Watch Faces - BetterWatch App Reviews

Nice design, poor complication functionality. This app needs some work. When you set up a face for the watch and touch a complication it puts up a message on you watch to “open BetterWatch on your iPhone and add favorite to…” with a an “ok” prompt. I have a series 7 watch and neither changing the face to a favorite and nor does touching the “ok” prompt work. The battery complication always shows 50% or “- -“ regardless of the actual battery life. Feels like a waste of money to me. Your paying for a look not functionality so if all you want is something simple this app is for you but if you need function I would save your money and look at other options.

Went from really excited to really bummed. Admittedly I should’ve researched this app more thoroughly, but here I am, having already paid the fee, and have had no success so far in being able to use any of the faces. I follow the steps, tap “add this watch face”, tap on the watch icon, then nada. I have selected my accurate watch version, which is series 7. My watchOS is up-to-date. I’d love for someone to either help me successfully use this app please or refund my money, as I have not been able to use anything as advertised. I downloaded this app today, Dec 13th, and it looks like the last app version update was 2 days ago. I don’t know if any others are in the works, but if I end up being able to successfully use this app, I’ll happily change my rating and update my review.

App tests your patience, until it actually works. Getting the app to work is a bit of a hassle. You need to have both the apps on your phone and watch for it work, and it takes a long time for Apple Watch app to to install. I couldn’t even see the app on my watch for a little while. I tried a few of the faces but only could see the time, before to Apple Watch app finally installed itself. I originally saw no complications, no animations, just the time. Only the photo watch faces worked. I follow the instructions, uninstall and reinstall the app, have it set to my watch size. And after a little while the faces finally started to work properly. The app will give me more variety for faces. I fixed the issues I had myself the same day I got the app.

Somewhat Disappointed. I did the lifetime purchase after looking through the watch face options. With all due respect the watch faces are beautiful, creative and very colorful. These are the things that I like in a watch face even though I love the live watch faces the most. However, the reason I only gave it 3 stars is because none of the Top Rated or Modular Duo faces work correctly with my watch. I have rebooted my watch and it is updated with iOS 18 (latest update). The watch is barely 5 months old and it is an Apple Series 9. This should not prevent the faces from acting correctly. I have followed all the suggestions offered through Better Watch. I would love to be able to enjoy what I paid for but unfortunately I can't, therefore I rated this app with 3 stars. I am using other apps where I don't have a problem with the watch faces working but the faces aren't as expressive or as colorful as Better Watches.

I LOVE IT. Hey, I just love this app. It has so many cute and weird watch faces. I do have one small suggestion though. Maybe you could add a thing to maybe search for a certain type of face that you want, instead of having to search through the entire collection to find a type you want. Faces “aren’t compatible”. This is really upsetting for the fact that 90% of the faces I want don’t even work for my watch! When you first download the app it asks what watch you have! I have an SE! Everything is up to date! I troubleshooted everything they said and I still can’t download the faces that I want! I get the same error! The faces I want is not compatible with my watch! Why add the SE watch to the select option if they aren’t making the faces compatible with every watch they allow it to connect to??? Overall I’m disappointed with the app because I can’t get the faces I want, but they do have some pretty cool faces!

If you want function, this app is garbage. If all you really want is a gallery of pictures to put on your watch then I guess it’s ok. If you’re wanting functional tiles on your watch face, this app is garbage. I prefer the functional “modular” style face where I can get the info important to me at a glance. This app appeared to have several modular options that would still give me the information I wanted but with new design. That was not the case. Once the watch face has been turned on, you can’t click on anything to give additional information. For instance the weather tile can’t be clicked to give more detailed info or take you too the weather app. I’ve found several faces that don’t even work. Definitely not worth the money.

Save Your Money!. This app’s drains so much battery that my Series 7 watch can’t even make it through the day. It’s usually at 10-15% around 4pm without any workouts. In addition, all of the different watch faces from this app are unsynchronized. Meaning, the data (I.e. steps, weather, heart rate, etc) is not synced on each of the faces as I switch between them. Moreover, the faces take more than an hour to load each morning; until it’s loaded the watch face has a black screen. Lastly, their faces are not configurable. To some extent, you can switch the data point that BetterWatch support but nothing else. I just hope Apple makes similar watch faces in the next update so I don’t have to really on third party apps like this and waste my money.

False advertisement. 2nd update….The developer of the app apparently are ignorant and do not know how to read. I stated in my update I did what they said and they AGAIN told me the same thing. Update edit….the developer responded to my review about me needing to make sure I had updated the app, chosen the apple version, updated my phone ect. I did all that and for you to ignore my e-mails to support is condescending. I STILL want a refund. Now answer that part of the review. I downloaded the app looking for a Snoopy face. They had 3 or 4 but only if you paid the upgrade price. So I did. Then it needed to know what series watch I had and I didn’t know. A few days later I was getting ready for work and wanted to update my watch face. I wen back into the app and put in which series I had and NO Snoopy anywhere!! I have reached out to the app creators and was told to update the app. I had updated two times after reaching out to the creators. I responded and told them so. I updated again today and still NO Snoopy!

Pretty good selection. This app has a decent selection of watch faces. They are easy to install and function properly. A nice change to the limited faces available with the Apple Watch. My main complaint is that you can’t change or rearrange the complications. What you see is what you get. Also, if you tap on a complication it only brings up the weather, steps and distance….no matter what you tap on. If you’re just looking for something a little different or pretty- it’s great. If you want functionality it is very limited.

There is no functionality. Only pictures. I wish I would have read the reviews with one or 2 stars before spending $8 on this. There is no functionality, only pictures. No matter if you move during the day, it always shows the goal to be 100. The battery level always at 100 even if there is 18% left. The steps count are not accurate either. The programmer states that if you have a problem, you should write support. Well, I did and no response. Don’t waste your money on this. Nothing works as you would expect by looking at the pictures. Well, they are only that: pictures to put on your watch

Needs Updated Faces. I used to love this app, but it is almost April and I am still seeing mostly Christmas/Winter faces even in the New and Trending categories!! Yes, the app has updated SEVERAL times, usually updates every couple of weeks and still nothing! If I’m not mistaken I think I have actually sent an email requesting new faces as well! I have two watch face apps, this one and another so forgive me if I’m thinking of the other, but I’m almost positive I requested new faces with both watch face apps. UPDATE: the creator was very quick to reach out and respond to help fix the issue! So I am changing my rating as I wasn’t expecting them to be so supportive and helpful! Thank you for reaching out!

