Can’t Even Play. I had bought this game several years ago when I had the iPhone 4. Now, I got so excited to see Spider again, I downloaded it. Now it’s telling me I have to pay a subscription?? On top of that, it’s saying I didn’t purchase this game when I tell the app I already bought it. This is so ridiculous. This game was so fun and I can’t get any access to it again.

The Best Game. i been playing this game since i was young like 6 or 7 and when i growed up to 15 years old i was memorizing the moments that i played that game before so in 2021 i will download and play it to 2022 😢😁

Unique and New. This game is really fun. Not only is the game play as a spider in an abandoned house a new and unique way to play, but the story in the game is unexpected and very deep. This is a game for people who like mysteries. I loved trying to figure out the mystery of what happened. This game is truly one of a kind.

Used to be good. The game was actually fantastic fun to play and had an interesting story before they locked everything except for the first few levels behind a paywall. I used to have the full game but of course now that theres a subscription tied to it i can no longer enjoy it. Really disappointed was hoping to start playing it again as I had really enjoyed it when I was younger. Shameful what it descended to.

Great game, locked behind a paywall. I got this game when I was little and was exited to see how it was doing. To my dismay, the game was locked behind a paywall that charged more than the price of the game, every month. If you do not decide to pay this, you are bombarded by obnoxious ads. I do not want to pay for any other games, and I wish I could just buy this old game on it’s own.

How sad. its an email fishing ad you cant close. The game is just an advertisement to get your email address. You cannot even close the advertisement to play the game unless you give them your email address, even though I paid for it.

Need more. Great game but it need more levels. Love the levels that’s in the game. The levels are really challenging but I don’t want to have to download another app to get more levels. They really need to add more challenging levels.

This game is one of the finest displays of iPhone gaming I've seen yet.. Being one who explores a large amount of iPhone apps, I've seen my fair share of the good and the bad. I judge apps primarily on the amounts, and balance, of both form and function, they exhibit. For example, if the best game in the world crashed all the time, I would consider it quite poorly designed. That said, "Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor" definitely comes to mind when I'm asked about the finer games that are available to the iPhone. The "form" of this game is quite possibly the best I've yet to see on an iPhone. Astounding graphics, beautiful music, and a very solid and intuitively designed user input. The "function" is only slightly lesser simply because the actual game-play isn't quite as exciting as a game like Super Mario Bros. or Metroid for example. But, it is very fun and somewhat addictive. Additionally, it's run flawlessly since I've installed it. I don't write many reviews on iPhone apps, but I make exceptions for what I feel is the best or the worst of 'em, so I strongly recommend that you purchase this game.

Highly addictive, lovely illustrations, a total blast to play!. I discovered Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor while playing with a friend's iPad during what would have been a long and boring night baby sitting after their child had gone to sleep. 3 hours later I had to put it down, but only because the iPad ran out of batteries. I adore this game. The action is simple: you're a spider on the hunt, spinning webs and exploring a creepy, abandoned Victorian mansion. The secrets are somewhat simple to solve, but add a welcome layer of interest to the levels. The illustrations are intriguing, begging you to piece together the story of the Bryce Family as you continue on your journey. All in all, a very fun game that is worth replaying and sharing with friends. As a side note: I had a chance to be in contact with a Tiger Style support staff member, David, through email. Even though I emailed on the weekend, he promptly responded to my email and made it a priority to help with my request. Super cool. Highly recommend this game.

Truly Amazing. I’ve had this app for years, from the iPod Touch day and to each new phone I’ve switched to since - I can’t be without it! It’s honestly the BEST mobile game I’ve ever encountered. Music, artwork, user-friendly controls and whole-hearted fun all seamlessly woven into one masterpiece! I can’t rave enough! Please make more just like it!

I used to play this game. When this game first came out it was free to play all levels, now you have to pay to play the game, and I guess others connected. I just want to play spider since I used to play it all the time on my iPod and I’m disappointed I can’t play it anymore without paying for it.

Can't get enough!. Eagerly waiting for the sequel! Probably my favorite game. But now a little crashy on the iOS8 & iphone 6. Please update so I can enjoy it all over again! ***************************************** I'd give it 10 stars if I could! This is not just a game, it is a mysterious adventure. Highly addictive! 4 games come with the app but my favorite is The Secret of Bryce Manor. It opens the story with hints on how to move. The spider can run, walk, jump, tackle, leap, turn around, and eat. This game bumps up the challenge with each level and holds your interest. It has a very responsive interface. You go up on levels as you work thru the mansion...inside and outside. There are clues to be found. There are achievements to build, and there is a secret. I have been thru the game once and not yet learned the secret. I can see that there are different ways to play to get different results. The more you play, the better you get. There are interesting ways to catch the different bugs. It's got great sound affects and is so realistic. The mood is all there like a great movie/novel mystery. It's fun fun fun!!! The graphics and soundtrack are amazing!!! It's meant for one player but I've played it with one if my kids by trading off the different levels. We have a blast watching and encouraging each other. Thank you for this masterpiece!!!

Unique. Extremely unique game! So thrilled they have released a sequel and can’t wait to try it out! I don’t have too many games on my phone but since it’s original release I’ve always enjoyed this one! And love that it can be replayed over and over! Awesome and worth a try for a newcomers! 🕷🕸🖤

Secret's out! Hints below.... Overall, a quite entertaining, stress-free game. I found the first play-through annoying as there was no indication what level I was on or when the end came. Although I found all of the secrets, since I missed pushing in the knobs in the basement in the exact order directed on the gravestone, the secret room didn't open for me (should reveal a secondary portal behind the hearth when you push the steering wheel). Figured it out soon enough the second go-around. SUGGESTION: ability to replay a level of your choice, at anytime... even after "save". Would've saved me from going back all the way to the beginning after the game ended without warning. Also, no one refutes how gorgeous this game is but the big sell on the manor secret was a disappointment. Wish it would have been more developed, detailed, explained. Something. Would be great to see an update with further levels and advancement of the STORY! I really don't mind paying $3 for this.

Just as fun as catching bugs for real!. This game is about as fun as catching bugs in my house, which is to say, not fun at all. Seriously tho, after the first few levels each room feels like a chore. It's like the family left to give the maid (you) enough time vacuum up all their damned bugs. No thanks.

