Must have tool for all soccer coaches!. This is an awesome tool for all coaches. I would be completely lost without it. Perfect for making sure that all children have an even amount of time on the field and making sure that there's no favoritism. Must have!

Update made it very hard to read. The update changed the text color to black, making it very hard to read. Was a lot easier to read player names in white text.

Simple, straightforward, even helpful for the players.. I’ve been using this app for years. Even just recommended it to the Parks and Rec director to pass on. I highly recommend this for game positioning, substitutions and play time. Very simple and straightforward. Can be used for other sports and teams sizes, also, so nice. The players really like it too because they can actually see their positions/substitutions like on a white board, for those who are more visual. I definitely give it 5-stars. Although nearly perfect, I do wish it could keep score. Silly, but it would still be nice. Also, available in the Android store would make it universal to any assistant coaches. And yes, I take my iThings out in the rain. My pocket has done fine drying so far, and Apple hardware is awesome, but they make a good point about carrying a ziplock bag with you. One more thing in the coach’s bag.

Desperately Needs Update. Stopped resetting time under New Period. Would be useful to have a scoreboard function to allow you to keep score as well as player time.

Great in Simplicity. Would love it to record "position" time.. I'm looking for an app to help with substitutions for a youth sports team (soccer). This app is great in it's simplicity allowing you to plan substitutions based on current time in and (total playing time). You can manage the next substitution by dragging and dropping players from the bench to the field, get all the bench players set to go in and let them know who they are replacing, and then simply mark the timing of the planned substitution with the push of a button. This is great for a coach who is busy enough at substitution time. I can't overstate the utility of the "planned" substitution feature of this app. This feature alone is worth the modest price. The only thing missing to me is the ability to name the positions or in some other way record where the players had played. You can easily drag the players anywhere on the field to reflect your playing strategy. However, at least in youth soccer, it is important to move players around and give them the chance to play everywhere. It would be nice to have this recorded and pull up a quick summary by tapping on the player with a final game summary (available to email).

simple, no frills way to manage lineups on the fly. I'll compare contrast to: "coach wizard" and "soccer dad", big difference is that "coaches clock" lets you prep a line up on the fly then do a bulk substitution... which is ideal when you're subbing 5 kids at once. "coach wizard" and "soccer dad", while more feature rich, requires subs to be done one by one which is annoying while the game is going. I wish it did season tabulations, and tracked other stats (like assists, goals, saves, def stops, etc,.... the other apps do that), but for me, I'll take the all-at-once substitutions over stats tracking.

Top app for sub management. I’ve tried all the soccer/coaching apps, and this one is the very best for managing substitutions in youth soccer games. Here’s why: * Simple interface * Fast performance * Multi-player subs are easy * You can show parents the playing time stats at the end of the game if they complain about their kid’s playing time.

Great app for U13 Boys soccer. This is a really great app. I needed to have a good way to track my subs and how much time players were on the pitch during the game. I discovered the sub mechanism by mistake, and it helped a lot. The first week took some getting used to, but now it works perfectly. Agree with the comment on a way to cancel the substitution assignment, once it's been made. Thanks for building this app.

Good begining.. Great app for rec. coach's keeping tack of player position and time on field. Very easy to use. However, travels coaches would also like to keep track of game score, basic individual player stats.......goals, assists, etc. Would also like to see a feature that would log all of this info. to keep track of an entire season. Even without the extras mentioned, I still love this app and will be putting it to use this upcoming spring season.

Very useful. Thanks.. Used it this weekend for our soccer game. Very easy to use. It works as explained. Place players on the field, start the clock, substitute by dragging to another player. Keeps track of total time in, current time in and current time out for each player. Simple, stable and reliable. A few updates would be helpful. Push and hold player to cancel a substitution. Substitutions should not happen when both players are out. Provide a way to save favorite field lineups. Thanks for making this. Great idea!

Great app, big help to coach.. Great app! Really nice to be able to tell at a glance how much time each player has spent on the field and how long on resting on bench. It does what it advertises very well. And its reliable and stable. 3 suggestions: 1. Would be nice if game clock ran down instead of up. 2. It's way too easy to accidentally click new game when you try to click new quarter. 3. I would like to be able to click one player, then another one and have the line drawn between them instead of dragging to create the line.

