Great when traveling. We travel a lot. One day we were over 3000 miles away from our home. VIVINT called my cell and notified me someone had entered our home and the police has been called. As far as I am concerned, this system has more than paid for itself.

Worthless for watching video clips. I have had Vivint since 2017 and everything g worked great until recently. I can not watch a video clip on my IPhone XS, since a week or so ago. I have contacted customer support they tell me it’s my internet, o thing has changed there either. I can watch them from a computer, if it was my internet it wouldn’t work there either. Going to start looking for a new company as they can’t get there stuff together.

Peace of Mind...even if you ARE paranoid!. Easy doin'! Remote control is everything, being able to set the system after you've already left is invaluable. Especially the notifications that give the ability to keep tabs on who's coming and going, with a reminder to help stay on it if you DO forget! User friendly and too easy! Well done! Notifications have a surplus of options, but a central contacts list for users would be helpful!

Horrible app. I don’t know where my last review went but I can tell you it’s not showing on here. This app is worthless. Complete trash. If it doesn’t freeze on you when you’re switching cameras (granted it even loads and opens at all) then it will just not do anything. Yesterday I received about 30 notifications that someone was opening my door and at my door and my front yard. Non stop for about 20 minutes. I was literally looking through the door window at nobody. I had to reboot the system for the 1000 time since I’ve owned it. We are readying ourselves to switch to another service. We can’t even feel comfortable going away because nobody will be home to sort out the Vivint issues.

Doesn’t seem to support multitasking. If I don’t keep the app on the screen with my iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch awake after executing a command it usually won’t complete the command. Which means I have to keep starting at my device until it’s done—which usually takes an unacceptable amount of time. The Vivint app doesn’t even show up in the “background app refresh” settings, so it would seem that once the app isn’t on the screen, it stops working, like it’s 2009. Frankly everything about Vivint feels like it’s from the end of last decade, so this isn’t too big a surprise.

Just keeps getting more difficult...NOW UPDATED. This is my second review, the first one from a couple of years ago is below in quotes. I recently noticed the app had been updated on my iPad and I can see everything again!!! Very happy now. I guess that extremely slim and almost undetectable font has gone out of fashion. Thank goodness 😀 "I thought updates were supposed to make apps better, easier & more functional but this app continues to get more difficult to use. First the font changed to tiny little lines that can barely be read by seniors or others with vision impairment. Now it has taken me 20 minutes to figure out & change thermostat schedules. I give Vivint 5 stars on everything except the ever-changing for the worse app."

Not as good as before. Something has gone very wrong. I’ve had Vivint for 6 years and this app is now nothing. It takes 12 tries to sign in and only account info is available, and it shows suggested purchases that will not happen. I followed the directions of customer support to reload the app; nothing changed. I used to be able to view my cams, but now I can’t. Nor am I able to know the status of the security of my home from my phone. It was good will it lasted, but viewing cams and knowing home security from a mobile device may be ending.

The app itself. The vivint app itself is a valuable tool to utilize the system. A number of the comments deal with the business practices and the app review is not the place for it. It would be helpful if we are not limited to only proprietary equipment once we have completed the contract and our original equipment purchases

Great app but..... the actual monitoring is a different story. App is simple and user friendly but does lack any of the options or functionality the the wall unit has. In fact i find the app is easier to use than the wall monitoring unit or control panel and think that the panel should be eliminated since it only gives a perpetrator something to either break or make the homeowner deactivate. Something much harder to do since the perp would not want the homeowner to even have their phone when committing the crime and most likely take the phone away so turning the alarm off would be impossible to do. Service from the company on the other hand is not impressive as i have yet to ever get a follow up call once the alarm has been tripped. So if your looking for an unmonitored alarm system with some pretty good modern technology then this system is right for you. Keep in mind it will be extremely expensive since this "unmonitored" system still comes at a monitored price with payment due every month for like ten years! Seriously.

Update needed. Vivint, as a long term customer, I wish your IT team would update this version of the app, since this is what I’m stuck using. It won’t allow me to log in and each time I speak with a representative, they tell me to change my password, which doesn’t help, and then state “the app is being updated so check in 2-3 hours.” Since the app doesn’t show an update in 4 years, I’m under the impression that’s a farce to get me off the phone and can’t help me log into my own system from a mobile app. Not impressed. Unless this changes, I’ll be canceling my subscription and going with another company.

Too much “work”. For several years I’ve so much appreciated getting a notification via text when our home doors were opened. I get to know when family is up and about or when I’m taking care of kids it alerts me to doors that shouldn’t be opening are opened etc etc. Before when I erased the latest notification all the ones before that would also disappear. Now each one has to be deleted separately. A real pain. I’m thinking your addition of a phone number to the message has done that. Plus sitting at a Willy Nelson concert last evening I got several notifications one after the other that someone was coming and going from my home. Come to find out they were all from our early morning normal routine but it took all day to notify me. So please undo what ever the last update has done.

