Two things I dislike. The first thing is there are way too many ads. Ok so I get you have to have ads to have a free app, but can’t you make it so if I was at a part after an ad I don’t have to go through all the ads. I mean every 6-12 minutes there is a series of 6 ads and not even different ones. Usually they are almost exactly the same as the last series of ads I watched. It’s soooo annoying. Second thing is that they app only has the last 5 episodes of the tv series. So if I want to watch a new series that has 10 episodes I have to find the first 5 episodes on other apps or websites and it’s quite annoying. I usually end up using other apps/websites instead of this one for these reasons. I know you can’t get rid of all ads and maybe you can’t even make every episode of a show available but it would be nice to not have sooo many ads and at least AT LEAST the 10 latest episodes of a tv series. I suggest to only use this app if you have patience for ads and you are on the lasted 5 episodes of a show. So honestly only download this if you don’t have another app that has your favorite shows.

Horribly bad orientation controls. This app is incomprehensibly bad, at least as far as how it displays when holding the iPad in different orientations. For starters, when you open the app, it only supports portrait orientation, with the home button at the bottom. Now let’s be clear about something. We are watching a video, the only way to watch it is in landscape orientation. And that is exactly how the videos will play, but before you can watch them, you have to browse the selection screen with iPad held upright in portrait orientation. That is incomprehensibly ridiculous. Why wouldn’t you want to browse the listings in the same orientation as you are going to watch them in? As it is, the iPad is often easier to hold in landscape orientation. And it’s not like there isn’t an existing CW app that is used exclusively in landscape orientation. Hello Apple TV! But this gets better. Sometimes I have to have my iPad in landscape orientation with the home button on the left side, so I can have it plugged in while I’m watching something. And while the actual videos “can” play oriented correctly regardless of which side is up, when you pause a video, it will resume upside down if your iPad is held (or on a stand in my case) with the home button is on the left. And of course, when you exit a video, the home screen for the app is sideways. You would think the developers of The CW app have not actually used it themselves. It’s just that incomprehensibly absurd in the way it works.

Doing great! Please add a sign in :). So I absolutely love this app because I watch almost every show on the CW. It has come to my attention just recently that if/when I change devices, where I left off is not saved. That is because I do not need to log in. I use to think not logging in was great but as a single mom moving from mobile phone to different TV’s through out the house. I’m now forced to watch my show on one device at a time but I still forget where I left off. I think it would be best to add a sign in and once we log in we are forever logged in until we log ourself out. I think ppl will love the app much better being able to watch on multiple screens without having to watch half the or all over because you don’t recall where you left all. Other then that, have been using this app since Jane the Virgin started 😊

Can somebody please fix the bugs. I know it’s a common problem with this app for it to freeze when it goes from commercials back to the show, but I’ve been on the same episode for an hour an a half and I’m only halfway through. The commercial ends, it freezes, I exit, click play and then click continue and it starts me right back at the beginning of the same commercial section that I just watched, so now I’ve watched about 10 commercials, and then it freezes again, and I have to repeat it. I’ve tried it and watched the same exact commercial section at least 10 times now and it will not play the show. I can’t even try to drag the dot at the bottom to make it work after the ad bc as soon as I touch the screen all the controls disappear. it’s a nice idea for an app but it’s barely even functional and I’m about to throw my phone across the room. a company this big should be able to make 1 small app at least work somewhat correctly...

Supergirl&Legends Of Tomorrow. Well it was going well until they changed the time slots. I don’t know what they are thinking... Why would you have Supergirl come back on in a month to go on a 9 week break after only being back for 4 weeks🤔 confusing right? Tell me about it. If you didn’t have Black Lightning steak Legends slot it would all me fine... and don’t even say that this isn’t Black Lightnings’ fault. I was going to watch the show but now the CW is just making me dislike all its shows. Wouldn’t be surprised if they screwed up every show they had, at least we would all be in the same boat right? Also I would’ve left a comment on the CW App but there is no where to write all the questions I have. What are you guys thinking? Supergirl is going to go down already after the James and Lena kiss and now you are doing this... ya fans deserve better. While you’re at it, promote the 100. Literally it’s going to be airing soon and i’ve seen no promotions... thanks and bye

A Great Start. From a video playing standpoint, this app works great. Perfect quality with no buffering in sight. The problem is in the interface itself. When you start the app, it’s only in portrait mode, yet when you start a video it goes landscape. Why not just have everything in landscape? Once the video begins playing, you’ll have all the information across the top of the screen stay visible the whole time. It seems like a small thing but it’s insanely distracting. I’d suggest following the path of all the other video apps and have only the video be on screen. It also doesn’t help with the battery usage while watching something. I tend to average a loss of at least 20% with each video. Good luck binging something. There’s a lot of potential to be one of the best video apps, and a truly free one at that.

STARTUP SCREEN PORTRAIT MODE ONLY, WHY!!!. What reason could there possible be for the CW app to startup in portrait mode only and then move into landscape mode only after show selection? CW your slogan is “Dare to Defy” that shouldn’t be to defy your audience wishes for a common sense app orientation setting customized by the user!. And another issue “Too Manny Commercials” enough is enough !!! When paid cable was introduced into the broadcast marketplace, we had the option of fast forward and there was finally a solution for the viewer to take control their programming. When paid satellite was introduced into the broadcast marketplace, again the viewer had control over their programming and annoying commercials could be a choice. Now, streaming is introduced and suddenly not only have you taken away freedom of choice “a service that should be available for a paid viewer” but we are forced to watch the same commercials over and over and over again. Two steps forward, three steps back.

Amazing but... I love this app. I love the schedules and things like that. But it could be better. I normally like to watch The Flash on tv in the mornings. But, it always says I have to check my connection, even after I do it’s still not work. (Basically I can watch in the mornings). Secondly when you have to stop watching an episode and continue later, it only saves the spot you were at 50% of the time. Third of all, there are WAY to many adds. I was watching with my friends and that’s their complaint. Also you sadly can’t exit the app without it not saving while playing adds. I appreciate you getting this far to my horrible review. And I’m sorry for making it all about the complaints. But other than that that’s really all I have for you. This app is AMAZING and I don’t want to make you think it’s bad. But like every app there are some bugs.

Great App. This app is great. I don’t really have time to watch my shows on The CW, always working. So I come to this free app to watch all my CW shows. I’ve been watch channel 56 all my life, since the mid 80,s. And it is my favorite channel. It used to have all the good cartoons in the early times for kids and in the evening times, the dramas. Gilmore Girls, Smallville, Dawson’s Creek, Buffy, Angel, Supernatural, Fresh Prince, Tiny Toons, Anamaniacs, VR Troopers, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Marvels Shield, Constantine, Charmed (old version), and so, so much more. I recently had the playback error and it made me stop watching for a bit, but I did write to the CW Support team and after a couple of days they fixed the problem. Haven’t been on to check to see if it works yet but I am confident that the problem has been solved. Many other apps would have you jump through hoops just to fix some problems and sometimes they never get fixed at all. But CW, in a timely manner, they went ahead and listened to the people who downloaded this fine app and fixed the problem. In conclusion, The CW app will always be my #1 app, my go to app, the best. To The CW Team, great work and keep it up. Not many support teams are great like you. I do appreciate all that you do. I don’t usually write review that much but I will express my love for The CW any way that I can. Thank You, X

Insanely long commercials!!. I’ve used it before and never had this problem. I really hope this isn’t a new thing. Literally stuck in a 5+ minute commercial. The same commercial has even played back to back!! I love the show but this is insane. I might as well try to catch the episodes live, it wouldn’t take this long and I could actually enjoy the show. It’d be more convenient fitting the actual first airing than watching on the app. It was stupid to exit because now I get another 5+ minute commercial, pretty sure it’s been 10 minutes. So frustrating I don’t even remember what just happened in the show. At this rate I’m going to have more time in commercial than the actual 45 minute show. This is insane!! Someone really needs to fix this. Luckily there’s only one more episode to the season or I would just wait until it’s on hbomax. That app definitely doesn’t have this problem. Must be a better managed app.

I ame using translation writre i hete it so but nugets. I just got to the point in my head and now my mom was a day and a half ago and it was a great night and a lot of fun and a couple of days of my birthday and a few years and. And a total waste to my phone to a friend of a computer a good thing and it is so good to me it was so nice and a big. And a bunch to do and all of my work to be a part to do my hair so my dad and my sister are going out and about my car so my parents and my mom is a,beautiful one so I bought my mom and my kids so my baby was my first so I had my daughter so my sister was born so badly so because before but by being back but by back but she is my own and I do it for my mom is.

