Almost perfect. I’ve been loving this app since purchasing (especially after the addons) but the one thing I am missing is thumbnail support. Any chance of adding that in the future?

Great program but unable to get support. Great program but there is a bug. The sound boost does not work for mp4 files. Tried reaching the site, and does not exist. Found a forum, but not getting access.. Hopefully the developer will read this. What flash icon

Bring back SAMBA download!. While the app is still great for playing videos, I still don't want to have to use wifi transfer to download videos. Please bring back the ability to download via SAMBA.

avi problem. It play avi from samba there is no sound but when copy to app the sound is ok.

Newest version ruined app. The option to download videos from my server was removed in the latest version. This makes the app useless to me, since I want to take some of my videos on the road with me. Before this I would have given it a 5-star revie

Perfect iOS player.. I used it for years and it's enough for any kind of video playback. Also it can play or show some different kind of files.

Works as advertised. Not as kludgy as VLC for iOS. Easy to get stuff in and out of, and plays just about anything I can throw at it.

Fixed! Features restored!. A year or so ago a number of critical features had been removed from this app, due To some new policy interpretation. Finally, those features have been restored! Thank you!

Great app!. I picked this app because of the ratings, and haven’t been disappointed in what it’s able to support. I’ve loaded it up with hundreds of gigabytes of films, videos, clips etc in various formats but mostly mp4s. They all play fine. One problem: I didn’t think the picture-in-picture worked before, but I figured out the problem is with support for iPads without a Home button. The product is confused by the new gesture interface, so PiP mostly doesn’t work. But there’s an easy fix: add a button that indicates explicitly that you want the screen minimized to PiP. Can’t register on your forum to leave this msg: PLEASE fix in future version. —G

Using it for over 4 years and never wanted to use other players. I have used this app for many years. It not only keeps updating but also become even better.

Wonderful app- it works!. This lets me listen to audio files that are not mp3. I can hear a lot of important things that way that otherwise I would miss.

Why?. Why did you (the developers) remove the web browsing and download functions?!?

V 3.4 has been significantly crippled - do not update. Loss of download features in v. 3.4 , and the burying of this important detail at the bottom of the list of new “features” in the description of the update so that most will not notice until too late, has made me withdraw my previous five star rating for this app.

Audio minimizing. Hi dear developer, thanks for your amazing app, I just wanted to mention that for audio formats, the player cannot be minimized, it’s very well for videos, but not for audio (pop up mode), I really need that minimizing to stop or pause in minimized screen like video formats, and also multi subtitles features Thanks in advance

CRIPPLEWARE of a Formerly Great App. Oplayer was for many years a go to for all video. The dev improved and finessed it to a fine and totally needful app. In terms of playback, it’s still up there. It can indeed play many and sundry audio or video file formats which other apps can not. Occasionally the audio lagged behind the video. For all that, I would otherwise give it a solid 4.5. But the dev has earned 1 star by disabling one of the most basic features of Oplayer. Samba shares are now restricted to streaming. That is, you can scan for videos on your local network, from a computer or storage device, and stream them. But you can not download them to your iPad. This is an absolutely inscrutably bad decision to remove this feature. The WHOLE POINT of Oplayer is to download videos to it to play when away from home, without the need of a network. Why eliminate the basic functioning necessary to use the device? Also deleted is apparently the in-app web browser. I never used it much, but valued it being there. Perhaps this was in response to the recent hardware exploits. One can use another browser to send a downloaded web file to Oplayer. And if one is moving files to Oplayer from a computer, one can still move them from a computer using the Oplayer FTP or Bonjour servers. But if you use a net storage device, you are now up the creek. I heartily encourage the dev to RESTORE SAMBA FUNCTION immediately. Well, now I have to go find a new video player.

Plays videos that VLC won't. I'm impressed by OPlayer HD, which has been able to play several videos VLC balks at. Definitely worth a purchase.

useful, met all needs I have. (Sped up videos, small screen for iPad Pro, etc.). I read posts about how to sped up videos like we could do on YouTube’s, and got a list of apps, including OPlayerHD. I downloaded many of them, and tried almost all of those, sequentially^ ^ At last, I, even haven’t deleted all others, I do started mainly using OPlayerHD. I wanted to sped up some of my studying videos then go back or forward seconds, or play some music during leisure time so to minimize screen on my iPad Pro(iOS 11 or so), and leave blank for future needs, haha. I think if is an on-going developing app, and I hope it will continue to be so. Therefore, when the ads popped up asking for encouragement/ payment by upgrading to full/ paying version, yeah, oplayer did get my backup, and happily purchased. Still, crossing my fingers, hope that it will not let me down~~

I paid for this app and was chested. I have both versions of this app one is the lite and the second is the upgrade to pro I’ve been hitting the restore button hoping that my purchase would be acknowledge and they would unlock my app that I paid for but their doesn’t seem to be a recorded of it so watch out people buyer beware their theirs and nothing more

Support for DualShock control would be awesome. Would be nice to rewind using the thumb stick.

Crash and crash. This program crashed too often

Unreliable. I use OPlayer HD to play videos from my NAS on an SMB share. My iPad Pro has iOS 13.2.2. It works well for several months, but then for several weeks in a row it won’t show any content, just loading forever without any feedback or error message. When I go to my laptop, the NAS content shows up just fine without delay. Also I bought the application, but still it asks for more money, just to display images etc. I haven’t found anything better, but there is sure room for improvement.

