Awesome!. I've just recently started learning Finnish (about 3 days in), and this app has been very helpful so far. The pronunciation audio and sample sentences are particularly useful for learning the language. If you want to seriously learn Finnish, this will most likely be a big help to you. Enjoy!

Aaaaaa!!!!!. Everytime i try to open this, it crashes!!! This looks like a great app but since i cant open it... Nevermind. Does it just crash on iPod touch? Kiitos, Suomi guy

As a language teacher . . .. As a language teacher focused on Spanish for 35 years, all electronic means of learning are supports or tools. The best is to obviously work on a language daily where it is used. Not being around Finns who are using the language means reaching out to apps and chat and it works. The app is a tool and the work is keeping up with study in the way you learn best. I am Finnish but was discouraged from learning the language as a child. Cold War era. The app and other online tools are helping restore what was lost. Good enough app.

Good for vocab. Great for vocab, wish it taught you more about how to speak the language instead just words. It's good to know but in Finnish the words change so much according to the sentence that sometimes the base word to a foreigner is changed so much it's hard to recognize

Great app. Very clear pronunciation, easy to read print. Even my young children are able to use it with ease. Live the word bank Wish I could add my own words though.

I can finally learn Finnish outside of school. This app has helped me so much, nousta alukseen means to board, I have so far learned fifty words and I can speak those words quite well.

Great way to learn Finnish. I really like the Word of the Day. Plus the ability to not only listen to how the word sounds but to record your own voice saying it is great.

Helping :). This app is really helpful and in my opinion has everything I pretty much need to know... Although there's probably millions more it's actually the best I've seen so far!

First rate. As someone who is not a natural a language I am finding the series very helpful. The varies activities are good and I am very pleased that my retention from day to day is very good.

Good starts. It's a good start, when learning any language the first 100 and up to 1000 most used words really unlocks a language. This app is a very helpful way of getting introduced to base words. Not to mention it's very hard to find good information on the finnish language and learning.

Great app. UPDATE: So far since they updated this app, I haven't had any problems with it crashing. Even though I also have the paid version, I still find this useful. One can only keep track of so many words at a time anyway. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have the same problem with it crashing on my ipod touch. The solution is to delete & reinstall. This solves the problem (at least it did for me), but of course means you lose all the words in your word bank. I found I had to do this about 5-6 times. Frustrating, but hard to complain since the app's free. Now, the $10 paid version I upgraded to and have the same problem with is a different story! But this is a great app, otherwise. Hei hei!

Mostly Good. I like getting a new word per day. My husband, who is Finnish, has found and clarified a couple of errors in the past. I have lost my word bank when my phone crashed. Most words are good. I like having the pronunciation.

Not bad at all. I have Fin relatives to help me with grammar, but this helps with vocabulary. Could it be better? For what it does, maybe. Does it do a good job? For what it is, definitely. This isn't a full fledge language course though.

Useless. I realize this is a free app, and i was OK with the allotment of one vocabulary word a day--Finnish is a difficult language to learn and there is no rush for me to become fluent. I deleted the app on the second day of use when the second vocabulary word i was supposed to learn was "Ho Chi Minh City" (Ho Chi Minh kaupunki in Finnish). Ho Chi Minh City? Really? I'm sure that word is incredibly useful while traveling in Finland. Not.

Finnish language course. I'm a real beginner, but I'm sticking with it. I've learned a lot already, because the explanations and details in this course are well thought out.

Excellent. A couple of words a day is just the speed that I can handle at the moment. The audio is very clear and true to accent. Flashcards are great to practice with.

great for learning, full version is much better.. Great app, with pictures, native speaker audios, broad categories, example sentences, and of course flashcards with customisable question Note on the free version: Your phone has to be ON when the time reach 00:00 to get a new word, and it doens't accumulate. so you need to look open the app to get a new word the next day. I upgraded to the full version and got 1502 common words instantly, very useful! Definitely better value than uTalk Finnish which had only 284 words (i bought both, same price, but was first enticed with the nice pictures of uTalk)

Worth. In terms of value for your money can't beat it :p seems to give the basics and essentials for learning another language. Like anything it takes some work but it certainly puts you on the right track.

Very good so far !!. Just started and it’s difficult but very fun! I wish the words started more basic like “I, we, you, etc.” Instead of foods and brands, but this is only one category of many that I tapped on so I’m looking forward to seeing and learning more!! :-)
