All-New Radar The radar has been rebuilt from the ground up with a custom tile engine — smoother animations, faster tile loading, and an opacity slider to control overlay transparency. The radar legend now remembers whether you had it collapsed between sessions. Redesigned Radio Controls The radio player now uses a cleaner single-row control bar with a larger play button and springy animation on the skip buttons. The layout has been improved on both iPhone and iPad. Active Alert Badge A red badge now appears on the Alerts tab whenever there are active weather alerts for your location. Pull to Refresh Swipe down to refresh throughout the app — the old navigation bar refresh buttons are gone. Smarter Background Refresh Weather and radar now refresh automatically when you return to the app after 15+ minutes, without unnecessary reloads on every tab switch. UI Refresh Consistent card-style cells, large navigation titles, and polish across the entire app. Bug Fixes Audio now restores correctly after phone call interruptions. Fixed radar tile flickering during scrubbing, a frozen table after deleting the last row, and an issue where push notification device tokens weren't being saved correctly.

NOAA Weather Radio Comments & Reviews 2026
NOAA Weather Program. What a great find this NOAA weather program is! Just about any location you want to monitor from a distance right down to your doorstep it’s in this program. Want to watch the weather away from home on the road? Covered! Family in far off location and you worry about their weather conditions? Covered! Need to know the weather for a fishing locale? Covered! If you only have one weather program this should be it. If you are a weather watcher this program should be in with your other weather tools. Fantastic program! You will be delighted with all of these features for in-depth researching the weather around you and in far off places as well. This is a great weather program!
Great app but room for improvements. I love this app I use to be a cart pusher for a grocery store and I used this app every time we were supposed to get a big storm and it was pretty accurate and my boss would let me use it versus having them have to check their weather radio but one thing I would fix is push notifications I haven’t been getting them I do have push notifications turned on but it doesn’t notify me of any sever weather but I have fallen in love with this app whenever I’m out camping with family this comes in handy when I’m sleeping in a tent and it also has come in handy more times than I can really say but other than the notification issue you guys got my 5 stars
Convenient. I am pretty happy with the app. I thought the family sharing would follow to the iPhone, it didn’t. I bought the iPhone app and received a second app not related to the developer. I sent a email. I got a prompt response from the company asking if I purchased a package. I sent them the answer, no. That email was not responded to. The app, as well as the communication could be a little easier for us older technologically challenged. I don’t get alerts but I am lucky the available stations cover my area. The reception is better than my midland. It says it sent. I do not see what name was used, I assume my email address. I also don’t see a token to receive the + upgrade. Please see the portion of the review pertaining to ease of use.
All in one weather info. This app is a good place to have most everything you need in a storm situation. It sends push notifications to your phone when alerts are issued and then you can click on your local weather feed, and if yours isn’t listed you can import your own feed if you find a website online, but this way might not support radar depending on the location the website provides. The radar is base reflectivity and has storm tracks that let you know the predicted route the storm will take. Overall tells you all you need to know to stay safe and informed in severe weather.
Worthless. I use multiple weather apps as a storm spotter and thought I’d give this a try to see how it works. I’m frequently asked by followers what I recommend. So far this app is the worst. When I selected my local weather stations the app just spins and never connects. I watched it try to connect for 30 mins. I rebooted my phone and app multiple times. I was attempting to use this app during the severe weather outbreak 5/6/24 as well as the event happening in MO today 5/8. App is set so that I should receive audio and push notifications. Nothing has been received. I was never able to connect to the local NOAA weather station. There are definitely better and more user friendly apps out there. Personal safety is important and this app proved to me that I couldn’t depend on it in an emergency.
Almost a five!. After buying and installing the app I began the easy process of setting up the weather stations I wanted to use. Strike one happens when the Wilmington, OH KILN is not on the list. This directly affects my location as NWS alerts for Fayette, Franklin, Wayne and Union Counties in Indiana are issued from Wilmington. Strike two happened when Union County Indiana was not even in the list of places and strike three happened when there was no listing for the NWS radio operating in Richmond, IN. So with all that why the four stars? Well otherwise this app is very well designed and laid out. Any link I clicked worked well and it looks good on my iPhone 8+. I’ve still not heard how an alert sounds but considering the severe weather in my area I expect that to change soon. Hopefully the app will be updated soon to fill in the missing items.
Phenomenal services. The NOAA Weather Radio app is an exceptional weather app that offers a plethora of features to help users stay up-to-date with the latest weather conditions in their area. One of the key features that sets this app apart from other weather apps is its ability to connect to a multitude of radio stations, allowing users to receive real-time weather updates and alerts from trained meteorologists. Another great feature of this app is its high-resolution radar maps, which provide users with accurate and detailed information about weather conditions in their area. These maps are updated regularly and can be accessed quickly and easily through the app. The NOAA Weather Radio app is also user-friendly, with a simple and intuitive interface that makes it easy to navigate and access all of its features. Users can customize the app to their preferences, choosing which radio stations and radar maps they want to view and receiving alerts for specific weather events. Overall, the NOAA Weather Radio app is one of the best weather apps available, providing users with accurate and up-to-date information about weather conditions in their area. Its wide range of features, including radio station connections and high-resolution radar maps, make it a must-have app for anyone who wants to stay informed about the weather.
Best Weather / Alert Companion!. I recently purchased this app to help keep track of important events and weather updates / alerts for my home and surrounding areas and overall this app is exactly what I was looking for! It is very comprehensive and includes lots of customization to fit your individual needs. I highly recommend this app for anyone who is interested in tracking weather or having a safe and reliable tool to alert you in times of need! This app provided all my needs all while being very user friendly! - 10/10 highly recommended!
Weather Radio. Conceptually, Weather Radio is a great iPhone app (as I use it). The UX is well designed and the options are well laid out. I would have rated it a 5 except, as I commented to the author, a number of the stations that I tried to access in NC are either off-line, display an Oops check back later, or simply spin with a “connecting” msg displayed but the NOAA msg is never heard. I did pickup one station on the western side of the station Asheville, which worked perfectly and as expected. I’ll continue to work with this app for a while as I again believe that it has great potential. However, in my opinion, there is additional development tweaks that need to be completed before the app can be labeled as fully polished and ready for use. Ernie M.
Ajs-Trussville Alabama. I have always enjoyed listening to NOAA Weather Radio. Especially when my family and I lived in Dallas Texas in 1978-‘79! My Granddad, on dad’s side of the family, had this: 4”W x 4”D x 4”T square Radio Shack™️ battery powered weather radio with a switch underneath it for good (or) better reception mode, a telescoping 12” antenna, volume knob and long white on/off bar across the top side. Anyhow, I’m 55 years old now, but back in the 1960’s & 70’s NOAA Weather Radio Stations were ‘staffed’ with live, male, broadcasters..call me a geek...but their voices could put an elephant to sleep. The broadcaster’s voice is “computer animated” these day’s and new (Radio Shack™️) NOAA Weather Radio’s are all but impossible to come by these days, but, thank the ‘Higher Powers’ that be that there’s the NOAA Weather Radio “app” that’s still available from “An” App Store 🏬 to that’s available to use ‘with’ (or) ‘without’ an “Old~Timmie” - NOAA Weather Radio!
Convenient app. I got this app so that I could compare noaa broadcasts with local forecasts and my own visual observations. I run a construction crew and there are times when I need to check weather against a few sources to make the most efficient use of my time and manpower. It’s also great for updates afternoon squalls. Since we listen to streaming services now over the radio rather than the actual radio I like that the push notifications will alert me about weather forecasts that may affect my work area, which stretches over a few states. The layout could be different, but honestly, with so much information to display I think the creators did a fine job.
