Elevate Vocal Menu is Too Loud & Cant’t Be Adjusted. Please turn down the voice of the guy who talks whenever Vizio devices connect (which is often, since I have to restart my devices several times a day to make them work properly). Doesn’t matter the time of day. After every reboot, a human voice suddenly and LOUDLY speaks “VIZIO DEVICE FOUND! ADJUST THE MENU…” etc. But we can’t turn that announcement volume down! We’ve never been able to change it. It’s just so unnecessarily loud. And it just has to play out the entire message. It can’t be interrupted. Unless you unplug it from the wall. Which causes it to start over. Old review - this hasn’t happened for a while; likely solved. Thanks devs. / in late 2022, after updating my software & firmware; my Elevate sound system was constantly turning my bass, treble, and sub woofer down by itself. Every time I start a new show I have to check my levels. I change them back manually, and then later that day, the system has changed them back. I never changed them to begin with (= fixed). Can’t recommend Vizio. My OLED 55 suffered an internal crack (thermal cracks are what the internet calls sudden, non-impact related, internal glass damage) shortly after warranty window closed.

Got Grandkids? You need this App. I love my baby grandkids but those little stinkers are constantly losing the remotes to the 5 smart TVs we have throughout the house. This app was an absolute godsend!!! I no longer have to look for remotes stuck in between the couches, underneath the beds, in the laundry, or even possibly in the fireplace… I got the app, and now access to every one of my TVs at any time. Thank you to whoever developed this app, you have taken away all of my anxiety when it comes to wanting to turn on and watch my TV… no matter what room I’m in! LOVE IT!!!

Up there with Apple. I know there are people that just don’t like Apple just because they don’t know any better ! Or they just can’t afford it but then you have the other 75% of the world that knows quality and that’s exactly what this Vizio App is ! Top quality of Products right here ! I’ve been buying Vizio TVs for about 10 years and they are always ahead of the game ! And their sound systems or again Top Notch ! I currently have the 55” 4K with their surround sound system which is unreal ! And now I have a remote that controls everything together individual and as deep into the system and their original remote! Top Shelf 360°

Time to update my review. My last review was god-awful the remote was super slow couldn’t get connection. It would constantly disconnect, but over the past year they have improved it an extreme amount, even going to the extent of changing the look of it now in the latest update, which I kind of like but I wish they brought back the remote button feature where you could click the button on the phone and it made it look like the remote, and the swiping feature, I really do miss the swiping feature as well. That was great just some of the UI from the old date needs to be brought to the new update but other than that I really am enjoying it. I have no more connection issues and everything is fast and responsive. PS this is coming from a person with multiple Vizio smart cast TVs in the house. This app controls all the TVs in my home. We do not use physical remotes. Everything is done by the app so it is extremely important to me that it works well that is why we bought the Vizio smart TVs with smart cast.

Terrible update. The new layout update has made this app useless. Whenever I press input it now says I have to re-pair my tv to app. When you go through the steps it just keeps saying the same thing over and over. Strange thing is I can control the sound and channels the only thing I can’t do is change input. The last version I could at least tap the remote option to change to the visual style of old remote and was able to change the input. Add for developer response: it’s not the remote it’s the app I’m talking about and I have already done the unparing and reparing of the app. Even deleted and reinstalled. As I have said the app does not work. As a matter of fact if I try to use the app it will even mess with the text keyboard on all other apps to were it puts it in landscape position when the phone is upright (yes I have both turned off and turned on auto rotate) I have to totally restart the phone to fix that but the next time I attempt to use the app it happens again. Just let us know it’s an issue and you are (or not) working on a fix.

Requires Bluetooth, STILL cannot find sound bar. I got my TV and surround sound about 5 years ago. The sound bar absolutely would not pair via Bluetooth (Customer service tried but could not help). I connected via a wire and have been using the bare bones remote that came with it (the real remote was a phone app). Still having to reset and/or relink since then, and seems easily confused by the only Bluetooth app I use, which is only every month or two. And the sub woofer passes the test but has never functioned while viewing. So I do not use Bluetooth and do not trust it with this tv/surround sound setup. I thought I’d try the phone app just to control power and sound level (I use my Roku remote for these as well as streaming since I didn’t care for the smart cast app). Only to find out it only works via Bluetooth. It can detect the TV and turn it off via WiFi; cannot turn back on without Bluetooth. Cannot find surround sound at all, even with Bluetooth enabled. So, to sum up, this app is buggy, poorly thought out, and absolutely useless to me. But hey, it’s got a new name, so that’s something!

All the positive reviews must be paid…. This app is literally awful. I never write reviews but today I decided enough is enough. This app is horrible. Connection issues, bad UI, just everything about it is horrible. Like I’m literally about to save up and buy a new tv from a different brand just so I don’t have to deal with how AWFUL the connection issues are (both my tv and this stupid app remote). My tv and this remote never stay connected to each other/wifi. And I know it’s not me because I’ve had this issue in 3 different apartments in 3 different cities with 3 different wifis. I’m constantly having to reset my tv/this remote for it to be able to work. And even then it’s sometimes iffy. Like it never stays connected so it takes like 5 minutes to be able to get the thing to work. It’s actually so bad that I rarely use my tv. Either fix it or I'm buying a different brand tv next month.

Works great! If you have trouble- contact support!. The first time I use this app, I had problems however, I contacted support by text and they responded very quickly and helped solve the problem. It was due to a setting on my iPhone where I had chose ‘zoom’ under display. This caused me to be unable to see the entire remote buttons. I must say I was absolutely amazed that I actually got a quick response from Vizio. The text conversation with the agent was really cordial and walked me right through it. My thanks to the help desk agent!

Works great, easy to use. I have poor vision and had my vision accessibility on my phone set up to provide me with larger display (zoomed in). Originally, I didn’t realize that the app provided volume control because volume buttons did not show up on my screen. After turning off my vision accessibility settings, I realized that there was the ability to control the volume of my television. Idk if the developer can fix this issue but it would definitely benefit those with limited vision to have the volume controls appear on their device display. Still gave five stars because everything else is absolutely wonderful. I actually chose to just leave my vision accessibility turned off (zoomed out) so that I can control the volume. It’s difficult to see or read anything on my phone now, but I use this app every day and decided it was too much of a hassle to keep changing settings. If this can be fixed, I think it would definitely make this app even better than it already is. Thank you in advance for taking this into consideration 😊

Best Yet!. This is super user friendly! I’ve tried many different versions of the Vizio Remote but this one is the best yet. It has different tabs with different options, one including where you can choose from the variety of apps and click directly on the app that you’re wanting to use. But my favorite part is that it has a volume button and a power button that actually works. The other remotes wanted to charge a fee to include those options. If you’re wondering to download this app or not then I would encourage you to do so.

Well designed app. Very user.. Was using an 11 year old Samsung smart tv. Upgraded to a new 43” Vizio and am amazed how far the smart tv has come. The Vizio app is well designed, and works seamlessly across multiple devices, some 6 years older than the new TV. My favorite app function is its ability to turn a phone into a remote control. Easily connects to devices, and has full functionality controlling the tv. Keyboard is great when searching for programs, apps, whatever. On my iPhone the speak to type function is a beta version, and works perfectly. Really great app, highly recommend!

