Great local news source. Having just moved to the area I subscribed to the Rep to help keep me informed on local knowledge and have been extremely happy with the coverage, content and the app.

Why. Proper presentation prevents poor performance!,,,,,!!!!! Confusing and frustrating. It was so simple before! Clayton Horn would never allow this disturbance ! Guess you do not know your subscribers!

High School Sports. I only wish that all Stark County Schools could get equal coverage! Canton McKinley, Massillon get much more coverage than other Federal League teams…

Great app for on the go !. Glad that I can enjoy the repository on the go on my phone as well as being a paper 7 day subscriber too .

Worst customer service ever!!!. It’s impossible to reach Customer Service! Phone just rings continuously. Our delivery is pathetic. As of Dec. 26, 2022, we have not received a paper in four days. Gannett Publishing which is out of state apparently doesn’t care about whether their subscribers receive a paper!

The Worst!. I have a monthly hardcopy subscription I pay for each month but when I’m not at home I can’t get into this app for nothing. I’ve even contacted the person it shared in the link and usually no response, says to contact someone else or get no response. What a joke this app is!!! If I could give no stars I would!!!

Best daily news paper. I live in Summit county but the Repository has a much better local sports coverage.

Excellent Content. The Rep app is for subscribers only now and allows guests to read only a few articles per month. No one would begrudge the paper's need to pay the bills, however I wish The Rep would have explored another revenue generating strategy that would have permitted open access.

Never receive all the news. Found many stories on other sites like Facebook that are from the Rep but are not found in their own app. If you’re going digital, do it right.

Subscription Requests. Despite having a digital subscription which renews every year, this app is constantly asking if I want to subscribe. Very annoying.

Paying for but can’t login. Worst new app anywhere. Next to impossible to login.

Wow! You've come a long way baby!!!!. I left Canton in 1985 and suffered through the early websites and mobile site. Wow! You've come a long way baby!!! Great Great App!!! Love the layout, love that I can continue to the next story. The ads aren't obtrusive. Graphics are superb! Uh, the Obits section hasn't been updated in over 2 months?? I'm sure this must be a new app glich?

Easy to find articles. Easily find articles and such. Great way of keeping up to date with local information.

Terrible!. I will Never use this app again. I have called for help so many times Ive lost count. I am always told I have to subscribe every time I try to read any article. I can’t read any articles at this time. Not sure what it takes to be able to read the news paper.

On line. Why is it so hard to sign on. I was a paid subscriber then stopped. Now I’ve started up and it’s a real pain

Lousy News Organization With A Matching Lousy App. The Canton Repository is a lousy news organization with a matching lousy app. We were subscribers to the useless hard copy newspaper for many years and did a smart thing; we canceled that subscription. We then purchased the online subscription through iTunes and that was a mistake. We paid for a year in advance since it was cheaper than monthly but the app won’t let us read articles listed as “for subscribers only” even though we are subscribers. We sent an email to The Repository advising them of the problem as instructed by The Repository and have received no response. We will not be renewing our online subscription when our one year subscription expires in Feb. 2023. Hopefully this will keep others from falling into the same trap as we did.

Nice update. I enjoy the Canton Repository app a lot. It’s always up to the minute with our local news and high school coverage as well as nationally covered news as it becomes available. Great job Canton Rep!

Great App. Love the Repository! Great articles (like always) and the price is great. Good reporting, and accurate titles. Nothing misleading or biased. Great!

Obnoxious pop-up. It seems you’re forced to turn on alerts, even you don’t want notifications. If you don’t want to accept alerts, you have to close and reopen the app every time you read one story.

Canton Repository review. Need to have real, more relevant and timely reporting. Many times, your reporting is either old by the time we read it or us incomplete and shallow at best.

Rep. Online coverage is good, Switched from home delivery, worked out well.

Changes. I’m a 50 year subscriber to the Rep and I’m adjusting to the changes.

Staying in Touch. I'm a stark county native, but recently moved to Chicago for college. This app is a great way to keep in touch with my community. Very easy to use, lots of necessary capabilities like links to Facebook and twitter. Only complaint is the limited selection of articles and the inability to access the cantonrep web home page for more info. Other than that, I'm very happy that I found a way to keep up with what is up back home.

