iPhone 7 FAIL!. Working fine on is iPhone 5 but won't load streaming video on iPhone 7!! Please fix ASAP!!

Does not Work Currently. This application is only semi-reliable. Have been using this for over 2 years. Didn't have many issues at first, and for a good 1.5 years, it's been working well. It was until my DynDNS account expired, so i re-registered, and when I tried to input it into the settings on the phone, did not work, and still wont work. I've been looking into troubleshooting this for 2 weeks, and others are saying that an update has made the app lose it's functionality, and Digital Watchdog has been no help so far.

Broke with ios17. App seems abandoned by original developers. This has never been the best iOS app but the latest IOS 17 means the app has to be restarted with each attempt to access my cameras.

Terrible App. The app rarely ever works. The software on the desktop isn't much better. When I do get the app to work it won’t the next time I try to use it.

Hate it!. The most pathetic app I have experienced. Does not open with new iOS update! Rewind is horrific. Cavemen had better tools then this.

Terrible App.. Probably the worst app I have installed on my iPhone. It makes me regret buying their camera system at all. The app is not intuitive and has so many bugs it’s absurd. It’s difficult to search your camera’s history too, which should be a basic working feature. Will certainly never buy another DW product again.

Garbage. You call this an app, it’s 2020 this would have been barely acceptable 5 years ago. Arlo, dropcam are inexpensive products with 100x better user interface. Just try looking through old footage with this thing. Cmon guys get to work, don’t want to replace my whole system over this.

excellent app that is being misreviewed. After reading the reviews I have to point out to the 1-stars that they probably have the wrong setting for their IP entered. When I had the system installed by my team at Solutions International we linked the device to my home IP before I left for a trip. When I tried to run the app the first time from my hotel I was greeted by a blank screen and a notice that I could not connect. Upon getting in touch with my team they informed me that I had been given some misinformation regarding the proper setup of the software and that an alternate IP must be used to connect from an offsite location. Try getting in touch with the guys you had install the system for the proper information needed to connect. Aside from this minor connection issue the app is excellent I can keep an eye on my place and make sure that everything is in order. Quality of the picture is partially dependent on the standard of your cameras but in most cases delivers a sharp and clear image. The picture does have a slight time delay of about .75 seconds from real time but that fact aside I would recommend the Digital Watchdog system to any Mac user. PC users will have better luck with the Honeywell system which also has a iOS app but is made to run off a PC platform. Hope this helps people out.

Who tested the updated app before releasing it?. The latest update appears to work on the iPad, but not on the iPhone. Come on guys please get your act together and get this fixed now! How about addressing this issue on your websites support section. There appears to be only silence there! This app used to do exacting what it designed to do. Not anymore! I left this email for their Customer Support Director on there website this AM. I suggest that everyone who has been affected by this issue do the same: I called your technical support department yesterday regarding the fact that after you released an update to your iPhone app last week my cameras went silent on my iPhone. I was told that there would be a new update posted yesterday afternoon. There was no update as promised; and, there is no mention of the issues your customers are facing with this most recent update. I find it hard to believe that you have not taken an active approach to keep your customers appraised of this situation on your website.

Video Playback on IPhone. Unable to control the playback of footage. Please fix bugs in App.

Really????. The number for tech support on your app is just a whole bunch of BS offers for auto insurance, life insurance, road side assistance, and other bull. We can’t even pull up past footage from yesterday; we had an incident we need to see and we can’t even speak with someone to get assistance. Switching companies.

Good upgrade. I very much like the recent update. Works flawlessly for me. A really usefu improvement would be to allow a separate default page configuration for each device for those who are monitoring multiple locations. It would be nice not to have to click on the "4 page" configuration for our system with only 4 cams. Ditto the "9 page" configuration for our system with 9 cams. Hopefully, in a future upgrade.

DNS not working any longer. DNS connection doesn’t work anymore after last App update.