Vizio soundbar app pairing is horrible. I’m not sure what this thing is trying to do but it utterly fails. I purchased two sound bars and they work great, but the Vizio app is really bad. My experience has been that I had trouble getting the soundbar in Access Point mode, but once connected, it asks me to pair. It finds the soundbar and then asks for WiFi for info (not sure why since it’s plugged into the LAN), I say ‘skip’. It realizes it’s actually connected and looks for updates. The sound bar says it’s up to date, and then the app re-enters pairing mode and won’t let me actually pair. It’s like the app ‘requires’ the sound bar to pair over WiFi and will not recognize a hard-wired config. I’ve tried pairing it via WiFi too only for it to not be able to connect to a hidden WiFi, even after putting the connection info in. It would also be great if I didn’t have to pair over WiFi. Both my mobile device and the sound bar are on the same network. Just broadcast a discovery packet of some kind. Still not connected after an hour of trying.

Terrible new app due to advertisements. The app crashes when attempting to load advertisements. I use a network wide ad blocker since advertisements on mobile devices tends to cause battery drain and overheating. As well as extra data usage for internet services that have capacities applied. Not to mention the ads that might have different forms of malware attached to them. The review received 2 stars and not 1 star because it can connect better to the sound bar than the previous app but forcing users to have advertisements to use an app for an already purchased product should not be common practice. Especially a product that is advertised as smart or configurable through an app.

Suggestion to improve the app!. I love this app. It has made using the tvs in my house easy and I don’t have to worry about the remote going missing with my toddler anymore. One thing that would be cool to see, when you have multiple tvs on the remote, the status of the tv that might be in the other room. Just some way of knowing if it’s on or off so you don’t have to get out of bed and walk to the other room to see if the tv is still on. Maybe a green or red light next to the tv name? Idk but that is my one and only complaint about this app.

Absolutely terrible just dont buy a vizio tv in general. Vizio is a terrible app for a lot of reasons. the reason i had to get it is because my tv remote accidentally got thrown away and we didnt want to order a new one (because of money and it felt unnecessary with an app) so we downloaded the app and first off, now our tv starts to completely stop working out of no where. like quite literally. im so angry because i was just trying to watch greys anatomy and it just froze and wouldn’t let us click anything. so we had to get up and turn it off and back on manually but ofc that dosen't work. so we were just stuck. also i cant use my app anymore on my phone and i dont no why. it stopped connecting to the tv. im home alone a lot so if i want to watch something i cant on my tv. So now we have to order a remote and the thing is even when we have the remote the freezing thing still happens just less often and is easier to get around. The tv in general is terrible dont get the tv or the app.

Most the time doesn’t connect to my tv. The most irritating thing about this app is the way that, at random, my tv doesn’t respond when I’m pressing buttons on the app. I’ve already redownloaded the app. At first my tv connected again, but since then I’ve had to either unplug and re plug in the tv to get it to connect or restart my whole phone. Trying to turn on the tv from the app is a nightmare in my opinion. Doesn’t work 90 % of the time which is so annoying. It’s 2023. It can’t be that hard to make technology that works and connects with other things like our phones etc. Still only turns on my tv 1 out of 5 times. Other times just won’t register. Not an enjoyable experience

It’s Great!. It works perfectly on my Vizio D series 32 the only thing that it needs help with is to turn on the TV but after all of that it’s very great I’m glad Vizio made this It’s great for if you lose your remote, I love TVs like this, and it doesn’t even need an input for his TV. This is the best TV I’ve ever laid hands on. It has all the apps and movies and a whole entire import for shows it’s better than every single TV I’ve heard of better than LG Roku Samsung and Sanyo Sanyo is the worst. I love Vizio when I grow up even though I’m already a teenager I will still use this Vizio 💙💙💙💙💙

Worse TV EVER!. UPDATE! I went to the Vizio support like the developer instructed and they wanted me to pay to speak to someone for help. Seriously…… This is hands down the WORSE TV I’ve ever owned. I bought one and had to take it back because it wouldn’t stay connected to the internet. Every time I turn it on I have to reconnect to the internet and I’m lucky if it connects at all. More often than not….it will NOT connect. (None of my other smart TV’s have this problem. But they aren’t VIZIO) This new one I got has the exact same problem BUT since the update Vizio did the other day, I now have no picture. I have sound but no picture. I have to continually turn the TV off and on to get the picture to come on. VIZIO has changed the ability to enter your password for your internet to even try to get it to connect. So here I sit with a TV I can not even use. What a waste.

Haters are idiots!. Dog chewed up one of my controllers and downloaded this app. It works on my living room 70 inch TV, my family room TV and my master bedroom TV. All Viszio. After my first Vizio (Black Friday special) purchase, I have been nothing but impressed with how good it is for the price. My pup chewed on one of my remotes and so I downloaded this app. It has worked perfectly as it says it would and now I’m sad that I spent money on ordering a new controller as I don’t feel I need it now. If you want to hate, my advice is; you need to spend more than double the money and purchase a “name brand” tv and complain to their customer service when it doesn’t live up to your standards. This App works great for me.

Good and very few flaws. All of the functions work perfectly and it is practically just like a normal vizio remote, however when u push buttons on the app it is a bit more delayed than i expected it to be but that may be an issue with my phone or wi-fi or smth idk. Only one other thing is “wrong” with it for me and that’s the fact that the button i push to go to the smart cast menu just…doesn’t work like at all. But, i can just go to the apps tab in the vizio app and pick whatever i wanna watch from there so it’s not very inconvenient for me personally but could be for others.

So good, so great!. The remote to my smart tv broke and I really did not want to 1) have to spend money on a new one, and 2) have to wait for it to con in before I could watch tv. This was the perfect solution and a breeze to install. After using it, I discovered that it is better than the original remote because it has shortcuts for apps you can favorite, and you can use the keyboard instead of having to scroll through the in app search keyboard one letter at a time, especially since they all seem to have a different system. So much faster and easier to have everything streamlined!

Not even usable on my device. I used to use this app all the time until this most recent update. i lost my tv remote months ago and used this instead for volume since my roku didnt have a volume option. Now, the whole remote doesnt even fit on my phone, meaning i cant do the one thing i got this app for! I have an iphone 7, and apparently my screen is too small for the vizio remote interface. previously you told me to contact you guys, but that’s impossible because the way of contacting you doesnt even have the mobile remote as an option. Just go back to the old interface. You know, the one that actually worked? Now i have to use a worse app that doesnt even have half the features you guys had. disappointing

Bring Back the TV Remote Layout!. I appreciated the old app which gave me a choice of a view that replicated an actual, useful, generic TV remote with buttons that I could look at and know what they are for without guessing. (unlike the useless, non-intuitive, physical remote that came with the TV and had only a few buttons) Now the app is just as useless as the physical remote, just up / down arrows - what are they for? Volume? Channel change? No way to plug in a specific channel #? But thank goodness you made some space for advertising because we don’t see enough of that already… :( After 5-6 Vizio TV purchases, Vizio’s ‘minimalist’ remote controls is one of the reasons my most recent purchase was an LG. That and the constant messages interrupting my viewing to tell me that my TV can’t use my HDMI cable, requiring me to power off/on, sometimes multiple times, then navigating back to my program/recording. (The HDMI cable works fine) I guess as my Vizios die, they’ll all get replaced with other brands. And no, I won’t go enter this feedback on your website. I’m thinking if your job is to monitor this feedback, it’s probably also your job to pass this feedback to the proper persons throughout your company.

