Does what it says. Overall this is a very good app, and has customizable tools but yet keeps the concept simple. It's in your face is pretty easy to navigate and you have a lot of choices to pick from filters. Where I believe The app can improve is it allows you to delete frames that you don't want but going through a five second gift can take up to 30 minutes to get it just the way you like it. I believe it would be better if it gavest option toshoes were famous you wanted to keep instead of having to individually select frame by frame of the frame she would like to keep. If you are extracting video for the first time you can isolate a Pacific area and customize it that way but for any woman that is going A usual gifts will want to end officially select a lot of parts of the gift to maximize efficiency. That is very reliable and preferred to use.

Fixed it til it broke. Meh.. Fine. You added tags. But now when I go to crop a gif the tag selection appears where the save used to be. So my choices are tag it or cancel. Can’t save new cropped gif. Hope you fix this with the next update.

Best application for creating gifs. I've used this app for several years it is the best! Tried many before and after always go back to this.

Finally, a text-on-gif app that works. I love this app after editing one gif. Spent all morning trying around ten of the rest before finding this app and was sorely disappointed with each of the others. When they didn't crash immediately the text options were minimal or the app had no 6+ resolution. Only feature request so far is to stroke the text. No stroke customization, just an on/off switch for an outside (never centered, looks terrible in other apps) set to a fairly thin size that would work with the most fonts from super-bold to wispy. Would pay $20 for that.

Very useful tool for creating animated GIFs!. I love it when an app gives my iPhone and iPad more functionality, and this app is a perfect example of that. You can created animated GIFs from video or stills on your camera roll, or you can shoot new video to become an animated GIF. It's easy to use, and produces nice quality animated GIFs! UPDATE: They've added APNG (animated PNG) as an option for export, which is really useful because APNGs contain alpha channel information, or transparency!

Best animated GIF app. Last update crashed on my iPad with iOS 8. The latest update fixed the problem and app is my favorite again.

No gimmicks. Works as advertised.. App has lots of extra utilities and features as well.

It used to be great.. Ever since these recent updates took place, I have had seemingly endless problems with this app: 1.) The quality is lowered significantly after editing is complete. 2.) Assuming problem #1 is true and each pixel's the size of a jumbo Lego, this gif app should not be crashing as much as it does. And yet very time I go to create text, the entire thing shuts down. I've tried deleting frames to create a smaller file, but it still cuts to black. 3.) Speaking of text, its appearance is not nearly as crisp as it once was after saving. 4.) Edits are no longer a quick and easy task, as the app's speed has also gone down quite a bit, possibly due to a decrease in storage after each update. Still, the app didn't take up that much space to begin with. I'll be deleting 5sGIF until I see better reviews. What a shame - this used to be great for blogging.

Used To Be Great!. I have used this app for over a year. I am a big sports fan and would make GIFs using this app and then upload and copy the URL, paste the URL into safari, click and hold on the gif and click copy. Then I would go into Fancred and paste the link and when posted it would play the gif. Now when I copy the URL into Fancred and post it it just shows a white screen with the URL at the bottom corner. I don't know what's up especially since it still has its .gif that it should have and has always worked. Once this issue is fixed I will change to 5 stars because this app rocks!

gifs were disappeared after update. I moved and stored some gifs from phone library into 5sGif app, however after update, Gifs are gone. I’ve just lost all my Gifs because of storing only on 5sGif app.

Good but always blurry!. This is a good app, my only complaint is that my gifs always come out blurry!

They Stopped Updating App. It converts Gif to a slower than Original version and that’s the Pro Add On! It occasionally stops rendering anything.

Fun apps. I just love this app.

Very easy to use... GIFs in seconds.. I have made a bunch of gif already to share via Sametime. Only thing I wish was an option was to be able to select size I want per creation instead of having to choose a default in settings. I found I kept having to go in and out of settings and recreating the same gif to get the size I wanted. I suggest just using smallest for iMessages. You can save them to photo album. They just don't move when you brows your photo album. This is a fault of apple not the developer.

When it works. It’s good when it works, but no matter what I do, most of the time it imports videos upside down.

