works perfectly. I have an iphone4 and have been waiting patiently for the iphone5 to finally get SIRI so I can make voice notes. I have a brand new iPad and have been using that and started looking for an app for my iPhone which would be much more convenient to use. I have paid for 1 year of Jott (not supported and went downhill fast) then 2 years of Reqall (should never have renewed because it wasn't great either) and decided that $.99 was the right price to try something else. THis app worked immediately and transcribed my english voice perfectly. I was able to copy and paste it into notes and I couldn't ask for more especially for < $1. Don't understand why another reviewer lost his dictations because you can see them as you speak them. I like the fact that I can pause and then continue when I am ready.

Frustrated. It doesn’t transcribe, at all. I purchased the base program, but to get it to work I was then told I had to buy the premium program, but that didn’t work either. A waste of my time, and money.

Unless I am missing something. I was really hoping to speak to my iPad to capture 40 pages of written notes into text. But, after capturing a paragraph, with voice recognition accuracy and speed that far exceeded my expectations, the app cut me off. It prompted to me choose whether to sent to email, edit, text, etc. then, it would not let me resume. I couldn't find a way to keep recording. I couldn't Email 40 pages of notes paragraph at a time, and I was in a time crunch. If it is my user error, some one please post what I did wrong.

Outstanding.. I have been using Dragon for my dictation requirements but I have been frustrated with the amount of editing required. Recently, I began using this application and I am amazed with its quality and accuracy. Almost no editing is required. Most if the time, I need do nothing but dictate and every word is presented exactly as said This is the application for those who need to get things done. The jury was out until they added the ability to stop the application, then begin the dictation again without losing content. This gives me the ability to stop and gather my thoughts before continuing dictation. This is, in my opinion, the best dictation software available for the iPhone and iPad. My only criticism is that it does not capitalize the first word of a new sentence. If the developers are able to correct that, this will be an easy five stars.

What the @&$!!!???. At first, I kept getting notifications for a flipping ad! I paid for this app... I shouldn't get ads. Then an update came out that said it would stop this from happening. Now I get notifications for nothing? It's not suppose to send me any notifications because I have that turned off! Plus... I never allowed notifications from the prompt asking if I would allow them in the first place. I am deleting this app because I won't use it because it's got me a bit paranoid. Is it one of those backdoor apps that connects to your phone that was on national news recently? Because that's only suppose to be a problem w/ the free apps. I don't like this.

Fine voice recognition, Evernote integration not great. The voice recognition seems decent (after brief testing). When sent to Evernote, the voice transcriptions are imported as .txt attachments, which do not appear to be searchable. You can copy the text from the "Edit" screen and paste it into an Evernote note, but at that point you might almost just as well have typed the note (if you're able to type, of course). This isn't necessarily a failing of this app, but it doesn't strike me as being an especially good solution for notetaking with Evernote.

An Addictive and Very Useful App. In order to illustrate the accuracy of this application, I am utilizing it to submit this particular review. I did; however, noticed a few connection errors, but it is still worth a five star rating. Works brilliantly with 3 to 4 sentence text messages, but if you are going to rely on this to replace your keyboard you may get a bit upset if you dictate an entire novel and it doesn't connect to your server.

Great app, great price!. My first attempt to record was interpreted flawlessly. A previous reviewer mentioned to read the help section. Having no experience with voice dictation software I found it does provide "need to know" information for those who care about appropriate punctuation and how to make it appear in your text. I am pleased with my 99 pennies spent!

Prints every word every time. No problems!! i quickly get mic. i think. i talk. i quickly get text and pause. And choice? what to do? with it? For Email? Or SMS? Lots of times, i simply select and copy all text. And talk some more. Then paste my first session. Keep doing this. Building my letters. All by voice. Then i choose what to do with it. Lots of times i put finished product into other neat apps. Like awesome notes. WHY TYPE ANYMORE A BUNCH OF TEXT? THINK FIRST? What your going to say? Then say it !! Say it, short and sweet!! Get to the point!! It's nice also you get to edit finish product.."IAM THE HEARTLAND OF AMERICA HER ONLY TRUE ECONOMY AND PEACE - QUIET SPACES WITH NATURAL LANDSCAPES" what else is there to voice.

EXCELLENT BUT LACKS IMPORTANT ABILITY.... Nice. Doesn't have the problems Dragon has, such as wiping out the entire screen if you try to capitalize a word or name by saying "CAP" . But, unless I'm doing something wrong, it lacks the very important ability to be able to continue adding more speech after you stop recording (to think about what you want to say next), instead of losing it all or having to copy, paste that part, and then going back again to start doing the rest of what you need to say. It also needs to give you much more time before it stops automatically at its limits.