Awesome way to watch but still things to work on. I love this app I’m fact I use it almost every day to watch riverdale. I absolutely HATE all the ads. There is really no point for them. It gets kind of irritating when your just getting into it and boom there’s and ad and Ik your probably like it’s just like tv but I’m not here to watch tv if not for my friends wanting me to watch this so much I wouldn’t even be using this app and I would wait for it to come out on Netflix. Just saying if you took off all of the ads I feel like your app would get a lot more use. And then something else that makes me mad is when you get tired of watching and you leave the app and then come back later and it gives you the resume option is sometimes doesn’t go back to the right spot and then it’s super irritating because it’s super hard to get back to the right spot. That’s all folks😋

Can you fix the glitch. This app is amazing because it offers free streaming on most of the shows I love to watch and its free and everything which most of the streaming apps these days but the only problem which is a mayor problem for me is that it glitches a lot and also it always stops in the middle of the episode to say that “the playback has stalled out” I don't know what it means and i cant watch not even 10 seconds straight before it pauses and says the thing about the playback thingy and it really annoys me because it stops soo much and it suddenly shuts down and leaves the app. I don't know if its mu wifi witch is really slow or that i use a vpn ti watch since I live outside the states but can you please fix it. Its so cool you stream for free on the app but if the app doesn’t work on its fullest how am i supposed to watch it and enjoy the episode im watching

Apple TV bug. I don’t know which version the bug occurred, but there is an option to skip the credits and roll into the next episode, as watching several in consecutive order, and it seems the audio track continues to play, while the video bumps to the next episode. Once the previous episode ends the track, the next episode begins, along with the audio track for the new episode, so ends up with a fairly garbled track, although there are two distinct tracks playing on top of the other. Otherwise, as we have a busy life, this is a great alternative to watching my DC shows live-play, as I can catch the last few weeks’ worth, as time allows. This occurred a couple of months ago, and was just figured out to be what the issue is that is occurring. I have not, as yet, tried to reinstall the app, but it has been occurring on both of our Apple TV modules, so not sure if it was a glitch that just hadn’t gotten bumped out by a bug fix or if it’s just never been noticed by anyone else.

This App is Great!. I REALLY love this app. I use it to watch Riverdale and other of my fav shows! I like it because you can change your setting to what u want. For example you can make it so the app will send you a notification every time the show you request to get notified airs! There are so many shows on there so there is a lot of variety! I Think that this app is great if you don’t have Netflix or if you don’t use cable. You can also connect it to your tv if you don’t have cable and watch your shows from there. And the best part is...it’s totally free! There is no payment needed and that what I was most concerned about when I was getting this app. Bit that wasn’t the case at all! If your thinking about getting this app or any app that your want to watch a specific show on, I DEFINITELY recommend this!

Recent Update Ruined App. There are several shows on The CW I like to follow (Arrow, Flash, 100). I recently learned a another CW show that I’m really enjoying, Penn & Teller’s Fool Us. It’s a great show. I found that the App has Season 2-5 available. Problem is, the new App layout starts you on the most recently aired episode and to go back to older episodes you have to scroll to the right one episode at a time until you reach the one you want. Then after watching the episode, 80% of the time it does not take you to the next episode but requires you to choose the show from the home menu and then scroll through the episodes again. The old layout made it much easier to get to older episodes. A drop down menu fit selecting episodes would be great and having a more consistent “Up Next” episode after the one you watch finishes is desperately needed. Finally the Continue menu to continue episodes had many episode listed that I’ve already completed and I can not remove episodes from the list.

Remove censorship bleeping. I literally just started using the app 10 minutes ago. There’s a new series called Dead Pixels that I recorded on DirecTV but that version bleeps out cussing. I was really hoping that this app wouldn’t or at least provide a setting that would allow me to toggle it. No luck that I can see. I’m giving the app the benefit of the doubt by starting at 5 stars and removing 1 for the above issue. I’ve heard there are too many commercials. Like I said, I just started so I don’t have an opinion yet. While I completely understand the need for them (especially for a free app), the frequency and quantity of them should be reasonable or I’ll lower the stars further. IMHO a viewer that doesn’t have to pay to watch should have to endure commercials but no more than 10 min for every 30 min of entertainment content. You spread it out how you see fit but more than 5 commercials in a break is way too much.

Amazing only 1 problem. This app is perfect and I love it. I’ve used this app for a year or so and I’m in love. I used this app so I can watch the episodes of my favorite shows and I didn’t believe it but it’s amazing. This app has the 5 latest episodes in case your a little behind and you don’t have to wait almost a year for them to come out on Netflix. My only problem is that there is so many ads. Every almost 10 minutes there’s about 5-6 ads which adds up to an extra 10 minutes to the show your watching and it gets boring and there should be only 1-3 ads but other than that this app is perfect and I use it every day on my phone and tv. Needs settings. Overall I like the app. I get that contracts limit to the last 5 episodes, though in the modern age of episodic TV having fall finales I wish they would release the early season episodes to streaming services in smaller chunks to let us get caught up and finish the show on the app. However my first complaint / reason for a drop of a star is that unlike other streaming apps, this one maintains the main iOS screen saver settings. When I use my phone normally I want it to lock automatically after a short period of me not touching it ... but if I’m watching an hour long show casted to my TV I don’t want to touch my phone for an hour, and definitely not every 2 minutes. Also, either the setting to go from one episode to the next doesn’t exist or it isn’t obvious / intuitive. Other streaming apps auto-forward too quickly (I sometimes like the music and some movies have post-credit scenes), but to not have the option to skip to next or automatically advance at the end also seems outdated. Other streaming video apps have these issues figured out, more or less, and they seem tome to be things that need to be priorities.

The update is unusable. This update makes absolutely zero sense. Previously, you could select a “schedule” or “shows” tab, click on a show, see a list of all of the available episodes, and see your watch history. You could click into a summary about the show and info about when episodes air. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it had the common sense features you’d expect on a streaming app. Now, you can only select the shows from the home page, there is no option to show a summary of the show itself, and you have to scroll through each individual episode. So, instead of a list of episodes that tracks whether you’ve watched it, you have to scroll through one episode at a time and try to figure out from a vague one sentence summary if you watched that episode already. Even if the app stayed exactly how it was before this “update” with zero extra features, it would be a massive improvement to go back to the previous version.

Resume episode option. I love several shows on the CW but hate the app! You used to be able to press an episode then it would ask if you want to resume or start from the beginning but now there is a continue section which doesn’t work properly or updates. So you have to start an episode from the beginning to find your spot and of course you have to watch all the commercials again. Also there’s no pause option during commercials so if streaming is interrupted you have to restart the app or I made the mistake of disconnecting my Bluetooth during commercials which paused the commercial and I had no way of restarting it except to exit the app, But of course my spot in the episode wasn’t saved so I had to start the episode all over again! I’m seriously considering not watching my favorite shows and just waiting until the whole season comes out on Netflix.

App Update is Inconvenient. I’m rating the functionality of the app, which in my opinion is inconvenient and a downgrade. I prefer the app before they fixed it. My main issue is the inability to have it function in horizontal mode (except when actually watching the episode). I, and I know many others, watch this on their iPad therefore it makes it super difficult and inconvenient to scroll and see what you want to watch without having to constantly flip your iPad. I also don’t like the layout under each show. It makes finding episodes hard especially the most recent ones that you haven’t watched. It doesn’t even give me a function to see if I’ve watched that episode or not. I also don’t like that I’ve got to hunt for the trailer for the next episode either. I liked when I could see everything on one horizontal page. Overall, the app has made a huge downgrade in its improvements and the CW should be thankful that I love their shows to put up with such a crappy app.

Missing episodes. I came to this app because The CW isn’t streaming the previous episodes of season 4 of Riverdale on tv, so I watched episode one of season 4 but since they don’t have a lot of the episodes I had to search the web for episode 2 and I couldn’t find it anywhere for free so now I have to wait for it to come onto Netflix and since I live in the US I probably won’t be able to watch it for a while. Also there are a ton of ads, I get that you have to have ads in order to have a free app but seriously six ads every 10-20 minutes that’s pretty unfair. I really just want to watch my favorite show but since The CW isn’t showing the previous episodes of Riverdale and it won’t come to Netflix for a while AND this app is missing episodes I only got to watch episode one of season 4 and now I get to wait for it to come onto the US Netflix. Overall I feel they should include all the episodes of the series on the app and add the next one when it comes onto The CW on tv and that they should lower the amount of ads.

