Bad. I started the process of creating an account by entering an e-mail, then continued by paying with ApplePay, never creating a password for Starz during sign up. I could not sign in with Apple on the app, an invalid message appears. Then I try adding an option to sign in with Apple in browser, where I am signed in to Starz, and it asks me to enter my password in order to add Apple sign in option, which I could not possibly know because I never created a password. I tried the "forgot password" option to re-set, and their re-set link in the e-mail just takes me to the Starz homepage. Tried twice, neither e-mail worked. Wrote to customer support and they said they can't access my password (so assuming they don't really understand this problem/issue with their software) and suggested to "check my spam folder"? or cancel my subscription. Needless to say, I did the latter. Sad to see almost all their recent reviews also bad but for different reasons, would hope to see some of the better shows available on a good app. Hope future subscribee's don't get swindled but who thinks to check reviews before buying a teevee app? 🫤

App Review, Not Content (device iPad Pro). First, the app content is good. My issue/frustration is with the functionality of the app itself. My biggest pain point (and it’s a big one for me) is that the app times out quickly and the video closes, especially whenever my iPad screen times out. So, say I hit Pause on a video for more than a minute or two and/or step away from my iPad long enough for the screen to lock, when I return, I have to reopen STARZ, and re-navigate to the video I was watching from the STARZ home screen. This also occurs when I switch between apps. Whenever STARZ is temporarily moved to the background, I have to search all over again. This is the only app I’ve encountered that does this, making it especially noticeable. Also, other apps have the PIP “drawer” functionality where you can slide a video off screen and return to it. This is not the case in STARZ... the video disappears, and again, if it has been a significant amount of time, I have to re-navigate back. It’d be nice to have quicker access to the main menus, and to time out on the active content’s description screen (but keep the video window open if in PIP mode).

Outlander on film. Beautifully done! I’m amazed how so many of the original story lines have been twisted around to fit the screen. I am pleased with the selection of the characters in the story. In my imagination I pictured the characters a little different but as the story continues I can’t imagine anyone else having the ability to portray Jamie and Claire as does Catriona and Sam! Very pleased to be watching this series and Bravo to Diana Gabaldon because although I’ve always been entranced by the the stories of the Highlanders, ( from Karen Marie Moning too), I never knew the history of the Scotts and the history that followed the battle of Culloden. The service of indentured soldiers and bondsmen were a mystery to me. I have a greater appreciation of History as the story unfolds. Thank you STARZ!

Review. This is my third time to watch. And in about a month, …….I’ll do it all again!!! I feel each character has been beautifully chosen, perfect in their roles. I have always been proud of my Scottish heritage, but the show has given me a new appreciation of her history and natural beauty. You’ve put Scotland on the top of my “to go” list. I do have one small thing that is bothersome to me however (probably just my OCD😊). I wish Briana had blue-eyes like her parents, not brown-eyed like Frank. Regardless, she is a beautiful girl who does a wonderful job. I now, I am anxiously awaiting next season. It proves we are never too old for a good love story; and Outlander is certainly that! Thank you.

Welp. Good content. Lots to see. Frustrations: constant buffering when connected to chromecast, which is how I primarily use the app. Now, as of today I no longer have the cast button on the lower portion of my screen. It does show up when I play a video, but it tells me that I’m not connected to my local area network, which i am. I’ve even looked at iOS settings for the app and found out that i don’t have the option to allow my local area connection?! I use my chromecast for all of my streaming apps when I’m home and all work. I’ve even reinstalled the app in my phone 2xs and still nothing. Update: got an email back: Our developers are currently working hard to tackle this issue. Unfortunately, we are expecting this to be resolved shortly, however, we cannot provide an exact ETA for this resolution. We have attached your case to the larger issue and are closing this ticket. However, when the problem is resolved, we will reach out to you and let you know.

I’m in LOVE. I’m so used to movie company’s that selfishly give you pricey ultimatums and quick to cut you off but with Starz I feel like family that is willing to work with my circumstances. I kept debating on if I should stay through the free trial even though I’m broke. I LOVE it and am dying to watch Psycho 1 3 and 4 because 2 was strangely HILARIOUS to me. Trying to be responsible I was going to resubscribe later. They are THE BEST in business with no low budget movies and have great ways to make you want to stay. After this new plan offer they gave me IM DEFINITELY sticking with this company! Though they kissed my a for me to stay I will be kissing theirs for life lol. The great movies are worth it! I love you STARZ!!! Thanks for being a great budget company while still having the best of them all. I recommend to EVERYONE WHO WANTS A GREAT VARIETY OF MOVIES AND A GOOD COMPANY THAT MAKES MONEY AND TREATS THEIR CUSTOMERS WELL. Xoxoxo

App is fine I guess... service sucked though. Lately I’ve been having an issue with watching certain movies on the app. The following message that ‘this title is not provided by your provider’ appears. Even though I have a cable subscription to not only STARZ but it’s subsidiary channels (i.e. Encore). While I understand that most people choose to pay for individual services via the app; decidedly if I paid $4.99 a month for the streaming service and such I’d more than likely be allowed access to all the titles I wished to watch. But I have a so called ‘grandfathered package’ with my cable company which allows me access to basically ALL the so called premium channels for a significant discount. My overall point being is that if you’re going provide a service to one customer and not the other over the difference of ‘service provider ‘ or whatever at least have the decency to have an app that wouldn’t bother to show me something I could not watch.

Content okay, but….. I’m okay with the content. Not the best, not the worst. The app has a few major quirks as many have pointed out. I can deal with all that. The one major quirk that makes me want to delete this app is one I’ve not seen on other movie/tv apps but which vexes me constantly with the Starz app — deleting movies in my downloads before I have a chance to watch them. I have dodgy internet at home so I do most of my downloading at bars or work. I download content to watch at home. Other movie apps, no problem. On the Starz app, I might get to see one movie, but when I go back later to watch another one, all the movies I’ve downloaded are gone — download section is empty. This isn’t a week or a month after downloading, this can happen a day or two after downloading, sometimes in the time between me downloading at work or a bar and me getting home. It’s made it where I do not trust this app any longer because this bug is really the only consistent feature of the app. It’s frustrating to the point where I just want to chuck the app since I can’t trust it not to delete my downloads before I even get home. Much potential and usability ruined by this one glitch. Fix this one major bug, or tell me how to fix it on my end (iPad Pro, no problem like this on any other movie apps), and I’ll sing praises to the folks at Starz, content notwithstanding, because at least at that point that app would be working.

Terribly glitchy app. Love STARZ content but the app is the worst I’ve experienced for any streaming service, paid or not. -Sometimes buffering takes place mid-episode and takes several seconds despite having very high-speed internet. -Sound goes out periodically then resumes later in the episode, sometimes multiple times (sometimes for a second or two a time, sometimes for several minutes). I’ve been using the app for 3 days and it’s happened at least 3 times on different episodes. -Often an episode won’t play when highlighted from the series page, and the entire app freezes up. I have to exit and reopen the app then re-navigate, going to series, show, then selecting the episode from the relevant season and click through that way to “wake it up” instead of just selecting the most recently watched episode as soon as I open the app and resuming where I left off. -Sometimes when resuming an episode, it spins the timer wheel indefinitely no matter what or how many times I try (even restarting Apple TV) until I first select and play a different episode before returning to the one I actually wanted to watch. Again, having to find a way to “wake it up” from a freeze. Can’t believe there are this many issues with a paid premium channel app, it’s barely worth it to watch the content jumping through so many hoops to do so, and it certainly doesn’t encourage me to continue a subscription beyond the trial.

Does not allow the use of stars app. The description says that we can use the starz app but after signing up to the starz monthly app and tried to sign into the starz app I get a log in error. I have tried on all my devices iPad Pro, iPhone 7, apple tc 4K, Samsung 4K tv and non apple devices. I am locked to ONLY using the tv app (to watch starz content via the starz Apple TV channel). I contacted starz and they said apple needs to release our credentials to them because as of now starz cannot see a subscription when signed up via the Apple TV channel. I also contacted apple and after an hour of chatting they finally told me that starz monthly subscription is ONLY allowed for use with the tv app via apple devices or smart TVs with the tv app and NOT the starz app. I told the rep that the current description is misleading and should be revised to let us know that we CANNOT use the starz app with this subscription and we CANNOT use the starz monthly app with our current tv provider unless that’s still in the works and will be available soon and is so please let us know in the app description as well.