It was sad to hear after all these years the original game studio for Spider had gone out of business— yet this incredible venture has breathed life into one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE puzzle games!!! Thank you so much for making this so beautifully updated and optimized for everyone. Much appreciated and kudos to the devs and new dev teams!! ✨😖✨

Great concept, poorly executed.. I bought this based on all the glowing reviews. Frankly, I think all the raves are an example of mob mentality. People buy into the hype and then are hard pressed to admit that it's just not all that great. Every level is pretty much the same. It's quite cool at first, and grows old incredibly quickly. A story is implied, but it never materializes. As soon as you realize the levels are becoming repetitive and boring, BAM the game just ends. And with very little replay value, the hype simply isn't deserved. I own a slew of great games, and this isn't one of them. For a 1/2 hour, you'll likely be enthralled with the game's potential, given its interesting mechanics. Maybe you'll go on iTunes and leave another glowing review. Then you'll play it again for 10 minutes and the game will end. You'll scratch your head, wondering what the point was. What was that about the "secret," you'll ask. You'll ponder playing it again, and decide nah, it wasn't so much fun that I want to play it again. Then you'll wonder why all those lemmings made it sound like this thing was the greatest thing to hit the iPhone.

Gorgeous, Fun and Magical. This is one of those rare games where, both art and execution meet to form a unique gaming experience that's pleasing not only from a gaming standpoint, but also an aesthetic one as well. The game itself is straight forward as you play as a spider, roaming level to level eating bugs by spinning webs and occasionally pouncing on others but that's simply scratching the surface. As you dig deeper you start picking up on a story, told only through exploring the musty Bryce Manor, as you pass framed photos, discarded heirlooms and forgotten keepsakes. Its avant-garde game design that takes what could have just been a insect catching game and turning into something greater, as you the spider, play the part of the "fly on the wall" in the lives of two individuals in Bryce Manor. Its the sort of nuanced story telling that isn't afraid to chances, and almost never occurs in gaming. This is absolutely one of the elite titles of iPhone gaming. Buy it. Enjoy it and hope that small dev teams like Tiger Style can pay the bills as they're sure to have more than just one ace up their sleeve.

Wish there were more levels. The game is beautiful, but way to short. I was stunned and saddened when the game was over, especially for the price.

Fun gameplay, but a little short.. Great game with an original concept, responsive controls, and smooth animation. I had a blast, but zoomed thru the fairly easy levels. Also, I was hoping to see some sort of story development related to the "Secret of Bryce Manor" in finding clues that slowly unfolded a moving story, but nope. I started to get hopeful on finding the passed out (drunk?) man in the chair, having fallen asleep while looking at a photo of a woman. I had hoped that further exploring the house would have unfolded where she was,etc..but I was disapointed. Some way to increase the difficulty would be great, mini games, and more complex levels that would require more forethought, timing, and strategy. It was too easy to over use webs, and too easy to place webs where they would be very effective. I level that give you barely enough web to catch every bug would be more fun, and create more replayability. Still a really fun game, but over too soon, let's hope for updates!

Overrated. Was hoping it would be more of a point-and-click adventure game but all you do is spin webs to catch bugs. Not a bad concept, but nothing great. Worth a try for the price though.

Great game until the subscriptions and adds took over. When this game came out, it was honestly an amazing game. It was just a one time buy allowing to you enjoy the game. We already bought the game years ago, so I loaded it up on my phone and it told me that we don’t have an active subscription for it, and I would have to play a limited version with adds. This is very unprofessional, especially considering we already paid for it. I don’t know if it was bought but a new company or something, but I wish the game was how it used to be, where you could just pay upfront and not worry about it

These are webs you'll want to get caught in. Update: I think people are missing the other 3 modes besides the main adventure mode and the allure of beating the high scores on the leaderboard. While the game is "only" 28 levels (which I think is fine), there are also 24 achievements that can be unlocked, which are challenging and fun. SO MUCH REPLAY VALUE. You can't even get lunch for $3 and this game will give you hours and hours of excellent gameplay! Spider: TSOBM and I have spent about, oh, I'd say ~40 hours together at this point and I never get tired of playing it. The multiple modes, the crunching of the hornets, the intoxicating melody of the score....I love this game. My favorite part is collecting achievements as I move through the manor, spinning webs and eating the bugs until my fingers cramp up. Now if only I could find that darn secret room......five stars, all the way. At $2.99, this game is an absolute steal. (Seriously, I paid $8 for Secret of Monkey Island and didn't get half the pleasure out of it that I have Spider: TSOBM)

The game that started it all is still fun. This was the first game I played on any iOs device back in 2009, and when I heard that it was finally receiving a sequel, I decided I should replay it. Amazingly, considering all the innovation in mobile gaming in the last six years, it is still fun to play. If you are obsessive like I am, it will take you maybe three hours to complete the adventure mode campaign, and there are several more hours worth of content in the other game modes. I like to break down my reviews into story, visuals, audio and gameplay, so here goes: Story: This game is rather story light, expecting the player to create their own version of what happened at the manor based on vague clues and imagination, but it works really nicely. I felt motivated to track down every secret and open every hidden room. For what it is, it does this very well. Visuals: The hand drawn aesthetic is lovely, even by today's standards, with a lot of care put into each of the backgrounds. The bugs and spiderwebs don't stand up to time quite as well, but they are not bad enough to be emersion breaking. It is important to note, however, that the visuals don't quite stand up to the most recent iPhone screens, and it looks really fuzzy if you try and blow it up on an iPad. They do have an iPad version however. Audio: This was one of the first games that put obvious effort into their audio, and I remember being very impressed within it first came out. That said, by today's standards, it is lacking. The music is repetitive and has little depth. Gameplay: The gameplay is perhaps the weak point of this game. When it came out, it was amazing, but in 2015, it is lacking. There are only a few types of "enemy" bugs, and the gameplay breaks down to make webs, chase bugs, eat stuff. That said, because of the campaign's shortness, it never has a chance to really get boring. Overall, this game is still worth playing, and it is especially impressive considering its age.