Too many constant glitches. I enjoy being able to watch my favorite shows even without having Cable TV but it’s truly a pain when I constantly have to exit and enter the app in order for an episode to continue playing because in the transition from ads to episode it just completely freezes. Sometimes there’s discombobulated audio in the background and sometimes even when the visual seems to be working (including not in transition from as to show) the audio just cuts out randomly- with or without headphones. Whenever I stop watching something and go back to the app later, it starts me way earlier in the episode than I was and I have to watch a bunch of ads (that I already watched) in order to get to where I was. I understand that commercials are like TV- but if you’re going to have commercials like TV please have them transition smoothly into the rest of the show. Sometimes my play and skip buttons won’t work at all and I’ll have to completely exit the app and start the episode all over. This app could be great but it just malfunctions constantly.

Got me pressed. If I could rate it 0 stars I would, but it doesn’t exactly let me. So, I’ve been wanting to watch the second season of Riverdale for a while and I was told to download this app, and I was like okay cool lemme try. Turns out this app thinks it’s common sense to have episode one, but not the second, third, fourth, or fifth. Seriously, that’s so dumb. I mean, if you’re not going to have the next four episodes available, why even provide the first episode? I may be overreacting right about now but I don’t care at this point because what type of app just does that? I got some stuff spoiled to me and I was so confused just to find out that I went from the first episode to the sixth episode. I just suggest that if you don’t want to include the first five episodes, maybe you shouldn’t include the first one because that’s like leading someone on in a relationship and then just dropping them after making them think that you like them for a year.

Bugs NEED to be fixed. •I downloaded the app like a few months ago and it was GREAT, now whenever you watch a tv show and adds are going on you can’t even pause the show so you can take a break, you have to sit through the adds and then pause it when the show comes back on because if you close out of the app while commercials are going on you can’t resume where you ended you would have to start the show all over again. •Another thing that is bothering me is when you close the app and the continue or restart but comes up it just takes you to the same exact place and when you just try to scroll all the way to the beginning it plays the show for 5 seconds and then says “Error: Playback has stalled out” and it kicks you out and it keeps doing it whenever I try watching a show. •If you want to watch a show without getting interrupted with stupid stuff like this I would NOT recommend this app, but I don’t know if it’s just a bug or what but it’s so annoying.

Why?. So I recently downloaded the app today because my friend (who also loves Riverdale) told me about it. I opened the app and easily figured out how to work it. I would give the app five stars but because of the following reasons I can only give it four. 1: Only latest episodes?! I noticed that Riverdale and all the other shows only have the most recent five episodes. This makes me very upset because I finished season two on Netflix and I don’t have The CW on my tv. I was going to watch the full season three, but there is only episode 5-8. I really wish all of the episodes were there and personally can’t wait until Netflix has the full season three. 2: Only season 3?! Again like the last reason, the options of what episodes to watch is very limited. For someone who is new to The CW shows and doesn’t have it on their tv, I would tell to come to this app but when I noticed this I thought again. I feel a bit bad for giving this app four out of five stars but it is deserved. Netflix is a more reliable source than the channel’s own app. All I am trying to say is that, this app should have ALL the episodes for EACH season of all the shows on here. Could use some improvement. Overall, I enjoy the app. It’s a nice way to catch up on shows when I don’t actually have the CW channel. However, the past few months I’ve been experiencing a really annoying setback when watching episodes. When the episode pauses for commercial, I’m never taken back to the episode once the commercial is over. The screen just freezes and I have to exit out of the app and use the “continue watching” feature to pick up where I left off. Even then, I’m rarely taken back to the same part of the episode where I left off; I either have to rewatch the whole commercial break again and repeat the entire process, or I’m taken 10-15 minutes farther into the episode than where I left off. Makes watching very time consuming, tedious, and just not enjoyable honestly.

Current issues. The app frequents issues with your Ads. Sometimes the Ads will run over the show, and I will miss 5 minute increments at a time because the ads play simultaneously and do not pause and start the show. This is a technical problem, but I also have a problem with the ads themselves. I have no control over the ads I see, and your ads often make me uncomfortable and even am often repulsed, as they deal with many thing completely irrelevant to me or expose me to topics that gross me out. It ruins the interest in your shows and the amount of time I am willing to commit and the more it occurs, the less I feel secure in your app. This can and should be remedied by allowing users to elect content of sponsors, or choose from a list of preselected topics at the very least. I honestly wouldn’t even mind seeing the same previews on repeat, so long as I do not have to see the rest of it at all. This allows you to better improve your demographic information as well, so I don’t see why it isn’t already an option, at the very least when you set up the account.

Fixing the bugs would fix ratings too.. The CW app is the most frustrating things. I don’t mind the ads — I expect them and accept them. But after every ad block, the app freezes up, requiring you to close it down and restart it, re-select your show (and episode) and resume. And if you’re lucky, it will pick up with the next segment of the episode. But 4 times out of 5, it will pick up at the end moment of the prior segment, leading right back into the ad block where it will freeze again. It has taken me two hours at times to watch a single episode of The Flash or Riverdale, because of all the restarts. This problem has persisted in the app for more than a year, and after running it on three separate devices that all exhibited the same problems. More people might watch episodes (and thus boost ratings, which CW needs) if CW would actually make the app functional.

Don’t download you’ll regret it. I used to watch literally almost every current show on this network. Then they canceled them all. All I have left is the last season of Nancy Drew (LOVE this show!!) and then Superman and Lois which is the only show that will continue (at least for now). I absolutely will not watch any new shows they will bring out because they’ll just cancel it anyway. NOW with my only 2 shows to watch they have added waaaaayyyyyy more commercial breaks and made them longer too. To make it even WORSE is these breaks are literally put on while a person is in mid word not when the comercial break is supposed to be. Because like I said they added more breaks so it doesn’t sync up with the break point like it should. They think it’s ok to just cut off when someone is talking and then come back mid word in a sentence. SUPER ANNOYING!!!!!!!!! If this keeps up I’m seriously thinking I’ll just delete the app and give up on even continuing Superman

I like seeing my shows whenever......BUT. I do like having the opportunity to see my shows whenever and wherever I want but I wish the app would be better at keeping track of where I am in a show, for example I watched a episode of arrow and watched almost all the way through then had to do something eles so I stopped and got back to watching it a couple of hours later and the show thought I was only 6 mins in instead of 40 and I had to watch 4 commercial breaks in a row and the exact same commercials I already watched and then there was a time I did the same thing (watched a show stopped and went back to it a couple hours later) and it kept Where I was but when I got to the commercials I watched them and then I was 7 mins behind instead of right after the commercial break I just watched so I had to watch the exact same commercials again that I just watched

still has major issues. Casting is a nightmare but watching from my phone isn’t any better. In fact, it almost is not worth watching because the audio is constantly off from the show. If you somehow manage to fix it, commercials always overlap with the show between each commercial, starting 30 seconds too early and ending 30 seconds too late. Since the newest update, the audio goes out anywhere within a scene, so you are guaranteed to constantly miss chunks of your shows at every chance. Also, unlike other apps this one doesn’t recognize when you’ve already watched a commercial so if you rewind (the only way To fix the awful audio issue) you’ll have to rewatch the whole lineup of commercials from scratch (better since the patch but still happens) and if you switch from your phone to cast to another device, the your show restarts from the beginning. The CW missed the mark here. The smaller channels do a much better job with their apps so there is no excuse for this app to be so horrible.

Barely works, but at least it’s free. It’s wild that such a large wealthy company can have such a crappy app. The constant buffering brings me back to my 2002 dial up internet days. I guess I should be grateful the app doesn't include that screeching dial up noise. Oh, speaking of noise… the commercials are significantly louder than the show, so I have to mute them if I don’t want to play the up-down game every 5 minutes. If I try to leave the volume at a happy medium so the commercials are more bearable, I can barely hear the dialogue of the actual show. But wait, there’s more! The closed captioning is out of synch, sometimes by several minutes, so it’s no help at all in trying to catch what the characters are saying while keeping the volume low enough to avoid being startled by the extremely loud commercials or even the in-show music. Did I mention that the music in the actual show is also super loud? So I’ll have it turned up high so I can hear the dialog, then it cuts to a scene in a nightclub and I have to scramble to grab the remote to turn it back down to a reasonable level, but then the next scene is dialog so I have to turn it back up again. The whole point of watching tv shows is to relax and chill, but trying to watch anything on CW is just exhausting and frustrating. Sigh. At least it’s free.