Vivint: Bring back basic features!!. If you're thinking about getting Vivint, keep looking. There are other alarm monitoring companies out there that have more robust features for the same price as account or less. This used to be a great app until they removed much-needed features. Used to get notifications the moment a sensor (window or door) was opened. As a parent of young children, this was extremely helpful in keeping my children safe. For example, if a child opened a window or a door, I would be notified the moment it happened and could address the situation. But Vivint has removed this feature from the app and now you can only get a notification if and when a sensor has been opened for at least one full minute. Also used to be able to see on the home screen of the app which sensors were currently open. That is no longer the case. This app hasn't been updated in OVER A YEAR. Vivint is neglecting their loyal customers, who have been around long enough to still have the GO! control panel and penalizing them for not upgrading to their more expensive smart home panel. If you look at Vivint's Smart Home app, you'll see that it was updated as recently as one week ago. Unless Vivint brings back these features by the time my contract is up, I will leave and go with another alarm monitoring company that has more robust features.

Awesomeness. This company is great! There customer service is out of this world. Had a tech come out and install a upgraded version of my t-stat and video camera because they were not talking to my new wireless router from Att for free! Thank you Vivint for being a stand out company. I have no complaints!

Vivint App. This app works flawlessly. In response to the one user's statement about lag when setting from the car: this is a wifi issue and not the app. I will notice this from time to time myself when arming for the night with the app and the delay is ALWAYS due to wifi needing refreshed. The panel is "online" itself and not on private wifi. Changing to cellular data on your mobile device, especially if you're in the fringe zone of your wifi coverage, and giving your mobile device a second or two to catch its breath will overcome the extensive delay mentioned. Sometimes rebooting my mobile device is the cure. Technology is a wonderful thing if you can truly harness its abilities. App works as advertised and without issues. Keep in mind, the issue isn't with your system per say, you'll find proper wifi/cell data use will enhance your experience. I'm not just a Vivint user, I also work directly with wifi/data connections in my profession.

Updates made features useless. Within the last year, an update rolled out that has caused the video features to not work. I can see the live video, but can’t playback recorded videos. I’ve tried several devices but it seems that it works on an older app version on an old phone. Also, the motion triggered alerts also are glitching. It used to send the alerts via text with a clip to play, now I can’t get text notifications to work. I somehow got the email notifications to work when motion triggers video but it clutters my mailbox, and, you have to check the app for the clip. It doesn’t attach one to the email. Please fix. Very frustrating that a feature I pay for hasn’t been functioning for months. Tech support via the phone only offers very basic app troubleshooting. They weren’t able to resolve the issue. A possible reason from customer service that this is happening might be that one of my door sensors has a low battery.... makes no sense to me.

Vivint app. For the most part, it's a great app ALTHOUGH sometimes it seems to lag (up to 10 minutes) when we're setting our alarm in the car. Fix that problem and it becomes a 5 star review. Customer Service is very responsive! Thank you. PS. Please update App to use with Face ID

Amazing App. I love my Vivint system and the app is amazing! This app is and has been reliable for over 4 years and still going strong. It's very friendly user because my kids can use it as good or better than I can. You want go wrong with this system and you'll love the app.👍🏾

NEEDS A UPDATE. The app is good and it does get the job done but when arming or disarming your alarm sometimes it will either freeze or load for awhile. Which is a problem for me since when arming my alarm I have no entry delay, so when I'm trying to enter my house and have to wait 2-3 minutes to hope the alarm will disarm I just end up going inside while my alarm goes off but then it'll get the signal as I'm keying in my passcode and it'll disarm it self. I would like to see a update for the app itself so that it could run as smoothly as it should.

Amateur company with inexperience people. Nothing but miscommunication and try after try to show up with the right equipment. Halfass installation and without my guidance would of been a cluster! I would never buy another thing from this company! The installers were pleasant and willing to help but their company is a piece of sh!t. Not their fault they work for low class Managment trying to squeeze every cent out of you by lying and not delivering on what you agreed upon! This App I have reloaded a couple times now. Some times it allows me to login sometimes it doesn't. Not until I reload the app. I now have 3 years to deal with pile of crap. Security cameras and door locks! Most of all their ignorance on how to service a client!

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!. Vivint is a scam. They did an amazing presentation and we were their customer for at least three years. We loved the service but HATE the fine print which was never explained to us. We moved from one home to another and they didn't send a tech to move the equipment for us. We had to do it. Fine. We moved it and then they had us purchase new equipment (upgraded equipment) and extended or contract without notification. We recently moved to a new home where we don't need the system anymore and they're charging us a monthly up until 'contract cancellation' WHICH IS FIVE YEARS!! They charged our account over $2000 to cancel the service. Keep your money folks!

