years. The latest version does not work. You should be able to click on the “Day 1”, “Day 2” or “Day 3” buttons to bring up the parking. Nothing. None of the buttons work at all.

Poorly executed. No different than website.. I couldn't get the MPLS snow emergency website map to load properly on my phone (safari) so I downloaded this hoping that an app built specifically for iphone would offer a solution. I got an "app" that links directly to the site anyway, offering the same sporadic loading of the map with the additional frustration of awful navigational controls. Also, for the past few hours I've received a "server not found-try again later" error, which makes the whole thing moot anyway. I love the city's texting alerts-but living and navigating downtown during a snow emergency goes beyond the normal "odd/even" rules of thumb and a proper map at the ready would be great.

Winter Parking Restrictions. This app NEEDS an option to view where you can park during the Winter Parking Restrictions, I parked where it was my understanding you could park (odd side of a non-snow emergency street) and was towed and ticketed for parking in a no parking zone, the rules are so confusing and this app that is supposed to help is completely useless until the Winter Parking Restrictions are lifted I mean we could potentially be having to try and figure this out for the next 3 weeks and like the Snow Emergency Rules just reading the rules doesn’t really help understand them as easily as pairing it with a map.

Just okay, lots of good info on it at least. Functionality is all good except the snow emergency day is cut off on the home page where it says what day is in effect in red text so it’s hard to see what day we’re on. Also the alert system only alerts me of the first day via text and not on subsequent days which caused me to get a parking ticket.

Great App!. Just what we need in Minneapolis with all of this infernal weather we have!

It's OK. I like the rules, but it really needs to show if there is a snow emergency in effect right now. Notifications would be ideal, but at least show what day of the snow emergency you are on. I get that they are concerned with people relying on old information, but I find that unlikely.

Dead wrapper of the website. This app is just a wrapper for the city website, and it's clunky. The website - and thus the app - currently do not show a snow emergency in effect (11:55) even though I got an automated email from the city declaring a snow emergency (11:13). Don't rely on this. Use the website in conjunction with email alerts.

Terrible App, not working. This app could be great, but instead it's a lazy copy and paste of posted info. Also the map doesn't work. Also navigating back to the home page doesn't work. Get a single engineer to spend a couple hours in this and it could be great.

Looking for a spot (where you are not!). There is a significant flaw in the updated version of this app. More often then not, I will look for a parking spot prior to leaving my current location. Meaning I need to look for a parking spot in a location that is different from my own as provided by gps. The new version of this map makes this nearly impossible, constantly dragging you back to your current location and not letting you look at other areas of the map. This promotes unsafe driving as I have to look at the map while driving... Hope this can be addressed, because this map is very helpful when functional.

Buttons don’t work. This app is 100% non-functional, like most of MN’s government services. Needs to be overhauled. And please add push notifications so people know a snow emergency has been declared. St. Paul’s app works fine - maybe check out theirs and imitate. This app doesn’t require really cutting edge tech - a functional map, basically. Not too much to ask, Minneapolis. Get it together.

Good info: crashes often. The app provides excellent info, but crashes every time I try to go "back" using the back arrow

App features not working. I just downloaded the app and the map feature is broken, and links to different files are also broken

This app needs actual features.. It has the rules for each day of a snow emergency and then links to the webpage in safari if you try to look up a street (and the map won't properly load.) This app needs features beyond those found on the web page...

Parking Rules Map is terrible. Keeps jumping to my current location! I’m trying to see the rules for where I live, but I can’t because it will jump to current location (my work). If the point of the app is to be able to see what side to park on for different locations, then this app does not work at all. NOT user friendly.

Nifty lil app. I saw a buddy from Facebook posted this and so I downloaded it as well. I received a call from the city of Minneapolis about the snow emergency but I forgot what side to park on, so I busted out my phone and checked this app and come morning my car was still their. Thanks to all that made this app:)

Buggy, but helpful. Very helpful to have the maps, information, and status. However, the app is quite buggy. Hitting back often gives me a blank white screen on my iPhone 6, latest OS.

Useless app. None of the map features seem to work. Only shows you where you currently are, I like to plan ahead. This app encourages you to use the device while driving for it to function.

Web pages launched from an app. This works terrible in that everything in the app just links to the MPLS gov web site. The map telling you where to and where not to park doesn’t work on a phone. No way to provide feedback in the app.

Great App. This app works perfectly fine. I’m new in town and this has made me understand the rules. Thanks!!

Extremely helpful. Very helpful for residents. Diagrams make rules easy to understand. Well done!