Good app. Good for video and music and pictures, Id give you 5 stars but why should i buy your app twice?! Literally every app on the store, allows you to download the same app to ipad or iphone. Not yours “do you wanna support the devs?!” I did i bought your app and all the in app purchases. Yet the iphone version keeps asking me to “buy it” why should i? You got 13 bucks from me, now you want more? No! You had enough update: Yeah that sounds like a bad excuse “Different experience” thats changing it to one stair

It was good. It was good when I streamed my video from FileBrowser, everything was fine until an upgrade. Loading more data haunts me, and I am so frustrated that I even worry to open it as it is a waste of time hoping that an update will solve the problem. this app on all my devices not work like before. Depressed.

Does not load files from a folder with more than 10 video. With the recent update, when using UPNP, folders with more than 10 files are not loaded. Upon selecting the folder, the program crashes or become in responsive. This was not the case with the previous version. Is there way to go back to the previous version. Windows built in upnp/dlna.

Video thumbnails. App has great reviews and good playback. However I loaded tons of tv shows onto my kindergarteners iPad with this app and was disappointed to learn video list appears in a text file list only. I did not find an option to display video list with thumbnails like so many other apps do. Now it will be a challenge for my daughter to pick shows without the help of a parent. If there is a way to enable video thumbnails please share. Thanks!

Download option removed with paid version. The light version does an excellent job playing my MKV. movie files. Therefore I was was happy to move from the light version and buy the paid version to remove the ads and unlock other features. However after paying for and downloading the full version I see that the option to download movies from my home remote network drive has been removed in the paid version. I'm not sure why features are removed when you move from a "lite" version to a paid version? Please add this download feature back in future updates please.

Streaming to Chromecast not available yet. App tells me that it’ll work with Chromecast but it doesn’t work yet. Still a great player overall.

Satisfied. This app has been a great way to store and play videos, but all of its capabilities are truly amazing. I’ve owned this app for years, and it’s still surprises me with its many great features, and depth of quality.

Update took features away!?!?. Took URL player and web browser away. Why? Probably not a common feature used by most, but why give less? It also separated the app from others. Please bring back!?!?

Network Shares. I searched for so long to find a quality app for accessing network shares. This app exceeded expectations.

Must have app !!. If you own an iPad or iPhone this is a must have app, does everything you need as far as media playing.

Interface. Its a good player. But it will be better, when we have some updates for its graphic design and better display. I hope we see better and user friendly interface in new updates.

Still can’t do pictures. I paid for pictures but the app still fails to show all in a folder. It has no problem with videos. Since other apps have no problem with jpg files, I find this puzzling....and annoying. I have the latest version. I should add that for videos it is excellent. If you don’t mind having to switch apps for pictures, get this one for videos.

Very useful tool for musician. Very useful for downloading audio/video files from email and text attachments to listen/view. File name edit features and storage folders are useful. No feature in current version to share files by attachment to email or text is aggravating and why awarded only four stars.

Very useful media player. I have been searching for a media player app that meet my needs and have feature that support audio left/right channels. However, there are some small slight glitch on the toggle feature. Where, I would have to toggle on the audio left/right channel twice for it to actually switch to left or right channel.

App is useless after the latest update. They removed the web browser which makes it impossible to stream of http. The Samba feature will not reliably play all the same videos that used to play fine in the browser. The app is useless and I want a refund!

App can be better. Please add File transfer via external hard drive. With new update apple has allowed for external devices to be connected would be nice for file transfer via external hard drive or watch via external like the lite iPhone version. Thank you.

playlists work for local files, unlike with VLC. I keep getting a message to put the files in “my documents”, but no such location exists on IpadPro. But at least i can watch a playlist of videos

Sound sync issues. This app is very good but I have had some issues where certain AVI files suffer from audio sync issues. these same clips play fine on other devices so I can only assume it's a problem with the built in codec. Apart from that I think this is a worth while app, ESP if you want to watch flash flv videos. Well with he money in my opinion.

One of the Best!. This is hands down the best video player on the iPad. After trying a lot of alternatives I found this to be the most stable and reliable across all the usual video formats. Paid version is ad free

Dont bother. The world is screaming out for an app that can properly play video files other than apple ones (such as divx and mkv) This isnt it. The audio is completely out of synch on standard def divx files. Even on low res files it is rubbish There is a feature you can use called skip frames. That marginally improves the synch problems, but makes it look like you are watching it through a strobe light, it seems to drop half the frames The program developer is quick to respond to issues, but his suggestion is of no value. This was his response "When you switch off the skip frame, it will looks jumpy, but better sync. When you switch on the skip frame, it will not jumpy, but maybe out of sync, if your video resolution is large" stay away

Charged twice. Update: Now they have deleted the key features from the app, however the non HD apps have these just fine BUT have to purchase again..... Sigh Your "blog" for tech support had no title for this issue. I had OPlayer Lite and took up the offer to get full version. I did this and thought updated the lite version. However went to use it again and still had ads so thinking my purchase didn't go through click on the buy to remove ads. But looks like the first buy got the full version OPlayer HD. As a result been charged $6.49 twice. Pleas refund the $6.49 for removed ads please

5 star rating now. It is these best video player I have purchased and I have tried about six of them . I use it to watch tutorials so the ability to rewind back so easily to review points of interest is excellent . Also the controls are easy to operate and well laid out with the ability to leave them visible or hide them while watching a clip . The only thing I would like to see in future upgrades is the ability to drag the video files into a different order . This is something that I wish in the future and does not take anything away from what is a brilliant player , well done guys .

