Church Organ App Description & Overview

What is church organ app? Did you even dreamed to carry a big Church Organ in your pocket, to play while travelling or sitting in your sofa?

It is now possible, thanks to Church Organ!

Church Organ will enable you to play a big pipe organ with your iPhone / iPad, with a "wide" range of sounds for the size of the device. It offers pipe organ realism that you will really enjoy!
It is suitable for any music, religious or profane. Obviously, due to the size of the instrument, musical pieces needs some adaptations to be played. But still, you'll get pleasure to play our digital organ pipe. We are currently working on improving the use of the keyboards and octaves.

Our church organ is composed of two independent keyboards or 4 octaves. On every keyboard, you can assign one or 2 voices, among a choice of 6 voices. You control them with the two sets of 6 stop knobs above the piano keyboard. It can do automatic transposition. You can play in any key with the same keyboard position. You just need to select the note to play on the C key of the keyboard.

The sound is processed from high quality uncompressed sound samples, for bringing you the best musical experience. We selected the voices among the most common and famous sounds.

Upper keyboard may play one or two voices from:
- Big church organ, with big, warm and full sound (subwoofer offers good results for the lowest octave)
- Warm organ, with simpler sound, very interesting
- Synthesizer, crystal and warm sound
- Piccolo flute, which brings the light flute sound
- Recorder
- Clarinet, with the typical vibrating reed sound

Lower keyboard may play one or two voices from :
- Big church organ
- Warm organ
- Synthesizer
- Trombone, a large and low pitched brass instrument
- Tuba, very close to Trombone. Playing them is pair is interesting.
- Recorder

Depending on the instrument, we advise you to select the proper octave on the keyboard for the best sound. For example, the recorder sound is interesting from octave 2 to 4 (not so much in first octave).

You can play up to 5 notes at a time, from any keyboard. You should not push the volume at the maximum within Church Organ preferences, otherwise some clicks may appear in the sound. We included a feature to auto adapt the sound level according to the music played to always have the maximum volume without clicks.

An option is available for sustaining the notes after releasing the keyboard keys. Three choices are available: no sustain, sort sustain and long sustain. This option increases the realism of the church organ!

You may use the following tunings :
- Modern tempered scale,
- Pythagorician scale (pre XVI century),
- Meantone scale (1600),
- Werckmeister III scale (1691),
- Bach/Lehman scale (1722)
- Hindustani harmonic scale (suits also Carnatic music)

For getting the best sound from this instrument, it is advised to use a good headphone or a pair of speakers with subwoofer.

Amazing!. Great job.

Wow!!. I had no idea that a small app can have such realistic and clear sound.

Disappointment. For me the biggest disappointment was the rave reviews. The samples are low quality and electronic. The keyboard response is pretty good but there's no animation or coloration to show what keys are being played. This app has a lot of potential, but I would like to see one thing done well rather than having several options - all rather poor.

User. Decent in the sense that it's more than I could come up with and it does allow basic polyphony. More of an organ-like toy.

A Lot Of Fun. Really enjoying this app. Hooked my iPad to external speakers and thought I had a Hammond B3! It'd really be fun to record and email. Also a "strings" voice would be cool. Many thanks, Winston Roark

It's ok for 99 cents. The sound is not great quality -- I agree with the reviewer that if you've ever heard or played a real organ, this isn't it. The lack of any visual response to having played a particular key is a definite negative. You have to be careful that if you have several fingers playing and you accidentally swipe your hand, the app thinks your either shutting down or swiping to some other app. All in all it's a fun little 99 cent toy, but nothing more.

Waste of money. Don't purchase.

Sounds Great!. It would be nice to have a full octave. I can do it but at the cost of seeing only half the top and bottom keys. -Not a deal breaker, still a great app!!

Meh.. Works kinda. Sounds fake. But when you need a 1960s electronic organ sound, here you go.

Ready when you are.... Do you play music? Ever had a thematic organ tune frolicking through your head? Just need something to work out a melody? This app does the trick. Good quality tones, polyphonic of course. A seamless recording feature would be nice. Worth $.99 without a doubt.

Best. This has to be one of the greatest and best sounding organ apps ever

Can not connect to external midi. Not able to connect to my MIDI keyboard what's the point??

Good. I'm a guitar player and keyboard playing hack, but I find this pretty intuitive and a great sound.

Fantastic tool for cantors at home. I cantor in church and often am pressed for time to learn our weekly psalm verses. This app simulates the organ well enough to be a great aid to me. The sound quality is very good for that kind of use. I recommend this app for any church vocalist who practices at home and cannot afford or find space for a big 'ole Hammond or Allen in the living room!

Fantastic. As an organist, this is as close to the real thing as the iPhone will ever get to a real organ. Plus, it FINALLY has iPhone 5 screen compatibility! I only have two suggestions: - more stops - key animations when a key is pressed Otherwise, the latest update has been great!

Another terrific app. Their harmonium and shruti box are top notch and this one is too. Thumbs up!