Meh. I bought this app thinking there would be more than just watch faces with photos. I was surprised there were only a few you can add more complications to on the watch face. The pictures are great but would like to see more with ones you can see activity, weather etc… Update-received developer response which did not address my review at all. Of course I have followed all steps…the issue was not getting the watch faces to work…it was being duped into purchasing something you thought would be totally different. The watch faces are not available for all watches and this is not made known when purchasing the app. So when you think you will be getting really fun watch faces…you’re not. Save your money..disappointed.

Cute but only as a watch. Response to developer: The app works, but the faces are mostly for keeping time - most faces do not have complications as a part of them. Original review: Some cute watch faces, but I wouldn’t use most of them. Also, the faces are only to tell time, and the 2 or 3 faces that do have complications/widgets, the widgets don’t work correctly. I bought this app specifically for one cute planning face, but it’s too small to read on the watch and when you tap on the widget, it doesn’t take you to the app on your watch. I tried to change the complications in the watch app, and then the whole planning face disappeared. Like someone else said, it was fun for five minutes, but I wish I hadn’t bought it.

Honest Review. I saw alot of high ratings so I was like okay this is cool. I purchased the app which is for like $10. I rarely review also btw. The product is great alot of choices to choose from the designs are amazing. It took time to download to my watch. My only flaw that I see is that the application is now live updating, for example steps, you have to click the watch to go into the app before it will update the display. I wish as I step it updates each steps on the watch front display. If the developers see this pls have this update. Don't be just about the design and since you earn already you won't improve. I would also like to see more weather widget that actually display the temperature not just a icon, I still have to click the icon to see the temperature. What's the point of that? Thanks.

Disappointing, if not misleading. It’s a gimmick. The images you see in the App Store can be reproduced in the strictest sense. However, they require the manipulation of Apple Watch’s Complication and Widget features in such a way that the actual function of the watch is rendered useless. Example: the Christmas tree countdown that is popular now. It shows a Christmas tree made up of numbers with a Grinch in the upper left corner. It looks cool until you realize you have lost the ability to choose your Complications. You’re stuck with what they chose which are weather and workout related, neither of which interest me. Example: the animation showing Santa carrying his bag on the roof in front of the full moon. It is made of two photos which shift perspective one time each and then stop. So the sense of animation only lasts one literal second. It cannot be used at all with the Always On setting enabled. Perhaps more importantly, it can only show the date and time. For $10, the faces can get a laugh or two at a party, but is otherwise useless. I was over it about five minutes after I bought it. I wouldn’t buy it again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else.

Won’t work and can’t get any help. App has some reall kool faces but can’t get them to load up to Apple Watch. Have the latest updates on watch and phone, settings are correct in app, correct watch selected, and still nothing. I’ve emailed my concerns to the app people and did get a fast reply. They recommended everything I’ve already done. So I took some screenshots of what I was seeing when I try to download so they could see what I deal with. And since that email I haven’t heard a peep out of them. I don’t get it. But either way I need to get this figured out ASAP with your help or refund my $$$$$ back. Stand by your product. If u EVERY get back to me a figure out what’s going on I’ll be happy to change my review. Till then I’m not a very happy customer……………

Watch face returns to blank/black after just aFewHours. Updated update: reinstalled (2x) and it worked! I love it and the grandkids do too! Update: the app still does not work. I was contacted by the developer suggesting I install the update. I had installed the update before I posted the original review. I’m going to try reinstalling and may contact them after the holiday to request a refund. So sad because I really wanted this to work. I have been using the app for a couple of days. Every few hours, the watch drops the face. I can go back through all the steps and it works only for a few hours. I have tried the recommended settings adjustments with no success.

Don’t Buy. I saw a great ad for this on TikTok. I purchased & downloaded this super excited to use this for the holiday countdown watch face. Reads that it works with all Apple Watches. After paying your given a choice of which Apple Watch you’re currently using. I chose mine from the list shown. I was happy to see so many faces I could use for this $9.99 one time purchase. Every single face I tried, every single one, either said it “wasn’t compatible” with my Apple Watch or when it did allow me to download it there was no picture. Waste of time waste of money. I will not buy anything recommended on TikTok again. I suggest using your $10 on something you can actually use. If by some Christmas miracle that starts working, I’ll let you know.

Forced to pay multiple times for included family sharing option. Would avoid this app. Only purchased to allow family sharing since we have multiple watches. The purchase restore worked on the first family members device however that is about where it ends for the good. Attempting to add the the other device on the family account instead of restoring the purchase it pushed the user into a page that when they expected it to restore the purchase it changed them again. After requesting a refund for the charge that was made in error, the device was blocked from using the family purchase. Support takes weeks to respond with a less than helpful message. Ended up purchasing again for the user to access the app, so they could use the app. So basically had to pay double the price to use the app. Other notes loading faces only works maybe 30% of the time, so very hard to get a face that works, and the user likes.

Frustrated and confused. It’s been 3 weeks now and 2 updates later. I will say this, some of the watch faces that didn’t work before the upgrade do work now except the weather girl. I have since found out that the Weather Girl is for newer watch faces. How frustrating. Don’t under stand that. I have heard from the developers and it’s just run around instructions they gave hoping something would stick and make the watch face work. How is it on the top watch face category when it’s prove back many others that it doesn’t work. What I’m confused about is why the don’t take the watch face down and just redesign it and have a few subscribers try it before adding it back. There is no logic to this. You would think they would fix it to keep subscribers from putting negative reviews on this app to to get more subscribers. All they are doing is running the app to the ground. Do the not care? That’s the question that floors me. I’m starting to feel they don’t care and another things the have more watch face apps out there. I don’t get not allowing people to see the watch faces before they subscribe. It’s like this on all their apps!