Excellent Canton Repository App. We subscribe to the Canton Repository and also get the physical Sunday edition. Great local newspaper fo 66 years of my life now. Just discovered this app version of the Canton Repository news which I/we really like. Works extremely well and enjoy reading the news anywhere we go or at anytime.

New App!. The old app sucked. This new one is much improved, and is user friendly.

Terrible. Canton Rep constantly logs me out during use and now, while attempting to reset the online use, I cannot recover the e edition. Not worth the hassle!

Rep. Good app

Begging me to purchase still after purchase.. I’ve subscribed to your app. Why does it CONTINUALLY blast full page solicitations to subscribe for .99 cents when I’m already paying more than that monthly???

Terrible app. You can't enlarge the font size, the control does nothing. Text is too small to easily read even on a 12" screen. Moving jumping animated ads within stories make it tough to read. Many "stories" are blank, with no text at all. Polls don't work in the app. News is updated very slowly, making many stories over a day old before they hit the app. Pictures are generally huge and pixelated, or cropped in weird ways. Columnists pictures are also huge and very closeup, making them appear distorted etc. Scrolling the stories on the left of the screen is hit and miss...you'll be trying to get to other stories and it will refresh, not keeping you on the story you were trying to read. Doesn't anyone who works at the Rep ever use this app? Adding more info...you now get an ad on launch, and after reading 2 or 3 stories, you're told you've reached your limit of free articles. There are now moving ads in the middle of stories, and ads along the left side disguised to look like stories that launch web sites. This app has become useless.

On line Repository. Good coverage and the site has been updated to read well on my iPhone.

Never keeps my info. Won’t load and I have to sign in every time. I am a full physical subscriber. But hate this app!!!

Won’t work. It says it supports family sharing, but it just spins forever when I hit Restore purchases. I’ve resorted to using the website in the browser

City reader. Like the app, but the news articles need to be updated more frequently. Also I would like to receive breaking news alerts!

70 years family have enjoyed the Rep. We read it on line Then go to the real paper to see the small stories we missed

Log on. Even though we pay for and receive the printed version of the Repository daily, when I log on with my mobile device it still will not let me read articles. The app says I am logged on. I have deleted the app and reloaded it, still doesn't work. This is frustrating. Any suggestions?

Awful. Continually insists we SUBSCRIBE and fails to recognize we are paid subscribers! Fails to allow access!! 😕

Very Good. As a long time repository subscriber I really enjoy keeping up on hometown news while in Florida. This app works for me.

News paper app. Good over all review of news, entertainment, obits, and community. Slow to update and same articles appear for several days. Looks like just trying to fill space . Good app to have.

Review. Over all good local news source. Read your news on regular basis. The program is better than most and easy to navigate. Keep up the great coverage.

Mobile Rep. I like having the repository at my fingertips! It's nice to be able to read the paper from my mobile device when I have time!

Must pay for articles??. Can’t read any articles in app unless you subscribe! Awful business decision. Now many people and I won’t even have the app. We won’t see the ads that people pay to have in there!

Provides the news. This is a fine sampler of the news and is useful when traveling. It seems to be updated only once a day. Like another reviewer noted the obituary section is truncated.

Needs updated more often. I read both the paper and the app. I would love news as its happening.

Sad. Obituaries only hold first few names alphabetically. So no listing for deceased if you happen to die on a day when too many people with names that are alphabetical earlier die, too. That is amazingly poor taste.

Great local news. Works well

Great news app. I have a couple other area news apps. I have to say this one keeps up to date even on weekends unlike one I will not name. They should take lessons from this app of how to keep up to date. Great job repository.

Constantly crashes. The only section I read of the paper/use in the app is the Obituaries, so I'm not sure how the rest of the app operates. However, both before and after the update, I'll be cruising along in that section and, bam, it shuts down. So I give up!

I Expected More Breaking News. In today"s world of instant updates the Rep site is painfully slow to update breaking news, especially prep and college scores. Break away from your policy if waiting until it appears in print.

Nothing special.. About average for a newspaper app. but has the same problems as the print version, poor coverage of local news and events.

Great. Easy to use...up to date...love it.