Remote Update. So I’ve had a Vizio tv for a while now and have been using the previous version of the app. The remote used a swipe instead of tap for the arrow functions (up,down, left, right) which was pretty hard to get used to but I ended up being comfortable with it. The new update removed that and has now gone to a tap instead of swipe. All which is fine and the interface seems less buggy. The only issue I am having with this is where the watchfree and home button are located. They are placed extremely close to the up and down arrows respectively. Since the update, when trying to search for something to watch on an app, I keep accidentally hitting the home button and watch free button which automatically takes you out of that app. It’s just a little frustrating when I feel those buttons could have easily been placed elsewhere. Other than that I have no qualms about the update as of yet and actually prefer it a little over the previous version. I would have easily given 5 stars had it not been for that small issue.

If it’s not broke…. I don’t think I’ve ever rated an app before, and if I have its very rare because I don’t give out my time for free. However, seeing as I use this app on a daily basis, the sudden upgrades have caused concern and is why I felt I must leave a review. My biggest issue is the loss of the central track pad. I don’t like clicking buttons one at a time and the track pad made it so effortless to use the app. It was without a doubt my favorite part. I don’t necessarily have a problem with the ad at the top as I’m watching tv…not the remote so it really doesn’t bother me. I do however miss the CC button… Something I’ve noticed during the previous update is when I use the “reboot” feature on the mobile app, it resets the entire tv and I have to dig out the original remote to set up the tv again. The main reason for using the mobile app is the lack of back light with the original remote. Yes we aren’t supposed to watch tv in the dark but I do and I can’t see what I’m hitting… This is me being knit-picky, but it would be nice if the keyboard feature was more universal. The delete button sometimes goes back a page or doesn’t type at all.

App review—needs improvement. I love the idea of controlling the tv via the app. A couple of problems. 1). Seems that the marking dept has inserted these movie ads on the control screen and if you are not very careful then you’ll be watching Cruel Summer on your phone whether you want to or not. It’s very annoying. Just keep it off the remote function tab please. 2). To make matters worse, the ad pushes down the other useful functions on the control and makes it so I can’t access the “back” function. So, I’ll have to reload, Prime for example, and start my search over again which definitely makes me not want to watch Cruel Summer, ever. Please, if nothing else, don’t push content to the point when it makes the app unusable. It defeats the purpose. Other than that, and I hope it gets fixed or I learn how to work around the lack of function :), I like this app and this it has potential. Thank you for reading my review.

Features would be nice if it worked reliably. Some basic functions just don’t work. Changing inputs kept cycling into some kind of permissions screen. Picture mode just refused to to anything. I set up the audio equalizer once, but then it disappeared and I can’t find it again. To be fair, part of the problem might be the actual tv which is terribly slow to respond to inputs from the remote or load the next screen in an app. The ability to access all the settings is nice. We misplace the remote often enough that I’ll probably keep it just to change channels and such on occasion.

Would be more useful if it could turn the tv on. Seems to do everything but turn the tv on. Once the tv is on you can do everything with this virtual remote. You can actually type searches on apps here faster that using the regular remote. Although just would be much more useful if it could turn the tv on as well. Like it would get more use. Why would I go grab the remote to turn on the tv then load this up on my phone once I already have the physical remote in my hand? Just unlikely. It is very useful when someone leaves it on though as I can turn it off from the other side of the house.

Visio & Smartcast is #1. After MANY flat screen purchases over the years(Toshiba, Sony, TCL, LG, Samsung-the worst BTW) I chose Visio for the specific reason of it’s smart TV software support and streaming capabilities. Integration of smartphone technology, Bluetooth capabilities and incredible variety of streaming platforms is what Visio offers that stands out from ALL other makers currently. You can stream SEAMLESSLY from any Bluetooth enabled device, in an instant, to Visio’s Smartcast interface. Pairing is a BREEZE, and my PC, laptop and phone all works together and is not restricted or reliant on CLUNKY APPS or OPERATING SYSTEMS. Get one! You will not regret it! The ease of use is simple and intuitive and user friendly for even a 60 something grandma like me!

Paid for an ad machine and not a tv.. My Visio app will not keep the favorites populated. It often won’t connect to the Sling app on the first up to the fourth try. The TV apps stall and watching anything on Sling is awful. There’s constant stoppages and it will skip ahead to commercials and cut off parts of the shows. I’ve had the shows completely disappear half way through. It will stall and after the commercials that play, a new show is playing. It’s not just the Sling app that constantly stalls. The commercials work perfectly, I wish the apps did. The adds for Disney+ and other apps come on frequently when I start the tv instead of the Home Screen on start up. The ads get stuck and it is difficult to get to the Home Screen. The surround sound won’t work with the tv. I’ve had support tell me to reset the tv which I’ve done many times, this takes so long! After the long reinstall, I have to go to all of my paid apps and reregister. This takes a long time and it’s so irritating that it doesn’t fix anything. The router is next to this tv. The tv on the other side of the house made by another manufacturer works great. I wish I chose another product, I’m patiently waiting until this tv dies to replace it. I bought a defunct ad machine, they should be paying me for having to view all of the none sense when I should be watching the tv.

Something is wrong with this version. I’ve usually had a good experience with this app for our tv with the exception occasionally disconnecting from the tv and having to delete it in the app and re-add but as of late the app shortcuts are not opening the correct apps. I have a 2.5 year old who loves Mickey and we try to get into Disney+ but it opens Comedy Dynamics. I thought it was a fluke but the same happened on my husband’s. I tried to find Comedy Dynamics to see if it had Disney+ but apparently it shows the app shortcut but isn’t available to me. It’s incredibly frustrating. My daughter loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but I do not. I’d prefer to watch something else but in order play it, I have to stream directly from my phone which means if I want to watch a video that was sent me, that video will take over my TV. Which my daughter doesn’t appreciate. 😅 Please fix this soon!

New Remote Design Is Useless. I guess I need a manual on how to use the new app design! It looks exactly like my actual TV remote which is useless most of the time as well! I loved the old app design - I could control everything I needed to, now I must be too dumb to use or understand how to use it to control my TV. I can control the volume and any smart app or input I want to…. But I just want to be able to change the dang channel! I have always had it paired with my TV and our Dish provider; I could operate all functions right from my iPhone. I just need the instructions on how to operate my TV (change the channels) on this stupid app! If I’m on channel 241 and want to change it to channel 3 - how do I do that from this updated app? There are no numbers!!! Yes I see there is a keypad option - but it will not change the channel on my TV - I have tried!!! Am I supposed to use the voice control? I don’t want to - I want to actually punch in the numbers!!!! I have read MOSTLY negative feedback about the new app design - why won’t you change it back and give us our previous functionality??!? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!!!!!”

Way Better Than Physical Remote!. I got this app after I lost my second physical remote (the first died for inexplicable reasons), and I'm never looking back. Both remotes would often not register presses. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is because there is a 1-2 second delay between pressing a button and the action happening. Even though the app registers every press and the delay might not sound like a lot, when you're typing a search term it's a little annoying. Love having access to the speech input Beta, even though it currently only processes simple terms/phrases like "home" and "go to [whatever streaming service]". My main feedback would be that searching for content brings you home even if you have an app currently open, whereas I'd prefer to search in-app.

