Badassassassass.. Okay.. Out of the 30 or so Gameloft (maybe less. Haven't kept track).. This is ironically the only game I play every single day and I've never heard of 4SakenMedia so... Granted you cannot move, but that isn't affecting my rating because that is obviously not the point of the game. The point is to get from the apartment to the army base. Anything not including the objectives would be for personal preference. So when I see people give a rating of 3- Stars, I'm seeing the whining of controls... That's all there is. Preference. Alright I understand that. But I thought this was a review. Yes there is criticism, but there is also a suggestion to reviewing, otherwise this game will never get better than it already is. People should think in the objective, not subjective. I think the game's great as it is. Do I prefer my character to move? Of course. But that's not the point of the game. Rate it for what it is. And what it's not.

A hidden gem. A played this way when it first released and I couldn’t begin to describe the sense of dread and horror I felt on my first playthrough. The soundtrack and sound design pull you in for a charming and spooky experience. In a world full of easily monetizeable garbage, NYZ flicks the middle finger and tells the player that everything you own in the game is bough VIA the in-game currency. If you so choose to invest yourself into this game, the story opens up via dairy-like excerpts from the main character’s point of view as they make themselves through the city. Each weapon and item has its use. From using stronger caliber guns for bigger foes, to saving your Molotov cocktails for crowd control. I heavily recommend this game. It’s unlike any ive ever played. And I’ll keep coming back to it because there’s just nothing like it on the AppStore. Sure the graphics are muddy, but barring that, the muddiness and darkness of the color pallet only makes the game all the more terrifying to play through.

Great game but. Seems like theres too many bugs, for me at least. Whenever the game would get interupted with a phone call, when i would get back on the game the sound would be gone, checked the settings and it is unchanged. Also i cant seem to move, cant equipt any weapon, cant shoot. This has happened to me 3x already whenever i get a phonecall. I like this game but bugs needs to be fixed!!!! If youre stuck at 12th ave, what i found helpful was i normally use the brainbomb when those giant looking zombies get like 10 ft near me and i would shoot them each once or twice, if they dont die within the next 10 seconds use nade or precision bomb if u have either one equipt. Also youll see them around the beginning of the 12th ave round but dont pay too much attention to them yet because theyre too far to harm you.. As for the tunnel, im stuck there too and i havent figured put how to finish that level. Any tips anyone????

For the complainers. For the complainers out there saying "why can't we move around" or "update it so you can move". Try thinking of it this way: it already lags with a certain amount of zombies in a level, add being able to move and the app will freeze. The amount of memory it would take just to create a big enough map for moving around would be horrendous. Stop complaining, the game is fun as hell. I think thr you should be able to have the comrades help though or buy one for like 50k. But overall 5/5. Great graphics, sounds, guns, zombies :), and as I said before, fun. Get it NOW!!!!

Amazing Game. Still one of my favorites. It’s crazy this game doesn’t get more recognition. I get addicted every few years then play through the whole story in a night

Nostalgic. Played this a while back. And i mean when it dropped… my brothers and i shared an Ipod at the time. We found it cus we weren’t allowed to play COD. So we played secretly on the ipod. Man… to be back in those times..

A Hidden Gem on The AppStore. This game is legit so fun to play, I'll admit the graphics have aged quite a bit but to me graphics don't really matter. This game is worth the money!

One of the BEST and most unnoticed zombie games on iTunes. This is an amazingly fun, and sometimes spooky, game. The guns and upgrades are cool. The controls are great, and the settings are fun. I wish it would have been possible to be mobile instead of stationary, but there are always so many zombies coming for you that you'll have your hands full. I haven't had any trouble with crashing or the zoom button. I wish that they would make another, maybe set more in the city with a different character and in really well known buildings or intersections. Here's a tip...skip the riot gun and the rifle. The riot gun is pointless and the rifle is easily bested by a maxed out M-16 and Sniper Rifle.

AMAZING game, high replay value, TOP 10 of all time!. I have literally hundreds of iPhone games from the past 3 years. This one ranks in the Top-10, and is certainly #1 in the FPS category (even though you can't move your feet) and tied for 1st in the Zombie category (with Alive4Ever). Polished gameplay, good performance (on iPhone4), nice graphics (though zombies are blocky), but looks way better than even the screenshots show! I've been addicted to this game for hours on end. My only complaint: I've beaten it on normal, now I want to play through it on hard, but it won't let me without erasing my saved game and unlocked weapons on normal difficulty! Can we not have at least 2 save slots? =/

Good, but not the greatest. Wow, I can't believe people cried about the difficulty of the game. Yeah, I found it difficult, but I've also beaten it without the upgrade. The game is all about strategy and taking the right gear with you on each level. The game even hints at replaying levels to get extra money to upgrade. I guess people hate being challenged. To be honest, get the sniper rifle early and upgrade that instead of pistol. I found the sniper rifle to be a great weapon when upgraded and killing enemies fast and accurate. Right now I'm replaying the game to get the 5 star trophy and I'm dominating each level. I butchered the dark lobby level and took no damage. As that being said about the gameplay, there were many levels, challenging, good assortment of weapons. I think this game has potential. I did wish the character could move around other than in a circle. I'm thinking it would have been nice if there were some boss level zombies. Graphics aren't the greatest, but they are ok. Maybe an update of weapons like a flame thrower, rocket launcher or bazooka, bowgun. Well, that's my input on the game.

Awesome game but it freezes. Great game but the only problem is that sometimes when I'm in the middle of I level I freeze. It would be helpful if you could fix that glitch

Best free app. Lots of gameplay for a free app with no ads!

Very fun, Grab it While It's a Buck!. This games is pretty entertaining. Though it only requires you to spin in place and shoot the incoming zombies, the weapons are varied and all can be upgraded. The level designs are fairly varied, as are the zombie types, and it has a few neat variances on the gameplay (use a flare for dark levels in order to use the minimap/radar). All-in-all, I play it now and again and find myself entertained for the 10-15 minutes at a time I play it. Definetely a good value at 1-2 bucks, though just average at it's normal price of 3. Play the lite version if you're curious, but do so quickly while you can grab it for a buck!

