Not liking new radar. Bring back old one.. The old weather radar was great. This new doesn’t seem to be as accurate. It’s raining right now and it doesn’t show up on the radar. I went to the noaa site to be sure, and it shows it there.

Radar Map. I agree with the previous review the map is so dark surrounding the islands, why change something that was working great?

Commercial junk. Annoying is the rubbishy stuff that comes with the weather forecast. Abandon it & you will notice much more interest

Not very accurate. I live on Kaua’i and there is only ONE radar here and it is on the south side. To give weather reports for only one part of an island isn’t helpful. Get another radar to support the other parts of the island that experience completely different weather patterns…especially on Kaua’i where we get hit HARD with inclement weather.

Don’t bother!. The functions of the app are fine, but they do not update the weather forecast anymore than once a week or so. You are better off looking at other sources for up-to date weather…

Used to like this app👎🏻. I used to like this app. Now the app requires you to allow them to track info on your phone. Unlike other apps that give you the option to allow or not allow an app to track this one will not let you continue unless you allow them to track. I will be deleting this app from my phone

Nice App. We don’t need Guy Hagi anymore, that will save you guys big bucks.

My review. Love it, that I can go to this app and plan my day. Looking at the radar I can tell what type of clothes to wear for the day or night. Thank you for this application.

Videos Inaccessible. App is ok if you are looking for hourly forecasts. I am looking for reliable forecasts for Hurricane Douglas and find that the KGMB videos are not available on the app. Not at all helpful in planning for a major weather event in the islands...

Black background. The background used to be blue like the color of the ocean and I used to be able to see waves and which direction the wind was blowing but for a few days now the background is pitch black. I thought it was just the app on my phone but I see my friends all have black backgrounds as well. What’s up with that? It no longer looks pretty and makes me feel blah!!! Can u fix the issue so I can see it the way it was before?

Stop wasting my time with useless information alerts!. There are over 20 categories of notifications but this app needs one more so I can uncheck it: “unimportant information”. “Gentle trades for the next few days” or “Winds are decreasing; when will they ramp up again?” is NOT information I need to be alerted to! Haven’t you ever read the story about the boy who cried “wolf” too often? When the real thing came along he was ignored because of too many false alarms! These are not actual ALERTS; they are simply a developer’s PLOY screaming “Look at my app”! STOP IT!

Weather Alerts. Appreciate the video to stay current on the quickly-changing weather during the day!

Guy Hagi is a terrible meteorologist. Don’t trust this weather app, the weathermen or the interactive weather radar provided by this app. This is the most unreliable weather app I have ever used!!!

Review. It’s not always accurate sometimes it says rain s as bf the whole day has no rain

It’s fine if it’s all you’re using. The thing I don’t like most about this app is that it does not let you switch between Say texting. If I select the text message that just came in, I go back to the app to finish watching the report and it starts from the very beginning, and I have to watch a commercial again. That is super lame, but the people reporting on it are great

Weird. This is a pretty weird app. Not only does the future feature work the past isn’t all that reliable either. Caught between the future or the past I don’t know what is happening right now. Guy needs to tell his boss to stop pushing the app until it’s fixed. Every time I hear him pushing it I cringe. I worked in IT for 50 years so I know what is great and what isn’t. This isn’t. Recommend Dark Sky for iPhone. The second star is strictly for Guy Hagi. He’s a good man caught in the middle.

Constant crashes. I downloaded this app to keep up with the Hurricane Lane path projections, but every time I zoomed in on the map, the app crashed. EVERY. TIME. Not even being dramatic. I just deleted it because it did the same thing for Miriam. 🙄 over it already.

Irritating when there is a warning. This app is irritating when there is a weather warning. You get a warning notice and I clear it. About 15 minutes later it tells me again. Once is good enough don’t have to keep pushing it. I just deleted it.

Long Ads, Glitchy. Would be nice if HNN would integrate the information in this app with their main app. Also, 1:00 unskippable ads to watch a 1:21 video forecast? Yikes. Needs work, or consolidation with the existing app.