The very Best adaptation of the series of books. I've read and reread Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series of books since they were first published in the early 90's. Initially I was curious as to how close the STARZ series would come to them. While the books hold more detail, this series is EXCELLENT! The selection of the cast, the work of the crew, the writing of the scripts and the direction is superior. I also enjoy the discussions at the end if each episode. I continue to reread the books and rewatch the previous seasons before each season and I am never disappointed. I'm not a purist, in that every utterance in the book is captured on screen - that’s impossible. So thank you for such brilliant interpretation and entertainment.

Possibly the easiest movie app ever made. STARZ app is awesome in so many aspects. It has TONS of great movies and a nice selection of very well done and unique series such as Attila and The White Queen. It's also the easiest to navigate by far of almost every app on my phone I use to view movies on. They have quite the selection for the money and it's something I don't see ever canceling unless things go downhill but I've had this subscription a good couple of years now or near enough. I can't recommend how good it is with something for everyone, including the children. With this price point I often wondered why I ever bothered with some of my other subscriptions but they all seem to have something to offer that's unique but if I could only have my pick of two or three, STARZ would definitely be in my top 3.

Things doesn’t work as they say. There is an option to remove titles from your “continue to watchlist” but that option does not work on series titles although the app says that the option works on “all “ titles. Titles will play automatically after watching your favorite shows or movies, which is great but if a series title starts playing and ends up in your continue to watchlist, pull have problems removing it. This is the only irritating issue with the app. I’d desire to not have titles I dont like to start playing. I’d rather have only titles I prefer to watch start playing after my favorite show or movie, not series I’d never watch and then have it stay in que to only pop up later as if I like to watch it again or have it listed as recommended with more titles related or similar

App is terrible for steaming (not content review). This app is not very functional with streaming and navigating compared to other apps like it. The design of Starz streaming service is far behind other streaming services on the market. Most streaming services will allow the user to pick up where you leave off. If I watch part of a movie and want to come back to finish watching it tomorrow, I have to manually navigate to the movie and find the location I left off. I enjoy a particular series, but I have to remember what season I’m on and manually navigate to the episode. Watching multiple episodes of the same series requires the user to manually select to watch the next, rather than auto-playing like most streaming services, with no option to skip recaps or opening credits. Navigation is hugely inconvenient especially when casting to a Smart TV.

Black Sails. I subscribed to STARZ to watch Black Sails after catching the first few episodes on Netflix overseas and got hooked. I loved this show. I love pirates and Treasure Island was one of my favorite books as a young boy. I was a bit disappointed this show only has 4 seasons, but it ended well. Definitely not Disney pirates. I plan to keep the app to evaluate for a bit. I have heard good things about some of the other series. I hope I find more shows as binge-worthy. The app itself works very well and I rarely had issues except with occasionally losing my place when moving devices, but this is a minor grievance and it worked well enough most of the time. I will continue to subscribe at least a few more months if I find some other series on here that I like.

I still get charged with "free" subscription even tho I quit. On a whim I signed up for a free trial to watch only 2 movies and be done with it. Empahsis on FREE TRIAL. The app itself was bad because it never worked properly but again, I needed to watch 2 things on a whim and be done with it. For free. After I was done, ended my free trial, and deleted the apps, I was still charged by STARZ, now monthly. Going on their website on my ipad, iphone, and laptop and following their instructing on how to deleted my suppose free trial, but because it was a free trial NONE of my devices seem to recognise the subscription and I cannot delete anything, file a report on apple, or even get decent help and explanation on why I supposedly now have a monthly paid subscription AND while the "cancel subscription" button is mysteriously gone from all three of my devices on my account. I want help and I don't want to pay for STARZ anymore when it was never meant to be my intention to be a subscribed member.

Outlander. Best series I have EVER watched. The reality, creativity and emotional and physical chemistry between two actors and the supporting actors is unlike anything I’ve ever seen! The thought to detail and the respectful way each incidence is brought forth. The historical realness of what was going on in those years and correctness is amazing, from the clothing to the tools and transportation of the times! But the love story and the strength of two people that time cannot weaken and what they go through to be together…what it stirs within you cannot be matched! I hope this series continues to go on for years to come!! Diana Gabaldon is a genius and the production of her books to small screen is the best! Let’s see it through to her book 10 and any side books she may have to go with it! Everyone I talk to is watching Outlander and can’t get enough of it! They are willing to go long periods until the creation of the next season! To end it before book 10 is finished would be a travesty! We all want as much Jamie and Claire and their story as we can get!!

Rating is for the app, not content. So first off, the only reason I got this subscription is for BMF. And that’ll stay true given there’s not much to choose from. Content on the app is subpar besides a select few shows + movies. The reason I’m giving two stars is because of the functionality of the app itself. I watch mostly on my iPhone 13 Plus. The app DOES NOT save your progress on movies, and rarely saves progress on series even when it’s added to your playlist. Secondly, when I try to rewind or fast forward the entire show just starts over. It freezes quite frequently as well & shuts down the app. The main issue that needs to be fixed is the progress saving. Every app I use for entertainment has this feature so I’m not sure why STARZ isn’t up to date. It’s 2023, save our progress!!! Lol

Low rating is for the platform only, the content is great. The app has so many issues it makes it too frustrating to watch. It constantly freezes and often won’t save where you are in the movie/show. It automatically starts another movie when the last ends and I am not sure what their formula is for the movie they chose to start but it’s nothing I would want to see. The title of the movie isn’t listed anywhere when you are watching the film so even if a movie starts that you end up liking, there is no way to know what movie it is. This is just the start of the issues with the platform itself and I have used my phone, an ipad and a Firestick... All of this said they have a lot of really good movies and a few excellent shows. But I get so annoyed most of the time that I give up. I suggested it to 2 other people because of the content but they gave up too because good movies don’t really matter if you can’t actually watch them.

Made me happy. I was watching Outlander on my iPad. Suddenly I started getting a pop up saying playback error. I’d hit OK and it took me back to the episode selection where I’d hit resume and continue watching. It did it a dozen times in the course of one episode. DISH tech support can’t figure it out. I deleted the app and the iPad itself, then restarted everything. That was the last best idea I was given. I was getting frustrated! Finally got the idea to look for a STARZ app. It’s been smooth sailing ever since I started using the app instead of DISH Anywhere. Your app is easier to navigate and has better picture quality too. If you’ve seen Outlander, you’ll know how happy I was to continue half way thru season 3. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spartacus-Blood & Sand. Third time I've watched this show, but still missing a lot of episodes, thru my own fault!!! I absolutely LOVE these types of shows. When Kirk Douglas acted in the role, he did not know our History, very well!!! It was like I lost interest in watching more of bad rotten like sequels!!! Andy was wonderful as Spartacus, and it was so sad to see him and assume that he was in a dangerous fight of his own personal life. I'm sure all the other fans felt and still feel the sorrow of his demise!!! Thank you for reading my feelings in this first Spartacus and assume that he was coming back at the beginning of this great movie!!! I'm not sure of the new Spartacus, and how he will fill wonderful,l Andy's shoes or make that sandals. Well, that's about all I can say on this movie and the new actor that has taken Andy's place. Unable to connect with tv provider. I think this app is an honest joke. Why can’t I use my tv provider from the official app but can use though official the website on safari. Even that has it flaws can’t even connect my own email to create an account since it says it has password. Which I never created please fix that. This app need to more fixed beforehand. I guess I’ll just be scribed from a provider since that only this thing will not work. By the way you competition has was better tactic on this you should take some notes on HBO max works with provider. This app need to catch up and this need to happen sooner than later. So you guys wanna be premium subscription service then get level of working that worth the investment. Till then I’ll leave this horrible comment. Till this get fixed. So sad how this app is such downgrade for the amazing quality of content you guys offer. Utter disappointment honestly.

App won’t accept sign-in. I just signed up for the 6-month lower cost subscription, but the app wouldn’t accept my brand spanking new, newly created login credentials. Message was “error login” I opened safari and signed on and could start to watch Men In Kilts there, but after stepping away from my iPad for a few minutes, I couldn’t get it to play again. It would only give a pop-up window that said I could watch it on the app. When I Xed out of the window, it would no longer play on Safari. Each time I hit play, it says I can download the app. I deleted and re-downloaded the app - same error login. So, since I don’t have cable, I just subscribed to a service that apparently isn’t available to watch on Safari, but doesn’t make an app that works well enough to accept my new subscription. Kind of defeats the purpose of buying your subscription. Rather disappointing as I’ll now have to cancel.

