Boring and repetitive. I thought this game was fun, not much of a challenge though. And it DOES NOT let you continue the level you were on if the app is closed. Mine keeps making me start over at level 1, even when I haven't failed a level! It's really annoying because it's the same letters and combinations over and over again. Wish it was more diverse and less repetitive and it actually did let you pause where you were instead of starting over. I'm going to download the second version to see if that's any better

sharpens skills!. not only good for your vocabulary but also good for flexible thinking, taking one’s time and strategy! i ve been playing it for over 5 years.

Words. I love playing, but HATE when I can't make a word with one red jewel left, you LOSE your status and go BACK. Also hate that when I had a choice of level 9 or 20something, and a phone call interrupted, so it kicked me back to square ONE. Not a very fair decision from the creators of this game. Also, there are more often than not, all consonants and maybe one or two vowels...wth!? And only one shake? Really? Other than those b#%*hy reasons, I enjoy it, so I'm done with the review and have to get back to the game :)

Problem fixed!. I was just about to review this app and complain about the one thing that bothers me - the fact that I accidentally hit the "shake" button and it screws up my game - when I see that there is an update to fix it! Hooray! Great game - very addictive. I keep saying "one more level" and next thing I know, an hour has gone by.

PRC. Really love this game. Would prefer they add something in settings so that you can elect to start at a level higher than 9, and can set whether or not you want to see a list of your words/scores after each level. This would speed up moving from one level to another.

Challenging. I recently installed this game and while I had trouble the 1st couple of days, I received technical support right away and problem solved immediately. With that said, This game keeps me challenged. No waiting for another person to make a move and no need for Internet connection making it my #1 choice even over Words w/Friends!

My fave game!. I always turn to this one when I’m waiting in a one or have a few minutes to kill. I love it!

Set your own goals. I like free apps, but have never been one to do games per se. This is an intellectual challenge so I love it!! I turn OFF all sounds so I can do it on planes, waiting for appontments, etc. Once you are into it you get only 9 moves to use all 25 letters. My goal is to see how many moves I can conserve and still solve the puzzle. My best was I solved in 4 moves. Those Q, J, X, V, and Z letters are SUPER hard to use. I also like to forego the easy words and go for 6 or more letters. This game is awesome! My two grandsons ages 6 & 8 also love it so much I had to get another version Word Jewels 2 they can play so I could keep my level (483) as it is a cumulative scoring system.

Cool. This app is pretty cool. If you like challenges, this word game gives you a run for your money. Sadly tho, my run has now ended on level 42 with a score of 200,200... :-( but all that really matters is I've successfully beat my parents!! Yessssss! Haha* this is a fun & slightly addictive app* my whole family plays it* Good job!

An awesome free game!. The ads are barely noticeable. Just at the bottom of the screen. They don't pop out in the middle while you are playing. The game is a lot of fun, I haven't come across any bate and switch in-app purchases that a lot of "free" apps tend to have. I like this a lot better than Bookworm. It has a similar concept, but Word Jewels is more relaxing. You can work at your own pace and it's fun to submit 6, 7 letter words.

Word Jewels Classic. I have been playing for quite some time. Educational & lots of fun. Thanks to Julie for getting me back on the correct level that I had been playing!

Confused!. I find this game extremely relaxing because you can play against yourself with out the pressure of timed moves. However, what confuses me is that whenever I click on the game I am not sure which game I will be playing. It appears that I have a vertical and a horizontal game going and have no control over which I get. I also am at times confused when it accepts a word that doesn't seem to be a word to me and then rejects those that I know are real words. I would still strongly recommends this app.

Challenging and fun!. I have been playing this game for several years now and am hooked. Finally decided to write a review since I enjoy it so much. I set different goals for myself—sometimes the highest score, other times the highest level. Always challenging and exciting.

Better When It Was Faster. Good game, but I liked it better when the word entered disappeared immediately, so there was no pause to confirm the entry. When it was faster and you learned how it worked by playing it instead of being told, it was much more engaging. I felt motivated to try to outwit the game. I still play a lot, but not with as much zest.

Challenges the Brain. I have been playing this for years and love it. Truly the kind of game that I feel keeps the mind sharp. I create my own goals like trying to achieve a ten letter word; just got my first nine letter word last week.

