Nice Compact Little App. I always need to have my plant lists and keeping paper lists for seed starting, transplanting, harvest dates, and seed shopping throughout the whole season makes them super messy, lost or forgotten. This is an awesome app because I can take out my phone, pull up my lists and I can do it anywhere. In the garden or in the store. No messy, lost or forgotten lists. The reminders I get by email or on my calendar are set for my Montana Zone 4a planting times. I winter sow a lot of my seeds so the dates for starting indoors are the dates I set up my seeds in my winter sowing containers. Each plant i.e. Tomato, can be set up with each variety i.e. Brandywine Black, German Johnson, etc. for all your seeds. No more buying more of the variety you already have and wasting time and money. This app is wonderfully supported by the developer he gets right back to you. He's available by email or phone. I like to design my garden on paper so if you want an app that you can design your garden on, this isn't it. No yearly fees either!

Most amazing little app. I’m a serious gardener with a very large garden that provides all vegetables for our family and we sell and give away excess. This app is my favorite ever and the recent update that allows me to snap a pic of my seed pack (even on my saved seeds) is so helpful. I sow hundreds of seedlings each year and it’s so easy to keep track of them. Thank you! I run a countywide food gardening group and recommend this for beginners and experienced gardeners.

Adding Plants. Once you add a plant you are not able to edit information about the plant. You are unable to delete and start over. You have one shot to get it right. Also plants are limited to just general name. You have to add type and additional information.

Easy to use but….. Very simple and easy to use though the planting suggestion based on Zones for me being 5b central Colorado are so far off. For example telling me to transplant seedling into the garden. The typical last frost is not until May 30th 7-8 weeks from now. Soil temps are below 50F right now. So adding plants they show up as planted when they are actually just seeds being started and no way to override. Ap needs some serious work.

Ok. Need more plants listed or at least the ability to add a plant and add your own information. Need to add flowers as well and auto calculate someone’s growing zone by putting in their ZIP Code.

Great app. Great app, lots of info. Love how it tells me what's a good plant to plant for each month.

Almost perfect. I’ve found this app helpful to keep me organized and has nearly everything I would like. I love the planting suggestions for my area and the wish list with separate garden list. A couple thing I’d love to see added: the ability to add a quantity if you add a plant directly to the garden list. The ability to make a custom plant that isn’t on your list (love that you can edit harvest time and variety though!). Might be helpful to have the ability to see a spreadsheet of all your plants by week, month, year. Thanks for creating a useful app!

Luv gardening. Great app, wish it showed pics of the vegetable when you select to add to your list.

Worth it. I really like this app. It has been very helpful in planning, planting...basically managing my garden. The only thing I wish I could do is create a "to do list" of what I would like to plant for each season. Even with out that, this app is very helpful.

Love it!. A perfect planting scheduler and log that allows you to add your own plants to the database.

Best Garden Recording App. I have been using the app for about a year. As I have added containers to my garden the app is perfect for keeping track of what is planted, expected harvest date, seed starts. I love the diary for recording

Pretty cool, worth buying. I plant seedling as a hobby (hopefully someday as business) I'm using the app to parallel my written journal. I love all the info they have on varieties, I was able to advise a friend on planting tips for a veggie I don't plant. Great resource! I will bump this up a star to five at end of season most likely. Great pair to lunar planting app

Excellence. I've been looking everywhere for a good garden planning app for beginners, and this is by far the best I've found for telling you when to plant what, according to your zone. Lots of other helpful tips, too...

Pretty good so far. I am excited to use this coming up for fall and spring. I would love to see Bell Peppers added - only see Chili Peppers and I’m not sure if it is the same parameters or not.

Perfect!. Exactly what I wanted! A way to keep track of what I've planted & when as well space as any growing notes... Has plenty of info on plants as well. Updated version allows you to add your own plants which is great so I can track the progress of my flowers too!! Thanks!