Twitching heads and hand grenades. Perfect game. I have gone through the whole app store and gotten freebies for some time now and this is still one of the best that I have kept the whole time I have had my Ipod. Perfect execution of music, gameplay and realism as far as control. A masterpiece of the app store and one of the best games period. I have heard some complaints of not being able to move your guy... Or girl, and of the graphics. These things never even occurred to me until I saw someone write about them. The graphics are fine and not being able to move as far as running or walking fits in with the gameplay and works just right - sometimes moving just makes a game clumsy. I guess, just like any great game, you want more and I hope they do something like they did with Bug Hero's and have an extra quest version because the story mode was so much fun to play - I am kind of surprised they haven't done something like that, yet. Maybe NYZ Part 2? Some extra weapons would be fun even though they have a lot already. And maybe an additional area you can go to for the endless mode, like inside the mall.

Epic shooter. This game is totally legit. I got it free, but it's totally worth cash. More control options would be nice. But you can shoot through walls! What's up with that? Most of the complainers don't understand the controls or want to move around. First, controls. Turn by dragging. Tap where you want to shoot. Tap the radar to turn 180 degrees. Got it? Now think about being stationary. Firstly, this game is designed to be a stationary shooter. People seem plenty happy with Resident Evil, yet you really can't move in that either. Second, think about it from a dev perspective. The maps are designed to be experienced from a single point of view. To add movement, the entire game would have to be overhauled. The enemies would need to autopath, the maps would need boundaries, etc. To desire a "classic" FPS is to keep your mind closed to new ideas and concepts. I hate people who only complain about apps. Especially good ones. Still awesome though. My favorite app. Ever.

Too much grinding. Update: this game has potential, but, at the end of the day, it's just too hard, from beginning to end. Not one individual level. The entire game. It's simply too hardcore. I understand the concept, but the grind is simply too much. Hardcore gamers might enjoy it, but I only play console games in a hardcore fashion. Most idevice owners don't treat their idevice as a hardcore gaming machine and many of them are looking for a somewhat more casual experience. Without an easy mode, I pretty much give up on this game. The significant increase in difficulty with each subsequent level requires more and more grinding. Grinding in this game isn't even fun. Enemies always spawn in the same manner, so replaying levels you've already beaten once is boring and becomes a chore. But you have to keep replaying levels and upgrade your equipment in order to stand any chance of beating newer levels.

Crashes but enjoyable. I started playing again when it was updated to 64 bit. Game did not update to use the entire screen on iPhone X. I hope N.Y.Z. 2 will be update soon.

Awesome!. I love this game!!! The only thing I'd like to see changed is maybe to add the ability turn 90 degrees quickly in addition to the 180 quick turn. Too many times did a bunch of zombies rush me at near 90 degree angles with me frantically swiping at the screen. It's not much of a problem, but if you could add it, it would be nice. Playing into that fact is the general control system. I'm a good amount of time into it and not once have I had to look up or down a lot. I keep accidentally moving up or down when zoomed in and I lose my target; and before I know it they're all on top if me. You could probably reduce the amount of up/down looking ro make it easier (unless there's a part later that requires it that I haven't gotten too...) Other than those few minor things THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!

make more games like these. I like games that are compatible with my ipad. Thats all.

WOWZERS!!!. The graphics are none too shabby at all. Gameplay is smooth. Aiming style is great. Many many options to choose from. The storyline is unexpected and great. The levels are really fun and some have unexpected twists which is exciting! And there's many hours of gameplay with all the choices and a you have endless, where you fight zombies til you die. There's also different types of zombies with different abilities. Better than most things you have to pay for including Nazi zombies, I didn't even think that was all that fun on the Xbox 360 either. But this is a must have addicting game.

Not good. Not sure if they changed but when I used to play on the iPad you used to be able to move around I don’t like wing stuck in one place

I love this game. This game is amazing this is how the game is you go on a level you pick your weapons and head out when your killing zombies you haft to touch the screen. you get to fight all types of zombies. I rate this game 5 out of 5 trust me that’s how good this game is. One problem can the creators of this game can you make it where you can walk around and also can you add more blood when you bust a zombies head off. Other than that this game is very good. Buy this game now.

Simple genius. Greatest zombie game resident evil!

Complaints about this game. I noticed many people are not happy how you can’t move and the graphics. To be honest, I thought that’s what made the game unique. Being stuck in one spot while zombies approach you, plus with the soundtrack, makes it more tense and creepy. It also gives a bit of a challenge. Now the graphics could’ve done better, but it was 2010 when it released and graphics weren’t super amazing and the standards were not as high as they are today, but for me at least, it gives a nostalgic feeling. This was just my opinion on the complaints people had and overall I thought this game was amazing, fun, and like no usual zombie shooter.

BRING BACK N.Y.Z 2. I would have rated 5 stars. I love this game, I’ve been playing for YEARS. But NYZ 2 is better. For some reason there is no update to play NYZ 2 on current gen phones. PLEASE UPDATE NYZ 2.

This is a MUST own!. Even if this wasn't free, it's still a must own. The graphics are great, but what really makes this game shine are the weapons and upgrade options. After each level, you'll stop to think, "Do I upgrade this weapon, or purchase this new ability/weapon?". It's not a mindless shooter, but rather an in-depth game that will make you think about what weapon/powerup to take (later in the game) depending on the level. Sure it's pretty easy to just get past each level, but to get a 5 star rating on a level takes some thinking and strategy. Highly, Highly, Highly reccommend this!

Best zombie game I’ve played. THIS IS THE BEST ZOMBIE GAME EVER!! But I do wish you could have a partner. To help you fight

A very underrated app. This app seriously did not get enough attention. I promise you, I am not a developer or paid advertiser. I played this game and it is one of the best dollars I have spent on the app store. Awesome campaign mode (the story wasn't Uncharted or anything, played out in text, but it still carried some interesting twists near the end) with one particularly great watercooler moment (hope you have the minigun by then!). You might not like the ending if you're a serious, hardcore gamer, but it's just an iPhone game, so I say don't take it to heart that they "betrayed" you or anything. Just a load of fun, I promise you (unless it crashes or something, which never happened to me anyway).