Work like a charm. This is basically a dictation application. It will translate your voice into text form. Tried on the mandarin voice recognition and it really work. Just too bad we need to launch this app, speak something, then have to choose where do you want push the message to. It won't work directly at Facebook app or Message, you need to open this app then only can push the text to your desired app.

Excellent. First of all, I am using voice dictation to write this review. I want to give it 4.5 stars. But there is no 4.5 choice so I will be generous and give five stars. The application still make some mistakes but overall it is much much much better than Dragon speak. I use Dragon Speak for my desktop computer. But for the iPhone it made too many mistakes. Since I had Voice Dictation, I deleted Dragon Speak. I suggest that the programmer of Voice Dictation enable us to dictate wherever the cursor is. For example if we check the text messages and want to reply in that text message, where the cursor is, we just pushed a button and dictate right over it. This way we don't have to go to Voice Dictation, dictate then send text separately. Overall, very good application.

Great application!. I find this application to be very useful and helpful. I highly recommend it! I use it throughout the day with messages and communications to friends, family, business clients and associates. It does require me to slow my rate of speech, just a bit. But, in reflection, I have found this slower speech to be more helpful as I reflect on my thought process as I construct my ideas. Highly recommended!

Save. I have never given a review about an App before. However, I am excited about this App. If you read this review the one thing I believe would make this App the best is after the recording is transcribed, if you would find a way for the transcription to be saved or supply a save button when the recording opens that would be great. the problem that i have with this app is sometimes i say something very good that i like is and when I try to click on the imessage or open in message tab, the message or transcription disappears and i lost all of my recording. if you could fix that problem where the message or the recording can be automatically saved or i can click the save button to save it after i record, that would be great. thank you.

Great dictation program!. This program really works great! you can pause and resume dictating the same message without having to save it in between recordings. this program works better than any other dictation program i have used including dragon dictation. even though i don't enunciate well it understands almost all of what i say very well. i even used Voice Dictation program to record this review. A useful tip i discovered is that you can save the punctuation if you want it added to the sentence like "comma" or "period".

Great app for busy Nana!. This is a great application! I'm a full time working Nana and I have my 93 -year-old mother, my disabled husband and a two -year-old granddaughter living with me. This app has really helped in my organizational skills. I even recorded this review and pasted it in (with edits of course)! I wish it had a little bit more time in the recording session. It is great for the price. I have purchased the Dragon program for my main PC but that's not convenient as opposed to this, using the iPad.

Great Dictation App. This is the best app I have used to dictate papers. I have found it to be very accurate at capturing words and easy to use. The text that is generated can be exported to Pages and then emailed as a word document from my Ipad. Word is the predominant word processing application in our school district so the resulting doc can be emailed to them and anyone can read it. I have used this app successfully and hope to have students use it extensively next year.

Convenient and helpful. Typically I don't write reviews but, in this case, I'd like to share my two cents worth. I like this app a lot! I. Don't know if it's because I'm an old fart with limited experience "texting " but this does remarkably well for me. It allows me to express myself so much more completely because it is so much easier than "one finger" typing. Also, I would be adding more thoughts if I could be using it right now! (If there is a way, I haven't found it)

Should I pay twice for the software license?!. I recently reinstalled this software, which I had purchased a few years back, on my ipad, only to discover that they want another 4.99 USD for this. How many times does one need to pay for this application?!

Love it!. I have had absolutely no problem with this app. It works great and has not misspelled anything. My only complaint is that I'd like to see it integrated into the iPhone Messaging App so I can reply to texts without having to close my messages and open Voice To Apps and send my text as a new message. A "push to record" button directly in the messaging app would be wonderful

Can't believe how good this thing works. I was expecting just mediocre dictation app. This thing is totally amazing it's usually 95% accurate with just a few misspelled or wrong words here and there that i have to go back and correct, which is not a big deal with the edit text option, (makes it very easy). This is definitely one of my favorite apps.

Awful. Well, it turns out that this app is the same as Dragon from Nuance Inc. This app uses dragon's website as a provider and we are allowed only 20 records per day. So if you need this on a regular basis throughout the day and you go over 20 individual recordings you are essentially SOL. This is something they dont say in the description. If I had known I would not have bought it. By the way I have not been able to use it since it gives me some error. On the plus side support is responsive within 24 hrs. I will update this once I see that it actually works. Update: I have not used this at all after this review. Do not waste your money!!

Love It!!!!!!!. I've used other dictation and voice recognition apps in the past but this is the best one!!!! I'm so impressed. It saves me time in my very busy day. For all of you out there that think everything has to work perfectly.... Just remember....YOU are not perfect either. This app is as close as perfect can be and with time I'm sure they will fix the little bugs that are bothering YOU!!! I love it!!! Thank you for making my life a little easier!!!