Love it!. I am loving this app. It’s fairly simple once you get used to it. I love the companion planting, and succession planting notes. You can add other plants, pictures, and information to the app as well which has made it super useful to me… being able to print out the ‘information sheet’ would also be nice for our situation but not absolutely essential for everyone. I do wish you could sort items by the bed/place they were planted … my planting gets a little crazy and sometimes it would be nice to be able to sort by beds so I could figure out what I have growing. I definitely recommend this to others and love telling people about… great work!!!

Finally!. I have downloaded many of the other garden apps trying to find one that ultimately would let me make notes in the calendars. This was exactly what I was looking for, too bad it look me a month into the growing season to find it!

Just what I needed!. I know it's not free, but it is soo worth the money!! It's just like having your great grandmother in your pocket with all her helpful gardening knowledge :) it's very specific!

Only for Veggies. This app is limited to maybe 50 vegetables. There are no annuals or perennials. That would have been nice to know on the front end.

Harvest dates are not accurate. I live in the PNW, and entered my growing zone, but the harvest dates are wrong. I'm guessing the app cannot determine between a Seattle zone 7 and a sunnier/hotter zone 7.

App looks okay, no one responding to issues.. My partner and I both bought it and thought we can connect it and shared our garden but it doesn’t work. And it’s been month since reaching out to the team and no one ever replied or helped. Wouldnt recommend !

Let us add other vegetables and fruit. This app would be great if we could add other varieties, types of veg. Without this it’s only a part solution. And yes I’d pay for that.

Very Handy. Really handy app to look forward and plan your veggie plot. Because its accessible it means you can try planting out different crops compared to the tried and tested ones. Could in future have hints and tips on seed keeping and preserving each item too. Much cheaper than buying a poster and fits in your pocket while you are in the garden.

Great app ... Just one suggestion. What a fantastic app. Have not found anything nearly as good. I used the gardenate website previously so was stoked when I found out there was an app. This is the first time i have actually paid for an app, and it is certainly worth the couple of dollars! It is great that i can keep track of the seeds planted directly in the garden, but i would love to see an option for planting seeds in punnets on the app, so that I can keep track of those as well. At the moment I have put those in notes..

Very easy to use.. This is a fantastic app, I have had veggie gardens for years and my wife bought it for me and I first thought it a bit of a gimmick, but after using it I am a fan. Gives you quick reference notes and I love the fact you can note down what you have planted and when and in the notes you write things like what garden you planted it in etc. I also use the notes to record my rain fall. Highly rate this app.

Not what I expected , lacking a lot. Thought some of this stuff would be able to calculate when i rolled the dates around .... I don't know how many days this plant should have till anticipated harvest, that is why I bought this app.. I cannot enter Rosemary as a cutting or even a seedling. It's only able to be added to my garden as a seed I have loads of cuttings of various dates and sources starting back near a year, my ocd won't let me enter it as a seed .. I would like to see something about what to use to keep the bugs from tearing the plants up too , weather it's planting crops that bring in predatory bugs or even scientific fixes because I do eat my plants I want to know what my plants predators are wether it's root rot or grasshoppers Weather. I want to know what to look for to know if my plants are happy or not , maybe a reminder for feeding time every 2 weeks for basil etc I will come and update my review as i see changes Thanks

Great for beginners and experts alike.. This is a handy little app for keeping track of crops and getting info on planting and harvest periods. I like the new version with the addition of harvest periods so you can now track when you planted and over what period you harvested. The addition of the wish list will also be helpful. I am sure that in the coming versions more plants/varieties will be added. Two green thumbs up 👍👍 (yes I know they are yellow 😜)

Perfect for beginners. Very easy to use, perfect for beginners and great for seasoned gardeners. One of the biggest challenge to beginners is knowing when to start, what to plant, when to harvest. This app answers all those questions and helps us keep track of what has been planted and what to plant next. It would be great if there is a way to access the garden journal across different devices. I'd give it 5 stars if it dried that.