Useless. It’s been frozen in the title screen for 2 days and I guess no notices because I’m the only sucker who uses this app.

We use to like it. Not now.. The old app version was so much better! We liked the old radar. We don’t like it since you changed the live radar. Can see anything! Who ever did the updated version ruined it.

Using the radar doesn’t change orientation. I don’t know what they did to the app, but now when you hold the iPhone horizontally the orientation of the map doesn’t change. Fix this issue, it used to be awesome before this last update for the iPhone.

Best all around!. The best weather info ever.

Advertisements Galore. Uh…is there any information provided under all of the ads? Three bright yellow Longs ads on the screen - really ruins the usability of the app. This app was once good. Now it’s just a mess.

Buggy and a Battery Killer. 1) This app hangs up every once in awhile. 2) drains battery. My locations is only supposed to be on when using the app. But for some reason this app runs in the background and over the last few days is killing my battery (although I have not changed my locations preference).

You could do a lot better. Very unreliable.

Easy Peasy to Use. We keep track of weather forcast in DC, New Zealand, Japan, and just about every place we have visited around the world. Its great to see the future forcast by radar. Telling us if any major storms are headed are way or is it all clear to take our canoes out.

Useless weather alerts. I have alerts on for bad weather alerts. NOT for daily “more best weather on the planet” alerts.

Weather Updates. I really enjoy the information that Hawaii News Now provides me regarding weather and conditions in the Hawaiian islands. I think this is good for the public and it’s also good for the safety of our public. Keep up the good work.

Don’t like new updated version. The weather radar map was great the way it was. The recent update made the radar map always dark (day or night), and doesn’t seem accurate. Don’t like the “past and future” option either. Both looks the same. Doesn’t show as much as the previous version. Please go back to the old version!!! If not I guess I’m just going to use someone else’s app.

Junk. Not worth using. Map dies not even show the hurricane. News info is not up to the minute, so if you watched last nights news, you won't see anything new. Hopefully it will change & get more useful.

Kept crashing. Deleted.. I downloaded it today, tried to open app but it kept crashing. So I deleted it.

Don't like vertical set up.. Still has not changed since the crazy new set up over a year and half ago. The original version was way easier and looked cleaner. You can clearly see the reviews have not improved and you haven't done anything to fix the app. Please change back! Update, I don't think the designer of this app even considers the reviews because all them are saying same thing and nothing has been done to fix it! Update 29 Jun 2017...app still makes you have vertical view and not user friendly. Read people's reviews....

It needs to update with real weather. Why does it say 0% chance of rain on the app, when the Hawaii news now online service says get ready for huge thunderstorm? Constantly, not being updated with real time weather.. The radar shows lots of rain, but the forecast says sunny with no rain.. Get it together people!

Freezes! Deleted!. Cannot get it to lock on my location. Needs more work.

Poor update. This is what's called better,huh, not so much. Old version crashed on opening, new version frequently just won't open. Hard to say that's an improvement. Need to scan/scroll to see all articles, most websites went away from that 15 years or more ago. Regressive developers hired to do this "new site", bummer. Except for crashes, old site better.

Why still not fixed?. Same comments as others -- landscape orientation no longer works, so app is sideways wrong on iPad dock...barely useable. Ads look like a disease since they're taking over the whole UI screen. Wish the app would always remember to jump back to where we were last time, rather than having to navigate through...and wait for the banners and ads to complete...even if you bounce away for just a second...why have to start over from the beginning? App worked perfectly and beautifully last year (2016), but now it's just plain annoying, even though the weather content is still good.

Hawaii weather now. Stinks had it on for less then 2 hours then deleted it. No stars Junk!!

TERRIBLE App !!!!!!. I set this app to alert me to high and low tides. It junked up my Calendar app with push notifications going BACKWARD 8 1/2 months - to January, 2015. (It is mid-Sept.) WHY? I can't delete them and I can't use them. They are ancient history. This is a TERRIBLE app. Worse than useless. It destroys the usefulness of the Calendar app.

