Scam. This app is a total scam, you can download the Wiz Connected app for free but this is sponsored which makes it appear to be the correct app. It’s mis-leading and should be taken down. It’s riddled with ads and wants you to pay to change colors of lights.

App is nothing but a commercial. This app is nothing but a commercial when you’ve already paid for the lights. Not worth it

Think twice before ordering. This app comes across as predatory. The lights are expensive as it and they only let you use the app if you pay for it (weekly rates are 4.99 which seems crazy considering all I can do with this is turn my lights on and I already have a home device to do just that). After I’d paid, I tried to use the app to pair my device but it doesn’t seem to be able to find them. They have a video which isn’t helpful at all because the app doesn’t seem to work the same way anymore (in the video, it asks me to add a device and it shows a list of devices. In reality, it just throw an error notifying me that no device seems were detected). I’m confused and lost and really wishing I’d saved the money and just purchased a regular “dumb” bulb.

This app is garbage. Do not buy the lightbulbs!!!. I bought these bulbs almost a year ago and could not use them to connect to my college’s internet. I was excited to try them out at home, but the app will not work unless you get a subscription to the app. You would think this would be somewhere on the box they are sold in. Terrible product. DO NOT BUY!!!

Completely useless!. This apps shoves ads in your face constantly while hiding the functions you need. In order to use one of their light bulbs you need additional hardware. I will NEVER buy another HUE device again IN MY LIFE…!

Complete garbage. Never get Phillips lights. I work supporting computers, networks and international cloud systems. I started doing computer support professionally in the mid 90’s. Even with all that experience, I could not get a single light paired with spending extra money on really expensive subscriptions after 30 minutes of trying. This application feels infected with adware viruses. I’ll be returning the worthless bulb and deleting this horrible app.

shouldn’t have to pay for premium when i already bought the light. why would i buy premium when i already brought the light that’s way to much and to use the app at ALL you have to have premium which is dumb and greedy. 1 star terrible app

DON’T BUY. Total bait and switch when you buy a Phillips light bulb connected to this app. WIZ wants $20 to make the app work to where it will add a device and change the color of the light. DON’T buy!!!

Don’t use this app!!!. Terrible! I don’t even think this app is required to work the Philips Full Color WI-FI LED bulbs. I think it is a Sam app posing to look like another and then tricks you into buying a weekly, monthly or lifetime package. I want my $20 back!

Useless. Couldn’t even connect my lightbulb. The app pops up video adds constantly while trying to set up bulb. The yearly subscription pops up non stop if you try the free version, which doesn’t do anything. I threw my lightbulb away. Useless

Modern Convenience. The best home convenience having these lights in my household. Use it on occasional party or everyday use. I don’t have to leave my bed to turn it off or on. Colorful hue of lights adorn any occasion. I would recommend these in every home.

Needs work. Has some good functionality but stops working as soon as you tab over to another app. Please fix this developers!

Garbage app. I cannot even set up without ads getting in the way. At least wait until I’m set up. Set up is garbage also. Not user friendly

Beware Scam. This app is a scam it charged me $21 & then another $76 and it doesn’t work, this is a waste of time and getting over on people! I’ll be reporting this along with y’all stealing a unauthorized payment out of my account!!!!!

Dont get this app. In fact if you are reading this and downloading the app to use the bulbs, do yourself a huge favor and just return them and get your money back. In order to use your bulbs and have the privelege to be able to actually use the color changing feature on them , you have to be willing to fork over a WEEKLY or MONTHLY subscription. Or you can pay the once lifetime fee which was like 20 or 30 bucks if i remember correctly. All to be able to have the privelege of using your light bulbs that you ALREADY PAID for. That is wild. On top of the app being riddled with ads and not seeming to work very well in the first place. Do yourselves a favor and just get a refund honestly. There are plenty of other color changing lightbulbs out there that dont have you have to pay for the privelege of using them on top of what you spent to get them.

Was not what was advertised. Sadly thought it was the WiZ app, it showed in its advertisement as WiZ on my App Store. Paid $20 membership only to find out it wasn’t compatible with my lights and now I’m trying to get my money back.

App is Trash. Be warned that this app requires a payment to use…I didn’t want to pay a subscription fee for lightbulbs I assumed I’d be using for years to come, so I opted for the one-time $20 payment… Wish Id known that the app is not really functional before I did that. Bulbs do not stay connected, and getting them to reconnect is hit or miss. Also, even without the connectivity issues and the surprise payments, the app itself is not intuitive or simple to use. Phillips has effectively ensured that they will never get my business ever again.

Horrible. So many adds and then they prompt you to purchase a plan and then it gets more confusing. Ended up returning the product

Hue lights. Hue won’t work on my new iPhone. I’m a paralyzed veteran in a wheelchair, and can’t stand up.

Crap. This app is horrible, if I could give it negative stars I would. And will be returning the Philips light and going on a search for the Feit lights, they were so easy to set up and don’t want you to subscribe to use all the features.

Garbage. App is garbage I won’t be buying any more related products and returning the ones I have. A bunch of bloatware which takes you on a wild goose chase and asks you to join all of the crapware ad supporting products! Companies should be ashamed of this type of marketing. I just wanted to connect a smart bulb and thought I try this one cause Feit wasn’t working in a remote part of my home, never again Philips, never again. I’ll walk the 10 miles back to the store just to return this garbage.

Confusing and misleading. This app tries to upsell you content and makes it hard to just connect your light. Poor experience. Bait and switch.

Garbage. Hot, stinky garbage.. The developers of this app should be in prison. The product team who oversees it should be on trial in The Hague. I bought some Phillips lights for my kid to have some accent lighting in her room but I’d honestly feel safer having her light an open fire in the middle of the floor. There are so many ads inside this app it feels like it got hacked by a Polish gambling website. I hope all of the parents of the people who made this app get divorced.