Last update unusable. This last update is awful! I loved the app and now the new version doesn’t even show the entire remote. There are no options to change the layout and it doesn’t even fit on my screen. I have a iPhone 13 so it’s not an old version of hardware. I have no idea why the developers would remove so many aspects of the app that worked! If I could roll back I would but until they fix this, I have no way to even change the channel any more without the remote. Edit: this app does not work if you use the accessibility feature on your phone to zoom the apps and text. Every other app I use does not have an issue with this but this one does. I hope that Vizio will one day update their app for people that can’t see tiny icons and Text on their phones.

Great idea, iffy execution. Super grateful to have this similar to the concept of what you would have with an apple remote! It can be super convenient and easy to use! With that being said it definitely needs some further development as it rarely keeps me signed in which means i have to sign in multiple times a day sometimes and agree to terms each time when of course when watching tv you want everything to be as effecient as possible. Other than that for the most part I actually haven’t experienced any of the issues other reviews mention to my recollection BUT i also mainly just use it to easily navigate to tv ‘apps’ not so much for the remote function. I honestly have more issues with my vizio tv itself than this app. Overall, worth downloading could be better but could also be significantly worse

This is a pretty convenient app.. Listen, I have read a bunch of reviews about this app, and about eight times out of ten some crybaby is whining about the new remote design. It’s Vizio apps deal with it!! Anyways, that’s not my point. My actual point is this is a great app almost no bugs, smooth connection, and it’s easy to use! I don’t even see anything wrong with the new remote design (except the fact it’s hard to use the certain buttons on smaller phones) Heck, I love it! The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I put in the right account information it wont let me in so I have to make a whole new account I’m running out of emails and passwords man! Please fix that, but other than that keep up the great work!

Need to work the bugs out. While the remote front has been improved, the ads no longer interfere with the functions of the arrow or volume buttons. Work still needs to be done. A new issue has come up with the apps function. Every time you open the remote you have to re-save your favorites. They never seam to stick around. I might have one or two pop up but the rest have to be re-saved. The apps that do get saved are always different. Vizio if you need help beta testing before you release an update let me know. Or provide a place where we can let you know issues. This has been going on for about a month or two. I hate writing bad reviews just to get changes made.

Come on. I’ve had it with Vizio and most other electronics. My 50” Vizio is 3 yrs old and so glitchy. I’m constantly having to reboot it. Now the remote is barely working despite new batteries. I thought downloading their mobile remote would allow me to use my phone as a remote. Wrong. The set up is a pain. Quit assuming your customers are all tech savvy. It’s your freaking job to make your product user friendly. Having the remote on my phone turns off my ability to use my phone for connecting to the internet anywhere is. I guess my option is to spend $20 for a replacement remote that may or may not work. I’ve considered ditching this tv numerous times but it shouldn’t be in the landfill for after 3 yrs of use. My old 32” Vizio works fine. Something went wrong with Vizio in the last few years.

Works okay most of the time.. Often completely loses ability to manage devices without a reset of the device. Probably not a app issue, but speaks to the compatibility of the device firmware not completely being in line with the app. Constantly having to log back into the app. Recent firmware updates on Vizio removed the ability to set a default input forcing you to power on at the smartcast screen; forcing a user to use your Smartcast input, probably as a way to monetize after a user has purchased your product, is a dealbreaker for me. Going to choose a different vendor for my next TV. Shame on you Vizio.

a glitch and a couple suggestions. overall the app works great. needed it to use as a literal remote since our physical buttons tend to become hard to use very quickly. however, today the app glitched. went to turn the volume up from about 20 to 45, and apparently i pressed the button too many times because it ended up continuing to raise the volume. it continued well past however many times i’d pressed the button. my dad and i tried to stop it for a couple minutes. i continuously pressed the lower button volume on the app, and my dad kept pressing mute, but to no avail. it only stopped when i closed the app. i went to look around for a place to report a bug and there’s nothing that i could find, so there’s my main suggestion: an easily accessible place in the app to report bugs such as these. it’d also be nice to hold down the volume buttons instead of tapping over and over :P feel like maybe it’d help a little bit in preventing this bug.

Extremely disgusted with recent versions of this app. The remote that came with the Vizio TV is worthless… can’t even navigate the SmartCast screen with it, so you’re forced to use the application on your phone… previous versions from several months ago seemed to work ok, it for the last month, once I get the app hooked up to the TV, it’ll work ok for a few days, but then the app loses connection with the TV and it’s nearly impossible to get reconnected. Again, since the “factory” remote has nearly no functions on it, it’s not like I can do anything to reset the network connection on the TV but it seems to indicate that it is hooked up to my wireless network. Extremely frustrating… I’m not sure what you changed but please change it back… can’t use any of the streaming apps on my TV without a ton of hassle or just getting so frustrated I just give up.

Mostly Useless. About 90% of the time, the remote control function is useless. Most times the app will just display a cached input and buttons will simply not respond. In various futile attempts to fix this, I’ve tried disconnecting the app from my TV, clearing my phone from known devices on my TV, and then pairing the app with my TV again. Sometimes the app and the TV will actually pair again, but the remote control functionality won’t necessarily be fixed when this happens. Other times the TV simply doesn’t show up when the app searches for wireless devices to connect to. Doesn’t matter that my phone and the TV are in the same Wi-Fi network and the same 2.4 or 5GHz band in that network. Complete unreliable garbage. For years and after many updates. Won’t be bothering anymore. Would give less than 1 star if I could.

About the new update. New update recently remade the remote design. “Now easier to use with one hand.” Wow. This update was a massive step back. I loved the old design because it allowed me to swipe in whatever direction instead of having to look at my phone, tap, right, for example, and then look back at the tv. I can move in any direction and hit ok without looking at my phone. The new update also removes some buttons. No clue where they went and why they thought removing buttons would make it “easier to use with one hand.” Worst of all, they added promotions on the actual remote itself. Like what… How does a company stoop so low that they add ads on the remote itself. Sounds petty but there’s an entire section for promotions like that. But they decided to put the promotions on the remote section as well? Respectfully, do you think doing that will bring more attention? This app was beautiful. Didn’t always work perfectly but having a remote in my pocket was definitely worth it. But they’re slowly turning into those third party apps that force you to watch ads. In conclusion.. the update led me to the conclusion that Vizio thinks their consumers are idiots. Yes, idiots. The prmotional stuff on the remote is horrendous but I also understand they need to make some revenue. But remodeling the remote itself, and removing some buttons? BRING BACK THE SWIPING FEATURE. Removing that definitely hit hard.

I have not had the same problems as everyone else. This app works perfectly I haven’t had any problems with it, one of the greatest things about it is that if one of your family members is watching something and they leave the room you can change the channel without having to go on a hunt for the remote like it is a rare animal or something. There is no free trial for this app either so it is not like those other remote apps that only allow you to use any button by paying, there is one problem though I don’t know if it is like just the iPhone 13 but some of the buttons are at the bottom of the screen snd it will not allow me to scroll down although there is a little bit of the buttons showing so when I tap it i have to be extra careful about where I am tapping

Enjoyed it at first. I just got my new Vizio tv last week and all was good until they updated the app design. I was able to swipe directionally on the mobile app and it was really convienent and then 2 days ago they changed the design so you have to look at your phone and tap the direction you want to go instead. It’s a step back the old layout functioned better and I wasn’t pressing the wrong directions. This may be unrelated or other people may be experiencing this too but last night with the new design it unpaired my app with the tv I’ve been trying to re pair the two for over and hour and I had it done in 10 minutes when I initially bought the tv a week prior. So with re connecting my tv to my mobile device and the new annoying tap instead of swipe just brought my functionality down to a 0 and a part of why I wanted Vizio so badly was for its mobile app which is now lame.