Bug issue with the app (Open twice to start app). I just wanted to let you guys know. I don’t know how many people are having this issue but my iPad will not open the app the first time. It just freezes on the “blue-green” background for your logo when it starts up. I have to close it and restart the app for it to open. Other than that I love it. (Also in the newest iPad update you took the landscape view away and now it has to be portrait 😭 (which just stinks for picking the show like arrow towards the bottom of the list). Those are my only two complaints. If one of the developers is reading this thank you and please fix the first problem (which is the more important in my opinion).

Worst streaming app in the game. CW won the streaming rights for all of their shows, so I can’t watch Flash or Arrow or Batwoman on any other streaming service except on live Tv, here, or purchasing them outright on iTunes. If you’re going to be the exclusive streaming of shows, make a app that at least works as well as other streaming apps. On the iPad the app doesn’t support landscape mode except when watching content, probably because someone made the decision that this app is mainly for iPhone users. Is there any reason to put so much money behind these shows if we’re only going to watch on the smallest device possible? A lot of the design doesn’t match either. Buttons aren’t aligned, some are 2x larger than other buttons next to it (like the close player button), and the status bar is still visible when watching content. It also doesn’t support picture in picture mode on iPad or other multitasking capabilities.

Technically does the job, but shoddily and amateurishly. It’s all the little things that drag this app down. There’s no way to make it full screen on the newer iPhones, the CC button seems unfunctional half the time, there isn’t a way to pick the quality of the video, you cannot see a timer to tell you how much time is left for the ads, you can only fast forward or rewind in 10 second increments, the overlay with the pause symbol is way too big, the video takes an eternity to load compared to other streaming apps (try to skip forward or backwards and have fun waiting at least those 10 seconds in real time), you cannot view all the episodes at once and pick from them, and the video will sometimes just turn to an all grey screen (fixable only by reloading the video altogether) if it is interrupted in certain ways. While it still technically lets you watch the shows (which is why I go 2 stars instead of 1), it is shoddy and amateurish in how it does that. Quality control must have been nonexistent in the process of developing this app.

It is free but. There’s definitely issues but it’s a free streaming service so we can’t complain that much. Sometimes it’s becomes very blurry , commercials are very long, there’s no resume button so if you stop streaming and then go back you have to remember where you stopped or just rewatch the whole thing. Which is sometimes easier because otherwise you’ll watch like 6 minutes of commercials before you get back to your spot. All that I can deal with. most recently I’ve been having a new problem that’s never occurred before. I stream to my tv thru my chrome cast but now as soon as my phone screen locks, it completely kicks me off. Which is like two minutes. I can’t minimize the app because the same thing happens. I have to reconnect and start all over. Not an issue with the internet or chrome cast because Netflix/Hulu work just fine. This maybe started last week. I like a lot of the shows but trying to keep my phone screen active on the cw app screen for 50 minutes is a lot of effort for no reason really, even for a free app.

Love app but…🥰😒😕. Wish they would have all seasons.. There were shows I would have really liked to watch but they only have season 2 or 4 or 3 or something Not season 1.. Why would anyone want to watch season 2 before season one especially if you’ve Never seen the show? It’s like yay finally found something and something cool Oh wait but they only have season 2 no season one… Oh well back to searching…😒😞 Also it’s so disappointing Finally finding a really cool show to watch and they actually have season one you watch it it was Awesome than finish it to find it’s yet another show to be canceled for a second season left off on a cliffhanger.. Can you plz get more shows in with All seasons ones that weren’t canceled left off on cliffhanger??? Plzzzzzzzzzzzz🥺🙏 Also there were ones that said season 1 under the pic but no way to get to it if it’s there…

Great app but is the expiration really necessary?. I think this app is great when you can’t watch it on TV and it works wonders if you have the time to watch them before they expire. But, if you don’t then you have to wait for them to come out on Netflix and especially with shows that conjoin such as The Flash, The Arrow, DC Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl you can’t watch the episodes in order because they’re gone. Or watch the episodes in general, really. Another thing is that if you miss a period of time because you got busy then you may have watched episodes 1, 2, 3, and 4 but now it’s on 8, 9, and 10 and you can’t go back. I just wish that The episode season expires so that way you could watch them all and not have to worry about a time constraint. I have times where I get so busy that I can’t watch them so I have to just wait for them to come on Netflix which could be months and it’s functional but I just wish that for better access and convenience the episodes wouldn’t expire.

Incompetence at its finest. I downloaded this on my FireTV to watch Dark Matter. Great show, terrible app. Watched several episodes the first time. I went back in and it had me starting episode 3, I was pretty sure I’d watched it already but I’ve seen the whole series already so I wasn’t sure. Watched through episode 5 this time. Tonight I come back ready to start episode 6 and it’s got me on episode 3. Don’t get me wrong, I love the show and am currently rewatching it but seriously they can’t accurately track what I’ve watched? You literally have one job, to stream entertainment correctly. No biggie, I’ll just exit and go to the proper episode. Guess what? You can’t do that from the show, you have to exit out and track down the series manually. The developers who created this app seem like they were bribed by rival streaming services to make a functional but annoying and stupid app designed to drive customers away. I would like to be watching Dark Matter again instead of writing this review but unfortunately after one episode tonight as the next was starting I got an “Ooops, try again message”. Spoiler alert: trying again did not work. I gave the app 2 stars but this are both for content, the actual app deserves zero stars. Garbage!

Great content, but the app is badly designed, especially on the iPad.. I love the Arrowverse shows. That’s the only reason I watch CW shows. I’m glad I was able to watch the Crisis on Infinite Earths series without having to resort to a less than reputable streaming site, but the app makes me really want to again. The iPad version of the app only allows you to browse in portrait, but goes to landscape when playing a video. It does not, however, let you switch landscape orientations. The ads are also extremely annoying. I get they need ad revenue to continue making money and the shows, but play some different ads. Don’t play the same set of 3-5 ads for the whole episode. It’s also very buggy when it comes to resuming an episode. I already watched your annoying ads. Don’t force me to watch them again to get back to the point I was at. Sometimes it will even start me back to the previous part of the video I already watched before the ads. Then I have to skip back to the point I was at only to be shown the exact same ads! People want to watch the content legally, but the lengthy repetitive ads and bugs make you want to go find it elsewhere for free with no ads. Fix your app!

Quality of life issues - Otherwise great app!. I get the advertisements, I also understand why you only have the last five episode for each show. What is a bit annoying about this app is that certain quality of life features are absolutely terrible. Pausing and resume playing can be a bit buggy and actually force you to the start of the episode which “forces” you to watch another advertisement even if you just watched them. It asked me if I want to turn on push notifications so I said yes but now I realize there’s no way to just select the show I want to watch (The Flash) I guess this means it’ll notify me every time a new episode is added on the app? That’s quite annoying and I’m just gonna turn those off instead. The advertisements are not overly egregious because it’s honestly just commercials like if you were watching it on television, yes it’s annoying but at the end of the day that’s how all TV is. If you don’t want advertisements wait for the entire season to come out on Netflix... Other than a few QOL updates that should be added this is a great app for those of you who are caught up on your favorite CW show and want to remain up to date throughout the season. 4/5 Stars! Edit: After seeing all of the updates you roll out almost each month I think this app truly deserves the 5/5.

App gets out of sync at every commercial break. When casting from this app to a Google device, I’ve tried with two different models, every commercial break audio comes in early and the last minute of each scene is playing without sound while audio from a commercial plays and then the show audio comes back in during the out-of-sync commercial, and then the show starts again but a minute after the audio and it’s not rewindable because the app says it’s still an ad and it’s counting down and it says there’s 2 or 3 minutes left in what the app thinks is an ad. You have to close the video and start it over to fix it because even when you hit resume it goes back to the beginning and then fast forward to where you were because it doesn’t register where you were in the video when you were casting it and if you miss you have to watch the ads again and there’s a chance the audio from the show is going to come in early even when the commercials are in sync when you restart the video. Good content. Terrible app

Great But to Many problems. I like watching the CW but there are way to many adds. If you click the skip button more than 3 times it fast forwards until it hits an add which is so irritating because you have to watch the adds and can’t even go back while the adds are playing. Now there are a lot of good shows on the CW but you can’t watch them all for example with The Flash and DC Legends of Tomorrow series you can only watch whatever is in that season but I don’t know if it’s just me. Also at the very beginning there is an add it would be great if you can move that into later in the video. I know since you don’t have to pay for the app you rely on adds to make money but can you make it to where you don’t watch the same exact add 14 times in less than 30 minutes please. There is also a problem with the timing of a show because it dose not account for the adds it has. Otherwise this is a great app I am not trying to downgrade your app these are just suggestions. Okay, could be much better. I am fine with ads, if I wanted no ads I would have just gone and purchased what I want to watch. However the ads need to be quicker maybe 3 min max, and change it up, the same ad 10 times in one 40 minute episode (I’m exaggerating) is hell, and makes it seem even longer. Please fix programming or whatever, I am never sent back to where I was watching when I hit continue, sometimes it won’t let me hit play when I answer a text. It’s obnoxious and I have to restart the app. ⚡️Overall, I like the shows they are great, for me the quality of viewing is great. I think that considering that this is a free app, with free streaming of the most recent episodes of shows, that others should cut The CW some slack. Yes there are issues that can be fixed/improved, but over all very good for free. For other viewers I recommend watching shows in one sitting, or remembering the time you stopped watching. For The CW I recommend fixing some of the glitches of your app, but great job, on the shows concepts, I love the plots.