Top Notch Word Game. I am not one who submit reviews with regularity but this game is worth the time and praise. Simple to pick up the concept but always challenging, this game never gets dull. I have owned it for quite a while and never stop playing it. As an extra incentive to buy, I want to let all know that this developer never stops trying to improve and update elements of the game. It is definitely worthy of high praise and a diamond in the rough for word game enthusiasts.

Best Boggle/Scramble game!. This play-alone game starts easy and becomes harder with each level and challenges the player to think about the words they form & weigh pros & cons of playing all the turns versus leaving unused turns for points. It would be nice to see the word at the bottom as I'm forming it but it hasn't stopped me from having fun. Definitely worth paying money for!

Did it get easier?. It seems to me the new version is much easier than before--I am still going at levels 30+ Not as challenging! I do like the ability to accept your word. Before I sometimes missed a letter or had to be careful not to lift my finger if I was not sure. amending: this definitely got much easier and its no longer as much fun :( I am now at level 40 and its just no challenge anymore :((( In the old version I rarely got higher than level 30, but that was the incentive to try harder! This was my favorite game before...I am hoping you can perhaps provide different levels easy/challenging...

My favorite word puzzle game!. Love this game! Huge dictionary, 3-10 letter words, 9 turns to get them all, one chance to scramble, and you can restart at last level with only a slight penalty. My only complaint is the "Q's" --- they have a "u" built in, so you can't use words like "QAIT" that have no "u". It would be nice to be able to use them as Q's OR Qu's. Still 5 stars!

Awesome in so many ways!. First of all, there's no time limit on this game, so it's more relaxing than other word games. You know how you get stressed and watch the time on other games... none of that here. You can also close the app mid-game and go back to the same game, which helps as you get better and better. My favorite word game right now, definitely.

I love it BUT. I love it but it could use a few changes. I hate how you earn points but lose everything after you lose 1 round - then you're forced to start at level 1 or level 9 again with zero points. That part kinda stings when you're on level 23 with 94,000+ points then you lose it all over one mess up. It's annoying. I hope the developers can change that. Maybe give us 3 rounds to mess up on before losing points and the level? Or allow ppl to start at the level they messed up on?

Go to. I’ve had this game for a very long time. It’s my go to when I need to relax or kill some time. If I could make one request it would be to add challenges. I actually make my own…. For example, try to reach 75k in points at the completion of level 10.

Fun but.... About the 10th time the red box pops up telling you you only have one word left you've figured it out long ago (like the first time it pops up). By the 20th time it's totally irritating. Same with the warming about using a shake. Anyone who's smart enough to play the game is smart enough to know what happens when you have one turn left or use your shake. Otherwise it's very fun.

Word game lover's heaven. I love word games and it's great to have one you can play solo and get immediate results but you can still compete against the high scores of other players. It's a nice change to not have to wait for your opponent to play or go against a clock. I hate to put it down. Looking forward to an update that recognizes you don't have any moves left after a shake or a quit game option.

Retired. LOVE THE NEW VERSION......EXCEPT....Playing the game is not as fun....I think it's because there are fewer vowels, chances to make longer words, and some games I just have to QUIT...because all I can come up with using available letters are 3-4 letter words. AND THAT'S JUST NOT ME. Please help...... and take out all the games that have 4"z's" on one level. That's ridiculous!

Word Smithing. For those who liked spelling bees and English classes, this is a fun challenge. Many surprising words pop up as you create other words, so the game requires concentration. Sort of like a “solitaire” of words. Love it and play every day!

Word jewels. What a great game. To be able to play a few levels at a time a d co E back later to continue your game is great. Would like to see level number appear when high scores are posted some players rate their accomplishment on levels beat rather than on points. Overall this is a fun entertaining game that my wife and I enjoy playing together.

I'm Hooked!. Great game. It's one of the few ones that knows every word, even the obscure and "adult" ones. Keeps me occupied for more hours than I'd like to admit. Hard to imagine that such a quality game is free. I've paid for others that became uninteresting in short order. I strongly recommend it to anyone who's intrigued by words and strategy--it draws on both.

Jewell. I lone the game. The challenge to move up in the standings makes it addicting. Sometimes it takes me a few days to complete a game. It is nice that one can leave it and always return to where one left off. Only suggestion I would make is when a certain is reached the look could be changed to give it a little more interesting look. But, that is something minor.