Love it except for one thing…. This mobile remote is very useful and solves lots of problems when u can’t find ur remote. I’m a big fan of how easy it is to set it up & connect to my tv, except for one really annoying thing. I’ll be using my mobile remote when it just out of the blue stops working. I have to literally delete the app and restart it all and connect it back with my tv everytime. It’s beyond annoying. It still says it’s connected to my tv on the app on my phone, but it won’t respond to any buttons that I push on it or anything. If we could fix this problem, id give them 5 stars all the way

UPDATE GARBAGE. Update GarbageI agree ! ONLY THE 5TH TIMEat least IVE BEEN HERE TO FIGURE THIS BUG OUT since the update! I just happen to read anothers review, on an iPhone if you have a display set to zoom, you cannot see the volume up and down I just happened to see the pictures of the update on your App Store pictures that’s NOT what my phone looks like! Wow I thought you were tech people doing tech things what the heck tech update tech people no tech? Not only in the volume and not being able to see it but I can’t control my display like I used to be able to do. I used to be able to set the brightness on my television or whatever else I wanted to set on my picture or my sound I don’t know where that is. I don’t see it anywhere, it disappeared, like it got worse! How do you get worse after an update??

If you’re looking to buy Vizio.. Don’t.. Countless issues on issues. Whether it’s the Vizio app, my Vizio 2020 V-series or my Vizio surround sound system. Let’s start with the app. I am constantly having to reconnect my devices. Most of the time there is a connection issue and the app is unusable. Not allowing me to change ANY setting on my tv or sound system. When I am able to change the settings, it is VERY glitchy. The bars will stutter back and forth. The tv itself is a great. 70in, great quality. But having to connect it to the app constantly is extremely frustrating. Even with a remote, I am constantly having issues. When I turn the volume up, the back button clicks. When I turn the volume up, the volume turns down. When I try to rewind on a show, the volume changes rather than rewinding. The surround system itself is also great. Crisp and loud. But when pairing, which is constant. There is a EXTREMELY loud connecting noise that shakes the entire room if not pressed quick enough. The volume will CONSTANTLY turning itself to FULL volume if turned up through the app.

ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS UPDATE. One of the main reasons I used this app instead of my actual remote is because it had the ability to fast rewind or forward 2x/3x/4x etc - vs the remote that came with my tv that only has the regular stupid {10 seconds only unless you press it down the whole time 🙄} arrow buttons. I truly despise whoever designed these remotes because they didn’t give us double arrow buttons. And NOW Vizio has removed the double arrow buttons so I can’t fast rewind/forward from the app either???! ANNOYING!! I will be deleting this app now and finding another one that actually caters to its users. The only reason why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the mobile remote app still works faster than my physical remote LOL bye Felicia! ✌🏼

A few functionality issues. This app works fine until they change something which completely screws up the app. This happens semi-frequently, enough to be annoying, but not enough to stop using the app. Although I will say, I do like the idea of a remote on your phone instead of having to search for the physical remote every time (which I usually cannot find). However, that doesn’t take away from the flaws this app has. Multiple times, when I open the app, it immediately closes, and this goes on for about 2-3 times. In addition (and this is VERY annoying) some of my ‘favorite’ apps DISAPPEAR and I have to re-add them EVERY TIME. For example, I currently have 7 ‘favorite’ apps. When I re-enter the app, 4 of them will have been ‘un-favorited’ and I have to go back to re-favorite them.

Great but huge glitch devs missed. I’ve used this app for a couple of years now, it had its less than great moments but overall it’s been pretty consistent and reliable. I’m using it with a Vizio who’s remote went kaput. The one thing devs need to work on is how to access the menu when router password has been updated. I had to reset my router and password, unfortunately there’s no way to connect to the TV to update the password since app and TV have to be on same wifi 🥴 Update: you can plug a wireless keyboard into your tv and enter the password that way 😉

Waste of time. The app doesn't work with my soundbar. It only worked once. Wasted time troubleshooting the issue. I can add the soundbar but the app will not sync with it once it is added.

Purposeless. Waste of an app in Canaduh. Can even Visio tell Us what it's good for here in Eskimo country? Regret buying the TV but Costco will save the day with its amazing return policy.

Does not work on brand new d series tv. Not happy. Bought a brand new d series tv 4K smart tv and it is not smart enough to cast. I even called your customer service people and they said it should work!!! Later read online that it won't with d series. You people don't even know your own product! Yes my router is 'seeing it' Totally tech savvy family.

Good start but buggy. I like how this version lets me tap once to go to apps rather than having to navigate the screen with arrow keys. Unfortunately the app is confused about what apps are available on my TV. It claims AppleTV is not available, so I’m forced to navigate to it the slow way. That’s rather frustrating, but if the little things like that are fixed this would be a much better alternative to using the remote.

Works with tv not so much with sound bar. I have successfully used this app with my Vizio SmartCast tv and like it. The remote interface is kinda plain and feels like a rushed design. Some button have no use at all for example the channel buttons as the tv doesn’t have a tuner built in anyway. I also have a Vizio smartcast 5.1 surround sound bar and it rarely works with the app. I can add the device and control it but only for a short period of time. Eventually the app will drop it and I will have to add it again. This happens almost daily making it a bit frustrating to even want to use the app to control it. Some controls seem to not initialize unless you hit them a few times. The toggles for truesound and night mode have to be turned off,on,off then on again before they actually work. I like the idea of this app but since it’s not fully working and could use a better remote control UI I give it a 2.

Stopped working with soundbar. Cannot connect anymore to the soundbar after update to the app. Useless. Vizio products give too much headaches. Plenty of bugs everywhere.

Very easy to use. There is very slight delay when using the app, but other than that it’s a great way to control your TV!

FlaBOYant!. So GOURD

Smooth. The haptic feedback on the smartphone experience makes ffwd and revs so, so smooth. I enjoy the app more than the remote, although I love still having the comfort of a remote.

Love it!!! Let the kids fight over the remote… I have my own. Boom!!! Mic Drop

It just works. I use my iPhone 11 as a remote control and it does everything that it’s supposed to do with added features. Great app

Great pairing very fast. Great product

Does not work at all! Worst app ever. Tried many time to use it. Recognize my sound bar, but unable to sync with it once the process completed!

New update. It’s sucks apps don’t work anymore

Update. Cannot connect to TV. App crashes / closes.

Need Canada settings. App works well with the TV. Only issue is that for Canadian users most of the casting apps referenced are not usable here. Would be nice if it had a Canada mode.