ESSENTIAL VEGETABLE PLOT APP. I refer many people to Gardenate as I find it essential in planning. It’s also good for school students to have a kitchen garden project. Everything is there, including a companion planting guide for each plant, spacing, even what not to plant. It isn’t a one size fits all as you can put in your zone settings & put in the details for your garden for the season such as when you plant each vegetable. Within each plant is a colour-coded system for seed raising, planting and harvesting. You can also personalise these. It’s well worth investigating what this app can do. Well done to the developer! Seriously, I don’t know what I’d do without it.

Awesome. I have been using Gardenate for several years which I have found to be extremely handy for my obsession of veg production. The app on the phone takes it to the next level whereas before I was jotting notes to remind me what I had planted and when. now the app does all that for me, BRILLIANT. Easy to use!!. I really love this app. I have took it. I don’t use it for potential however, it gives me so many options. Would love to have a section where I can date when I have applied improvement such as compost or schedule this in with a reminder. It’s great having a reference in my pocket too. Keep up the great work🫐

Conflicting Advice but otherwise LOVE it.. I would really love for someone in your team to explain to me why your planting information differs between the same app downloaded on my phone and iPad. There is a huge disparity between what can and cannot be planted for each month. The same app, different device. The same region on both. Other than this discovery, I have loved this app and recommended it to so many people. But which one is giving me the right advice.

Fantastic. I have been using this app since it was created. It is absolutely foolproof. Even a child can understand what’s going on. You just click the month and there it is! Plant this or that seed in the garden, in seed trays or plant out seedlings. You can look ahead and get seeds or seedlings ready for the next month. Genius!

BRILLIANT!. GARDENATE is actually the longest surviving App on my iPhone. I came before any other App I ever downloaded and I remember myself being quite confused about what Apps actually were. It was then, and still is now, on my home page on my phone with my other most important go-to’s. I was a very big fan way back when it first went digital and I’ve stayed a loyal fan through various version improvements and as I have moved homes three times and my two children have been born, raised and now are at uni. They LOVE my gardens and our fresh home grown fruit and veges have always been a staple part of their lives and their school lunch boxes. And Clover the blue healer LOVES snow peas. I have learned a lot of wonderful tricks from GARDENATE, and I especially rely on it for the growing seasons and the planting diary. I use my instincts for harvesting times as they are so variable for so many reasons but remembering when I planted certain beds and crops is impossible for me and GARDENATE makes it so easy. I feel very confident knowing I am planting things at the right time, and then I rely on my own experiences and plant health to fine tune planting within my various microclimates. Huge fan. Always will be. If you have not downloaded the App, what are you waiting for?! You won’t regret it.

Only veg. I’ve just started using the app & it seems to be good for veg seedlings but I would like to keep track of fruit trees & the associated tasks for them eg when to spray & prune

Lost months of data- no response :(. I have used Gardenate exclusively to track my vege garden, last week I tried to enter a new planting and the app had gone, retrieved it from the cloud and all of my data for the past few months was gone!! Devastated that it seems my data somehow got lost in the update I emailed to see if Gardenate had a fix or could see my plantings....still no response to my email! Would take a bit for me to trust it again, maybe back to paper or try another solution.

Good app. It’s pretty stylish and good for tracking plants and harvest time. I highly recommend this for people wishing to keep track of everything veggie patch related. Fast and great app support too thanks

Potential to be a fantastic app. Love the crop rotation and companion sections and the harvest dates. To make this app even better it needs photos, a built-in calendar, ability to rename plants once added to your garden for specificity, more plants like lemongrass, misome, cardamon, galangal, fruit (what it needs now, how to take care of it), a smoother and more professional-looking interface, an explanation of what beds you name (I think you name 6?), and what to plant now based on date. Thanks for a half-clever app, keep going!

