Good overall but needs a few tweaks. It works well. A previous review had an issue with the weather data not matching weather apps, but that is easily edited onscreen so it isn't an issue to me. I do wish you could input geocoordinates, for the location. This is an issue for me and my workers because we work in somewhat remote locations. Maybe in the next release

No longer works. Used to work great. Now it attempts to load data and crashes. This is happening ion 2 separate iPhone 7 (iOS 12.4). Does not even fully open before it crashes. Removed and reinstalled with same results.

Awesome but could be better. This app it awesome but I won’t give 5 stars. Because it should give you notifications of warnings or have a alarm of high heat index to tell you you need to get inside.

App crashes. We’ve downloaded this app on two separate IPhones. The app crashes 100% of the time when attempting to open. We would like to use the app, when will the CDC fix this bug-ridden program?

Great tool for everyone. I travel the country and have referred to this app in many places. It is always precise, accurate and very helpful. I love the precautionary, symptom and fist aide tabs….. Also available in Spanish so communication is not an issue. Love it and share it with everyone!

Watch app. Need a watch app with notifications

App is worth downloading. The app is great. Need to understand that the heat index is measured in shade with a light wind and may not be exact according to where someone is working. If in direct sunlight it will be 10-15 degrees hotter potentially. A good tool to generally understand the heat index and begin safety precautions. Wish it forecasted out a week.

Not working. Something is wrong with the app. If it works it works great. Right now it shuts down when trying to pull data.

Good overall. The app was great, but now has started crashing upon startup. Currently running on iOS 16.3.1 and no, I refuse to update my iOS due to being burned on that in the past on my iPhone 6S.

Stopped working. The app has worked well for our construction crews to check and record the heat index, the app stopped working approximately 2-weeks ago, can’t find anything to explain or how to fix.

Heat index. Crashing on opening after location is shared rendering the APP useless. This has changed since last summer as it worked perfectly before.

Temp off. Either the location services are off or bad. Reported temperatures and humidity are off by 7-10 degrees or points. Good idea, but may not be reliable. Will continue to check against weather apps.

Connection Error. We’re told to use this app at work and it never works right. First it wouldn’t open for weeks. It worked for a week after being updated and now it just won’t show any data. This is on both phones and the 15 other guys in my group.

Perfect quick reference. With work not having a heat break schedule in place, I would like to start using this simple tool as a reference to when it gets too hot. I’d like to request a push notification feature for when hazards reach the warning and danger zones. Or a heat index we can set based on our company heat break policy, if it gets established.

Doesn’t work anymore.. App worked great until a couple days ago. Doesn’t display any data. Constantly asks to refresh but the fails to do so. Maybe an update is needed?

Don’t use. The app doesn’t actually adjust throughout the day to what the actual temperature and humidity is, just what the forecast was. Right now, it says it’s 86 with a heat index of 92. But some showers that weren’t forecasted came through this morning and the temperature at the moment is actually only 80. So while it was forecasted to be 86 right now, it’s only 80 and the app says it’s currently 86 out. This can be incredibly dangerous if people are relying on this app and the temperature or humidity ends up being higher than originally forecasted. Do not rely on this app at all, basically just use it as a heat index calculator

Crashes 100% of the Time. Downloaded this app after attending an OSHA Heat Illness training program. Have not even been able to use the app because it crashes 100% of the time when I try and enter in my location. I’m sure the next time an OSHA inspector is on my job site and fines me $17k for not following proper heat stress protocols, when I tell him the app doesn’t work he will tell me that’s not an excuse. And I can only imagine how many millions of dollars the government spent on this unusable app.

Numbers are off. Used this app successfully last two years. It always matched the temperature and humidity for an accurate calculation. This year it’s off by several degrees. This is dangerous for me because I have a medical condition and must be inside when heat index reaches 104. Will have to look for another app that is more accurate. Very disappointed.

Helps has Alarm which is great. Need to be updated, when in danger it should read on same page when working outside in direct sunlight breaks should be rotated ever XYZ minutes, drink xyz liquid and shade. Also there should be the OSHA rule on the app. Reminders to everyone what happens if you have heat stroke or exhaustion. The part not talked about is after recovery, how you can no longer take the heat as you did. How this illness does XYZ to the body . Many do not know, and until educated wont. Unfortunately we can’t rely on all companies having the training resources. So at a minimum OSHA should add training to app., this I can promise will save a life and a few from getting the illness. That’s all you need is one to make this app pay itself off and 5 star rating. Chris South Carolina

Great App BUT Needs Spanish. Great app overall. It just needs to have the option of switching it to Spanish mode. Or better yet make a separate Spanish one for FLC contractors and supervisors. That would be deeply appreciated. Thanks

App is not operational. Currently this app is not operational on an iPhone. It opens, “loads”, and then exits out of the app. Have tried on other devices and have made sure devices are operating on the newest OS. Please fix so this tool is useful.

Was Once Good. I work in the wind industry and we used this app all the time to not over exert ourselves while 400’ in the air. But the app now only crashes after it is opened and has been this way for several months. Thanks OSHA for letting down all you brother and sister who work outdoors…….

Heat index. Work in agriculture and I depend on this app to see how hot it will be and for days now it has not been working I tap it and it just flash opens and closes. I deleted it and downloaded app again and the same thing happened fix it. Or I’m going with a different app.