Upgrade works, but lost nice features. After upgrading, every site connects and works. But I sure miss the swipe left or right to bring up the next camera. Not only was that 'flashy', it made scrolling through images easier. This new version is slow on my iphone4. Now off to check and see if they put in the playback speed indicator when watching recordings.... Nope. Playback all but dead on this version with no intuitive controls for Play direction and speed control. Sad.

Works with bugs. Layouts don't fit +size phones, or iPad Pro. In playback, once you start, you have no controls on playback (speed,ff,rw) - "quick search bar" disappears after you press "play". Search tab disappears and you must start over to find it. No export video on device No ability to see motion triggers, must playback for hours to find what you are looking for

Password incorrect. I’ve been using the app for several years it’s not the greatest app, but starting about a month ago when I launch the app it says the password is incorrect. I have three or four devices they all say the same thing I have not changed my password. some thing else has changed.

Good but could be better!. Downloaded to iphone third generation and found it working well both through my internal wifi and outside with the 3g and other networks. I am a little concerned about the additional functions of the app (remote settings) that appear to not be working yet; that is unless I have to enable my security computer to allow certain remote functions outside its control.

Digital Watchdog Fan. To the user who got a 'network protocol error': one of the settings on your Internet connection changed. To the user who said it doesn't playback: only the 480 & Flex models offer playback. The stripped down V-Max doesn't have that option. This app is way better than Samsung's Ipolis or Everfocus's Mobilefocus. Thumbs up DW. Your biggest fan.

Doesn't always work. The app doesn't always work and you have to completely close out the app to update the video streaming. Please update the app to work better

problem in new upgrade. Made the mistake of hitting update all while I was traveling and knocked off all access to my cameras. I kept thinking that it was me and that the access codes were not correct. Was shocked when I returned from trip and the iPad, which I did not take and did not update, worked perfectly. Spent another half hour making sure all access entries were correct and reinstalled the app and it still was not working. Was relieved that others had the same problem as I thought I would have to call my security camera person who bills by the hour as well as travel time. How frustrating that there is a bug in the new app. Possibly the designer was fired from apple.

Best App I have used. By far the best app that I have used. The Help menu that has been added with this upgrade has all of the answers that I was looking for. The 2 finger page turn is an axcellent feature as well as being able to move the cameras around by using one finger. The search feature is user friendly and has helped when I need to review video quickly. Very fast and easy to use. GREAT APP. GREAT product line!!!

Won’t open after Apple upgrade. This 1990’s program won’t even open now

Pinch to zoom???. Will this app ever offer pinch to zoom? Been using this app for years hoping for this in an update.

Still does not search, useless!. I was so excited after all these years to see if DWD really fixed this app. Nope, it is still completely broken and will only show live footage. You still can’t search for an event at a certain hour or date. Totally useless for surveillance.

Watchdog app was working find until last update in March 2020 I have it on Mu iPhone and tablet;problem I have internet connection on house monitor, everything fine,but when I past my house camera not working -like no internet.i called slomin and Best Buy’s can’t find anything wrong-I even deleted app and reinstall = still can no figure out problem

Worst app. This app is trash. When my wife and go to play back our video, it hardly ever works. If you get it to work it’s 50/50 on whether or not you can control the video at all. Complete garbage.

Crash. New IOS isn’t compatible. Doesn’t work at all.

App does not work on iPhone through C-Spire phone company. Hello, I have had this problem for a while and it has persisted through all the updates. I work for a security company and need the app to check on the security systems we put in. My boss who has a iPhone through AT&T works no problem, but when I try to use it on my iPhone through C Spire it just continuously has the dots spinning around in the center of the screen as if it's still loading. The app works when my phone is hooked up to wifi, but not when using just cellular data. Please fix this. It is urgent

fantastic upgrade!. When i first upgraded the app i was fristrated as it seemed to not do the page turn feature as we were use to but once i read the help menu, and started to use the two finger push - all was right with th world. the new remote programming is awsome, the ability to move the camera in the various positons on the fly is perfect as i manager multiple location through the region. very intuitive! Thank you DW... another 5 star release!