More reliable than “real” radio. Weather radio is still a super easy and reliable way to get important weather information quickly, particularly when you don’t want or can’t be glued to your screen. This app lets you hear the radio if you have data, which is more reliable than radio signals these days. It also allows you to see the 7 day forecast, see the current weather stats, read warning information, and generally streamlines information that can be challenging to dig out of the NOAA website. This is an app that does exactly what it claims to, and does it very well. The only thing that holds me back from a 5 star rating is the lack of a way to pay to fully upgrade the app in one purchase. I don’t mind paying for additional features, they’re worth it and the developer needs to make a living like the rest of us. I just appreciate being able to do so 1x when possible, as opposed to when new features are added.
Review on your app.. I highly recommend your app. I would recommend your app so much, that I even use it on the go. I’ve even recommended it to my friends. It’s sad that a lot of people don’t know about your company, and that most people rely on the news for their weather. and don’t get the most accurate information. I would highly recommend NOAA weather radio to anybody that’s looking for weather information around the world. On this app I’ve seen from Canada, to Puerto Rico, to anywhere in the United States, and I haven’t traveled anywhere, so I haven’t tested it in any other country. but I have your radio as well. I just think it’s crazy that not a lot of people know about your company.
An oldish idea brought into the future!. Weather radios have been around a while but for some reason I don’t have one. I think I might have lost mine in the divorce. Who knows. Anyway, I’m getting older and live alone and I’ve cut the cable so I don’t watch TV. I’ve realized (mostly because my daughter has pestered me) that I need to be more aware of what’s going on weather wise. Enter this app!! It’s really cool. And I get to pick which areas I want to monitor. Did I mention I live in an area that has lots of tornadoes? Yeah. With this app I can monitor specific counties. When monitoring tornado activity, it’s important to know what’s going on not just in your county but in the counties west of you. Plus I can monitor the weather where my daughter lives - in another state! Good job, app developer!
From childhood of Ham radio til now. NOA weather radio has been a big part of my life when it comes to weather. As a child I would love to add the weather radio frequency to my 2 meter radio and listen in whenever the weather is bad in my local area. Just found out a few days ago that this app is pretty much the same thing. It’s nice to tune in still when I’m not in my vehicle and don’t have to bring the hand radio with me to hear what’s going on. How cool is it in the 21st century you don’t have to have a ham radio or buy a weather radio at the store to listen in anymore. Though I’m more traditional it’s nice to see how how times have change. No issues listening in!! Can’t complain at all!
NOAA App. The NOAA Weather App is a must-have for anyone who wants reliable and accurate forecasts straight from the experts. Whether you're tracking severe storms, planning outdoor activities, or just checking your daily forecast, this app delivers in a big way. One of its best features is its **detailed radar maps**, which give real-time updates on precipitation, cloud cover, and storm movement. The app also provides **weather alerts**, ensuring you're notified of severe conditions in your area. The **hourly and long-range forecasts** are particularly helpful, making it easy to plan ahead. While the NOAA app excels at providing accurate data, the interface could be a bit more intuitive. Some users may find it slightly complex compared to more streamlined weather apps. However, for those who want deep insights into weather patterns, this is a goldmine of information.
Too many stations not working. Do you want somebody to make a rating on this and write a review I don’t even think it’s worth the words right now whoever the developer of this app is is totally failing to contact the volunteers who subscribe and post their weather channel information most of the feeds are down there’s no way to run to report a down feed or to ride to the developer of this app I’m really thinking this app should be trashed and that the national weather service should volunteer at SERVICES but right now this app is just the one on my scale until they step up do better and contact the volunteers who put the feeds out there and get these feeds working again and then better locations in a better cities weather is important and weather warnings are important and if someone doesn’t have a Weather Radio they’ll use their scanner app right now this app is totally failing in my opinion
Very Useful App. Like the app overall. A lot of different ‘views’ to find current wx conditions most anywhere. Nicely customizable for a number of views. Good access to many types of major wx maps and data in one place for quick access, once you’ve familiarized yourself with the different view options. My only complaint, and there is probably a good reason, but for most states the wx radio stations are non-functional, off-line, or have some issue. Is this because of budgetary probs in NOAA and NWS, or some problem with maintaining an active link with the app? Personally, I would rather only see viable, live stations so that if I want to get important, quick synopsis, I can depend on selecting an actively reporting station rather than hunting and hoping the one I select is on-line. In an emergency, eminent Wx situation, seconds lost in getting information could mean dire consequences.
She may be from TN, but my cousin knows which app this Kentuckian needed most! THIS ONE!. My cousin unfortunately has experienced tornadoes within the last few years living in different parts of Tennessee (we won’t hold that against her) just this past holiday season we found ourselves, our youngins & our claustrophobic husbands all crammed into a hotel tornado shelter with hundreds of others in Nashville Tennessee during our annual cousins weekend getaway together. It was then I first saw the high tech app she relied upon, confidently, to keep her posted on the weather. Luckily we didn’t have to witness the power of the Tornafo first hand but some of her family were a heck of a lot closer to it than us. This app allowed her to keep an eye on her parents in west Tennessee, her cousins in East Tennessee as well as our own fate in Nashville Tennessee all at the same time, IN REAL TIME. Impressive. I guess that’s why she’s the Doctor of the family, she’s got the brains to know not to mess around with the unreliable uploads. After all iCloud space IS precious these days. Anywho We spoke just last night about the upcoming storms headed our way here in Kentucky…. (our county sheriff warned they could be the kind you only read about in the history books) thank goodness she reminded me to download this weather radio app, I didn’t even hesitate to purchase it! We’re responsible for a herd of cattle, an overwhelming amount of Pygmy goats, my Yankee mama who lives a mile up the road in a double wide and of course the most precious lives (my husband and 5 year old son) we won’t be using any other sources to rely upon confidently anymore! I mean we will occasionally check our farm weather station but the donkey tends to rub his neck on it when the flies get bad so I’m not sure how accurate it really can be ya know, but it makes a cool conversation piece when the neighbors ride over to check on the cows every now and then! In other words, thanks for your resources, we country folk, in Kentucky AND Tennessee at least, sure do appreciate yall! #GOCATS
Huh?. I purchased this app months ago for NOAA weather, immediately I noticed that NONE of the Arizona stations are online, a brief search of the USA told me that there are a lot of stations ‘offline’. I wrote the developer and I received a reply stating that they were working on the problem. Well, weeks went by and I wrote again, this time no reply. I even spent an additional 2.99 for and add-on! It’s clear that the developer is doing nothing to make this a complete app...it’s a broken app that shouldn’t be for sale. I give it a ZERO star rating. Let me add that I opened the app today and a pop up came up asking for a review to help the developer..well, I still have no Arizona stations after a couple years! Waste of money if you live in an area with no weather radio. Here it is, over a year later and still no Tucson coverage, and that was the reason I purchased your app.
Worthless if you expect alerts or any support. See edit at the end of this review: I emailed the developer, no answer, so hoping another user will know the answer to this: will push alerts be sent for your current location as well as the locations you select in "Watches & Warnings"? There haven't been any watches or warnings in my current location (which is also the location I have selected in Watches & Warnings) since I installed the app. If I'm only going to get alerts for specific locations I select, the app wouldn't be very useful. Edit and changed to 1 star - I've tried to contact the developer via Facebook, no response. One evening, our physical weather radio went off twice due to severe thunderstorms. I could see those alerts in this app, but only by going into it and looking for them - no alerts/notifications were sent even though the app is set up to generate them. I'll be deleting the app and asking for my money back.
