Weather Navigation for Car! App Reviews

Working well entry sub plan a bit high. This app is working well so far and looks good. The nag banner is annoying and i would gladly upgrade to a subscription level plan to support the app and do away with the banner and and get ten minute updates instead of twenty for around 10-15$ a year but 30$ is too much considering the level of use. As the old adage goes,. Half of something is better than all of nothing. Give us cheapskates a lower entry point.

Astronomically high price for minimal functionality. I have a weather all that has watch and phone widgets getting weather data often that cost less than this app, which gets used from time to time (not to mention a million more features). There’s no world that it should cost as much as this does. Also, forcing music on the purchase screen is awful.

Does update quick enough.. Used on a cross country trip. The weather only updates every 10mins or so. My experience was that I would have already driven through the storm front before it shows on the screen. Not impressed with the navigation either. I’ll stick with Waze and local weather radar.

Pretty good. Needs a few more features. I wish I could search destinations by points of interest. I would also like to have updates regarding speed traps like Waze or Apple Navigation. I do like this app for my motorcycle. I had to buy a CarPlay unit for the bike so I can use it, as the navigation works in CarPlay but on as a stand alone app on the phone. The maps are accurate, the navigation good, and the weather helps me avoid small storm cells here in Florida.

Nothing special here. The paid version is giving you nothing more then other apps are for free. It’s a hefty price and its not that great.I would like to see a live radar image moving . You may say its not possible but yet you advertise this to sign up for the pro version. Misleading . I dont trust anybody that resorts to such tactics. Im getting all this app does free from MyRadar . With a nicer interface. For FREE. Why would I pay for this . Give me something that nobody else does and I dont Ming paying for it. Give me a live moving image with temperature forecast in a uncluttered view. The iPhone version is OK but on CarPlay none of those features are there. so not worth it.

Best weather app for any late model car!. Extremely informative and well thought out. An absolute pleasure to use and own! I recommend this app to EVERYONE! Well worth the money and a prayer answered for those in unpredictable weather, like Indiana!

A lot of promise but some annoying features. First the Go Pro upgrade is persistent and never goes away even on the Car Play display side Weather being delayed 2 Hours is ridiculous since other free apps are delayed maybe 30 seconds No Auto Zoom Does not Follow location Does not show current speed or speed limits that every other app does Extremely disappointed

CarPlay issues. The weather view comes on as expected, but it won’t go away when a different CarPlay selection is made. It also overrides the cars navigation program, making them unusable. I deleted the Weather App for CarPlay

Doesn’t Work. Tried to use the app. Upon immediately opening none of the UI elements or buttons do anything when clicked. Looks like a frozen screen. Behaviour persists even after force closing the app. Timer in upper left appears to countdown while this behaviour is occurring. No idea what the timer is indicating as it’s not labeled.

Great app, just need a few fixes.. Great concept. Well needed for CarPlay. I’ve been waiting on this for a while. The only thing is that you can’t listen to your radio or music while using navigation. At least I’m having that problem. Can you get that fixed?

No good. I do not like the navigation of it and it will tell you what road to turn on, but it will not tell you to turn when you’re getting close to it like your other companies do ..you pass the road and It will tell you to drive ..when you’re driving and you don’t need to be looking down at the screen all the time to see where you’re supposed to turn at so now I do not like it and I’m gonna cancel it. Thanks for trying.

Doesn’t work. I paid for the pro version. I was driving through heavy rain for much of I-5. The map displayed no rain. I checked my free weather app and it displays plenty of heavy precipitation in the area I am driving through. Another company trying to make a quick buck. Glad I only paid for monthly upfront.

Wonderful. My current car did not have a navigation and weather radar——until now. I really am pleased. Thank you for such a wonderful product.

In dark mode. The update to pro banner blocks out so much of the map and over powers the map display that it renders it useless to the point of reverting back to Waze. Tell me how to kill the banner and I might log enough time on the app to invest in the pro update.

Worthless app. Tried to opt in for the pro, but every time I touch the screen nothing it’s like it locked itself off. There’s a countdown timer on the upper left hand of the screen when it comes down floating and then nothing it goes right back to the countdown time againcannot enter any information cannot touch any of the settings just there

Lacking Reliable Features. Just cancelled my trial subscription. Search feature worked sporadically then when I clicked on what it found the route only came up about 10% of the time. The screen colors didn’t match Apple CarPlay colors and it took too many steps to try to match CarPlay. The speed limits did not display on the screen.