Blinded by Blindspotting. I honestly didn’t watch the original movie but I saw the trailer for the show and it really looked interesting! I enjoyed the show very much and the story line too. I will definitely go and watch the movie or prequel to see Miles and Collin’s story as well but I have to say Ashley’s story was very relatable to women and especially single mother’s everywhere. Trish’s character was an added bonus and a true joy, alongside her mom, Janell and Mama Nancy as well. Supporting characters make the show & although Earl was a little odd to be in the mix, it helped to have that older brother/ father figure there for Shawn. I was blinded in a good way and I enjoyed the interpretive dancing that brought out the feels within the story. I’m praying for a second season and continuation to the story. Maybe Miles can get let out early for good behavior? I hope so! Awesome show👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The last thing I need.. They have great shows and stuff available, don’t get me wrong. But you can forget it if you need help with your account. My phone conversation has been with a pre recorded operator only and I can’t get ahold of an actual person. For starters, I wouldn’t have to do that if you guys would literally not be cheap and try to charge me more for my subscription while I’m trying to change my payment method. I signed up for $3.22/mo for a year after my free trial. You’re still trying to charge my old card ONCE EVERY HOUR. And I can’t change my payment method without going back to the original $8.99/mo? Don’t go back on your word with subscriptions, that’s how you lose subscribers. 🙄🙄 unacceptable. EDIT: got ahold of a real person after holding for 20 minutes, that CONFIRMED what I was paying ($3.22/mo) and he said “there’s nothing we can do on this end.” Customer service is supposed to help, not keep me in my same situation. SECOND EDIT: Only after threatening legal action did I get them to stop charging me for the subscription being cancelled. It took them 5 days to stop charging me. Don’t bother calling customer support, because they’ll make it seem like they’re helping by “notating the account” and that’s all.

Log in with TV provider. At 8:15 this morning I downloaded the Starz App for the umpteenth time hoping the issue with the App not functioning properly would be repaired. I began signing in at 8:15. At 8:22 after going through the various steps I was finally signed in. Seven minutes? Can you imagine if it took 7 minutes to sign into every app? But that’s how it has been on my iPad Pro since October 2018. Once signed in I was able to watch about 50 seconds of programing before the App took me back to the sign in process to start all over again. Since Adobe became involved in this process signing into the App with your TV provider has become impossible. If Starz doesn’t want me to use my TV provider to utilize the App remove the option. This is beyond frustrating. I used to love this App but it is worthless now.

Buffers too much. My main grip with this app is navigating - when I go to the Resume Menu for instance and I want to watch Outlander Blade may cover a quarter of the Outlander box when I click on Outlander I get Blade also there are no pictures of the show in the boxes so I go to the Series Menu where there are also no pictures but no double boxes. The app buffers a lot. - I always have my phone or iPad at my side to pass the time when I start the app when I go to a movie when I start a movie because anytime you go to another it buffers.I have three other streaming services they do buffer when you first go into it but it’s for two or seconds this app can really stand some improvements - I don’t plan on keeping it for a long period of time

Starz Review. I love the Starz original shows, so far I’ve seen Outlander which was really good, and now I’m watching Black Sails and am really enjoying that as well. Really keeps me entertained and wanting to find out what happens next! I only have one issue with the app which I wish could be resolved. When I go onto any other app such as Netflix or Disney Plus I could watch a show on the TV, and then later or the next day go onto my phone and go back to where I left off, and then back to TV, and so on and so forth. With this app I will go onto my phone and it does not do that. For example, I am now watching Black Sails, when I went onto my phone the other day and opened the app, I selected my account, and it didn’t even show where I left off at, and it showed that I was still watching Outlander when I finished that show months ago. Something isn’t syncing from watching the app on the TV, to the phone, or to the computer. I wish that this issue was resolved, cause sometimes when I’m sitting in a waiting room or somewhere I just want to pull out my phone, plug in my headphones and watch the show or movie I’m on, and where I left off at. Also, when I searched Black Sails on my phone, it showed that none of the episodes were watched, so it’s not just where I left off at, it’s also not registering that I’ve seen any of it at all. Please fix this glitch, it will make me very happy!

Unimpressed so far. The free trial just ended and I’m hoping maybe now that they’re getting money out of me it will work better. I only downloaded the app because it was either that or spend over $100 to purchase the box set of the show I want to watch. When the app opens it sometimes takes a minute or two to go to the home screen. Half the time it crashes before it even gets to that point. Most of the time that it doesn’t crash it just sits on the home screen, frozen. I’ve let it sit for a few minutes and come back and it still won’t let me navigate to the show I want to watch. It doesn’t seem to make a difference if I’m using WiFi or not. I also have the issue that someone else mentioned; any time you leave the app for more than a few seconds it restarts itself and you have to go through the whole process again. The few times it does let me navigate it’s a pain to get to the show. It would make more sense to have your playlist accessible from the home screen. There is a “continue watching” section on the home screen, but so far every time I’ve tried using it it starts playing an episode I’ve already watched, making it fairly useless. Currently attempting the download to play feature while connected to reliable WiFi. So far seems to be working, although it’s going about as fast as a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter.

Unknown error... after taking my credit card info. Not sure what’s going on but I can tell you it’s super shady. I downloaded the app, opened it, and went through all the normal processes to set up my login info. I even finished putting in my credit card information, which it happily accepted, error message free. When I got through all that and went to actually USE the access I had just purchased, it all of a sudden tells me there’s an “unknown error” with the app. I thought ok, perhaps the app glitched. I went on their website. Also an error message. How convenient that there is an “Unknown error” right after it takes me credit card information. I even deleted the app and re-downloaded it to no avail. I suppose this will either end with Starz fixing whatever the “unknown error” is or I’ll have to report a fraudulent charge to my credit card company. Yeesh. What a mess.

Not so easy to cancel. The app worked fine but when it came time to cancel, it became a nightmare. The app didn’t show up in iTunes as a subscription, so couldn’t cancel the way their instructions said to. Tried to login on the website, but on the iPad, the site forces you to open the app. The app says cancel on iTunes or on website. This was a maddening circle until I was finally able to login to the site via a computer. When I clicked the link to cancel, it kept prompting me to keep trying the service and cancel the cancellation, which, I believe, is purposely worded to confuse someone into canceling the cancellation rather than canceling the service. Tried to cancel before the free trial expired but since it wasn’t on my list of subscriptions in iTunes, thought I wouldn’t be billed. Don’t be fooled like I was. If you want to cancel, make sure you find the right link on the website, don’t assume you won’t be billed just cause the app doesn’t appear in iTunes.

I RECOMMEND STARZ ALL THE TIME TO FRIENDS. My son first told me I should get STARZ subscription when he introduced me to Black Sails! I fell in love with The White Queen, The White Princess & The Spanish Princess! BUT WAIT...I have to tell you about my FAVORITE SHOW OF ALL TIME! OUTLANDER!!! I’ve got sooooo many woman to get their STARZ subscription because of my recommendations! I got my mom to watch Outlander with me when I was watching Seasons 1-3 for my 3rd time (back then) so we could watch Season 4 in sequence together for the 1st time! She laughed at me when I cried because I had seen it 3 times already but between sobs, I said “but he’s such a good man!” So frickin’ romantic! We binged watch like mad! She said she couldn’t sleep because of each episode’s cliff hanger! After the finale of season 4 she was so bummed she had to wait for season 5 but then she got a mischievous smile on her face and said, “Let’s watch from the beginning again!” Then she said like a kid in a candy store, “AND we’ll HAVE TO WATCH FROM THE BEGINNING when the new season premiere’s!” She passed away before season 5 was released and I held off watching it for a bit but then I started watching season’s 1 thru 4 then made it to the end of 5. In my mind, I can see my mom in her chair & hear her laughing at/with me! Waiting for season 6!

LEGAL SCAM DONT FALL FOR IT. I was on my 3rd day of my (7 day day FREE trial) as with any subscription even if you get a free trial you have to CANCEL it before the trial ends so you don’t get charged. THIS APP makes it ALMOST impossible to UNSUBSCRIBE. The Number on the website is an ACTUAL scam that doesn’t work. I’m on IPHONE and the robot/instructions tell you to go to SETTINGS/ITUNES/APPLE ID/ SUB.. ETC the app doesn’t show up there not just for me FOR EVERYONE. you have to go to where ever you Subscribed from ( which for one is DUMB but obviously it’s to make it harder FOR ANYONE TO CANCEL) I figured it out because I’m 18 years old and I have my ways with technology but I’m sure even the younger people would have trouble canceling. AS FOR older people never in ONE HUNDRED YEARS would they find a way to cancel. The APP charges you $8 and then when you finally see it in your bank account you’re able to unsubscribe. A LEGAL SCAM is what this is. YOU SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED OF THIS COMPANY. ( ALSO don’t get fooled by the TEXT colors when trying to cancel they also use that to fool you.