Worthless. It let's you dictate only one sentence at a time, and then forces you to open a new file for the next sentence. And it deletes much of the information randomly. Don't expect to be productive, you would rather be frustrated.

Pretty Good App. This app understands your voice well. I think it is as good as SIRI or google voice. The issue with connection with the server has to do with whether or not the ipad/ is connected to the internet and as long as there are no filters. My work has internet blocking software for particular websites and/or due to protection of children on it and it won't work from there. However, it works from home great. It needs to give the website address that is being blocked so that it can be added to a safe list. If you use the keyboard on the ipad, you can edit the text and continue to record. If you use an external keyboard, once you start editing the text, you can't continue recording or at least I haven't figured it out yet.

dig it!. I got this when it was called voice to apps, that is a very accurate representation of what it does, in fact voice recognition for text was the reason I got a smart phone in the first place and I'm very happy with the performance of this app compared with others I've tried, would be nice tho if it allowed editing with voice as well, 4/5 stars… (This review written by the app itself)

Dictation. OK, this is as far as I've gotten. I'm using OfficePro HD and the Apple word processor ("Pages"). As far as I know there are NONE OF THESE VOICE RECOGNITION APPS where you can sit and dictate via voice (blue tooth, microphone, or anything else) and watch your dictation print out in the document you are working on. there is a lot of stuff where you talk, click on the microphone again, it's processed and shows you... then you cut and paste... it's all junk as far as WORD PROCESSING...as far as I know. That said, here's what you can do: click on the microphone, say a sentence or two (you do NOT get to see the translation), click the microphone again to turn it off. A menu automatically drops down and it has choices like e-mail, any programs you have installed (Office Pro and "Pages" for ipad show up), it takes you there opens whatever it is and your translation is there. I guess if I was a twitter user, texter, or serial emailer it might be cool. I've used Dragon software on my PC for years and ITS AWESOME... (it was a couple hundred bucks and worth every penny) but that's not happening here. If anyone knows any different let me know. DK

Text message failure. This app is very accurate so far in turning voice into text, but I have not been successful in sending a text message. Each time I try, I get a "text message failure". I hope this gets fixed to make it five stars. I also agree with some other commenters that it would be nice to be able to go back and add to a message after stopping.

Listen to my review - It's a great app. I love this app. I was spending $300 - $400 a month doing documentation through transcribing, and this is a blessing! It has the same amount of mistakes that transcribing your material will have time to time. Some of the complaints regarding the length of time that it records is basically just complaining for the sake of complaining. I Love this app as it saves me literally thousands of dollars in transcribing fees. If I had this app when I was in graduate school, it would've made life so much easier! People sometimes expect to download an app and for it to work immediately, and that is not realistic. The more that you work with this app, the more it becomes like second nature. I have literally developed the innate timing that when I am dictating, I can cut off my words right before the app does it. They give you a good 60 seconds to record your dictation. I think that that is more than enough as it allows you to have fresh thoughts and more fluid processing. I have recommended this to all of my clinical peers and it has been a blessing for me. I cannot think of a better way to spend $.99!

Decent Product. This app works quite well for me and significantly better than Dragon. Dragon had me questioning my ability to pronounce words properly - this program is uncannily accurate. I'm sure I could use it more efficiently - for example I'll dictate a letter then email it to myself then copy and paste into a Word doc once I get back to the office -but given the price, I love it.

Accuracy is almost scary, it's so good!. Yeah I have ad the server error messages too, but rebooting will often fix it, if not, it's gone in 24 hrs, so I repeatedly keep running back to this app because nothing comes close to it in accuracy, and I dictate in a highly specialized field. Also keep dictations at a reasonable length. Stunning results. Even with the bugs, love the app!

Handy. I use it to transcribe my meeting notes. Very easy to use with email or pages. I especially like the text editor it comes with. You can vocally edit the text - just highlight the word you want to change, tap the microphone and speak the word or words you want in it's place. I really don't use the commands. It seems to get it right most of the time. Awesome!

Limited capability - Better apps out there. Although this app can actually convert your speech to text, it's missing some very important qualities. First, there's no way to save the text within the app. When you're done with its conversion, you MUST export the information, or all will be lost when you leave the app. Second, although it appears to correctly punctuate everything you say on your first entry, when you tap the microphone button to add more text, the speech to text translation is all small letters. Sentence capitalization is entirely missing. The only app I have found that fixes both of these problems is 'Voice Dictation for Notes' by QuanticApps. Both this one and that one use the same Nuance voice conversion engine, it's just that 'Voice Dictation for Notes' has a superior implementation. I'll raise my stars to 4 if the punctuation problem is solved and 5 if the ability to save entries is added.