Alerts Don’t Sound. Got this app so we didn’t have to use the radio which is always super staticy and hard to hear and understand what’s being said. So when I downloaded and paid for the app I was excited I’d have it at my fingertips to get warnings directly on my phone. Well, I get zero alerts sent to my phone and am not notified of any active warnings or watches in my area. I have to go search to see if there are any which is very unfortunate, not good for planning or trying to get a head start on things and can become quite devastating if a tornado rips through and this app doesn’t even alert. I’ve checked all my settings and alerts are on checked the sounds they’re loud and there so I’m unsure what the issue is and definitely not feeling safe with this app. The radio station also doesn’t ever load so you cannot rely on this app for severe storms which is scary for mid-south!
NWS Radio: My dependable guiding weather voice since the 1970s!. I have only a lifetime of experiences that I can recall where the NWS Wx Radio network has covered me with a protective net of extensive weather information in the many cities I have called home. I wish that the Network was even more extensive throughout North America but I am always thankful for the web of cities which do regularly broadcast. I cannot say enough about these stations thoroughness, detail, and accuracy! Thank you, National Weather Service for Weatheradio! It is always an invaluable source of weather information for my entire family! Paul Nawrocki
Life Saver. I have always relied on my NOAA Radio app for alerts. It’s always kept me aware of inclement weather in the areas I have selected. During the recent tornado outbreak April 2019, an alert woke me from a sound sleep. Upon investigation, I found I was ground zero for a tornado in my community. The alert gave my family time to get to our safe space just as the wind picked up dramatically as the tornado approached. Fifteen minutes after the NOAA Radio alert, it was all over. Our house escaped damage but there were some huge limbs down. We realized it could have been different, but with the alerts from the NOAA Radio app, we’re always prepared and can even alert others since we have settings for other places in the USA where we have family. I think it should be installed on every phone.
Stay safe with this app. I downloaded this per the advice of our local weatherman, who is nothing short of a local legend after 24+ hours solid reporting during the Tuscaloosa tornado of April 28, 2011, a day I will never forget!! No matter how tech savvy you may or may not be, this app will work for you. It's very intuitive, and has lots of information with networks that span the entire nation, yet deliver accurate and timely local weather. I have alarms set for my location, as well as those of my children, and other relatives who are scattered across the country. The warnings wake me up before any other communication stream. I find the app to be more reliable and user friendly than my NOAA weather radio. All this, and I am using the free version! If you are worried, as I am, about your cell dying during a weather disaster, just keep a few power banks continuously charged..... you need them anyway. Don't wait.... if I can use this app, so can you.
Excellent alerts but need more WI radio locations. Great app for alerts. Alert tones are the same squelch type ones as on radio and tv alerts which to me is a plus. Unfortunately right now several radio feeds are not working (Madison, Milwaukee, Ladysmith) and forecast office page s won’t load. Also more radio stations need to be added for Wisconsin. There is nothing for far Northern WI (looking for Park Falls, Spooner, Duluth and Ashland) North central WI is slim but Eau Claire/Withee feed is working. I hope the others will come online soon. A good value at 4.99 price to get this on your phone and not a clunky radio to haul around. I’d give 5 stars if there were more radio stations working in WI.
WELL WORTH THE $5. This app is honestly one of the best weather apps I’ve used. It’s incredibly useful and informative, especially when it comes to severe weather alerts and real-time information. Being able to listen to live NOAA weather radio broadcasts and receive warnings, watches, and forecasts directly from the National Weather Service gives a level of reliability that most weather apps just don’t match. What really stands out is the value. The app is only a small one-time purchase (around $4.99), which is extremely cheap compared to many other weather apps that charge monthly or yearly subscription fees just to unlock basic features. NOAA Weather Radio gives you powerful tools—live radio streams, alerts, radar, and detailed weather data—without constantly trying to charge you every month. The alerts are especially helpful because they can notify you about dangerous weather even if the app isn’t open. For anyone who lives in an area with severe weather, this alone makes the app worth it. Overall, this is a simple, reliable, and very affordable weather app that delivers a lot more value than many subscription-based alternatives. Highly recommended if you want accurate weather information without paying a recurring fee.
Buyer Beware. I purchased this app for the weather radio function, which barely works. When I say barely works, there are 4 stations listed for my state and 3 of the 4 never connect and the one that does is on the complete other end of my state, which does me absolutely no good. For the other stations that I checked out in neighboring states, a lot of the stations showed as off line. I do appreciate all of the features that they provide with the app, but I can get those on my phone by going directly to that website. I got the app for the radio function and not the extras. I’m guessing the app developer is not interested in fielding questions concerning the issues with the app as my attempt at the support contact has gone unanswered. I’m guessing the people who gave this app glowing reviews either had radios that they could actually access in their areas, or they wanted to get a “freebie” that is offered if you give the app a rating (“good” rating I’m assuming). As this app barely performs the function that it advertises, I would say “buyer beware!” You might wind up just as frustrated as the other purchasers of this app that bought a pitiful product. I would advise reading the one and two star ratings. There is where you will usually find where the real problems exist.
Push notifications update.... Fixed it... On the alerts page, it tells you to swipe left or press edit to turn on/off notifications or to delete selected locations. Are your locations grayed out? Mine were. Using edit, only lets you delete the locations. If you swipe left on them, you’ll notice a button to actually turn the notification on or off. There must’ve been a version that added this feature and defaulted them to off, because I know that I never turned them off myself... I turned them back on this way, and now instead of being grayed out, they’re bold n black / asserted. About an hour later, since there is weather going on, I got my first alert after doing this. If you’re having the same issue, give it a try. It may make you love the app again... Now just can’t hear the weather radio audio. Just spins. The radar takes a bit to load as well. The app needs some updates, but at least Iam getting the alerts again...😁
Works well.. I work at a factory in Wichita Kansas. This app helps keep up to date with the rapidly changing weather conditions. As a voiceover user I must say this app is pretty easy to use. Most of the weather apps I have used in the past required me to jump through a few hoops in order for me to check the conditions. The only thing i wish that there was some kind of verbal announcement after the alert sound. For example, after the severe thunderstorm warning sound is played the next thing you would hear is "Severe thunderstorm warning "or "tornado warning." Mostly not a big deal to look at my phone after hearing the alert sound but would be nice for the times when I can't get to my phone because my hands are busy at work.
Irma. Here is my story, I downloaded this app in anticipation for Hurricane Irma. I went to use the app and it was locked in to the loading screen, I thought this meant it would work in a time of need. Once we lost power and the storm was ramping up to its worst, I opened the app and waited 1 min for it to connect to a radio in my area. No luck, I figured I would try again when I received power. When I did get power same issue occurred. We faired ok and I downloaded my local news app. We used it for the next 2 days (day of storm and luckily the 23.5 hours of no power.) I reached out to the Noaa people to notify them of my troubles and ask for a refund if $4.99. I am not a fan of paying for apps unless it is a necessity. This seemed critical so I forked over the $5 for an app that I would use possibly once a year. When asking for a refund Chris (the CEO) asked what I experienced and what channel was having issues. He responded that his team would be working to fix the issue. Although that is kind I would still like a refund and responded this. I have not heard from him in roughly 2 weeks. At the end of the day if the app had worked when and how it was supposed to then I would not mind the $5 being spent. The fact that I used a free local news weather app and it did a significantly better job is frustrating. I would rather donate the $5 to them then spend it on this app.