Very basic and limited. This app is a fun little app that comes in very handy when you just want to tap out a quick tune. You are given two manuals with a one-octave range, each. Each manual can be slid to the left or to the right to increase or decrease the pitch access. And if you are precise in how you position the keyboards, you can actually get part of one additional key added to the octave. But, unfortunately, this app is quite limited in what you are able to do. The keys are too big for the screen which limits the range to one octave per manual. I would like to see the size of the keys reduced by at least 25% so that more keys could be made available in each manual. Also, the voicing of the stops is not as diverse as it could be. Furthermore, trying to play both manuals at the same time can become extremely cumbersome and clumsy, if not impossible. As it is, you are only able to play with one, maybe two, fingers. This app would be much more useful if you have a large-screen like that of an iPad.

Quite nice little app!. if you don't like organ sounds, please don't get it. If the king of instruments is your favorite, you can have a bit of fun with this.

It's ok. Wish the keys would "move". If you know what I mean...... I play gospel music and thought this app would b fun....it didn't impress me much

Why?. Garbage.

Fi and finish. Lousy fit and finish. Definitely needs updating

Good sound, but poor interface. Great organ sound that isnt leslie-like, like Garageband. Other sounds are really digital. My biggest beef is the fact that there are no animations in the program. Keys don't move, and theres no easy quick scrolling feature or key size options like Garageband. Its good for a quick organ fix but needs serious GUI upgrades.

Worst ap I've purchased yet. If you had never heard an organ you might like this one.

Not worth it. Junk. Sorry.

A must have... very impressive sounds. I like your pipe organ... Quite easy to use, it's good you separated the keyboard like that. Thanks for the latest update, it corrected the tuning problems I encountered.

Very good sound.. I plugged this into my headphones, and I was amazed at what I heard. If you like to practice the piano, keyboard, or organ, or just want to play around with it, this is the app for you!

Wanted: Better quality pipe organ sound. It is a nice app, but it does need better quality pipe organ sounds such as large theatre and large classic pipe organ. I'll keep my fingers crossed for updates.

Best Buck I Ever Spent!. I bought this app thinking that it would be cool, but not the best, and that the instruments would sound bad. I got this app and was amazed. The instruments sounded great, and you could slide the keyboard by pressing the arrows, which means more keys! Best $0.99 Ive ever spent!

Worthwhile Organ App. Instrument is good substitute for establishing pitch for sacred voice when away from church.

Horrible. Where do I go to get my money back?

Organ. This is so cool. My brother downloaded this and it's not bad at all. Good app

OK, but.... It's ok for .99 but lacks a lot of functionality. It would be nice if they could include easier sliding keys and maybe more synth sounds.

Wonderful. This is a wonderful app. Sounds great. No apparent glitches

Works fine. This is a program that I am using to give right tone in rehearsals. I am working with a few professional music groups and we are using higher a (443hz). The sustained tones are good and loud enough. Good tool for decent price.

Fun melody maker. Great for impressing others with your knowledge of wedding marches and haunted house themes! Lots of fun.

. It absolutly stinks don't bother buying it I don't like it for what I was going to use it for

Nice features...but no pipes. Some nice features, but alas, the sampled sounds are not pipe organ sounds. The pipe graphics are misleading. Think reeds and theatre organs...not pipes and Chartres...not St. Marks. What a shame. Also, with two manuals, it would be nice to be able to play more than four notes at a time.

Cute. Bemusing and entertaining.

Great app. We are all having so much fun with this high quality app. Just wish we could record and email songs to others.

Not bad. It sounds ok, i'd say it resembles the real one around 85% 90%. Would be better if it had more lower octaves and reverb effect.

latency fixed. good work it's awesome now

Missing AirPlay. Be nice to have built in ability to redirect the audio via AirPlay to Bluetooth speakers natively in the app. You can use Screen Share to an AppleTV but there is lag due to the visual overhead in the signal. If you could AirPlay only the sound to Bluetooth speakers with no lag that would be awesome.

Great full sound. I love the beautiful tones of this organ. It is a true reproduction of the full sound of a large church organ like you get in huge cathedrals.

GreatApp. This is really good to use. I can use it with headphones and the wide range of sounds & the 2 keyboards allow a 2 octave range on 1 screen.

Awesome App. This is a really cool app. I love Organ's and to bring it to the iPhone is really cool.

Sounds great. Good classic organ sound. Better than Logic pro organ presets. I will use it for a theatre performance.

Ne vaut pas la peine. Son de l'orgue peu crédible.

Church organ. Well I skeptically downloaded this app and was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. Sounds much better on headset or external speakers. Nice work team! Look forward to updates!

Not really worth it. I really do wish we could try apps before buying. The sound is not really good and the interface could be improved.

Settings. The organ sounds good but the setting for the “A” note keeps changing back to 370Hz, instead of staying at 440Hz. Also, every time I open the app, I have to go back to settings before the organ will play any sound. It also forgets the arrangement of the keys when I move them. Please fixed them.

Not so good. You cant even play more than two notes at a time, which is lame. Probably should have been free, not worth $0.99