Grammar correction. The description in the store claims that one of the benefits of owning this app is "automatic grammar correction." This is either false or it doesn't work as far as I can tell, at least for English. I emailed the developers about this and the response I got was: "Our app it's not a word processing program look like Pages or QuickOffice. We can not claim that all grammatical issue will be fix." I didn't expect it to be a word processor, but that was one of the reasons why I made the purchase. I sent three emails to the developers asking what types of automatic corrections it does do and haven't received an answer, and I don't expect I'll see one since it's been more than a week now.

Honestly. I very seldom write reviews for any app. No matter how good or bad they are. But this one I have to say something about. I've been using it for about two weeks or so and I have to say that it's a very good app. Haven't had any crash issues, speech recognition problems, or anything else. Very versatile and trustworthy. Recognition is great! That was a big issue with me before I purchased it. Can't speak for everyone else but for me it's perfect.

Not ready for prime time/part two: improved function. Shows promise, but stopped functioning on second day of use, giving me a message that I am not authorized to use the program. This has been reported elsewhere. I will keep the app and check for periodic update/fixes. ... This is the second part of my original review (above). Since then, I received a quick and polite response to an email I sent. And the program appears to be functioning well. Because of the initial problem above, I would advise iPad users to have the Dragon Dictate for backup. V Dictation actually has some advantages over Dragon: - prolonged recording time - wide range of exports, including other apps and printing I noticed that the editing portion of this program does not cap the beginning of sentences, but the initial screen session does. If I had not experienced the initial quirk described above, this review rating would have been 4 stars.

Voice to Apps. Functional app, but does not work in landscape mode. I wish that were disclosed in the information on the app. I prefer to use landscape mode and it's inconvenient to have to keep rotating my iPad if I want to go in-between apps. Update: I'm impressed that I received a quick response to my e-mail about the app not working in landscape mode: ' the landscape mode is scheduled in the next version and is planned to be launched at the end of the month.

No support or information. This should be a “no brainer” - just tap record and talk. Except the voice recording goes into the abyss and is nowhere to be found. The FAQ area is useless and can’t access support. Going to delete it and try something that works. Bummer as I recorded an 18 minute talk I hoped to have transferred to text.

Best app in app store!!. This dev has exemplified what it means to create apps that are useful in making life more efficient and better!! I seldom write reviews in the App Store but this one had to be written because of how great this app is. I used to use Dragon dictation but when I discovered this app a few when ago, this is my new voice dictation go to app! Voice Dictation is more efficient, more accurate, and more effective then Dragon dictation. This app is the most useful, practical, and indeed my favorite for my iPhone and ipad! Even though i am an extremely fast texter and typist, I use this app every day, and go to it multiple times throughout the day. I love the new updates, the ability to change the size of the text font and being able to continue one's dictation without having to copy and paste each time. This latter feature works great with "the detect end of speech" turned on. Thank you devs for listening to us and adding these features!! DG😄

Notifications driving me crazy. If they really did remove the notifications then I'd rate this app higher. The constant nag and new item hiding under the icon had me ready to remove and dump the app. I was set to do that this morning and found the update with the statement that notifications have been removed. I'll wait and see. Overall good recognition but I wish it offered dictate functions in more apps on the iPad.

Contact service provider?. Got app and used it twice. Worked fine those 2 times. Then started getting the "contact service provider" message. Did that and got a long list of excuses from everyone. No one wanted to take responsibility for the issue. I can understand glitches, freezes, and hiccups, but to say tough luck it didn't work for you is horrible customer service. I have been using iphones for 4 years and have had my share of successes and failures with apps. Service of this type has never happened before. I would stay away from any app these people create for that one reason alone.

stay away. this is a piece of garbage and avoid it… Not bad for the basic dictation, but it discards many texts without allowing you to save them. It allows you to make edits which it then doesn’t save.... I have done three minute dictations where nothing came out. This has wasted too much of my time.

VDictation. Definitely many improvements over past version! Voice recognition much better than Siri. Would love to see more instructions for those of us less tech savvy. Need password protection please. Would appreciate longer dictation period without having to stop and edit just to allow for better thought process flow. Overall much happier with it in this version and have not had any unauthorized user errors others have mentioned. Good job! Keep up the great work, much appreciated!

Miss leading. For what it does, it does it right but the pictures show an icon that can be used from the messaging which is the only reason I purchased this but it is not maybe there's something I have to enable but I searched and no luck if I would have known I would have kept vlingo maybe in a future patch they will add it to the actual messaging app but for now save your 1$

Helpful but could use a couple tweaks. It is a helpful and concise app but I have two major points of contention number one. How are we to know what text has been dictated unless you go into edit mode. It would be a much better app if the text were recited back to us after recording. Number two. We are adults in this world and we do swear. It would be nice if the program would allow dictation of swear words, or at least a toggle for adult content. Otherwise I recommend Voice to Apps. It seems to be a more accurate program then Siri. Unfortunately, Siri appears to get less accurate everyday.