All in all great app. However there's a huge issue when adding texts. You'll add the text, save it, but after you save it the quality of the gif drops tremendously. The gif you just made becomes so blurry you can't even read the words. If you're looking for a gif app to add texts, this is not the one. Would've given 2 stars, but I can't hate on the rest of the app. There's tons of already made gifs that you can download, and the function to create your own gifs from videos is great. Minus the text feature.

Crashes too much. This app works like a charm if you're okay with having small gifs. Being able to combine gifs is a useful feature that sadly has its limits. When the gif size is upscaled, the length of the gif is limited. I've tried making 20 seconds gifs in 480px yet sadly each time the app crashes. It's incapable of handling such a simple task. It's really a shame that this app can't handle that. If it could then it'd easily be 5 stars. However, the constant crashing prevents me from making the gifs I need. This needs to be fixed otherwise the app is essentially pointless unless you're okay with low quality, small gifs.

Sad update changes make ap useless. The newest update of this ap has a major flaw that tenders its use absolutely unusable. This used to be one of our favorite aps, for our photos, for events, for our kids, and we have even used it i advertising spots- all of that is now gone. The problem? The new version, when combining your photos, cuts off the bottom quarter of your shots. Doesn't seem like an issue? Try photos of a baby crawling on the ground in the context of a room, or as we tried just recently got a marine mammal client, an animal on the beach with standing humans above and around it. And no-you can't shift the screen. But even if you could you would've missing the point. You took the photos, you framed your content, your orchestrated your scenes-and you used to just easily and simply flip that into animation. No more.

Update. After I updated my iOS it won’t let me save the gifs I made to my camera roll. It is very frustrating. Otherwise I love the app and 5 stars for sure.

Good, but.... When I select background for text, there is no option to remove it. Had to delete app and reinstall. There is no scroll option for text. Other than that, pretty cool app.

By far the only and best GIF app. I've been searching for a GIF app for way too long. I've finally found the one. It does exactly what you want with no gimmicks or watermarks just to advertise themselves. I paid for the full version just to show my support even though I didn't need the extra features. I don't even normally take time to write reviews but I need to share my gratefulness. Thank youuuuuuuu

Ugh!. GIFs are blurry and low resolution. No good. Can’t use.

Easy and simple. However, it uses up lot of space when sent in imessages. Although this app links to many social apps such as fb, pinterest, and few more. This app provides its own space on a webpage with created url for per gif you create without having to worry where to archive all of your old GIFs that would chomp some of your drive's space. If you are a low key GiF maker who create few gifs per month then you should be fine. Above of all im an avid gif maker and i love this app. Give it some credit for i have seen updates coming as well as improvement.

Best gif maker, so far.. I've tried a ton of gif making apps and this one is the best, so far. However, there are a few improvements that must be made for 5 stars. 1) Adding text is a pain. You can only do one line at time with limited characters, forcing you to overlay, resize, create additional text, overlay again, resize again. Not only is this time consuming, but it's a guessing game on where to place text so it doesn't overlap on the gif and resizing to fit the prior laid text is a hassle. 2) Anytime text is added to a frame, it significantly reduces the quality of the entire gif. This is frustrating when trying to create high quality gifs and is simply unacceptable. 3) The editing tools lack basic image enhancing such as contrast, saturation, sharpness, hue, etc. Filters could also be better or just add more.

Ad support by NRA (NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION). Received ads from NRA (National Rifle Association) on more than one occasion. A bummer for apps to be accepting money from such divisive political sources. Will not use anymore, and I’ve asked all my friends to do the same.

Good app, but bad quality in the gifs.... I really like this app, it provides a lot of gifs from a lot of people. My only problem with it is that I installed this app to make gifs. And I do make them, but when I'm done making one, it has a really really bad quality. The videos and pics I used to make them have a really good quality, but when I make the gifs, they don't have that good quality my vids and pics have... I would really appreciate it if you guys fix this problem. This app would be amazing if you do. I hope you guys do something about it, and keep up the good work.

New update. Can’t pinch to make text smaller. Not so good. More glitchy than the last one was. Still the same problem exists with the last 2 iOS 14 updates. The smallest you can make a word of text is still huge and takes over the whole gif. Please fix please

Can’t make gifs with immediate media. I want to make a gif out of a couple pics or video I recently took. Nope. You won’t be able to use media that was taken in the last three hours. Horrible.