Simple, gorgeous, nontraditional.. I went into this game with relatively low expectations. I mean, the game is about a spider spinning webs and eating insects. What could it possibly have to offer the AppStore? How about an easy pick up and play gameplay mechanic, smooth as butter controls, highly addicting and beautiful. That's what Spider truly has to offer. Of course, the objective of each stage is to set anchor points and outline geometric shapes using your silk to create webs. Catch numerous insects in your web. Eat them for points and more silk. Wash, rinse, repeat. Sound boring? It isn't. Each stage has multiple obstacles and tons of bugs (each with their own behavior pattern), and after a few stages the gameplay turns more toward a puzzle-type game. The graphics are gorgeous, with each insect looking just like it should. But the beauty comes from your surroundings. Each stage has a rustic, vintage vibe that really makes you feel like a tiny spider making your way through a huge, luxorious mansion. The controls have to be some of the best I've seen in the AppStore to date. Tap and hold to crawl, swipe to jump long distances, tap your spider to set an anchor point an jump to create a line of silk behind you. Responsive, not overly sensitive, and easy to master. This game truly does have it all. If you're on the fence about this one like I was, jump into the yard and start spinning some webs. You'll be hooked in no time!

The Secret of Success is this Game!!!. I've downloaded plenty of apps., but this is only one that made me want to write about it. I absolutely LOVE this game. I was skeptical at first, but was happily surprised. Moving the spider around is really easy. Web spinning and jumping require some getting used too and can be slightly frustrating. Once you get the knack, the game is completely addicting. I played all levels in one sitting and started over without getting bored. The graphics speak for themselves and can't be matched. The various levels and increasing difficulty make the game challenging without being frustrating once you master the spider's movements. I cannot recommend this game enough. The only thing I was disenchanted with was the Tiger Style website. I wanted to see what else they had to offer, and it was an endless loop of various Tiger Style logos. Buy the app. from Itunes... Save yourself from the Tiger Style website misery. Happy spinning!

blown away.... I had seen this game now several times and still couldn't bring myself to pay 3 buck for it.. Well i finally broke down and I'm just amazed!!! I'm a huge app fan, I try tons and tons and this is one of the few ones i've come across where I find myself playing for 5 hours right after getting it! plus the game play has so many levels to it. Between the secret cubbys in the house to the house its self. Not to mention capturing little critters. Though i see room for improvement just like alot of games maybe bigger prey you have to avoid or bite to get passed, and maybe not so much along the lines of power ups but maybe depending on what your spider eats could vary your web strength, stickiness, spider jump or if its posionous throw it of some.... regardless the game is well worth the price. I've paid way more for apps not nearly as great as this one so go buy it!!!!

Beautiful in each and every way possible.. I kept seeing people talking about this game on TouchArcade and questioned buying it at that time. I hadn't heard of it much prior to release and was unsure what it would be like exactly. Let me tell you, it's incredible. From the gameplay point of view, you'll be busy getting through all the levels and achieving things throughout. Controls are easy to pick up from the start, but I can tell that mastering them is a more time consuming process. It is something that seems will happen naturally though playing this game to its entirety for sure. Not something you're going to have to labor over. It really comes logically and naturally to the player through time. Graphics are...well amazing is about the only word that fits. There's a retro feel to them, but not really. I would say there's a lot of games coming out that rely on hip graphics (cell shading, 2.5 D or hand drawn) but this has none of that. Its just cool looking because that's the way it is. When I say this game is groundbreaking for the touch screen devices, I mean it. It truly is a pleasure to play through and I've enjoyed every second of it thus far. Wish I could give zero stars! It’s a rip off!. There is not a game, including this one, worth $5 a month. Disappointing, aggravating, and not worth it! Time to find another free game to be my favorite. Good bye Spider, forever.

Too Addictive. I started playing this and just couldn't stop. It was worse than WoW. I love the subtle story and the responsive gameplay. It was a great feeling to build up a bunch of webs to cross a space that looked impossible. And jumping on the hornets is so satisfying. :) I only have two bones to pick: The controls are a bit touchy. But I only noticed it in a couple spots where I was trying for a particular jump and couldn't get it. There is one hornet that I just could not get. So irritating! It was way up there in the top left, and even with superjump I couldn't reach it. This was when I really noticed the control issue, because I was trying to get exactly the right angle and swipe fast enough to get a superjump but not so fast that it didn't register. Adding in the fact that if I missed I had to crawl back up there over and over again. ... But that was the only spot that bothered me. The rest of the game is wonderful!

don’t like the subscription. i loved this game when i was little and i remembered it today and thought “hey let’s play this game” only to find that the free game i played 7 years ago needs a subscription, that’s so unpleasant.

Spider. I have been playing this app for like ten years. Still wishing for an update or a similar game to Spider. Such a simple, but awesome , app.

My Favorite Game. I played this game when I was about 7, and enjoyed it greatly, not even understanding the value of the lore of this game. I replayed it, nearly 8 years later, and I still love it, but now have a better understanding of the “secrets” of the game and the story being told through all the little details. The art style in this game is by far one of my favorites, which makes me sad for the sequel, where the art style is different and more refined. I recommend this game to anyone who wants to experience a sense of exploration with a beautiful art style and settings.

You. I downloaded the hornet smash for free and played the lite version and even after two minutes I knew I had to buy full version. Very cheap considering I've spent hours, hooked up to the power outlet so I don't have to stop playing! The gameplay is awesome and the story is detailed and interesting. Can't recommend this highly enough. Fantastic job Tiger Style

Really enjoyable. A nice, easy and fun game - fantastic for the train to work. My request is lots of updates so that the game can go on or get harder. Also the latest update was going to take 51 minutes to download. That's not good! But otherwise great work and would love to see more games with such a high quality interface.

Refreshing:D. Great job in creating a level of gameplay that has never before been achieved! Theres so much to like about it, from the moment you put your finger down and see how fast and smooth the spider runs, to the sweetly handcrafted background art... only downer... it was over too soon... well done guys you bombed it!

Actually fun. Despite there not being /that/ much to do it's totally worth your cash, the 'feel' of the game is excellent, the soundtrack the best I've heard in an iPhone game. Only my 3rd five starred review, I reccommend you buy it. Contribute to developers, get.

Great to have Game Center support. An already fun game, now with Game Center support. Lots of achievements to get - though they don't appear to be signalled in game when you get them - you have to look in the Game Center app. Leaderboards don't seem to be working for me yet, but hoping they will soon. Good to see a game that has been out for quite a while now updated with new features.

An excellent spider simulator. A very interesting game, it definitely recreates the atmosphere of scurrying around catching bugs as a spider. Most of the time I found the controls worked seamlessly, and the web spinning was fairly forgiving when I spun a bad shape.