Ok, but could be better. I just downloaded this app and found some really cute faces; however, the ones I tried that included complications…don’t work. I either get a blank screen or only an image or two. The fee is good for “lifetime” enjoyment, but I’d expect it to work better than it does. Complications are huge for the Apple Watch and not being able to use them with the cool faces offered in the app is a thumbs down for me. I guess I’ll use the stationary pic options on occasion and hope I can get better options down the road. Maybe I’ll get my money’s worth by then.

Animated watch faces. I’m a bit confused. I select the animated watch faces but it loads as a photo. Am I doing something wrong? I have a series 7 RUN!!!!! ….. I finally received a response months after posting the fact that the animation faces were only photos. I was told precisely what the developers have told everyone for months “make sure always on is off” That’s the same instruction/advice you get during initial set up!NEWS FLASH WE ALL TRIED THAT!!!I Guess I’ll have to take the $ loss and accept being fooled like everyone else who fell for false advertisement. App Store needs to weed out these kind of apps. Oh and developer, please respect yourself enough not to respond with your standard “Sorry you’re unhappy with our app”response …. Or at all for that matter…. Thanks

EXTREME POWER DRAIN!!!!!!’n. First of all, I saw this on the Gram & as fun as the Halloween faces are, they do not appear anywhere near the same appearance on my watch like they were shown on the Gram, not so 3D, and if you want animation, you have to tap the watch face & the animation lasts only seconds. Second, OMG WHAT THE HECK!!!!! My Apple Watch 6 was on fumes by noon. My Apple iPhone 14 Pro wasn’t far behind the watch! That was Friday. Yesterday I deleted the app from my phone. I removed the Halloween watch face from my watch & put my regular Apple face in place and my watch was still power draining!!!! I had a mere 7% battery power left at 1:15pm!!!!! I saw a few complaints on the power issue but in followup notes by the developer, it was supposedly solved? Anything new on this front?

It shouldn’t be this difficult. It really shouldn’t be this difficult to install a watch face. It appears that every single watch face that they have that looks kind of cool is nearly impossible to install. I paid for the lifetime subscription, and really regret it because I’m getting a lifetime of nothing. Every time I try to install a watch face, all it does is install the time numbers and nothing else. Sometimes it won’t install anything at all. The ones that do install do so without the design that you see in the sample. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to make it look like the sample. In fact, 90% of the artwork doesn’t even appear. I get the time, I get a bunch of options for widgets, but the artwork isn’t there. What a big waste of money.. Devs, it should be this easy; pick a design and click install. That’s it. Don’t make the user jump through hoops to use your product! I asked several people, who were sitting with me, to try and install one of your watch faces the way they look on the sample page. Not one of them could do it. Each time a watch face was installed, it didn’t look anything like what the sample looked like. It always ended up looking like a blank face with a digital reading of the time. It’s a shame that Apple makes it nearly impossible to get a refund. Because this was a big waste of money.

Cute faces but needs work. I absolutely loved all the watch faces to choose from, and I got my watch all set up with one quickly. I was happy with it… at first. It wasn’t long before I realised that it was causing my battery to drain incredibly fast. My watch can’t even last one day while using one of these faces. I have also noticed now that the face doesn’t update unless I click something on the screen and then go back. For example, today it is 6/17 but my watch face showed 6/16 all day until just now, at 6:39pm, when I clicked on the screen to go to a different page and then went back. It also does this with my steps taken/calories burned and any other activity information… doesn’t update until I manually refresh the face but clicking something like the battery percentage, or your steps counter… something on the watch face. I’ve used my watch today to answer calls and messages but that doesn’t refresh it. It has to be an interaction with the watch face itself. So as much as I love the look of it, it’s just not working for me anymore as it’s inconvenient. If they fix these issues then I’d gladly come back, but at this point I’m bummed I spent money on the app.

VERY DISAPPOINTED! I’ve seen better!. Extremely disappointed! I this app to add some cute new faces that aren’t available anywhere else; and specifically for the watch face of a girl in the wind and rain with an umbrella which is not even there now. Also, I had an Apple 4 watch at the time only to discover that the faces I want don’t work on the 4. This should be stated in the description of the app. I have since purchased an SE watch (it needed replaced for other reasons) and that’s supposed to work. However, I still can’t find the little girl. Also, most of the watch faces can’t have complications on the face. At the very least I want the date and battery displayed. Another problem is the time is sometimes obscured by the character on the face or the time is in a white font and hard to distinguish from the character. Is that a “0” or the top of an “8”, etc? Even the standard Apple faces gallery is better, although somewhat boring.

Absolutely terrible!. The app isn’t working, the watch faces aren’t working, especially the ones advertised on Facebook and Instagram. I’ve tried to talk to their support and they give me the same run around. I have done all of the things they have told me to do and still nothing! I’ve even got pictures as proof. I paid for the premium faces and I can’t see anything. I’ve even uninstalled and redownloaded the app twice, still nothing. I also downloaded it on my iPad to make sure it wasn’t my phone, same thing. Everything is up to date, everything has been restarted, everything is toggled in the right direction as they suggest and nothing. Really disappointed. I want my money back or fix the app.

For a 9$ app - this should be better. The high contrast watch faces with white in them never load. (Before you come at with me about troubleshooting - I did your steps twice and I’m an Apple Engineer) The ones that DO work are EXTREMELY hard to read on high res watch faces like the Ultra 2. They’re so tiny and with no compatibility for accessibility options (which is kinda wrong on so many levels) - you can’t even adjust them to make them readable. I wish I’d read the reviews first before buying this right from instagram. I see this has been a complaint for almost a year from people. End result - meh?

Watch faces. They have very intricate and detailed designs for everyone. If you love marvel they have that, if you like shiny object they have a face for that, he’ll if you like name brands they have faces for that. I am very impressed and thankful that they have moving watch faces. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone with an Apple Watch. I would even say that they went above and beyond to making this app. 5 out of 5 stars in my personal opinion.