New Issues... This is a great app to keep up with some of my shows since I don’t have a TV. I’ve been using this app for a while now and just recently I started getting this error message that pops up when I’m watching Riverdale. I don’t know if it does it on any other shows because I only watch Riverdale and Supernatural and Supernatural hasn’t had any new episodes recently. It will say Error: playback has stalled out. Then I have to exit from the show and press play again and then after a few minutes the same error pops up. I tried exiting the app, removing the app and reinstalling it and nothing it working to get it to play without that error. Without that error though, the app is great and I’ve recommended it to several people.

A lot of simple fix issues. I feel like the app developers never actually used this app after making it. There are a few issues that are so simple to fix it seems odd that still years later have not been addressed. For instance, when you search a show it pulls up random episodes instead of pulling up the entire shows page with all the episodes. So in order to get to the episode page you have to find the show on the main page you can’t search it. Then if your watching a show there is NO option to go to the shows episodes. So then you have to go back to the main page and find the show again! It is extremely irritating. There is no option to save your favorite shows. This app is not user friendly. They show the same commercials over and over and over instead of showing different ones. Drives you insane.

Just feedback. First, I would like to say that the new update is great and I am not having nearly as many stall outs as I was. So, Thank you. Second, I am one of those that won't pay for more than one streaming service at a time. Well, I only carry one, Netflix, consistently. Which has hither to carried CW shows, but I read that is changing. Every once in a while I will pay for a second for as long as I am watching the series. Then I dump it. However, if I could get access to all of a show's seasons and episodes via the CW app, I would be willing to pay for it and carry it regularly. It is the only channel in which I watch nearly every show available, and I have a schedule where it is difficult to keep up with even the five episodes available to me considering I geek out on so many. Awesome App! Free with commercials. I REALLY LOVE this app!!! If I miss the CW tv shows I want to watch the night before, I can watch them in this app for quite a while after they air on tv before they expire from the app. And it being free just for the normal commercial breaks that the regular shows have is AWESOME!!!!!! I can totally watch commercials if it means a free experience to be able to watch my shows if I miss them when they air!!!! I’m currently addicted to Supernatural and have been since it began airing. Sometimes it’s changing schedule from season to season makes me miss an episode here or there. This app allows me to watch or rewatch an aired episode from the night before to keep up with the story arcs with my favorite CW show! It usually allows a week to 3 weeks or so to watch an episode after it airs. Then it will expire from the app. And since I don’t have much money to pay for a service AND my cell phone, I REALLY appreciate that it’s free, just for the trade off of having commercial breaks build into the show! I can totally live with that!!!!! THANK YOU CW APP!!! 💖

Seriously needs work. So I thought I’d catch up on a few episodes I missed while traveling, the app only lets you watch things upside down (the screen will not rotate. Unlike watching the seasons on Netflix, they have commercials (I had guessed, but still annoying, more so because of the following), even with a full signal from a router the app constantly fails & loses its place in the show, possibly 3 or more times just in one of the spaces of programming between commercials, which also means you might have to sit through commercials again & Netflix has never failed once. This is guaranteed to fail repeatedly during every episode you try and watch. 20+ fails, with a strong high bandwidth signal available while only trying to watch 2 episodes. One of the worst apps I’ve ever used. It seriously needs some retooling because the reliability/stability is not impressive at all.

Great content but issues with CW Seed & Apple TV. I love the network and the content and that the app is free! Only complaint is that ever since the merge of CW & CW Seed into one app, Apple TV doesn’t seem to see any of the CW Seed shows as available and even though they are in the Up Next queue, it can’t launch them. Every episode I have to manually relaunch the app and find the show and scroll through the episodes if the show is a CW Seed. Not a problem for regular CW shows (example: The Flash works, but The Lying Game does not). Also it’s funny a lot of the commercials are for the show I’m watching. I’m halfway through season one of TLG and it’s still showing me ads for the pilot. Okay folks…you got me already 😜

Slightly good, but pretty disappointing. I love the idea behind the app. Getting to stream recent episodes of a show you like, for free, is awesome. Because it’s free for the users, I understand the need for the advertisement. But the length of the ads can be quite ridiculous. It’s over 10 minutes of ads per episode that I’ve watched, and majority of the time it’s the same ads. Again, I understand ads are necessary so users can enjoy the app for free. But what really makes me write this review is the fact that so far, every time I’ve stopped watching an episode to come back to watch it later, it “continues watching” at a point way earlier in the episode. Then proceeds to make me watch the ads all over again. That turns a 40 something minute episode into over an hour. It shouldn’t be a headache to resume watching a show where you left of from.

Problems with the ads. So I’ve used this app to watch riverdale for a while and I’ve never had a problem with the ads. But every time I need to get up and do something I can’t pause the ads. And if I text someone the ad pauses and then I can’t start the ad back up to get to the show again. This is so annoying because when this happens I have to restart the app and It doesn’t even save where I was in the show but that isn’t a new problem it’s never saved where I was in the show which you should probably also fix. The only reason I rate this 4 stars is because other than those two problems the app works good and is free. Please fix this

Needs major work. First off I understand that ads are needed to keep the content free but please fix them. I was watching a show and it freezes in the middle of an ad and doesn’t start back playing even after a few minutes. I have to close the app or leave the show’s main page and go back to the video. The freezing also happens in the middle of a show! Really? At first I thought maybe it’s because of my iPad being a few years old, but then I remembered this same thing happens on my iPhone (currently the newest model), my Xbox, and my Mac. So clearly the app and website have issues that desperately need to be fixed. I do not have the patience to keep closing and opening the app/website. It’s like they don’t want people using their app/website at all!

Chromecast issue. I wanted to put this in the support page and couldn’t find a place to do it, only options to read other people’s questions. When I cast to my tv and go back into the app to skip, pause, or whatever, the app doesn’t recognize that it’s casting. I try to give it some time to catch up and that doesn’t do it. If I go back to the cast icon and choose my device again, the episode starts over complete with the commercial start up. For the longest time I thought it was my old phone and I just got a new one and it’s doing the same thing so I’m sure it’s on your side. I also have an issue with the app continuing to play episodes after my tv turns off. All the other apps I cast with stop when the tv turns off. This makes it difficult to know which episode to go back to.

It’s Aight. Okay so I like the app overall. The layout is nice and I love how easy it is to navigate the app, and how you can access the schedules for all your shows. I also really like how you can easily change so many settings like closed captions and notifications. The thing is, the episodes EXPIRE. And yes, I’m sure there’s a reason behind this, saving space or something, but how can you finish watching a series if the first episodes of the next season expire and aren’t available ANYWHERE? I like the app, but I can’t really even use it, since I’d have to skip 13 episodes to be caught up. Again I’m sure there are reasons behind having episodes expire, but if there’s any way this can be changed then that would be GREAT, and if it were changed I’m sure the app would get even better reviews. That’s all.