Fun and different. Love this game, it's very addictive. I like that it is so different to other iPhone games, I've never played a similar game. Love the style of the game and the little secret holes you find. I also love the funky old style of it, very cool. More levels pleeeeease!!!

Fantastic. This game is just superb, as you progress further into the manor, the challenges change - catching dragonflies to hornets - you'll enjoy it

Fantastic!. Amazing game with intuitive controls, reminds me of braid. I only mark it down due to it's short length but for $4 it's a great experience and well worth the price! 

Not as impressive as some people claim, but a fun game nonetheless.. First of all, ignore what a lot of people are saying. This is *not* an artistic game, it is *not* revolutionary; it is simply a fun, addictive game about devouring insects. The graphics of the game are pretty impressive, and it's fun to see what the levels look like once you've covered them in silk. The controls are rather simple, although the spider does develop a mind of its own and run in the opposite direction to what you've instructed every now and then, but it doesn't affect the game in a significant way. Parts of the game that require you to touch the screen with two fingers don't always register, but this is a common problem with iPhone games, and seems to be more of a hardware limitation than anything else. Gameplay is simple, draw a web by jumping around leaving a trail of silk, then eat anything that gets caught. Some insects require you to leap at and tackle them, which is mildly challenging, and oh-so-satisfying when you pull it off. There are secrets, which you find simply by crawling into, say, an open drawer, but there's not much incentive to find them. In all, a fun, addictive game that will keep you drawn in until the end. Allow me to echo other reviews by claiming that the game is too short, and the price *is* a bit harsh for such a short game. If you're willing to pay premium price for a short (however fun) game, then this might be for you.

A nice game. The gameplay is fun though not too challenging. The drawings are fabulous. Not much of a mystery to solve though, unless I've missed something :) I enjoyed playing it. Would play it again just to observe the artwork a second time! And the spidey is cute.

brilliant little game!. I just came from touch arcade... and I agree with them. now I wish more games were as lovingly put together as this. very refined in almost every way. a few niggles tho. I'd like a less abrupt exit from the level when you finish it... and the story could be a little bit more immersive perhaps.. but even still.. 5 stars from me. I hope more levels are added soon however. Im finding that I get lost in this adorable little game!

Wonderful game. Make the 'adventure' part longer :). Beautifully drawn, great intuitive controls, has reply value. Making the adventure part of the game longer would be great to see in an update :)

Fun game, beautifully done. I'm another one who thinks this is a really good game. The goal is to guide your spider around an old house. Something bad has happened there and you pick up clues along the way. Although being a spider, your main interest is in catching food. The spider in the game is a jumping spider. Yep, that's actually a real type of spider or rather, a family of spiders. Okay, so jumping spiders don't build orb webs but this is a game, okay? And there is enough accuracy to not only make this game somehow feel right, but fun too. The controls are dead-easy to use, which means you can enjoy the game and not be hindered by an interface. And that's a good thing. The critters get a bit more tricky to catch as you progress through the levels. If you want to succeed, then it helps to think like a spider, or its prey. For those of you who know a thing or two about spiders, you'll appreciate the subtle details and might also notice the odd joke or two. My only complaint with this game is that I would have liked to have seen more. But to be left wanting more is usually the sign of something good. 5 stars from me.

Just awesome. I had a look at this as it was referenced as a good example of a game designed for the iPhone. The control is fantastic, and the game play amazing. The spider animation is also great. I even liked the background music. I was also impressed with the facebook integration, nicely done all round. Hope there is an update with more bugs and levels. My only complaint is the Tigher Style web site... there's nothing there, that said, the game stands alone.

Beautiful, subtle, not for the lovers of shoot 'em ups. Love this game, almost don't want to play it so that I don't get through all the rooms and it's over too soon. The sound and the movement is just magical and really lovely to play. It's not a fast gritty brainless game. It's something else. LOVE IT!

Good well thought out game, but very short. This is a novel concept that works really well on the iPhone. Games like this really make great use of the touch screen. On the downside it's very short, and gets pretty boring fairly quickly. I finished it in under an hour. I guess anywhere else except the app store that would be considered good value.

OK...... When I first got this game I loved it. It was addictive and the best on my iPod. BUT a couple of weeks later u regret that u spent so much money on this app. It just gets boring and u never play it. But the graphics and music are fantastic. Brilliant. No iPhone game will provide more depth of story, quality game play and originality, if you call yourself an app enthuseist you must own this game. The only downside to this game is you can't replay the best levels in your own order and the fact that it's just too short, hopefully new levels will be released in later updates. Worth Having. This game is easy to play, and quite addictive. Several game options make it interesting - hunt and trap insects, or just survive by finding food, fast! Graphics are interesting, and different levels are fun to explore.

Great? Best app ever?. I dont know where are these good reviews are coming from. It's not THAT great. It is made really well, no glitches, very smooth. But it's not a 4 dollar game. Better if it was 1.19. I think most of these reviews may be fake. Seems out of trend to have this many good reviews for an average game that's overpriced.

Its a good game. It IS a good game. The graphics are excellent. The levels get harder as you go on which is good and having the different game modes which means once you have finished all the levels, there is still more to do. There are secrets in some of the levels and achievements to unlock as well which means you might have to play levels several times before you can complete the whole game. 4/5 stars.

Not what I was expecting. Based on all the five star reviews I was expecting this game to be amazing. So I decided to drop the $3 on it. But I was soon very disappointed, once the novelty of being a spider wears off in the first 30 seconds you realize there's nothing more to this game then jumping around catching flies. It's not challenging, and quite a boring game to play. The levels are beautiful and the concept was good, but you can't expect much from a game where your a spider that catches bugs.

A little freaky. The little spider moves EXACTLY like one of those little spiders. Freaked me out a bit the first time. A beautiful little game tho.

My favorite iPhone game. I'm a pretty big PS3 gamer and I wasn't expecting much from iPhone games but this one really impressed me with fun gameplay, the mysterious setting in the mansion, great sound effects/music and beautiful art style. I love how smooth it is to control the spider as well. You get so much for $3. Plus they added Game Center achievements! This is a must have for every iPhone gamer.