What's going on?. iPhone 6s (mine), iPhone 5s (husband), iPad Pro - app won't load the live stream from our youngest's PreK class. Everything is working on their end. The app won't connect to any network on any of our devices. What gives? UPDATE - much better. My apologies for the 1 star before - looks like the issue was on the school's side.

Needs updating and/or iOS support.. The app will not open with the new iOS update.

TERRIBLE APP. I agree with most of the 1 and 2 star reviews so I won’t reiterate the issues here. However, I will comment on the 5 star review from “Bigsmoke420” whom states “ Upon getting in touch with my team they had informed me that I had been given some misinformation regarding the proper setup of the software…”. Users such as me don’t have “teams” to assist them with the app nor should the app require a team to get right which, based on your review, seems that even with a team you couldn’t get it right, at least at the outset. By the way, based on the Version History, the app hasn’t been update for 4 years at the time of writing this review so not surprising the app has issues and lacks features such as pinch-to-zoom. Rating: 1 star.

Easy to use!. This app is the same across all the VMAX platforms, so no learning curve from old analog to HD Analog and IP Plus units.

Worst live camera app ever. Literally this is one of the LEAST user-friendly apps I've ever seen. Nothing works on the app and clicking on different screens is next to impossible. You cannot use the app to do anything it's supposed to do. Would not recommend to anyone

Terrible!!!!!. Has not worked on iPhone or iPad for several months. Today my dog nearly drowned in the pool and I needed to be able to look at footage and see how it happened and how long he was under water!!! Shame on you guys!!!!!!!! Look at all these complaints!

A few glitches but not bad for free!. I was a bit skeptical after reading all of these negative reviews but I got the app for my security system and have to say yeah there are a few known issues with this app but over all it does pretty much everything that is promised. It works fine on my iPhone 4s and iPad 2 haven't tried it on an iPod because it doesn't say anywhere on the box or literature that it works on that device, but I have no connection problems. The app runs smooth and lets face it can you really beat the fact it's free? I think once the bugs are fixed should be a 5 star app.

Not working after update. As usual the app in not working after every update like yesterday it is not showing that it saves the info I put and the icon of the place name is invisible my operation system is IOS 8.4

Dw app flaw. Love the app .... BUT! I cant look at single view camera then swipe my finger to switch to next camera. 4 stars. Correct this and it will be perfect!

Display. It would be nice if when you set the app to display only 4 channels, it would stay that way even once you close the app and re-open it.

Frustrating!. I used to like this app allot until you updated. First it disappeared and now it's back and I still can't get it to work! Security cameras are worthless of you can't use them when your away from your business! Please fix this! I'll give you 5 stars when I can actually use them.

Works well. Been using it for a couple years now and it works well. Only downfall in playback is you can't slow the speed down.

Adequate but needs improvement.. I use the app to check my 4 video cameras attached to a vmax flex - a system that can only handle for cameras. The app doesn't appear to have anyway to remember that I only have 4 cameras so each time I use I have to reclick the quad display. Annoying. Also if you accidentally maximize the display it is very difficult to get it back to normal.

Not bad. Good basic app. Easy to set up and use. A few improvements could be made: 1: Audio should be through speakerphone speaker, not headset... No one is watching the cameras with their phone to their ear. 2: remember the last view used, and load it next time. I hate seeing 16 views when all I have is 3 cameras. 3: it is very difficult to take the view out of full screen mode. I usually have to end and restart the app.

New version is sloooooow. Don't upgrade!!!!!! This new version 2.0 is slow on my 4s No paging through cams anymore. The whole thing is just choppy. You broke an ok app. Still was not as nice as Digimerge mobile. But DW desktop software is great. But I would expect you will be updating this mobile app soon as it is slow and hard to bring up menu options. Come on guys. Don't go backwards with updates. I hate when companies do this !

Needs work. Very basic app Not very responsive on iPhone Locks up in one function and requires a reboot of the phone to reset basic app tools. I'll be glad to pay a reasonable amount for an upgrade if it exists.