Didn’t Waste You Money or Time!!!. I had to setup my system myself with help over the phone plus I could not get the credit they offered because I took over a system that already had everything I needed. I went back to find that clause but couldn’t find it. I guess making it up as you go along is a good and honest business strategy these days. On top of that got hung up on while on hold twice before the third time run around. I’m calling ADT which I hope will be better at customer service.

Not Ivy League.. The concept is great just poorly executed. Had system for 6 yrs and my panel is not compatible with new devices and they want me to buy new panel to keep up with services I’m paying for. The app is steadily becoming more and more useless, have to try up to 5-6 time to change temps on thermostats. And sometimes never does it. Haven’t had a update on app this entire time. I find that hard to believe, someone is asleep in app development.

My doorbell camera not sending out notifications if someone on your front door Or alert you to my iPhone since they replace new panel has newer software virson I call they said apps issue it will take 3 + week to fix Also they don’t even know till I call and technician who came to install this new panel they don’t even notify their tech There is issue or software issue software that have in panel I am disipointed They need to fix ASAP

Vivint App Review. The vivint app has worked great for us. I like saving money by adjusting temperature at home remotely. I feel safe with vivint notifications when doors are open and I’m not home. I like having access to the camera from my phone. But the most important benefit to me is being able to activate my home security system from anywhere I have internet access,( it those slow down the remote commands on cloudy/bad weather days. This vivint app is good.

Could improve…. cannot always rely on app to manage on/off for the alarm & provides minimal information.. Would be better if you could see all areas of your set alarms are active. Recently I found out basement alarm has not been active & no warnings or alerts.

App Ok. I like the app and its functionality but only wish it would let you bypass a door or other device from the app. We have dogs that we occasionally let out during the night and have to go to the panel to bypass the bedroom door when we set the alarm for the night if we forget before going to bed. Small problem but just wish it had that feature. Thanks.

Vivint Classic App. I one of Vivint’s oldest customer in this market. I was solicited when sales people was walking through my community! I’m all about growing the company, but not to the point where with “basic service” where the app no longer support the basic service. I’m super disappointed, three support reps no solution to resetting my password. Uninstalled and reinstalled app been down hill ever since. Really need to be able to set my alarm on the go.

What a JOKE. I have tried more than 10 times to have this new data thing installed so I wouldn’t lose service but each time something happened and their service tech cancelled and twice NEVER EVEN CALLED TO LET ME KNOW they wasn’t making it. I reported my cameras not working close to a year now and they know it and keep saying we have to update your panel and then we will send out a tech and they never show up. For the last week, they have sent trouble alert notice over the panel at 2am to tell me about the panel update needed. Well I’ve made several appointments and I’ve gotten hundreds of text messages and voice mails from them. Even when I answer the phone it hangs up and then I get a voice mail telling me to contact customer service about my service panel. HOW MANY APPOINTMENTS ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE AND NOT SHOW UP FOR. BEEN with them for close to 15 years and this is the treatment loyal customers get! JOKE!!!!!!!

App down for 3 days. No stars. I have been a customer with Vivint for 6 years. It’s time to take my business somewhere else. The mobile app went down 3 days ago. I called 3 days ago and was told it would be back up in 24 hours. Nope. It’s not up. Shopping today for new security system. Oh and by the way! Thanks for Leeman your customers know there was a problem, said with sarcasm. Never received an email or nothing from you about the issue. This is no way to conduct business.

Crap Service and Equipment.. First thing that you need to know is that after you spend thousands of dollars to purchase all the equipment and when the contract ends, You will not be able to use any of the equipment without a monthly subscription, nor will you be able to use the app. The cameras lag and constantly go offline same goes for the sensors and monitor. Oh and you will not have access to customer service to fix anything if you do not have a subscription. Morale of the story take your money and purchase your equipment and set up your own monitoring system on your phone.

Needs a lot of work. The key fob needs work. There is no confirmation when turning the alarm off or on. This has been a real pain and has resulted in the alarm going off if the fob doesn’t send the signal to turn off the alarm. Downloading videos takes forever and most times it won’t play back at all. My wireless has a very good signal. Horrible app. I’m paying for a system that is supposed to work.

Bugs. 1. The activity section doesn't always refresh/update to show real-time activity. 2. False notifications of an open door. I don't know how many times I've gone to arm my alarm and it says the front door (which I've just locked) is still open. I check the sensor and battery, and everything seems fine. 3. Occasionally logging in is troublesome. Hangs for a long time; have to restart the app and try again.