Fabulous app-accurate- great customer Service. Got this app several months ago. Yes, it stopped working this week and got error message that said app not supported by carrier. I contacted the developer who responded almost immediately and said it would be fixed by Friday. Sure enough, it was. Thank-you for great customer support. This app is very accurate in translating voice to text. Also has special features where you tell it which punctuation you need or to start a new line. I love using this app. It's much faster than typing and I use it to record text messages while driving. Then I wait until I get to a stop light to send the message. This is a MUST HAVE app!!!! Worth every penny.

Incredibly useful app!. This makes things so much easier in my day-to-day operations. It is accurate and quickly responsive. Being able to open in another applications (such as email) saves a number of steps and makes this one of my most important productivity tools. Thank you for making something so intuitive to use.

Worthless for more than short texts! Do not buy . . .. I am an attorney and have used Dragon Dictation for approximately 6 months to dictate client reports. I was looking for something with a better user interface, that allowed easier editing, and could improve on accuracy over time. I will not use it long enough to decide if the accuracy does improve. Unfortunately, it will only allow short spurts of dictation (like Dragon) but then requires you to send that dictation to another application. It does not allow you to return to the dictation to add additional text. This was a waste of $.99. It does nothing more than SIRI does, but with less skill and is far less impressive.

Not fully accessible. My blind wife has an iPhone 4, not the 4S. I was hoping that this app would make it easier for her to enter in messages. It may help, but there are still a lots of accessibility problems, so I will need to help get things set up for her. The first test I did was to post a message to Facebook. After logging into Facebook, I hit the cancel button and it still said saved. I'm not sure if it still posted to Facebook or not. Then, after I tapped the microphone to try additional tests, it would not process anything that I recorded. I needed to force quit the app and then start over again. It seems to work a little bit better after that. I believe this app has potential for those who do not have Siri, but there's still some bugs to fix.

Rubbish. If I could give no stars I would... How can you charge for an app and then limit how much the user can access it? This MUST be made explicit in the description. Complete waste of money.

Great App.. I've really been pleasantly surprised with this app. Very accurate, & saves you so much time, than actually having to type out your text, especially when it's a long one. I'd really recommend it.

Dictation. Great app - lotsa fun

Connection issues. Constant connection issues....suggest dragon.

Unauthorised to use. Having purchased this app and played around a bit learning how to use it, I now discover that I am unauthorised to use it after 20 dictations. It's like going to a restaurant, ordering a meal, and after taking twenty bites of my dinner, having it taken off me. "I'm sorry, you're only allowed twenty bites of your meal per day." What? But I paid for that!

Not bad. I have figured oit how to use this app properly now and I quite like it. It pays to speak and edit often for two reasons; 1) it doesn't time out like it did before & 2) you can edit and add things as you go. As far as voice recgnition goes, it works better using headphones as I am learning that I speak very quickly. Too quickly. Cheers

No good. Trying to take notes for uni, gets through a few notes then tells me I am not authorised, what a rubbish app, looks like this is a problem for many. Disappointed.

Great for meeting minutes. A great tool to ensure you gather vital information whilst in a meeting- send to text and construct an email, report or even log a call! For those that are having issues with the app I can appreciate that not everyone speaks good English...

Love it!. I have given up on Siri & this app is perfect!!

Why do we as a human race hide the truth?. I would be willing to be patient with this app while it kepts learning how I speak. Its okay with me that it makes consistent transcription errors in this learning period. This I can be patient about. HOWEVER, what this app does not tell you in the description area and specs area of this page is that it will ONLY record your voice for 1 minute before cutting you off without notice and then going onto transcribing your text. This is a note to the developer of this app: I encourage you to be transparent with your customers not only about the features of your app but also ITS LIMITATIONS. It is a very frustrating user experience being cut off after 1 minute of dictation WITHOUT ANY WARNING whatsoever. Not even a timer to let you know as in the voice recording feature of an app called WhatsApp. If this app cost me more than $10, I would be asking for my money back. $1.99 does not warrant chasing this up. At the very least, update your app to have a timer on it so user knows when they will be cut off after a minute, and then I will consider revising my comments here.

Why connect to server?. Why do these apps have to connect to the server in order to work? If I'm on the road and I want to SMS without typing I should be able to without going through the net. Please fix this!

Don't bother, this is a fraud. It worked for a very limited time, then I just started getting one and the same message that I was not authorised to use the service. A quick search on the Web showed that that is a common problem. The reason seems to be that the spoech-to-text service provider allows one only up to 20 requests per day. It's a joke. This application MUST be removed from the store.

