Excellent - my favorite voice memo app. I have been using this app for quite some time, and it works great. Currently using the latest version on my Iphone 6 Plus, with the most recent operating system update installed. I keep this on my home screen, although I sometimes just use Siri to call it up. One thing I really like is that you can quickly open the app, record a memo, and it will automatically name and save it (using current date and time) with hardly any typing. If you want to catch and record quick ideas without fumbling around, this works beautifully. I have bought NUMEROUS voice recorder apps, but this one has become my favorite "go to" app. I'd definitely recommend it.

Crashes. I’ve had this app for years and since the last update, when I try to insert a recording in a previous recording, it crashes

Great for meetings!. I don't have to take notes and can focus and concentrate on what each person is saying. At the end of the day I can review the recording and make permanent notes. I guess I'm at an age that taking notes and listening and focusing at the same time is a lot more difficult!

Fail -Spontaneously stops recording. I bought this because of the comprehensive feature set including threshold recording and ability to record during sleep mode but have not any success with it. It will stop recording after anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour and the resulting file won't even play. Maybe OK for short memos but no good for recording lectures or long meetings. Another reviewer said he had to turn on airplane mode to prevent calls from stopping the recording. I'm on an iPad and this fix didn't help me. Emailed the developer twice and they have been totally unresponsive so their support pretty much matches the stability of the app. Next....

Great app but for one missing feature. I love the features on this app. AND... I really want a recording app that records in mp3. But I also need to be able to set how the name of a file is initially created (for me I like the date in YYYYMMDD_ format, then I append to that the first initial and last name of the client I'm having a session with, i.e. YYYYMMDD_FLast). I also need to be able to upload the files to a remote server via (actual) FTP, or to my PC via WiFi or iTunes FTP. AudioMemo Pro does this for me. But it doesn't do it in mp3, and so I have to then run the files through a program that turns them into mp3s. I've learned from experience that not all my clients (I have hundreds) can play the WAV format files, but that they can play mp3 format. I wish it did this too! But otherwise this is the best audio recorder app out there. Very feature rich.

Among the best of iOS audio recording apps. This is an app that gives more than expected. I especially like the adjustable input gain and the ability to append to a recording at any time. The app has frozen a couple times when exiting and returning to the app while recording. It is also now crashing when I click on Progresses in the Info section. This is probably due to failed uploads (wrong FTP server info). I don't know how to clear the failed uploads since it crashes before showing any uploads in progress. Here's something very cool. With AudioMemos, I can simultaneously record my voice and a simple keyboard part (using Virtuouso Piano app). Handy way to capture a song idea.

Works well, could be more intuitive, but customer service is great. I've been using this app to record interviews for my PhD dissertation for a while. It takes a little while to get used to some of its quirks, but it does the job quite well. Sound quality is great, even after using the file compression feature (which is really useful when you're on the road and don't have a fast connection for backing up your recordings). At one point the app did give me a major scare, after one of my recordings suddenly disappeared and I couldn't figure why or out how to recover it. But I contacted customer service, and they helped me to recover it. All in all, I'm sticking with it and would definitely recommend it!

A MUST own App. This is what an iOS application is supposed to be like. A beautifully simplistic interface and yet it is so rich with features. There are more bells and whistle‘s found in this app than any carnival around!!! Most importantly though, this App is consistently and utterly reliable. If you’re going to buy a voice app, you would be a fool to buy anything else. Kudos to the developer.

The "Best Lil App in town.". I've had the benefit of being able to peruse at lot of applications for my iPad online. And to be honest a good percentage of them are well thought out and very useful. But this application bar none has exceeded my expectations when it comes to vocal transcription of meetings, conversations or just its use as a vocal stenographer. I can say beyond all doubt that if you require an utility that offers the same set of useful capabilities and you do not check this one out you will be doing yourself and your efforts a great disservice.

Problems that need to be fixed.. Two issues one when you send a email it don't send the recording with it and could it be bigger size. Second the quality won't set to the highest it keeps going back to the lowest quality could you please fix these problems. But other than that it's a really good app.

No Bluetooth microphone support. On the web you see a Bluetooth mic option on a screen capture for this version which is absent. A waste of 10 bucks. Wanted to record from my Bluetooth mic in my motorcycle helmet and I feel deceived.