Thorough, Extensive, & Complete Weather Coverage. The name of this app is a bit of a misnomer. It offers so much more than weather radio. This app offers multiple weather radio stations for most states, plus Canada, as well as one NHC Tropical Weather station. I have set up notifications to receive weather warnings for my county as well as the many counties that surround me, where weather likely comes from. My expensive weather radio that I bought years ago has never worked effectively, so this app has taken it’s place and shown my weather radio up. This app is great for the serious weather fan, but it is especially helpful for those in the path of dangerous weather. It offers so many different types of information: National radar map: geographical weather maps; active watches and warnings; lightening detection maps; forecast maps; forecast offices; sector radars; storm prediction center; storm prediction center links; marine forecasts; Great Lakes marine forecasts, etc. This app is so thorough that it is my go-to for bad weather, both for where I live and where all my loved ones live. For anyone serious about weather, this is is a must-have app.
A Sense of Relief and Protection. I deal with very strong anxiety around severe weather. I have been back and forth on getting this app for quite so time. I took the plunge and purchased it just last night and it is already paying for itself! I was unsure of what severe weather was in our area (I had heard people talking about some coming our way), but I hadn’t confirmed it myself. Within a few minutes of wondering, I received a warning about weather that was approaching. It was detailed and incredibly helpful! I did have a few minor bumps in the road during setup, but I believe that to be user error and learning curve verses the app functions.
Absolutely do not recommend. Again, I am writing a review for this app… I live in Sioux City, Iowa and I want to listen to the weather radio broadcast that is out of Sioux Falls North Dakota and whenever I try to play the Weather Radio feed for Woodberry County Iowa, I constantly and constantly and constantly have a message saying oops seems to be a problem streaming Your feed and we’re working on fixing it. I have had this message come up for the last 3 1/2 years… When will this weather radio feed out of Sioux Falls, North Dakota for Sioux City Iowa in Woodberry county finally be fixed? I am getting terribly, terribly, terribly… Fed up with this app. Will somebody please fix the problem. I am giving the developers the benefit of the doubt, but they do not respond to any of my emails and I feel they do not look at these reviews and do not fix any of the problems that us consumers relay. I’m giving this app until June 1, 2025 and is if it is not fixed by the that time, I will be deleting this app. I also recommend to others, do not download this app if you need it for our area and region because it just does not work. If the problem is fixed and I am able to then get the Weather Radio feed for Woodberry County Iowa that is out of South Dakota Sioux Falls I will keep this app. But like I said previously, if this is not fixed by the time that I have given, I am deleting this Weather Radio app…!
App+HurricaneSeason=Winner. The app is an excellent NWS Weather Radio that you can carry with you on your phone 24/7! I'm grateful that this app is available to alert me about severe weather in Florida, the hurricane, thunderstorm, and lightning capital of the world. It's the only app I trust to notify me of adverse weather conditions, even when my iPhone is in Sleep or Do Not Disturb mode (make sure to add it as an approved app in your focus settings). For instance, campers caught in flash floods in Texas might have had a chance to reach higher ground if they had this weather radio on their phones! I've tried all the other weather apps, but this one is the best!
Not Working Well So Far. I paid for and downloaded the app, and then bought the additional in-app Radar +, which is supposed to provide hi definition radar overlayed on Apple Maps. The radar never comes up. Also, the basic radar doesn't auto-refresh. The quality of the audio on the weather radio is garbled badly and barely understandable. Lastly, the alerts aren't making a noise on my phone to actually alert me. It is a silent notification. I've received a few since activation and my actual weather radio went off, but the app just showed a notification. I WANT to love this app, and I do love he concept. But it doesn't seem like it works well so far. I've contacted the developer for help. I'll update this review if they're able to resolve some of the issues.
Eh, well, the radio voice is the same, I guess. I got this app for the purpose of having the NOAA radio weather at my fingertips whenever I wanted it. Recently I’ve owned an emergency crank radio which had NOAA weather on it and I love having the computer-generated voice reciting the forecast - for some reason I find it immensely soothing. Listening to that voice tell me the weather for my area (or, more specifically, the area in which I may be in at any given moment in time) is something I find both useful and pleasing to my ears. Within a few minutes of paying for and downloading this app I began to look around at the radio stations in my region and of the dozen or so stations “available” in my region only two of them delivered on a forecast and one was for a location on the other side of the country! Since I am writing this review during a pandemic and everything is slow to change (or slow to be fixed if it is broken or not working properly) I will hunker down with this app and give it time to start working the way I want it to work. If it does not start to work correctly, however, my review could change.
MAKES ANY WEATHER SITUATION SAFER!. I’ve had this app for at least 4-5 years and I keep a certain set (3) counties with push notifications turned on for various categories but specifically for Tornado Watches & Warmings because I live in Tornado Alley... Thanks to the early alerts I received from this app & all the updates, we stayed safe on several close call situations; such as the recent 2020 Tornado that destroyed a lot of our county & surrounding counties & the same thing that happened when we had a F5 Tornado April 27, 2011... it was terrible... But this app kept me up to date and sent me watches & warnings with details so I knew more what to expect. Good thing cause of electricity went out and if I hadn’t had my phone with this app & alerts, I’m not sure if things would have turned out the same for my family & I.
Great for all your weather needs. The NOAA Weather Radio app is my go to for all things weather related. My initial motivation for making this purchase was to access the radio feature to hear detailed reports about the weather in my area. To that end the app has completely satisfied my expectations. I somehow find hearing the radio forecasts to be a more complete way of understanding the entire picture of the weather that is to come. However, the app includes additional details that make it truly remarkable. The variety of maps that are available make this app well worth its purchase. If you are interested in weather beyond the simple data of temperature and wind speed I would highly recommend this app to you.
Perfect App of you live in wild weather area. The NOAA application is the best application. I have had to keep me informed on the weather in my area or what is to be coming. And the day of the Internet when you stream everything on TV and do not have any local weather available, this app helps. Keep us informed as to when adverse weather is headed our way. Living in an area that is prone to hurricanes, tornadoes, severe, thunderstorms, and hail, this app gives us everything we need. If you live in an area, known for bad weather, or even in an area that has perfect weather (we know this does not exist.), you should definitely have this app to keep you informed on any inclement weather headed your way. Also, a good app to have when traveling or out in a boat on the ocean.
Great app. I have been using this app for over ten years. As a fully trained weather spotter with NOAA, I have to have an app that I can fully count on. One that gives me the most accurate and most current weather forecasts & conditions affecting the areas around me. So I’ve relied on this app to help me know when to expect severe weather. Whether it is a blizzard or a chance of tornadoes, I need to know when it’s coming, what to expect and how to prepare for it as well as what I need to do to help prepare others for it. I wouldn’t head out into a severe thunderstorm that has a chance to produce tornadoes, without this app. It’s one of my top tools that I always make sure I have available when I am weather spotting. I also use it when I need to be away from my house for shopping or traveling. It’s never had a problem finding even the smallest of towns on the map and gives me the weather conditions and forecasts for those areas. When you’re out in severe weather you need to know what’s happening and you need to know if you should locate shelter soon. I rely heavily on this app for all of my weather needs.
It feels as authentic as possible.. I like how listening to the NOAA Weather Radio streams makes me feel like I am this sort of vigilant hero for my family. It is better than the standard weather app and it is great for getting alerts that are out of your vicinity. I encourage others to stream their weather radio broadcast in case if a feed goes down. Some people have minor issues with the weather data not refreshing automatically. Just click the share button at the top right corner and it gives you the option to refresh the weather data along with other features while listening to broadcasts.