I like this app but.... This app is a great app to make animated gifs and upload them onto tumblr and all of that but a complaint is that every time at tap, "Make video" it lets me make a video and then just doesn't do anything. I make the video, it lets me play it before an get it made into a gif and it just stays there and won't let me exit or load my video into a gif. Please fix this. And just a suggestion, let me upload this gifs into Instagram maybe? I don't really care but I love to show my gifs! So my only complaint is that it stops when I tap, "Make video".

Powerful. Crashes more often than it used to but still an incredibly powerful free app. Wish it would go back to previous iteration of frame edit view, when I could rotate my phone to change thumbnail size and frames weren’t cropped to fill thumbnail space.

My Review. Best piece of software on my iPhone. Well gaia is up there too but this is great.

Won't let me share my gifs. This would be an amazing app if it would actually let me share any of my gifs that I have made. Please fix this and I will use it all the time.

Best gif making app out there. I've tried so many gif making apps on iOS. But they have all ended in tears. On an iPhone it can be a little fiddly but by far this is the best and most easiest to use. No need to sign up to anything, just grab your video clip from within the app, pick the play length and frame rate and you're done. There's also a decent selection of filters and text that can be overlaid on the gif for extra style etc. I played with this for about one day before shelling out for the paid version. It allows you to include 10seconds of video and removes the adds. Well worth it!

Best gif maker ever. Easy to use with a lot of features that give a lot of control over the end product. I’ve used a lot of gif makers but none other have a larger range of features. And the updates are regular keeping the app improving. I’d love to be able to select and save a series of gifs to camera roll rather than one at a time, but other than that this is impressive.

Works well. App works as described, easy as, no dramas. Used a video from my library (app is only good for gifs under 5 seconds) 👍

Satisfied. I wanted to turn a 5 second video I had previously taken into a gif, it did what I needed it to do, downloaded a bunch of other gif makers that didn't do this so I'm satisfied that I got the result I wanted

Love it. Great app very easy to use but when you save the gif to your phone they don't move just like when you take them from tumblr so you need to get an app like picplaypost once you put the gif through there they then save as a video

Won't save as gif. won't save in camera roll as a gif it just comes up as one Frame Image, makes the app pointless and a waste

Crashing Problem. After I finished making my gif, the 'Saving' bar loads to the end and the whole app crashes. This problem never happened to me until today. I have an iPhone 3GS with IOS 6.1.6

Excellent App!. I had downloaded 10 or so gif maker apps, and this was by far the best! Very easy to use and with great options. It would be nice to have an easy file size changer feature. Otherwise perfect.

Good but issues. It's a great app for converting your Gifs into videos, but I hate hate hate hate that it doesn't save your gifs in (MOV) form sometimes, this never used to happen and I would love it if you fixed it somehow

GOD I LOVE THIS APP!. I use this ALL the time! It's really good for stitching Live Photos together to make little movies. It specifically asks if you want to load your Live Photos. You can make a gif then add it on to another and so on and so on. Easy to use and saves in a few different formats.

Almost perfect. The app is fantastic and easy to use and keeps the quality in tact. My only wish is that when adding text there was an orientation button for if you want the text cantered or in each corner ect and also the ability to have more characters allowed in the text box, otherwise it’s a perfect app!

Bad outside of the app. Great app if you are viewing the gifs you created inside the app. Once you export to your photo album the quality is horrible. Almost unwatchable. Useless for posting to tumblr because of this.

Best gif maker. Ive tried many gif makers and this easily is the best. Can also upload to clipboard and post URL anywhere. Exactly what I wanted.

Does it says without the Social Media hassling!. Excellent app! All I want is an animated gif and it does the job! Only caveat is I wish you could edit within the video file. Instead it takes the first 5 seconds of the video you wanna convert. Workaround is editing/splicing your video clip in iMovie first and then using this app to create your gif.

The WORST. This is literally the worst app I've ever gotten on the AppStore. It works 0% of the time. Don't waste your time.