Old problem , fixed long ago. NEW problem 4th bedroom notListed on app as protected. Why do I have to wait 7days to get service restored when all I did was what the person at Vivint told me to do???i have wires sticking out of my wall and am being billed! I can't even get a hold of anyone to make a an appointment sooner than seven days It works when it wants to. Often shows front door as open when it is not.

Keeps messing up the thermostat. We have a Vivint smart home at our apartment and it’s been a nightmare since day one. The door would randomly unlock in the middle of the night, lights would be turned on and off at random… It’s extremely unreliable and it’s very difficult to figure out why a particular problem is happening and his to fix it Nothing ever works right. There are always issues with the app communicating with the thermostat. There have been times where the thermostat turns on heat where as the app says it’s on cool. The could be problematic in the summer where it could’ve done some real damage to our dog. There are constant glitches. The customer support is a joke. The first time we scheduled a technician to come look at the issue he never showed up. Tue second time we had to schedule them a month in advance and they couldn’t fix all of the problems. Within a few days we were experiencing problems again When we changed phones and re downloaded the app the whole system was freaking out again. Honestly the whole Vivint smart home seems like a scam to get your money. The whole thing is counterintuitive and extremely underdeveloped.

It works, but.... Like I said, it works. Not a whole bunch to speak of. In comparison to other alarm providers this app is very basic and doesn't give you bells and whistles. However, I also feel that is something that Vivint is responsible for in their product offering. These probably do not directly correlate to the app. Add features like Nest, Lutron, Ring etc., not just your proprietary products and that will get you higher marks.

5 Star alarm. Vivint is an excellent alarm & SUPPORT service. When we have had to contact them, we have had excellent care. This app has provided us with the capability of turning on lights, as well as our being able to adjust our thermostat and set the alarm from our phone. Highly recommend Vivint!

Service. Convenient for making adjustments on phone but have dead batteries and still on 2G. Called for upgrade was told it would cost $400 plus to upgrade. I have had the same system for many years and they want me to pay more now than what I paid to get the service. How is that, you would think they would be trying to keep me as a customer but they didn’t care. Thinking about calling them to come get it and go with another company.

App doesn’t arm or disarm. Seems it’s time to cancel this subscription and seek another company. They have tried forcing us into a new contract several times when renewing devices that “expire”, calls to pay on the phone cause their website don’t work, contract is 3 years, or a massive buyout. Not ideal for renters. This app only works on their old system which isn’t supported anymore. Last update on this app was also 4 years ago. They recently started charging 10 dollar late fees, this started the same month as a pandemic. Their bill pay website no longer loads no matter the browser, computer, phone or tablet. 5 years ago this company was great all around. Now I’d give zero stars if it was an option.

Vinint. I have been with this for 10 yrs or longer. This company has done a wonderful job. They notify you that your windows and doors are left open, I would recommend this company over some of the other security company.

Wish I had never gotten Vivint. It doesn’t matter if the app works or not when none of the rest of the alarm system does. To bad I’m locked into a contract. December 1st 2019 I’ll be dropping them. I’ve had nothing but issues. As I type this my doorbell and den cameras are off line again. Livingroom motion sensor isn’t working. Shop door sensor isn’t working and I can’t get the driveway camera to record anything smaller than my truck. I hate it. If you call customer support you will be fixing the issue yourself over the phone for well over an hour. If you want a tech get ready to pay for one and monthly because thats how often you’ll need one.

HORRIBLE!. If this app is intended to give you peace of mind it has failed miserably! My windows and doors will all be closed and locked and yet the app says certain Windows and doors are open and or unlocked. If your out of town it's enough to worry you. I can't tell you how many times I've driven home to find my garage door isn't open! I've had all the sensors looked at and they're fine so it's just this crappy app. This app was a big draw in signing up with vivint now I'm rethinking it. I've even paid extra to have a tech come out and check the sensors smh waste of time and money.

System is always breaking down. I have read some of the reviews and I seem to have the same problem. When a car drives up in front of my house I don see the person until they are at my door. I want to get notification when as soon as the vehicle drives up to my house. That would be the cameras at the front and side of my house. I want to see when my neighbor arrives and leaves, and anybody else. I don’t feel safe with the gaps. Also even with a little smoke from cooking the alarm goes off it drives me nuts. The water sensor battery doesn’t last long and is always causing problems with the panel, and I have to constantly reboot the panel. Also sometimes the camera that I just upgraded goes black and white at night. If you would fix these bugs it would greatly improve on this system. Because I am getting extremely agitated by these mishaps!