Best Weather Resource for the Money. unlike a lot of other apps, this one allows you to build it the way you want. Its the most comprehensive weather app that I have found so far and I'm now, no longer looking! It's only a matter of time before this one emerges to be the clear choice for those who are serious about weather information. Also, the price is very affordable. As with any app, there can be minor issues, but the developer addresses these issues and give you, the consumer an opportunity to contact them. Who does that?! Anyhow, I am very happy with my decision to go with this one. Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed! Sincerely, Happy Customer
FANTASTIC APP!!. As a farmer and professional driver I’ve relied on NOAA weather radio for over 35 years now. Before the era of smart phones and their accompanying apps I kept a pocket-sized Motorola radio in every truck and tractor I owned. And you know what... I still do; you can’t go wrong having a dependable backup just like you can’t go wrong by adding the NOAA Weather Radio app to your mobile device. Don’t get caught in a freak snowstorm or in the path of a tornado because you didn’t want to invest in a reliable forecast and live weather app. Download the NOAA Weather Radio app today. And while you’re at it, check out all of the digital weather tools NOAA offers. If you’re like me, they’ll be on your phone faster than your meemaw can unbutton her overalls. Oh, and while you’re there, tell ‘em Truckin’ Todd sent you!
Essential App. This app is so helpful. NOAA n general is literally a lifesaving federal program, and to have access to up-to-date, accurate warnings and radar gives me piece of mind. Especially during bad weather, where I may not be able to reach the computer/I have no electricity. Hunkering down in the basement isn’t as bad when you can watch/hear what’s going on with your phone. It also helps the people you’re with, say, at work if you’re caught in a weather incident and have visitors with you! I work at a nature center, so it calms them (especially kids) when they can see you’re taking the time to update them/keep them safe. Thank you, NOAA!
An Awesome app at home & when we were camping.. I’d recommend anyone to down load the app. No matter where you live the app can provide you with real time watches, warnings and alerts. When we were at our home, I had our county, and the next county to our west and south because that’s where all the typical bad weather would be coming from. When we camped we’d update the app for the county where the state park was and I can’t tell you know many times this help to alert us in the middle of the night to impending strong and potentially dangerous situations and weather. Awesome because it helps to give you a little bit of piece of mind knowing you can get alerts anytime and it will wake you up so you can determine what you need to do for it.
NOAA weather radio app. During 2016 was able to use the app on my I phone and my iPad. Was extremely pleased as I am a farmer and it is the most dependable weather service available as far as accuracy. For some reason in 2017 I am unable to use the location from Lubbock Texas . It simply spins "Connecting " but never buffers. The Amarillo connection works every time . Other locations work , but never Lubbock or Plainview. I have tried to delete the app and renew it but nothing helps. It is absolutely not functional as far as the radio broadcast. Of course it brings up the page that can be viewed but I need the verbal feature. When working properly it is the same quality as the weather radio in my tractors. I need this feature to work. Otherwise my purchase of the app is now a waste. Currently I would give it no stars. And here we are in 2020 still doesn’t have the radio function , just continual buffering .
A "DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT ME APPLICATION". When I first got the application I set it up to give me the weather and warnings for the counties and states surrounding my location, it's been phenomenal, no last minutes preparation for the weather. I'm always well aware of my surroundings and what to expect. The Spark option is a most have, not only for your own safety but that of your loved ones and friends. This isn't just an application, this application can be the difference between life and death, when used right. I use it throughout the day even in the most beautiful blue sky days, because so many things are weather related, not just clouds and rain. Thanks for your thoughtfulness in preparing this awesome, dependable life saving application...Rey Torres
Great feature for the price. This app allows you to to get a live stream of any NOAA Weather Radio in the US, plus some Canada and tropical radio feeds as well. It also allows you to receive weather alerts that you customize for your specific county or other location of interest. Here is the only thing I wish there was a workaround for: Part of why I purchased this app is so I can have it wake me up if there is severe weather or flash flooding at night. I typically turn my phone on airplane mode when I go to sleep, and it doesn’t look like alerts will come through when the phone is on airplane mode. So, on nights where there is severe weather or flooding expected, it looks like I will need to keep my phone off of airplane mode, but then will also need to temporarily turn other notifications for email, texts, and phone calls off so that if there is a severe weather warning at night, it can wake me up and I don’t have to worry about text messages waking me up! Also, you have the option of paying an additional 99 cents as an in-app purchase for additional information on the products issued by the NWS/SPC for your area, which is very helpful.
Deteriorating app. Submitted two fix requests to developer concerning inoperative radio channels in tornado alley no less, a place where people’s lives depend on this kind of service. Developer would not even respond, even though their blurb states they will. The channels have still not been repaired after several weeks. Very disappointed in the service. You should not advertise yourself as a “NOAA radio” if you are next even willing to keep your primary mission objective, and that is to provide, what I hope is anyway, reliable radio communications. Other than that this app does offer some convieient access to some of NOAA’s weather data, but that is also available on the web.

Radio stations don’t work. Just permanent ‘connecting’ message - waste of money
Weather noaa app. What a wonderful everything you need
Weather Radio in Canada. It’s a great app overall, but looking forward to more Canadian feeds such as Toronto
Works good. Needs more for Canada.
Excellent. NOAA has excellent up to date weather information at your fingertip. I use it all the time for planning or changing trip details.
NG. Money down the drain
Safety app. Like all the features. Hope you add Canada too
Great app. Awesome to see it has Canadian cities hope more are added. Easy to use
Buggsey. Great app. Like others, more Canadian stations would round off what is a great app for those involved in weather related activities and hobby......buggsey001
Luv the app. I have used a weather radio for quite some time which I need as a driver and outdoor person....The app takes this a lil further than a radio does. I do wish there will be a time that the Duluth MN will be online and make my experience that much better Awesome !!!!
Good maps, but few radio stations.. I like the up to date radar and maps of each area, but some states do not have any working weather radio broadcasts. That is why I gave it 3 stars.
Update!!. Is there an update coming? Lots of offline stations!! App is great when they are working!
great app!. Love the warning notifications.
Precision Accuracy. Coming from a Canadian weather enthusiast, where radar coverage is sparse at best, this app is by far superior than all others. It is accurate and very easy to use. Highly recommend.
Good app!. Finally an app for weather radio stations - and it includes Canadian stations! App is pretty easy to use. Would love for it to be compatible with Apple CarPlay in the future.
Canadian user. I try to get weather out of Minot, Bismarck and or Fargo. Often the radio portion doesn’t work. But if they get that working, it will be perfect.
Awesome. Great app. I can't believe I'm the first to rate this!
Saskatchewan. No local
NOAA app. Very informative app. It is accurate and the live radio are cool too!
Not functional fir Canada. If you are a Canadian don’t waste your money. Even if you are American this app is likely inadequate for you. Example: I get a NOAA broadcast from a channel on my FOSPOWER radio and yet the app says there’s no channel in Toronto and none in the whole province of Ontario which is obviously wrong. To the app developers, you need to update your station data base. It seems you haven’t updated since the apps inception date. Even If you have to contact the provinces ave Ottawa for known Canadian NOAA channels and broadcasts and the individual states for theirs . Also you should scan the airwaves with a high powered receiver or by scanning and driving through areas to pick up signals. Your app only lists 1 off air broadcast location for the entire Northeast (based somewhere near Boston). That’s obviously got to be inaccurate. If you update your data and channels and it becomes usable for me (I’m in the Toronto Ontario area) I will review again and if it’s improved give it a much better rating. As it is I had to give it one star because it says there’s no NOAA in my area (city of Toronto) but there is and the only northeast location it offered me was near bottom and it’s a off the air station (obviously useless since if it’s off air it can’t provide weather info). Until then readers if you are in Canada don’t bother with this app. If you are in the USA this probably shouldn’t be your primary weather app or primary source of NOAA updates because the app is gravely deficient in coverage.