Works Great. Works pretty good. It will miss or mix up some words but I do that without an app!

C. Waste of money - not even close to accurate

Captain. The dictate feature is easy to use and errors/editing is minor. I would like to have the dictate function appear when I "reply" to my emails though.

Stick with Dragon. Does not work a lot of the time!

Lawrene. I will do this entire review by just dictating to the phone. To put a period at the end of line to say full stop. To put in a comma, just say comma. To put in a question mark just say question mark at the end of the sentence. The same with the exclamation mark. Just read the help section to get the whole list.

Great app. So far this app works great. I use it daily. I wish it could tell when a sentence ends and a new one starts. Aside from that the app is great.

Software Trial. The transcription had many errors. The software stopped transcribing after a few minutes which was frustrating.

Voice recognized. This app recognize my voice better than some and i can sent it as a text through messenger

Still not functional. As dalhousiecity said on Nov 16, 2013, this app isn't functional. It seems great, and I was enjoying it, but on the 2nd usage it gave me the same error message of not being authorized to use the service. Obviously the developers aren't acting on bugs.

A very useful and cool application. This application works very well. The only improvement that I would recommend would be for it to be able to put in periods and commas, as this would make the app more like a miracle that everyone would want. The application is so accurate that it even records real laughter as "ha ha ha"

Not so fast. bought this for father-in-law to use. Very inaccurate, not worth the effort. Did not translate very well at all. Don't know what others are talking about....beware, you may find the same uselessness I did in the APP.

Accuracy. This app has been more accurate in my experience than the Dragon app, but after using it for only two days I began getting the error message that I am not authorized to use it. Then in a couple days it started working again. Seems that there is inconsistencies, but I hope the makers figure out a way to make it work more of the time. This app has good potential if the bugs are worked out.

The best. I've been using Dragon since 8.0 - its biggest fan, running it locally or running the off-campus version that comes with iOS, either way. But vDict runs circles around it. (I understand Nuance has bought vDictation - smartly). This is an amazing app. Barely need the keyboard. Baby I'm amazed, my confidence even so high that I barely gaze at the screen until I'm quite done! There's so little doubt in my mind that this is how we'll compose our text in the (very near) future: just integrate that little microphone into every relevant application. Thanks for this.

excellent tool for productivity. I have used Dragon dictation. When Apple introduced Siri, I jumped on the wagon. Now I have been using voice dictation because it outperforms both Siri and Dragon dictation in terms of speed. The accuracy is comparable. This is an excellent tool for productivity. I recommend it to anyone without any hesitation.

Exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for a reliable dictation app with multi-lingual options. Now I can dictate emails in my second language, which I am much better at speaking than writing. My life abroad just got a whole lot easier. :)

Whoa!. First try was amazing, so I tried it out with a few more passages with grownup words, and only one misspelling. Technical text is also very accurate. Amazing compared to other voice dictation I've tried.

This app rules. Fully integrated to SMS, Twitter, Email, accurate, easy to use, and makes driving much safer. Highly recommended by a professional driver who has to stay in touch. A high value must have app.

Very accurate/needs improvement. Great voice recognition. Powered by Nuance so its very reliable. Just wish was integrated into keyboard or option to go back to app to keep recording more. I always forget to add something and going back to add more would be nice if option was available. Excited for updates to come.

Good but needs some work. I use it for long text messages or emails mainly. It identifies most of the words correctly but always some editing is required. The editing and having to add punctuation could be easier. I tend to be a slower text writer so it does help me to be able to speak the message first.

Great App. This app works pretty well, and works great if you use proper pronunciation. It's actually a good learning tool to realize how many words are not spoken clear enough. I would like the app to make a capital letter in starting a new sentence after I say "period". I take down a lot of material and it has done great to hold everything until I am ready to do something with my several pages I have created.

I was astonished by the speed and accuracy. The reviewer who suggested that this was a pointless app must have missed that this is dictation software, not just a voice recorder. Nice to have the result immediately instead of waiting for Siri to contact South Carolina...

Voice to apps-Good STT, lousy UI. As noted in other reviews, this has promise. The speech recognition is very good, better than 90% for me (baritone, US English, east coast accent) The UI, however, is poorly planned/designed/executed (choose one) Each recording session starts a new SMS/email, and perhaps twitter & Facebook session as well, though I didn't test those. There is no function to add or reply to an SMS or an email, or edit one, FTM. For an app nominally designed for hands free use, it requires way too much, way too precise manual input. The record button is teeny, and doesn't respond to a large thumb mashing down on it. In sum, great speech recog, really bad UI. If the developers can polish that up, I'd consider throwing good money after bad. Otherwise, I'll just chalk it up to experience.