Simple and addictive. Ridiculously easy premise to pick up but the more you play, the more you realize that a bit of strategy and planning ahead can help tremendously. New features added with most recent update make the game better on more well rounded too! Stop reading this and install NOW!

This game gets you thinking of words and strategizing how you can make a longer word and use all the letters that are hi-lighted And it's doable to achieve a high score and be able to move to the next level without paying for it or going on Facebook to ask your friends for extra time Ike some of the games do.

Best mind game ever!. I’ve been playing this game for about 18 months and it’s fantastic. Keeps me creative with words and learning new ones as the letter options get harder. Highly recommend!!

My FAVORITE game out there. I'm what you would call an app game addict.. I try out 100's of games and cool apps for my I-phone and this is by far my favorite.. I have to drive my wife around town from work to the stores to the bank(everywhere) so while I wait I play, when it's time to go I lock the phone and drive off.. I love this game for the simple reason that it's all about ME, ME using my brain on MY OWN time table. Sometimes a round takes me a day or two, sometimes it takes me 5 minutes.. I highly recommend this game to anyone of any age(my 8 yr old loves it too, it truly helps him with his spelling and word imagination ..enjoy all

So love it!. Love this game! A few suggestions: allow player to purchase shakes from accumulated points. The new level 9/25 restart board helps alot but when I lose on level 85, it hurts to go all the way back to 25. Should have a 50 restart level too. Place seperate button for stats and stop showing between each and every level. Too lengthy.

Addictive. This has been one of the most addictive games. I like to say it keeps my mind tuned up. Lol. It's fun and the more u play the more words you can find. I recommend it for those who want to stay tuned up mentally. Excellent game for when you are wanting in line or for an appointment. Easy to start and stop and restart later. I love it.

Love this app!. I've been playing this game for several years. It's fun and challenge without becoming monotonous. It's also help with my concentration disabilities from over 40 years of migraines. Unplayable. Attempting play now triggers ads. Used to work ok with ads between games. As iOS gets ‘smarter’, functionality decreases. Now erratic like many other apps that suffer from the ever ‘smarter’ iOS misinterpreting inputs

My favorite free word game. I love this game, it's fun, relaxing & still stimulates your mind. I have spent hours on it. It works on my iPad too which is awesome, it just doesn't go full screen, which doesn't bother me.

Annoying bug. The game is great and very addictive. But if you click on one of the ads, or someone calls you in the middle of a game, your game is messed up. For example i had 3 moves left and two remaining red letters. I accidentally pressed an ad and when i went back to the game i still had 3 moves left but all the tiles were red! Extremely irritating. Please fix!

Good. Great, very addictive. I've stopped playing though as once you fail a level you have to go back to level 1 or 9 depending on where you finished. When you get to level 40 something and you lose you can't be bothered going back to the start.

Rakesh & Shashank. My nephew in grade 2 and I play together with lot of fun in finding/making words. It is both like education and game. I would call as intellectual game. I would certainly rate 5 stars.

Boggle. Okay game but will only allow you to " shake" once per level even though it suggests you shake if stuck on the last move. This leads to frustration as you have to go right back to level one, which becomes a bit dreary after a while. If this is fixed it will be a great little time waster game!!

Word Jewel is great!. This game is incredible! A great combination of relaxation and excitement. I'm not one for games but this takes word search to the next level. Having reached level 72, I find the biggest challenge is to refrain from shaking. Patience is the key.

Best game ever!. I have downloaded tons of games, but this by far beats all of them!!! If it wasn't for this game, I would go nuts at work. It keeps me occupied. And I haven't got bored with this game at all. I have had it for three months now.

Fun!. but could do without the ads. Would happily pay .99 for no ads. Also, it takes a lot of time to get scores, be told what level's coming up, and then have the board reset for the next level. A little tightening up of that time would be nice.

Simple and fun. I've never seen another game like this...spatial and verbal. My only gripe is the absence of a few words as "real" such as "Zion". I'm not reading anything into that and a few others but the fact that it's hard coded is a little frustrating. Otherwise I find the game a, uh, gem.

Works fine for me. No problems with the update on my old phone. Btw you can email boy howdy at their website if you have problems and they are good at helping out. Love this game!

Fun & addicting. I like the way this game plays, with no timers, so you can search for the best words. One warning, if you get to where it tells you you can start on an upper level, pick a level before you leave the game, otherwise you'll start at level 1.