Offline. Bought the app during camping season to be able to listen to weather reports. Only two Canadian stations relevant to my location, and both have been off-line since purchase.
Excellent hiking buddy. Best hiking buddy you will find. No nonsense pure weather reporting.
Very few Canadian stations. Has minimal Canadian stations (6 total)
Please Update. I still love the app and thanks again for the streams from Weatheradio Canada, along with NWR. I hope you have room for more Canadian stations, such as a stream a friend of mine does for Toronto XMJ 225. Anyway, keep up the great work and please, update the app soon before it becomes forgotten by Apple.
Best weather app!!!. I have downloaded many weather apps and this is by far the best ever. I drive big trucks and have gone through almost every type of weather happening and the first place I always went was to the weather channels on the CB radio, which is of course what this app puts out constantly, 24 hours a day. Let me tell ya...there is nothing like having this live report when you are driving through tornado type winds, torrential rain or white out snow!!!!
Awesome app.. I run a Water Taxi & Cruise business in the Okanagan BC, this app is essential to my business and safety of my customers, love it.
Great app, more Canadian Cities please. Love the app, hoping for more Canadian content though please
Great App. This is by far the top app I have seen and used in this category. Download the app you will not be disappointed. GUY FROM THE GREAT WHITE NORTH
NOA Weather Radio. This APP is a life saver. Very reliable and instant. More Canadian locations throughout Ontario along Great Lakes PLEASE!
Great. 5/5 Best Weather Radio app!
Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!
Outstanding. This is a great app that essentially replaces the need to have that tabletop weather radio at home. Furthermore, unlike your tabletop radio that only works with the local NOAA station, this app gives you the ability to select other locations - perfect for traveling! Rock solid performance all the way around. I also like the app's ability to select alternative stations in the same area when the primary is offline. This a great tool for casual users, weather geeks like me, or users in areas where weather can become critical at a moment's notice.
A very predictable app.. Hi. I've enjoyed the app for several years. My primary interest are the stations in Oregon: usually Eugene. Once when Eugene Weather Radio was off the air, I visited the Portland station and roared with laughter when I discovered that the weather being announced was not for Portland Oregon, but Portland Maine. When it works, it works. When a station is off the air, it tends to stay off for days or sometimes weeks at a time. Not the fault of NOAA, but the app. Gathering weather feeds from anywhere and everywhere is no mean feat. All in all, a good app with consistent flaws and irritations: very human-like in those respects.
NOAA weather radio app. Paid $4.99, installed app, an basically nothing. Clicked on “contact us” link, asked for help, and can’t even send email within the app. Extreme weather is approaching today, and I’m afraid this app will continue to sleep through the predicted tornadoes. I need help or a refund. Was expecting “better than more expensive NOAA radios” with SAME codes that would activate my phone during the night when we’re most vulnerable. Right now, I have nothing. Update. App did notify me of severe weather 2 days ago, but was too general (not specific to my location). Tornado sirens were blaring before app notified me of danger. Would be useful with inclusion of S.A.M.E. coding.
Safety. I live in Tornado Alley and one of my main fears is me or my child not hearing or missing the sirens for a severe storm or tornado. This app is excellent power went out and I was still able to listen to the radio and keep track (I do also have a crank weather radio) but having the ability to have my phone too is comforting especially when I want to notify neighbors of more storm information! This app rocks highly recommend.
Don’t leave home without this app!. If you want to keep yourself and your family safe, not only at home but on the road you need this app. This is great for families that camp and otr drivers who move all over the country. This app works in the background and the emergency alert will wake you up in case of emergency. It’s easy to set up and program to your area. The best part is I have a NOAA weather radio in the palm of my hand to keep me safe no matter where I camp. All 50 states are covered in this app.
A weather geeks dream. This one has it all. Storm forecasts, radar, NOAA weather radio (obviously), alerts, and more. Not to mention it’s snappy and quick. Lots of weather apps are sluggish which can be frustrating when your looking for important information in a weather emergency. I especially like the ability to seE THE NWS forecast offices. This app brings a lot of information together in one place! Highly recommend!
Bob Rehahn. Chris this app is wonderful please check some of the weather stations that are running because when you try to connect on them on the iPhone they crash they keep trying to connect and it says connecting connecting connecting voiceover I don’t know what’s going on with that I did send you an email a week or so ago with my phone number I would like to hear from you also my friend Tom Jones would like to hear from you as well he is also blind and really enjoys the app take care talk to you soon
Worth the purchase to save people lives from storms. Honestly I suggest everyone that wants to keep themselves safe and their family safe is to purchase this beneficial app. Every day and every night it keeps me aware of my current weather conditions and always notifies me for every severe weather that comes my way, I’m very satisfied with the app and very happy the way it looks. Don’t wait and join me and many others by purchase this app for the safety of you and the people you care about .
Better than my local app. This is the first app I have ever paid for simply because my area was expected to have bad weather for the 2nd time in a week. During the first round of storms and tornado warnings, the only way we knew our home was under the warning was because the power hadn’t gone out yet and the news was on. During the next round of storms, the NOAA app sounded the alarm and my local weather app never did!! The NOAA app even sounds in areas when I have poor service!!
Weather app. If you a weather fanatic like me, then you are really going to like this because not only does it show a great detailed map, you can also get weather radio, forecast maps and so much more that not a lot of or rarely weather apps have (which is really really nice!) so if you want some more detailed weather apps with multiple different features for weather get this one!!
Weather or Not. I can’t say enough about the weather radio being accurate and updated with vital information regarding storms threats of hurricane threats of income that whether there are so many apps out there called my weather your weather it’s the weather but nothing is more accurate than the weather channel‘s weather radio once you use it you will not look back at any other app James Worrell
Great for Updates. Terrible for Radio.. The app has been great for me through Florence. The emergency alerts are reliable, timely, and clear. I read the written reports. However, the radio did not connect for me. This is not good. I understand that some radios cannot connect in inclement weather. Even still, the purpose of the app is to connect to data about inclement weather. In summary, it’s great for written updates! I would give five stars if that were the solely advertised app ability. Because it sells itself as a radio, and the app radio could not connect to multiple weather radios, I need to take away a star.
Don’t have to buy an expensive weather radio. Thanks to Hurricane Laura, I found myself in need of a weather radio but all the stores were sold out. I just moved, so I lost my old one. Thankfully, I found this app which lets me listen to my city’s weather radio feed from my phone. We haven’t had any watches or warnings yet, but I would likely know about them. So nice to have this app! I can also listen to my family’s city’s radio, which is nice as they live 12 hours from me. This will be my preferred app for weather related items.
Yes sir. This app takes me back to when I was a kid in Texas City riding out hurricane Alicia with the family at granddaddy’s house after we boarded up the windows and we had the ol brown boxy battery powered weather band radio with an antenna and a single button to turn on or off. I have a son working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on an oil rig and this app gives me more information faster than AM radio in Houston and we have ktrh which is top notch. I’m wondering if I can gift my purchased app to the wife as well? I think she would like it a lot.
