Real nice. I love the app with the word bank and all but I see recycled words through the months. I would less recycling and more advance vocabulary.

Good app. I like this app because I can take the lessons with me anywhere...great for a long wait at the doctors office or even a short one somewhere else..I do a few minutes here and there everyday..

Had sound now it doesn't...disappointed. When I first got this app it had sound and for last few months it has not- that is very disappointing and I would not recommend it as a result.

Good app. Overall a good app, but it froze on me last night and had to reinstall. I lost all of my previous words and now have to start all over. 

Unimpressed with the vocabulary. I purchased the full version but so far the variety of vocabulary is laughable. In the art section the word "foto" repeats four times in the list and there are no expressions like "to take a photo"

Audio and record failures. The play back and record functions of the word power app consistently fail to operate on the iPhone 4. Word power's "support" is weak and has not been able to deliver solutions either. Advice: save your money look for app that does what it says it will.

Beyond Basics. Practical, easy and fun way to learn words and phrases you're likely to use often. Even conjunctions are introduced, which the student picks up without being intimidated. Great way to improve vocabulary, reading, pronunciation and overall comprehension. I particularly benefitted from the using the word in sentences tool.

Get it!. It's good enough to kick off.

Clean App!!!. Easy to use, fun to learn

Over 15 mins to load this app on a brand new iPad 2. Once loaded there is one screen. Only teaches you how to pronounce one sentence. If you're trying to sell a fully loaded app off of this chincy sample, good luck! I'm in the market for a good Brazilian Portuguese teaching app too! The next and previous arrows don't work, and basically the only option you have is to upgrade to full. Obrigada por nada guys.

Great app.... But takes up way too much space on my phone. I am a developer and instead of loading the words into memory please give some option to like make a packets ajax request to load a bunch of words at once in the background. A vocab list even top tier shouldn't take 700MB optimized

Simple. 5 stars now that they added audio to the sample sentences!

Terrible. This app was extremely slow to download, and then worthless to use. I deleted it immediately. Dont waste your time.

No sound buttons. This program used to work great until the sound buttons disappeared. This supposed to get fixed with the latest update but, it didn't still no sound.

Waste of time. You only get one phrase sampler for free.

Word of the Day. Great App.. Download just to learn a new word each day.. It's helped me learn hundreds of new words

Muito bom! Muito bem! (To paraphrase João Gilberto). Excellent for beginners. Gives you enough to make your way through Brasil. Very good review for novice speakers. Great if you do not live near any native speakers but want to keep your ears accustomed to hearing the language.

Easy to use and understand.. The Portuguese Word for the Day app is easy to use and understand. The ability o hear the native speaker pronounce the words and the use them in phrases is beneficial. I would recommend this program to beginning speakers of Portuguese

Fun way to pick up a language. Love the word of the day. Could be improved by having categories so the daily word could be related to say 'travel' .

New version crashes. After updating to 4.6 the app crashes on the startup screen. I have tried re-starting iPhone and re-installing the app with no success. Tried multiple times to contact tech support through their website, each attempt failing to send. I am running an iPhone 4 which is restricted to iOS 7.1.2 so don't let my review discourage you if you're a little more up to date than me. But I find it frustrating that Innovative Languages released this version for iOS7 when it clearly doesn't work.

Ok... For a while.. Great little app. Worked really well for about 2 weeks then just stopped working. Perhaps the latest software upgrade was the problem??? I was going to buy the full version... but now me thinks not! UPDATE: Same problem exists even after latest upgrade... SO FRUSTRATING.

Firegirl3. This is a really good program if it would stay loaded. I love the ease of it and to be able to listen to the accurate pronunciation of the language is tops.

Missing audio?. This was a very promising app in that it had an optional audio version of the word or phrase. This was helpful in proper pronunciation, which is essentialnin Portuguese. Anyhow, since the latest update it appears audio is no longer working. I still get the daily notification, even without wifi on. Hope the next update brings back the audio!

Brazilian Portugese. Just started with app. First impressions are good. Will review again once I have done some lessons.

My Rating of Free Wordpower. This program performs masterfully the functions it says it will do. The free version is a wonderful vocabulary builder. It does not teach grammar and does not claim to do so. Therefore, I give free word power a B plus to an A grade.

It's better than nothing.. I don't need to study Portuguese right now so this a refresher. If I had to get up to speed fast another app would be necessary.

Dumbest language learning app. It shows you one word a day...a word you'll never use in day to day conversation.

Ehh!. Seemed useful at first but then it started giving me useless words and no phrases. Then on the last update it would crash for iPhones on vs 4.2

Crashes on open, bothers me every day. This app was nice fir a while, though most of the words were very simple (a plus for some people). Now it crashes on open, but it still alerts me every day at midnight that I have a new word. Please fix.

Falls short. Ok, but not as good as it could be, or should be for $ 9.99. Useful words/phrases missing. Useless words/phrases included. Here's hoping it will be improved at next upgrade as the concept is great.

Crashes on open. I have been using this app or a few months and I love it! It only just recently started giving me problems and now it will crash every time I try to open it. Please fix this, I would like to get back to learning Portuguese! :D