Wide Screen?????. Why is it set to wide screen in portrait mode??? Please take out the wide screen. Also I only have two channels that I'm using why is the default screen always show the 16 boxes. I should be able to set that. Otherwise this is an awesome and convenient app. Having this app makes having the whole system so much more useful!

All Saved Fields Have Disappeared. When my cameras wouldn't display on the app like they usually do, the app indicated no connection and to review settings. I went into settings to find that all saved fields were blank even though I never erased them. I now have to completely renter the ip info and reprogram the app.

OK - THROWING OUT ALL DIGITAL WATCHDOG PRODUCTS. I can't understand how a company can fail to respond to emails telling them the app functions (after disastrous upgrade & then reverting to the old app) still doesn't work as described. Customer service must think I'm an idiot - I own several systems - DW - the only system that has issues. So… I am throwing out this system and will NEVER purchase from DW. Even my Harbor Freight $230 system (after tweaking in an upgraded software) is reliable with NO problems.

DO NOT UPDATE!. Most will have already updated if they are reading this unfortunately. I have automatic updating and so do most of my clients and my phone hasnt stopped ringing from upset clients today. I cant believe they would put out an update that just plainly DOES NOT WORK! What a joke. I hope they are frantically working on the fix today!

VERY mediocre app just became useless. I just upgraded to 3.5.9 and what was an incredibly mediocre/frustrating but usable app before the upgrade suddenly became wasted bytes on my iPhone. Devices don't show up in the device list and they can't be added. Way to test your product before releasing it DW! Especially comforting for a security company...I'm glad my life or safety don't rely on this app. Oh, wait, it could. PLEASE FIX THIS!

Digital watchdog flex. Use this product for the lost five years .Have had nothing but success ,love the product. Once up and running very stable.

Digital Watchdog?! What's up?!. It's been a few months now that I'm not able to live view my cameras unless I'm connected to my home network. What gives? Should I be using a different app?! Any suggestion would be GREATLY appreciated.

What Happened???. I updated the app July 1. July 2 everything is missing. I am unable to enter login information back into the app. Each time I do this it does not save. I have this app on several devices. I tried deleting and reinstalling but on some of the devices the app won't even complete the download and just show as waiting. Something in the update has wrecked this app. Up until this point I have had no trouble viewing my cameras.

New version is a downgrade. I loved the old version of this app. The ability to see my house when I'm away is invaluable. Unfortunately, the 'upgrade' is a disaster. Incredibly slow to start and load images, frequently requiring a close out and restart. Lately it shuts itself down. So disappointing!

My favorite app! Not anymore. Upgrade in Feb 2012 is a failure on 3G network. Works ok on Wifi. Usually no cameras or one or two cameras display on 3G. All cameras used to display old version on 3G. I hate this upgrade. I want to go back. Please just let me go back to previous version.

Works great, but I have a couple suggestions. for me this app works great on ally devices. It does need pinch to zoom/out. It also needs to be able to swipe through cameras with one finger...not two.

Does What I Need. Decent app. A little tough to set up at first. I like having my cameras on my phone but I would like to have all of my cameras on one screen. I am just unsure how to do that. Other than that, it's a pretty good app.

Gr8t app. Just downloaded today and I love it! I have only seen it crash once. Other than that it works great. It would be nice to have remote PTZ control in the full view mode. Great job DWD!

Hello?!. Can you give your users and partners an idea of when this will be fixed???!! This should have high priority and at the least a response would be nice. We have numerous clients that we link our business up with your app who rely on this app daily. Please give us an indication that a fix is forthcoming ASAP.

App Broken. Hate to beat a dead horse but app still not working. Thought it was a "me" problem until I saw all the negative reviews. Since updating we have had zero access to our cameras that have been instrumental to my business thus far. Please address the issue or at least let us know a time frame for an update to fix the issue.

Saved Back Up. Okay. A relief to have remote access using our iPads once again. Uninstalled previous update that would not allow you to save site information. Installed July 9, 2015 release version and we are back up!