Improved. Luv de new interface, hated the old one. Need to move the Nav buttons from the vid screen out of the way, and down to the bottom Nav bar, so we can watch full screen. Else this is still best movie/vid app around.

Very happy with this product. Have been using this for quite some time now and have always been happy with it. There is the occasional video file with sound problems because of the lack of AC3 audio support. But this is the same in many other players now. This is a good all rounder and should be considered.

What's happened since iOS 6.1 update. Worked perfectly before update. Since the updates I seem to have lost connectivity to my library on my Seagate drive and can no longer download and store videos to replay at a later date. Can anyone help me?

Most useless app now!. Since removing the 'download' option, this is now the most useless App ever! The sole purpose of my purchasing this app was for me to be able to download content from my computer on to my ipad and watch that content when traveling. Now without a simple way to transfer new files what is the point of this app????

Brilliant in it's simplicity.. I bought this app to be able to play backing tracks for my performances. The ability to run the whole lot off my iPad without having to lug my laptop around has been brilliant. This little program simply works. The playlist function is easy to manage (once I figured out how to change the order of the songs played), and it is a very stable app, where others have given me headaches by simply kicking me out at times. It handles a great variety of files and does so with ease. My one criticism would be the fact that it doesn't stay up after the screen has been locked and unlocked. But all in all, I love it! I've been looking for a competent app to do the job and this is the one.

Update. Everything worked fine from streaming to downloading until the update... When I press on a movie to play it takes a while for the player to initialize and sometimes it crashes, when downloading something to my iPad it sometimes doesn't download the complete file or it just fails...please fix these issues or roll back to the previous version cuz that worked perfectly

I agree with FOR85Y. I agree with FOR85Y. Even with the specs of these iPad 3 it should be able to decode these HD .avi files. Even when u download the movie or tv show to the iPad it's still a lil laggy with fast action scenes. However it is still the best streamer and media player I have experienced on my iPad 3. Just needs some more work. More smoothness with 720p and 1080 xvid and etc. files.

Worth the purchase. Great app with very few technical difficulties faced in the several years of use. A few files don't play for some reason despite being mp4s like the rest but otherwise very useful.

iOS issues?. Been using this player for years, but lately it wouldn’t play anything off the network or would start then crash or spend a lot of time buffering, even for tiny files it didn’t have a problem with previously. There was an issue some months ago with sign in protocols that this player stopped doing correctly, necessitating the use of another app to see the file then having to tell that app to open it in this app, but that issue disappeared after a month or so. Update: a reinstall and redoing all the settings seems to have sorted the playback issues. I currently suspect one of the iOS updates to have caused the issues or possibly that app offloading function.

Excellent overall support for videos. I've been using OPlayer for over a year now and it has always served me well. Very high quality videos benefit from being re-encoded but presumably one would do that to save space anyway. Recent versions, 2.x seem to be choppier than before, even on the third gen iPad, but overall it performs well enough.

Fantastic!!!. Awesome app used it for years. Be good if I could use my watch as a remote control, or my phone if using iPad. The file list doesn’t seem to update properly now when files are uploaded from Mac over cable,have to kill it and reload it 🤔.

Cause of issue discovered - if only an update could fix please…. Just letting you know with your great app that if you watch a video in a fast mode, I.E 1.5 x, 2.0x etc, the audio will gradually walk out of sync with the picture/image. Pausing and a swipe back/rewind and resume play seems to put it back in sync quickly enough. It doesn’t seem to happen on every video though, just some. I only play .mp4 formats. Video Podcasts play fine, some tv shows play without a glitch but others don’t, so I’m just letting you know what I’m experiencing as I won’t be the only one. Thank-You. Regards Colin. Any refunds for no audio. I used to use this as my main video player. I Purchased it. They of course were happy to take my money and I was happy to give as it did what it said and did it well. They then drop an update on everyone that totally changes the app, it now no longer does what it advertised to do. Ie play video with sound.....one goes with the other....if your hard on hearing then no sound with videos might not bother you.....for the rest of us....stay away from this app and dev....no replies to emails and no concern for the client base who have handed over money.....I'm giving 1 Star Gone back AVPLAYER HD...you might want to as well.....if you're having codec rights issues then purchase the usage rights with some of the money that your many clients paid over before you got caught out.......

Highly recommended. Have used this app for years and it works great. Play videos straight from a network share or transfer to the iPad for when you are on the go. Plays all sorts of formats.

Slideshow mode needs tweaking. I’ve been using this app for years and I wish the still shot section has a more sophisticated viewing system. It needs a random slideshow mode and thumbnails view. With those features I could consolidate two apps currently being used into this only.

Not bad but does not recognize sort subtitle files. Nice application, plays everything tried avi, mp4, MTV, flv files however not showing subtitles, played with subtitles settings but to no avail. Otherwise nice media player also no longer supports ac3 audio therefore for me almost no or very little value. Sad end of once nice application.....

Excellent video player. Works great with almost any file I throw at it. My only grumble is that when I purchased the full version, the files I had associated with the Lite version were not migrated.

Good But Has Important Flaws. I opened up this application and set up my cloud ftp server once i finished setting it up i accessed it and every time i opened a folder or a file it crashed i would continue to relaunch it and try to access the files but it kept crashing it also will not play the audio on any of my mkv files apart from those two problems I'm satisfied.