Doesn't work. There is nothing here that isn't on the web. In fact, the street finder refers you to a page on the web that didn't work on my iPhone 5. Bottom line: if I have to go into a desk browser, I don't need this app cluttering up my phone.

Awesome. This app is very useful! Works every time and the text alerts are fantastic. This makes it easy to avoid getting your car towed and save $$$! The typing in address feature and the map by day features make this complex snow emergency protocol easy to navigate.

Pointless app. What is the point of an app if to see the current rules of the snow emergency you have to click on a link to go to a website? Last year this app was way better.

Doesn’t work. Interactive map doesn’t work for me at all. Link to snow rules broken. Put the information on the app and don’t redirect to the website. That’s the point of getting an app.

Is it Day 2 or Day 3?. I like this app, except the area stating the day of the emergency is partially covered. You can only see the very top of the line, which makes it impossible to tell if the number is 2 or 3. Believe me, it is crucial to know if you have to park on the street! Please fix!

Helpful. I live in Minneapolis and use this everytime it snows. No tickets = Happy resident.

Thanks City of Minneapolis!. Some reviewers expect way too much out of a version 1.0 app. Yeah, it might lack notifications but Mpls does a fantastic job getting the word out in so many different ways already - the city has SMS and email alerts for snow emergencies, so yes you can live without a TV or radio, and still get direct, automated alerts if you want to. The description clearly states it lacks alerts, but fails to indicate if there are future plans to add this (which, admittedly, would be nice), which one could only hope. So lighten up, at least our City cares enough to try to reach out in so many different ways even though their app could use some work.

Great idea but abandoned?. This app was great when it was released. But the city of Minneapolis hasn’t updated it in two years. I don’t know if I can trust it any more. It looks antiquated, as the screen resolution is designed for much older devices. If they’d take the time to update this app, I would continue to use it.

Broken.... How do you go from an app that worked just fine to completely screwing it up?Did you (the developers) do any functionality testing? It’s impossible to drag the map and look up the parking rules in the location that I am going to because it constantly drags me back to my actual location... Please fix and for god sakes use it before you release it!

A Rear Wheel App with Bald Tires. Try as hard as you want the map will stick in one place. Controls that are in responsive regardless of hard or soft touch. Maybe the battery is froze? Guess we have to get out and flag some strangers to swipes us out of here. On the plus side somebody found a use for a snow flake graphic from their first MySpace account.

Wrong again. Just starting using this app this year and here we are: it is day 2 ( and the city's website says as much) but the app says day 3. When is the info updated? So much need much this is not delivering any help right how

New app is awful - bring back the old version. The older version of snow emergency app was very basic and easy to find which day parking rules applied. Lots of visuals. The new apps it too detailed and I need my glasses to read the confusing descriptions of parking restrictions.

needs push notifications. It's a handy guide, but needs push notifications.

Useless and broken. This app is pointless. All it does is open links in your browser. Some of the links are broken and point to nothing.

Still problematic. I just open the new and improved application for Minneapolis snow emergencies. The links are broken for snow rules and for FAQs. You would think that they would make these functional on their new application but, not so much.

Poor.. The interactive map doesn’t work, which is really the only reason to use this app. If you click on parking rules (easily found on their website or with a quick google search) you only find a broken link. Complete waste of time to download.

Nice update! Finally!. !!

Website better than app. Downloaded the app today and tried using the parking map to confirm where I can/can't park on snow emergency days. Buttons are non-functioning and navigation is limited. At most it allows me to use my current location but no red/green street shading appears and pressing the Day # buttons does nothing. Since the app doesn't function as well as the website, I'll just revert back to that and delete the app.

HORRIBLE, CRAPPY APP. This app could have been SO MUCH better. It doesn't even tell you if there's a Snow Emergency in effect!!! Here's how to earn a 5-star rating: --Push Notifications for when a Snow Emergency is in effect. --Allow the app the show the user the current status and day # of the Snow Emergrncy. --GPS-enabled mapping of your current location's parking status. (This is so simple and obvious, I'm astounded it's not included. It's as if the person who came up with this has never used a smartphone.) --An interface that doesn't look like it was designed in the late-90s. This app in its current form is nothing more than a bookmark to the website. Utterly pointless.

Just go back to the old one. This last update made a bare bones but functional app turn into a website from the early 2000’s. The map MIGHT load on your 3rd try, and if you wanted scroll around the map to find a street the good luck, the map pulls you back to your location and if you fight it then the app will force close.. The button are obnoxiously big and useless. And selecting what day to show doesn’t register when you press it. I’m on my WiFi (500mbps) and it acts like I have half a bar of signal. Yes this app needed an update, but this is 5 steps in the wrong direction. Just bring back the old version, at least it worked.