Great app, but low quality gifs. Does exactly what it claims to do and is user friendly. What's missing though is an option to pick a final file weight (in Kb or Mb) to strive for. Right now, we can pick the gif width and the frame rate, but the higher end options lower visual quality. The banding is horrendous. I'd rather have heavier files, but full quality gifs. The ideal solution would be to be able to select a "high quality" setting and a maximum gif weight, letting the app convert the images according to that. So, for example, if I selected "high quality" and inputted a 2Mb maximum weight, I'd get the best visual quality possible for a file that size. It would also be great for the cropping options to let us pick proportions (similarly to what can be done in the camera roll) and apply them to the whole gif at once since the cropping window is *tiny* and it's really hard to eyeball appropriate proportions. Finally, the app systematically crashes after 36 frames, meaning even though I paid for the full version, it's not possible to make a gif of up to 10 seconds.

Best gif app!. This is one of my favorite app because it is one of the few that allow you to add text, although you can only add one text at a time (I.e. Saving the gif then adding text for one line, then saving that and adding the other) it's still a start. You guys should keep up with the updates cause this app is great!

I love everything except. This is the fastest and easiest app ever to make gifs. Instead of having to go on a laptop to make gifs, I can just lay in bed and do it on my iPod. The only thing I would like a change from are the text. I wish we weren't limited on how much we can write. Or if we have to be limited, I wish we can write more on our gifs.

Fun but buggy. It seems to be a little buggy and crashes every once in awhile. Also, it would be nice if you could delete the gif from within that gif rather than having to go to the main page and tap select before the trash can icon appears.

This is the best on ios. Okay first of all I'm a tumblr user and this is AMAZING at uploading it to tumblr. It lets you select from your album (photo or video) or just let's you make your own. I'm going to use this a whole bunch and keep up the great work guys!

A great app until IOS8. I was turning out great gifs using my own photos to the point where things were really catching fire, that is, until iOS8 came along and now adding text to my own photos while creating gifs doesn't work anymore, please fix!!! This was my favorite app until this problem...

Excellent GIF Creator. I adore this app. It's simple to use but very high quality. You can do almost everything without paying (and no watermark) but I paid to upgrade anyway to support this great app. I use it very often and make the best gifs in less than a minute. A million stars!!

Great. Filters. Easy to use. The developer keeps updating it. I surely appreciate the continued effort to make it even better. Easy to upload to Tumblr too. Thanks much. Oh. Maybe if the speed had numbered increments so you know how to take it back to normal (0) again if you wanted to.

Don't bother. App is crashing when editing Specifically when making the gif adjusting the speed once I go to save the gif. it takes a long time, about minute or 2 then it crashes without saving anything I had previously done. App needs a major update to compete with some out there it could run a lot smooth navigate a lot better & crash a lot less

Works Great, Many Features. Can make your own gifs from photos or videos in your library or edit existing gifs. Make them quicker or slower. Delete frames. Add effects. Rotate and flip. Best gif editor I've come across.

Horrible quality. Well I love the app and I'm so happy I finally found an app where I could save the frames. But it seems the quality is just terrible. And when I download and great quality video and make a gif and put it in, it looks weird with all of the good quality clips

Best gif-making app!. Can make gifs from videos and multiple pictures uploaded! add filters on the gif, see individual frames, even add annotations! it also stores all the gifs you've ever made in it and they're easily accessible.

Perfect. Does its job well and easily. There's a bug that makes the gif go really fast after editing it that is hilarious. I recommend not fixing it because once you click out it changes to what you edited it to.

Well.... You see how you got four stars...if you want that fifth one you're going to have to get rid of the excessive adds. EVERYTIME I click on a gif I have to watch some add for a product I'm not never going to use. Please get rid of this issue or at least make them less prevalent. It's annoying and taking away from its value.

Very convenient and fun!. I don't have time to sit in front of my laptop and make gifs all day but I really enjoy making them and this app gives me the chance. I post all my gifs I make from this app on my blog to share and I'm getting better with each try.

❤. Great App! If you want to upload to tumblr without using a link. Go to your settings and somewhere it will see an email address with random numbers and letters. Email you gif to that address and it will show up on your tumblr.