All the NOAA feeds and weather all in one place.. Love this app. Well worth it. I’ve been listening to NOAA weather radio since way back when they had actual people reading the forecasts. Sometimes I listen just to put me to sleep! Nice to be able to stream at your fingertips rather than turn the radio on. EDIT: Keep in mind that the developer is not responsible for broken weather radio feeds. Most of these are volunteers (like myself) who set up a broadcasting stream from our weather radios for public use.
I’d be flooded without it!. Around 6 pm one evening in Starbucks, the NWS issued a flash flood warning for my county. I decided that then would be the time to drive home, as I listened to how severe the situation was with this app. It took me an hour to drive less than one mile to my house. Had I stayed, I would have been stranded. Truly, this app saves lives. It might even save you money on Midland NOAA radios, as this app does play valid SAME tones real time. Lastly, I found out that this app has the most weather stations available to the consumer, including exclusive ones.
NOAA is a must. I would give the app 5 stars because NOAA weather radio literally is a saver of lives. I used to live in tornado country and spent many hours in the basement listening to this app. I’ve lived all across the US and have always relied on NOAA for accurate extreme weather updates for my area. That is, until I moved to the one place where this app has to work. I live 5 miles East of New Orleans, where Katrina hit the hardest. I cannot lock on to a station nearby. I do get emergency alerts, thank the gods, but can’t listen to local broadcasts. Other than that I highly recommend this app.
Strong App. I just downloaded the app and am highly impressed. I’ve not seen an app with this much data that is easily available. It is very easy to set up the alert function for what area you need. The nature of my work requires that I track weather in various parts of the country. This app allows me to set up the areas and customize the alerts easily. Having actual weather radio available for other geographical locations is helpful as well. Great app.
You can buy a weather radio or simply download this app. I had a little portable weather radio that worked ok until my son decided to rip the antenna out if it. That sent me in the hunt for a weather radio again. I’m glad to have looked in the App Store and have found this app. It uses the backbone of all weather alerting and forecasting in NOAA and also NWS for the Radio. I appreciate not having to stick the radio near the window to get a good signal. Now all I need is wifi or cell service.
Wonderful App with Accurate Service. I absolutely love the National weather radio app. I use it constantly being in the Midwest with having all four seasons. Anytime bad weather comes, I immediately turn on the weather radio. What I love the most is that I get alerts for certain areas for weather concerns, my significant other travels for a medical team, so it’s a nice feature to have! I definitely recommend adding this to your phone!
Weather Radio. Our weather radio broke during a storm with tornado warnings . By installing this app I was able to sleep knowing that I would be alerted .No longer need to buy another radio since this app is on my IPhone. We also do a lot of travel with our camper and the app keeps us weather aware all over the country. Works great and we have never had a problem with it. I highly recommend it Otis Armstrong
Great App. I use this app every morning to know what my day is going to look like. I set the alarms for my house and my cabin up north. I usually know before most that the stuff is about to hit the fan. I don’t have anything negative to say about the UI. It’s very easy to use. This app saved me about $30. I was looking to buy a stand alone weather radio. I purchased this app instead and haven’t looked back. I highly recommend this app if you enjoy what’s going on outside without sticking your head out of the door.
NOAA Radio, well done! (Mostly). This app has weather forecasting at the tips of you fingers. From the warnings and watches to the graphical maps to the weather radio. My only gripe is the lack of a broadcasting stations. The only options listed are transmitting from weather forecast offices but does not include site based updates, say atop a local mountain. If you live in a dead zone the reports from the weather forecast offices may not cover your neck of the woods. Overall though, great app, thanks NOAA!
Not Broadcasting Stations Down. I got this app for safety reasons and have always enjoyed just having that repeater sound, kinda soothing. Well here is an honest review. The two local broadcast locations Im in between Morrestown TN and Bristol TN have been down for over 2 months. Actually were down during the BIG tornado that hit KY which Im a stones throw away from. When are you guys gonna get these stations back on air??? Those of us living in rural areas are depending on this station broadcasting. Please fix it before we have another natural disaster.
No good. I live in Sioux City, Iowa and when I connect to the weather station that is offered in my area, it comes up oops there’s a problem playing your station… I live just south east of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and just a hair north east of Omaha, Nebraska. I am able to get there Weather Radio feeds, but ever since I got this app a year or so ago, the weather station feed in Sioux City Iowa does not and will not work. This does me no good. I am a blind individual and I am walking out and about just about everywhere…I need a Weather Radio that works for my area. I have emailed the developers a few times in the last six months and have heard no responses. So, I give this app one star and say that it is no good.
Weather alert radio. My weather Radio went down and would not work we had bad weather coming toward us with tornadoes in the state but by the time they got to us they were of no consequences so I have not had a chance to really check it out although I can hear the noaa weather radio station which is a plus the only thing I can say is there’s too much to actually purchase extra for this app and it also would help to have a free preview. To see if you actually wanted to purchase it first maybe I’ll get a chance to try it out later to see if it actually works
LOUSY App —- Look elsewhere. When this app works, it’s great. Trouble is that it RARELY works! ☹️ Too many times when you tell it to connect to a NOAA Wx radio station, it just sits & spins trying to make the connection. If you go to your “real” Wx radio & check you’ll find that the NOAA station is broadcasting over the air but for whatever reason this app fails to connect to that station. For example tonight, I tried to connect to 4 different NOAA radio stations scattered around my area of central Florida; yet, this app just sat & spun & failed to connect to any of them. It could be a great app, if the development team would put more effort into figuring out why it doesn’t connect so many times. Or at least, provide some feedback to the end user when it doesn’t instead of just sitting & spinning.
Pay ONCE, No Subscription Fees!. I have used this app for years. It’s easy to use and I have been able to get tornado warnings closer to me and not entire counties away. I have packed away our old clunky weather radio for emergencies. I can control the volume on this;>) I bought it for my iPhone 4, then iPhone 5S etc. and have it currently on my iPhone 8+. I have only paid one time. No subscription fees. It is definitely worth way more than I paid.
New User. I am new to using the Weather Radio app, but I greatly appreciate having this with Noah inputs available. I work in an operations department with a local airport so it is critical that I can get advanced warnings on severe weather events in our area. I really appreciate being able to select my local weather radio broadcast in my area, as I find that my tabletop weather radio has poor reception due to building interference. Do you think a CCrsne radio would have better reception capability? I am learning to access and utilize the various NOSA charts that are available, and I would like more information on how to monitor the Skywarn Weather spotters‘s network. I don’t really know how to access their broadcasts currently. Is that available somewhere within this App? Thank you for making this app available for free! Roger Bowler
as a storm lover and chaser I love this!. I had a NOAA radio for years until it finally stopped working about a year or two ago. I’ve been looking and wanting a new one but then I found this app! It has it all and is very handy and helpful!! 🙌🏻 I definitely recommend! the only thing I’d have to say that would need changed in future is being able to keep the weather radio playing if you switch over to forecast maps and active watches and warnings!
Worked from Day 1. I have been struggling to find a quality app that provides push notifications for significant weather events. This app has ended my search! The night I downloaded it we were put under a Sever Thunderstorm Watch and sure enough, I was notified for my programmed county. I know this may seem like a little feature that should come standard on weather apps, but none I have used compare. Would highly recommended.
Great app with one exception. Lots of features including alerts when severe weather is in the area. Favorite locations so you don't have to scroll down the list. Radar maps. This app just replaced 2 other apps I had. The rewinding of the weather radio is a neat feature. Overall this is a well done app. I recommend it. One exception that prevents a 5 star is the ability to control what type of warnings you receive. I'm getting multiple alerts about fog in the area. I would like to be able to configure the app alerts for Tornado and Severe thunder storms only.