Substance, But No Service. The app, so far as it relates to what I use it for, is wonderful. User friendly, no crashes, clever recommendations. My issue however lies with the service the viewer gets when there IS a problem. My account was hacked very recently. This person simply came in, changed my account email without my knowing, and went on with business as usual, thusly locking me out from my own account. I didn’t even notice until I tried to log in on a new device. Now, ordinarily, the custom when one tries to change their email on a subscription service is to send the original email some sort of confirmation. I received no such confirmation, nor was I notified any other way that this email had been changed. When I contacted STARZ for help, they sent me an automated message with a bunch of links to articles that could in no way solve my problem. I was forced instead to cancel my subscription. Since the company was no help in restoring my account to the proper address. That said, if you all are going to allow just anyone to change emails, perhaps you should implement security questions or other measures to better make sure people aren’t having their accounts hacked.

My Playlist. The app version of STARZ for iPad is great, I love the variety & extensive list of great & popular movies. I have a HUGE continuous issue with my playlist that has been present ever since I started my subscription many months ago! I will spend 1hour+ looking thru all the different genre of movies & shows and add a ton to my playlist/watchlist and then, POOF! THERE ALL GONE!! It is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING to say the least! Please fix the bug, it has happened for the at least 10th time now and I feel as if I’m going to rip my hair out! Also, some titles take a 10second “thinking” time when I click it to add to my playlist, while others I click the add + symbol and it’s immediate. I have the highest internet speed/connection our internet provider offers so it’s not anything to do with that. Thanks :)

Frustrating. The content is fine, the functionality is not. The app doesn’t work a lot of the time. It freezes up on the main menu as soon as I open it. If I’m downloading something, it locks up. Sometimes, if I pause what I’m watching, or have to close the app to do something else, the show or movie I was watching will reset back to the beginning, and when I try to set it back to where I left off, it will automatically reset to the start. It does this two or three times before finally playing where I move it back to where it is supposed to be. These problems are on my iPhone X. It works fine on my Roku boxes, and one of my Samsung TVs. But another one of my Samsung TVs, it lags pretty bad and won’t even play most of the time. And WiFi signal is not an issue.

Fickle and Frustrating!. I’m writing this review because not only am I frustrated and aggravated, I don’t know why this is happening and it’s been an issue for at least two years. I pay for STARZ through my Spectrum cable package. I also own an Apple TV, which is how I stream 98% of my content. I purchased my first Apple TV in 2018, and I downloaded multiple premium cable apps, including STARZ, to watch on demand. At the time, STARZ was only one app I couldn’t access with my Spectrum account. I let it go. I purchased another Apple TV for a bedroom last week. I set it up, as I did in 2018, downloading multiple premium cable apps to use when I want to. I downloaded STARZ again, thinking it would maybe work. It did. Okay, great! I go back to the original Apple TV I bought in 2018 and tried to sign in with the exact credentials I used to sign in to my new device. Again, I’m being told I can’t access STARZ with my Spectrum cable. So, what gives? I have two identical Apple TVs, both with the same amount of memory and up to date as of February 2021, and only the newer of the two devices plays STARZ on demand. (Both STARZ apps, are up to date, too.) I pay hundreds of dollars per month for my cable, and one of the newer perks is on demand service. It’s frustrating me to no end I can now access STARZ on demand, from one device, but not the other. It seems like there’s a massive misconnect between Spectrum and STARZ. Fix it.

App not STARZ network. STARZ for those somehow unfamiliar is a great cable network with lots of exciting original shows (like black sails). Now onto the iPad app. I am running this on an iPad Pro with a Verizon FIoS internet connection for baseline. Pros: The app is fast enough at pulling content and the video streaming is extremely reliable (even when my connection is heavily loaded I still get perfect video). It is easy to find videos (sometimes when searching for a term it suggests some bizarrely related content, but not really an impediment) Cons: as someone else noted the app basically closes when in the background, like leaving to view a text message, and it doesn’t have a good “resume your last video” when you leave the app (or allow PIP) so you get to go searching (the fun of discovery?). I am assuming the content creators didn’t tag stuff reliably. Recently in the middle of a viewing session (halfway through a show 😳) it suddenly decided I don’t have STARZ service on my cable provider (my appleTV has no such problem and I can and do watch STARZ on my cable box) and when I try to reconnect it says that a) your network [verizon] doesn’t have STARZ (they do) and that my account doesn’t either (I do). Sigh… (that’s a breaking feature essentially)

App Never Works Properly. I have an iPhone and I recently became a subscriber to STARZ and everything seem to be working just fine. When it was time to renew my subscription and I paid it, then I was not able to watch any movies at all. I am not very happy that my money was taken and I cannot even watch anything. I was on the phone for almost 40 minutes trying to speak to a customer service representative and this issue still has not been rectified. “Power”has to be the number one show watched right now and I cannot even watch it, I wonder how much money the actors/producers are losing by people not being able to watch through the app. If this is able to be fixed soon I may renew my subscription for November if not I guess I will not be watching it anymore, because I do not have time to go through this every single time when I can watch another app that will give me the service that I deserve.

Watching all the time!!!. During this time of quarantine, I don’t have much to do. I try to get out as little as possible. But, my daughter-in-law told me about Outlanders and said I’d look in to it. Well, I can’t say how many times I’ve watched and rewatched the whole 5 seasons. This show is absolutely fabulous. The actors have a chemistry that makes their characters seem like they are the true people and you can develop such a connection with them that your emotions get wrapped up in their lives. I cry when their sad or going through something bad or good, as though they were real. And, their love seems so genuine that you cannot believe that they are not a couple off screen. Thanks for such a wonderful series. Can’t wait until season 6 airs and hope that they never stop filming the Outlanders.

Pin entry doesn’t work. I had this issue on another phone and tried deleting the app and reinstalling. Now, I got a new phone and have the same problem. We have enabled a pin for content over a certain rating. I cannot watch or download content if it requires the pin in the app. I can watch things that require the app fine via a browser or our Apple TV. So, it isn’t an issue with the pin itself. However, in the app, when it requests the pin, I enter it (as I would on the Apple TV or browser). No numbers appear as I’m entering them. It moves the cursor to the next box as though it knows I’ve entered the number, but I don’t actually see the number I’ve entered in the box. Once I’ve entered the four numbers (hypothetically since I can’t see them…but it exits the last box), I hit submit. No error, but nothing happens. I don’t know how to get past it which renders the app unusable.

The best, short lived. Right now, I’m watching American gods. I’m in love with the show, but I’m worried. Let me explain why: I first got involved with STARZ for the show Spartacus. A show I often describe to people who have never seen it as “gods gift to men who watch tv” the death of Andy was tragic, and no one could ever fill his roll, but the fallowing “gods of the arena” was excellent. “War of the dammed” was epic and by then Ian had really stepped into the character of Spartacus. We all knew it had to end sometime, but I wanted so much more than what I got. The same go’s with “black sails” as amazing as it was, it felt short. The subject matter was there. Blackbeard, long John silver. It could have kept going. And don’t get me started on “ash vs the evil dead” I understand that the show was a victim of piracy, but the fan base was there. Canceling that show made STARZ weaker as a service. I’m not interested in “power” definitely not “p-valley” I know “outlander” is a popular show, but it’s not for me. Right now, for me “American gods” is carrying the subscription. Please don’t cancel it. And I’d like to see more shows like it.

Content is amazing app is horrible?. I’m under 40 so I watch everything on my phone through the app. I will watch a show on the STARZ app; I’m 15-minutes into an episode. Then I will have to pause it just to check something really quick. If I stay paused too long it totally clears the show out. When I’m done with what I’m doing and go back to the app—- I’ve been put back at the stars main page.🙄 Shockingly - there is NO quick access thumbnails of my recently viewed shows listed on the main page. So I have to scroll and search for my show again. Once I click on it. It starts the entire show episode over 🥴😳🙄sooooo I think.🥱 It’s actually playing the PREVIOUS episode i watched and it’s starting it from the beginning!!!😳😳. Like even Before the previews/ advertisements. Then it starts playing and in order to get to the next episode you have to fast forward all the way through that episode. the app makes the entire experience very unappealing to go back to watch a show when it puts you back At The beginning previous episode? It’s like why even bother. I quit my trial. Any company who this innovative and progressive in the content it provides but doesn’t bother putting any effort into the manner in which the content is delivered because they assume(Wrongly) that most are watching this on TV when the fact of the matter is statistically most Americans are watching this on the telephone. Therefore the app working is vital. Netflix knows that, HBO knows that, and so should STARZ.