Frustrated. I get they want you to get the upgraded system with the upgraded app which has tons of great reviews but I think it’s crappy that you have a completely different app for your “more valuable” customers. We have been with you guys for a very long time and this app just doesn’t work well and I think we should be valued too. That being said, here are the issues with the app: The app does not stay updated. I like to see what the temp is in the house at random times and the app will say what the house was yesterday at some random time and when I try to pull down to refresh the info, the app takes several minutes of me doing this over and over to finally work. Sometimes when I change the temp on my phone after finally getting the info to update, it keeps changing what I said I wanted the new temp to be. Also, I loved the feature of knowing if I accidentally left my garage door open without driving back to my house but the app is so unreliable that I just can’t trust that it is right.

iOS 12 & WatchOS 5 beta test feedback. I am currently testing both iOS 12 & WatchOS 5 for apple developers. According to my apple iWatch Vivint app will need to be updated so that it’s compatible with the new soon to come apple OS. It’s set to release sometime next month. So your developers may need to begin working on the update as I can not use the app on my apple watch

Vivint classic app. This app used to work up to the beginning of December. Spent hours with Vivint support to get it working again. It will only give me the status of the alarm panel. I no longer have remote access to turn off or on the alarm. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Be careful of making any changes to your existing service because they will lock you in for a 5 year contract. Terrible terrible terrible

Beyond frustrated with app. This app works when it wants. There have been several occasions where getting access to my cameras or to unlock/lock my doors and this app just failed me by simply not working. And the access had nothing to no with connectivity from my phone. I’ve literally tried using the app within my house; same issue of failure. What’s the point of having a home monitoring system you can only control WHEN HOME?!?!

Good equipment but a crap app. So 10 minutes ago I got a text that says I have a visitor at my front door as I’m hearing police sirens at six in the morning so I click open and it goes to the Vivint homepage with the cute house and airplane flying over it saying connecting connecting connecting to your home connecting to your home nothing happening connecting to your home Sirens closer after 4 minutes IStaring at their orange homepage I gave up got dressed and went and looked out the window g good thing no one was breaking and it was probably just the wind but I can’t see the footage because the app won’t open ! this is happened several times in various locations from sitting at home being in the bedroom like now driving out of town and very rarely does it connect in real time to show me what’s going on what good is a service if you can’t see what’s happening with your security? Bottom line: CRAP APP

Unreliable to the point of being useless. Each time I try and arm or disarm my system from the app, there is a 30-40 minute delay between the time I tap the button and the time the system actually responds. Oftentimes I get error messages saying that the command timed out, and was not sent to the server. It's extremely frustrating sitting in my car in my driveway for 30 minutes waiting for my alarm system to deactivate. And it's annoying having to run inside and disarm the panel manually before the shrieking alarm wakes up the whole neighborhood. There is also a delay in the time it takes for the app to recognize when doors/windows are open or closed. It gives me notifications that doors and windows are open, even when they have already been closed. It does not make a difference if I am connected to WiFi or using my cell phone's data. There is always a big delay, which makes the app unreliable to the point of being completely useless.

**App Feature Request** avoided potential break-in!. This app is great for notifying me when someone approaches my front door. Just today, a stranger approaches my front door, knocks on it, and then checks the door knob and walks off! It would be great to have recorded more than 30 seconds of his activity. I can only see him walking up to the door from his truck nor can I see him getting back into his truck. Luckily I was able to check my phone while I was at work and watched him walk around the side of my house and then leave; he was in and out in under 40 seconds. Please allow us to either record 24/7 or to extend the motion detected recording time for; 45s, 60s, 90s, and allow us to manually turn on video recording when we see suspicious activity taking place. More great features would be an emergency contact option like the ones on the sky panel and local weather like on the sky panel. Also, I found a bug in the app that caused me not to be able to speak to this potential criminal because the microphone button was not visible, it might have something to do with my wife viewing the same camera live at the same time. Thank you so much Vivint!!!

We're happy!. Very happy that we have this app to arm or disarm our system from our phones. We can disarm on our way home so we don't have to worry about the 30 second window and we can arm after we've left home if we forgot.

Not enough features. The feature set it has works good, but this app allows only for the most basic control of your vivint panel. Please add the ability to bypass sensors! It is a pain to go through the process of bypassing a sensor using the panel. The features available should mostly or all be available in this app, so you can access them silently and even away from home! I'm surprised at how basic the functionality this app has, even with all the potential it has to be even better.

Well. It would be good if it worked all the time. But most of the time it won't disarm my alarm system from this app. I park in my detached garage so I need to be able to disarm my system remotely.

App Crashes. Someone needs to be fired. They broke an app that worked just fine before. Way to go.

Go back to old app. The previous app was easier to use. Temp increments should be 0.5C. Please go back to the old app design.