Great or the 'price'. It's free, it's fantastic, it's scary... What more can you ask for? I think for people to ask for the developers to make our character move is not such a good idea. I think it'll just add more difficulty and problems to the game! People are already exp some crashes and whatnot and they'll prob just complain about how bad the controls are for the movement! Stop complaining and just enjoy the FREE game! Very scary indeed, so I'm just going back to the previous levels to build up scare confidents and earn money for better weapons. :) _______ Okay why is this game rated down to 3 stars now? I just finished te game and came to check if the ratings had gone up, but was shocked at the ratings! Come on, I think they did a great job! There were a few levels where it was difficult enough to make a challenging like the highway, train, suburbs, the house.... Phew barely got out of those levels. Great job foursaken, you made me brave enough to actually finish my first scary game!

All you zombies show your faces. Great music, strategy, gameplay. Inspiring work. Bravo! Endless mode needs an option to replay a level. Getting to, for example, level 12 on endless mode then getting killed and being unable to replay the level without repeating 1-11 is disheartening. Maybe allow a continuation option for the endless circuit, so we can experiment with alternate weapon strategies. Zoom is fantastic. Favorite weapons include m16 on zoom / scope, upgraded shotgun for single-shot kill at close range (dogs), proximity mines for flanking / rear temporary zombie control and grenades for lobbing into masses of zombies. Defensively the medpack is great, try to hit it 2-3 times during a level. Just a brilliant game. I give it my highest recommendation.

Great Game. I don't understand the complaints about not moving. This is an absolutely amazing game for free. Tons of weapons, numerous levels, pretty good graphics and a great storyline. Yes, there is room for improvement. Could always use more weapons, more levels, and could be more challenging. Once you have the highest level of armor and health it is almost impossible to die. But keep in mind, this game is FREE!! Give it a try, if you don't like it erase it. One recommendation, in the endless wave mode you should be able to start with more money, or at least make an easy level do you can buy all the weapons you want and go to town on some zombies.

Amazing mobile game. I have owned this game since it first was released. I love it and play it whenever I feel like blowing undead heads off. This is a definite must buy! You won’t regret it! 😄

New York Zombies. I have to admit I was cynical of this game when I first heard about because your character can't move, and I thought it would just be another zombie fps. However I strongly recommend this game due to its great story told like a journal, challenging gameplay and nostalgic arcade like graphics. Each environment is very detailed (you can see the roaches on the wall of your apartment) and the different zombie types have been animated well, no the graphics aren't as good as COD:Zombies but I've actually enjoyed the story and strategy elements of this game more and it's $10 cheaper. I strongly recommend this game for horror/ zombie/ fps/ fans. And it sells for the value price of $0! 

Great game!. First, I love this game. Its a zombie game that I believe stands on it own. There's not that much to say about complicity, just the part about you standing in one spot and only to shot around you. Besides that great game. The journal entries made in between each level is a real + because it gives you more and more detail toward the plot and over all story line. Not like other game apps that just throughs you into the fire and you don't even know what's going on. Creativeness of the zombies is also great, you got regular zombies, sprinting zombies, zombie dogs, plague spreaders lol holding traffic signs and the tall zombies that can create earthquakes. If you guys do make a second game. Make it to we're you can actual move instead of only in a circle, also when survivors appear and there are zombies, have the zombies go after the survivors. I found that part of game well the only part of the game that didn't really make since. The ending was the best I ever seen from a game in general. It was something I never would have expected. This ending is so good I can't even spoil it here! XD so if you want see the a way better ending then Mass Effect 3 pony up .99 and download this game.

I was gonna flip if this didn't work on the iPad!. Nothing to do with this game specifically, it's just that my last 5 or so purchases that all have iPad compatible in the requirements, don't work on the iPad, obviously this one does, and very well indeed. I'm the first to turn my nose up to any stationary based games, but this one smells pretty good, though you don't get to move, their are so many zombies coming at you in so many different directions, that you would hunker down(cover system) in your traditional fps where you can move anyway. ( hope that made sense?) basically I'm trying to say that the action gets so intense combined with the them of each level(story) that you soon forget about the in ability to move, in about the first minute I would say. But to the basics. It's fun, fast pace, great sound, and very responsive touch controls, even on the iPad. Def a game for the more gore than core crowed. Would love to see you all make a motion fps, but great job making something out of what some consider a beaten mule in the store, Zombie survival shooters.

Update NYZ 2. Please, make it playable. This shouldn’t be the only one able to be played, the other one isn’t able to be found (without pulling off App Store glitches, and even then it won’t download). Great amazing game, will rate 5 stars easily if updated

New York Zombies. I finally beat this game, & you pulled a Super Mario Bros 2?!? I hated that game just because of that.. However, it was fun to play from beginning to end. They should make a sequel with more zombies, more weapons, & more New York! The Mini Gun does not work at all even when fully upgraded (unless I just don't know how to work it) so don't bother using it, the Seismic charge, brain bomb, flare, molotov, fully upgraded pistol,shot gun & M16 will get you through anything this game has to throw at you anyway.. Best Advice.. Hit seismic when a huge horde is headed your way then toss Molotov's on them while they're all downed. Any still living hit em with a shot gun when you feel they're to close & hit those tall ones & fat ones with a brain bomb.. Don't bother wasting ammo on the Fat ones with street signs.. They just won't die.. Well they do.. But it takes a heck of a lot of fire power.

One of the best. This game is amazing. The music fits perfectly for the situation. The combat system sets a new standard for iPhone fps. And the hardness progression is done flawlessly. Also the storyline is interesting and realistic. My only suggestion is a duck button in the upper right corner of the screen. So when you have survivers running at you with zombies behind them you hit the button, your charactor yells duck or get down, they do, and you can shoot the zombies behind them. But other than that, amazing game. Worth alot more than the 99 cents being charged. Look forward to seeing more.

Love it. I always come back to this game every couple years and I remember playing this when it was first released back when I was in high school, great story and the gameplay is so nostalgic, I love that you guys keep it updated so it works on newer versions, this is one of the only games that I played back in the day that kept software up to date and I can still play, thanks!

Definite for zombie lovers!!!!. Ive tried to play every zombie game out there. I love zombie based horror. This game is completely worth the price. There is a very nice range of weapons to choose and get comfortable with and its awesome messing around with all of them. The story line gets intense as you progress and the game has a twist ending which i personally enjoyed. Not all zombie stories should end the same. Oh man and the music behind the game really gets you into it. Some zombies go with the timing of the song lol. I actually live in New york city so this was cool for me. Half of the game is in New jersey which is cool too. The makers should totally add more levels though!!! Oh and maybe a path where you can have an alternative ending. I promise you wont regret getting this.