Great Gameplay, want more Story. Playing as a spider was surprisingly fun, the animation and movement of the spider is excellent, and the strategic web building is great fun. While the artwork is excellent and alludes to the tragic history of the former inhabitants of Bryce Manor, I couldn't help but be disappointed in the vague and inconclusive narrative. I would have appreciated it if the "secrets" were clues that could be stored and examined outside of regular gameplay. Hopefully some of the narrative elements can be further detailed in an update. Also for an update, different spiders!!! I'd love to be able to choose from different spiders that might have slightly different characteristics, or one that could actually kind of rappel down his silk. All-in-all, these are requests rather than complaints, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, it felt like I was playing in a childhood storybook like Graeme Base's The 11th Hour.

Unique and brilliant.. Excellent, level design, gameplay and a great melancholic mood. I wish it was a little longer, but if the only criticism you can think of for a game is that you wish there was more of it, then you have a pretty good game.

This is completely different!. I love the new and fresh approach that the developers took in creating this game. It's unlike anything else I've ever played on any device. The controls are completely intuitive and take very little time to get used to. The challenges are great. The artwork is fantastic! Both my wife and myself are not fans of spiders, but when you start playing this game you become immersed very quickly. 2 thumbs up for sure!

Good concept but way to simple. Great idea and fun for a while but way too easy. For next one consider an RPG like element maybe where yu can gain new skills and boss fights or something like a cat or something but don't make it like yu attack the cat cuz obv yud lose but make it more creative and unique like yu put a web on a faucet and turn it on and the water scares the cat away etc. The game needs more and bigger levels and make puzzles that yu gotta solve to move on etc. Like I said has potential to be an amazing I mean amazing game but feels more like a start to a game than an actual game.

This game the interesting game I gave played for the iPod, and iv purchased All the big ones, resident evil, assasins creed, sway, zen bound, and this actually beat sway in my Opinion. Finally, a game that cared as much about it's soundtrack as "Zen Bound" Spider Is a little work of art... more important in concept.... I recommend reading all the previous reviews, good and bad, before purchasing. It *is* a wonderful use of the platform and the controls are great and smooth. It will probably be a measuring stick for some time in that respect. It also has some beautiful settings. However, as a casual game player, I was disappointed. I was hoping for some sort of wrap up to the story at the end, telling me what each of those clues meant, as I was confused about a couple of them. Nothing like that; just had to be satisfied with what I'd discerned on my own. I worked all the way through it in an evening (one sitting) and I'm not sure I'll go back to it again. I was more in it for the mystery than for catching bugs. So, for me the price wasn't worth one sessions' worth of play.

Age rating is a bit low.... This game is very addictive! As other users have said, amazing graphics, unique idea and concept, and great music. Very worth your money. However, I give this game 4 stars because of the ending. I don't want to give anything away, but the ending is mature, to say the least. I had read a different review also reporting a concern about the end, and had thought nothing of it; until I saw for myself. Perhaps raising the age limit as a warning might be a good idea? That would have helped me get an idea of what i was getting myself into. Other than that, AMAZING game!! Great job Tiger Style, keep up the good work!

Great Addicting Fun. I have been playing this game for about a week and all I have to say is that this game is definitely worth a purchase. This is a combination of platforming and puzzle solving and it is done so smoothly. The controls are flawless, the graphics are beatiful and the gameplay is just plain addicting. The different bug combinations and level designs make you think about how and where you will place your webs. You can play this for 2 minnutes or 2 hours and feel great satisfaction at the end of each session. The many achievements also add a fun challenge and some good replay value. I can't recommend this game enough. BUY THIS!

A person. Are these reviews fake? Every level of all four games can be completely mastered within a few hours. They're pretty much the same with the exact same visuals and easy secrets throughout. From that point on, it is as predictable as walking from the dining room to the kitchen in your own home. Just as exciting too. I have to admit that I have checked for an update every day, but that's just because I hope for something more and am ashamed of buying this game. I've had it for four days and I'm going to delete it immediately because I'm sure the update will not add anything worth waiting for and taking up space.

Best game!. I love this game! I'm not sure why people are complaining about it being short. There are over thirty levels of unique rooms in the manor and once you've played through them all, there are different challenges you can choose to test your skill and you can choose any level you wish to play on. The rooms are creative and unique and look so spooky once they're draped in cob webs. The music is great as well. I usually turn the music off on games b/c it gets so repetitive, but I really liked the different songs on here. I would love to see more levels in the future only because this game is too good to let die out.

Love this game. i've already played the game through multiple times. i love the graphics, soundtrack and the gameplay. Sometimes i love jsut seeing how much of each room i can cover in webs before i run out lol. One thing bothering me...i cannot figure out the secret..i find all pieces of the secret...yet i cannot find this secret room i see mentioned in reviews :-( so that's the only fault with the game. Completely Addictive. I made the mistake of taking this game into the bathroom in place of the Sunday paper. An hour later the wife was beating on the door wondering if I had a stroke. This game is a time machine as you completely lose track of time while you work strategies to create webs to capture the different insects (each insect has different properties that cause you to come up with different strategies to capture them. I can't wait for the next release of new levels. Great job Tiger Style. I can't wait to see what other titles you come up with.

Awestruck.... This is by far the most innovative game on the app store. The plotline I found genuinly surprising, I haven't seen an iPhone game this dark and depressing and I'm amazed... This game moved me deeply and I cannot wait for more from this developer. This is surprisingly mature game, not the way that it is bloody or sexy, but in the constant feeling of dread and hopelessness that closses in around you, then when you do find what happened to the occupants of the house, you may be surrprised at the darkness, and if you find the secrets of the game, the plotline revealls even more of it's dark hopeless sadness. This game is a depressing game, with a great and fun gameplay mechanic. Making webs to catch bugs and finding secrets is a blast. Then when you complete the game, you unlock new, cool game modes.

Worth all the praise. I was sort of waiting for this to come down in price to .99 but finally bit the bullet and paid full price for it. I read a bunch of reviews and my curiousity got the better of me. Now that I've played the first few levels I'm totally satisfied with this game and probably would've paid 4.99 and still be happy. This game is very fun, interesting, and unique. Def worth the 2.99. And if it goes to .99 tomorrow, I wouldn't care. Maybe the developers should put out a lite version so ppl can give it a shot

Wow!. This game has beautiful visuals, great atmosphere, excellent controls, and a very well done soundtrack. There are secrets to discover in the mansion, new types of insects to encounter, and the later levels require a bit of strategy, so it's not just a simple, mindless action/adventure game. It's one of the first apps in a while which I actually played all the way through (many lose their charm half-way). Typically, I will not buy an app unless there is a lite version, though the user reviews and videos I watched sold me. It was well worth the money and quite an enjoyable experience! An added bonus is that there are different game modes, and it looks like the developers support their fans by providing updates. Very nice job!