Great. I love the app works great for my setup, makes it real easy to setup and use. Thanks

Two Major flaw(s). Something happened to the radio receiver on my television so my handheld remote would not work and my universal remote would also not work. So, I got the app… Got it set up and it worked fine. When it was time to go to bed I thought I would try to reboot of the television. I selected reboot… But instead of doing a reboot, it did a factory reset. I did not accidentally select factory reset, which was another option. I absolutely selected reboot and it asked me if I wanted to reboot. The factory reset immediately disabled the app from controlling the television and it was impossible to set it up again without first setting up the television. The only problem was I could not do that because the handheld remote was not working, and the minimal buttons on the back of the television did not work for the factory reset menu. As luck would have it, once the reset restarted the television a few times, it must’ve reset the radio signal receiver, and the handheld remote worked again, and with that I was able to set up the television again, and once it was set up I was able to connect the television to the app. It would be nice if the app could be used in the absence of a handheld remote and when the television had been reset. This seems to be a no-brainer. And it would also be nice if the television reboot did a television reboot… Like it does from the set up menu on the television. Instead of doing a full factory reset. If I didn’t get extremely lucky here I would’ve been totally screwed and unable to use my television without undergoing a time consuming and expensive servicing to replace the radio receiver for the hand held remote. It was only by blind luck but the receiver reset itself from the factory reset.

Bypassing my app review preferences is a auto 1 star. In app ratings and reviews are turned off in my iOS preferences. Bypassing these preferences will make me choose “I love it” for feedback so I can give you a 1 star. Also the 5 star reviews are the fakest thing I’ve seen in my life the app itself is pretty awful it takes an hour to sync to the soundbar with tons of bugs. 4.5star average review LOL. Still I wouldn’t have left this review if you didn’t prompt me too. I bet some incompetent manager is responsible for that decision.

App doesn't work. Paired my sound bar with success and after that the app won't work anymore. The app shows up and then close abruptly. Removed and reinstalled... Nothing changes. There is no way to make it work. Just crap.

Make an Apple Watch app. It is a really good app, but there is only one problem this app does not work with my Apple Watch, I always try to find a app that controls my Vizio tv with my Apple Watch but I cannot find it. So can you pls make this app work with Apple Watch Series 7 so I can use my watch to control my tv. Other than that this app is very useful.

Can’t use app to turn the TV on. The app can’t be used to turn my Smart TV on, have to do it manually before use.

No full remote. Why would you take away the full remote options? You can't turn off the tv anymore...

I love it now if I loose my remote I can use this. Love it

Not great. My dog ate the original remote so I got this app. It takes forever to connect to the sound bar, if it connects at all and the delay after pressing the button is so bad that I’m fighting with the volume all the time!

Horrible New Design - Doesn’t Work w Zoomed Display. This new app design does not work very well with iPhone 13 (6.1”) with the display set to Zoom setting. Several buttons are hidden or unusable when your Home Screen is set to zoom Vizio programmers need to fix this

Bring back the old version!. New version does not work with my soundbar. I personally don’t like new format/layout. Particularly the image for shows that takes up the top of the remote. If I could downgrade I would give this app a 4 almost 5 star rating (only bad thing was that it wasn’t the fastest app in the world, but I can wait 5 seconds so didn’t bug me too much)

Sucks. Sucks

Good. Very useful app

New version with less function. You should still offer a button for full remote functions! Thanks!

Would be good…but it’s not. I hate the login process…every time you use the app it makes you go through an inconvenient login process…it takes too long to get into. Once you are in it’s fine.

Works most of the time. Signs me out regularly. When I open it, it stops anything currently being airplayed. Other than that, I can generally successfully control my Soundbar volume.

Horrible update. That’s surely one way to force people to buy new equipment. Doesn’t seem to be compatible with my current 5.1.2 soundbar, just crashes since the new app version. Support doesn’t seem to care either, guess you’ll get what you pay for. Update: I found out what makes this new app version crash … the following URL needs to be whitelisted in your ad blocker / pihole / nextdns. After that it works fine, remove blanks: vid-io-iad .springserve . com

Works flawlessly even when my real remote doesn’t.. Great backup.

No longer connects to my SB3651-E6 soundbar. Was working alright before the most recent updates, now the app doesn't connect to the soundbar.

Meh!. It's not horrible but prefer the old format with the big touchpad. Plus the screenshot taking up the upper third of the screen is a waste of space that could be used for other function buttons... like a power on/off button.

Doesn’t Work!. The last update worked sporadically- this one is worse! Why did I update? Fool to think it would work better. Upgraded from older app and won’t work with soundbar - leaving me with the crappy remote sold with the 5.1.2 soundbar and no decent way to access the sound bar.😖

This app has NEVER worked. Had this soundbar for years and this app works like MAYBE 5% of the time. Just useless

Rarely works. Cannot keep a connection to the tv. I almost always have to remove and redownload the app to make it connect to the tv. Next one won’t be a Vizio.

Excellent. Very Nice Product easy to use and very well made!

App crashes immediately. After the latest update, the app immediately crashes before even loading the main screen. How did this get released??

Works great when the remote has gone missing. Work as good if not better than the real remote

Tv randomly turns on!. Ever since I downloaded recent update my Vizio SmartCast E65-E1 keeps randomly turning on!

App doesn’t work now. The app used to work ok but now that I’ve updated it i cannot connect to my soundbar, please fix your software

Dumb home button. Why? Why would you put the home button right above the volume buttons? It constantly gets hit when I’m lowering the volume. Such a bad place to put it. Move it somewhere else!

Why. Would be fine if it didn’t sign me out every other time I tried to use it. Why do I need to sign into an account at all? Keyboard function saves some time searching netflix, prime etc.

Doc. Awesome 👌

Connection issues with sound at. No longer connects to my spud at after the latest update.

Not Connecting. Doesn’t work don’t waste your time

No longer investing in Vizio. Tv came with a broken remote, ordered a new remote. Finally arrives a month later come to find out it’s broken too. Ordered a third that never arrived so I downloaded the app. I set up an account, to be promptly booted from the app and logged out. When I log back in, it only stays logged in while I’m active. It logs me out every time I switch apps or lock my phone/tablet. Takes at least 20 minutes to pair to my tv the first time I used it. Now I’m lucky if it even registers the devices exist. And when it does, despite having different named tvs in the house, it never fails to connect to the wrong one. In the few and far between moments the app does function and connects to the correct tv, it is slow to respond to the controls if it registers them at all. It often maxes out the volume when I only click the button once. The home button has only worked once in the years I’ve had the app. There are so many never ending glitches! My tv has 4 buttons on it, what’s the point in investing in technology that I can’t use?

How is this app rated so high?. Have had nothing but problems since day 1. Don’t get me wrong, I like having the option of using my phone as a remote but this app doesn’t even know when the TV is on. I’m staring at the TV being in a clear ON state and the app is telling me it’s off. That’s pretty bad. Also, why do I have to be on the same WiFi network for the app to see my TV now? All of my other WiFi devices like WeMo, Arlo, SleepNumber, et al are all usable regardless of location. I bought the TV, when it works it’s great but I’d like to stash the remote that came with it and just use my phone…but I can’t yet because it’s, for the most part, unusable.

The volume button seems to stick a lot. When I try to raise the volume it tends to stick and raise the volume of the tv to the max and when I try to lower the volume it lowers it to where I can’t hear anything at all. It happens a lot when using the app or remote. The other thing that bugs me is the terms and conditions message pop up that pops up when using the app as a remote and it causes a device error so I have to close the app completely and then reopen it to fix the problem. It’s becoming a problem.

Just can’t get it right. Every update I am hopeful for something that works, I’ve now lost hope. I paid almost $1000 from a sound bar and got passed the fact that it was a Vizio. I’ve never been able to effectively use this application for my Vizio Elevate on a consistent basis. It started to work a few months back with an update and a lot of loading, but with the most recent update it doesn’t work at all anymore. This is definitely my last Vizio product as the app doesn’t work with my Vizio TV either. Just pay the extra money to get an equivalent product from a reputable brand like Sony, Samsung, or LG. Also, can you tell me why this app has Ads? That’s pathetic.