Only 1 complaint. Fire department gets called when I burn dinner mostly when its chicken. They are too quick to send trucks when vivant doesn't contact through the wall unit

Works ok but don't like temp increments. App works ok for me but would REALLY like to see the Temperature increments by by .5 rather than 1. Please change to match thermostat.

Great app, but. But most times I cannot use it because I always get a response saying "the signal cannot be verified" so it's just as well not to have it.

99% perfect ...Only one thing missing .... Should have a panic option to set off alarm from app instead of having to go to the keypad in case of in home emergency. Everything else is perfect!

Do not update. Just performed the latest update and now the app does not work at all. Work flawless before update so if you have an older version keep using it.

Why have two apps?. I just need to change my notification settings so we don’t get an email every time there’s motion from the doorbell. Apparently I have to download this app to do this as it isn’t possible from our Smart Home app, but the login is different than the Smart Home app... and of course I can’t for the life of me figure out what that password is and there’s no option to reset the password, so I click on Login Help.. and nothing loads. It shouldn’t be this hard to make some minor changes, I shouldn’t have to download two apps to do so.

Disappointed. This app was wonderful. I don't know what happened, but for the past several days I cannot get it to connect.

Two thumbs down. Since the update, live viewing doesn't expand. I hate the fact I have to go onto the Internet to do any changes and being on an iPad even that doesn't work without Java. Not something I would recommend to anyone!

iOS Update. Updated this morning, pop up notifications no longer work.

Can't get anything but the camera to work. Our thermostat hasn't updated since August 2015 we can't get anything to work anymore.

App doesn’t work well with thermostat. Changing the temperature on my thermostat using the app is so frustrating. I will change it to my desired temp but when the app refreshes... I mean IF the app refreshes, the temp goes back to the temp it was before! Some times it changes the temp on the thermostat but doesn’t reflect the change on my app and sometimes, it doesn’t change the temp on the thermostat or my phone.

Canada version/option. Need an update to make it Canadian friendly. The thermostat function in degrees Celsius would be awesome! Other than that, it's great to be able to access everything

NO star!. Really terrible IOS app!! Too white and boring camera screen navigation the worst, does not work most of the time, if it does, it's slow motion and freezes. App doesn't work. I got a new phone and downloaded the app again. It will not let me log in and says I have the wrong password, which I don't because I can log into the website. Frustrating because we pay a lot for vivint's monthly service and now I can't use my phone to adjust or set anything, and that was the reason we chose vivint.

CRITICAL FLAW!. This app absolutely needs to add the ability to silent arm and disarm and quick exit and silent quick exit from the ios app and the watch app. Painfully so. Also I have the garage door sensor however that garage door open/closed pic shown on the pain app image previews is completely missing from my app???

Good, but.... It does what I need it to do. Although it would be nice to be able to remotely access the panel to send for help in case you're trapped and are unable to get to it.

Good. Not great. I like the simplicity of it....it work well for arming/disarming. However the thermostat part of the app never seems to work for me. It would be really nice if I could update the hearing schedule from my mobile device.

Bad Customer Service/Poor Quality Equipment. Poor customer service and equipment support Been waiting for 3 months for a replacement CO2 detector and still nothing, will be canceling service at end of contract

This service sucks, the customer service is not good and the systems are just annoying, my family was getting ready for bed and the alarm box started going off for no reason at all and we dont know why, we tried fixing it but it kept going off until we finally called vivint and nobody we called helped us they all just said “just turn the power to it off” but that didnt work

Hey there a quick note for you , there seems to be a bug in the thermostat section where it seems my system has this problem of adjusting the temp up or down when no one is home, it's disturbing to say the least in these times of low incomes due to the economy and you have to keep an eye on a electronic device that wastes money like its free, please fix this issue immediately

dysfunctional app. I downloaded the app to my iPhone. The app doesn’t work with the thermostat, it’s VERY slow with unlocking the door, it takes a long time to disarm the system.

Weim-mom. This app works great! The update with new notifications is good added security. There has been no lag in remote arm/disarm as others have noted. Great customer service and awesome installer, courteous and friendly.

Hit or miss on tech support. I have had this app for a few yrs (8-10). Recently was unable to log into it after changing my password on the online website it took 3 weeks to somewhat resolve it still not working up the original standards.

Doesn't always work. Sometimes the app works great. It will load and I can see everything I need to see. Other times it won't load, my alarm will be set but my phone says it's not. Controls for the thermostat do not always work either.

Commands Ignored. Husband and I continue to send commands using this app and they just don’t go through. We’ve deleted the app multiple times and it continues to fail to do what we command it to do. For example, setting the alarm away never goes through. We can’t set the alarm with the app. Then it’s useless. So annoying!

Horrible service. After years of giving this company money, they are charging us an entire month for not canceling 30 days ahead of time. Other companies do not have this policy and are less expensive! I will never recommend Vivint again.