Believe me, this is one of the best games on the iphone. I cannot explain how much money I have spent and in most cases wasted on game applications. It seems with most other apps, one game mechanic comes at the price of another. For instance one game might have great graphics, but bad controls, or vice versa. Untill Spider, I had yet to play a perfect game. Believe me when I say this, Spider is a perfect game. No other app has held my attention like this one. The art style is superb, the music is excellent, the gameplay is flawless. Buy this game right now! You will not be dissapointed.

Great time killer!. Graphics are great. Control is EASY! The game is rather easy but if you are challenged by trying to beat scores then it can be a challenge. If you just rush through games JUST to finish them then you will only get a couple of hours out of this. I'm addicted to beating my scores and my friends scores so the I get plenty of replay value out of this game. I almost wish someone would make a bigger scale version of this for XBL. Once again the game is easy just to beat. The challenge is having the best score you can have.

Spider: the future series. This game is pure fun. With impresive graphics and great usage of the iPhone/iPod controls, it's very easy to understand and get into the game of what it is being a spider, catching bugs to survive, and spinning all kinds of webs! I'm hoping that "Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor" won't stop at just Bryce Manor but will go into other manors, houses, castles, and maybe even in the wild forest or alleys of big cities! Those are my ideas that I"m hoping for, why stop at just one manor when you can create a series of more! :)

Spider Surpise. Okay, to set the record straight, I had the worst case of arachnophobia ever possible. The most miniscule spider would make me jump and my skin crawl in fear. Then at the airport, about to get on a plane for the first time, I see this game on my friend's iTouch. I was interested, because I know she's weird and she usually has cool games. So I check it out, right? And then I've fallen in love! The graphics are so wonderfully done and I can see every detail so vividly. The music was pleasant to listen to and the sound effects were an added bonus. I love the subplot- finding all the secrets to uncover the mysteries. I've found every 'secret' but I can't find the reason as to what happened! Even then I still enjoy the game very much and love to replay it using the different game modes. It's a very entertaining game and worth every penny! There should definetely be a sequel!!

Almost missed a bus stop.... Great game, and satifies one of the major requirements I have: this game makes my commute fly by. In fact, one morning I nearly missed my stop and had to yell to the bus driver to let me off because I didn't notice we were outside my workplace! I am also a podcast junkie, so I hate games that turn off iPod music - this game lets you listen to your own soundtrack if you choose to. This game is gorgeous, unique and intuitive. Reminds me a bit of Qix with gravity, and a little of BAD MOJO which would be a great iPhone game if someone got the rights to it. My only slight nitpick: zooming out to see where you are in the level is a little finicky. You have to double tap, then single drag around to see more and this is the only place it feels clunky. I wish there were a way to zoom to the initial view of the entire room with an easily visible marker showing where the spider is.

Too Cool. honestly, the name sounds lame on first look. "spider, the secret of bryce manor"? seriously? how fun can that be right... WRONG. this game is probably one of the best, most well made apps in the app store. the graphics are fantastic, the gameplay is unique and addicting. the music is satisfying and the overall game is very entertaining. the only thing i dont get is the price. it is worth much more than the 3 dollars its listed at. it should be 10, or more. i would buy it for a lot more. so people, look at the reviews. all 5 star. so if you have an iphone and dont get this game, then youre just a plain idiot!

Like two games in one.... It's really amazing how this game seperates the wheat from the chaff. Anybody who is dogging this game is a fool who isn't paying attention to what's going on around them. This game is NOT just about spinning webs and catching bugs (though if it were, it would still be a 4-star fame, it's that polished). The true game is going on in the background, and you must be thinking and observant to figure it out. There's such a mature and powerful story evolving while you catch your prey, but you have to watch for it. Take your time and observe your surroundings; it's very rewarding to figure out the puzzle at the end. Don't listen to the simpletons who give this game poor ratings. This is a special game that elevates iPhone games to a whole new level. If you only pay for one game this year, make it Spider.

Jumpin Jehosaphat!. Here's the skinny folks, I'm not one to pay for apps. I figure, eh, why buy when there are so many free, however, this little app intrigued me. So....after a few days of hemming and hawing I broke down and bought the app. All I can say is Jumpin Jehosaphat I started the game not expecting to last 5 minutes when low and behold three hours later I look up to the perturbed look of my husband saying, "are you ever coming to bed?" Yup, it's that entertaining! It's even better when you put on your own tunes, jam and jump away! CAUTION, this game can cause you to lose track of time...

Dubdogmindtricks. I thought this game was clever and fun. No it's not going to be something that will take you several hours to beat (unless you try for all the achievements I suppose) and the mystery aspect really is pretty secondary to the primary goal of the game (i.e. eat bugs to get to the next level) but in my opinion it was worth the $0.99. I actually hope they make a formal sequel rather than just add content through an update though maybe make the story aspect a little more involved in the actual game play.

First review... This is the first time I've taken the time to say anything about a game but this is the best game for the iPhone I've played so far! I think it's just the beginning of what is possible... If designers so desire.. Of course the game seems short cause is hard to put down once you get the hang of it... But i would really like to see some added levels or even a part 2.. But this game leaves you feeling it was definitly worth the $3 price tag.

Highly recommended. This game controls very well, a prerequisite for any game that I would like. The art and music are very nice. Where this game really takes the crown, however, is in it's underlying mystery. You do not have to solve the mystery, and if you play as I did then you likely won't solve it until your second time through, but my guess is that you will be genuinely concerned for the family from the abandoned mansion. The creators accomplished very much without making the game complicated, thanks to elegance in design.

Flawless. I have to say, I bought this game because of the old house mysterious type look to it and it had great reviews. I am glad I did. I went through all levels already and I am playing the different modes now. Perfect controls, level drawing are A+. The game is just all around a 10. I highly recommend especially at the price. I can't get over how you can control the spider and the way it looks as it walks and jumps through the air. It is very authentic. Again, perfectly designed 5 star app! 