Work on it. Why did I give it two stars because money was wasted I paid the $7.99 for full version after seeing ad on lite version which says to remove ads buy full version I did that but none of my files in lite version were found in full version so it seems files cannot be migrated from lite to full version that's why I gave 2 stars then found out you need to pay another $7.99 to unlock all features which doesn't even offer migration of files why would I waste more money on something I cannot even use until they sort this nonsense out I recommend stick with lite version for now until migration of files is available that's my spit get it sorted before 2018

Great. Works as described. Great app. Bought it a long time ago now and still use it for streaming videos from a pc on my home network for watching on an iPad. It's been extremely rare that it hasn't had the codec for me, and considering they change all the time that's pretty good. The dev probably uses it him/herself for the same thing I suppose. But still, thanks! No issue with ads staying after buying paid version. I bought long time ago though. Do you have to download a separate paid app maybe?

Good system, still a few minor bugs. The program works well once setup, some tweaking is required to get it to that point. The are some minor bugs in the system that cause the ipad to freeze or fail to load following several actions, but all in all it works well and plays what it says.

Fantastic movie player. Excellent app, plays pretty much anything I ask it to with some excellent advanced controls if you need them. Streams off my network like a charm, too. There are no ads at all on the paid version. Uninstall the free version then install the paid version: ads are gone. Highly recommended.

Great!. Bought buzz player to connect with my goflex satellite..it was so out of sync that it is useless and no answer when emailed support. Oplayer look much nicer and worked as a charm! Great work guys. I'll give you 5 stars if I didn't have to enter the ip address to see the wireless hard drive. Thanks!

Good But Samba File Transfer Is Buggy. This app is quite good and shows lots of promise. The one thing I was looking forward to is the ability to transfer videos from my network (Samba) shares over wifi so I can watch them "off line". Unfortunately this is buggy. Sometimes the shares can be browsed and sometimes not. The app seems to open several sessions on the remote computer regardless of what you're doing and subsequently the remote computer can't service them all. If this was fixed, the app would be near perfect.

Now useless app. They have deleted the primary feature to this app, can no longer download from my network to the app so I can watch offline. Only choice is to stream or purchase. No point to this app anymore. Do not waste your time.

The lite version is better. With the lite you can download from a shared drive With the pro you can't. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

Won't resume.. It is incredibly annoying that this app always reverts back to the file system after being opened, so you always have to search for the film you were watching previously. I remember this app didn't always do this. The interface is also unnecessarily complicated. I'm looking for a replacement player.

HD version upgrade.. I recently bought the HD version hesitant at first because of the bad press this version got in comparison to the earlier version. Thankfully I have not experienced such problems and enjoy the use of this App as a learning tool in progressing my guitar playing skills through readily accessing downloaded video version guitar lessons.

Works for Me. Have had this app for over a year now and it does all that I ask it to. Haven't had a format that couldn't be converted and I find the app ideal for catching up on my favourite shows offline - great for airplane travel.

Was good. Tis was without a doubt the most used app on my iPad. But not anymore. The latest update crashes when you try to use wifi transfer, no audio in MKV files, and it seems to be a bit sketchy with avi files too sometimes. I understand sometimes updates go wrong, but the dev has not released a notice, or roll back or update to fix. That's pretty lazy IMO.

Useless..... Developer removed the ability to save files locally to play offline....

O Player. Very good, plays almost anything my iPad or iPhone can't play, simply by copying them to my device straight into the app. There are a few bugs still, but otherwise, it's a GREAT idea, considering Apple wanted their devices to be so "Individual" in their "IOS" operating system, as to require such a media converter.... That in itself is a charm. I definitely recommend this app.

OPlayer review. Seems to work fine for me. I use it to play videos (Lick Library guitar videos transferred from PC). Video and sound work fine. Layout is intuitive and appearance is very nice. This is an app that has become as essential to me as the music player. Combined with my Traveller guitar and earbuds, it is all I need for practicing. JerryA

Best ipad to TV compatible video player. Ive spent ages finding an app to import and play downloaded movies onto my TV. Easily transfer files via iTunes App file share Plays via Apple TV and digital cable. Thanks

Horrible since update. LATEST PATCH......Was a great app till update took out xvid and ac3 codecs, description should read, cant play much at the mo come back later. Also audio is out of sync a touch most of the time, 1080p support needed now as a a lot more stuff is coming through as hd. The app needs work not worth paying for till issues are fixed. .PRIOR TO LAST PATCH....... Once my network was setup properly to stream at high speed I had no issues with viewing from the htpc. However can you please make it so it sorts the files alphabetically, rather than the mixed up way it does currently. Also support for 1080p vids would be awesome, no issues with streaming 720 of below.

Great Program. Have been using this app for years now, had some small hiccups, but with each update they get fixed.

Positive review of Oplayer HD. This is the best app I have come across for playing videos on an iPad and I like how easy it is to download movies and tv series from other sources to play at your convenience. A few clunky things at times but nothing that stands out for me and each update has made it more useful.

Best app but... This is the best video watching app by far, I use it for online videos and videos I put on to my iPad from iTunes. It works great, but when I try to watch videos online, it always seems to stop working at around 8:59/9:00. It does this for every online video I watch, and since I use this app and love it so much, I really need this component fixed immediately. It has been happening for a while, and if you could fix it ASAP, I would give this app 5 stars.