Terrible for casting and resuming shows. If you ever leave off in the middle of a show, good luck being able to pick up where you left off. Only very occasionally will the app suggest resuming, and it’s often not at the right time where you stopped. Possibly a bigger issue is how bad the app is at keeping the casting menu up. If I am casting to my tv, I will not be able to come back to the app to pause, fast forward, skip to the next episode, etc etc. It should not be a chore to pause the show I am watching. I know this is a free app, but I do think it could be improved on, since some of these issues seem to be made to be annoying on purpose

Glitchy, but I still love y’all. I love you all and I love this app, so that’s why I’m posting a review. It’s super glitchy and I’m almost at the point that I want to throw it out the window. Any time I stop a show, exit out and then go back in, I’ll click to resume and it’ll start me over at the very beginning. It always says “Would you like to resume at (00:42)?” And that’s it. I also like to cast this app to my chrome cast. When I do that, most of the time when I try to rewind so many seconds it’ll glitch out and tell me an ad is playing. And then I no longer have control over the play button or anything like that. I also don’t have the option to control the subtitles either. And ya girl needs her subtitles. Other than these few things, y’all rock.

ok app. first, there is sooo many ads which I understand you need to have a free app, but it’s the same ones over and over again and it’s normally stuff from the same company so it’s very unlikely to get money but only to get people to download the other app. second, there is so many bugs in this app one that happens a lot for me, is where it freezes up and doesn’t get unfreeze until I exit the app 3 times. they don’t have many shows, the only show I’m interested in is Jane the virgin and the schedule they have is always changing. I would be very pleased with the app with they did fix these problems. but after Jane the virgin is over I’m deleting this app because I never had any interest in any other show.

Fix this!. I got the CW app to watch the new episodes of Riverdale and I watched two or three episodes without having any problem at all. But when I got to the forth or fifth episode the app kept saying “Error playback can’t be installed” I had never watched this episode so I was confused. I came to the App Store and looked at the CW reviews and I read the first review. The first review said to wait an hour or so and it would go away. So that’s what I did I waited an hour and like 30 minutes. But when I got back onto the app it said it again and I couldn’t watch the show. It has been doing this for about a week now and it really frustrates me because it has been doing saying “error playback can’t be installed” for so long. Please fix this I absolutely despise this bug.

Can’t complain too much about free TV ;). I love that I have the ability to watch my favorite shows considering I do not have cable. The commercials/ads whatever you want to call them do not bug me. It’s a wonder to me how the people complaining about them ever watch live TV because there are MANY more commercials then there are here. Anyway. It would be really great if when I stopped watching in the middle of a show, it would save where I was at to resume later. It is kind of a hassle and sometimes frustrating trying to figure out where I was in an episode. That’s really my only complaint though. Get that up and running and this app will be perfect!

Buggy. Before this app was updated it was really easy to jump back into a video once I left the app. Now its way worse and I am stuck rewatching ads multiple times. What’s more annoying is all the ads are the same one which by now I have memorized them and the amount of them is a bit over the top. Also whenever I want to go back and rewatch a favorite scene or I missed something, I am forced to rewatch the ads. If you are prepared to keep up with shows from when they first came out and you have patience to watch a billion ads then this is the app for you. Or you can just wait for the season to come out on Netflix when it ends.

Love the service... app seems a bit buggy with Chromecast. Not sure if it is the new iOS software or what but just recently there have been issues casting to Google Chromecast. It’s slow/laggy, doesn’t let you control much because the app seems unresponsive, etc. I had to reset it twice during a show because it simply stopped working. Haven’t had these issues in the past and love that the CW has this app available - maybe it needs some bug fixes with the new software updates! (For the record, I didn’t have any issue with the bar at the bottom showing up during the show... actually, the opposite, I had to exit out and go back into the episode to get that feature to show up at all!)

They don’t have the new PLL the perfectionists. I had this app but then chose to delete it when I was sick of the show that I watching. A couple months passed by and then one day I was scrolling down my Instagram and saw an add for the new pretty little lairs show. (PLL the perfectionists.) I soon realized that I had no source to watch it on. Which made me disappointed. And then just now I thought of The CW app and thought.. They have a lot of shows that I can’t watch anywhere else they might have this one!!! I got so excited!.. just to find that they don’t have the show. They do have other good ones but not the one that I expected them to have. Overall I do think that it is a good app and recommend it just not for PLL fans such as myself.

Streaming is not great. I think maybe the CW needs to sell more ads or something to invest in better performance of their streaming service. I have no problems when streaming Netflix on my device but when I stream with the CW app, it stops playing several times per episode and the picture quality takes a while to improve after each stall. Not that I want more ads but they need to invest more in their technology. And speaking of ads, the same ads play over and over and over. The same ad over and over does not make me want the thing being hawked at me any more. In fact, the same ad over and over again only makes me want the thing less. Luckily you can turn down your volume during ads.

Worlds worst streaming app. I downloaded this app for two reasons. Down to earth with Zac Efron & swamp thing. Both of which where canceled. The big one was Down to earth. That show helped me feel like there was a healthier and sustainable way to live my life. It’s literally my favorite docuseries ever. I wasn’t a BIG fan of Zac before this show. I didn’t dislike him but did like some of the roles he’d played in beforehand. After watching the first season a few years back I became an even bigger fan. Then I watched the second and somewhere between the first and second seasons I became a huge fan. I like the guy. He’s a good person and he’s trying to help others out and help us help the planet. You can’t get much better then Zac. So that being said I am permanently dropping the CW. Won’t EVER be coming back to this streaming platform. Bring back Zac and I may come back!

This WAS a great app.... I loved this app. It allowed me to see all my favorite CW programs after CW was no longer carried on DISH network in my area. Everything was perfect...and then they had to update it to require iOS 10 or higher. I have a slightly older iPad, it only goes till iOS 9.6.something. I live in Puerto Rico where we had a massive hurricane last year. I'm lucky to have a roof on my house let alone be able to buy a new iPad. The app also won't work with a computer unless it has Windows 10 - well, same problem there, mine has Windows 7. So this app is not free for me, I have to come up with at least $399 in order to watch my favorite shows on the CW for a new iPad or computer. Why, why did you do that? The people who most need it free can't watch it anymore. Heck, I would pay for the app if it would just work with my equipment. I would pay extra for the channel if they'd let DISH carry it. Come on CW help us out here!

The constant pausing/freezing. I liked the earlier iterations of this app far better because I was able to binge an entire season. I’m not too bothered by it now because I understand contracts and whatnot play a factor. What does irritate the living daylights out of me is that every so often during playback, the video pauses itself. Pushing the play button does nothing. It remains frozen for a few minutes before deciding to play. Then when it does play it’s at a spot where it would have if it hadn’t frozen. Then I have to rewind, which the interface for that is also crappy. It either goes back too far because the little circle doesn’t actually want to move. Otherwise I’m stuck pressing the 10 second rewind forever. I truly don’t hate the app but this is extremely frustrating.

Only use if you can watch the episode in one sitting. I rarely have time to watch a whole episode of anything in one sitting. This app is very frustrating because, even though it has a “Continue” option to let you resume an episode where you left off, it never seems to work. It will pick up at some random spot that is rarely anywhere near where you actually stopped watching. I’ve also had times where I hit the option to skip forward 30 seconds and the episode starts over from the beginning for some reason. This app pretty much only works if you can watch an episode from start to finish and not touch anything until it’s over.

...um. So.. I used to really like this app. I was and still are happy that you can watch episodes for free! BUT.. There is a glitch. It’s SUPER annoying. A show of riverdale isn’t showing up. Season 3 Episode 9. It’s been two weeks of me trying everything that it says to do if this happens in the “Support” section of the app. I’ve tried my wifi, i’ve updated it multiple times, i’ve relaunched the app, ive deleted it and downloaded it over again many times, and i’ve updated my phone. Why won’t it show?? I’m so annoyed. It might be something wrong that i’m doing, but it also might be something about the app! I’m thinking about finding somewhere else to watch the episode. If anybody in the review section knows how to fix this, please tell me 😁

The CW Review.... I only really enjoy the app because I can watch All American Season 2 since Netflix isn’t showing the full season until 2020. The app has too many ads it shows like 6 ads after watching 10-15 minutes of something, which I understand since it’s a free app, but the ads are really long. The episode loads slow sometimes, no matter how good your WiFi is. The app has a glitch, for all American the episode says it will be out on Monday which is today @ 7/8 pm but it’s currently almost 11 pm and there isn’t a new episode yet which is really stupid to me. Overall if Netflix had all the episodes of season 2 I would be on there instead of this so at the end of the day NETFLIX ON TOP!!!

Wish app worked cross devices. I have to say I’m not really having the issue with the app crashing (knock on wood) I’ve had this app for a long time now and in the beginning it use to crash but I feel like it’s gotten better. My biggest issue with this app is that it doesn’t have some kind of login. I usually start by watching the shows on my phone, if I’m out, then want to pick up where I left off on the TV when I get home but because it’s not synced I kind of have to figure out where I left off and fast forward to that spot and 9 times out of 10 you have to watch ALL the commercials you already watch. Other then that I do love the fact that your able to watch all the CW shows on demand.