Too Slow To Be Useful. The radar was more than 2 hours behind and didn’t reflect the current conditions in my area. Also have to pay to use the navigation feature. …..and don’t get your hopes up for being able to use it for navigation. When you tap on the destination button it will ask you to sign up tor a subscription. Not worth paying money for when it is so delayed. Would be nice if they had a free option that included navigation features

Not ready for prime time. I really wanted to like this app as i’ve wished for radar on carplay for a long time. Alas, it’s way too buggy. Updates are every 10 min, too slow. If you try to zoom in, big chunks of the radar dissapear. The zoom and move map buttons don’t work at all. I canceled during my free trial and maybe someday this will be worth having.

Glitches…. Struggles to locate where you are and it does not have a loop feature to show direction of weather travel. It’s nice but not what I was expecting, especially when it struggled to find my location while driving in a populated area with good cell coverage.

App will not stop sending notifications. I’m sure the weather is fine on this and we use it when we travel with our RV, but the developers need to stop putting the notifications whether we like it or not. I don’t need to have the stupid weather app pushing me to look at it with the push notification every single time I turn on my iPhone. It’s extraordinarily annoying and I want to stop using the app just because of this issue alone. I installed the app, I paid for it and I know that it’s there. I don’t need you to remind me every single time I turn on my phone.

2 hour Delay. 2 hour delay make this on the go app terrible. 2 hours couple put the weather 50 miles away. Most aviation oriented apps are delayed from 7-15 minutes. Subscription apps can be real time. Sorry just not useful. All show but worthless.

Works. It seems to work. But the subscription is much too expensive. It's really something apple should provide as part of Weather. If the cost we're reasonable id go for it.

Revised! Not quite what I expected. After using the app on a cross country motorcycle trip, it worked amazingly well! I am very pleased with this app and have already recommended it to other riders. The app is great but seems to not open to the current location without opening the app on the phone, which defeats the purpose. I can do that on any radar app. Still playing with it. ** After changing the location services to always on, it seems to work as I hoped it would.

useless. I'm not sure I understand the point of this app. I already have this and two Weather format systems on my phone that both appear in my car if I want them these weather systems aren't moving their stationary on the map, so what's the point you're showing the same thing other weather app show and there's move to show the direction of the weather. This thing doesn't do anything, oh well that's what you get for free

Not worth the money. Radar images are clear but it only updates on 10 minute intervals and there is no animation feature so unless you want a single image every 10 minutes this is pretty much garbage for tracking weather

Glitchy. Tried to use this on a recent trip from the Midwest to the east coast. Many times the app timed out, couldn’t locate destination and the few times we did get it to work, it would reset when we stopped for gas. This app needs a LOT of work to be on the level of other navigation apps. Deleted and unsubscribed.

Cool concept but not usable without paying. App itself works fine. However it’s missing a lot of detail information like road or city names would be helpful. If you plan to use it without paying, it’s pretty much useless, huge banner on the bottom of the screen to buy pro version. And yes radar is not real time which is understandable but finding I’m only able to use 60% of screen makes it useless and distraction

It’s Ok….Needs TLC. I tried this app and decided to do the 7 day 1 yr plan. I have driven through two thunderstorms yesterday and the radar showed nothing. Ten minutes later, it showed rain….where I had just traveled. Just like the TV Meteorologist…. Might get it right. Might not. Never know

Try before you buy.. Welp, there went 15 bucks. Absolutely do not pay for this app before you’re positive that it works. I foolishly believed that the “$3 a week” meant that if I cancelled early I wouldn’t pay the full $15. Alas that’s impossible. Willing to delete this review if the app developers cancels my purchase…but not holding my breath!

Needs Work. Navigation lags at times and doesn’t give good options. Banner direction is too big, covers quarter of the map.

Good, for now…. I remember when Pioneer head units had a proprietary free app that displayed weather info among other things. Even since then I wish for CarPlay to have something similar. This app is OK but way too pricy for the casual user, in my opinion. Maybe truckers wouldn’t mind the monthly fee for the pro version, which removes the annoying yellow banner that purposely blocks about 1/5 of the screen. I’m not saying that the app doesn’t work as intended, but it wouldn’t surprise me if sooner than later they’ll be more CarPlay compatible weather apps options at more reasonable prices. I’ll just wait ⏳

Promising. I’ve been in search for an app that would include weather conditions and navigation all in one. This app is promising , but has some limitations and is over priced for subscription. I loaded it up and took it for a test drive. After entering a route, I initially turned the wrong direction and the app was incapable of recalculating and getting me back on destination. Next I noticed there are no options for various voices. The supplied voice is very robotic. Reminded me of very early generation nav systems. In conclusion, with a few upgrades and a realistic annual subscription fee, this app can go places. As is, I’ve cancelled my subscription and will continue looking.

Too many useless notifications. I like the concept and the info provided. But it cranks out useless notifications like the developer gets paid for them. I will go on a short trip and find the app has sent 4 or 5 “look at me” notifications. Highly annoying. Almost as bad as apps that use notifications to send ads.