Trying to request assistance. App is crashing whenever you try to open it. Tried to submit a ticket but it says that there is no reporting for this application. Is it a dead app now?

Was great, but keeps crashing. Recently downloaded this app and was really appreciating using this as a resource. But for the last week the app has been crashing on my personal and work phones. It needs an update.

Works for me. I work outside , middle of day, middle of summer every year all year. Have had this app for about 5 months now and it is my go to. Allows me to avoid days that are in extreme, shows what symptoms to look out for in heat related health issues and what to do when they happen. Breaks it down hourly, the temp and “feels like” categories. It overall I like this app.

Not working. This app used to work and when it did it was a great tool. Using iOS 17.4.1 and the app opens but crashes immediately. There are no updates to run so the app is useless. No updates for the phone either. No update in over 11 months. Hopefully someone can get this figured out.

It’s been updated. Had an issue that wouldn’t allow me to open it. It’s fixed now so everything’s kosher on my end

Seems to be, not reliable. This is always off and showing less heat, other apps more accurate in my opinion. Sometimes it just doesn’t work

Location function does not work. App shuts down after I give location permissions. If I don’t allow location access it shuts down when I do a location search.

App Issue. The application worked fine for years, but recently opens then immediately closes. The app is to important not to work properly on my phone

Valuable !!. It’s a the right Tool! It’s useful and I’m smarter dealing with the heat. ( I’m proactively plan for this summer heat wave)

Constant Errors. Ironically this app only seems to work when you aren’t in a danger zone for heat index. I use this app for work and every time time we check around noon or when we know the heat index should be high the app has an error. I have it two stars because when the app works it’s very good, but in an error state you can’t even look at the other tabs like symptoms.

App Not Loading. The app will not load. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling but that is not working. App closes out automatically after opening. Please fix!

Embarrassing. This app is constantly 7-10 degrees cooler than the actual temperature. I don’t know how it’s possible to be that far off or where this app gets it’s info, but it’s embarrassing for OSHA. Especially considering that the app is designed to help people work safely in hot temperatures.

Stopped working. Worked great last year. Went to start using it this year as the temps started to warm and it will not open. I liked it when it did work though.

Does not work at all. How is this OSHA approved, when it can’t even stay open on my cellphone? I had just downloaded it and went through the tutorial panels… just for it to close the app and go back to my Home Screen. I tried reopening it several times… just to have it constantly close down again within— Not even a second! I saw the low stars and thought I’d give it a try despite the reviews. Shame on me to ignore other people’s warnings. Such a shame for a truly helpful idea of an app.

Needed for work. I need this for my job to justify any variations from time used for completing duties — however the heat indexes on this ap are lower than both Weather Underground and The Weather Channel — how are they all not the same? Is this giving inaccurate data?

No longer works.. I've used this app for close to 11 years since I work outside. It's worked perfectly up until now. Now the app doesn't even open up correctly. It opens at immediately closes. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app but it doesn't help.

Great app but.... I loved this app and used it daily to determine if it was safe to play tennis or other outside activities here in Florida. Today was the first time I opened the app and it opens secures my location then closes before I can see any data. I have removed and reinstalled from the app store but still doesn't work 😒 Please fix!

Not very useful. Actual local readings would be better for heat index monitoring. The only alerts it provides are timers. Every smart phone already has this functionality, so it’s redundant. If the app provided push alerts when heat index exceed a given level, it would provide some value.

Constant Crashes. Used to work on my iPad and iPhone fine. Both are up to date with the latest iOS versions. Heat Index app now opens and promptly closes when trying access it.

Crashes. Ever since the last update, the app has been so unstable. When opening and and all goes to locate area you are in and it just crashes.

Not updating/Loading. App was perfect with location and temperatures. I loved the gauge to tell you if you were in danger or needed to take precaution. The past week it has not loaded or updated. Please fix.

App back to its trusted condition. I am a safety manager and have used this for years.

In accurate. My weather app is showing a much higher temp than this one. As someone whole works with animals outside I need it to be accurate

Canada refuse use that Heat app. I did install app but it’s notice said not accept in Canada in just USA only period.. useless deletes it!!

Great info. As everyone else has pointed out, this doesn’t work in Canada. It’s a US Government app, and likely pulls its location info from a US government source, hence the lack of Canadian data. Makes sense, we don’t pay their taxes to have them do their weather for us. That said, it still provides some helpful information for heat casualties and treatment, and if you insist on using an the app instead of just looking up an old fashioned chart, you could always game the app by using a weather app to get the “feels like” and then finding somewhere in the States with a similar one.

Will not work in Canada. Won't work in Canada, or at least not in Newfoundland.

Does not work in Canada!. It should be a simple fix to make this work in Canada. It’s a shame that we cannot use the tool here!

Keeps crashing. Deleted app and reinstalled and stills crashes. Used to work great. But not anymore. Too bad, it was a great app for working outside.

Doesn’t work. All I’ve ever gotten from it is “Unable to load weather data from your area.” My “area” is Houston, Texas, one of the largest cities in America.

Not reliable. I am a safety inspector and I need this application. The previous version was perfect but now this app is not accurate, is not reliable. A waste of time using this app.

Not accurate temps.. This app shows consistently lower than actual temperatures for the same area. Recently it was off by over 7° (95 vs 102 actual). That’s not helpful or safe.