 PERFECT . I have wasted a lot of money on apps that are just like others, but this one I can't complain about! This is the most unique gameplay I have seen in months! Hand-drawn graphics and appropriate music make you feel like you are the spider (which sounds kind of creepy, but trust me, it's cool). I can see that the developers of this game put a lot of time into perfecting it, and it shows! At $2.99, this game is a steal and will soon be a big hit! I seem to keep coming back to it - thank you so much for this  Nice job you guys, and keep the great games coming! 

Gorgeous Style Over Substance. Y'all know what the game is about: you're a spider, you make webs, you catch bugs and eat them to get more web fluid, rinse, repeat. The game world, a decaying old house in autumn, is beautifully drawn and detailed and though the music doesn't really change and loops on and on, it's still elegant. But the game is too short, there is not much of a sense of danger even from the wasps and dragonflies who I wasn't damaged once by and took down easily. The mystery subplot, which is told mainly thru finding secret areas, is not very clear at all. Considering unraveling the mystery is such a selling point, I expected more. No spoilers, but it's both generic and vague. Oh well. If you can spare the money, I recommend it. The concept and gameplay certainly are unique and it works, and it's fun. That is something of which we need more, these days.

Great Game: Good fun for your phone.. This was one of the first games that I bought. It was a good app to start off. It is well designed for the Iphone. It did not ultimately stay on my phone, but it was a good bit of fun. It is an original premise, that is beautifully executed. It has a bit of replay value. For 3 dollars it is priced just about right. You will definitely enjoy it for a while. Eventually it wears out its welcome, but with the different achievements, it retains some replay value.

Captivating.. This is a beautiful-looking game, the controls are excellent, and the experience is wholly unique. You are really transported to the life and world of this little spider. With that said, it's hard to pin down what makes this such a great game. As one negative review pointed out, all you are really doing is spinning webs and catching bugs. But what I DO know is that after I finished the game I immediately started over so I could do it all again. It's just a pleasure to lose yourself in the world of this spider and this game. In short, it's like nothing else, it's nearly perfect, and I absolutely loved it. I don't think I'll ever be deleting this one. (And I'll never look at a spider the same way again.)

Like a Book I Couldn't Put Down. Playing through this game over the course of a few days was like having a book I could not wait to return to, to see what happens next. The gameplay is fun, but is really just the way that it keeps you moving through the real story that the beautifully-painted backgrounds slowly reveal. I finished it yesterday, and I still can't stop thinking about it. I'm amazed. This is one of my favorite games I have ever played.

Most polished game at the right price. From one of the reviews that I read, this game was made by Randy Smith and other industry veterans. Mr Smith is the designer behind Return to the Haunted Cathedral in Thief. In his stint in the company Looking Glass Studios, he must have played a role in shaping games such as Ultima Underworld, System Shock 1 and 2 and the Thief series. With such a resume, I'm not surprise that Spider is such an intuitive and polished game. What I'm surprise is the price of this app. It's just so, so right at $2.99! Perhaps one of the best iPhone app I have ever bought!

Spider the Secret of Bryce Manor. A MUST HAVE game - favorite all my downloaded games. If you think it's "too short," check out your stats; chances are you haven't mastered all the possible achievements or tried getting high score on the "precision" game. Graphics are superb. Think it's too pricey? How many $0.99 games have you bought only to find them a total waste?! WELL worth the price. Can't wait for these developers to come up with another game. When they do, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

Arachnaphobe friendly entertainment. I was very pleasantly surprised by this simple yet sophisticated game. It truly embodies what I would describe as the esence of a iPhone game in terms of elegant interaction with the interface. The game slowly builds to show more advanced moves and capabilities to unlock a challenging puzzle in the guise of helping a spider navigate interesting maps and capturing assortments of insects that require varied techniques. I never thought I would ever want to touch a spider, virtual or otherwise, and have a blast playing this clever and entertaining distraction.

Great game for touch screen, but.... This game looks great and is a lot of fun to play. It is perfectly suited for the iPhone and iPod Touch, so it doesn't take long to figure out how to make the spider jump and build webs with a flick of your finger. That said, there are just not enough levels to the game. I could play only so many times I could play before I became bored with it. While the idea if finding hidden secrets seemed interesting at first, once you get through the entire game, that's it (aside from the extra bugs to find) - the secret clues don't mean anything in this game. I hope the developer will make it possible to use secrets and clues found to solve a puzzle or mystery in a future version. It's still a good game for the price, but I would happily pay more if there were additional levels and a satifying ending.

Great. This probably is the best game made specificly for the iPhone. It is creative, beautiful, intuitive and satisfying. You play only against yourself and at your own pace. It is relaxing and fun. The only issue I have is with the developer advertising that there is hours of game play. This is only the case for young children I would imagine. The game is less than one hour your first time through, even with clearing all levels. I only care because I liked the game play so much I wanted more. None the less it is worth the 3 dollars and five star rating.

Fun and Addictive Game. This game is my current favorite. It's really addicting and very hard to put down. The graphics are also stunning. It's definitely better than 4 stars, but if I'd give it 4 1/2 stars because of one niggling little complaint. If you're interrupted or go to the home screen mid-level, when you go back the level resets. I've been almost finished with a level and got a message that I had to answer, when I got back to the game, I had to do the entire level over again. Background support would definitely be a welcome addition here. Despite that little complaint though, it a great game and very worth the $2.99 purchase price. If I had an iPad, I'd even by the HD version for $4.99 extra.

Very neat!. I love this game. This idea of playing as a spider intrigued me very much, and the intuitive controls and beautiful levels really gave me the feeling that I WAS a spider. What really sold this game for me was the smooth controls, enjoyable BGM, the absolutely adorable movements of the spider (I'm a sucker for cute), and the fact that I have to put down my games at work quite often to actually.. y'know.. work... and this game didn't stick me with a time limit or enemies. It doesn't matter what I'm doing in the game, I can always set it down and never feel like I've 'lost my place'. I look forward to a sequel!