Nice thought, but crippled unless you buy Pro.. I definitely like the idea of this, and I get it, developers need to make money. I also get that it would be difficult to serve ads here. So it would make sense to remove some features unless you get a pro version. That said, crippling the main feature, just isn’t it. Unless you have the pro version, the radar is delayed by two hours. If you’re using this to track or avoid storms, then that can set you back quite a bit. There has to be a better way than crippling the main feature.

Very bad don’t waste your money. The GPS directions don’t work well. Keeps loosing routes. Can’t adult map to always point north. Has difficult time working with Apple car play. Would rather use Apple, Waze or Google maps and switch between live weather radar. I had high hopes for this since I’ve been looking for an app like this for riding motorcycles. Very disappointed. One star is more then I should give it

Apple Weather App Does The Same. Apple weather app already has a radar feature. If you have the free version of this app it offers nothing more than the apple app. In fact on the apple app you can see a forecast/few hours ahead, which you can’t do on this. This app has a giant advert/banner asking you to upgrade to pro, and many functions require paying. Sorry but can’t recommend.

Useless. If you don’t pay for “premium “, which is exorbitantly priced, it only updates every 20 minutes. A storm could be here and gone by then! What’s the point?! I could just pull over and look at a FREE weather app just as easily. Don’t bother with this app.

Not useful for motorcycles. Looks like it could be a decent app to have if weather is accurate however it does NOT have the feature to avoid interstates, etc like the other mapping programs have. Add this feature and I’ll look at it again. Not sure how many stops it allows but should allow at least 15-20 for good routing.

Buggy but good.. This has been my favorite CarPlay radar app but it is very erratic. I’ve experienced crashes, missing rain, missing arrows, white grid maps, and wet roads that won’t disappear when the rain is gone. I emailed the developer with no response. Even with the flaws, I will probably still subscribe.

Very helpful app!. I’m a Pro subscriber. Love the app! There are some (road condition?) icons however that I don’t know what they mean. Where can I find a legend that tells me what every icon means?

I find this of little value or function. Seemed unreasonable that they would even charge for something as poor as this. Usability is practically missing altogether. When it is something usable maybe then you would consider charging? I use SiriusXM Traffic + SiriusXM Travel Link which shows active weather within 10 minutes if real time.

Great idea but could use some improvements. Great idea and used it on a trip from MN to TX. One thing that drives me nuts that for the life of me I can’t understand is why I am stuck with north up. PLEASE add support for track up.

Too Many Notification (Trial). I am, or was, trialing the app. Yesterday I received ten (10) notifications. Annoying ’nags’ are to be expected when trialing an app; but 10 in a day are waaaay over the top. For that reason I sent a query to their Customer Support and uninstalled pending their response.

Time to destination is always 20 minutes off.. There is no way to adjust the map north is always up. The green highlight is slightly difficult to read.

Weather car play. If it showed the current temperature in the place where u are that would be great

Not perfected yet. For such an expensive app there are too many bugs and poor navigation directions. App crashed often. Turn by turn navigation is very poor. This app needs lots of upgrading before it’s worth the price.

Pricy for what it is. It’s nice to finally have a weather radar app on CarPlay, but $70/year is pretty steep. The app is just a basic radar which you’ll find in most free weather radar apps. RadarScope is only $10/year and provides MUCH better radar resolution and lots of different radar scans - granted, it is phone only.

Works with CarPlay but not always accurate. As the only radar available for CarPlay at the moment I went ahead and subscribed. However features are limited, no loops, no watch boxes. I planned to use this for CarPlay and rely on my regular apps for better weather information. However, just 3 weeks in and I’m already noticing inaccurate radar. Tonight I was driving from west to east with a strong storm line moving west to east behind me. Just as the storm started to hit me, this app was telling me the storm was 20 miles east of my current position. Meaning the storm was already past me even though it was just catching up to me. A minute later radar said it was behind me. Then a few minutes later it was 20-25 miles in front of me. But never with me as I drove through the storm. Confirmed with two different weather apps that the radar was way off on this app.

Great concept bad advertising.. I got the app because I kept seeing it on Facebook. It is a great idea! However upon downloading it it wants me to pay 70 bucks for the year to get live radar. Radar being delayed 2 hours isn’t helping me any when I’m traveling now.

Useless unless you pay big bucks for pro version. This sort of app is absolutely needed, but this isn’t it. Useless unless you buy the pro app service for a very premium ongoing price. Radar is delayed by 2 hours without pro version. I will be uninstalling it.

Hard to use.. Unable to work out how to start navigation. Not very simple. Expensive for what it does do.