Doesn’t work at all. This is getting old real fast. Taking my review to a one because zero is not an option. I want a refund. You keep saying contact support and I’ve done that 3 times. Zero response. Your app does not work. It is a scam. Apple needs to do better. Do not pay for this app whatever they say. I’ve followed allllllll the steps several times and it does not a single thing. *EDITED TO ADD** I restarted both watch and phone and I do have the correct series in my app and it’s still not working. I write to support and get zero response. I paid and I’m not getting a single watch face to work. I wish I read the reviews and now I can’t seem to get in touch with anyone to receive a refund. For the price it costs and I can’t use a single face. I go through all the steps. Have the correct watch selected yet when I click add this watch and then the watch app icon it does nothing.

Blackout purchase. I was drawn to this app by the many reviews left, as well as the amount of watch faces available. And interestingly enough, this is the first app I’ve actually decided to make an in app purchase on, but after I made my purchase, I am unable to login to pick any watch faces. Every time I hit the app, it just shows up as a black screen. I even tried removing the app off my phone and re-downloading it and came across the same issue. I know there’s things such as bugs and stuff with these apps, so hopefully this review reaches you in time to where you can fix it and I can make use of my purchase. Thank you.

Great if you don’t want complications.. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong if I am not getting something, but it does not seem to work well. For the static faces of pictures, 10/10. The problem seems to be the ones with complications. If I set it to show my steps, it doesn’t refresh. I don’t know why. I look at my steps in the fitness app and it is not reflected on the watch face… and then… several hours later… it is… I don’t get it. Also if you use the watch to control music, you will be used to the “now playing” to pop up. It doesn’t. You have to open it from recent apps… and then for some reason… it will close… again, I don’t know why. Since I use my watch mostly for music and exercise, it is a deal breaker for me. If you want high quality meme watch faces and other cool looking faces without the complications, then go for it. After a few days for me, I’m back to the Apple branded ones. If I’m doing something wrong, I will adjust my rating.

Faces are Cute and Most Work. The faces are all pretty cute and there seems to be something for everyone. However several of the more complex ones don’t work correctly. My favorite is the one with the weather girls that changes pics every so often. Or it is supposed to. Sometimes it changes and sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes the date is correct and sometimes it’s not. The complications on it are not always correct either. Some of the other faces will just go black every so often. It’s a cool app when it works.

Watch face I wanted won’t work. I downloaded this app and paid for it after being advertised to on facebook. It was a colorful face with childlike drawings on it where the step count, calories, heart rate etc go. But it doesn’t work! What a waste of money as I literally downloaded it and paid for this one watch face that I loved the look of in the advert. ETA: I downloaded this today, on a full Watch battery. Within a few hours my Watch was down to 6% when it normally lasts me over 24 hrs -_-. I charged it up again fully to make sure, but an hour or so late it was back down to 60~% battery. NOT impressed. Not sustainable to have a watch that dies within a few hours. Removed all Watch faces and gonna delete app. Annoyed I paid for this.

Extreme variety makes it fun!. I love the BetterWatch app! There was one of their compilations that was not working. All of them have always worked, so I asked for help. They answered back right away, and gave me lots of options, but ultimately when they updated their app is when that one particular watch face started working. I love the movement in so many of them, and that I can do different holidays and seasons. if you like that kind of stuff, then you need this app for your Apple Watch!

Great watch faces, not exactly smooth implementation…. There are some great and fun watch faces available with this app, however the process to upload them to your watch could be much better. If you get the app, be patient and if there are faces that do not load immediately, give it a day or two and try again, it takes a bit of time for everything to sync I believe and enable every option to load. However, it is worth it in the end, because the watch faces will eventually load and they just might brighten your day!

Better Watch Face. I purchased this app a few weeks ago. They have really great faces to choose from. The problem I am having is the information will not stay current. The date won’t change to the next day. The exercise information does not stay current and the weather information if for New York. I live in California. I end up turning my watch off to reset the information. I sent an email to the company. They did email me back the let me know they received my email. They also suggested that I go to the FAQ’s section, which I could not find. I have not heard back since. Matthew

Best watch faces. I really like the colors on these Watch Faces and the designs. There is something there for everyone. The information that it shows is very timely and everybody can pick what they want. The good thing about these Watch Faces is you can change them anytime you want and it only takes a few seconds, and adds a lot of style to looking at your watch to see what time it is. now you can track your health data and anything that you want to on these Watch Faces. They have several things on them very creative. Good job.

Love this app!. I never pay for apps, but I’ve been tired of circulating through the same old tired Apple Watch faces and stumbled upon this one. It’s the best purchase I’ve made! I love all of the varieties of watch faces, I love how cute they are and how well designed they are. I’ve had no issues with them loading to my watch, and I continue to change my watch face every few days because it’s so fun! Highly recommend this app!

Disappointing Experience - Needs Improvement. I was excited to try BetterWatch, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. While the app claims to offer a variety of watch faces for Apple Watch, the selection is extremely limited and feels outdated. Many of the designs are uninspired and repetitive, with very little customization available. The interface is also clunky and not user-friendly. It’s difficult to navigate, and I experienced frequent crashes when trying to apply a watch face. For a paid app (or even with in-app purchases), I expected much more polish. To make matters worse, many of the faces require additional purchases, which is frustrating after already downloading the app. If you’re looking for quality and variety, BetterWatch just doesn’t deliver. There are better options out there that offer more value for your time and money. I really hope the developers work on adding more features and fixing the bugs because, as it stands, this app is not worth it.

Not all faces work. The static faces or faces with an animation work fine. The ones with meaningless complications work fine. But any face with useful complications, like activity rings or extended weather, either dont update at all or at a pace too slow to be useful. They say in their FAQ that Apple only updates widgets every 15 minutes, so this isn’t the developers fault. But it does result in useless faces that I have to replace with the built in faces from Apple. If you want an Xmas countdown calendar or a fun face for Halloween, this is great for that. If you use your watch to quickly check dynamic information, skip these.