Great Service, Some Terrible App Functionality. I’ve really been enjoying my STARZ subscription. The content and selection are great. Playback and menus all function well! However, I take issue with a few things: The Autoplay feature: When movies end this NEEDS to be optional. I cannot figure out how to turn this off. I understand auto-playing the next episode of a show immediately after one ends, but a movie? Why would I want some random unrelated content to start on it’s own? Not only do I like to choose what I watch next myself, but sometimes (shocker) I also like to watch the credits. (A lot of people worked hard to get their names up there and I have respect for that.) 15 seconds is not always enough time to get to the remote to cancel the autoplay. Continue Watching feed: This always seems to include movies that I’ve already finished, even if I do manage to watch to the very end of the credits. It also invites me to continue watching the shows and movies that started up of their own accord when I did not cancel the autoplay fast enough. I have no intention of ever watching some of those titles, so their presence in my queue just gums the works and makes it harder to find the content I AM trying to resume. I would love to be able to hide these from the feed.

Beware. These people are crooks. They received cancellation (through Apple) of my services well within the service month. On the date the services were set to “expire”, they took the next months payment out of my account. Services were cancelled and money for the month was taken as well. After waiting on hold for 55 minutes to speak with a representative yesterday, I was told that I would be given a refund. Today I received an email blaming me and the bank. According to STARZ, you must cancel the service with them and notify the bank not to make the payment. Really STARZ? Does that seem reasonable or logical?! So pay 25-35 dollars for the bank to stop payment on a bonafide cancelled service?! Really?! I don’t even want them on my regular cable plan anymore because of this. I ONLY got the app to finish the season of Power. So you got double for that month. And you greedily take more?! People beware.

Enjoying the content, but removing ads for episodes (at least beyond the pilot) would be nice. Update: it seems like what I thought was another episode playing was actually a 30 second ad. It was difficult for me to tell the difference between the ad and a recap, so I thought the episodes were mixed up. Original review: I’ve liked the stability of the app so far, but it seems like some episodes are mixed up. For example, episode 2 of The White Princess, “Hearts and Minds,” is actually missing. When I’ve tried to play the episode in the app, an episode from “The Spanish Princess” plays instead. I’ve tried this across devices, so it seems like a problem with the app itself, and not my access to it. It’s not a huge deal, but it did make me log off Starz and onto another streaming service to watch something else during my downtime.

Terrible App For IPhone. I have been using the STARZ app for iPhone and it CONSTANTLY at least 90% of the time, when I select something to watch, after the previews, there is NO sound for the movie. Just silence. I have to close out, reboot several times before sound starts playing for the movie. Tonight I haven’t been able to get a single movie to play with sound. Previews and their ads, plays no problem can hear everything, the moment the movie plays.... zero sound. What is the point of paying for this monthly if I can’t watch anything I am paying for! 40mins of my night wasted trying to play something on this app. Very disappointed and if not fixed will be canceling. If you watch primarily on iPhone and iPad like I do, be expected for constant aggravation in trying to get anything to play correctly. How they have so many good reviews is beyond me. HBO Max came out and it’s all messed up but at least everything I select to watch plays. Maybe I will just stick with them moving forward.

App is terrible ( not a content review). I don’t understand how this late in the game STARZ has such a terrible app. The interface isn’t good but the part that is most frustrating to me is that it’s nearly impossible to fast forward or rewind a show/movie. Dragging the bar at the bottom does not work to rewind/fast-forward, it just freezes the video then you have to hit pause then hit play for it to jump back to where you started from. I’ve had to use the 10-second jump feature to fast forward or rewind large parts of a video. And the best part is, when hitting the 10-second jump repeatedly, instead of rewinding/fast-forwarding 10-seconds, it only goes 6-seconds. I’m not paying for a streaming app where the basic features don’t work. The ability to rewind/fast-forward is something I’ve always taken for granted because no other streaming service has a problem with this, it’s such a basic functionality. I just paid for the first month after a free trial, but this is not worth it and I’ll be cancelling. There’s way too many other options with good content out there to pay for an app that has a lazy, outdated interface and lacks basic functionality.

Definitely have some issues to work out. I hold large, multi billion dollar companies to very high standards and this app really misses the mark. The actual content is great, I’ve had plenty of hours of entertainment. Its always on in the background when I do just about anything. With that being said, I really wish it would offer split screen. Since iOS14 came out, almost all of my video apps will go to the corner or run in the background while I use my phone. This app doesnt and its sooo annoying. Currently, the Seduction series is airing and Im super anxious! its amazing! but i have no way of knowing when ill be able to see the newest episode. there’s absolutely no information on any of the movies or shows. It’s annoying i cant take care of anything regarding my acct in the app, it opens Safari which is annoying. just a ton of little inconveniences makes it less than stellar and in my opinion, with all of the competitors, it should really be doing more. It needs a new UI, I want specific dates when things are coming, etc. All in all, its fine and definitely worth the money if you get your membership on a discount.

The constant ads are maddening. They have 2-3 standout series right now, but when you’re binging a show, they have a forced ad for their other content that u can’t fast forward through. They’re the same 3 ads, they’re all for shows and movies that are 10-15 yrs old. Anytime u watch a bts extra feature that’s 4 mins long, you have to watch a forced ad for the first minute. Let ME search your app and find your content instead of shoving it down my throat. Even though I love power and outlander the ads are almost more than I can take. None of my other subscription services inflict these in this way, in this quantity. The 60 second one that’s playing right now has graphic horror movies featured and I dont watch that kind of content bc it scares me. So bc I can’t ff I have to avert my eyes from my own tv for the 30 seconds that it’s playing. When I’m forced to have it on my screen before every episode that plays almost??? It’s too much. If they don’t stop soon, I’ll be cancelling my service.

Horrible for travel. Works ok if you are at home on decent WiFi to watch a show. However major issues if you travel and are on public hotspots. I downloaded a bunch of episodes for a work trip. Went to play in my hotel only to be told it couldn’t play because I was on a VPN (I guess they don’t like customer security). Went to airplane mode, downloaded shows still wouldn’t play. Only could get them to play by connecting without VPN. And that was domestic US travel. On another international trip tried the same thing, but once I connected without vpn and it saw I was in Europe it corrupted all of the downloaded files. Support says this is a feature, not a bug. I understand they have legal obligations on where their films can be accessed, but this app puts those well above customer security and usability. Other apps don’t seem to have as big of issues.

Good luck trying to Cancel your Subscription. I downloaded this through the website witch led me to the AppStore and once I got all signed up FOR THE FREE TRIAL, I watched one movie! I wanted to cancel straight after so I wouldn’t get charged but I thought oh wait it’s just a free subscription they’ll send me an email saying I’m close to ending my free trial. Right?! WRONG! No email. No heads up! Nothing! They proceeded to charge me 8 bucks and change which is no big deal but when I wanted to follow the instructions to cancel, it wouldn’t even show up on my subscriptions! But I know I’m subscribed because it charged me 8 bucks just yesterday! So I’m calling them and trying to find a way to cancel but I’m spending an hour on the phone and still no one is answering. Please think twice about purchasing this app and signing up for a free trial. It is NOT WORTH IT!

Fan of the Outlander Series. I have read all the Outlander books as they were written. I was so excited when they made the series. I read them when first published, so I got new copies and read them again to catch up on what happens when. The series is very close to the books. I could not wait to see Fergus and Ian grown up. I told my sister and daughter in law what a good series it was and we have been watching together. I can hardly wait for each week to pass to watch it play out. Such a wonderful blend of history, romance, drama and science fiction. I keep wishing there would be a book 9. Thanks for doing such a wonderful job being true to these iconic characters.

The Apple TV app: Very buggy. The Apple TV app is a mixed bag: Most if it works fine, except when it doesn’t. In that past week I’ve run into two bugs: 1. More frequent: App becomes completely unresponsive to user input; only fixed after force-quitting the app — perhaps multiple times. 2. Only happened once thus far: The audio for the show I was watching earlier resumed playing as soon as I reentered (foregrounded) the app, despite the app not actually being on the player screen. When I went back to the player screen and resumed it from the user interface, the audio that had been playing previously kept playing at the same time as (and out-of-sync with) the correct audio for the playhead at which I had resumed the video via the UI. Starz: Please fix your tvOS app!!!