An important tool at board meetings. As Secretary for a nonprofit arts organization, one of my duties is to take board meeting minutes. I've used AudioMemos for that purpose since the application was first released. The longer I use it, the better it becomes. The developers do a good job listening to customer concerns and helping solve issues. They also have fixed many of the bugs that plagued the app in the beginning. If I was to ask for one feature, it would be to have the ability to view pdf documents in iBook while a recording is in progress. As it stands now, when a document is opened, the recording is interrupted. However, this could be the result of my first gen iPad, rather the the AudioMemos app. Keep up the good work! Fantastic. I have been tolerating other recorder for a semester and finally sucked it up and paid for this one... I'm very glad I did! I have had it about a week now and already I'm very pleased with the functionality of it. It not only pauses but if you accidentally stop it you can open the note and add on to it! You can merge separate files, you can add bookmarks as you record , add multiple tags for easy search/sorting later, you can edit the files on your phone in the app, you can change the title while you are recording and you can even convert it from wav to AAC in the app by either creating a copy in a different format or replacing the old one! Yes 10$ is a little pricy but I have been very pleased! If you are looking for functionality then it's totally worth it!! Thank you!!

Useless...deletes recordings on ending recording. I purchased this to record lectures at an important seminar I was attending. After the first 2 lectures were improperly deleted by the app when I ended the recording, I went with a different solution. I thought I had made a mistake with the first one...but paid close attention during the second. After pausing the recording, then clicking done...the recording simply vanished. Don't buy this app if your recordings are important to you.

Has Issues. This would be a great app if it worked correctly but it has deleted many of my recordings right in the middle of a seminar. It will freeze up, stop recording, delete the entire recording, and close out of the program on it's own, leaving me stranded with no recording. I have also completed an interview before, got 45 minutes into an hour long interview and it stopped and deleted my recording with no one touching it. That was terrible and then I had to start all over. No one was very happy that day and I was embarrassed and frustrated! It is not very reliable. I have had to purchase other means of recording. The last update was when I started having so many problems with trying to record. Please fix these freezing and stopping mid recording then deleting my recording issues. This is very frustrating and at this point it is not worth the money if it is not going to be a reliable program.

Where is bluetooth in the menu. I bought this app, record while I am riding through my bluetooth headset microphone. But i see iPhone microphone all the time I record. Explanation shows that there is an option to choose bluetooth microphone but not in my menu??? Is there a chance to return this app!? I do not feel good, because I believe what I read on explanations before I buy. There is no bluetooth microphone option!!! Please send me information, what would you do for that.

Consistently the Best Audio Recording App. I’ve been using this for years for meetings, family arguments, and priceless memories of things my kids say. Not working with iOS 9. This app has no longer work since I updated and bought a new phone it does not work on my iPad my iPhone six or my iPhone 6s. It will not unlock and when it does it freezes up or it closes out and I have to restart it and it does the same thing on all my devices.

Very Good. Not perfect, but I'm pleased. I've used 3 or 4 other apps of the same type, and this one is the best of them. It's the only one which can be set to activate recording when it hears a sound, and pause during silence, to eliminate long periods of silence. There may be others that do this now, but a month ago it was the only one, and that's the one feature I had to have, so I bought it. I found a bug when I first got it, but I emailed in and someone responded to me quickly, and the bug was fixed in just a few days. I thought was impressive.

Easy and effective!. I'm a writer, and had driven out of state to interview people for an article I was working on. An hour before my first interview, someone advised me that my iPad was actually capable of recording the interview rather than my writing notes the entire time. Thankfully, I found this wonderful app. It was so easy to learn a first grader could handle it with no problems. I was able to record these very important interviews for my work, and it went smoothly without any problems. Don't know if I really needed to keep touching the screen periodically to prevent the iPad from going to "sleep," but these recordings were far too important to find out after the fact, so I did tap the screen several times to keep the iPad alive. This application has turned out to be an invaluable tool for my work. Thank you for making it so easy to use!

Excellent. Great for choral parts and practice. Simple to use. Wish all apps were this good and easy to use!

All that. Suggested to me by an organizational firm to help get all the junk out of my head and save it for later filing and actions. Tried several others and they are no where near as good or user friendly!!! I highly recommend.

AudioMemos. Very good app. I've compared it to several others and it's my app of choice for now. Good fidelity and sensitivity, very easy to use for lectures and meetings (large or small rooms) and even for very soft sounds, like recording at night. Easy to auto record.

Think and choose your app wisely. Since i bought this app, i hardly use it but for only for certain occassions. I found this app wonderful and easy to use. One feature that facinates me even when you exit the app while recording is the app still functions.