Awsomee XD. Second best shooter/zombie game on touch (COD WAW Zombies being first). But this a definite app to get, love playing every moment of it, although it does take getting used to not walking XD but Awsomee

Totally cool!. Awesome game! I generally steer clear of shooting games and story games because I'm not so good at them and don't have an attention span for story games, but I love this. Good that you can redo previous levels to earn more cash and practice too! Graphics and responsiveness is really good too.

great app. Really great app! Its a lot of fun and I dont normally like zombie shooter style games. I just wish there was a reason for using other weapons, I have stuck with the same weapons since basically the first 5 levels

First iPod game atmospheric enough to give me chills!. There is so much to like about this game - it is very moody with great graphics and sounds; a thrilling experience to take head shots and judge when you need to spin around. Love the upgrade system. WANT: more levels and upgrades; ability to aim by tilt. BAD: the game has crashed a couple of times in the park level (no other areas yet). Brilliant game!

Amazing game I thought I got for free.. The only 3D shoorter on the ipod/phone worth buying. Large arsenal, decent moblie graphics and shagadellic gameplay. XD

Needs more settings and options. This is a great game and all, but I have problems seeing anything when the sun is behind me. Some levels are far too shadow heavy, and it would be great if they could add some brightness and contrast controls into the options menu. Also maybe adapt it so it actually is a rail shooter. :)

Great game. Squeal has better graphics, but game play & difficulty level settings are way better is this version. Also original does annoy you with all the stupid extra pay options that ruin the new game

How is this NOT top 10?. This game is totally UNDER RATED. It's incredible! Many levels, guns, enemies and perks, frequent updates, excellent controls and gameplay! Will keep you entertained for long time! Oh and it's only a dollar!

Reply. The tumor zombies are easy just shoot them in the head a couple of times. With the rail guns it's only 1 shot. Anyways VERY GOOD app.

Incredible!. The game is fun, addictive and has alot of weps and percs..a truly awesome game but i agree about endless mode not being able to save :/....also there is a lag issue everytime i firy up the minigun which is anoying when trying to kill lots of zombies at once, could this be fixed ASAP? otherwise awesome 5 stars+ guys..great work

Amazing. I love this game it has a great scary environment, lots of weapons with upgrades, lots of levels, plenty of zombie types, very challenging gameplay, great controls and I love how you can shoot through walls which makes me seem like a boss when I pull it off. I also can't wait till no. 2 comes out with coop, better graphics, you can move around, better story and more.

Love it. Hard enough to keep u entertained, and wanting more. You can't move but that's part of the challenge. Would recommend if you like to shoot with accuracy. Defibately love the chainsaw!! Only problem thus far is the location of the zoom button... I find myself pressing it when I mean to either press the arrow to where a zombie is hittiing me, or change to a weapon under it.... Annoying when your fighting hordes of zombies! That said, perhaps locating it near the top? Thanks to the makers, it's well worth the $1.19!!

AWESOME ZOMBIE GAME. This is the best zombie game besides COD zombies and would recommend it to zombie fans. **********SPOILERS********** Just finishes it but could there be an update for more levels since we were actually playing his dream and we saw him wake up and there were zombies coming at him again. I really want to play that bit and you could maybe make up another story for when we finish the dream part. I would even pay or the update do this u just a sugestion.

Gr8 game!!. I totally recommend it! Great game, must buy. The only real problem with this game is that you can't move. but don't let this make you rethink buying this one, it is a very good zombie killing arcade game, a large variety of zombies and weapons to kill them with, and the storyline is ok too. Get it!

Great!. I must have for people who like FPS's. Now yes it doesn't let you walk around, but so what? I think it works very well on iPods/iPhones. Granted, on the iPad it would be a good addition. But i'm happy the way it is and I have it on iPod and iPad.

This game is great!. Sure the grafics aren't perfect and all of the surviors look the same, but the setpeices and zombie types are inspired with and nice story in the campain mode. There should have been a search for surrplies mechanic and of course the total restricions on movemet do hinder it slightly, the varied weapondry and that great music make it a great atmospheric zombie horror shooter. There's no avoiding the left 4 dead infulences though. Endless mode is bruttaly hard and thereo should a difficlty setting for it. I like the Figurines like anomation for the unlockable acheivemes. Dispite the minor problems discribed earlier this is a fun app with tonnes of fun to be had. Bring on the sequel!!!!

Zombtastic Game :D. This app is definantly worth money (even though I got it free), as the gameplay is smooth and action packed. The game has a gripping story line and easy controls. Some ppl might find the game slow to start with, but that is because the first few levels are getting you used to the game :P Yes, the graphics might not be the best, but it's probably why this game is smooth :D The soundtrack to go with it is also amazing. There is just so much to this game, with level ratings, weapons, powers, story line, endless mode, leader boards and more. The only 2 things i think this game could improve on is its graphics (but not if it's gonna make it glitchy) and the fact, some zombies go through walls (This happened in the hallway level and a few other levels) where you shoot a zombie with a gun that knocks them back and they go through the wall. Overall, an amazing game :D 5 stars from me!

Love it. I really like this style of shooter! FPS's can be a bit awkward on the iPhone but as you aren't able to move it's more a Zombie Defence game. Well done!

Excellent. There is a variety of weapons and levels which makes weapon selection mug more interesting. The only downside I have is the controls. I find that turning around 180 degrees when you don't want to is a pain and the control pad is pretty small. Hopefully it'll be updated so the controls are smoother

Thanks for the update!. This was one of the best games I've ever touched. I sunk countless hours as a young teen into this app, and even today I can't recommend it enough. Turn off the lights, get comfy in your bed, and prepare to be engrossed in one of the best atmospheres a mobile game has ever delivered.