No more useful than the website. This is just the same map that is on the city’s website with no extra features (except push notifications, which you can already sign up to get through text message). It would be much more helpful to have an app that tracks which day of the snow emergency the city is on, and which also includes winter parking regulations, which are separate from snow emergency parking rules.

Redesign. So this app is super useful but why does the update mean the app always zooms to your current location. If I park away from my house and want to check it out, I can’t, it keeps zooming into where I am every time. Outside of that the app is a nice redesign.

Needs push notifications. While this is a great app for knowing when there are snow emergency days, you shouldn't have to just regularly check for snow emergency days. One solution to this app: Push notifications for when there are snow emergency days.

Bare minimum of info. Really? If you can change the text to say day 1 (2,3) parking rules apply, you can say which side of the street to park on. Why do I have to clock a link to go to the web page to figure out whether to park on odd or even sides? It's ridiculous.

Useless. This app is pretty useless. Why would I use an app that is going to just pointless back to the website? It needs to tell you if a snow emergency has been declared, what day of the snow emergency it currently is, and then list the parking rules. Push notifications would be great, but even just having he I formation available on the app without the notifications would be helpful.

Pointless. This really does nothing, we can use our phones to look at the website that will tell us the same info. The app tells u to call or go to the web page to see if there is an emergency.

Updated app is useless. There wasn’t much to the old app, but at least you could view if there was a snow emergency in effect and see the parking rules for each day of the snow emergency. The updated app is essentially useless. The new map displays only your current location, does not allow you to pan/zoom/scroll, and only displays the first day of the snow emergency. The Facebook and Twitter buttons take you to the correct webpages, but they are not optimized for mobile, so also essentially useless. The call hotline button seems to be the only button that actually works correctly. Every other button on the app homepage goes to a bad link on the City website.

Doesn't Work. Map that application navigates to does not work.

Total BS. Pathetic waste of time. Dangerous to use on the streets of Minneapolis!

ever wanted to know if its a snow emergency?. with this app, you will know the answer.

Awful. App doesn’t even work

New version is unusable.. The new version of the app is completely unusable. The version from winter 2018 worked well.

Doesn’t work. Old app worked but the new version doesn’t. Won’t display map. MNLARS must have done the programming.

Unclear and confusing. This app takes the confusing rules of snow emergency parking and just makes them even more confusing. Why?!

needs notifications. needs notifications to be great but this is a very handy app thank you. also if it told you what day of the snow emergency it is that would also help.

Don't bother.. App is completely useless. Your app needs to notify the user of a snow emergency, or what's the point of even offering an app?!

Doesn’t work. Does not work on new iPhone. Map freezes and search doesn’t work

Completely broken. 0 effort app. What happened? This is useless.

Needs tweeks. Back button goes to blank screen. Annoying.

Doesn't work at all. Unbelievablely bad

Does not work.. This could be a very useful app, but unfortunately it doesn’t work at all.

Fix your f$@&ing app. Nothing updates to the right day and it is costing me money in tickets. Worthless

Trash app. Wow. So much potential. So poorly executed. It’s 2019, hire a good app developer and a decent graphic designer. Not that hard, but I forgot you’re all about your shameless parking tickets and tows. Smh

Outdated. Links are all dead. Map doesn’t work on iPhone XS. Better off using their website.

Why fix if wasnt broken?. ever since the recent update, the parking map is unusable

Bleh. Bleh

Bosque. Wish it worked. . .but nope! Just takes up space on my iPhone.

It's helpful... if you know when to check it. Push notifications would be really welcome. Please. Please please please

4.1 maybe?. Glad to see an update, but don’t you guys test these things? 404 on parking rules because the # is %-encoded. Map appears frozen. Back button is … grotesque.

Not functional. Just downloaded the app. It seizes up and curls into the digital fetal position when you try to access the snow emergency parking maps. Other links are broken. Utterly useless.

App doesn’t work!. Locks up. Buttons do not respond. Useless.

Horrible update. Today is a snow emergency day and this app is absolutely frustrating and useless in ALL ways. It was bad in its last incarnation but worse now. I don tlive in MPls. so ck the app for info. Pointless now.

Terrible. Hideous: apparently designed by a software engineer instead of a designer. -and- Broken: things half-load, things are unclickable.

Pretty useless. The parking rules link goes to a dead spot on the city’s website and the map is glitchy as hell. Why bother making an app if you can’t keep it updated?

Rules don't display. I tapped on "rules" in the app, and it opened up an error page on the Minneapolis website. Useless.