Needs a few extra things. Works ok to simply create a low quality animated gif from a SHORT video. For longer videos you need to trim it in another app first or it will hang. It would be nice to have control over the gif quality. It converts at really low resolution with no adjustment available. Gifs have no sound but even if you export as a video clip the sound has been removed. Add quality control, pre-trimming and sound for video clips and it would be 5 star.

Best Gif Editing App!. One could create entirely new gifs, edit existing gifs, or combine them. They also do not stick an ugly logo on the gifs. You can also save directly to your photo album. Edit: Still great, with more options!

Finally time to write a review. It's insane (in a really good way) how devoted this small app's creator is, releasing a steady flow of updates about once a month for what has probably been years now. That kind of devotion gets an instant 5-star rating.

Mostly good, some kinks. Very easy and fun. I give it 3 stars instead of 4 because it will sometimes crash upon rendering. I would have given it 5 stars instead of 4 because I want to add more text at a time than it permits, which can be tedious. Also, not sure if it's good or bad, it "saves as" every time you make a change which mean lots of similar looking copies - could get confusing.

export to camera roll?. I love this app because it has everything I need to make a great quality gif and they export 1080 quality everytime and I love it but I wish that when I export it the changes I made to the GIFS would be there too, like if the gif is originally 3 seconds long and I speed it up to 1 second and export it- it goes back to the 3 second long video and I would like it if I could export my changes to the gif thank you :)

Crashes but very useful. Love the features of this app enough that I paid to have ads removed. However it regularly crashes on my iPhone 6 when trying to save large edited gifs. Hopefully this is fixed in an upcoming update.

It actually works. I stumbled upon an app that had no reviews, but downloaded it to check it out. It easily and quickly creates a gif that you can then export. It does exactly what I expected it to, more easily than I expected to be able to, plain and simple. 5 stars.

Great app but.... This is a great app but please make it so you can select more pictures for the picture gif. This would be great. That is all this app needs is the ability to have longer gifs with more frames!

add Audio!. this app would be so good if you could have the audio! I downloaded a app that lets you take vines off of vine and places it into your gallery. I bought the 10 second version hoping to mix both of these apps to make audio gifs on ifunny. but I don't think it will work it be as funny without the Audio! so please add audio. great app though

Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. This app converts short clips of videos to gifs. (You can also make two or more pics into a gif, if you want.) You have filters, can change the speed, crop the gif, and many other things. This app never freezes and it always quick. I love it.

Update it works on newer iPad Air 2Can't use larger videos anymore after first few versions. I used to use this app all of the time. Was the best absolutely, hands down. I do like most of the improvements. What I don't like, is the inability to use longer videos. This used to not be a problem with older versions of the app..used to open all videos..now if they are longer than 5-8 minutes..they won't open. For me, that's a major flaw. Please developer, if you can.

Easy on the eyes and on the mind. The only thing I can think of changing is making the frame viewer also drag and drop frames into different spots. I like how it puts the file size on the info for each gif too. No crashes yet, and ads aren't too bad.

Video quality mediocre. Clear pictures become a blurry animated mess. This would be a great app if this could be addressed. I have to go on my laptop on Giphy in order to make clearer animated gifs. Still waiting for a phone app that can make a clear looking gif and will play on FB. It's like waiting for Godot.

Works great for me. Just started using this app. Worked for exactly what I need it for to make simple easy gifs. So far no limit on how many I can make so I'm happy. Good quality gifs for messaging and easy to use. Few ads sure but it's free. I'm very happy so far! I'll play with the features more and very possibly pay to support the developers!

Best Gif Opening and Making App. I've been through tons of gif apps and this is by far the best I've found. You can make your own gifs with saved images or videos, or you can open gifs saved in your camera roll and store them in the app.

GIF Maker. Well, I am pretty sure I am using it correctly but it doesn't work the same way each time. It wasn't taking ALL of my 2 second videos so I took the plunge and paid the dollar! No more ads but still works buggy. U go to view other people's GIFS and you can see that people make GIFS with up to 50 frames per second. For some reason, AFTER PAYING, I STILL only have the highest at a lousy 15 frames per secon and it still won't take all of my 2 second videos! So far, a waste of a dollar!

Better text options. This app is really user friendly, but the text overlay needs some work. It would help if the text could be outlined instead of just changing the background color. It can be hard to keep text from blending into the background.