Booo. Have more levels and longer story line butane weapons and places but overall this game is pretty good for relaxing on a nice day whilst killing zombies hahaha get this game and you won't regret it

A surreal experience. This is a masterpiece. The setting in abandoned New York is a quite used method but this game makes you feel scared like you are the person, you are his companion, his conscience. The chilling alone atmosphere combined with chilling music creates a zone which you enter while playing this that makes you part of the story not the person but you. The storyline is something from a writers nightmare which truly brings this game to life. Overall: Graphics: 8.5/10 Overly low quality but barely effect the game if you are truly engrossed in it, your mind filling the blanks left from the graphics. Sound: 10/10 A truly chilling soundtrack combined with the eerie sounds from a dead city makes the game what it is. Gameplay 9/10 The gameplay is a new fresh style that also plants you in the game making you feel helpless like you would in real life. Story 10/10 A deeply moving, gothic story is what truly drives this game into your mind and your heart. Misc 9.5/10 List of trophies keeps you into the game a little while longer after finishing the story. The endless mode is really good for a drop in and play mood. While not being able to turn the sound off lags my old first gen device caused horrors later on with the mini-gun it was alright for the rest of the weapons.

Awesome. I've had this app for ages, and I must say that the last level is way too easy! Just take out your nades, your minigun and your Railgun. In contrast, the survival mode is hectic. Pure fun, regardless if your skill level.

ok ish. Ok game, but really annoying and hard. Takes too long to reload the guns, and you often find yourself dead because of it. Also, you can't move, which limits your defense.

I  N.Y.Z.. I got this during free app a day a while back thinking that this was some lame knock off game or some glitchy disaster. This was surprisingly amazing. The difficulty steadily increses as you progress forcing you to change your tactics each level and upgrade your inventory. It's great! It's addictive and challanging. I would recomend this to anybody. The only issue I found was lag when the minigun was used but WHO CARES?!? the game is to great to complain about that!

Best game seriously. I got this app a long time ago & I still enjoy it :) it isn't too graphic heavy, but I like the pivoting. It never lags ever. Worth the $. An update would be nice since Iv completed the game about 13 times xD More maps please :)

Fantastic Despite a Few Missed Opportunities. This was my first zombie game for my iPhone and I'm very impressed. It runs smooth on my 3G considering all the textures present and rarely stutters. There's a ton to upgrade in terms of weapons and abilities and the money earned vs. upgrade prices are extremely fair. It's a pleasure to play. In terms of improvement to make this a five star application I'd like to see a few things, the first being a sensitivity slider in settings. Sometimes it's a sluggish to make a quarter turn. It's also a bit difficult at times to keep track of where an enemy is hitting you because of the way the minimap works. The player dot is so large it blocks out the dot of the enemies beside you making it difficult to determine the location of them. The voice acting of the survivors could also be improved in one of two ways. You could play up the campy aspect of the game (and genre) or focus on refining it to a more professional standard. Either way would be great but I think a campy direction that pokes fun at itself as well as exploiting cliches would be successful. An idea for a passive ability would be an increase in radar range. And finally, one very, very picky suggestion, remove the periods from the application name on the iPhone home screen. They letters are kerned in an odd way (not the developers fault). NYZ as a name would be more than fine. Despite the shortcomings I listed here I'd readily recommend this game to anyone looking for a shooter, a zombie game, or something to pass some time. I can see myself playing this one for a while and it's certainly an app worth it's price.

Its Alright. This game is a descent one, but once youre done the game, there really is no replay value. I usually will buy games where it looks as if I will replay it even AFTER I already beat the game, All in All the story mode disappointed me as well as survival did not grip my mind the slightest bit. The graphics for the game, for any game, can always get better but I dont think that is a main issue, one thing I noticed is when it does stutter is always when a zombie is near you, when it freezes for a quick second the damage still counts, Allin All, it is a descent game, but I really dont play it anymore.

Nyz. There are goods and bads about this game. first the goods: great storyline, lovely arsenal of weapons and upgrades, different zombies. Bads: you can't move, graphics arnt very good. Also I just can't get past the subway tunnel no matter what, even with the minigun!

NYZ or CODZ?. Personally, zombie games are the best. Whether it be a 2D or top down arcade zombie shooter or a 3D massacre, they are just so much fun. I bought this while it was free and enjoyed its new style. It's different, pivoting instead of moving. NYZ was very enjoyable until halfway through when everything was unlocked. It kinda got stale from there. So if you're like me and like to sit back and slay zombies, this is a cheap and fun alternative. But if you're serious and like setting up a camp in a corner or running at all, Call Of Duty Zombies is for you (if you don't mind the price).

Panning is terrible. Game is ok, but you shouldn't move your finger to the left to pan left. It's just not natural. You should be able to drag the scenery, like you would scroll in a browser.

Incredible game!. It's insanely good. Lots of weapons, many different kinds of zombies, weapons upgrades, great soundtrack and effects. You can even replay level to earn more cash to buy more stuff. Can't believe I actually got this game for FREE. Well worth some $1 if that was the case.

3javaE. A great 5 star game right up until the last update. Controls are now quite buggy and switching weapons is now noticeably delayed and player dies as a consequence. Very frustrating! Fix it and it will be a five star once again.

Not what I was expecting.. From what I had read in the description, I had thought this would be a 3D zombie sandbox game where you free roam a city. (which needs to be made, btw) it's an okay game, the graphics are great and the combat system is cool. What's with the Halloween thing? Allow for alternate endings. Devs: allow plot choices, sidekicks, female survivors, hired guns cameo appearance such as the terminator, the predator, batman and robin etc. rocket launcher, smarter enemies, nets to catch zombies, prey items to lure out zombies ie horse, dog, neighbor's kids, a survivor you don't like, etc turrets with lasers or bullets. I am playing hard level at the farm house, but so far no monster boss worth fighting, ie stay-puffed marshmallow sized godzilla zombie...tentacle zombie, zombies fighting other zombies, etc Good job so far, game well worth the price.

Very Good!. When I first played I though it was gunna be pretty good with little story, but then I soon found out it was one of the best games I've ever played. Multiethnic weapons and other gadgets to help you out with multiple upgrades. The game is long which is good. And the story is so well written and played. I fell like I was actually living it. All in all it was a very well made game too bad I bought it when it was $5. Oh well. P.S. There is a twist at the end!!