Wow!. Ditch Dragon and switch to Voice Dictation. A buck is too cheap for the quality. I used Dragon since its introduction in the App Store and found it useful but frustrating. I dictate medial notes and Voice Dictation is nearly flawless. It catches many words Dragon failed on including challenging words like 'spondylolithesis'! Must have for dictation.

No sync to DropBox?. Seems to work OK, but one of the marketing images in iTunes depicts a DropBox icon (which I have on my iPhone and iPad, but which this app does not seem to synch to). I was hoping for a simple note taker app that sent text files to DropBox with minimal interaction, but this is not (yet) it. (This also is almost exactly the same as Voice Assistant by Quantic Apps. Similar enough that one is likely a knockoff of the other.)

Customer service. I have to rate high on this app, I was extremely frustrated with those pop ups advertising other products, I contacted CS and got a prompt response and super fast as well, the developers are working to make this app into a diamond... 5 stars from me. And yes.. Does an excellent job in Spanish and English. Siri does not :)

Voice Dictation. Rarely am I compelled to rite a review being in the software business I am difficult to please. When an app is well done as this I feel the need to articulate my thoughts. This app completely rocks and I look forward to the next release. It is a steal at the stiff price of .99$. Clearly blows SIRI out of the wAter. Please consider the capability of accessing contacts via voice allowing the entire process to be "hands free". This would be totally awesome. Keep up the great work & thank you

Great product. I just deleted Dragon Dictate from my iPad. This app is great. I speak American English with what I'm told is a very neutral accent, and this program is spot on. The desktop version of Dragon is great, but going forward I'll use Voice Dictation on my iPad.

like it. this app is simple way to update facebook status or send the email, SMS. just say what i have to say, my iPhone converts my words into text. this app will automatic grammar correction. i like it!

Voice to App. This one for the best production apps I have found. It is the only one that I can find that allows me to copy to my notes. The voice to text translation is very accurate and requires little to no editing. this app is a bargain for the price.

Great app!!! Some tweaks needed.. Great and accurate for simple dictation. Needs the ability to record longer if needed and not turn off during breaks of semi-long duration. Perhaps for paid version?

The big boss. Love it. Works great and use it all the time. I dictate meeting notes right after meetings so I can remember all the details for later use. I can even email the notes and action plan to all members of my team. I can just spill my thoughts and have them instantly in written form. This app works great and is very accurate.

Worthwhile and time saving app. Excellent at what it's advertised to do. Text messaging accomplished in a fraction of the time, while including more information. Kids love to sing into it and see what crazy stuff is comes out. Highly recommend!

It's Great!. The little I've used it has been great. As a new voice, there are some text corrections, which I understand will improve as the app become accustomed to my voice. Perhaps, as a beginner, I am not utilizing all features, but I am not able to send a Viper app sms. If true, I request texting of apps is expanded.

Have used for years!. Don't know what's up with the negative reviews. This app has worked fine for me - for years now. BTW, when you say, "comma" or "period", the punctuation is put in place. Try the app out yourself, and see how well it works.

Great app. This is a great app which quickly does a nice dictation of the regular voice. It's does so surprisingly quickly and I would say its about 90% accurate. I'm not sure it can get any better, especially for $0.99.

App review. Tremendous app. Very effective if you have to write a paper but sometimes it says I'm not authorized to use it. I don't get y. Great app if it would allow me to use the program. It catches about 99 percent very little error. I'm impressed. Best voice app I have ever seen.

Life saver.. This is a very good app. Why? Because I don't have to pay attention to what I'm doing while driving. It saves lives everyday by saving people the time to type rather than focus on the rode.

Siri-less iPhone user says it's pretty good. This is a great app for an iPhone 3G user who doesn't have Siri. i can record a memo while i'm in my car and copy and paste and save it to my reminders application. obviously, there is a problem with the capitalization when you start a new sentence. i created this review using the app, lol.

Pretty accurate, but too short. Turned out great for short "notes to self," but I wish I could save those notes within the app or on my iphone. Also, while accuracy is 80-90%, it would be nice to have the option to send sound clips w/ email to allow me to make any text corrections later (I record while driving for work). DEFINITELY need longer recording times and - more importantly - a pause button.

Surprised. For me an application that works well for dictation rates five stars. As a practicing attorney I have tried several voice to text programs. This is the first that seems to be effective at actual transcription. This is probably the best bang for the buck I have seen.

Okay it recorded, now where is it?. The picture above in the gallery shows what appears when you press the settings icon in the upper right corner, but that is not what appears for me. I have no place where my recording is saved or converted or anything. It's as if it recorded and then just deleted it immediately. There's no place to choose "email" or "message" etc. and there's no support at all, even on that link above that says Support.