As advertised. Does what it says. In addition to the feature recommended by the prior reviewer, I would suggest adding a countdown feature for the game clock to reflect time remaining rather than elapsed.

Simple w/ no extras. Simple app for players and subs with time. Easy to swap players from sub to active but doesn't track position changes w/ subs . also has a log of all changes during game but not a clean report of total time in/out or any other bells or whistles. Only the basics and very simple

Just what I needed!. I love this app! Rec leagues are supposed to be about giving young boys and girls the opportunity to learn and enjoy sports. Too often, Coaches and parents get too wrapped up in winning at a very young age. This app helps bring rec league sports back to its core value by giving coaches an easy way to track time played and spread playing time out more evenly giving each child equal opportunity to experience the game. As simple as this app is to use, I suggest that the coach assign an assistant or parent to track time so that he/she can concentrate on other aspects of the game and better recognize areas where team members need work or guidance. I agree that the ability to track positions played would be useful. I would also love to see the ability to track points scored. If everyone on the team has scored except one or two players, we try to get the ball to those players and give them the opportunity to score. I prefer the time accumulation to time elapsed. If you make that enhancement, please make it a user-definable setting.

Great for 2 things. Works well for tracking time played and remembering the assigned positions which can be tough with younger players. Adding the ability to track goals would be a nice simple addition so a coach could see who scored and when.

Really cool. Love this app! It makes it so easy keep kids' playing time equal and keep track of who I need to sub.

Doesnt work. Can only drag players at 45 degree angle so they end up on top of each other. Can't drag them anywhere on the field. Wasted $ Try EqualPlay. Way better app that allows better sorting and stats which you can customize.

Perfect & Easy!. I wish I had found this years ago! Loaded on iPad in waterproof case and we are good to go for soccer season. At start of game I just show the ipad instead of yelling out eleven positioning instructions. Substitutions are clear and intuitive. The time tracking saves me from looking at the bench and wondering or having to ask who has been sitting the longest. Rec leagues usually require equal play time and with large teams that is an annoying challenge when you are also trying to direct the game.

Awesome app!. This is a great app. I thought the timer was broken but it's not. Not only does it keep track of playing time but shows how long a player has been out of the game, which is good to know. Keeping up with my kids playing time is key to our league. So thanks for making this app.

Was good, clock stopped working right. Loved this last season but so far this spring it is not keeping accurate total time per player anymore.

Keep it simple!. Perfect app. Does what is says, no more, no less. Suggestions: After making the sub, sort the players on the bench by time so we can easily see who has priority. You could use a background color for the player box to indicate priority if auto-positioning doesn't appeal to you. Check out the app Paperless Lite - they have a nice GUI for adding to a their lists. Yours works fine, but could be easier. Time in goal vs field position would be nice to have, but I wouldn't sacrifice simplicity. Nice work!

Great app for our junior soccer club. Simple yet very functional. Makes game day so much easier to coach. The hardest thing on game day was to keep track of all the players and the time spent on the field.Ensures that all the kids have equal participation and enjoy the sport and don't miss out. Best thing ever!!. As a team manager of a junior football team for the last two years I have spent most of my time on the sideline worrying if I am giving all the kids equal playing time. I've tried a number of systems - alphabetical, pen and paper but always end up confused! And I never really get to watch the game. Managing 2 teams this year I was determined to find a solution. Simplicity is beauty. One of the easiest apps to use that does what I need. If you want to keep track of players’ on field time and make substitutions with ease, this is the app you want. Even the instructions are well written.

This app needs three things. Let me turn off seconds display. It's distracting and superfluous. Add an easily-seen counter for the total number of on-field player cycles for each player (configurable to show or not show) Let me erase from the screen (but bring back if needed, during the game) players that are injured or didn't show up (or are really late to practice).

Crashes. Crashes whenever you try and do any sport other then soccer...not worth the money, should provide refund

Great app. This app is very simple but that's why it is so good. I've used this app for a season now and will continue to use it next. I tried other apps and found them difficult to use especially when players end up in the wrong positions or you need to quickly sub a player out. The simple nature of this app allows you to quickly make corrections. I also enjoy the freedom to place players down anywhere in any number or formation, this makes Coaches Clock more flexible than other player substitution apps.