Best app ever !. My dog ended up breaking my actual remote to my Vizio tv. Instead of buying a new one I decided to check for a cheaper one online when I seen there was app , so I highly recommend it. The only issue I had with it is that sometimes it will disconnect from my tv but I think it was just a glitch because it hasn’t done it anymore and it could take up just a little of Storage. But I absolutely love this app it makes it so much easier to control the tv without a remote so you don’t spend money.

Needs ANOTHER Update. You need to accommodate for zoomed in text view on iphone. this app should still have the buttons visible when enabled. Its unusable if you have vision problems and need larger text for general use. Also stop deleting negative reviews, you should listen to constructive criticism. --edit-- I don’t know if you were trying to fix this problem with the most recent update, but now it’s totally non-functional-- you can’t even sign in. It just loads for a second and stops like there was no user input. Sometimes it just loads forever. You can literally walk away, come back, and nothing has happened. Uninstalled and now looking for a different remote app.

New UI for remote app worse. This new user interface of the Vizio remote app is definitely worse than it was before the update. I can no longer pull up a menu on my tv. It only appears on the remote. I can no longer switch between the mobile interface and the traditional remote interface like before. It has been oversimplified. Need to add missing features back. I like to see my display settings menu for instance, pop up in the tv itself like normal. Now I can only see the adjustment controls on my phone. Please stop fixing things that aren’t broken. I liked it before. I should have never deleted and reinstalled the app.

Constantly have to add Favorites back. I would give this app 4 stars as it’s a big help when I can’t find my TV remote after it falls between couch cushions or ends up under something. But I had to give 3 stars because of having to go back in to re-add favorite apps back to the favorites tab every couple of weeks it seems. I will have all of the favorite apps used added and randomly also after every update I will end up with only 5 listed and its never the same 5 either. Please fix whatever bug there is that clears the favorite apps listed!

has issue with viewing buttons. I would like to say I use this app a lot and it works and I prefer it to my physical remote, but I hate that I cannot see the bottom portion of remote so I cannot use volume buttons. I’m not sure why but on my phone no matter what I do erase reinstall or try updating it never able to see the volume buttons. However on my wife’s phone the app works normal and I can see all the buttons. Me and my wife are both on iPhone 13 Pro

Love this app. Love the app has everything I need remote basically unnecessary at this point and I love how they give u recommended movies in the back pretty cool the only thing I ask is if you could add the boomerang app tbh a big old cartoon fan and the only way for me to stream is from boomerang app itself not sure if it’s like steps u have to go theree but I can do with out just would make it easy to stream from this app with all my others

A flailing step backwards. I feel silly writing reviews for things, especially negative ones. I generally don’t care enough. This app though, when I got it I was so impressed with the functionality of it compared to every other virtual remote I’ve ever had to use that I repeatedly geeked out to my spouse over features that made it simply perfect. This latest update seriously bummed me out. Half the page is an advertisement for WatchFree+ and most of the functionality is removed. I feel really dumb to be so let down by this but I have ADHD tendencies and I lose my remote a lot and this virtual remote was such a welcome change that made it fine that the remote was gone.

USB playback for MP4. The TV is good thus far. Connecting wasn't an issue. However utilizing the USB port isn't friendly. Have a 8g thumb drive with about 8 movies on it. When I plug it in it plays the first one in the list. However there is no function to view menu or to select another file. Also it will only play right after you plug it in. I have another Vizio TV that will give you the option and view media files and is very friendly. There must be a function to do the same thing or an update to the app to allow it if not already allowed. Has anyone else run into this issue????

Never works more than an hour or so. This app literally never works. As stated in many reviews it only works a few times and then no longer connects. Because the incredibly fragile remote broke I only have my phone for now. I have to delete the app and retry but almost always have to unplug the tv and restart it. Even when I had my remote I would have to reboot the TV often to get it to reconnect to WI-FI. I have the 65 inch M-Series Quantum only 2 months old. And my phone is the IPhone 13 ProMax. Seems Vizio is more interested in deflecting accountability and referring to a help section that doesn’t negate their many flaws instead of actually addressing them.

Vizio. Of all the remote controls I’ve tried including LED and other universal remotes on my phone are all made poorly the device already has to be on for it to work or there’s always some sort of little inconvenience that kinda makes the app useless this one however works just like a tv remote the way it should and my tv doesn’t have to already be on I can turn it on through the app I love it!!

Read then download. So this app is AMAZING it’s so useful because when I can’t find the remote. But here’s the thing sometimes it won’t work idk why but it won’t work so I have to exit all my apps but other than that it’s amazing I suggest you get this if you lose the remote a lot. But once when I was using the app I was turning up the volume and it kept turning up the T.V, I panicked but then I turned off the T.V. That was my main problem with the app. But I highly suggest this app if you’re like me and lose the remote 24/7. 😂

This stupid app won’t let me sign back in.. I was just using this app a couple hours ago, and now it signed me out and won’t let me back in. I tried signing in and it told me it was temporarily locked, because I had too many failed sign-in attempts. I made one attempt… It’s absurd how bad Vizio is at everything they do. Your TVs are junk. Your sound systems have tons of connection problems. And your app has bug after bug after bug. I will never bother with this junk company again, and I make sure to tell everyone I know to spend the extra money and go with a brand that actually makes good products, because you really do get what you pay for with Vizio.

Great! Just one or two small bugs I noticed. It’s overall amazing and is a great save if I can’t find my remote (or I’m too lazy to reach for it). Howeverrrr, I’ve noticed just a couple things- Whenever I tap the volume button several times, it often glitches and starts spamming the button on its own and turns my tv volume either all the way up or down. I noticed a small other bug where my favorited streaming services all get unfavorited randomly, but that doesn’t pose as much concern to me. It’s perfect overall and is worth it

Works okay. Sometimes the buttons don’t work and I have to turn my phone off and on to get them to. And the pop ups are really irritating. When a new show goes on a streaming site sometimes a pop up will happen and it won’t let me leave it unless I click on it and then I have to go back out and find the app I want, some of the show apps don’t work very well on my tv and it can be a hassle to turn everything off just to get back to the Home Screen. Other then that it works fine

From 5 to 1 on newest version. So disappointed with the change, I’ve been using the app almost exclusively to control my tv for over a year. They new middle circle rocker eliminated the swipe feature, on an iPhone XL screen the buttons are so close now I must look at the phone in order to not hit the enter button. I’ve been using it for a few days now and I keep hitting the enter button instead of the side to side or up to down. They took an app layout and made it impossible to not use 2 hands and forced you to look at the phone. I’m putting batteries in my dead remote as we speak. Sorry but need the attention of one star so please change it back or keep one stars.

Confused. In my review of the Vizio mobile app on iOS, one notable issue is the lack of a “Back” or “Return” button within the app’s interface. While the “Home” button serves as a way to return to the main screen, it becomes frustrating and confusing when users find themselves stuck on a screen within the app with no apparent exit option. This absence of a dedicated back or return function can hinder the overall user experience and may lead to user frustration. It would be beneficial for Vizio to consider implementing a more intuitive navigation system to address this usability concern and improve the app’s user-friendliness.

LOVE IT!!!