Great app. Not HD friendly.. This app is great for streaming content from your home network. It handles standard definition content extremely well, but really struggles to stream HD content (both 720p & 1080p). It lags and the sound does not match the video. Still very happy with my purchase as I can just download the HD content from my network straight to my iPad. :)

App now useless. The reason I bought this app was so that I could download audio books and listen to them offline. The app is now useless and I’m sorry I paid for it.

Ruined by removing internal download functionality.. I bought this product to use with video transferred from other devices. This feature is now removed in the current version, I will be searching for an alternative.

Best Video Player for ios !. Please bring back Ac3 sound support

crash issues. I've had this app for a few months now, in the beginning it worked great, especially because apps like dropbox require internet connection to view files so i decided to pay for the 4.99 version. Now i have both apps (lite & paid ) and neither of them open files since the last update in April. Every time i opened the app with a .wmv file it closes automatically and some times closes the app all together. If this can be fixed it would continue to be a great app.

Not good. Not good. Very choppy. Refresh rate not good. Really disappointed.

My favorite setup is to keep my downloaded movies on my AppleTV (first generation) and connect via samba to stream them to my iPad when I am in another room. The choice to play immediately (stream) or copy gives me the added choice of storing the movie on my iPad if I am leaving the house.

This is a great media player for the iPad. I was looking for something that would play movies randomly from my other Mac mini over my network. iTunes music does this but unfortunately doesn't play fullscreen. This was the only player that was able to play fullscreen movies on the iPad in a random order with no hiccups or any kind with extra software needed. I use the free version for very long time so I thought what the heck it's worth the money to buy the full version good job guys

Good app, missing some basic features. Good:Plays most movies types. Easy to browse home network and media server. Bad: no marker to pickup movies where you've stopped. Always starts back at the beginning... also, if you put it on hold, starts back at the beginning... If you dont kill the app before closing, will run in the background until ipad is dead.

Problème avec Apple TV. J’ai acheté cette application il y a plusieurs années et je l’aime beaucoup. Cependant depuis quelque temps, je n’arrive plus à lire mes vidéos de mon IPad sur mon Apple TV en continue. Quand j’essaie de changer de vidéos la connexion AirPlay ne fonctionne plus et la vidéo joue sur le IPad. Est-ce un problème de configuration à mon niveau ou est-ce un problème avec l’application? Movie and Music Problem on OPlayer HD. The problem with playing music is that each time I switch from OPlayer HD to another application, the music pause for about 1 second. OPlayer for IOS does not have this problem. It become annoying when I select a new song every time. Also all my video in h264 when play in Oplayer HD have a stutter. The stutter is small but is perceptible. VLC does not have this problem. I bought all the video and sound codec in OPlayer HD, it does not fix this problem. For this reason I give a one star review. I give a five star if these two problem is fixed and a three star if one of the problem is fixed.

Lecture fichiers vidéo AVI. Bonne application, je peux lire la plupart de mes fichiers vidéos à l’exception des fichiers AVI entrelacés dont l’image est dédoublée et de couleur verte. Pourtant j’ai acheté la version complète avec toutes les options. Prendre note que les développeurs ont déjà communiqué avec moi afin de solutionner le problème. Ça démontre que l’entreprise est soucieuse du bon fonctionnement du programme. La dernière version n’a toujours pas corrigé le problème mais je demeure confiant.

Does exactly what I wanted.... I got this simply to watch a variety of media files. Some created on my iPad, some recorded on my camera, some made from a compilation of DSLR stills by software on my Windows PC. This plays everything without a single fault. It even picks up my home media player and plays video from there without a hitch. This has been one of, if not the, best app purchases I've made. Excellent value for money, faultless performance.

Good player! But No features update for long. Using this player more than 4years no issues. But missing some additional features like video search function, video thumbnail, Grid view etc. hopefully developers can consider these features in future updates. Thanks

Why Download removed. On the last version the download is removed. Why ? I’ve downloaded the free version to be able to heave my video, when I am roaming. It’s crazy !

disappointing. After the last two updates it either doesn’t start to play the WMA files or it plays part followed by freezing or crashing. This is very annoying. It wasn’t perfect, but at least before it didn’t stop partway through listening to something

Best App!!!. This app can play mp4’s and can skip them. Not too many players do that in the app store but this one does. It has airplay built in. No ads on the paid version. Can connect to iTunes library. Best app for playing mp3’s and mp4’s by far!...a suggestion for this app, it should be able to go into picture in picture while looking at the list of videos.

About time.... So after years of not being able to watch .avi and .mkv on iOS, all of a sudden it's a piece of cake? This works perfectly, what took Apple so long? They couldn't be bothered to do it themselves, they made us reformat every stupid video file we wanted to put on an iOS device, and now these developers give us a simple, easy converter for 5 bucks? I would pay $50 if I never would have had to reformat files just to watch them on my iPhone or iPad. No more reformatting for $5? A bargain.

Outstanding!. Guys and gals, this app really does work. All you have to do to make most of your avi files work properly is to go into the Settings of the app and make sure that Skip Frame is set to OFF. In this case, there will be no stuttering and jumping. My avi files play smoothly - just like on my computer. Also, it is great that you can download avi files straight from the web from inside the app or copy them from computer via iTunes. I am now saying goodbye to Air Video which never worked great for me. Take my review seriously -- look at my other reviews and take a note that I rate apps fairly. UPDATE: You guys who are giving this app bad reviews are acting as if there are many apps that compete in this field. The fact that this is the ONLY app in the whole store that can excellently play the preferred internet conversion file which is .avi should NOT be underestimated. Please be realistic in your reviews so that others know exactly what this app does.