Not for beginners. Great app however there is no demo or FAQ section to get you started. There is no explanation of what terms like “seedling, seed trays or sow seed” mean in the app which is confusing as they could all mean the same thing and each term is used to work out harvesting time. It’s like you are expected to know what they are thinking. There is a forum to ask questions from other users but it’s missing a basic start up demonstration on how to use the actual app.

Not too bad. Missing some basic things like Ginger, Turmeric and Horse Radish. Fruit trees would be nice too

Useful and simple!. Very nicely put together app! No unnecessary and unreliable features just simple and useable. I use this every couple if days and its great. As other have said an expansed list including flowers would be useful. Also if you could input your locations/beds and select one from a drop down menu when planting. This would also allow you to schedule by bed (i.e. bed 2: tomato, parsley etc). This would be very helpful. Keep updating please!

Gardener's best friend. Really handy app for enthusiastic gardeners of every persuasion, I'm a qualified horticulturalist running a permaculture system & use it all the time.

User-friendly. I just got this app from PIP magazine’s recommendation. Have populated my calendar and already learned that a few things I planted aren’t going to work 😏 Please add passion fruit and more fruits in general - seems to be the main thing missing. Otherwise, I think I’ll be using this a lot and saving $$

No upgrade facility. The new version is good, with the same functionality as the previous version. However, although you can share My Garden entries across multiple devices, but there is no ability to import My Garden entries from the previous version. Quite disappointing. 20 October 2021. Thanks for the quick response ;-) As mentioned in my original review, none of the details in the My Garden section were imported with the upgrade. It is completely empty, so I had no record of what I had planted and when.

Potential. Great to have an Aussie gardening app at last. In it's current form it is still pretty basic. As others have remarked, it would be good to have ability to plan rotations which then lead to ToDo lists and calendars which is what a computer should do for you. I would also like to see more detailed climatic zones within Oz. I look forward to updates and further things to come and am happy to pay for them!

New update doesn’t have search option when entering new plants. ILike the new updates making it look more modern but now when I enter a new plant to my garden, I have to scroll through all plants to find the name. Before there was a search option which was very good. Bring it back.

Wonderfully Helpful. This is an excellent app and so very easy to use. Just select the month you want and read the info ! As long as you have set up what region you are in, it will tell you exactly what you can plant and how long until harvest. You can even set a calendar reminder for your own individual garden. Brilliant ! 😄

More Accurate Than Diggers. Had been let down badly by Diggers suggestion for our Cool climate. Gardenate is much more accurate and so easy to use. Need to use common sense though as not all autumns or winters are the same...

I use it every time I plan and plant. Fantastic App that continually informs and inspires me. Whenever I want to make a decision about what to plant; when; and where, I check my Gardenate App and it’s there for me. Then, it tells me when I can harvest. I wouldn’t be without it.

Not user friendly. Was working but hadn’t been on it for a while and now there is no way of getting when to plan anything and not help. Waste of time now.

Great Garden Help. A fantastic app have been using for a few years so good to be able to check back on what you did before and whether it worked, and advice on not only when to plant but soil preparation and lots more.

Very solid planting guide and tracker. I have been using Gardenate for some years now and decided to look around at what else was in the market out of curiosity. Anyhow, I came straight back to Gardenate as it does exactly what I need without being overly complicated. I absolutely love the fact that it is a one time payment of a few dollars and not a pay by month/year subscription like many others.

Love it, but plantings always defaults. I love the concept of this, but every time I put a planting in, I edit the number of days to harvest, and save. It will save the first time, but if you go back into it, it defaults back to the system harvest days, pretty frustrating! Any way around this?

Love it!. Absolutely love this app, particularly the calendar section. I am learning so much about what to plant, and when, using the monthly calendar. Takes the guess work out of planting at inappropriate times. I’d love to see ‘new entrants’ to each month section, compared to the last month, highlighted so I can easily see what is new/coming into season.