Outlander. I am in love with Jamie and Claire snd their sensuously impassioned affair. I can’t pull myself away from them, I daydream about them while working and count the hours and minutes until I can be back in their sphere. I’m hooked, addicted to the love they share, addicted to the magnificent personalities they are. I am at the end of my life taking stock of all that I have lived through, my loves and our beauty and I prefer Jamie and Claire’s love. There is something so pure, so sublime, so precious, and so pure that draws me to them. I’ve never felt like this for media characters. I don’t even watch television. I found them by accident and by Devine providence. I am processing my loves in accordance with theirs. I want to be them...

Impossible to Use. This review is merely for the app, not the service itself. The app is dysfunctional and, frankly, getting on my last nerve. I can see that this is a new 3.13.4 version from 22hrs ago so perhaps that’s why I’ve been having problems. I was watching a show and anytime I exited the app, even if only for a minute, there would be a tiny padlock symbol in the corner of the icon to resume my show. If I tried to play it, I received the following message: FIRST: A QUICK PIECE OF BUSINESS While you now have access to tons of your favorite stuff, this title isn't offered by your provider. We're confident that you will find more of the obsessable series and movies that you crave. This was weird considering that I should be able to watch whatever I want with my provider. I tried turning my phone off and on again, logging out and then back in, etc. until I just logged out, deleted the app, and turned my phone off. When I turned my phone back on and re-downloaded the app, it wouldn’t let me log on. Listen, I have like 3 episodes left of this show I’m watching and I’d really like to just finish it, assuming I’ll ever be able to log back on. After that, I’ll probably never touch this app again.

Content great, App terrible. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP! Me, along with others, are facing the extremely annoying issue that the app never keeps track of where you leave off on a show or movie. If I start watching something and get a phone call or write an email and go back to the app it starts the entire thing over. You literally have to watch whatever you want to watch all in one sitting— which is super inconvenient and not realistic! I love the content on this app but I’m seriously considering getting rid of my subscription because I’ve had the issue of it starting all my shows and movies over for 3 months and still no fix. FIX PLEASE!

Outlander. I can’t say enough about this series. It’s undoubtedly the best story I’ve ever seen and the books are equally as good. Diana Galbaldon is brilliant and I can’t put the books down.. I’ve probably watched the series ten times at least and see something I’ve missed each time I watch it. The love story is beautiful and Jamie and Claire do a wonderful job of making it so , very, very real. I’m at series number five now and I can’t wait for Sunday to get here I wish it would neyver end. Thanks so much for the outstanding job you’ve all done. It should certainly win all kinds of awards.

Commercial!! Really? Why do we paying for. It is an outrage that they charge a fee per month yet they impose us to watch one minute commercial of the same show over and over! Not only doesn’t want you to watch it but also you get disgusted by excessive imposition advertising without ability to forward it, and so pathetically instead of skip bottom they added “add to my list” bottom that just desperation and abuse. Also doesn’t even makes you to watch the very show that you are interested because some of us PAY to NOT having the ordeal of watching commercial. Im canceling as it is dishonest and lack of transparency and above all its a dictatorial behavior to impose watch it. HBO, Showtime, Netflix etc they all allow skip or move forward. Im appalled!

Starz Review. The huge array of shows & movies are great. Quality is amazing. Only problem is most of the time the app doesn’t save where you left off. For example say I pause, close out the video with 22 mins left out of an hour & then close the app. When I go back to finish watching the show starts from the beginning. It’s frustrating when you don’t remember where you left off. It also force closes the videos when you switch apps to respond to a text or email etc, then when you switch back you have to reload the app & start your show or movie all the way from beginning.

App is horrible. When I was making my profiles for the app, I made 3 of them. But for some reason one of the profiles can not get deleted. I even deleted the app and signed in again and it still wouldn’t let me delete the profile. Another thing is a problem is that when I download a movie and I watch it, it doesn’t work. It kicks me out of the app when I tap on a downloaded movie. One more thing that is a problem with the app is that when I resume a movie on the app, it takes me 20 minutes back from where I left off at. Also the app doesn’t let me delete a unfinished movie and when I finish the movie, it is still on me unfinished move list. This app is super annoying and it needs a lot of fixes.

Really annoying when going back to full screen after minimizing. A few annoying things: anytime I hit play on a new movie or episode, it asks me if I want to play even though I’m not on WiFi. I don’t need this message popping up all the time. Just let me check a box to stream on my data plan and leave me alone. Any time I go back to full screen after minimizing it, it goes back to the menu for the film or episode and I have to start it again (once again, asking me if I want to play it when not on WiFi.) No other streaming app does this. I minimize and maximize a lot on my phone, but this app makes me not even want to use it because of that.

Terrible first experience. I just downloaded the STARZ app on my phone so I could activate the app on my Samsung TV. Tried to play an episode on my TV. It took forever to load, then started playing without a picture, The picture showed up for a second before promptly booting me out. I rebooted my TV as instructed on Samsung help, but continued to have the same problem. Tried to download the app on my iPad and when I opened the app it says “stream overload, four devices at one time is the max. please stop playback on an active device and try again.” I only have the app on the TV, my phone, and now the iPad. That is three devices. None of which are playing anything! Very frustrating. I was excited to start watching my series tonight. Thank goodness it’s a free trial. I will not waste my money on this app.

I love Starz. I purchased the app to watch American Gods, which I love! I've now discovered other original shows by Starz, like the pirate drama Black Sails, that I'm looking forward to getting into. White Queen is next with a little trip down Memory Lane in the form of Good Times and Sanford and Son after that. Did you know they have vintage TV shows on this app? They do. The app itself is easy to use with a beautiful and intuitive user interface. Their equivalent of the hourglass and spinning rainbow disc is a lovely and neat little graphic. Okay, back to Black Sails. Starz, what do you think about adding Chico and the Man?

It’s not the programming, it’s the app functionality.... The content and programs are very good. I pay the subscription with no issues... I am not satisfied with the application functionality. I use the app mostly in my iPad and in my iPhone. First, it is slow in opening the app. It takes a while to open, sometimes giving an error and me having to try again. Second, it does not “remembers” the last time you used it, so you have to look for the correct chapter to continue viewing where you left it. Third, it opens in the incorrect chapter, and in order to be able to browse other chapters I have to go home, search for series, then the series I am looking for, and then all other available chapters. Please do something...

App review only. The content on Starz is great. No complaints there. My issue is with the app for my iphone. It freezes multiple times during viewing of movies or shows. I have to completely close the app to get it to run again and even sometimes that doesn’t even work. 50% of the time if I do have to close it, it won’t start up in the program where I left off. Sometimes when I pause a program it will also close out what I was option instead of it just pausing. It’s all very frustrating. I’m currently signed up for a promotion for Starz but if after the 6 months, this is still continuing, I will just cancel it. I won’t pay full price for such a frustrating playback platform. Ugh.

Needs a lot of work :/. I like STARZ but this app is so far behind all the other streaming apps. It’s slow, episode and movie downloads are slow and fail most of the time unless the app is open. App freezes way too often, doesn’t remember where episode or movie last left off and will restart a lot, fast-forward function is glitchy and ten second fast-forward is very slow. When you watch a downloaded episode without WiFi it still has a lot of trouble just playing the video. It just feels like there are so many bugs despite the updates. Only works well if you watch an episode all the way through in one sitting and on moderately fast wifi.

App won’t allow me or play movies. I’ve always had this app and used it to watch Power last season. Tonight while trying to watch the new season of Power the play icon is there but it will NOT play the show!!!! I’m beyond bummed because I’ve always used my iPad in the past to watch. Somebody PLEASE fix this issue, what’s the purpose of having an app that you can’t watch if the play icon is a bust. Hopefully you can fix this before the season is over. To be clear the play icon doesn’t work for anything. I reinstalled app and everything. PLEASE HELP AND FIX. I’d love to give y’all a higher rating but it doesn’t work. Ugh!

They could’ve done better. STARZ seems like an ‘okay’ app, but it does need some improvements. I wish they had a ‘skip intro’ button. It’s so annoying that i have to fast forward to skip the intro. Also if you press pause on an episode and you leave it on pause for too long it will literally just disappear and go on to the next episode. And when i start casting the app to connect to the tv, it doesn’t go on the next episode for you. You literally have to click on the next episode sometimes which is unfortunate, but other than that the app is great and it has amazing shows! I still love it !

