Great App. Incredibly clean and simple and robust!

Finally. In 1991 I visited Paris with high hopes of seeing the artwork in the louvre. My dreams were crushed because the workers were on strike and the museum was closed. Now instead of planning and paying for another trip, I can just see the artwork from my phone. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but far more reliable than French museum workers.

Almost better than being there. I went to the louvre a few months ago and saw some great pictures but many were too high on the wall or had reflections or glaring light from windows on them. These pictures have none of these problems. I love this app and its sister apps. There are a few duplicates and some that were doctored color or brightness to try and fix poor images but on the whole you can't find better. You can even download HD images.

Beautiful!. I’ve always dreamt of visiting Louvre, and this app just made that dream slightly a reality. The painting are beautiful! I can’t wait to lose myself in this beautifully designed app.

What a gift. I can hardly believe that for such a small entry fee, I have the Louvre at my fingertips. Beautiful HD images that I can even zoom in. They really make the most of this retina screen. If I want, I can pick a century, start a slideshow or page through the entire collection at my own speed, or go to the thumbnail views and select individual works. If I put on some music at the same time, it even adds to the experience - beautiful.

Excellent but incomplete. Gorgeous rendering of stunning paintings. Easy to use. But almost zero information about the paintings, which is a disappointment.

Outstanding. I know I will probably never visit the Louvre (I hate crowds), and this feels as good as being there, by myself. I especially love the feature of being able to download very high resolution images of the ones I especially love. Bravo!

Professor. Many of the images are excellent quality; downloadable and good enough for art history lectures.

Needs info. Since I may never make it to the Louvre in person, this app is a great way to browse the art. I only wish there was information about the pieces. I keep finding myself switching to my browser to research interesting images. I would increase rating if you could provide information directly in the app (or at least a direct link to the info on the web). Also lost some stars because of the ridiculous number of pop-ups asking for a five-star rating. I can't rate it until I have a chance to really use it.

Most pleasurable. Lovely to spend time with.

Crappy. Image quality is uneven and mostly poor. Paintings seem to have been chosen by someone who knows nothing about art and who has no idea which paintings are the most important. So most of the important paintings are missing in favor of mediocre ones. There are two or more images of some paintings, none reproduced well. Looks like someone photographed these out of a library book.

Just a bunch of pictures. I wanted a tour guide, not a photo collection. No descriptions included.

Louvre. This is a beautiful app. The colors and details are great. Personally, I found it informative because it inspired me to look up information about the portraits and art that I was viewing in my iPad. I like that it was presented by century and allowed the viewer to move between centuries and view the details in the masterpieces being presented. Thank you.

Excellent begining. Beautiful images, a lot better than a real visit to the cluttered museum. Otherwise, as yet almost no information on most of the paintings... Also I am sure an app on the marvelous sculptures in the Louvre would be a real threat.

I have been to the Louvre three times. If I can’t be at the Louvre, I can sit in my living room with a cup of coffee and have no crowds! I can look closely at tons of artwork in high resolution. Gratitude!

The best app on my phone. HD color and a wide compendium of art that can be accessed by artist,genre, or type. This is the app for a quiet moment of balance and reflection.

Great pictures but little other info.. If you are just looking for a slideshow of photos this is great. If you are looking to learn background information and history of pieces and artists this is not the app for you.

Outstanding. Bought a new generation IPad in order to study paintings. This Louve App will blow you away. I'm still in the 15th and 16th Cent. Get this and the Durer app

To those that will listen, n those who need to:. Wish there were more art history/images/library apps in general. However this for the most part, only includes western art, christian art, paintings, works that r always shown n talked about in your general art history survey class. It would b far better if it included at least a bit of everything this museum houses, especially some modern, contemporary, and most of all work by WOMYN and FEMINIST art - we need to start somewhere, why not with this giant museum. Maybe more would follow... We could protest if all else fails!!!

Just crashes upon opening on latest iPadOS. On my iPad Pro on the latest iPadOS the app just immediately crashes when opened.

Like the Louvre itself: You’ll never see it all.. This is a genuinely excellent app. Being the museum in real life is of course a once-in-a-lifetime (if that) experience for most people. And I recommend it. Duh. But if you’ve spent time there, this app will enrich your good fortune. You’ll relive the experience without the swarms of selfie-takers. And if you never get there, you’ll still have access to a well-executed digital window on much of the western world’s masterpieces. I was planning to return to Paris and the Louvre in a few months, but the pandemic changed that. For now, this is a worthy substitute.

Like being there. Being able to view, expand, spend time with each and every painting, is just like being in the Louvre itself. I especially am partial to Canaletto, and now have the time to study his work in detail. Being an Architect, I am intrigued by his ability to capture perfect perspective. And do not get me started with the skin tones of Rubens. And the absence of glare on the Mona Lisa is just one more plus this at-home venture brings.

Louvre HD. Beautiful stylisation coupled with crisp resolution and smooth functionality. Well worth the space on your hard drive or device. It's extremely calming to view art on the go. A busy day broken up with the peace only quality art can deliver.