Mostly good app -- but beware. I bought this app just for recording meetings so I could analyze and transcribe them. And for that purpose, it works well. But beware: several times now while moving back and forth through a recording, my left pinky has inadvertently contacted the trash can icon, and unrecoverably deleted the memo I was working on! I can't believe that in this day and age there is no protection against this! No confirmation before deletion, no undo function, and no trashcan from which to recover an accidentally deleted file. Just one easy, inadvertent move, and ::poof!:: -- you're hosed! Now, I send a backup copy of every memo to my Mac before I start working on it. And several times I've been very glad I did!

Don't receive calls/Facetime. Be prepared to lose long recordings-in-progress if you get a FaceTime call in the middle. I suspect this is true with other modal notifications as well (eg alarm clock). This has to do with the fact that the audio only gets compressed down to a file after recording stops. PS To make emailing easier record at low quality -- not a big deal if the sound is speech only.

Excellent app. I use this app daily while memorizing the HOLY QUR'AAN. As my teacher recites, I record his recitation. Then I listen to it repeatedly as I memorize. Once I complete a section I copy it onto a CD using iTunes on a laptop. I recommend it strongly. I also plan to use it to record my medical lectures. MOHAMED UMER,MD.

How to evaluate choices before purchase. I have the free version which has worked well. But I’m trying to evaluate whether I should upgrade to pro or pro plus,Have always been given the cost structure. I cannot find information yet about what the advantages are. There must be great advantages to upgrade to one of the choices so far I have not been able to find such a description and this is not unusual to this app. There must be that information that I need to make a decision but it should not be this difficult to find. Any help out there?

The best you will see. tested for days there are so many but not as good as this. Very functional but yet very simple to use. Has many incredibly useful function features. Quick and fast for short Memo’s yet fully featured for a total recorded message with markers and savings capabilities.

Great app for recording notes. I greatly appreciate this app for the ability to record personal notes under many different conditions including where background noise is unpredictable and variable. Especially with the great sound quality that makes it infinitely easier to listen to my notes, often several times, without being driven crazy by unappreciated background noise.

Have used this great app for years. In my opinion this is the very best audio recording app. I’ve used it for years now and what I like about the app is easily it is to add to a recording. You can add to the beginning of one, to the end and even insert more anywhere in the recording. You can easily edit one too. It’s the Best.

Option to Upload to iDisk or WebDave. I purchased this not knowing uploading to my iDisk (or WebDav) over WiFi is possible. This is exactly what I wanted. And impromptu thoughts for the screenplay I'm writing can be accompished, activating this app simply by my spoken words at any moment. Totally cool app. Glad I bought it …! Update 30 minutes after purchase: attempting to Save my Name and Password information within Settings/Auto-Send to my iDisk … crashes the app. Simply entering the window and then exiting crashes the app. But the process of setting a single voice memo's information to have it transfer to the iDisk functions. Update 2: setting the name and password for upload to my iDisk /Music folder on the info screen for the first audio memo I wanted to save automatically placed this info into the correct default Settings. All is well. Great app Audio Mo is.

Simple but effective. Well-written software! Has all the options I like, accept one- can't record during a phone call. My "workaround" is to use my iPad with this program while I have my iPhone on speaker mode.

Okay but could be better. I've have this app on my iPad for a year now, yet without ability to save as .mp3 the file is too large to send by email. .wav is nice quality but too big to send. Wish this app was more functional like Hi-Q MP3 recorder on droid which I use daily because I can save as .mp3 and email easily.

Great app if you want NO RECORD of what you recorded.. For the second time now I have used this app and had a complete freaking disaster. The recording went fine, everything seemed fine afterward when i stopped the recording, and the recordings all showed up in the list of your recordings like they normally should… And now, for the second time after a day or two, my recordings vanished. Without a trace. No way to recover them. I thought the first time was my fault – – I must've done something somehow to move them to some other place in the app? Nope. They're gone. The three hour interview -- which I auto separated into six different recordings because I was so nervous about losing them and which I will never get the chance to redo -- is now gone. Seriously do not get this app unless you want to tear your hair out and punch someone's skull through a plaster wall.

Does it ALL. I've been using this App in school for about 3 years and through the updates (regular) & just plain solidness/robustness of this program, I can review lectures, etc. with ease. If you need an audio record of what takes place around you, a better App would be hard to find. I bought all upgrades immediately, & use it on my i5 (not S) & iPad 3 & even my old iPod (ios6). Works wonderfully on all iDevices!