Constantly stalls out during playback!. During the episode the playback will stop, then you get error message that playback has stalled out. Have to exit app, then go back to start episode again. Sometimes happens multiple times while playing an episode or won’t restart at all. Really annoying. Took me 3 days to watch 1 episode! But even though the program constantly stalls out and has to be restarted, the ads always play with no problems! Over and over and over, the same series of ads. It’s annoying enough when the app works, even worse when you have to restart it and see the same ads even more times, then program starts, plays 10 seconds and stalls out again. Don’t have this issue with other network apps. Needs to be fixed. Rating should allow zero stars!

New app update is the worst. I use to watch my shows on the CW app almost every day. But since the latest update, combining CW and CWSeed, the app has become a major headache. Now I have to scroll and search for my shows each time. Before, the shows I watched were all together in one area and the next available show was already to go. Now I have to remember what episode I’m on. The continue to watch area doesn’t work right. Only some shows that I started and didn’t finish shows up. Which means any show you accidentally start shows up as well. With no way to edit. There are several shows I really enjoy on the CW. (Which is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1). But the app alone is bad enough for me to find something else to watch.

why. look very great app and all but I wish I can just put 5 stars but no, since this app is okay kinda wish I organized ur shows to like Netflix, as in putting them in order in seasons because what if people wanted to watch a show but at the first episode but u didn’t put it up but instead removing it then putting new episodes, I maybe wrong since it happen to me when I was trying to find episode 1 of super girl but yet to find nothing but episode 2, this is what I meant by “organizing” the episodes and their seasons, maybe if u had the chance to fix it I think I would’ve have gladly put this 5 stars but developers if ur reading this, think about this (not like anyone would read this at all smh)

⚠️I need a warning⚠️. I love the CW and it’s content, but when I watch a show and come back to it the next day the episode I was watching is suddenly gone. When I tried to find a place where it tells me what is expiring and when on my phone,I get nothing. After looking on my computer I was able to find a place where it would tell you what was expiring and the date. I would just appreciate it if you guys could find someway to put the same feature on my phone. I get it if this is beyond your control and maybe it is just my phone. I just wanted you guys to recognize that this is happening.❤️ still really love this app though on of the only apps I can count on to give me good content❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Good idea but overall a disappointment. I’m so happy to have an option to watch Jane the virgin but between the commercials and the errors it’s almost not even worth it. It will randomly drop the episode and restart from the beginning, even when you choose to continue instead of restart it will re-start your episode anyway and by the time you figure out where you were you’ve watched 5 cw commercials for every spot you try so you’ve watched at least 15 annoying commercials. Then you figure it out but wait...the sound is off so their lips don’t match the words. So you have to reset it again. Right now I’m watching it with a banner across my screen that says up next in 0 seconds...Ringer! The episode has 15 minuets left...It’s another error. I might just wait till it goes to Netflix where I don’t have to deal with this.

too many bugs. so i understand that this app lets you watch these shows for free but first off , there are way too many ads than there should be , i shouldn’t have to sit there and watch like 10 ads each break before resuming to the show that makes people become uninterested , but anyway the reason i’m writing this review is because there are so many bugs when i’m trying to watch a show , for example after the ads are done , when resuming to the show it doesn’t resume to where it leaves off , when it resumes it skips past so much of the show that i haven’t seen yet , then when i try to rewind it , nothing works .. at the bottom i try to tap and hold the circle and drag it back to rewind .. and it’s unresponsive .. also the 10 second rewind and forward buttons also disappear so all you’re left with is a pause and play button which gets annoying , then just to finish the show i have to go on my computer .. like this shouldn’t be happening after so much time having this app installed .. i even forces close the app and deleted and reinstall and still these bugs appear , i think it’s not too much to ask to lessen the ads and fix these bugs , for everyone else’s enjoyment not just mine

Latest version has an annoying bug. As many others have said, there’s simply no beating this app. No subscription required, and the latest shows free with just a few commercials. Frankly, I wish all networks would follow this style! Latest version has a really annoying bug though: during playback, the on-screen controls don’t fade away as they’re supposed to. There’s a brief flicker of the overlay - it’s almost imperceptible - but it seems as though the fade away is triggered but then interrupted, and so the controls remain. I’m confident this will be resolved soon; the app has always been my go-to for catching up on all my favorite CW programs.

Something broke. Idk if it’s the recent release or lack of compatibility with iOS update, but like everyone else is saying, commercials have no pause or resume capability. If you switch apps during a commercial, you cannot resume, and have to shut down the app completely to even exit from the player. On top of that, the app no longer has the “play from beginning or resume where you left off” function. There’s no way to get back to where you were without watching at least 2 full sets of commercials (the very first set plus the set immediately before the section you’re skipping to). And that’s if you’re lucky and happened to skip to the correct section. If you picked the wrong section and need to try a different part of the episode, better gear up for more ads! FIX YOUR BUGS, CW!!!!

Decent lineup, lacking app. Ok. So, the lineup is what contracts and revenue and all that allow. And they have some decent shows. My issue is with the app itself. Minor complaint is that it just feels clunky. Still, minor. I’m here for the shows, not the controls. Major issue is that when you finish an episode, don’t start the next, come back later to the “continue” tab, the show isn’t there. You can only continue a partially watched episode, not a series. No problem, I’ll just search for it by name. And then it pulls a randomly ordered list of matching episodes, and if the last one you watched doesn’t make the top however many matches it shows, or you don’t recall the season/episode you last saw … too bad! But, no. If you click an episode, you should be able to go back to the episode list, right? If so, I can’t find the controls for that! The only workaround is to go to the opening page, view a list of all series, scroll to yours, and THEN you can see the episodes. It feels like an app that was made for movie watching, and then TV episodes were bolted on. Just not well-thought through.

DONT GET THIS APP!!!!!!!!. I know that with this app there would be ads in between the intervals of shows of every episode and usual when it’s time for an add to come on it probably shows 2-3 or 4 shorts ads and gets right back to the show. But this time I’ve been experiencing 25+ ads one right after another, taking maybe 10-15 minutes away from me finishing an episode of a show. This has occurred each time I have been trying to play the same episode from where I left off, and it never resumes to where you left off exactly it replay from maybe 2-5 or maybe longer from before where you left off. I repeat DO NOT GET THIS APP, and if it it already on your smart tv like it is with mine just do yourself a favor and not use it even though it is free and has a lot of benefits the cons are just greater than the pros.

Only a few changes needed. Please make the app viewable in landscape format. When I watch on my iPad, it’s annoying to have turn it vertical or do everything sideways. I’m also not a fan of how you have to click to watch the latest episode of the shows. Instead of clicking on the episode name in the list you have to click the image. I keep forgetting to do that because it doesn’t make sense. Also, I prefer the time past & remaining to be on the bottom of the video, not in the top left corner where it is now. I do like that the ad breaks are designated with a darker color and I can tell about how long they last. On the main menu, I think the shows should be listed in either alphabetical order or by day they air. One kind of weird thing is every time I have watched a show on the app since the fall season started, there has been the same ad at the beginning before the show starts and it is half in Spanish and I’m not really sure why. At first, I thought I’d accidentally hit something, but it’s done it every time.

The amazing 😉 CW app. When I found out about the show Supergirl I tried to go to Netflix and tried to watch it but it wasn’t on there yet so I went online looking for ways to find out how to watch Supergirl and then finally I came across this app The CW and at first I was a little skeptical, I was like it’s too good to be true,But really it is too good to be true but also it is legit because oh my gosh all of it was free I didn’t have to pay to watch anything it is amazing plus I got to watch the episodes come out every week so this app is legit, it’s awesome you should go watch it, no like seriously DO IT NOW.😁😇😁😘🥰😍😇😁🤣😂🤩🥳😎🤓

it’s an ok app... To be honest for such a wealthy company and tv stream, this app is not really that good . For one(and the main problem): the amount of ads which we get it, for there to be something free there has to be a thing that can still allow you to make money for the app, ads, BUT EVERY like 6-12 minutes there is an ad. Matter fact not just AN ad but multiple ads. That are the same EXACT ones . i mean i get ads but why have it so close to eachother in an episode and basically waste 20 minutes of life per episode on just watching ads but also the same, exact, ones. i can basically memorize the words to..! this would be such an amazing and wonderful more productive app if not for those ads 😓 please reduce those or you can even have a buy option for no ads. i mean it’s free tho so .