Fun fun & addicting!!. I've played this game pretty much non stop. I thought bc it's free the levels would run out. I can't even tell u what level I'm on but def been playing for a total of 3hrs & it's still going. Get it while it's free. The developers, awesome job guys. No complaints here at all. Great app!. Get this while it's free!! It has a good gun choice, great storyline (though I wish it was even longer!!). My only problem is that although it's fun for the first half being able to make a lot of money easily, once everything is upgraded there isn't much left to buy. It could be better if there was an extra spot for sale.

GREAT GAME!!!!. I never write reviews but this game is almost perfect. I just wish that when u tap the mini-map it wasn't just back and forward u should be able to press left and right to move where u want faster. It's especially hard on the cornfield level to get lined up to the right spot but other than that this game is very fun and very addictive!! Hoping for new guns and power updates with new levels. Best Zombie Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. This game is great, but needs more improvements. The graphics are alright, sometimes when the zombies fall, they look like paper, their limbs are flat, so graphics could be improved. Second, it would be amazing for the game to be optimized for Retina display, so it can look good onmy iPod 4G. And lastly, there should be more game modes, other than endless mode and the story mode. It's kinda boring for just two game modes. There should be more modes added. The game is still great, it's one of my favorite zombie games, but there should be more improvements. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME!!!!!!:D

Wow. This game us amazing, I got it for free tho. Amazing game play, it sounded like a spoil when it said you were in a fixed position but it did not affect the game, you still have zombies coming at you in all different directions making it a fun challange. Another thing was the story of the diary it was fantastic and kept me wanting more. And lastly great weaponary selection needeing certain weapons to beat certain levels. Awesome Game!. This is a highly addicting game. It has an acual story line and is not just a run and gun shooter. That's ironic though because you can't run in this game but that doesn't reduce the game experience at all. It acually adds to the suspense since you can't just run from trouble when things start to get rough. The game also adds an RPG element in since you can upgrade your weapons along the way which will keep the game experience fresh and exciting throughout. Overall this is well worth the money and you won't be dissapointed!

Best buck spent this week. It's kind of a pretty fugly game to be honest, but gameplay-wise it does almost everything right. An excellent presentation that takes you along a satisfying journey; easy to use, well-thought-out controls; upgrades and no damned IAP walls. My only complaint, really, is the zombie that throws stuff at you. Not only is it cheesy, it's too difficult to find his location because he's set so far in the background. Still, if you're looking for decent atmosphere and a bunch of zombies to shoot, you can't do better for a buck.

Completely amazing!!!. One of the best, if not the best game I have bought on my iPhone and at one dollar this is a friggin steal. Please make another one!!! And I bet you could try your hand at letting the player move too, or some different concepts. Also I love the fast paced, no lag, (almost even console) like feeling you get when playing this game. And lastly I want to tell everybody that graphics are not what makes a good game, I mean granted good graphics are nice but what really makes a game stand out, aside from its appearance, is gameplay. I have noticed a common trend in games is, the worse the graphics are, the more fun and addictive it is to play, and thus the more I enjoy it. I also really love the concept of buying guns and being able to upgrade them.

Perfection. This has got to be one of the best games I've ever played on my iphone. It has great music and sound, decent graphics, and AMAZING gameplay. Even the story was really dramatic and emotional, not to mention epic. I sincerely hope the developer makes additional story modes or some other addons. I would pay at least 5 bucks for this game (maybe with some upgraded graphics and whatnot). A very extensive and detailed game that you will not regret downloading, especially since its free.

love this game!. At first i expected it to be boring because your character is stationary, but its awesome! i enjoyed every part of it especially the plot. I recommend it to anyone who loves zombie games. its worth the price! Great game. When I got this, it was $1.99. I thought maybe it would go up to at least $5 but it went up a dollar. Now it's .99. I won't be buying new apps right away anymore. Get it while you can for .99. The weapons are plentiful and you can upgrade them many times to make them stronger and add more ammo capacity. Although you can't move besides look around, you'll have too much fun shooting zombies to even let that bother you. The graphics are pretty good for a mobile game. Show me the carfax.

Stunned! . Best iphone shooter interface that i have ever seen! Story was excellent. Ending was a bit dull made me dissapointed but did not take away from the experience. If you had to pay for this then I would gladly, the upgrade system was perfect. The only problem I encountered was the chain gun. My fingers cover then entire zombie so I cant see if I'm hitting him or not which makes me lose my kill streak hit streak. GREAT GAME

Rather lame and lacking. The game is rather lame. First off you cannot move, which makes the first rule of surviving a zombie attack "cardio" null and void. secondly if you like and inverted control style you are in for a disappointment since the only invert option makes both left and right opposite as well as up and down, unless I'm missing something. I'm glad I didn't spend more than a buck on this game, otherwise I'd be really disappointed. The game is somewhat amusing for what it is, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who likes free rome games. As soon as I downloaded the game and read that you are stationary I thought: "Seriously?" It's my bad for not getting the demo first. I don't see how anyone would want to play this over COD Nazi Zombies :-p

Creepy atmosphere and tons of upgrades make this great for a bite. This game is fun. Hands down one of the best Zombie shooters out there. It's similar to the ideas of House of the Dead or CoD: Zombies, but you're in a fixed position. However, this DOESN'T detract from the quality! Easy controls, plus tons of levels and upgrades make this incredibly addicting. This is really no-brainer if you're looking to satisfy your brain-munching habits. Get it now! However, it would be sweet if additional content were added (even if this is a a bit older of a game now).

Okay. I think it's great with the creativity but it was really hard for me and does not have that much levels or maps for endless wave mode I also wish you could move and I want no stupid people getting in my way this review is a 2 star reiveiw but set aside the guns are really good and they did what they promised if this was free I would rate it 5 stars but most of all I do not agree on the one dollar it might be nothing but a lot for an app there have been free apps that have the adventure ten times as much

Superb. First off it's a zombie game, so if your younger than 8 you may not go to sleep that night, but it's NOT scary. It has some blood and gore, but I would let my 7 year old sister play. It has a super upgrade system, and can take hours to master. It has a pretty long story, and it's not cheesy at all!! The story is told in diary logs. It is well worth the $0.99 and has great room for future content. Over all it is a great game. It has blood and gore, and scary images, and a scary story, but that is all. The Best. N.Y.Z has a great story, the author was really thinking when he wrote it. The game gives u more than one gun to take at a time. The game might look weak and easy at the beggining but as you go on you'll have to start building up some skill. I recommend people to play this game. I still play it and it's just a time killer, this kills my most boring moments of my day. I am hoping there is a sequel and that it is better then the first one. Get the app free before they find out this can be a way of earning money.