Glitchy. Was trying to watch on my phone while running and I kept receiving the following message: Four devices is the maximum at one time. Please stop playback on an active device and try again. This was annoying but I wasn’t concerned that my password had been hacked as its extremely complicated. And, it was 4:30 in the morning so no one else in the family was up watching anything. So, I deleted the app and downloaded it again, thinking that might help. It didn’t. I went into my account and changed my extremely complicated password into an even more complicated password thinking, ok, maybe I did get hacked. Went back into app with my new password and… received the same message. There is a reason that my STARZ subscription is already canceled for May and this only confirms my decision.

Cannot access app content. I cannot seem to log in. I signed up for the free trial, but when I went to log in I got a warning about a token. Since I figured I would want to watch outlander anyways, I went ahead and signed up for 1 month thinking it was an issue with the trial. It still didn’t work. When I tried to say change password, it said that it doesn’t recognize my email address, but I cannot get to the screen to set up a new account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cancelled and reapplied the subscription and basically tried everything I can think of the clear up this glitch. I recently downloaded the new iOS, so I don’t know if that could be the issue... anyways, if this can’t be cleared up I hope I will be refunded as I have not benefited from this service at all.

This app is almost as bad as its download policy. If you are a fan of the Power series or any of the historical dramas, STARZ content is pretty good. But if you travel and download shows to watch on the flight, look out. If it detects you as out of the country, on a plane or on a VPN; it automatically deletes all of your downloads and won’t let you sign in. I can forgive issues like poor video advance features but I just got back from a trip and went to watch an episode in a lounge in New Jersey and poof, all of the episodes are gone. I try to sign in, I get a cryptic error that tells me I logged in via a VPN or something. This app has wasted enough of my time and I am going t cancel my subscription. One less streaming service one be a bad idea.

Can’t even log in anymore. I used to be able to use the STARZ app with little difficulty. I’d log in via my AT&T U Verse and have access to some of my favorite shows. Sometime in the past year, that all changed however and I’m unable to even log in. Every time I go to the “log in with TV Service provider” I always get hit with a “Sorry your TV Provider is not supported” when I know it is. I can log into the app fine on Apple TV. When I try to click on the AT&T U Verse option in their list of service providers, nothing happens and I’m just stuck on that page. This is really disappointing because it used to work fine. At this current juncture, this is the only streaming platform that has shows like Miami Vice and Knight Rider available and now I can’t even log into the app. I’d love to see this fixed.

Constantly being logged out.... The app seems to have updates often but I still consistently run into the logged out issue which is quite annoying. If I minimize (using my ipad) the app or do not use the app for more than an hour I get logged out or run into an error message. Thank goodness I have cellular on my ipad because when logging back in if I am on wifi, Adobe will not recognize the server and will not allow me to log in. Using adobe to log in is weird enough, It is repetitive and extremely annoying. Luckily my iCloud Keychain works after I type in my email address but after I’m done with American Gods i’ll be more than happy to delete this app because of too many issues. I also linked it to my AppleTv account but when it switches over, the same issue occurs...buckets of fun.

Accounts are not secure enough. I enjoy the content, but if your account is compromised/hacked they can’t help you. More times than I can count I have had a message pop up that I can’t stream on more than 4 devices at once, which is odd because I only have the app on my phone and one home TV. I changed my password, but there is no way to log out all devices so I called customer service. The only “advice” they could give me was to cancel my subscription and start a new one after the current one expires. There is no way to make your account more secure which is ridiculous, and they cannot/will not tell you what devices have been logged into the account.

A great book series taken beautifully to the screen.. I first picked up the book OUTLANDER when it was first published in the early 1990s and have read every book in the series - several times. I was concerned the story would be diluted on the screen and the characters would not be those I’d formed in my head, I was wrong. The attention to detail has been thorough and the choice of cast superb. Diana Gabaldon's stories have been brought to life, so for me, 30 years of excellent enjoyment both in the written word and the visual entertainment. I look forward to more. Thank you STARZ.

Great Movies. All the movies that I’ve been watching for the last 2 months have been wonderful !! The only thing that I’m upset with when I first signed up with STARZ off of Facebook seven days for free and then with the tax it comes almost $10 a month three days after I signed up it was three months for five dollars a month so it’s a little bit of a rip off I am a veteran I served this country for 12 years I have two purple hearts when I was in the war so how about if you give me the next three months for five dollars plus tax

Fix the UI PLEASE.. Love STARZ but this is the most frustrating streaming platform to watch content on. The app is constantly restarting my shows from the beginning whenever I leave the screen for more than a few minutes. It also doesn’t keep track of progress across devices. I’ll watch something on my TV and try to continue it on my phone but It doesn’t save my progress ! Don’t have these issues with other platforms. It’s annoying. And it’s been an ongoing issue for years that others have also complained about. And I wish y’all would actually do something about it ? Being that so many people have the same complaints ?!

Excellent Content, Horrible Functionality. As I mainly get to watch videos during my commute - with spotty wifi- I tend to download videos before watching them. Although the app would seem to have this feature, it is completely useless. Nine times out of ten, a downloaded video won’t play, even if you have wifi. At all. Won’t even start. And if it ever does start, it’s so touchy that if your device switches to a new wifi area, or you need to pause and leave the app for a minute, it will cut off and not start. This has been an ongoing issue for literally years. I tried and gave up on the app 2-3 years ago. I tried again now because I really wanted to watch a few shows, but life is too short.

Advertisements despite paying ??!. Before Starz, I had Netflix. It loaded quickly and each episode started immediately, plus you could jump to the next episode by the end of the previous one. Watching Outlander now with starz can be rather annoying. Each episode starts with an advertisement of a movie,... loading takes quite a while and after every episode you have to go back two pages and look for the next episode to click on, instead of being played smoothly after the other. I don’t like paying for watching a movie and having to listen and watch the same advertisement over and over again .. fix that please as well as offering the next episode at the end ... would only make sense . Take Netflix as an example...

App Issues. The episodes don’t automatically play after another like a Netflix which wouldn’t be a bother but, the app doesn’t accurately keep track of where you left off and where you need to pick up. It has some episode showing as fully viewers, some episodes half viewed and it never leaves me on the right episode. I have to guess on where I’m at if I don’t pay attention. Maybe it’s because I’m casting from my phone to my TV but still it should be able to keep up and accurately save where I left off. Very irritating. I wish they would fix that and I’d probably keep the app. Only downloaded the app to watch Outlander. Best show ever.

App is incredibly frustrating.. You can exit the app while watching something and it’ll move the show to a little window without interruption, which is nice. But the second you go to resume full screen mode the show stops, and then takes you back several episodes’ worth in the selection screen. So you then have to scroll back through the episodes, start the one you were on, and fast forward until you get to where you were. It would also be nice if it had an option, like every other streaming service has, to skip the recaps and theme songs. If you’re going to monopolize certain shows and movies, at least be comparable to the competition.

Outlander Season Three. I just rewatched the first four episodes of season three. The writers are to be applauded; you had a difficult task capturing all of the most heart-wrenching and important parts of Diana’s outstanding novels. To all of the actors, BRAVO! I sat mesmerized and almost in tears at the end of each episode. You have truly done an amazing job bringing this story to the screen. to all of the crew, directors, and everyone involved in the making of this most excellent production, my utmost gratitude. You have given the Outlander fans quite a treat. and hopefully, new viewers will delight in this story as well. Won’t play Power!. I got this app because I wanted to watch the new season of power but for some reason it won’t play the series on my 2016 model Samsung smart tv! That was the whole reason for paying for this app and I can’t even use it for what I needed it for. It actually played the series 2 times but now it just won’t load at all plus it’s extremely slow on this tv as well. I can actually watch the other series on the app but power and other series just won’t play. It’s so annoying! I don’t know if the app works properly with this particular tv or what because it seems to work with my kids newer model Samsung TVs and they don’t even have the app selection on my 2016 model Vizo tv at all. So for me it’s just a waste of money because I can’t even watch it

Money grab. I had starz before and never had an issue. I canceled my subscription when I ran out of things to watch. Now there’s new content I want to watch so I tried to renew through the app. It let me log in and I assumed everything was fine... for three days now I’ve been trying to watch movies and ever time I click play I get a renew subscription alert. So, I click it. It pulls up the disclaimer saying is 8.99 a month, I click renew again. The screen goes back to the movies, I click a movie and play again and go through all of it again. I received an email from apple saying that I’m now being billed again. So I know it should be accessible. I’ve tried closing out the app and reopening, no effect. I’ve updated the app and closed it, no effect. I’ve deleted the app and re installed, no effect. What’s the deal starz?