None of these work on my series 7. A few of them that are more like photos work on my watch. I could have done that for free. I love some of these faces but they come over as totally black on my watch face. I’ve got all the settings correct. Tried some troubleshooting and nothing. Waste of money because I purchased the full subscription thinking there would be so many to choose from. I emailed the company multiple times to find out why these aren’t working for me and I never heard back. If they would have taken the time to help me troubleshoot then I wouldn’t have given 1 star but I feel like I purchased something that doesn’t work or isn’t compatible with my watch.

Great watch faces. I’m really glad I got this app. I love the different faces. I almost didn’t get the app because of the bad reviews. When I first downloaded the app there were some faces that wouldn’t work or download to my watch. There were others that simply said it wasn’t available for my watch series. However, I closed all the apps running on my phone and restarted my phone. Now all of the watch faces will work! I even have an older watch, it’s a series 5. Oh, and it is really important that you select the correct watch series for your watch in the app settings.

Good but needs work. I like some of the custom faces but functionality need work. You can’t click on the widgets on the face to open them. Like if you want the details for the weather, clicking on the icon on the face won’t open it, or any of the other icons. If you click any of them it just brings up a page on the watch saying open the app on your phone to make it a favorite. (Whatever that means) and the phone app doesn’t let you click the little heart button to “favorite” the watch face. So it’s cool that it opens up new designs for your watch. But the lack of functionality to make doesn’t make it worth the $7 you have to pay to even try one of the faces. I feel they should let you test out at least one face before being changed.

Complications don’t load. Poor customer service.. Update: The developer’s response is exactly the same as their email response, which I had already stated that I have completed the actions and verified steps. After sending yet another email to the dev team, again… No Response. Original Message: I downloaded a couple of watch faces that did work properly, but a couple of others didn’t. The complications didn’t load and the watch face was blank except for the time. I had a brief exchange with customer support about the issue and confirmed the actions/steps that they recommended. After no resolution and trying to communicate with the developer further, I have not received any further communications except for the initial one. I feel like I’ve been ghosted by the developer with no resolution. I would not recommend this product unless they fix these issues.

Cool. It’s not perfect but I’m currently downloading an update but I’m so glad there are some free faces and there is a one time purchase for the rest. I hate subscriptions there’s too many apps that want them so I will probably buy that one of these days. I tried one face that has some data that’s part of it and it didn’t work but I think maybe I needed to set it up idk it’s a modular one so it had the time but the rest came out blank but I will try it again sometime see if I can get it but so far the free ones I got worked I haven’t messed them much, I just like how they look.

I like the wallpaper, but my animated faces do not work. I like the wallpaper, but my instructions tell me if I have an SE I need to turn something off in settings, but what they’re telling me I don’t have in my settings, so I can’t get my animated wallpaper to work when I lift my watch. I have to tap the screen, and it works for several seconds and stops. bit disappointed by that. Update… Seems it’s an apple restriction, they limit the time. Wish I’d known that before I purchased this app. 😞

BetterWatch… love you guys!. So I gave you a four star because there is always room for improvement in everything that we do. I hardly ever pay for apps because I just think I’m not a big consumer. I try to be thrifty. Your holiday themed watch faces that were animated gave me a thrill. I decided to change the Christmas themed ones since it has passed and there are so so many cool and fun and funny and lovely options. I’m having fun, saving my favorites, hoping that this way they won’t go away if you retire a watch face and it’s in our favorites.

Pestering for a review. Update: Answer to developer. I have selected my watch series, my phone and watch are up to date. I have deleted your app and downloaded it again, turned off my watch and my phone after waiting the suggested 10 minutes to download the new face. I have deleted the inoperable watch face and downloaded again and again. It isn’t all the faces, just the ones that look great on your IG and FB ads. Just the ones I want! There are far too many people complaining about the same thing. You have a problem and you know it. I will not be wasting my time with your support team. Terrible. The Christmas spirit got me and I was excited to get this app. Unfortunately once you pay the one time fee…..nothing works again. My phone keeps crashing and my watch is stuck on one watch face and I can’t change it! Customer service is useless!

Support desk have not resolved or responded adequately Update I have received the developer response following this review which is the same instructions previously received about being on latest versions and rebooting both devices. It take approximately 5 minutes for the app to load then all the watch faces have a loading face… I have waited 20+ minutes to see it time would fix the issue. No! False Advertising. There is absolutely nothing mentioned about having to pay to use this app until you download. Unless you want a watch face that you’ve already got with the latest iOS update, then really don’t bother with this one. Update: developer wanted me to restart everything, which I did anyway prior to leaving the review. Surprise surprise that there is still no mention of having to pay until you try and download any watch face.

Not all faces work on series 9. Disappointed that I payed for this app particularly for one specific face but it doesn’t work on series 9 only on Ultra. All the other ones I like don’t work either. I wasted my money on this app. And if didn’t pay for it I would delete it.

Terrible. When I first purchased this app, things worked fine, but recently any watch face that I try to add to my watch collection will not display properly in the watch app and nor on the watch itself. I have tried every troubleshooting suggestion by better watch app, including uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing has resolved the issue. Absolute rubbish! **edit** both before and after I have uninstalled, reinstalled and reset both watch and phone several times. And every single time it says ‘downloading’ and then goes to a blank screen. Sometimes it will show just half of the watch face on my watch, but most of the time it shows nothing whatsoever. And this is with several watch faces. Do not buy this app as it is nothing but trouble!

Misleading app. This app has a great range of watch faces, however the app doesn’t provide information on prices or payments. I have been choosing faces not knowing that my Apple Pay is being charged, no purchase portal in the app, I had no idea I was buying from this app at all until my statement, not good very misleading, I have deleted this app.

Compatible with Apple Watch. I have tried to get faces for my Apple Watch in the App Store but most don’t have practical every day faces. I found this one and decided that the cost was minimal for the variety available. I now change faces every few weeks! Easy to use once you know how, and doesn’t seem to drain the battery either. Does not work with new Apple series 10. I tried to make the watch face animation work with my new Apple Watch and it won’t work. When I contacted BetterWatch, they sent me instructions, which I already knew. I contact him a few times and then he said we’re working on it. They know a new watch comes out every year. I don’t understand why they would not have an option for an Apple 10 watch. I would not recommend this app. There are other options out there.