Good app, could be better. The one thing this app is missing, and the one thing that would put this far ahead of all other iPad video players is an A-B repeat function. If it had an A-B repeat function, OPlayer would be hands down the best video player app. I do love the fact that you could use a finger swipe to FF/REW the video files, now give us A-B repeat please. Edit: after they fixed the green screen issue I changed my review to 3 stars. But there are still a couple things the makers could do to make this the go to app for video files (a-b repeat please!!!!!)

Best UI + Features. A while back I tried all the players. Oplayer was the clear winner. I'm happy to install this on my family members' iPads. 1) The UI on other players ranges from horrifying to functional. Oplayer is only one with a sleek, professional design. 2) As far as file compatibility, all players seem to play 90% of my strange files just fine and struggled with the occasional file. 3) Features: a) SMB, FTP, WIFI transfer. I took a few moments to setup SMB sharing, and I stream my videos from my computer to my ipad. If I need to transfer them to the ipads memory, the UI makes it easy b) Toggle between multiple audio streams and multiple subtitle streams in a mkv file (or with .srt files). This makes it the VLC of iOS for me. c) Other nice stuff like aspect ratio fix Here are few things I'd like to see in future versions: 1) Increase subtitle size. Right now it's very small. 2) Better skip controls. There's swipe left/right gesture (that can't be inverted) that skips a predetermined amount. 3) Ignore non-video files in the file browser. 4) Adjustable playback speed.

Excellent, Perfect for MKV files.. This is the app I'm looking for, I have more than a 100 videos in MKV format, the app is perfect for me. Tried almost all the top rated media players, nothing played my compressed MKV files, This is the one. Only problem was, I was unable move to a time frame using the bar and some part of the videos have glitches, hope it will be resolved in future updates. Thank u!

Great player, needs a little more for five stars. So far this player has played back every file I have thrown at it which is great enough just for four stars. Only drawbacks are for one it doesn't always remember a clip I played. It will keep playback position of some clips but others it shows no progress on them as if I hadn't played them. This is usually just for my current clip and doesn't seem to. Have any bearing on file or codec type, seems to be more with how you exit the app. Also it could stand to use some better in-app organizing as that is a pain. Otherwise no complaints, it has great playback capabilities, normal transport controls and a few other features but I have no use for them.

I AM IN LOVE. I used to use PlayerExtreme but they completely failed by removing previously paid features after updating the app. I had used OPlayer in the past but it was having network issues (purchased version). Its been a long time so I re-installed in on my ipadmini 2 and WOW what a difference! It playes all the videos PlayerExtreme cant! Its faster - more feature rich for the tech-savvy, and hands down just better! I am so impressed I went ahead and paid the extra and unlocked all features to make it complete with the DTS and divx. Im just amazed these guys have done such an amazing job since its original release... Great job!

Good but needs a little work to be great. First this is a great player and well worth the price. It plays most any video format I've tried and either streams them directly or downloads them. It also is great that you can transfer the files through iTunes file transfer. A few gripes I have and hopefully will be addressed in an update soon are.. Every once in a while it will crash. This is annoying because you have to go through the whole process of browsing back to the file through the built in web browser if you were streaming. Another big issue is when I pause and resume the player becomes glitchy. It will play but the sound won't be there, or it will start skipping etc. Adding tabs to the browser would be great too. I would like to see the browser resemble safari more, right now it is a little bare bones and could use an upgrade. Other than that I love this app and would give it 5 stars if those slight changes were made

Pretty Solid. This app plays more formats than just about any other player I've tried. It seems to play as many formats as the VLC app, yet crashes less often. I also enjoy the fact that it auto-finds available SMB and other file servers on your network, so you don't have to enter a long URL. It also lets you mark movies for download to your device for offline viewing and offers password protection to keep others from seeing your videos. My only wish is that it could play a few more formats and that it could also view JPEG/GIF/PNG.

This app sets a standard to be follwed. I applaud the clarity with which the developers understood for what reason this app should be made. It diverges slightly from the apple's clean and simple, minimalistic approach, but in no way is it complicated or giddy with buttons and obscure options. It is quick to access and flipping through videos in easy-to-organize lists (in my case tutorials) is fast and effortless. Thumbs up! One wish: please iplement a jog function. It would be of great help if it could be posible to quickly ff or roll back a few seconds when reviewing tutorials.

syncing issues. i have used app for years--on ipad pro 12.9 i'm getting sync issues in audio with video. the developer's website is out-dated so i couldnt trouble-shoot.

A good app!. I have been looking for an app to play .avi files without first having to convert them to mp4. This is the first app that I have found that can do the job. Don't underestimate the challenge - I imagine that the app has to do the conversion on the fly in software without any hardware acceleration - this is hard to do given the limited cpu and ram. Given this challenge, this app does an admirable job. it is not perfect (yet!), but it is a good first pass. The developer seems to be updating the app, fixing bugs, and adding features. If you want to be able to play a wide range of video formats on your ipad, then it is worthwhile spending the $5 to support this app and its developer.

Great app great since the start!. Always plays everything I need it to without issue! Even when most other apps fail! The only thing I don't like is the paid addon of the photo viewer. Seems like that is such a small feature it could just be made free. Who's gonna spend $1 getting that when they can just open the same file in a different more capable, and possibly free app? That's my opinion anyways .