Pretty good. Thought it would be kinda lame but turned out to be fun and quite addictive. It's simple and the upgrades are cool too, graphics aren't that great but who cares. The only major problem I have is I've accidently hit "new game" a couple times and I've had to start the entire storyline all over again. It would be nice if there was a feature that asked if you are sure you want to start a new game.

Best Free App Ever?!. Probably one of the best free apps in the app store. The only reason someone would rate this less than five stars is if they want to move in game, complaining about sometimes slow frame rate, or complaining about being stuck. This game scared the crap out if me when I first played it, but now it's really fun. Download it now- you won't be disappointed.

Eyyyyyooo!!! Ello govnA!!!!. Here's the story.... This is the BEST game for free evrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! Omg it's sooo addicting and fun! It's lik I almost cnt put it down. Get it before it's not free anymore!! Hurrry!! What can u lose! Update: ok I just finished the game!! It was crazy awsome! I was expecting the last level to b impossible but it wasn't it was perfect. I just can't believe it was all a dream.. I was expecting a bettr ending lik a cure for him but it was still 10 out of 5 stars good so I'm happy.

Just one big problem. This is a really fun game, but it's become almost unplayable with the recent addition of the zoom button. I have to admit, I never could get the zoom to work before, but I never needed the zoom. If you could just make this feature optional, I would give this five stars. The problem with the zoom button is that it is in a spot where I press it alot when I'm turning, or shooting a zombie off to the side. This messes me up and then it seems impossible to press the zoom button while not getting killed. Even moving the zoom button right next to the weapon bar or in the top right corner would help.

i loved it. i got about 3 hours of playing time out of this app in just the campaign. now i just occupy myself with surviver mode. Best freakin storyline for an ipod app yet!! it took me a few hours to get my mind off the ending just cuz it had the most awesome bad@ss ending. Theres a wide variety of guns. i just wish there was a bit more variety in the gameplay. but other than that, its a steal for .99$ ..... i hope foursaken media makes a second game.

Don't miss out, get this game. At first glance I thought this seemed a bit uninteresting. But being the zombie fan I am and lover of free ( at least when I got this) games I tried it. Then I was plugging my iPod back in because the battery was done. I was hooked and this game got under my skin. Tons of weapons, challenging game play and loads of fun. Your weapons can all be upgraded and there are a lot of them. The only issue I had was occasional frame rate chugging when there wa a lot going on. Otherwise this is very easily a 5 star game especially for zombie killing fans. What a fun game. 4+ stars

Incredible.... I have always been a zombie hunter since I was little. Shooting zombies is a satisfying rush and brings me great tribulation. New York Zombies displays all the fine characteristics of a classic video game. Minor zombies, big zombies, zombies that resurrect other zombies, fat zombies, ground shaking zombies and so on give me all the variety I need to have a bloody good time. And if that's not enough I totally dig the music score, it's well thought through and the levels are put together beautifully. Pick up this game if you want to have a great time for hours, trust me.

I am using this on my iPad and I can't put it down. It is simpy amazing. I would have paid 5 bucks had I known this was so good, long ago. But for free? Come on, what a great Halloween gift. Great job devs! You guys rock. I would totally love to see it upgraded to universal, but even on the iPad as is, it rocks my world. What is it now? Like a buck? Just buy it. Amazing game. This is a great shooter that is easy to control, fun to play, challenging and deep. The gameplay doesn't involve moving the character, instead just standing in one place and aiming, so it is very easy to control with the touch interface. There are loads of weapons, an adventure and an endless mode for variety and the graphics and plot are very well done. One of the best games I've found for the iPhone. Definitely worh a couple of bucks if not more.

For real.... I was going to play on my lap top but I put that down to play a level and b4 I know it I played for 3 hours!!!! Holy cow, sugar cookies!!!!! It crazy fun, insanely awesome story line( i don't like the end) , amazing graphics, awesome guns and upgrades, and over all the BEST zombie app I ever played in whole life! This game is too good for gold! Please make more of this!! I also love the trophys! They have great pictures and hard to get, which I like! I think this should be in the top 3 apps! Now buy it and go blow zombies away, or burn them, make them BOoOoOom! Why are you still reading this? You should have already bought NYZ. Tú pintas casas rojos!! Oh and I don't want to run around, I like it still!

Awesome!! I've never enjoyed blasting away zombies more. I was fortunate to get this game while it was free, but still well worth $.99! The game offers many hours of fun (and intense!) gameplay and I never get bored of it! Only problem is that it crashes sometimes, but still a great game. I actually like the fact you can't move around, makes things interesting haha. The ending's kinda lame but I like that it has a story regardless. Great game!!!

One of the best. I've played it off and on during breaks at work over the past 2 or 3 days and have found it hard to stop playing when I needed to. It's addicting! Great game! Definitely worth the mone...oh yeah...it's free!!!!! Noc2turnal: I beat the whole game using the pistol, M16, Sniper Rifle, Rail .Gun, Flares, and Medpack (all upgraded fully asap). The only changes I made was the minigun for the flares on levels that the flares aren't needed. Hope that helps.

Needs updates!. This app is extreamly addicting. It does need to move but it isnt required but it would be a lot more better if it had continues updates. Everytime i used my flare it wouldnt work the first time. Cool stuff would be Multiplayer - Have up to 4 players in the same spot at an extreme difficulty. OR make a scoring system and have leaderboards. Another great idea is when you upgrade ur weapon in the sticky note when you hit the question mark it should tell you what happens when you upgrade it.

Great game!. I've played threw this gam many times and its still awesome. I got it back in 2010 when it came out. Im a huge zombie fan! I didn't like when they had the halloween version back then with the heads shot off.(couldn't change it on/off back then) But it's still a great worth the money i paid. I still a few trophies but the ones i have look cool. Im missing two endless and apocalypse finish.