The best voice recorder!. This is really the best voice recorder I've bought in comparison with other ones; easy to use and fun too. Looking 🧐for a recoding app?? This is it people... Looking for a recorder right?? This is a simple, effective, recording app, and you can save them for how ever long...I’ve had the app for YEARS, I still have a recoding from another employee who threatened me at work. I’m a real human being lol, from Chicago with love my people (African, White, Latin, Asian, Indian, Native Americans (I wonder why its Native nowadays vs “Indians”...how the world has changed lol). The app is easy to use, and you honestly can’t go wrong...I’m 39, do you remember when the rainbow stood for “The Covenant between...people”...I’m not the religious one, but how the world has changed 🤔

Best one out there. This is by far the best recording app available. Very good sound quality, and the feature that allows you to network your device (iPad or iPhone) to your computer, enabling you to download your files, is awesome.

User. I think it runs great. I was able to record with iPhone in the edge of my pocket. I was also pleased with being able to record with a blackened screen out in the open. Discretion is the better part of valor.

Audio Memos Pro. I have had no problems with this at all. I don't use it an awful lot. Mostly just for tidbits of thoughts and reminders of things to do. I check in weekly, Deleting those that are no longer of use or that I have recorded elsewhere.

Excellent app. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because of an edit (or piece of trickery) regarding the recording of phone calls. Notwithstanding what the app says, it IS possible - or it was. it worked for me when I first installed the app by having the call on speakerphone. I specifically tested for this, because occasionally I need it. Subsequently, it mysteriously disappeared and the app started saying it was "not possible". Is this dishonesty or fiat by apple? Other than that, great app.

It's no good. Paid for the Pro Edition and can't get it on my Apple Watch face DONT bother with it

Very functional. The app is relatively easy to use considering the level of settings and features that one must sort thru to get the most out of it. And with the settings and features one gets a greater level of use from this app over some other recording apps available. Of course for the price I do expect a little bit more in future improvement and feature additions than I would expect from one of the ninety nine cent apps.

Used to be good. The app produced great recordings but the recent update changed all that. Recordings now are distorted and low quality.

audiomemo. I have been using this app extensively for extended interviews. The quality of the replay was very good, even on the minimal settings. Sometimes it picks up ambient noise over voices and I assume an external mike would be of great help but I have not yet purchased one. I found the most frustrating thing was getting the files off the ipad to send. Because they were lengthy interviews it was not just a simple case of pressing the send button. After going online to seek help, I found the settings could be changed to allow for auto compress. This meant that I could enjoy the easy send function on most of the memos I had created. It still meant using dropbox for the larger files. Even downloading onto drop box took an inordinate amount of time. All other aspects of the app are very user friendly even for a luddite like me! I wonder if this app can be teamed with a dragon type app which transcribes as well as records? That along with the great editing options already included would make this a terrifically useful study tool.

Audiomemos pro. I have many recording apps on my phone... and I keep coming back to this trusty reliable application. I love the fact that in settings... you can turn filtering off. Thus getting rid of the stupid iOS reprocessing of audio that makes every iOS device sound cheep and nasty. It also handles recordings when I am using an external audio input device or stereo mike.

Amazing!!!!!!!!. It's amazing and even works well with voiceover. The only thing I notice is when reseting other settings, it doesn't reset everything. I also saw a minor error in a message I'd received that said that iPod touch has no internal microphone. I know iPod 4 and 5 do. there are very minor bugs, so they don't really need fixing right away. You guys did well here! :-)

Feature Request. Please add the option of having time stamps (date and time) to markers. This would make it a 5 star app for me.

Needs work!. I lost my recordings of multiple hours. You can't undo any of your mistakes. Please fix this. Please have double or triple check on things to be erased forever. Even the trash please do not erase with one button touch. Have the action confirmed just in case you touched by mistake like I did. If you make this changes my review will change immediately. Looking foreword to it.

Great!. Great for recording lectures directly from the sound system (need an adapter), but occasionally it pauses for no reason. Still though, great app!

Great for doctor appointments and school notes. I wish I had this app when I was in school. I used a digital recorder that offered less quality and usability. These import into iTunes with some editing

Terrible update. This app used to be one of my favorites. As a student i read my class notes out loud and record them so i can listen to them while i am driving o r just doing stuff out of my house. To me this app was a very useful study tool, now is terrible. The appication crashes CONSTANTLY and messes up my recordings.

Not bad but.... This is a good recorder with essential features for a recorder but one important feature missing is making it to turn the recording on instantly like the Recorder Pro App where you can also easily rewind by just simply dragging the lever which goes simultaneously with voice recording feedback.

Recording meetings. Use this to record meetings. Some background noise, but easy to use and play back. I haven't used to transcribe yet.

Great program. User friendly. Easy to use. Great for preparing my work. It has a lot to it and though I have had it awhile, I am still learning new things.