Not useful. App looks to offer exactly what I have wanted. But without paying an exorbitant subscription fee it’s features are useless. Radar delayed 2 hours makes the entire thing meaningless. Instead of viewing it on CarPlay , I can view dozens of free live radar apps completely free. The feature would be nice , and maybe I would pay to buy an app that includes live with a one time fee. But not an option.

Not much to it. Well. I don’t really see how this works , at all. Just shows me a map. No weather ever shows up.

Very slow to reload and not accurate.. Bought the lifetime service. Hard to use because of delays in the loading.

Radar delayed. Radar is delayed by 2 hours. Tell us upfront so we do not waste our time. Have to pay money if you want current but you cannot even tell if it works well since it starts you with delayed. Waste of time.

Slow. This app is just too slow. The radar doesn’t stream and takes much to long to update. I live in area that has tornadoes so I need a much faster app.

Do Not Buy!!!!. I was excited to have up to date weather information in my vehicle. I paid for the Pro so no delay in the information. But I’m still getting a 2 hour delay and they kept my money!!!!

Not reliable and too expensive. The actual radar seems to only appear about 50% of the time on Carolay and the cost is ridiculously laughably over priced. If they fixed it so it worked well and it was a reasonable price. It would be a good app.

All for profit.. To access any of the features, even current radar you MUST pay to play. The free version is no weather on route and has a radar that is delayed by 2 hours. Gross.

Wait for your weather. This app has potential… if you want to PAY for it. If you decide you don’t want to pay for it your radar feed might be from 2 hours ago or even yesterday!

No help. Data is two hours old unless you pay for premium. Two hour old info is no help on the road.

Less than 1 star. It’s not even an overlay. It’s their own mapping app that is free to look at but not use. Can’t even silence the the stupid music from a car when looking at pricing plans. Money grab garbage.

Greedy monthly fee or it’s worthless. Ridiculous weekly fee wanted for info to be up to date. Plenty of free weather apps on the phone for free. They can choke on the greedy subscription.

Pay to try!. Cool idea for an app but the free version doesn’t show enough to pay for it. All you see is 2 hour old radar info. I guess you have to pay to see relevant current radar and check out navigation. No thanks.

Concept good but tons of bugs. App concept is what we need for CarPlay but radar is not in the “live” 2 minute window. Also some times parts of radar does not load.

Awful! CarPlay is not working and totally unresponsive. Got excited to get this app to see weather on CarPlay screen just to find out that the app couldn’t be launched from my CarPlay unit. It’s not clickable, period. You expect us to pay $70/year for this??? Stay way

Weather display. Poor quality display of weather. The image is very dim, it does not look like the weather displayed in the advertisement.

False advertising. They show a moving radar loop in their advertising. Guess what, it’s fake. The loop doesn’t move. Get MYRADAR instead. Way better than these scammers!

1/3 of the screen is an ad to upgrade. The app is ok but the idiotic ad is annoying. It covers 1/3 of my screen. So deleting app. Not paying the ridiculous price for these apps.

$70/yr sorry nope. Looks good on my phone except for the giant banner ad to purchase the premium version. Basically makes the free version worthless. Sorry but I’m not paying $70/yr for any App.

Great Carplay app. Finally we have app with live radar on Carplay screen.

Not good. Every time you add a stop, the app freezes and you can’t do anything. Too much money for too little information.

Not as advertised. App doesn’t have anywhere near the functionality as the advertisement indicates. Waste of money at this point.

Not Free. This app is NOT free and you must buy a subscription to basically do anything. The app does not show that it has in app purchases which is misleading.

Bad app. Can’t believe they expect you to wait for two hours. You could get blown away by tornado by then shame on them for doing this.

Bad app. Like the concept of the app but when I put in a destination it freezes up after 2 min. Rest it put in the destination 2 min into it freeze up.

Not giving information. Not giving any information until I try it out. Let us try it for a week without subscriptions. Deleted.

New version introduced lots of carplay bugs. Carplay no longer respects dark mode for maps. Icons and arrows dont always show until you manipulate the map.

Useless!!. Unless you pay for the pro version this is absolutely useless because the radar has a 2 hour delay! Idc where it was raining 2 hours ago! This is absolutely ridiculous.

Horrible. Absolutely nothing works on this app. The only way to improve it, would be to delete it off the App Store so no one else has to suffer the aggravation of trying to use it. I’d give it zero stars if it let me

Long Delay. You can use this free as long as you don’t mind a 2 hour delay. If you want live weather, you pay $70yr. How stupid is that? That’s like $10 for each time I would use this app!

Totally worthless. Won't allow you to even try it without paying. In the "Free" version the radar is delayed 2 hours. Lol. What a joke.