Addictive. Great word game! It only takes a minute to learn but, it's hard to put down – you're always thinking, "just one more level." The high scores are nice too. It does accept some weird words though, so stay on your toes.

Love it!. Love it! Favorite word game!!!! I wish it had a undo button. A few times it would shake the letters accidentally if I get too close to the button. I also would like to see if there were better word choices I missed and to be able to review a game.

No probs, great game. I have really enjoyed playing this game. Sometimes when I hit an extra button after I lost a game, it defaults me to level one, but after I "lose" that game it allows me to go to the level I select. Passes the time well. Wish you could level up sooner.

Love Words. If you enjoy games like Scrabble and such then you should really enjoy this game. Never the same combinations so it's always a new game. And you'll find that you keep getting better at finding new ways to make words. There's so many combinations

Good to pass the time away. Relaxing. I don't really keep track of scores just what level I get to, which can take a while if you only continue the play on and off. The ads don't bother me-I know when they're coming and can skip over them quickly

Awesome!. So addicted... My whole family is addicted & we are constantly competing. Only thing I'd like for the next version is a definition for the word. Sometimes I come up with the strangest words.. Wish I knew what they mean. :)

I love word jewels!!! Very addictive!. I also play words with friends, I enjoy word jewels because you play by yourself so you don' have to wait for your opponent to make a move to continue the game.

Loads of fun. This is a great game to challenge yourself by reaching for really long words. I spend too much time trying to improve my score or seeing how few moves I can use. I totally recommend it.

WARNING!!!! Brain usage involved.. This game will keep you busy using your brain. If your looking for a no brainer then this is not your game. If you want to improve your spelling capabilities then this game is perfect for you.

Word Jewels. Great vocabulary builder, guesswork pays off. Addictive, but love it! Engaging, entertaining and educational. The YAWL dictionary is sometimes obtuse, but a lifesaver. I've feared "word death" several times, but with desperation jabbing it saved me. However, some "real words" don't work. Thanks for saving me from dreary, rainy hours.

Word Jewel. I love this game. It really makes me think. But I was a little disappointed. I had my highest game ever. I was left with KU to use. I can not go to next level because the game would not take my use of the proper noun KUWAIT it is no doubt that it is correct. Please check this out. Love it, but.... This would be a 5 star game for me except that each day it sends me back to level one. This is so annoying especially after getting through so many higher levels. Don't know if other users have this problem too, but if not for that I would say this is a favorite game of mine.

Word Jewels is addictive fun (and relaxing). I'm really hooked on this game. It's deceptively simple. It's easy to learn, but still presents a challenge. Play for a few minutes or a few hours - you'll have fun. I recommended Word Jewels to many friends and they all are enjoying it enormously.

Addictive. I really love this game. Keeps me entertained for hours and love making up new words, love it! You should have some type of reward for getting past higher levels.

Jewel Junky. This is a very addictive game and challenging as well in the higher levels. I agree as you move up every 10 or 15 levels the screen display should change color combinations to ad a little more interest to the look. All in all great game!

Simple easy game lots of entertainment. Has entertained husband and I for hours. Good game to play when you only have a few minutes to kill, as it doesn't require lots of rules/planning

Not bad. The only thing I would change is once you get 15-20 levels in, it should give you the opportunity to have more than just one option to shake, esp if you have a high score. What's the point of Getting the larger words that are worth more points if there's no reward for it

Excellent.. The whole house is hooked! I love that it saves your progress if you leave and come back to it later. My only (very minor) gripe is no access to high scores on the iPod. Overall, a great little word game.

Fun!. I really enjoy this game. However, there are some annoying quirks (it restarts to the first level for no reason; if you are unable to complete a level - no matter how far you've advance - it takes you to level 9 or 25.) If the issues are resolved, I would rate this 5 stars.

The best free app out there. Perfect game for 3 minutes or 3 hours of free time! I love how you can leave the game and return where you left off. I got to level 136 and was so bummed when I lost I swore I'd never play again but I'm baaaaack.

Good but needs more. It really makes you be creative. Think there should be some sort of help or hints, as the sole info screen seems insufficient. Would also like to see stats for myself from all the games I've played. This feature is available I'm other games.

Addictive Fun!. As a long time fan of both scrabble and Boggle, this is a fun individual challenge I can enjoy anytime on my own, no need to wait for other players. I admit I've played for over an hour at a time and still haven't slowed down yet!