False advertising - no FTP upload. Contrary to what is claimed in the description, this program will NOT "upload to any FTP server". To get recordings off of it, you have to connect the iPhone to the same WiFi network as a computer - which you then use to "upload to any FTP server". Well, of course - once a file is on a computer, anything can be done with it! But the whole point is having a recording app that can upload files without using a computer - vital for people working in the field, or traveling without a laptop. I feel ripped off, a victim of bait-and-switch.

Love it but update messed up sound. I really love this app but, after the most recent update, when I play my recordings, I can't hear them without earbuds. I used to be able to just hit 'play' and the recording would be audible loudly from my iPhone speakers so that others can hear. Bummer!

Perfect Audio Memos with Edit Capability. There are many audio programs in the marketplace but few offer such ease of editing, default name construction, and search facilities as this program does.

Crashes the phone !. I've never seen this happen before! At the end of playback The app crashes the phone. This is different from just the app crashing, it crashes the whole phone! This was my go-to app for AudioMemos. I hate to find a new one, but this update renders the app completely unusable.

Sad. Not sure why, but the recordings are of very low volume. Even when speaking 2 inches away from the mic and playing my my car with the speakers all the way up I have a hard time hearing what was recorded.

Not sure. While I think the quality of the recording is great, I'm trying to get the memo from my phone to MAC so I can transfer to CD to give to a friend. Tried emailing it but got message memo was to big. HELP!

It's just ok. I would very much love to be able to organize my recordings into folders or such. other than that, this is a GREAT!! recording app.

Audio Memos. App works well with close up recording. 1. I have not tested it yet in a lecture hall. 2. E-mailed a test sample to my self. Poor quality could hardly hear it. 3. Can only send 15MB e-mail. There is no way you can send a one hour or more conference meeting or lecture to anyone. For $9.99 you would think it had better performance. I have IPad 1, with internal hardware microphone using Audio Memos v.4.02 If there is a later version I would like to have the update.

Medical dictation. Used the app extensively with FTP on the go pro. While the app seemed to work seemlessly somewhere in the handoff files did not make the trip. Have switched to Alon Dictaphone as I can send MP3 files within the app to my dictation service

Easy To Use. One of my favorite apps. Children love this app to create their own stories too!

It's good enough. This software is fine for quick memos. The interface is not intuitive and editing is cumbersome. Also for transportation of large files you have to pay up $$$$. Otherwise it is fine.

Screen Recorder. Can you even record your screen?

Worthless. Timed records don't work!. Wasted $10 on this app. Set it up to do a timed record this morning -- it didn't record!!! How useful is a recording app that doesn't record???? Checked settings - everything was correct. App was not closed. It just simply didn't record. 😡👎👎👎👎👎

Would get a 5 if... it wouldn't crash while using other programs. I would like the ability to trim the files. Also- the app keeps crashing, mid recording- so I lose a bunch of audio- Class room notes as a result.

Great app. Great sound quality. I tell my children stories every night and record them. When I am too tired to tell a story I replay stories I have recorded on this app from the past. The sound is great. We love this app!!!

App no longer working. The latest update was apparently auto pushed - icon changed and is stuck in installing update mode. Can't get to files - wifi import, iTunes sync - nada!! I purchased the pro level and am BLAZENLY UNHAPPY that you're update not only isn't working but may have caused loss of files. In this day and age REALLY?!? PLEASE FIX YOUR APP!!!

Review of Audio Memos app. Very easy to use. It allowed me to record an unusual bird song heard only during mating season.

Works Great!. I have used this app for conducting interviews for work and it does a better job than any other app I've tried. Very reliable.

Fine recording appp. I realI enjoy using this app. The recent ability to turn off the filtering helps, but mainly it is straight forward, and accessible with VoiceOver.

Need help. I installed this app because of all the great reviews. I can't get any sound to recored-- all that plays back is a static noise. What do I do? Is there a setting I need to change? I still have hope for this app. Please help!

Worth it. Pay the money. You can go cue to cue. You'll never use anything else.

Super app. I love this app. It is so ideal for recording my thots,ideas,meetings etc. I can record things to do and mail to my office assistant. I have recorded a 3 hour meeting on it and the playback is cool. Will definitely recommend it to others

Great!. Really like this app. Very easy to use and to send files. I do need to learn how to edit the recordings but I'm sure it can be done.

It's the best application I've tried. And Ive tried many recording aps... I primarily use it for recording piano songs and emailing them to friends and it's also a great tool and aid for rehersals and playbacks.

Great recorder. Love it. Use it often and the sound quality is great.