We need another fix again!!. After one week of not being able to view the live feed and any functions within the app. Which to me was truly unbelievable and that a company such as yours, allowed this to happen. I downloaded the new update and now the settings icon doesn't have any information in it at all. WOW!!!!!

Worked then stopped. It worked until this past Saturday. I called them, and they blamed it on my router. Haven't changed my router, so WHAT IS GOING ON?? ridiculous!!!! UPDATE: It works again! All I had to do is reboot my router. If yours isn't working, try simply rebooting your router.

FIX???. Just wondering how much longer is this app will be NOT FUNCTIONAL. Please hurry and get this fixed. I'm a Vmax Dealer and this time is taking them too long to get this problem solved. Hope don't have to go with another brand so customers can get their mobile access.

best app out there. all of the features are still there but optimized. I read the help menu and found everything I need plus new features. there isn't an app out there that can top this, paid or free! way to go DW!

The new Upgrade ( v2.0) works but.... The current version (v2.0) works but is a little slow. Also you have to enter a channel range in the "ch" field or you just will not connect. Ex: 1-4, or 1-16. I noticed that at least on the iPhone, the playback feature does not work.

Works great. All of you just are not using the right company to install.I've never had a problem.

Needs work.. App is ok. Can view the cameras fine however, playback is very difficult and not user friendly. Also, there is no way to view the push notifications. What good is having it if you can't view it and have to look at the reminder on the home screen.

GM. i have had this system up and running in my house for about 2 years and it has worked as expected. The app is on my iPhone and I just purchased an iPad and am in the process of setting it up on it. I have no complaints.

Don't upgrade. Only giving one star because required at least one to review. Used previous version for 18 mos with no problem. "Upgrade" today is joke. Blank device screen and only option available is help. Web link on help page is not a valid site. Now I have no way to view cameras remotely. DO NOT upgrade app until it is fixed

Hmmm. Not impressed...at all. First of all 2 of my cams simply won't load. NEVER was an issue before. Can't stand the 2 finger swipe crap to change cams. Most times it goes backwards. It was so easy to nav cam to cam before. If it ain't broke don't fix it or start a new app for the fancier models. Jeez. You just complicated and ruined a simple app

Not reliable. I've had a video surveillance system professionally installed 1-1/2 years ago. The remote viewing works most of the time. And the remote search function is very difficult to get to operate at best. On multiple occasions it failed to work at all when attempting to investigate a problem around the protected property. I can't recommend this app if you desire reliable operation.

Video locks up occasionally. Ever since the last update the video stream locks up occasionally. Thanks for iPhone 5 support and relay button. I have no problems connecting locally & remotely like others are saying.

Works Great!. Digital Watchdog's support is excellent! The app has always worked for me. Create a device for when your within your wifi and when not using your wifi.

Do not download latest update!. The latest update is a disaster! Not only did it wipe out my currently configured device it won't let me re recreate it! That makes it utterly useless. Back to the drawing board guys, and do a little testing next time before you release. 100 percent disappointed with Digital Watchdog at this point!

Doesn't Work On IPhones. This app doesnt work on Apple Devices which is really annoying because i want to know what is going on around my house when im not home. But i am not able to do that because the cameras dont open up on any Apple Devices. This app needs an update because i just spent a ton of money getting cameras installed around my house and i cant even see any of the cameras at all...

Worked great.. I was having no issues with the current version. Not sure why the web access is not connecting. I am looking for current reviews for October.

Red dot with number 1. I had this problem and figured out that if your wireless doesn't have a signal, go into settings and make sure cellular data is on for this app. The number will go away when you turn it on.

The new version ROCKS!. I liked the old version. But the new version is better, faster, and the PTZ controls work correctly. DW made an excellent upgrade. I haven't updated my iPad yet, but will do tomorrow. I lole it- very professional for an iPhone APP.

Custom integrator. This app works as advertised, still has a few bugs that need to be ironed out. I have over 70 different job-site cams on my iPhone and everyone of them works perfectly. You just have to follow instructions on how to set it up properly.

Nice and simple!. I really like this app. It's user friendly and intuitive... The video loads really quickly as well.