Scam. Total scam. You can only install simple picture faces. The faces that have elements to them, like different modules, will prompt you over and over to install this app, which is already installed?? And then just show black screen forever. It doesn’t work and it’s not worth the $.

Waste of money. None of the watch faces are working except the free one I downloaded. I paid for the app to get the Christmas countdown face and it’s just a black screen with the time showing. I made sure all settings were correct and restarted my watch and phone and still nothing. Not happy at all

Disappearing faces. Some of my favorite faces disappear or don’t function properly after I’ve had them in use for a while. It’s very disappointing. I still love this app and you’re gonna get the five stars but what’s going on with those faces? I see you keep adding new ones and that’s all good or at least I see new ones every time I check for different faces. I like that.

WOW. Besides the fact that I had to pay for this app and only wanted it for the Grinchmas countdown, I’ve also noticed each complication reads the same thing so it’s hard to tell what you want without touching each one and there is no way to undo if you push the wrong thing. They have a lot of amazing faces, but a lot that will drain your watch battery too. I probably should have just kept my free Apple choices, lots of good ones on there and now with Snoopy too!!

Loads Quick & Options For Everyone. BetterWatch is a pretty cool app and the perfect companion to my Apple Watch. I love the way the faces are organized which lets me quickly scroll through the categories to find one that fits my mood. I wish they offered phone wallpaper too because the only miss for me is that I can’t match my watch to my home screen but certainly that’s just a nice to have.

App issues!!!. I downloaded the app and bought the $9.99 lifetime use. I looked at a couple faces then installed one on my watch. I love it and wanted to try more. Then the site froze and the screen went black. I swiped out and pressed the app and it opens up to a black screen. Then I uninstalled the app and reinstalled, opened it up and guess what, a black screen. What’s going on?

Love the faces. I love all the different faces one can choose from. I especially love the moving faces. My only critique is that I wish I could add more compilations to the faces. Many only allow 2 compilations. The date and one other choice. I like to also have the weather and messages on my watch face but I can only choose one of those. Maybe the watch face designers can change that??

Don’t expect great things. Weather girls don’t work.. The ones that influenced me to purchase the app don’t work at all. Many emails back and forth many statements that it will be corrected in the next update… no changes. If it worked I would be thrilled ~ until then … 1 star. OK, where the girls do work however, the black line through the screen is still there. The last issue I have is I have to restart my watch every day to remain current

Really loved the app. I really loved the app until this last update. Now, I can’t get into the app to change watch faces after having purchased the app awhile back. I’m not very happy that an app, that you have to spend money on, doesn’t work after certain updates. Please, make sure your updates don’t shut us out of the app, when we have to pay to have the app in the first place!

Frustrated. I like the different watch faces but before I installed it and had my old watch face, all I had to do was rotate the face upwards, and there was my control center. When I look for information on how to get to control center, it says to click the button once that doesn’t work I have to press it hard and then tell it to go to control center, I much preferred being able to just rotate the clock face upwards to get to control center. If you can tell me how to do that that would be great.

💕 snowman face hooked me in. I actually got this app because they had a snowman watch face that did more then just display time. It provides weather, date, time and ring data. I have loved the other designs as well and tech support was easy to use when I was having issues with getting the data to sync at first.

Another update. It would be nice if when I clicked on the notifications I get, that they would link to the watch face that I’m being notified about. It does not so by the time I look through all of the faces I forgot which one I was looking for. Otherwise everything else is peachy. UPDATE: With the recent update, everything appears to work now The pictures are very pretty but the complications still do not show up. Just a line of dashes are showing.

Cool and Easy Watch Faces. This was store easy to use with my Apple Watch series 9. There are a few free images available that are pretty cool. I decided to purchase the life time access. I love that it’s a one time payment and not a recurring charge. Totally worth it for all of the options available. Quality graphics. Simple to change and download new faces.

For the price it’s great!. It could be better, with more animations, but I don’t know of other apps that do this so I have nothing to compare it to. I do change my watch face and band often to match what I’m wearing or the season, and it gets noticed often. I like being able to change it. I will keep this and continue using it. I would even pay a little more if meant more animations because those are truly unique and fun!

Cute watch faces!. I downloaded the app because of the cute Christmas watch faces. At first the faces where black when I first attempted to download some. I thought it was the app, but is actually was an iOS issue. If you are having trouble, make sure your Apple Watch is updated to the latest version. Once, I did that, I had no problems and now have lots of cute faces to choose from!

Doesn’t work. I purchased this app for my Apple Watch. I have series 8. When you make the purchase you have to choose which series your watch is and they list series 8 which obviously makes you believe it will work with series 8. But after my purchase, when I tried to download it on my watch, a message pops up that says requires 9 OS or later. Nowhere does it tell you this before purchasing. I have emailed support asking for a refund, but you should not be able to purchase an app that isn’t supported. Especially since you are required to choose which version you have before your purchase!

Terrible and terrible customer service. Better Watch advertises as having a deep bench of faces but if you have an older series… you’re out of luck. They hide behind the fine print with their customer service, they’d rather take your money than have a satisfied customer. They could care less if you’re happy… and their products are subpar. I’d not recommend paying the money under any circumstances… and if you have nothing other than the newest Apple Watch… all those faces they advertise won’t work on yours. It’s a scam of scams… shame for this company. Terrible… zero stars if I could.

App does not work - No support. Lots of issues here. Downloaded the app because it has some faces I liked for my watch. Go to use the app and it’s an 8.97 subscription fee so I cancelled the transaction. Then the app offers it for 4.99 so I agreed and purchased. Can not load one single face to my watch. I contacted support and they told me to restart my phone and my watch. Did that and it still doesn’t work and now I can not get a response from customer support. On top of that, I have 2 charges on my account. They charged me the regular price (8.97) AND the discounted price (4.99). Would give 0 stars if possible. Avoid this app!!!