I LOVE IT. What a great app! It's a wonderful way of viewing these magnificent treasures, short of actually being there. The Retina display on the iPad really comes into its own here. It would be good if there were a way of limiting viewing to either portrait-mode or landscape-mode paintings when running a slide show, as portrait-orientated paintings don't display so well when the iPad is held in landscape view and vice versa.

Le louvre. I really am enjoying admiring so many historic paintings and the work of genius'. The classical music is an added wonderful feature... I'm not really into that type of music but it is beautiful and so relaxing! 🎨🎹🎶

Great detail. There are HD versions of the paintings that have very good detail. Some more background and history points of each piece would be a great addition.

Amazing Paintings. The interface leaves a bit to be desired, but the painting them selves are presented in the highest quality possible and are stunning to look at. Everyone should get this app and spend time looking at these great paintings

Finally a truly enjoyable app. I love looking at art up close. I would enjoy even more, some info or facts about the artist and painting. I like the music option but a few more pieces would be better. An exciting new app that I will spend a lot of time with.

Louvre paintings on AppleTV. Just what one needs to bring a different type of class to your living room: Louvre paintings being displayed on Apple TV. The app seems to work reasonably well. I would like to see some write ups on what it is we are seeing in the paintings though.

Information wanted. The paintings are beautiful but I would love to be able to read some information on each as well. I would also love to see a walkthrough of the buildings architecture and other works.

Good, simple and needs work. I like this app, but it needs more love. Just have two suggestions: a) remove poor quality repeated paintings, also whatever the standard resolution is (not HD) some paintings look great, some soft. b) Can we please have more info about a painting and the artist? I have another Louvre app from years ago that give lots of info, but no high quality versions. Thanks!

Marvelous presentation. The artwork is amazing. Love the ability to designate favorites and filter by artist. The only thing missing for me is the ability to control the slide show - change the timing and possibly add transitions.

Good. Could be better.. Is a good app. Decent photos, but not a lot of information about the photos. I'd like to read about more history of the paintings, about the artists, about the museum... Or maybe it's there and I haven't found it yet. I'd also like it to return to the spot you left off, after you select a painting to view.

Please add more. I was hoping for info on the Egyptian exhibit and other exhibits. Pictures of statues located through out. Info on items available at the gift shop. A slide show perhaps! The app. does list all the artists and their work by the century in which they were created. It's a very reference.

Don't ruin. I have loved this Ap- as an art historian. But I noticed a lot of the newly added images have no information (artist, medium, date) and this is hugely disappointing. I don't need just a google image- I want actual content from the museum! Please don't dumb down this Ap.

Some beautiful paintings. I wish the pictures had background info made available. It would also be great if you could zoom in on the pictures to a greater degree.

Next best thing to being there. If you can't get there this is fabulous! Would like to see other kinds of art if possible.

Good for schoolwork. As a teacher, I like to be able to click in and see am image that helps bring dusty textbooks to life.

If You Can't Get to France..... This is the next best thing to entering the Louvre. Plus art is shown one might not encounter on any given day at the museum. So, from far away, stuck in DC, USA its a sweet gift.

Backlit Classics. The paintings look stunning on the iPad's backlit HD screen. I know of no better way to enjoy art! This, not watching movies or playing games, is what the device was made for...

Surprising Quality. I've been looking for great quality pictures for a long time now. I hope other museums follow this example with their works of art. These make great desktop art.

Very good.. Paintings all excellent. Loss of a star for a somewhat glitchy interface. Also wish they had a feature to hide paintings you don't want to see.

Eye Candy for the Artist Within. A delight to enjoy on a quality screen. Great for anyone fortunate enough to go to the actual museum, or a consolation for those unable to get there. I look forward to updates!

Louvre app. I have found the app most interesting to use. We went to Paris In 2001 for a brief stay. This brings it to me. I can access more paintings at home than I saw there!

Wonderful Application. This is the best application for enjoying the paintings of Louvre. You can easily post any picture on your Facebook page. It is not expensive and worth every penny.

Art and music. The art is beautiful and a great quality. My favorite part is the 20 classical songs. I listen to them 24/7. If you love classical art and music, you must get this app! You won't be disappointed.

Learning to love art. What a treat to be able to have great art available on my phone to brighten waiting for a doctor apt, waiting in line at the store, etc

Miraculous!. I love this app! When I have a few minutes, instead of playing a mindless game, I look at beautiful artwork. I can spend hours studying the pictures. When I went to the Louvre, I had to rush through and be in competition with a thousand other tourists. Now, it's all mine, alone.

Review. Wow, I able to look at and study the best of the best of the best sitting in my easy chair at home. It's amazing the clarity the detail and artistry that you have in front of you to look at and study at your leisure.

Marvelous paintings. It is certainly a treat to be able to look at these photographs of such beautiful paintings. The selection is marvelous. My one regret is that the app doesn't seem to provide any information about the paintings other than their dimensions. Nonetheless, this one is well worth having.