This is seriously horrible. This app is honestly amazing, but I gotta admit that it’s a little annoying that every time I get on my phone to watch tv, it saves the wrong spot, and then I’m ten minutes behind. And then I have to re-watch a bunch of ads just to get to the right spot where I left off. But at least I can watch season 3 of riverdale! Also u gotta be joking 27 minutes after air date AND IM STILL NOT WATCHING RIVERDALE. LIKE HELLO? Why is it not there?! Instead of watching at 8 I’m watching at 9. And no, I don’t think it’s ‘just my phone’!ok. 2 hours now, still no episode 5. LIKE WHAT THE HECK?! By the way, the only reason there are two bubbles in stars up there, is because at least I got to watch episodes 1-4 of season 3 but like really? 2 hours late? And still no episode 5? I’m done.

Horrible. Started watching the Crisis on Infinite Earth through the app on my Apple TV since I work evenings. After watching the first two episodes which constantly stopped for reasons I don’t know of (no problems watching anything else) I decided to catch up on other DC shows. You would thing the CW would offer at least the entire season so far but they don’t on top of that you can only watch 3 of the latest episodes and have to scroll down to get to the oldest first then keep going back to watch the others in order. One top of that it’s loaded with more “sneak peeks” trailers and interviews than actual shows. Being geeky about a topic is all good but the what’s the point if you can’t even watch what it’s referring to. I just don’t get it. The entire structure of this app and how it functions is simply horrible.

Update issue. The cw app was great before and i love how the updated app looks and i could deal with watching the same ads over and over and over again, no matter how annoying they are but when the ads dont want to play and i have to stop the episode then watch all the ads again, i get really annoyed. There are already about 6 ads in between the show, this last time it said “something went wrong” on the third ad, so i went back and this continued to happen 4 times over. I just want to watch my shows without any issue. There should also be a section like before where only the current shoes are shown so you know whats even on currently on tv

I can never watch the last segment!. So I’ve had this app for a few weeks. We are trying to switch our tv watching entirely over to streaming services and this app is the only way to watch CW shows. I can live with the repetitive commercials but it would be nice to actually be able to watch an entire show. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I get to the last watchable segment of any show, there is an “error in playback” message and the only way to watch the show is to fast forward through the whole show (while rewatching the commercials) to get to where it left off, and sometimes this has to be done several times before I can actually watch the final but. What gives?!?! I would happily pay a subscription fee to be able to watch an entire show.

Buggy. It is difficult to use this app because while I am chrome-casting an episode of Jane the Virgin, if I dare use my phone for anything else, exiting the app makes the episode stop playing. When I pull the episode back up it forces me to watch a commercial and start the episode over from the beginning, so I have to try to figure out where my spot is. I don’t understand the point of streaming something to my television if I can’t use my phone simultaneously. I have never had this issue with any other streaming app. More annoying is that when my phone is in power save mode and the screen automatically goes black to conserve battery, that also makes the app stop casting the episode, and I have to go back in and start it over again.

Great shows but terrible error playback issue. Don’t get me wrong I love all the shows, but every time I watch a show since the last update, after about 2 minutes it gives me a message saying “error: playback has stalled out” which is stupid because that’s only supposed to be for when the video takes a while to start not when the video is already playing and then just decides to cut me off having me click on the video again just to start where it cut me off and then 2 minutes later cut me off again. No, this problem really needs to be fixed because I don’t know if it’s just my phone or app or if it’s with everyone’s app but it needs to be fixed ASAP.

Legacies. Okay y’all gotta do better you can not give the blood and Gore of the originals and gave us two seasons of jazz I don’t even understand what’s going on with the special effects on legacies. Like when is Help going to become her fool unadulterated self when is she going to become the trifecta when will her vampire powers kick in what is it that we are not getting we are two almost 3 seasons in a Yala giving us these cramps special effects and a story that has no validity I mean like this derby line is crap the I don’t know what else to say the storyline is crap the special effects as crap you got to do better I mean I can do better with my eyes closed we’re coming up with something sensational

Good content strategy, bad frame rate.. It’s great that the app doesn’t require sign-in to watch. Though, the app is really annoying because it doesn’t seem to remember where I’ve left off in episodes from one session to the next. But, my biggest complaint is the frame rate is awful on Apple TV 4K. I have match frame rate turned on, and the streams play at 60fps and you can tell it’s jittery. If I manually change the system settings to 4k24hz, video is way better. It seems the app doesn’t support the match frame rate API, or maybe it sticks to 60 for the ads inserted into streams? Either way - you can tell the frame rate isn’t quite... right. Makes me wonder if this is how it looks when broadcast via cable - jittery? It’s close. But just not quite right.

I wouldn’t give it a five star I give it a 2/5 it’s not good if you are gonna use a bathroom break or eating snacks, every time one section is finished it always plays two ads in one I was rlly confused, after 2 days later some how it wouldn’t let me log in to the app I don’t know why it’s not working it was not good as Nextlix I considered to wait for season 3 or 4 at river dale, I don’t rlly like this app but I don’t rlly like it so,it’s good for using this as a screen recording and taking screenshot for my edits on Tick Tock which is musically. But every once in a while it stops working I hate when it w loads and sometimes it just not the right app for me to edit my Tick Tocks. Pls respond to me for fixing this problems of CW I hope you can fix this problem Pls.

Restarts show. I got the app because I watch many shows on the CW but when I get tired of watching or I leave the app for a while it exits my show (not the problem) BUT when I go back to watch it it gives me the option to restart or continue when I press continue it doesn’t even go to the part I stopped watching the show at big problem if I don’t know when i stopped watching the show at ! And also when I click to make it go 10 seconds ahead it goes for less than 1 second and DISAPPEARS so not only does it not continue on the part I stopped i have to struggle to find out where I stopped please fix this issue

Needs a search bar.. When I got this app I liked it but when I started using the app and found a show that I like. I keep on watching it but it has been giving me issues like when I go back to the app it is like my show has disappear but I found a way to find it you just go to the continue watching and it will be there. I have been doing it for a while but it started giving me issues again last night so what happened was I go to the continue watching and scroll down to we’re it says you might also like those shows and my show should have been there but it was not there it is my show is not there anymore but it is there on the app. So that is why I think they should add a search bar to this app because it will be easier to find are shows.

Worst app. I understand having ads to fund your free app but this is ridiculous. Anytime I have to rewind or fast forward too close to an ad slot it makes me watch double ads. Sometimes it’ll play an ad and jump backwards to a scene I’ve already watched and when I fast forward I have to watch ANOTHER ad. Sometime the ads start in the middle of a scene not even a break between scenes. I get to enjoy a good 15 -20 minutes of no ads at first but then I’m bombarded with ads every 5 minutes in the mid-ends of the episodes. It’s ridiculous. And I don’t even wanna start on the Xbox version of the app. It’s all trash. I only downloaded it to watch batwoman so I can see the Crisis episodes for your DC shows. I will never use this app again. I read that Batwoman and other shows have been sold to HBO instead of Netflix, which is great! I would rather buy HBO then use your app again.

Can no longer use it!!!!. I LOVE this app. Being able to watch the Outpost and Supergirl, as well as the 100, which is the show I wanted to watch when I downloaded it. I've never had any problems that were related to the app, although sometimes my phone would act up, but not the app's fault. I was so excited when I logged on last night to watch my shows, so imagine my surprise when it said it needed to be updated in order for me to use it. Of course, I go to the AppStore, but no update shows. I tried deleting it and re downloading it. Now this helped. I got a notification. Apparently, the newest version of the app requires an iOS version that I don't have. They asked me to download the latest compatible version, but upon opening the app, I was told I needed to download the update before continuing use of the app. I loved this app so much, but my phone storage is terrible and I can't download the latest iOS. Because of this, I'm going to miss my favorite shows. This really stinks, and I think someone should fix it. Not all people have the newest iOS.

It glitches so much. I love the shows that th CW makes and i love how the app airs the shows the day after. but I have used this app for over a year and it glitches terribly. I can never watch a full show through out without having to close the entire app more than ten times. when the commercials air, my whole phone spaz out and log off the app and will not even play the show again... and i’ve had this app on three different phones so I know it’s not my phone. FIX THIS. these problems have been happening for over a year and not once have they done anything to fix these problems. I cannot even enjoy watching my shows because it takes me more than two hours to watch a 45 minute episode... I am constantly trying to get this app to work correctly and it’s so annoying! y’all make enough money, CW, have your tech people fix it.