Good but could be better!. I was looking forward at using a widget that I saw on an ad, more specifically the grinch one with the countdown to Christmas and later found out that that watch face is only available for the latest Apple Watch that I don’t have they still have some really cute faces and it is worth the price, but I really was really disappointed when I couldn’t get the widget a really wanted cause I don’t want to buy the latest Apple Watch.

Beware -Cheap Estonian Made App. The app developers are guilty of blatant false advertising. The app doesn’t work. If you don’t wish to believe me, please scroll through the hundreds of other reviews of angry and disappointed Apple Watch owners who’ve purchased this. You lose the ability to choose your complications, IF you can get it to work at all. The faces aren’t universal to all Apple Watches and most have some limitations to the generation/version of watch you have. I’ve filed a formal complaint with Apple to get a refund and will be filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission’s consumer protection division against this company for their sketchy business practices.

Not your typical screen picture. This app is actually pretty cool. I decided to get the app first to see if it was worth it. Come to think of it, these images are too cute. I was tired of the same old clock image on my watch. Sure like having my pictures but some of them are really meant to not be seen! (a lot of goofy pictures that are embarrassing) so yes, this was well worth it.

Beautiful black screens! NO GRINCH FOR CHRISTMAS. I bought the app for the grinch Christmas countdown. It downloads as a black modular screen. I followed all the instructions and notified the app developer via email. I received an automated response that my complaint would be reviewed and someone would respond back to me. That was a week ago. No other communication from the developer. The black screen isn’t limited to the grinch watch face. This is the third time I have submitted a negative review for this product. The other two “disappeared” into cyberspace. I am not impressed. 6th attempt to publish this review!!! ANGRY! Refund wanted. Reported to Apple.

Waste of money. I want a refund. I was hoping to add some fun new watch faces to my SE Apple Watch, but the ones that are suppose to work with my watch will not work. I choose the one I want, I push “add to my watch,” the next page explains it will includes “complications you can get from one app on the App Store,” I press “continue,” and it slides right past whatever thing I need to add to get it to work. It will not allow me time to even read the page. Then, of course, it does not work. I like the basic free ones that came with my apple watch better. This was a waste of money. I seriously need a refund.

Drains the battery FAST!. I’ve had my watch for awhile, and this is the fast time I’ve used an app for watch faces. I do wear mine with “always on” activated. I charge fully every night. Never had a problem with my watch dying until I tried this app out. I thought maybe it was because I had it set to a white background but today I set it to black background and it still died before the end of the day. If my watch can’t last a whole day I won’t be using these. I lost my $8. :-/

Requires Health Data Access. Most of the cool looking Christmas countdown faces require access to ALL of your Health data (in order to show steps, calories, etc.). There is no way use those faces without granting the permission. I won’t do that. It doesn’t say what else it may do with the data. It should allow use without Health data. Those complications can be blank or show something else. Also, a few of the other faces I would have used aren’t compatible with my watch. Others require you to turn off the Always On display. (Which I don’t want to do.) Cool idea for an app, but horrible execution. I’ll be requesting a refund.

Missing countdown. I did not get what I paid for. The image I fell in love with was the hand of the grinch holding an ornament with a countdown to Christmas. All I got was a grinch hand holding nothing. No countdown, no ornament. It’s super cute if it worked correctly but it never showed up for me. Perhaps there is something I need to do but I tried many different ways to get the countdown and it didn’t work. So either the app has too many hoops to jump through or it just doesn’t deliver what it sold. Either way, I was very disappointed. A waste of $10 in my opinion. I wish I could get my money back.

It took me a while to figure out how to access it. After I paid and downloaded it I looked and the $9.99 came out of my account. I couldn’t figure out how to use it. I tried pushing on everything on the page Nothing Then I noticed the restore button I just decided I would push it. I hit the restore button and now I can access it It took me a while to figure out how to access it ! There needs to be someway to contact y’all if a person needs help. Lackluster. I was really excited to try this app but ver disappointed in the outcome. First, I had to purchase the app before I could even try out a different watch face. Once I did purchase the app, the watch faces that I tried to download would not work on my watch. My phone and my watch are running the latest iOS software. Also, I’m not able to customize the watch face. When I try to click “more”, the watch app crashes. if I am able to get the compilation to come up, it says that it’s there, but then it does not show on the actual watch face. These are really big issues that need to be addressed.

Buyer Beware. Most of the adversised faces are not available for Series SE watches. Moreover, the few faces available for Series SE do not work correctly. When I reached out to Customer Service stating my issues with the app and demanding a full refund, I got a very impersonal and generic email with paragraphs of suggestions of what I can try to make their defective app to work. They are clearly unwilling to issue a refund for an app that does not work as advertised. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase this useless app, unless you want to throw away your money. Better yet, take the $9.99 they charge for this sub par application and go to Chipotle!

Fun and many different designs.. When I got my Apple Watch I was a little disappointed with the lack of customization options on the device itself, so when I saw this app being advertised I knew I needed it! $10 for a lifetime of faces isn’t that bad I can change it to whatever I want whenever I want for life. Cute designs I love the Alive in Wonderland designs.

Questionable. I do not see why so many other people are complaining about. Unless they are posting negative and false reviews. Anyways, on a positive note I have been using this app since March of 2024. I have noticed that some face screens won’t download to the watch. So instead of complaining. I moved on to another one that works. I also love how I can customize my watch the way I want it to look.

So far…having display issues. I purchased the $7.99 lifetime access. I am having issues loading many of the faces I’ve tried which have shown up in my Watch app essentially as black screen with maybe the time showing but nothing else. I’m going to keep trying in case this is user error!! I love the many options but I need them to show up on my watch correctly

Watch face extravaganza. This app is a great addition to the Apple watch faces. Apple will be buying you out pretty soon, but please be sure you stay part of the design process. The creators have really created something outstanding for Apple Watches. I’m gonna start looking for a New Years face after this review. Hopefully, I’m lucky enough to find one. Thank you again for this app.

