Cheaper than the CDS. Great app! Cheaper than the CD, easier to keep up with, and will not wear out unless they decide to not upgrade with each new ios. I have used it for almost a year. Create custom playlist and such. I enjoy the voice of Scourby.

MISLEADING. When this update was coming, I thought it would be for the iPad and iPhone. It is only for iPad. Also, I didn't know you need to pay monthly for the backups. With so many people having this app, why do you need to pay monthly for backups? A better option would be to create an account that lets you sign in and sync with devices. There needs to be information in the apps description about IN-APP PURCHASES.

Don't waste money. This was a nice app, but I purchased this app for my wife it loads as "you bible" not even the same UI. Plus a lot of bible reading ads and add on suggestions with other clutter. She just uninstalled it. She already has a bible app. Wasted my $20.

Wonderful!. This app is very easy to use and beautifully designed. It perfectly compliments the majesty of the King James Version and Alexander Scourby's immaculate voice! Very highly recommended!

Common sense and always works. This app is the best bible app I’ve ever used. Are use it all the time, even when I am in the air because it always works as the full audio is downloaded onto my iPad. That’s a large amount of audio, but the benefits are obvious. Highlighting tool, the automatic text scrolling as it is read, the note taking feature, etc all work flawlessly. I only wish this was available for other translations!

Understand This!. You will pay $20 to download to your phone. If you also want it on your iPad, you will pay another $20. If you buy a new phone, you will pay another $20! On top of this, you must pay for certain extras. Scourby is great! It’s the seller who is making exorbitant profits. The sellers of this software do not have spreading the Word as their 1st priority. Makes me wonder if they have the right to sell Scourby’s recording.

Fantastic program. I had been searching for an audio Bible for sometime. They either played music in the background that was very distracting from the reading or the narrator pronunciation was incorrect. Scourby’s reading is one of the best that I have heard. I especially like the way the verses are highlighted when and will scroll as Scourby is reading them. If one does not wish the scrolling that can be turned off. The font can be adjusted to one’s liking. You can make notes, bookmark verses or chapters. It has a way to set up a reading schedule and daily verses. All in all a fantastic program. I would highly recommend this.

Absolutely LOVE this!. Not only is this a wonderful app, (I listen to it everyday) it’s also managed by a really awesome team. Very quick and helpful with their responses to my questions. For example, I play the app when I travel and also at night and thought it would be a great idea to have a timer of sorts. I suggested it to them some time ago and they responded that they would give it some thought. When they added the functionality, they sent me another email to let me know. I have lost count of how many people I’ve told about my love for this app. What a blessing! Thank you for all you do. May God continue to bless you and your families as you continue His work. Scouby Bible HD. I have had it for many months on my Ipad. I also purchased it on my Ipod. I love it. Scouby reads and the verse he is reading is highlighted and scrolls down by itself--unbelievable. I listen to it when I am going to sleep also and it is playing when I wake up. Great buy.

Bad update!. I've had this app for over a year and used it everyday. Now they have done an update and it won't even download. Please fix. This is the best audio bible app out there.

Noise on the Audio portion. This app has a serious problem with static noise on the audio portion. It was so bad that I had to remove the app from my iPad.

Back up and restore problems. My ipad pro says active but yet presents an invalid icloud error. Beware the owner has excluded all of usprevious owners of backup features forcing us to rebuy for the ipad, when this was not the case. Greed unchecked reigns...

If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It!. By the time I got the app, it worked beautifully. They gave it a recent update, and removed some of the words. Also, now, for the first time, we’ve experienced the words garbling. They’ve also speeded up the pause between chapters so that you have to be really on your toes if your daily reading does not include the next chapter. Why speed it up? No reason, and it sounds stupid. Why eliminate the endings to all the books? Compared to the original recording it just sounds tacky. Why does it occasionally no longer function properly? Not only will the recording be garbled in spots, but it will even suddenly bounce you out of the app altogether, and you’re just looking at the app screen on the phone. Please, folks! Give me back the app that I paid for. Best of all, sell the original recordings to Olive Tree, and they’ll do it right! ETA: I was going to rave that they apparently fixed it, although there remained a few bugs. But when I went back to the app to try to open it again on my iPhone, it kept quitting again. At least on the iPad the sound is a bit more even, if occasionally garbled. I hope they get it right — Alexander Scourby’s reading of the Bible is the best there is out there.

Don’t Panic if app crashes. My app crashed this morning and support was quick to respond. It turned out that the problem was not with the app but with my compromised iPad. All I did was reinstall the app, turned off the iPad and did a reboot. That cleared my iPad of whatever was causing the app to crash. I am back using the app now without any problem. Here is the instruction I got from support: 1. Delete your app. 2. Turn your device off, reboot and do a soft reset to clear out your cache. You hold down two buttons for 10 seconds. Google if you don't know how to do a soft reset. 3. Then re-download the Bible app from the app store. 4. Make sure the cellular Data is turned off in the Bible App. The app doesn't need wifi of cell data to work, it's totally self-contained within the app. If the above doesn't work then do Scott's fix which will require a back of your data to the cloud and then redownloading your data. If the above does not solve your problem, please drop them a line, they respond quickly.

Scourby Bible HD. Would love to have this bible with a timer added for all us night time listeners. This would make it a five star rating for me. Am very thankful to have this KJV Bible in audio by Alexander Scourby.

WOW!!!. This is one incredible APP and I wish I could give it 10 stars. I never heard of Alexander Scourby until I heard him on your site. The Chicago Tribune is absolutely right, he does have the greatest voice ever recorded. The APP features are perfect and I really like the search feature and use it all the time for Bible study. Being able to hear and read at the same time adds meaning and new clarity....and that voice is so majestic and just brings the Bible alive. Thanks for a Great JOB and Great APP.