Few glitches but overall not bad. This remote app overall isn’t terrible, it gets the job done, it’s buttons are slightly delayed, but not too much, and you can activate all apps with one button press. The only problem I have with it is it’s volume buttons, sometimes when I hold either button it glitches out and continues to raise or lower the volume, and there’s really nothing I can do but turn off the tv entirely, it gets very annoying when I’m trying to watch something and I want the volume up a bit. I think this might be an issue on my side, but if it isn’t can you please fix this bug? Thank you for your time.

Recent update removed functionality. This app worked reasonably well before, when it functioned essentially as a virtual version of a fully-featured remote. This was pretty useful because the remote that came with my TV, strangely, doesn’t have a menu button. With the recent update, the app is just as barren as my physical remote. I have essentially no way to access my TV’s on-screen menu now. I assume that this design change was driven by someone a few pay grades higher than the core team of developers (probably to drive engagement on their Smartcast feed or whatever), but it’s still disappointing.

Volume buttons. I love this app! I’ve had a few different ones for my tv, but this one has consistently worked with my tv! I do have one issue though, when I try to turn my volume up and down it will say I’ve hit the buttons more times then I have and continuously turns my volume up or down even after closing the app… and there’s no way on the app to get it to stop, like if I turn it up and it gets “stuck” I can hit the volume down button, or any other button, to stop it from happening.

Useful app but…. This app is a great replacement for the physical remote control. Especially when the remote wants to play hide and seek. It works well on my multiple Vizio smart tvs. I have to say though I am not a fan of this new update. I don’t like the huge banner ad that’s now at the top of the remote. One of the reasons I liked this app was because of the clean, sleek and minimalist design. This updated version takes away the play, rewind and fast forward button which was a very useful feature in my opinion. Sigh…always changing a good thing.

Sound fail!. My remote app always has a sound glitch! If I try to turn the volume up. It consistently keeps tapping up and won’t stop - same as lowering the volume. I have to use the app for my tv as my tv didn’t come with a remote, but instead told us that we needed to use this app. I have removed the app and downloaded the app again multiple times. Even when I get out of the app I can feel the tapping vibration on my phone from the volume button constantly changing! This is very frustrating! Please correct this issue

Second review. This is my second review I used this app before about 3 years ago and then it was completely awful and totally unusable. It would take 30 minutes to do anything on fast internet connection. But now this app is really working almost perfectly. It has same lag from time to time but that could be my network. It’s very user friendly and honestly better than some of the other mobile control apps. Great job turning this app around.

Visio mobile. Top 10 for me and this app!! My puppy got a hold of my remote for my Visio TV the other day and I couldn’t even turn my tv off or on. It was crazy!! So I looked it up for my Visio tv and I found this mobile app and I have not put it down every since. Much faster and many more short cuts to the app that are available on my Visio smart tv and all kinds of things. So really love it and will be using this remote on my phone from now on. No more worrying about the puppy chewing up remotes!! Lol. Just have to worry about my arms and my flip flops!! Lol!!

Needs some work. I really love the Vizio app, bringing my viewing experience all into one place. One thing though, it seems to have some glitches. At times, the TV set won’t come on right away, or go off right away, and sometimes when I try to get into Tubi, it does a weird thing where it just continues going in and coming out of it but allowing me to actually watch. This may not make sense but if it’s happened to you, you’ll know what I’m saying. Otherwise, I really do like the Vizio app/TV.

Amazing. This app absolutely saved my life. I am constantly losing my tv remote and all I had to do was pair it (which happened very quickly) and boom I could use it. To be honest all I really wanted to do was turn the volume up and down and this app did a fantastic job at making a remote. I will be using it in the future for other things. Only problem I got with this is it calls my PlayStation a Xbox. Besides that great app.

Love it. broke my control and haven’t got a new one for over a year because i don’t care for it and i started getting annoyed that i had to get up and turn off the tv and changing the setting for my ps4 so when i found this app i was like are you freaking kidding me this whole time i could’ve just used this app instead of getting up and turning off the tv while being comfortable?!!??!!? life saver !!!!!

Awesome app!. Works really well. If you lost or can't afford a remote just get this app for your Vizio TV! Sometimes I find it easier than a real remote, considering you can favorite apps and go straight to them. The features are easy, and there isn't anything not to love, except for maybe how it can get hard for it to connect, that's it though. So download this! Trust it! I know you will not regret your decision! Lol. Seem like a bot? I'm not! I'm being fully truthful. To prove I'm not a bot, here, I'LL PUT THIS FREAKING EMOJI 🧌

Download NOW!. My Husband & I decided to download this app after about 5 months of fighting with our VIZIO TV to zero avail. Our remote had been through the works, having to glue it together a few times, until finally we found this app! Life changing! Instead of spending money we didn’t have on a universal remote in hopes of it working probably, we decided to invest nothing into something. You should too! We haven’t looked back since. Download NOW!

Had less trouble with previous iteration (Smartcast). I like the premise and even previously had successful use with the Smartcast app, but using this app in particular (having not been able to find and redownload Smartcast) has brought much confusion in changing my picture settings in particular. changing one setting makes all the other dials move in seemingly random ways and I can’t even figure out how to keep it where I want it as it just keeps jumping to higher and lower settings. I’m not sure if others are having this problem, but it is borderline unusable for me

Works great 95% of the time. App works well with my tv when I’m using it, quickly changes channels, adjusts volume, and switches between sources with ease. It’s great till I stop using my tv and the app for the night, when I go to use it the next day it’s signed me out of the app and I have to resign in and re agree to the terms an conditions and wait for the app to reconnect to my tv. It’s not the worse thing in the world it’s just an inconvenience every single day with you have to resign in over an over.

Continue the experience. Since I had my Vizio, it has been the best experience thus far. Having my favorite apps on demand has been life-changing. The layout of the screen is very easy on the eyes. Giving the user access to the latest additions to the Home Screen; whether it’s movies, tv shows, documentaries, and even anime. Other apps to choose from if the apps you already have doesn’t provide things that you may like to watch. Keep bringing the innovation and the experience 👍

Glitchy app continues to have issue. App has made some improvements however the volume glitch is really annoying and the key lard search doesn’t work in all apps. I went to turn the volume up from about 20 to 45, and apparently i pressed the button too many times because it ended up continuing to raise the volume. it continued well past however many times i'd pressed the button. my dad and i tried to stop it for a couple minutes. i continuously pressed the lower button volume on the app, and my dad kept pressing mute, but to no avail. it only stopped when i closed the app.

Not worth it. I’ve recently moved and packed my physical remote. Now while its in storage I either use the app or my grandma’s living room remote. I recently lost the physical remote so I had to re-download the app and I hate it. I literally have to leave the room for it to even find my tv and it only stays connected for about 3/4 minutes. So imagine getting up every so often to walk and reconnect your tv. Update; So the remote stayed connected long enough so I could add my tv to my “Devices & TVs” in the app. I haven’t had any issues with disconnecting so far.

Soundbar is great, this app though… 🤬. Like the Vizio soundbar, but honestly I have had nothing but frustration from using this app. Each update seems to bring a new way to break things. The latest update almost always shows “soundbar not reachable” for 15 -20 seconds, despite the fact it is on, connected to WiFi, and was just connected with the app minutes ago. When it finally resolves that issue, the volume buttons don’t adjust the volume. All other functions of the app working, but I have to switch the input source to something else, wait, then switch it back to the correct source to get the volume to adjust.