About exporting to vid. At curtain intervals of the time bar, have it show how long the gif/vid will last when you export, not only see what it lasts on the home screen but while you're editing the speed.

Awesome. If you want just an awesome gif app, to search, to save, and maybe make some little ones, this is it. If you are gonna cry about the ads then pay the developer the 2 bucks. Not that hard and not that much!

Very good. This is the only video to gif converter in the app store that actually makes pretty good gifs that aren't too choppy. You can change the speed of the gif and you can change the quality of the gift in settings as well.

You're in control. It delivers.. This app makes gifs. It's excellent. If you simply want to make a gif for your own purposes, this is what you're looking for. No account needed, zero proprietary online requirement. It quickly makes .gif files out of photos and video you select from your Photo Album, and saves back to the Album. It's immediate, simple, usable. It's about the gif that you want to create, not about what the creators of the app want you to do for them, which causes me to actually WANT to look at who advertises with them, to help them out. exactly what I wanted. this app is exactly what I wanted! it's really easy to use and you can use videos/pictures from your camera roll. it's great for beginners and is really easy to save GIFs to camera roll

Nice. Love this app . Definitely the best one . I suggest that you give people choices of size of gif . I like bigger ones and you increased the size but with last update they seem to be small again . And would love to see a crop video feature . All in all .best app ever .i use it everyday all day for tumblr . I totally recommend this app for gif . Best one by far

Crash when using an effect. Great app for making/editing GIFs. easy to use n takes little time to make or edit a gif. However i have noticed when using a GIF that is atleast 1.4s long with the reverse tool it crashes every time i try to upon saving or setting the speed.

video editors, listen up!. i am part of many fandoms and for a while i never knew how to make amazing video edits until now. i had the basic app, but they were never too good because the gifs were too slow. now, this app lets you literally speed up and slow down gifs and easily save them onto your camera roll, perfect for video edits and getting the synchronization that you will love. the only thing that could be fixed is being able to speed up fps past its limit. i definitely reccomend this app for any video editors out there who need faster gifs. thanks for reading and enjoy your power nerds.

Search feature not working. The last couple weeks I run searches and it says no results found.

Works great!. If you do download this app I recommend buying premium because you can make longer gifs and it removes ads. You can browse gifs from giphy, make 5 second gifs from photos or videos in your camera roll, and save/send them.

It's okay.... ⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's a really smooth app! I love how easily you can change the speed, and how you can import pictures, unlike any other stop motion apps. But, I DO NOT like how I can't put the video on my camera roll, and how it only saves one little picture from the stop motion I created, not the whole video.

Awesome app!. No problems for me, it includes a video to gif, select photos to a gif, and you can edit gifs that you have already made. Great if you want to import pictures for a stop motion video without having to buy it.

💕. This app is super helpful to make GIFs and share them around. I like that I can see others' GIFs now. Just a few things to help make it better, though What I've been wanting since I downloaded this app is a filing system. I make a lot of GIFs on this, all of them that can be situated into organized folders to keep track of. This would be so great to have. When I downloaded a pre-made GIF that was around 120 frames and attempted to edit it, the app always crashed when I tried to save it. I keep trying to delete frames to shorten it, because that's what I thought was making it crash each time, but nothing I did helped. Please fix?

I found a bug but overall it's a good app. In the app it will work for a while and I am able to create and watch the gif, but when I hit the button that allows for Saving it to my camera roll it crashes. It has done this repeatedly and still won't let me save any gifs I have made.

Great app. This app is honestly the best app for making GIFS. Not only does it make a gif for you, but it can even write text on your gif, and also give it a filter. This app is above and beyond from what I was expecting. Five stars, without a doubt. I was not disappointed.

Not Private!. No disclosure that this app's GIF creation was web-based and upon creation (not upon sharing) your GIFs would NOT simply exist on your iDevice but would automatically be put on the developer's website, available to the developer/anyone who comes across the link or with whom the developer chooses to share. Developer has not advised of any means to delete *your* GIF creations from his website. Tracking of submitters/creations? Do not use if you have any privacy concerns ... converting that funny personal family video clip could result in EVERYONE'S funny GIF.