Great App!. This is a great app and very worthy of the purchase. The cost is worth it when one thinks of the hundreds of hours of recording and Mr. Scourby's hard work. PLEASE don't let the negative review drive you away - simply put the buyer plainly did not read that there is an iPad version and an iPhone version! It is obvious anger motivated the negative review. I had to respond as a Pastor and tell you the iPad version is worth it.

Best KJV Bible Abb. In my opinion, this is the very best (KJV) King James Version Bible app going. No speaker or reader of the King James Bible is better than Alexander Scourby. My personal opinion.

iPAD APP is Perfect!. Just downlaoded the new iPAD APP and it is great. I had put my iPHONE APP on my iPAD and it had worked but was small. It was the same size as it was on my iPhone. This new iPAD APP takes up the entire iPAD screen and is perfect. Now I have Scourby Bible Apps for both my iPHONE and iPAD. Now I am waiting for a Scoury Bible App for my desk and lap top. I hope a computer Bible App will be out soon. Once the desk and lap top computer Bible App is out I will never have to wonder, if while I am traveling, I will be able to listen to the Word as narrated by Alexander Scourby. Hearing Scourby read the Word is the best. It is a blessing every time I hear Scourby's narration of the Word. I don't know what I would do without it.

What happened?????. It worked just fine, but now it opens and immediately closes. I don’t get it. I hate to have to buy it again. I used to rate it 5, and even bought it for others, but now it’s worthless. Finally, after downloading twice, it seems to be working, but I HATE the pause between verses. Wish I had the option to turn that off.

HD is way better on the IPad. This HD version is a full screen Bible like looking into your Bible book compared to the original version for the iPhone. I have both version and the HD is a must have for your iPad. I wish they would do a software update to add the ability to use different colors to highlight verses and be able to save it so you can turn this into a study bible.

Wonderfully designed and filled with lots of great features!. This is one of the most comprehensive and user friendly Bible apps that I have used. I had the very first edition of the Scourby Bible App because I grew up listening to him read the Bible on cassette tapes! It now lives on both my iPhone and iPad. I am a busy adult college student working part time with my church as well as working in the military. This app allows me to fill my mind with the word of God outside of my quite time alone with him. Extremely easy to navigate and use, has a great look and a wonderful sound quality. I have set up many playlists within seconds. A handy repeat function helped me to memorize some verses for a class I was taking at THE Ohio State. The team that keeps this app up to date has done an outstanding job. If you have a suggestion or question, they communicate quickly. I have suggested this app to several friends and they love it as well. Two thumbs aloft for this app!

From good to great to thieves. First, they stopped updating the app and forced me to buy the upgrade from 2.3 to 4.0. It already cost me $20. Now I've paid twice. Then after using the upgraded app for past few weeks they disable the speed control and force you to pay another $5 to turn it back on! I have bought so many Alexander Scourby recordings over the years and then paid the ridiculous price of $20 to purchase the app- not once but twice now, and then they turn off features of the app that I purchased weeks ago! This is definitely not very Christian like.

Will not update or play. This will not play now that I updated this is on my IPad.. What now.

I Love This App!. I think the newly updated version of this app is fantastic. I can’t think of any cons whatsoever. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s interested.

DON’T PURCHASE. $20 is the INITIAL charge. The variable speed audio is not included even though the icon is shown in their pictures. $20 is just to download the app. You pay for all the “extras!” This app has nothing special unless you need to the voice of Scourby, which is still MP3 quality. I am now using the original app that I downloaded previously. Don’t let their marketing fool you. You get no refunds from them!

IPad and IPhone Scourby Bible. I have made profitable and regular use of the Audio Bible read by Alexander Scourby for over 40 years. In my judgment, Scourby is the best reader available in the English language. I am very pleased now to see the availability of this program for IPhone and IPad. Scourby is the best. I’m in my 60s. Over the years I’ve had the “Scourby” Bible on cassette tape, cd’s, and a few years ago I got the app—-the best by far. Scourby reads so beautifully. I know there are more “accurate” translations but I love the poetic language of the King James Version—especially in the Psalms. I even enjoy listening to Scourby read all the genealogies in the book of Numbers. His diction is so clear he makes all those hard to pronounce names a thing of beauty. I also like the fact that there’s no mediocre music in the background. The app is sooo easy to use. So much better than the cd’s. I fall asleep listening to Alexander Scourby every night. I love the timer on the app, too. I have been blessed beyond measure having Scourby read to me.

UPDATE APP. STOP BEING A DEADBEAT DEVELOPER. App has needed an update for the last 3 years.

I bought the app in my iPad thinking that I can use it for my IPhone too as I did with other apps. Unfortunately, customer service agents from Apple told me that is for ipad. Do have to order for the iPhone and pay the another $20 bucks?That is really nonsense.

Extremely Poor. I have contacted the Dev’s about the horrible sound quality, and it really is horrible. I would not recommend this app to anyone, you can do much better. The app itself is great, good tools and good research ability, but the sound the thing you want right the most is just gone. The scourby sound we all knew and trusted is simply tinny and has strange noises that are not natural, sounds like someone doing something in the background, not sure if its the recording team doing something as they redid part or the audio, it is just bad. The dev told me well over 2 years now he was 2-3 months away from upgrading this with much higher sound quality, I have given up, its all a lie on the devs part, they could care less they get your money and that is all he cares about. I no longer trust or expect this app to be upgraded at all. Please do not by at all stay away and look for the original cd’s of scroby and make your own re-recording onto something like an ipad or other device to play whenever you want to. Just do not by this app.