Why won’t they fix this?. I purchased this app years ago and have never been able to listen to my own city weather. I live in Springfield MO. When I put in the location on the app I get the station offline message. There is no reason for this station to be offline. My home radio has no problem connecting to the Springfield NOAA station located at the airport here. I’ve contacted the developer who have been no help. They try to tell me to listen to the Brandon station. That station is 40 miles from here and the weather report is not accurate for Springfield from Brandon. I paid for this app and there is no hope to get money back. Just make sure you check your city before you pay for it.
Replaced my trusty weather radio. I’m an outdoors guy that relies on accuracy when it comes to weather conditions. Having a NOAA on my iPhone is extremely valuable. This app does it all. I receive reports from all throughout my state, Texas, where spring weather can turn rough super quick. Super user-friendly, all data available & accurate and I have now officially retired my weather radio. Totally recommend this app if you are serious about your weather forecasts. Thanks
Just What I was looking for!. I am so glad I discovered this app for my five month trip across the south west to south east. I needed something to give me the heads up on severe weather. I didn’t want to bring a weather radio because the volume it may not be able to compete the engine noise. With my phone plugged into Car Play I am good to go! A real plus for me is this app locks in on to your location through gps. So I can drive from state to state and the app automatically keeps me posted to the weather miles and miles ahead. This app is a great investment for safety.
Crazy Texas Weather. Overall this app is great. The amount of info that it provides is amazing. I really appreciate the ability to customize the alert settings for your needs. I sometimes have issues getting alerts and have to go back and reset my alert settings. I like the availability of the NOAA radio but it seems to be limited to the stations I receive. It’s been a struggle to get local info when traveling around the country. Still, even with the quirks, it’s one of the most functional and handy apps to have!
Weather station constantly offline. Purchased this app a few months ago and have never been able to get the weather station for my area (Kansas City, MO) to work. The message has always appeared saying that the station is offline and to be patient as they work to restore the station. I have tried to go through the app support however the send icon is grayed out so I’m left to communicate this as a review. Will the Kansas City station ever work in this app? I live in an area where weather changes fast and had high hopes this app could add another layer of notification, however I haven’t experienced that as of yet.
Happy Weather Watcher. I am a definite weather watcher! I like to know what the weather will be each day especially if there is any severe weather headed our way. It’s nice to have that information at your fingertips whenever you need it, 24/7!! As a mater of fact there is severe weather headed our way Thursday and Friday, and I’ll be checking the weather a lot! Especially because of high winds. I appreciate having this information at my fingertips! Thank you! Debbie
My review as a blind person with their iPhone in VoiceOver mode. I have been blind for the past 15 years and I fish quite frequently. Living down here in Southwest Florida, one must be very aware of their current weather out on the water. I love this app; except for the simple fact that my particular NOAA weather radio station for Cape Coral Florida, comes in with a lot of static and distortion; it’s quite hard to hear, particularly if you’re out deep sea fishing in some rough water. I’m hoping The app developer will read this and fix the Cape Coral WeatherStation. Other than that I like this app.
Fantastic App. I’m writing to support the developer of this app and to relay how much I love it. Living in Florida the weather is subject to change at any time. Although there are weather radios, this app provides the same NOAA weather radio as the radios you can buy. This app is so much more convenient and can be checked at any time. I drive a motorcycle to work and check this app every morning before I leave or before bad weather strikes. I’d recommend this app to anyone wherever you live. You won’t regret it.
Used to be better .... I used to be able to play other stations in the app besides the one in my hometown. This was handy if I were traveling, or needed to track bad weather headed my way, as I am unable to view radar. Now, that feature doesn’t seem to be working, which is bad, as I have numerous stations in my Favorites list. Also, I haven’t figured out how to retrieve current conditions. The only one with an actual button is Warnings. Please either get these functions working again, or offer a tutorial on the app.
Phenomenal app. Love the layout. Haven’t used the notification feature yet, but it would be amazing if they could audibly alert you even if your phone was on vibrate. Naturally, being able to turn this feature on and off. I sleep with my phone on vibrate, but I’d like it to wake me up if a tornado is coming, etc. probably a lot harder to do than I know about, may not even be possible, just a thought. Overall though, great layout, easy to use.
A wonderful app but I’m having problems and I can’t get help.. I’m in no means trying to be hateful or disrespectful, I’ve written three or four emails about the same problem with receiving push notifications and I haven’t got a response. I had to do a reset on my phone and I tried to restore the Detailed Weather Alerts purchase but to no a-vale. I would appreciate any help on this I believe this is why I’m not receiving push alerts.
TX Panhandle. Reliable and accurate. Easy to use. Having family and friends scattered throughout the country I am able to check on weather in their areas when news of possible threatening storms may effect them. I grew up on the Gulf coast and enjoy reading maritime forecasts and updates. NOAA Radio is daily, if not hourly, checked by me. Living in the Panhandle of Texas, where weather conditions can change quickly, having an accurate and timely assessment of conditions can be a life saver. A great APP to have and to use.
Has consistently improved. Early versions of this app were simple- and clunky. The developers have consistently improved the product to what it is today. As I live in an area of the US that is prone to severe weather- I consistently use this app for its ability to alert due to NWS warnings and watches, as well as to access NOAA Weather Radio- and it’s ability to retrieve a variety of National Weather Service products. Great app- continues to improve. Simple and straightforward. Easy to use.
Weather Radio. We once had an actual weather radio but it was never reliable. After a neighboring city had a tornado, I decided it was time to be safe. I love this weather app! It notifies me to pay attention to dangerous weather on the way. Last week a tornado warning was announced and I was in my car. Which way to go? Weather Radio told me where the tornado was moving so I stayed away from that area. I recommend this app to all my loved ones because I want them to be safe.
Great Weather App, Many Features, Works Well, Works as Advertised. I was looking for a weather radio app that actually worked. I tried all the others including some not inexpensive pay ware. This one actually works. Plus, in addition to NOAA weather radio, it includes detailed ability to access alert types, multiple locations, a even weather radar (addition subscription required). I’m a trained spotter, amateur meteorologist, and first responder. You’ll want this app in your weather or emergency app toolkit.
A Super Weather Radio App. I really like this app. It’s great for when I am out and about and I need to listen to a broadcast. It also comes in handy when my weather radio I have loses signal. I love the features it has, and that you can listen to most of the stations across the US. One thing I would like to see though is a feature that can allow you to go back in time and listen to broadcasts from several years ago. It’d be cool to do that. I recommend this. It’s well worth the few dollars.
Great App!. This app has been a real upgrade. For years, we’ve bought the weather radio alert machines, and they would miss alerts, batteries would die, it would go off for wrong county, etc. This app has fixed all those problems. It goes off only for the counties you set, it automatically alerts you by your phone, and never is out of range or miss the alert. This has been helpful for the last 3 “unexpected” storms in our area. A really great app!
Must Buy! You won’t be disappointed.. As a NOAA Weather Radio Lover, now that I have several noaa weather radios at home and today I’ve just found out that now I can hear the weather radio now on my phone wherever I’m at!! Now anytime anywhere I can hear my weather radio just to see how the temperature or weather will be! Thanks NOAA weather radio for making this app! Been a fan and collecting weather radios at 12 years old and my favorita part is when a severe thunderstorm happens I enjoy the beeping🤭 now I’m 26.