Who made your application?!! A 7-year-old?!. Ok I love the content that STARZ offers, if ONLY the app worked good enough to WATCH CONTENT! Every single time I go into the STARZ app on my Apple device I have to log in to my cable provider. EVERY TIME. And NOW it will only play about a minute worth of what I’m watching before it logs me back out AGAIN. I’ve always had similar issues with STARZ and I feel like whoever makes apps that WORK for other networks that’s what STARZ needs to do! They are making money but their application is beyond subpar. I’m disgusted from going through this time after time and I usually don’t bother writing bad reviews but this is how frustrated this makes me. It makes me not want anything to do with STARZ. Get ur crap together!

Twist & turns. The Outlander series is a history lesson and love story. The characters face adversity with such strong conviction of over coming the strife of daily life in the 1700’s. Survival of the fittest was never more prevalent and yet they manage to live, and thrive in very precarious times. Disease, wild animals, scoundrels, native Americans are constantly crossing their paths. The family unit is central to these folks. Extended family they bond with makes them stronger. I am so pleasantly surprised and admire the amazing acting skills of this cast! I’m looking forward to the next season. Well done and thank you all for such an amazing season again! Never works properly!!. This is the worst tv network app I’ve ever had the misfortune of having to download. Lucky for STARZ, they have content I want to watch, otherwise I would never, ever use this terrible app. I’m forced to delete it and re-download it every time I watch something because it never works properly. It asks me time and time again to enter an “optional” email address only to have a message pop up to enter a name. There is no field to enter a name! And if I enter a name into the “optional” email field or just try to move on from that page all together, a message pops up saying I must enter a valid email! Whenever I want to play something, I hit play or download and nothing happens FOR HOURS. I have to keep hitting play all day until finally the show or movie actually plays. The other buttons, such as “share” or “more info” work fine! And then, sometimes, it will start a video only to have a message pop saying the content can’t be played on my device (iPhone X), even though other videos have played all the way through, and the video will no longer play. I’ve tried to look up solutions to this but there seems to be very little info online. (If anyone has any tips to deal with this TERRIBLE app please share!)

Love Outlander. I own and have the books since I bought the first one at a 7-11 in the late eighties. The books transport one to a beautiful love story with an entirely engaging plot. When I learned of the series on STARZ I eagerly anticipated each season. Though some details are changed ( Mistress Abernathy/ Geillis was a fat momma on the island in the book) most of my favorite scenes are spot on. I am a Visual Art Specialist/ artist and the visuals ( scenery , costumes, sets) are stunningly beautiful in each episode. I applaud the work especially of the actors who bring Claire and Jamie to life. Kudos to you all . So when will Season Four air, please?

Problems connecting. Today I went to use the app and it wanted me to sign into my cable provider AGAIN! I entered the information and it came back to the same screen... to login with cable provider. I separately (on safari) logged into my cable provider to verify my password and my account being up to date. It was all okay but the STARZ app is not accepting this anymore so I can’t gain access. I’ve enjoyed this app for years now and disappointed that with every update I have to login again and frequently have problems.

Awful App. First off, the app has not been saving my progress when I watch shows. It resets itself and does not even show up under “continue watching”. I then have to try to remember what episode I was on and where I was at. Very frustrating to say the least. Next, the app doesn’t even work half the time. It logs me out and when I try to log back in a box pops up that says “error forbidden”. Like what does that even mean? And when I try to use my internet browser to log in, it tells me multiple times my subscription needs renewed and it sure doesn’t. I have to hit log in repeatedly for it to log me in. Once it does I can’t even watch anything because it redirects me back to the app which is just a black screen. Terrible. Absolutely hate this app.

Great content, terrible interface. There’s a lot of movies I enjoy here. The frustrating part is finding movies I like, the interface just shows me the exact same content over and over again. Even when I watch more movies the system never changes, same “recommendations”. It also does not know when you’re finished watching a movie it thinks you need to finish. The captions option is not obvious to find. Also, why can I not have the option to skip previews? I am paying for a service that I don’t care to watch previews on. If I wanted commercials I would pay for cable tv. Please work on this app because there is potential, but if I have to struggle to find content I like I will not keep my subscription.

Apple TV App. This review is for the Apple TV version of the STARZ app...while content is great, some “features” of the app are very frustrating. When watching a series, I understand the need to ask every few episodes if I am still watching, however, it is unnecessary to show me a commercial for other content each time I click continue. Also, I appreciate the ability to “skip” this commercial, however 9 times out of 10, just as I am pressing the button to “skip”, that button suddenly updates to “add to Playlist”. So, Then I have to go all the way out of whatever series I am watching, go into the playlist, remove whatever it was that I didn’t intend to add, return to the series and try to get to the current episode and continue my viewing. VERY disruptive and unnecessary steps. Please fix this in next update!

Connectivity issues. I love STARZ when I’m home and watching on my tv but once I leave the house and disconnect from WiFi the app does not even attempts to stay connected. It’s like it doesn’t want to work unless I’m connected to WiFi and that’s so frustrating. I’m always sure to keep the app updated and I even sometimes have to turn my iPhone on and off just to get my shows or whatever I’m watching back on. All of my other streaming apps works just fine and then I have this problem. I don’t want to cancel my subscription but goodness something has to give because I travel a lot and I lean towards being able to have some content while I’m away from home.

A cut above the rest. I have both the STARZ and HBO now apps. STARZ allows you to download many movies and shows from series so that when I am on a plane, traveling as passenger in a car or elsewhere, or just having WiFi issues, I can still watch my downloaded movies or series without issue. I’d be so much happier if HBO now offeredthe same. On top of that, STARZ has a good mix of oldies but goodies (from the 80’s and 90’s) as well as new releases. It’s also under $10 per month, where HBO now is $15. STARZ has been great, I never have issues with it in my apple iPad mini v 2 AND 4, and no issues on my iPhones. Highly recommend.

download and playback issues. While Starz offers a good variety of programming. The app's downloading feature is very buggy. Have had lots of trouble download a selected movie - A not enough space on the device warning would come up even when there is plenty of memory left on the device. The app has a serious picture and audio sync issue during playback - that is - if the downloaded content would even play pass the 0:00 mark at all. I am a directv customer. There is plenty of other options such as Showtime app or HBO MAX.

Don’t do it!. Don’t subscribe! Trying to quit this service is next to impossible. I’ve been trying multiple times over the last 7 months to cancel my subscription and nevertheless the next month I get charged once again! I’ve done everything you could think of, to include random suggestions online from people who are stuck in this continuing trap. I just want to quit paying for this every month. Starz if you’re reading this, please stop charging me! I’ve almost prayed to every deity mankind has thought of and have at times considered road tripping to Starz headquarters to beg at their doorsteps. I’m in my 20’s, don’t make me play this game till the day I pass from this mortal realm! Again, please stop! Consider yourself warned

It won't let me play DOWNLOADED episodes?!. It won't let me play DOWNLOADED episodes?! I was using it earlier today and watched two episodes just fine, but when I went to watch a third all I get is a black screen. And that's AFTER having to weirdly navigate through the app. I initially just went to click on the episode but it had a notification that I was using data to stream it even though I KNOW I have it downloaded. I had to go to the show, click on the episode, and THEN click downloaded because if I just hit play then it says it uses data. After clicking on downloaded it takes me to all the downloaded episodes and I then have to click on the episode again and then it DOESN'T PLAY THE EPISODE. This is the worst designed streaming app I've ever used.

App Functionality Needs Some Work. The app is a good touch to start, but they need to do some more work on the app as it messes up a bit on my TV. Every time I pause a show it has issues playing again and when I try to rewind or fast forward it freezes up and I have to exit the show and then play it again. There should also be better HD support for those using 4K/HDR supported TV’s which would probably get more people to pay for the app exclusively since there would be a major advantage over what the cable version of the networks channel actually offers since they can’t provide such a resolution like streaming tech can. Otherwise everything else is good and I would give this app a solid 5 stars once the above listed items are addressed.

App doesn’t open after update. I started my 7 day free trial yesterday. I watched 5 minutes of a movie and shut it off because I had to leave for work. This morning I opened app and it kept saying my internet wasn’t connected. In which it most certainly was connected. I went to App Store it stated that it needed an update. So I updated. Now it won’t even open. Every other app on my device has no problems opening. I even deleted apps I no longer use thinking it was a space issue. No... nothing. So I will like to cancel my subscription. Because I’m pretty sure after my 7 days is up it will miraculously open. If I can’t enjoy it for 7 days then why would I want to invest in a long term subscription? Sorry but I’m out. CANCEL this PLEASE. The App support will not open. So tell me how to get out of this. I hate to take drastic measures and cancel my card information on my App Store.