Not up to date. The most recent weather report video is over 36 hours old and there's a hurricane in the area. Wake up!

Not working. It was a good app when it was working. Now it's just a nice looking satellite view picture of the islands.

Only wifi?. This app is pretty good but why will it only work on wifi? It gives me a network error when I try to use it on my cellular network. It says ensure wifi is connected and only has an option to retry, which never works. My cellular data connectivity is not in question. This makes the app useless away from home! Fix this!

Fantastic App For Weather Anywhere. We use this app the entire time we have been in Hawaii on our three week vacation. It has proven to be in valuable, and extremely accurate. The radar/precipitation/hurricane track information is truly top-of-the-line. This app actually works anywhere in the world. We will use it when we go back home.

Why bother. This should be called the surf report app not weather it would be nice to get detailed weather information. If they put as much effort into the weather as they do the surf report it would be a good app.

HNN Weather. Love the app. We use the information to help us plan the day. Very helpful and most of the time information is pretty accurate. The only con i have is the follow me feature tends to get a little “ goofy” at times my location is in the middle of the Pacific near Kiribati. But after a couple re-sets and getting back in it tends to fix itself and my location is good.

Radar map?. Had this app on my old ipad, but on a new ipad, the map of the island chain doesn't show on the radar. I get the precip and everything else works just fine. Tried adjusting all the settings etc, just no outline of the islands. Weird, so radar is useless for me.

Doesn't work on iPad mini. Horrible update. Big ad in middle of screen that can't be closed. I was happy with app until this update, but now I've deleted it on iPad. Works okay on iPhone

Love the update... But. Been using this app during last years hurricane season for the best map (the only local app with the map in landscape mode) and excellent tracking graphics. The new updated app has easy navigation to all details of our Hawaiian weather but there is one detail that is somewhat annoying. Does the dot indicating the chosen city have to be so large as to blot out a good portion of the map? Why have it on the map at all?

Location Andover, MA!??. Recently, whenever I open the app just after awakening, the app has set my location to be Andover, MA, even though I’m in Honolulu! I have specified that my location follow me and have set location services to be used only while using the app. Please fix this annoying bug!

almost great. with this version, the audio on the videos does not work... and the videos are a feature I would like to see daily.

Good for showing where it's raining now. Cycles well through the last 20 minutes of radar rain in 5 minute increments but the future forecast function doesn't work. It cycles through the next 2 hours on the clock but no data is shown. Would give 5 stars if they fixed this

Deaki. Would love to use this app, but cannot depend on it to work. Every time I choose any menu item like Hourly, Alert etc., the app freezes and no longer works. I've deleted and re-installed more times than I can count. Disappointing.

the app is still Honolulu centric. No matter what you set your location to, the radar/satelite part of the app always starts in Honolulu. My location is set properly to Makawao, so why doesn’t that view open to Makawao/Maui? I don’t want it to open to Honolulu.

Terrible app. I thought this would be similar to the current HNN weather portion but with more. This uses different maps and is not very user friendly. I deleted and am using my old app until they improve this one.

worth getting to follow storm tracks. Excellent application to keep up with the weather and especially for watching storm tracks. Also has a weather map for the entire world with useful information.

Oct 1, 2016 update . . .. Poor update for iPad mini. The app won't rotate on the screen at all. I have enjoyed this app in the past, it's just a poor update!

What a waste.... Recently there was an update for this app and it still doesn't work. Still no cloud cover...

Nice app. I really enjoy this app. Nice graphics and I like the fact I can see earthquakes and it shows you the storm tracks. Best of all it is free. Most of the paid apps do not show you as much as this one does!

No Good. This app will not be worth the memory or time to download. It would be more accurate to have a new born tell you the weather. It is not accurate for the present weather conditions nor future weather conditions.

KILL UPDATE. STOP nagging me to up date, newer version on my iPod touch not liked.

This app doesn't like wifi connection. It keeps telling me connection error. Told me to check if the airplane mode was on or wifi is connected. But I was definitely connecting to wifi. And it finally worked when I turned off wifi and used my data.