Addicting. I've had this game since 2010 or so and I've beaten it a couple times; it's a big favorite! It's a fairly simple game so if you're looking for nice graphics you won't find it here. You're standing in one spot but the angles and scene will change from level to level, as well as the weather and time of day. You'll have a line up of weapons you can use during the match so you do have to be think it out before. There's a nice variety of zombies which is really nice!

N Y of the Dead. NYZ is a survival zombie game where the player rotates the camera and shoots oncoming zombies. The more you play, the more money you can earn to upgrade and buy new weapons. I enjoy how the player cannot actually move, only rotate the camera. This makes the game much more intense and reminds me of old Resident Evil games. The graphics are cheesy (in a good way) and make the game fun to play. It actually looks a lot like House of the Dead. The graphics look bad during the tutorial with no graphics for the sky and bland texture on the ground. This made me almost stop playing the game... But luckily the actual game looks better and is more original and detailed. There are survivors that you are supposed to avoid, but they look too similar to the zombies. To me, they do not look human. Also when zombies are close to the player, there are some serious clipping issues. There are way too many zombie games for the iPhone, but if you are into the genre, this is one of the better titles I've played.

Great but needs work. I love this app its fun and addictive. But you need to add a couple more features. You should be able to buy an extra weapons slot, and make the weapons info more detailed telling you what every upgrade level make the firearm do. And finally you should be able to hold your finger on the screen and fire in full auto without having to continually tap the screen.

Addicting!. Even though you can't move it's a real addicting! To be honest I was only playing so I could read the journals! The story is what makes it addicting! After every mission I have to play the next because it's just suspensful and I want to know what happens! Reccomendation though! If your going to make a sequal add movement, more of an RP and up the graphics just a Tad you don't even have to but make it a zombie RP and that'd be amazing!

It's petty good. The beggining is slow but that's just to show you how to play. Occasionally freezes/crashes. Make the minimal easier to turn on because if I press one spit to turn on it, it sends me in the whole other direction. Also needs more endless levels, for the first one gets very boring, very fast. Also, in the end, when he says the streets are perfectly normal, and zombies break down his. Wouldn't the streets be full of zombags if they broke down hiis door ?lol. Anyway, it's a really fun ap

A few problems. I'm fine with the stationary way the game works love the tap instant turn arounds and arrows to monsters that hit you switching weapons alot while others reload, it's addicting. Higher up in lvls they come really fast. Problem is unable to stop projectiles from certain zombies it's not very encouraging having damage you can't avoid. And there is NO save feature, if you accidently hit start instead of continue it will erase the current lvl and start over. Other than that 5 star graphics gameplay storyline and zombie killing fun can't wait to see updates

Addictive game pkay. This is a really cool game that That looks simple at first, but the sheer number of weapons and upgrades makes it interesting. While you can"t move, the fun comes in trying to cover numerous different angles and rotate your weapons while they reload. Grenades seem fairly useless but it's fin trying out the different weapons and finding your favorites. I like the sniper rifle myself. There are lots of levels with different challenges -- if you die on one level change your equipment or go back and do the same level until you can afford upgrades.

A very nice brain-blowing zombie hack and slasher!. I enjoyed it to the end, but endless mode is unbelievably hard! I can't make it past wave 5, and getting 5 star at every level is also next to impossible! Please fix and add more upgrades (I had bought and fully upgraded everything about 8 levels before the final level). P.S. Being able to move around instead of sitting in one place would be cool too.

Excellent. Very nice,this game is presented well though some models on the zombies could have been better. This game really shine in the gameplay aspect. I agree that you should be able to move around a bit considering some zombies throw rocks that you can do nothing about. This is a must have app that needs a sequel(HINT to producer) even though there are few problems it is a great app for any left4dead fan or fps fan out there. Buy now

awesome game. this game is great. i jus beat it. the weapons i used are fully upgraded rail gun (very useful in takin out the tall and fat guys, a zoomed shot will kill in 1 hit), mini gun, fully upgraded M16 (definitely recommend using), fully upgraded shotgun, poximity mine (interchanged with brain bomb for the 1 lv where your in the neighborhood and at the end like 30 zombies surround you), and fully upgraded seismic charge/flares. if your having trouble beatin lvs try these weapons. they work great for me

AWESOME. It is perfect!!!! I love it, it is the perfect difficulty, challenging yet not so challenging that you get mad and stop playing. It is so creepy, in a great way. I Love the music along with the whole story. I just wish it was a little longer, I'm kinda bummed out that Ive already beat it 3 times, yet I'm not getting bored beating it again. I would recommend this to anyone. I have not yet found another game on the app store as good as N.Y. Zombies.

Great Game. This is one the best games I have, it rivals the ones I actually play on consols. There are tons of guns and items and upgrades. And I would play it so much just to beat a single level that my battery would die. And when it allowed music, The game would never last more than an hour and a half, but that was actually good thing. In short, if you want a good game for a dollar, don't look any futher.

Fantastic job.. Foursaken, I aplaud you for making a game as awesome as this. I could not put my device down for hours. If given a choice between being able to move, or being stationary, I would definitely choose to be stationary. I mean, in a game like this, where would you move to anyways? I thought the ending was quite creative and different. This is a quality zombie game, and I highly reccomend it to any fan of zombie shooters,

Great Zombie game..!. When I first downloaded the lite version, I wasn't so into it right away but I gave it a 2nd chance and now I ended up buying this great game. Sure you don't get free roaming but that's ok, the graphics are great and the music to it really adds in that Zombie atmosphere and I really got into the story. If you're a Zombie fan, get this game. I already beaten it on normal mode and now I'm struggling on Apocalypse mode which is what I like. For 3 bucks...just get it already!

Great but needs more. It's a great zombie game but common I knw this game can be more better on the graphics & the sound effects make it like left 4 dead the sounds freak u out make it more like that also the blood make it more realistic when it splatters in your screen also when a zombie hits you & your about to die make your screen red with blood common developers you can nail this game Pleasee update it add sweet effects

Not that bad but many flaws. The game has some not so great graphics. I can never tell a survivor from a zombie because they both run like crazy at you and the text isn't that bold sometimes. Minigun is one of the worst weapons in the game and causes it to lag a lot. Replayability is extremely low. Not being able to move in different directions is sorta lame and some of the places you're positioned at are retarted. These are the biggest negatives but the game is entertaining until you beat it. Worth playing beware these flaws.