Great app but…. Great app but more features would be better. It provides info o. Who is at the door or around it but it would be great if it allowed me to lock and unlock my door before I actually got to it.

Not for people with cats!!. When we signed up, we were assured the system was pet friendly which turned out to be untrue! Coming home to the police being here was a little embarrassing. Finally sent a tech who adjusted but could never set to "alarm away", ever, in the 3 years of contract! $66 per month for 3 years just to know which door someone opened? Unhappy ex-customers here.

Simple and Easy. This app is simple and easy to use. Just tap the icon. Like all other apps, it can be fast or slow depending on the connection. When my key fob doesn't work I use this app.

Cameras offline in app, but fine at panel. Our cameras are offline in the app, but totally fine on the panel. I've asked Vivint customer service for help and I was told to delete the app from my iCloud n reinstall. I did that twice and it still doesn't work. How sad to have had an awesome app and have it konk out. How do I make it go back to working excellently???

Not bad could be better. App shows system armed I can hear the deadbolt lock yet it shows unlocked. Other than that not bad. Only wish video had larger capacity.

Could be better. It times out regularly. It doesn't always send the signal. Sometimes it takes a very long time to turn off the alarm. And hardly ever communicates with the wave device.

App is not user friendly. The app is no longer user friendly. You cannot change passcodes on the app, you have to do that through the control panel and then call Vincent to have them reset the system so the new codes actually work. Much needed features in the app are now gone, you can’t review details of your account, look for bills, etc

Sad client really sad. Very buggy app. Forget those reviews from 6 years ago you are reading. The app doesnt always recognize user id and password and then locks you out after 3 attempts forcing you to call customer support which is now robots from other countries reading scripts and not listening to the customer

😊👍🏼. Overall, good app. However, I've experienced (for months) lag in setting and disarming the alarm from my phone. (2 different phones, Galaxy S3 & iPhone 6 Plus).

App doesn’t work. The app simply stopped working out of the blue. Requires me to sign in again and tells me I have the wrong credentials. Have tried changing the password with no success. Kind of useless security system if I can’t monitor it will I’m away from home. Fix the app now!

Cannot Login. I receive a constant error saying “Incorrect username/password combination. The account ultimately locks and I have to call Customer Service to unlock. I’m able to login to the website with no problem. Technical Support is unable to find the problem. Disappointed!!!

Works. Nothing fancy. But I love being able to set and turn off my alarm from my phone. I also like being able to see which sensors have been tripped.

No push notifications. What’s the point of an alarm app that doesn’t allow notifications? And this app hasn’t been updated in 5 years?? Vivint, you keep making it very difficult to justify why I am still paying money for your services that have not improved, when there are now hundreds of other options available for home security.

It's pretty good. The app works most of the time. Sometimes you can't arm or disarm the system even when you're in the house. It can be very frustrating, especially when you use your phone or your wife's phone, and it won't arm/disarm.

Better hope everything works. When you call for support they do it though instant messaging. I ended up ending the chat this morning I was so frustrated. Do NOT expect anyone to come out to help you. I just paid a lot to have my system updated and I shouldn’t have. Frustrated but basically giving up.

Last update :-(. The last update has slowed the app at start up. This has been noticed on 3 different smart phones. It shouldn't take almost a full minute to open. I also wish you could set your own fan time instead of the 1/3/ or 24 hrs.

App is a failure. Never had more problems with it. Continues to crash without warning. Even tech svs can’t figure it out. Paying for security that often times fails. Company needs to readapt and fix issues or lose customer base. Think twice before using this service.

Last update did more harm than good. Since the last update came through I have been unable to access the application. I don't know if this a direct relation to the update for sure but the thing seems very coincidental.

Good most of the time. Sometimes my app will not send my disarm signal to my panel, then it will randomly disarm when I don't want it to (like the middle of the night!)

Nothing works. When we first got the system it was awesome and now 8 years later they won’t come and fix anything without changing me. I have 5 things wrong with the system and yet they still want me to pay a monthly fee if the don’t fix it this time for free then they can come take it now.

Worked for almost 8 yrs, now nothing!!. I’m so disappointed that the app stopped working. All I get is a white screen now with a dark arrow at the bottom. I loved being able to change my thermostat and open my front door before I left my truck. Now I can to that any more. Very sad now!! Maybe time to switch providers!!

Great app. The app works great. I do wish for one thing, though, and that's a panic button. We almost always have our phones right with us, and if we hear an intruder coming in, it would be great to be able to instantly notify police or vivint.

Vivint app. I appreciate that I can control all my devices from the app no matter where I am. Since they changed the on-line site I an no longer control things from my MacBook. The app is my only option.