Tedious Time-Killer. Sadly, I'm forced to agree with all the spoil-sports, (what I would usually call them), who reviewed this game negatively. I found this game unique and interesting.... until I didn't. It gets sooo boring, like work or elevator music, though the in-game music is better than that, I admit. I find myself hard-pressed to play it anymore, but I can't delete something I've paid for, maybe my wife will enjoy it when we're waiting for a movie to start at the theater. Plus, the controls fall well short of the fabled "perfection" claimed in these reviews. I suppose it's worth noting that I'm a puzzler more than anything, the best puzzle game I've played recently was Braid on my 360. Now there was a fantastic $15 bargain! I hope that if anybody actually scrolls down far enough to read this review, what they take from it is this: if you have a friend who's already paid, then play his copy until you're bored- (5-7 levels in, for me), and then quit, cuz that's it! Beautiful but, "meh" for me. Like some of the other reviewers, I am not high on this game. I want to like it. The logical side of me says there is a lot to like: beautiful graphics, catchy music, original concept. But, the most important component for a game, fun factor, isn't there for me. (I actually completed all 38 levels in adventure mode. Halfway through the game, I was finishing the levels just to get to the end and because I actually paid for this game...a buck, thankfully.) So, my verdict: I can see why some say this is "game of the year" material for the graphics, music, and overall cosmetic side of the game. But, it is just not *fun* to play for me.

One of the best games for iTouch!. Simply an enthralling, brilliant, addictive game. As you travel through the mansion, uncovering secrets, spinning webs and eating insects, the player really feels like one is a spider. Deceptively easy to learn, the gameplay is fun and intense (don't run out of silk!) and is endlessly entertaining. This would be a great game on any OS, be it phone, iPod or home computer. Really brilliant in it's simplicity and fun. Not a glitch that I can find and truely worth more than the 2.99 I paid. Keep up the great work!

Spider crashes. Love the game but can only find 16 secrets out of 17 the problem is that sometimes when the game is loading up it will try to go to a web page and gets stuck have to let my iPod die before before I can do anything also it was messing up 2 other games of mine I think it may have a hidden virus in it as since it has been deleted my other games now work fine hope you guts fix this issue because I would like to plat again please send email for update for this problem as it is now deleted thanks for a wonderful game!

Highly addictive!!!. This is by far the best game app I have purchased to date! It's a blast to play, and challenging at the same time. The web spinning and bug munching seem real, and I love crushing the bees. I actually can't stand bugs, especially spiders, so maybe there's a psychological component to why I love this game so much. The only thing that was a let down was the fact that the description of the game made me think that there was some secret to solve about Bryce Manor - some puzzle to uncover. I've found secrets along the way, but nothing really happens after I find them. Am I not doing something I should when I find them, or do you find it all out when you've conquered all levels? This would be good to know. But other than that, it's amazing!

So Fun! Leaves you wanting more.... This game has really grabbed a hold of me! Let me start by saying I am a person who loves games that let you wander, explore and work things out at one's own pace. The Secret of Bryce Manor lets me do just that and more. I have had this game since late fall of 2010 and truthfully I played it in small intervals and not constantly. As I progressed through the manor I was caught up in the whole environment and nuances of the game and have now finished it. I have yet to try the other ways to play because as I mentioned I like the exploring aspect but will break down and try thoughs as well. The one thing I would ask of the developers is to add neighboring manors or houses and let the exploring continue. I would even be up for an in app purchase per neighbor(if they were .99 or cheaper). The web spinning, jumping, and tackling of certain insects is so great. The rooms and secrets are well done and beautifully staged. Keep up the great work Tiger Style and PLEASE keep developing this gem of a game!

Truly a unique experience.. Hands down my favorite iPhone game. From the beautiful and somwhat creepy visuals to the excellent sound track it's a feast for the senses. The game play is fun and not too difficult to master. I've paid for many games and I would have been happy to have shelled out $10 for this game. At the current price it's a steal. One more thing I love the cinematic touch of how the title floats over the background when u start the game. It's obvious the developers spent a lot of time on the little details. That sets Spider ahead of the pack. Can't wait to see what Tiger Style has has in store for thir next game.

A nearly perfect game.. A few have mentioned level select which I agree with but that's pretty much it. I wish I could listen to the music from each level without having to get there but I'm nitpicking. The game is a flawless example of what the iDevice can do. Every iDevice should ship with this game on it. It's the price of a pint, or the price of a burger... If you're looking at reviews, save yourself the time and just pick it up. You will not regret it.

I'm Hooked on this!. I give reviews straight up - good, bad, ugly, hideous, whatever. This is one of the good ones. Spider is addicting. The interface is perfect. The gameplay is flawless. No crashes, no issues that take you away from just enjoying the game. And it is just plain fun! Easy to learn, and great graphics. If there is one down side to this game, it is that there needs to be more of it! I finished the basic game, and then went through a bunch of achievements and different versions in less than a day. I know this took a long time to create, and the developers were meticulous about every aspect of Spider, so I don't want them to rush out with crappy updates. But please hurry up with more rooms to exlore! You guys nailed this. Well done!

Superb. Good: Graphics are outstanding and artful. Game control is intuitive and easy. Bad: I haven't encountered any major drawbacks so far. My only recommendations are to put in a level selector so that you can go back and replay a level if you want to try for a better score and to be able to see a snapshot of how you previously solved it. This is an outstanding and unique game, there's nothing out there like it. I would highly recommend this.

A Truly Amazing Game. This game was extremely fun for me, and I enjoyed it very much. I still don't entirely understand the meaning, but that's perfectly fine with me. The controls get a little bit hard now and again, but otherwise it is flawless... Except for one part that really bothers me. The lack of a level select feature. This game has about 30 levels in it and I cannot seem to find a level select button which becomes really cumbersome when you want to replay a level. My personal favorite is the clotheline level, but it is somewhere near the middle of the game, so the only way to get to it is to play all the levels before it, and that may become frustrating. I apologize if there is a level replay, but if there isn't I would very much appreciate you putting one in (only accesible after beating the game at least) on the next update, whenever that may be. Thank you and I hope you listen to my suggestion.

Bravo! What a fresh idea!. I downloaded this app after I saw some of my coworkers playing this in our studio. It is a wonderfully creative and fresh idea with rich gameplay and visuals. The controls work well and are quite intuitive and the experience is deep. It truly gives you the experience of being a spider as you spin webs to catch insects. Facebook connect is a great addition to post stories to your wall. Well done! Definitely a stand out game for the iPhone!

Excellent Game. This game is definitely in the Top 10 of all iPhone games! Very fun gameplay which makes excellent use of gestures (though it can be a little finicky every once in a while). It has decent replayability. Only one issue is a bug I found in opening a specific room the second time through the game. Did everything right, heard the unlock but no dice when I went to open later.