Great app. This is a great app for those who have a lot of their own media. It allows you to stream from a NAS unit or download the files to your ipad, perfect for flights etc. It is missing a couple codecs, so anything encoded with AC3 audio will be a silent movie. These days most people are not using this codec anyway so it has not been a big deal to me. I did have to re encode some of my old footage though. I think it's worth the money just being able to play videos without getting iTunes involved.

Plays pretty much anything; network streaming w/o DLNA. This app plays pretty much any common video format you throw at it. It's quite useful for streaming video from a network server. I use it to play videos off of a drive attached to my router. One nice thing about this app is that it doesn't require the server to be uPnP / DLNa. it You can stream straight through the remote computer's file system. Overall, the app is stable, though I experienced a few situations where it would seem to get stuck while loading To be honest, I'm not sure if it was the app, or my network connection, but I have not run into this kind of problem before with other video apps, so I'm inclined to think that it was the app. Other than the ability to play a wide variety of file formats, and the ability to stream video over a network via samba, the app does not have other major features other than a simple playlist. It would have been nice if the app came with more sophisticated video database management (other than a playlist). Perhaps this is a feature that we could see in a later release.

It's a little overpriced, but useful. The price tag for OPlayer was a little high, especially since I couldn't use the same version in HD on both iPhone and iPad. I gave it a favorable rating, however, because it's extremely useful if you like to watch movies that were not purchased from iTunes. It also keeps getting better with updates (except for the most recent one, which actually removed codecs! Don't install that!) In regards to that recent "update," at least the dev gave fair warning that it would remove codecs, so as long as you'd read the "what's new" section, you'd have known not to install it.

A very powerful video player. It can play all sorts of common video formats including MP4, RMVB, FLV, MKV, and you can control your playback easily by swipe left/ right to go back/forward. The length of time it jumps depends how much distance you swipe!! You can also control volume or brightness by swipe up/ down in left/right part of the screen. Very handy! Besides, it can play videos from your computer if your iPad is in the same wireless network as your computer is.

Much better than the reviews would lead you to believe. After reading so many negative reviews, I feel compelled to write one that is more balanced. While it's true that the app is not perfect, in my experience it does a terrific job of handling the average .avi/.divX file. I have used it pretty extensively, and while it's not as smooth as my Mac or NMT, it looks quite acceptable and is great for watching those formats on the go when you don't have an internet signal to stream video or the time to do a full conversion. I've tried all the competing players, and this one wins hands down.

Nice Program. Program works well enough. There are a couple of reasons I didn't rate it a five...1) when you pause a movie and come back to it at a later time, you have to navigate back through the folders in order to return to the movie. It would be convenient for the developers to provide a "hold point" so you didn't have to re-navigate back through the folders again. 2) audio functionality could use improvement. There are issues with DTS audio from movies restricting its use...just fix it. Other than the aforementioned items, the program works well. Fix the AC3 and DTS issues an this would be a much better product. The programmers claim there will be a fix soon...define soon...pitiful.

Not ready for prime time. SEE ADDED NOTE BELOW: Trying to download .wmv files directly using the provided interface gives erratic results and sometimes crashes the app. The files I tried play sound first, then video, or no sound at all. I purchased this app specifically to be able to play .wmv files on my iPad when I encounter them linked in a web page, so as not to have to switch to a desktop computer. It fails. Attempts to engage the authors have been unproductive. There seems to be a serious language barrier, at the least. When I attempted to provide them a link to a sample file for them to test against, it was received with "maybe their government was blocking it." I consider this app a waste of money. Hopefully someone else will come out with an adequate solution for playing these files on the iPad. ADDED NOTE: changing the skip and/or loop settings has no effect for me. The audio still plays first, followed by the video, followed by a crash to desktop. Sorry, this app is garbage.

Crippled by lack of local storage. Loved this app...till they removed the ability to download files and store them locally! That was the only reason I bought the app! Holy crap I'm so frustrated. I have to get on a plane with my son and I can't download his movies. Please tell the world why the hell you removed this feature!

Promising. Enjoyed this app on my ipad1 for a long time. Bought in years ago. Ipad1 didn't have enough proc power to handle higher quality HD. It was sufficient for most things. Recently purchased a new ipad4 and was disappointed to find that although this app looks great, video is much improved, but the audio is now a no go on everything but mp2-4 and avi files. MKV, VOB, & wtv files do not have audio. Their website has not been useful. But I am hopeful. Overall I am not disappointed with the purchase because it worked for a long time, but now it may be time to move on.

Plz fix accelerate playing. It lose sounds when I play the video with 1.54x up

Oplayer HD. Take your $4.99 and set it on fire, throw it out the window, etc. You will benefit more from it than from buying this app. I thought this was going to be the answer to having to convert video files and also being able to watch actual HD and how sorely wrong I was. I loaded an mkv file that the player not only played slow but also with out of sync audio! At first I thought it may have been the file so I tried it out on my computer with no problems. So I loaded an avi to find the same problem stuttering/slow video with out of sync audio. Fortunately I had converted and put the video file in my videos and played with no problem. What this app proposes is a dream what it delivers is absolute CRAP! I can only hope that the developers are paying attention and optimize this app so that it actually functions as advertised. Do not waste your money here!