App doesn’t work. Ever since I got a new phone this app no longer works. Every time that I try to enter my login information I’m told that my account is locked and I have to call customer service. I contacted customer service and they helped with the password issue, but it only works for their website. I am still unable to log into the app as it continues to tell me that my account is locked.

Can’t log in. I can use my login credentials on their website but this app seems to think that my credentials are incorrect when using this app. This happened after I upgraded my phone to the iPhone 11. Useless app now. If a future update fixes this issue I may update my review. Seems they haven’t updated this app in over 3 years, no wonder it doesn’t work.

Needs an Update. This used to be a great app, but they need to update it for watch ios 5. It used to have regular updates, but says 3 years since last one. That seems a bit ridiculous. Almost like the want you to spend a bunch of money and update to their latest panel.

Trashy company. I hate the company and it's a piece of trash nothing works correctly and they don't stand behind their product. We can't get them to come fix their trashy equipment. When we first bought into this junk, it was awesome but after a year, they forgot about us and this junk in my home, if you want a alarm system that will truly protect your home and family, STAY AWAY FROM VIVINT. Do your homework, we didn't and now are stuck.

Needs work... NEED A PAYMENT BUTTON!. I STILL CANNOT PAY my acct! I used to be able to get to the main site to pay my bill but not any more. This app actually fights you from going to the main page on your phone to try to pay your bill so makes it IMPOSSIBLE to pay your bill in an easy way... if you don't want me to pay my bill just tell me!!! Also, it's WAY TOO SLOW to arm & disarm the system!

Great when it's working 😔. Several times a month the app is useless. For example, last night at midnight I was checking the app and it said my garage door was open. I went and checked and my garage door was closed. I reviewed the history and it doesn't go past 6:30 PM?? It's now 4:47AM the next morning and guess what? According to this app, my garage is still open and the history hadn't changed. How can I monitor my house if the app can't keep up?? Also, attempting to utilize the camera is very slow now. C'mon Vivant, catch up and fix your $h|t. Update - I've downgraded it to a 2 now. The lag is getting worse.

The whole point of the app is now missing!. I mainly use the app to arm and disarm my system while I’m away from home. Now, the lock icon is nowhere to be found. The home page only shows the weather. If I wanted weather, there are plenty of better apps out there. How do I arm my system remotely now?

Needs an update. Love this app but it hasn't been updated in quite awhile. Wish they would update so features work better and quicker. To see temp for thermostat have to pull down page to refresh several times to get the current temp. Things should work better than they do.

Vivint. Show’s my equipment and allows me to use it through the app. I can’t change my email address or update it.

Your Vivint App. Your app normally works great. Normally a 5 Star. But the update you did today makes the app totally unusable. I can not open it at all, it just spins like it is going to work but nothing. I restarted the app multiple times & no luck. I even tried a hard apple reboot. Still does the same thing. Help please.

Don't use this company. They are out there to get as much money as they can. Terrible contract policy. Other company that I had dealt with only charges a penalty fee for early termination. Vivant will charge you the full price of the remainder of the contract. If your contract had matured, it will take them a month to terminate the service so they will make an addition month of service before you leave.

NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. I had vivint for many years. Very bad experience. Customer service is a joke. No way to cancel. Extremely unsatisfied with their company. I've moved on to (clear protection) they're amazing and I have no more problems. And I pay less!!!! I'll tell everyone to go to clear VS staying with vivint. It's literally night and day.

App has stop working. Had this app for 6 years. This year I logged out of it and now it won’t let me back no matter what I do. Five different calls to the company and they can’t figure out the problem. I’m tired of sitting on the phone for hours at a time and no success think I may change company’s.

Log in fails. This app refuses my Vivint credentials that work for the current Vivint iPhone/iPad apps. If you select Login Help you are taken to a dead obsolete webpage and get the dreaded 404 (page not found error). There is no point downloading this app, since it is useless. If the developers don't fix it, they should remove it from the Apple App sttore.

Stopped Working. I used to be able to use this app to arm/disarm, adjust temp, etc… until several months ago when it just stopped working, wouldn’t recognize my password anymore and disabled my account for too many login attempts. When I called customer service, they couldn’t figure it out either. I am unsure what to do now…

Great app, Love it. Pros: I like the ability to check, arm and disarm the system from my phone. When it works, it works great! It is very intermittent! Had a few false alarms do to the fact that the phone showed disarmed when it was armed!!!! Cons: I would like to see more then 10 sensors. Fix the bugs

So slow it's almost useless. The app looks pretty good, but the time is takes to adjust the thermostat or arm the alarm is ridiculous. I can walk down my stairs and manually change my thermostat faster than this app can change it. Such shoddy tech they use.
