Use it every day so far. This app has a lot of potential. I want to thank the developers for giving it to us for free! You can learn independent vocab and characters on this, but not grammar and phrases. I will probably stop using it when I master the symbols they have on here right now, though, unless they can add more lessons.

Something went wrong. App opens for a second then closes automatically. Will not open to access lessons.

Learning Chinese. I like this app because it makes it easier to learn having the picture, the word in Chinese and the word in English, in another it makes it so much easier learning like that

Too early to tell... but the matching photos are clear. Voice often is not clear when going through the test. This app might work for quick visual reviews, although the audio's volume is too low even with the iPhone's volume all the way up. Developer asks for a review after 5 minutes of usage, so it's too early to tell. The pictures are good quality (the photo of a 15-year-old mobile phone made me laugh, though, and I then noticed how dated these photos of "technology really are ... haha)

Learn Chinese. It is great because it lets you understand the words and then take a quick test to see how well you know them!

Easy to use. This app is a quick way to add important information not focused on by some of the other apps, so it is a great addition to your learning plan.

Good start but needs some improvement. A good start to learn extra vocabulary for those who have a basic understanding of Mandarin and its tones. However, for beginners it would be better with tonal marks on pinyin as well as stronger emphasis on the spoken tones. Definitely good as a start and hopefully it can be improved upon in the future.

The best learning app. This app is really good coming from a guy in basis. It really helps you study for a whole test only if you give it your all😃😃😋👍👌

I like it!. Even though I just got the app and just finished lesson 3 I feel this app is helping me learn Chinese, but I feel that they should pronounce the words a bit more clear. Other than that I love the app!

Good app for beginners. The system of matching pictures and vocabulary is great. There are a occasionally words that are hard to hear. The sound effects are too loud. I would like separate volume control for the voices and the bells and noises. It might also be helpful if they added tone indicators to the pinyin. I am very happy there is only Chinese and pinyin with no other languages. The only exception might be the Yale phonetic translation. Overall a great app!

Amazing App. This is a great app taught me quick. I wish they taught me more how to speak the words and not the characters. Still great though. A must have for learning Chinese.

Learning Chinese. This app is an excellent start if you are planning to learn Chinese! It starts with the basics and slowly advances at your own pace!! Definitely recommended for first timers!

Beware. Wan Peng is a scammer. He hired us to promote Epic Cards Battle 6 months ago and never paid us the 900 USD he owed us. His apps are doing just fine, with incomes over 20 thousands USD per month but he refuses to pay hard working people. We almost went out of business becasue we worked 10 days constantly for the app and barely managed to pay our bills. Please do not download wan peng apps because you will take part of his scam operation.

Needs further development. The vocabulary is too limited in each lesson, and all of the pinyin lack tone marks, one of the most important things for learning 普通话. It's good enough for an app nobody needs to pay for, which is why I gave it as many stars as I did, but I would like to see a lot more added onto this.

Neat app to use with other apps & modalities. Cute app that helps with vocabulary building however could use some additional features as other reviewers have noted. I use this in conjunction with two other apps and actual books.

Needs work. This app needs some work. As someone who took Chinese in college, I know for a fact that without tone marks and wrong pronunciation you can be saying something completely different. You think you’re saying one thing (something innocent) but you could be saying something completely different (maybe something inappropriate or offensive). NONE of the pinyin has tone marks. They are also missing lessons. They only have lessons 1, 2, 7, 12, and 21. And none of these lesson le are teaching you grammar or sentence structure, it’s just vocabulary. Other than that the use of pictures is wisely used but overall needs major work. Especially if I can get Duolingo for FREE and it’s correct with pinyin and grammar/sentence structure.

Funny way to learn Chinese. The app is a pretty fun and easy way to learn some Chinese words. Not anything in-depth, but it's enough to learn some words. Wish it had some of the structural components of the language to teach.

Good. I like the lessons and the quizzes, they help me learn quickly. The only downside is that there are no tonal marks, and the idea is that you will just learn them naturally, so it is not ideal for beginners. Also, there should be more lessons, but overall this app is good for someone learning Chinese and already knows the basics!

Great App. I wish the pinyin had tone marks, but other than that it's really good for helping the user to associate the characters with a picture and a pronunciation. I'm trying to learn how to read. So I think with will really help with that.

You get what you pay for.. Good set up, but I agree with other reviewers that the robotic voice is not helpful at all. I like the flash card setup however. App needs work if it is for beginners, but overall I think it is intended for an intermediate student.

Great. Just learning so this is easy to use so far. Sometimes it's hard to hear exactly what they say, glad they have the picture with the phonetic way to say it as well as how to write it.

Has potential. I like the ease of use the app has, but the content itself needs work. The pinyin lack tones, which would make it difficult and confusing for the user to expand their Chinese vocabulary and understanding of the language. I like that it's free, because I think more westerners should study Chinese, and that the information should be easy to access. For being free and developing, not horrible. But, like I said, it needs work.

Fun!. Got this before I went to China. Helped A LOT with number pronunciation and character writing. Now that I have returned and gained some familiarity of the language, the lessons are being solidified. Fun app, needs more content though.

Excellent app. Simple and straight to the point. Uses a picture recognition system similar to Rosetta Stone and is very effective at retention. Would definitely suggest it. More lessons are needed.

My daughter enjoy the app. I study Chinese in china for a while and I try to teach the language to my children and seems like they enjoy the app so far but I have to explore it more. Good for beginners!!!

Far From Complete. Ok to learn some vocab if you already have some Chinese language experience. But this app is not a complete product that can teach you Mandarin from the beginning. It doesn't even show you stroke order.