Terrible. The Rep is so hard up for money that every other "story" on the app is an ad. Plus they have a wide assortment of click bait links for you. And of course, who would want to miss out on hard hitting journalism like stories about the best cupcakes in town. I can't believe I have to pay for this.

Terrible!. Worst app ever! Stories jump around when scrolling and filled with ads. They want you to pay to use the app after viewing a few stories. They should pay you to deal with the worst news app ever!

Great app. Easy to use app with enough content to make it worth downloading.

Pain to use. I have a one year subscription but it frequently tells me I’ve read all my free articles and won’t let me use it. I have to delete the app and download it again. Ads loading make the text jump up and push what you are reading off the screen.

Slow. Sometimes it runs slow and not updated

Repository. I am new to this type of receiving information. It is easy to read with sections blocked. Like the alerts whether it is weather or breaking news.

Keeps me up with Canton. Really happy to have this app. We moved from Canton in 2016 after making it our home for 20 years. Keep me updated and informed.

Crap site!. Site is always crashing. A pain to find anything. Every time they make “improvements” it makes everything worse. No wonder this newspaper is going downhill.

Subscription Fee!!??!!. Didnt look for any small printed section indicating how many free articles you are able to read, before being forced to see a pop up screen with an annual and/or monthly fee! I am local and unfortunately will be deleting this app because of the subscription fee! Its ashame i did enjoy being up to date in my area with crime and stupidity around me!!

Limited 'free articles'. There is a limit to how many articles they 'give' you access to and force a subscription fee if you do not pay. I live locally so I thought it would be a nice way to keep up with the local news. Very unfortunate They chose to charge people for access. Many better news sources in Northeast Ohio than this one. Has a very old-fashioned and conservative approach to all of their new stories.

Better than regular website. The Rep website is one of the worst. Ridiculous amount of pop ups/ads. The app works better but I can't figure out how to search for older stories.

Not Great. Overall, a fairly clunky app. Why is the obit section such a mess? The individual notices are often doubled, and frequently only go to the halfway point of the alphabet. Why is sports so heavily represented in the opening stories section? Please improve this app for all of us out of town natives who want to keep a finger on the pulse of Stark County. And please make the ad bar smaller and less intrusive.

Bad - really bad. Known in the area for it's hyper conservative and horribly biased reporting - this app struggles to deliver facts without it's 'angry old man' style point of view. Way too many religious articles - Canton always has been and always will be Akron's underachieving little brother. (and Akron is Cleveland's red headed step child). Bad app - you'l see.

Obituaries never update. Please update the obituaries daily!! I've had the same obituaries for 17 days. This happens often.

Repository Review. I really enjoyed looking at The Repository App until the one day I click on multimedia or some other section and the stupid kept popping up. Now it does this all time. They keep popping up when I don't even click on them. I may delete the app and try later to see if its fixed.

Not good. Pop ups are a problem. New is not updated as it should be. Especially on the weekend. Some of the stories are days old. Nothing kept current. Not pleased and may delete app and discontinue use of canton rep altogether. Very disappointed. No updates for several days. Obits are at least a week old. Some stories 2-3 days old

Very good app. The app is the best way for an out-of-towner to keep up with what's happening in Canton.

I wish I could give it zero stars. They seriously want paid subscribers to an app that works this poorly. Frequent crashes, but at least the ads load fast. Some sections, for instance the obituaries, run worse than others.

Slow to load. I use the app at least once a day on my iPad as an online only subscriber. Love the local content, but the latest version is very slow to load when I open it.

Try again. Like the last design. Lot easier to navigate through. What happened to the photos section? HOF there instead? Really? HOF info was just fine in the news section. The ads are ridiculous. I’m sure it’s great revenue, but put them in their own section so they don’t interrupt every other crazy thing going on with this “new app”!

Just one thing.... I really like the app. My only suggestion it that it be updated more often on the weekend. Seems like the same articles all weekend long.

Obituaries. So glad to get an email with the Daily Tributes. As I get older, I have to view them to see if I died! Thanks for this service.

App freezes and gets stuck. For a local paper, the content is decent. The app frequently gets hung up, however, and freezes. This is real annoying.