Love this App. I had been using the Dragon free version, and having to do a lot of corrections. Since this was on sale for .99 thought I'd give it a try. It works great!! Most of the the mistakes I have to correct are from my miss speaking or stuttering. This app saves me loads of typing, keep up the great work and thanks!

Works very well when Dictation craps out. Despite the fact that Mountain Lion and IOS now have dictation this app is still necessary. In fact this interview was done with the app i'm reviewing right now and not Dictation because Dictation did, in fact, crap out.

Useful app if you are deaf.. I can't hear. I love this app! My friends speak, it transcribes and I read what they just said to me, as I stand next to them. This takes a lot of the frustration out of a conversation. Thank you for adding the ability to increase the font size. I can read from a distance now. Also useful to be able to Message and email the transcription. Just so you know, all features work on iPads 1&2 so you don't need the microphone icon on the keyboard that comes with iPad 3. Ella

Works great!. Usually when you're dealing with voice to text apps you have to deal with a fair amount of error that will occur...however, with the engine included in this app, I have yet to encounter a single problem with dictation. Sends like a dream, and saves me quite a bit of time. Totally recommended!

Grow up. I am enjoying the app very much. I am wondering why adults feel it necessary to share there farts or adolescence insecurity in a review format. U either like it or u don't u may want to suggest improvements or simply invest your $1.99 elsewhere and see if u could get a stale donut to go with your coffee.i do think that the similar app that came on my AT&T 3GS is a little better at accuracy of words and a little quicker.

New update. I started using the app just a few days ago. Happy with the changes. Landscape mode is exactly what I wanted, and use in QuickOffice. Would be nice if QuickOffice docs were not read only. But can always copy and paste. Thanks.

One improvement needed.. This is better than Siri when it comes to dictation, but it only does line by line. I need it to do entire documents, when I use the internal transcriber, it no longer capitalizes words.

Still Some Bugs with respect to Accuracy!!!. Overall, this is a great concept and a great App, but for the kind of advanced work I do...as a National Leadership Consultant and Strategic Planning Specialist...there are certain aspects of semantic and syntactical construction pertaining to my dictation in different languages that come up in less than acceptable form. Wow!. I had low expectations, but this app would have surpassed even the highest demands. The quality of the text after recording your voice is phenomenal, and the ability to have it send as an IM, message,SMS text, as well as other formats is as easy as it is convenient. Definitely worth the low cost to purchase!!

Sales Account Manager. This is a wonderful app I use it in conjunction with Evernote. I am in sales and whenever I leave a client I voice dictate my notes and then, using the application feature send them to Evernote. When I get back to the office I simply cut and paste into my sales software; makes it all so easy thank you.

Suggestion. I like the app. However, I'd like the option to continue with successive messages to the same person without having to type in their address every time you send a message. But overall the app works as described.

Worked great for me. I love this app. I can do punctuation, see text and edit before I send. Excellent voice recognition. I have tried a lot of these app types. This one is excellent. I did, but I would not recommend you buy this app because their support site is gone. No domain.

I like it. I feel like I am using a supercharged Siri but only with more options. However when trying to speak in other languages I run into bugs and need to repeat myself. Nevertheless the app still functions well enough to fulfill its intended purpose.

Excellent. This app is very good. I was looking for something that was more accurate than Dragon Dictation. You can talk and it is very accurate even with strange words in the wellness office I work In. Therefore you can dictated and dump the data into any program with your past button. I would like to see the dictation process stay open loner than 3 minutes or so. But a far cry from having to correct every other word in Dragon. Thanks. PRETTY DARN GOOD!. I feel like a Dr. Dictating my notes. A great app. It actually recognizes my voice pretty well. You do have to remember to say period and question mark and such at the end of your sentences, or they run together. All in all, pretty cool. You can then address it to anyone on email, Facebook, message, etc.

Review. I'm impressed! For people out and about reviewing situations, repairs and reporting this tool is excellent especially reporting to yourself via your e mail. It really tee's up e mail communications once you return to your computer and modify you dictation to be sent to others

Good for long dictation. This isn't my first choice when it come to SMS or short messages. However most of the apps I've used stop recording with a slight pause in speech, this app has a manual stop and start button, which makes this app a bit easier to use when dictating a longer emails or notes. Nice clean interface and the dictation is precise.

Wow!!!!!!! Amazing app!!!!. You know how you try an app that would be a great tool, only to discover its a piece of crap with a nice graphic to sell it? NOT here!!! This app is amazing!!!! Works perfectly on my iPhone 4S!!! What caught my attention was the review from the deaf person. I figured, what the heck. I'll give it a try. GLAD I DID!! This is going to be great for transcribing lectures at some college classes I just picked up! I hated having to scroll through 2 hours or more of audio recordings. This will make taking notes so much easier!! Highly recommended!!