Fairly good all-rounder. Pros: User friendly control, convenient quick pause area (rather than tapping once to view controls and them tap on pause button) gestures for << and >>. Saves position of paused video, even between launches. Subtitles. Streams over LAN. Decodes most videos formats beautifully. Has occasional problems with synching audio in mkv files (keep reloading the video until audio syncs). Parallel downloads from servers. May also run as a file server to push video onto. Different sort orders in file listing. Cons: Known ac3 licensing problem with any player. Dolby too greedy. Use Handbrake on desktop to replace ac3 with some other encoding. Dark skin is great for low light viewing conditions, but the file listing interface have buttons with too low contrast, especially when device brightness is already at the lowest. Unable to save default path for server. Have to navigate through file tree at every connection, even when switching rapidly between the file server view and document view. Playlist functions need improvement, eg, adding to playlist needs a lot of taps.

Oplayer. Very gooog

Thanks Apple - OPLAYER is a must have app you could have banned!. That open with feature means it is compatible with things like the DropBox app. You download using your favorite file management application DropBox, GoodReader, Readdle , Go Arua etc.), select OPEN WITH and pick OPLAYER from the list. The only apps that work with this feature register the files they can open with iOS4. Even if they can handle the files some iPad programmers do not register with iOS and their program is only half useful from other apps. This is a new app and I expect any rough edges to be policshed in time but for a first time out of the box it is a WINNER. This is another one of the few iPad applications that I can unreservedly highly recommend. Skip a couple of beers and download OPlayer immediately! BTW I have cineXPlayer and IMHO OPlayer is a far bigger bang for your BUCK!

Needs more options. The app is one of the best player for iPad. Works great and this is the only app that let me stream media directly out of my home Windows 7 PC over the wifi without any problems. The app plays the most of the media format out there, however I am giving only 3 stars here so that the developers would look closer and add bigger buttons and picture options such as contrast and brightness. Most of the movies look darker than usual even when the ipad's brightness setting is set to max. And sometimes it takes a lot of effort to control functions such as pause and play, forward and options. Overall very satisfied but would like some features to be added in the future.

Can’t connect to Dropbox. The Dropbox login screen slides to the left several times, then freezes as a blank box. Please fix this.

One word. Phenomenal.. What people don't realize when getting an iPad is that Apple has severely limited the types of video formats that can play on it. Not watching a QuickTime file? You are going to have problems. OPlayer HD has solved this issue tremendously well. Not only can I play many formats, I can loop videos for trades how kiosks, I can upload content via Dropbox or something else, etc. Thank you for solving one major problem that has plagued the iPad.

Great update using iPad 3. I was worried when there were remarks that the update had it's bugs. But after testing it on two x264 formatted videos, one as a .mkv and one as a .mp4 I was pleasantly surprised that both looked very sharp. Especially the .mp4 video due to in the previous version it was working with a frame rate skip. But in this version there is now a thunder bold on the options bar that when enabled corrects that issue. The issue still remains to avoid AC3 files because Dolby Digital wants more money for its codec. But it seems may programs and files distributed have stopped converting in the AC3 formats. I am very pleased with what the developers have done. And how well they have worked in the limitations of the hardware on iPads and software limitations. Remember that it utilizes the CPU on the ipad so if you are using an ipad 2 or ipad 1 you will have major stuttering with some formats. I imagine .avi Keep up the good work,

Great app, but 720p/25fps playback has video/audio sync issues. This app plays HD mkv files like no other iPad app I've tried...and I've tried several. I have, however, found one problem: when playing a 720p/25fps file (d'loaded from UK), the video seems to play at about 75% speed while the audio plays in real time. Hopefully, this can be addressed in a future release. All other file formats from UK have played fine. Still, for those looking for one-stop shopping, this is it!

Latest update is great. I bought the app on the previous load. It was amazing on AVI files but super choppy for rmvb. A ton of my content is on rmvb so i emailed the devs. Dont know if it was already in the plan but they emailed me right back saying RMVB support will be added to next release. Less than a month later, out came 2.0.02. RMVB playback improved 1000x. There is no longer any choppiness. Very fast response from the dev team. I am a very happy customer !

More Convenient Than iTunes. I enjoy the ability to store my movies outside of iTunes and not have to rely on syncing to keep things on my iPad. It's also fantastic to be able to download a video from the Internet and have it available on your iPad without using iTunes. It's nice that it allows you to use the built-in QuickTime decoder. My only request at this point is; it would be nice to have cover art for MP4/M4V files. But it's definitely not a deal-breaker. Great app!

Has not worked since I bought it...... I have inconsistent, never complete, results when displaying a directory on my boot drive using SMB. The USB outboard drive and the thumb drive directory browse using SMB works fine. This has been happening since installing Windows 10. I have complained before but given the idea that it would be fixed in a later release. Sometimes I get network error and sometimes I get two files listed and other times 10 files listed. It varies. I have changed the names to one character and still the directory listing is inconsistent. I have spent days literally thinking I have done something incorrect and attempting other things. It must be something to do with port 139 because other apps with 445 work consistently on the same directory. I like this app because it plays H.265 files. It is useless if I cannot see the directory. Is there a simple fix in windows 10 that will solve this problem or is it an app problem? Any help would be appreciated?

About the update. The app is great. It plays about anything !!! About the dumb people complaining about the update that killed the sound. PLEASE READ what the updates are about before upgrading. Most of you might be the king of people that click anything that pops up on your screen WITHOUT reading. I didn't update and I still watching my videos flawlessly :-)) Hope the patent issue will be solved soon by the developers so these poor DUMB souls out there can continue using it.