Rough start. Each time I entered PW it just took me back to the beginning “start with your light on for 5 sec…etc”

Beware. After downloading this app (mistakenly thinking it was the WIZ Philips-sanctioned app) I entered two different credit card numbers as prompted (both of which generated an error message which was suspicious as I used both of them regularly without issue). Shortly thereafter, I had to cancel and replace both credit cards for fraudulent use. Just a coincidence?

If Only It Connected Without Troubleshooting Every Time. Would love to love this product more. I’ve had it set up for over a week now, using it everyday, and 80% of the time it isn’t working right away… I’ll spend 5-10 minutes toggling lights and app to work. Once it’s on it’s great; but it is a VERY high-maintenance, expensive relationship… super finicky.

Philips & Wiz Lighting Scam. I bought Philips smart Wi-Fi light. it asked me to search for free app Wiz Lighting. During installation it forced me to make a payment. I bought lifetime access for $20. However, it was not able to find my light and redirected me to install Wiz app. I was able to find the light in Wiz App however I wasted money on Smart Light app.

Non-Functional. This app does nothing but show you a video on how to add lights that you have already added. I had high hopes, but for $20 all I get to do is watch the same video on an endless loop.

Works MAYBE half the time. Wish I could have seen the reviews for this app before buying over 100 dollars in lights. It worked when I initially set up my lights. Now? I can’t even get them to pair at all. Good job Phillips hue or whatever you can’t make basic software. Pat yourself on the back.

Scam. Apple should do their jobs and ban this developer immediately. The in app advertising pops up and asks for your credit card in order to verify you but promises not to charge. After that they go on a spending spree! Where is apple on this issue??

Awful. Wants to charge you for everything after I’ve already spent $60 on the bulb. Plus the design and interface of the app is atrocious

Scam. This app is a fraud, it’s named and presented to be deceiving. It’s charges you after saying validation is completely free. It’s should not even be on the App Store. Hey apple , I thought you checked these apps out, go read the app reviews!!!!

Terrible. If I could give less then one star I would, no matter what was done I could not sync the lights and it made me pay. But there is no option to refund even though it wouldn’t sync. Terrible terrible experience.

Stay away. Unbelievable that the box for these lights make no mention of the fact that you have to buy a subscription to their app in order to actually use any of the features that come standard with smart light bulbs. Complete scam, steer clear and go with a different option these aren’t worth it

Scam-a-Scama-Scam. Like the many other people on here. Bought the Wiz bulbs and with them it said to download this app to use the bulbs. Could not use the bulbs until you reach into your wallet and spend the money. Once you have unlocked the app then you will not be able to set up/ or use your wiz bulbs. No matter how many times you try. Apple should have this company refund everyone’s money and pull the app from the store.

Utter garbage. I have the hue system and bought another Phillips bulb that turns out to be on a different system. The app does not align with the directions to begin using the bulb. The non-stop adds are also prohibiting. I am not paying a monthly charge to use a light bulb. Bulb is being returned and app deleted. Disgusting!!!

Horrible Scam & Ad-Crazy App. Spending 25 minutes just to download, install and navigate the app, let alone the sheer hassle, is NOT WORTH IT. I’m a tech-savvy guy, but this app makes no sense. I’ve never seen so many ad pop-ups and misleading click-bait for what should be simple. Plus, you can’t navigate around it wanting you to pay. Absolutely not! The expensive bulb is going right back to the store, and this app is going to die its tech death with delete.

The Bulbs do things. These bulbs change color and dim and they turn on and off. I like all of the features.

Cyberpunk. i speak of course of the game that is about unfathomable corporate greed. Sign in with your email and pay your monthly fee to turn the light on. Advertising at any given moment. If you are lucky the light that you need to control may work with a different ap called "wiz"

Nearly impossible to set up without purchase.. Now that I have found out that the set I purchased is incomplete I cannot reach customer service to cancel the membership that I should not have had to purchase prior to set up. It’s too difficult to sync

Scam - trying to upsell everytime. You pay a high price for them to just get you to use an app that promotes other apps and services. Unless you pay their fee, you will continue getting ads. Otherwise you cannot use all the features the bulb can offer. Just buy a regular bulb

Difficult to install and limited support. Application mean actually be very good. I would never know because I’ve been unable to get it to connect. I have followed the directions, and also attempted to get support through the chat feature within the application. Alas, that was to no avail. My suggestion is buy a different product!

Useless without having to pay a subscription.. After buying the bulb you would figure the app would work for free or at least have to pay less than 5$ to use it permanently but instead they rather be greedy charging weekly or 20$ to have it permanently with an app that doesn’t even work that well.

Tried to charge me!. This is not the free Philips app. It kept trying to charge me, I kept clicking to just give me the free version. Then it wanted my credit card # to verify the account and said “$0 will be charged”, but yes then it charged my card!!! Thankfully my bank caught it as fraud and rejected the charge. Beware!

THIS IS NOT THE WIZ APP YOU WANT. This is not the app you want to connect your Phillips/Wiz bulb. The actual Wiz app is literally just called ‘Wiz’. It’s free and there is no premium membership you have to buy to connect your lights.

scam. they say there’s “limited features” for a free subscription but you can literally just look at the app and get bombarded with ads. you can’t even pair a singular light without forking over a ridiculous amount of money. such a scam. now i have to waste more time to get a refund on a useless overpriced lightbulb

Absolutely a rip off. After spending a lot of money on expensive Phillips lights I find out I have to pay for the app to set them up. Buy any kit her manufacturers lights. All their apps are FREE!