Ok - most don’t do much. I got the impression that this program would link really well. It does not. I cannot get it to show the weather, I cannot get it to show the link to a workout, and most are just a picture with the time. The Apple Watch goes so much beyond this, and I really wanted this program to link all of the needed piece. Was not worth the money I spent and would not recommend it may be deleting it soon. There are a few cute pictures and movements, but really that’s about it.

Needs improvement... One of the better apps for watch faces. However, not all of the widgets are functional. My favorite face, the weather does not update. It is stuck on 57 degrees with a 60% chance of rain. You can’t force it to update so it’s just stuck. I have emailed support about the issue but have heard nothing. Also, if you click on some of the widgets, it doesn’t take you to that app. Just an info page. All in all, not a bad app but for $7 for access, I would expect it to function better!

Great App!!!. I truly love this app! Customer Service is quick to respond & my problem was fixed w/in 24 hours!! I have 3 Watch Faces apps on my phone & this one is by far the very best - it is worth the very minimal fee they ask - I believe in being loyal to good work & companies that provide that good work & Better Watch Faces is truly just that - thank you for all your work!!!

BetterWatch is Awesome. It has been very easy to use. I have had no problem changing out my watch faces every couple of days. There many, many choices available. The price point is a tad high at $9.99 but it did not dissuade me from purchasing it. I have told others about it and they were impressed with what I presented to them. Thanks for making this an option this Holiday Season and many seasons (like Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc) to come!

Fun and Useful. I never thought my watch would be this fantastic. So many faces. Weather. Health. Just for fun. And the one time fee for lifetime premium is too good to pass up. Thank you to the developers for the fun experience with my watch. I could switch the face every day and not get tired of the same ol thing. I absolutely love the app. I usually don’t write reviews but this app is truly amazing.

Waste of $10. The graphics on this app are so cute, I had to have it. I downloaded the app, put one watch face on my Apple Watch 7. I’m pretty tech savvy, however this was a little complicated to add all of the complications. When u add, say the weather it gets rid of the graphics. I tried to download another face and it was stuck on download for a whole day. I restarted my phone and my watch and still didn’t load. I contacted support and have heard nothing. I’ll be deleting the app, which is unfortunate, I wanted it to work but I guess that would take a Christmas miracle. Save your money.

Love being able to change faces. However the app is glitchy, the moving faces aren’t as exciting as what you see when browsing, once downloaded it’s less neat. The app crashes when you download new faces or try to change widgets. Some widgets listed on specific faces are named so long that you have no idea what they are until you select one; and when you do you run the risk of the app crashing. Other than that not, not a total disappointment. When it works its cool.

Love it.. Just downloaded it. But love the Halloween theme. I will definitely be using this app a lot. Easy to navigate. Lots of options. Wish you had a search option, I got a notification a new display A adorable weather girl. Can’t have it. Even after update. Have noticed lots new displays. *** Update ** some displays are not compatible with all watches. Still like App. But disappointed can’t have some them after update on phone.

Great spend!. A one time expense for such a fun variety of watch faces. Being able to change my watch face whenever I want is one of those small little happiness things that lights me up. The only issues I have is the constant request to rate/review, even after I’ve already done it previously and from time to time the faces stop working out of no where and I have to delete then redownload it.

Doesn’t work. I bought the $6.99 subscription because I do like the faces that are offered. I customized them on the watch app on my phone and set as my current watch face. I thought it would show up but on my watch, it says BetterWatchforApple. Just like that, the watch faces do not even show up on my watch, only show a bunch of dashes. I wish they would fix this or refund my money since it doesn’t even work. I checked the watch I selected and it’s still not working. Please fix this since I am now out of $7. I would rate this higher but can’t even use them!

So far so good. I have only had the app for a week but I haven’t had any troubles and I love it! I will say it truly needs a search feature. I don’t mind looking at everything but I want to be able to do a keyword search and go back to find what I liked. Be sure to favorite whatever you like so you can go back to your favorites and not have to search all the faces again.

Animation doesn’t work. A nice collection of watch faces, but none of the live ones are actually animated once you get them on your Apple Watch. I have a series 9, and when I add a watch a face to my watch app, and then try to set as my current watch face, it makes a copy of the watch face I selected so that I can edit it to my liking. But, if it’s a live one, it just shows up as a still picture. I have the always on setting turned off, as is recommended for live watch faces. Still does not work. Disappointing.

Great App. I love being able to pick my background & the fact that there are so many! Sometimes I feel like the watch face that has steps, temp etc. I cannot get the app to upload correctly. If anyone has any ideas on what I can do to fix that I would appreciate it. I am sure it’s user error! Definitely a great, fun app for your watch!

A little difficult to navigate. If the watch faces were on a manually, rotating pieces would be so much easier to find one and choose one. The app is chaotic. But I did find someone that I truly like and I keep hoping they will add new ones anytime throughout the year instead of just having the same ones

App doesn’t always work. I bought this app because I thought the weather girl watch faces were so unique. They will not download. When you choose one it just keeps trying to load. This was really disappointing. I followed the instructions and turned off what you asked still doesn’t work.

So Far So Good. Only had the app for a few hours and it seems like a good app so far. The biggest down fall is you are hounded for the get go to rate the app. Not even given 24 hours to try out the app. How do you rate something you have had no time to even try and see how like it or what issues you run into with the app? Well update this review in a month or so, once I figure out all the ins and outs of the app.

So addicted!!! Love this app. This app is literally the best for someone who loves changing their screen on their watch as much as I do!!!!! They always add new and cute ones all the same which is also the reason I love this app too! I’ve never had one thing go wrong with any one of the watch displays I add and I’m always changing !!! Love this app!. I won’t lie. I was VERY suspicious of the too good to be true type situation but I LOVE this app and now my husbands downloaded it as well. The one thing I was worried about was if I could still get access to my Dexcom compilation and I can! So Kuddos on that ! The only thing I would love to see is one or two more customizable compilations to access messages as well etc. otherwise this app is PERFECTION.