Educational and fun. I never thought that a game that my school bought could be fun! They take out the fun in learning, but when they bought this app on the new iPads....wow... We now have a contest to see who has the most points and highest level!

Great Game!. I came across this while waiting for my friends to make their moves in Words With Friends. It stimulates your brain without the stress of a timer. I play this game several times each day.

Great Game!!. I got to level 159!!! Is that a record?? At some point it stopped telling me what level with the banner, only said so in the left corner while playing (: Still tring for 160, and NO I don't want another shake. Thanks for a great app!

Addicting!!!. Absolutely loooove this game!!!! I'm hooked!!!! Wish their was a slide feature along with the scramble feature though where you could just swap two letters with each other.

Lots of fun!. This is a great game & reminds me of Scrabble Cubes. Just when you think there are no more words to find, you look harder and there it is. Just in case you are not successful, there are the help options you can play. Have fun!

Awesome free game. Not sure why this thing had gotten such bad reviews? While I would agree that the library might be off on a few words I look at this from a bang for buck standpoint. And for zero bucks you get maximum fun for the cost. Also a vocabulary game for kids!

Enjoyable. This is like Bookworm without the timer. It is a fun game, though I feel the difficulty could be amped up a bit. A "shake" should cost a move, since points are so simple to come by. All in all, though, it is fun, addicting, and great for a free app!

Works the mind!. I was looking for another game and came across this one! Glad I did, I love it! Don't have to wait for anyone to respond and can do it on my own time!

Great word game!. I am a big fan of word game apps. I would rank this among my favorites. It is fun, addicting and can be played at a leisurely pace. My only suggestion would be an update to allow you to keep a record of your personal high scores.

Enjoy the challenge. This game draws you in and keeps you challenged with each new level. Enjoyed the concept of a game that is simple yet appropriate for a large age range. I'll keep coming back to it!

Fun BUT needs UI improvements. Don't tell me I can Shake if I have already used that option and cannot use it again. How about realistic numbers if certain letters? Three X's, Y's or Z's on one board is ridiculous. Don't start me at level one when I first turn on app. Give me a choice if which level to start like you do at other times. Takes too long on the scoreboard before I can start next round.

Mentally challenging. Great free word game. Just two small complaints: the dictionary doesn't recognize many words once prefixes or suffixes are added and it takes quite a while to go from level to level because of the length of time spent loading level scores. But I keep coming back!

Great time passer!. Great word game. Haven't had it very long but can't usually put it down till I finally lose. Have only gotten to level 27 so far but have high hopes of getting further soon!

Second Chance. I really love this game but I wish there was a way to at LEAST get ONE extra shot at a level if I fail. Getting to level 35 & having to go all the way back to level 9 again if I fail is frustrating & makes me not want to play. It's too repetitive that way!  Thanks. Awesome otherwise. No annoying pop ups. 

Great!. Agree wish could get another shot. Love this game!!! If I could change 1 thing it would be if it could tell you if there were no word possibilities left. I've spent lots of time guessing and giving up, having to go all the way back to level 9.

Great game.. The best game of its kind that I've found. I enjoy competing against myself to get to a higher level each time I play. I sometimes wish that there were better letter arrangements to create different varieties of words. But overall, this is a great game.

Very Addicting. This game is very addictive. I like the fact that it's not timed. I showed this game to my wife, who isn't a big word-game player, and she is more addicted than I am. If there is any downfall to this game it's that it eats your battery life.

Score doesn't add up. I like the challenge and my daughter also added it to her iPhone and iPad, for the kids. But, several times now, I have noticed that the score does not calculate correctly. Just before writing this review, my score didn't change at all. I've been watching this and hope its going to be fixed soon.

Addictive!. Great game and very addictive! I play it every day when I need to just take a break from the other things I am doing on the iPad. I would even get rid of the ads, since they are annoying...it is worth it..

Absolutely the BEST!!. This is the most addictively wonderful word game. I love that it is a solo game that I can play 24/7. Every game is a challenge and I love that there is no clock ticking down so I can take my time to get the highest possible score. Thank you for a superb game!!

Addicting. Great game, I enjoy it very much, but have 2 complaints - I wish you could bypass the score page once you complete a level and also the "level xx" scrolling screen. It takes forever. Also it looks like you can't go past level 36. It just tells you "game over" after you complete it. Annoying!