My review. I think its great for starters but it needs little improvement like better vocabulary and needs to improve the sound so the person can understand it easier.

Great. This is great I can see which one is right and compare it with the other pictures help me to remember not to chose the wrong one.

Very easy to navigate. I got these for my kids (9,6 and 4) and the setup is very easy for them to navigate by themselves, I look forward to more units for them to work on.

I couldn't use it. the app would open up for a quick second but then crash and I would have to go back and click on it multiple times but to start it would take forever ! When I was in the middle of a lesson it would crash and erase EVERYTHING I honestly got so annoyed by the app and even damaged my phone of the frustration.

Basic yet helpful. Needs more lessons!. This app is similar to Rosetta Stone; however, it needs more lessons and the layout is a bit basic. With time, this will be a great app! No question that it's useful in its current version.

Single lessons downloadable, beware of bundles. I enjoyed the first lesson, but I was disappointed that to download the lesson bundles you must download games unsolicited by the user. I would rather pay for the app than download things of unknown character. Could tonal markings be added to the lessons?

Great!. The one problem is that there aren't they many lessons. However, all the ones they have are free, and they add more. This is a great way to learn words and symbols, and the app is perfect for when you just have a few extra minutes.

Nice. I'm terrible with languages but this helped me quite a bit, even with just these few lessons! I like the picture word combo helps me a lot cause I'm very visual

Great! Wish there were more free lessons. I was a mandarin major in college and bring to keep up with my language skills is great. Just wish there were more free lessons and a bit more advanced ones.

Very useful. Haven't used it much yet but so far it's been exactly what I need. My pronunciation is bad and I know very little vocabulary so this has been very helpful as a beginner

Easy to use. Very easy to use interface but not sure I would be pronouncing the words correctly if I actually had to speak Chinese. A little bit difficult to hear the exact pronunciation.

Really good. The only thing is tht they need to make sure tht the pronunciation is clearer because you might be learning to say it just a little bit wrong and end up saying something you hadnt intended to say

Great for beginner and review. I loved the quick learning process of this app. I have a short attention span being diagnosed with ADHD. I did 100% on the first lesson just fine. I can't wait to learn to write pinyin.

Good idea, poor execution. There are no tonal marks on the pinyin, and the voice reading the vocabulary is robotic and, consequently, does not pronounce tones emphatically enough. Although this is obviously seen as a useful form of flash cards by most of the above reviewers, it doesn't convey the tonal aspect of Chinese at all and would only be of use to intermediate beginners whom already have a grasp of the fundamentals but wish to practice vocabulary.

Awesome. This is such an awesome app. Ever since Chinese came in my old elementary school, I've wanted to take it but i was a grade too high. But then I found this app so… know I learning and having fun. The problem is that there are hardly any lessons. Please fix.

Sound is cut off, too fast and pronunciation is off. The app itself (subject matter, format, etc) is great for what I need, but the speech part is way off!! I got this for my 6yo to relearn Mandarin after he lost it due to living in a foreign country for two years and having to catch up on language. I can’t tell if they have a Cantonese person trying to speak Mandarin or something else is wrong, but it’s off. Mandarin is my mother tongue so I’m not making this up.

This Westerner is learning. Speaking from a complete new learner perspective. Like a child, I'm learning animal names, numbers, and pretty basic stuff so far. But it is simple to use and so far I'm learning. And free is good!

So far so good. The app doesn't currently have many lessons, but so far the lessons they give are pretty good. Did the animal lesson in two minutes and passed the test with a perfect 100 ☺️

Excellent. I really like how this app is designed. It's helping me gain a simple understanding with the characters and pronouncing the words. I wish there were more lessons though, but the ones offered are free and that's nice.

Only does half the job. Sadly this app only teaches part of Chinese words as there are no tone markings or pronunciation guides. Also it only shows the new characters and no traditional characters. There is much room for improvement. Don't waste your money on this.

Teach Chinese, BUT NO PINYIN !!??!!. The menus are useless. These apps are to teach Chinese. If I am a learner, HOW STUPID to show the Chinese chars but have NO pinyin. The pinyin shows the tones so if you can't tell the sound from the speaker then you can align it properly. Some people (those that wrote this) are too stupid to know that????

Toms review. Need to do a few more lessons to give and accurate rating. Enjoying it so far but would be better if the lessons finished with you being able to go back and listen to all the answers

Great app. This is fantastic if you're just starting out and need some survival words, but also good even if you speak a bit of Chinese already but have a few gaps in the vocabulary. My only quibble is that it doesn't indicate the tones which I think you need for really learning correct pronunciation, rather than just parroting the voice.

Helpful in learning to understand basic spoken words. Helpful in learning some basic spoken words in Chinese. Feedback to know whether the student is pronouncing it correctly would be more helpful. Also perhaps, a demonstration of how to write the character and be able to practice writing in onscreen with, again, some feedback to know if it s correct.

Agree with good idea poor execution. There are other inexpensive app on the App Store that do a much better job. Main problem is the lack of tones on pinyin, but the app is clumsy, and doesn't compare well to others.

Where are the tonal marks?. The app is very easy to use but how can you not have tonal marks? That is so basic and essential to learning pinyin. On a personal note, the "gong" that sounds when you select correct answer is annoying. Find something more light and pleasant.

Great vocabulary review. Really helps with character recognition. Excellent supplement to more detailed Chinese study. Pinyin diacritics would be really helpful. But for now, it's an excellent tool to drill vocabulary and characters.
